Re: If Mary and Joseph Used Facebook.
Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem for the tax/census. Since Mary and Joseph were both of the lineage of King David who was born in Bethlehem that is the place they had to go to comply with the law at the time.
As you recall, when it was time for the birth of Jesus there was no room in the Inn for Mary and Joseph. One of the reasons for the housing problem was because it was at the time of Tabernacles. God commanded the Jewish men go to Jerusalem to celebrate Tabernacles (the birth of Jesus), Passover (the death of Jesus) and Pentecost (the birth of Israel as a nation, the birth of the New Testament Church, the birth of King David and Enoch, the death of King David and the translation of Enoch). For that reason lodging is difficult to obtain at those times of the year.
There were so many people in Jerusalem at those times that many built housing shelters on the rooftops of buildings. At Tabernacles - Succahs/Sukkots/Succoths - temporary shelters were part of the Tabernacles celebration. Some believe that Jesus was born in a Succah and placed in a manger.
It is interesting to note that the name Bethlehem means House of Bread. Jesus is the bread of life - the true manna from Heaven.
Of equal interest is the fact that Jesus was born in a manger. A manger is where sheep come to eat.
Tabernacles -
Birth and Circumcision of Jesus
The last Tabernacles - Nisan 14/15 of the Public Ministry of Jesus before His death at Passover on Nisan 14, April 3, 30 AD at 3 PM, He was recognized as the Son of God.
Matthew 17
1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, (3 of His disciples) and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. (Jesus, Moses and Elijah - 3 men - were seen in their temporary bodies - tabernacles.)
4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three (3) tabernacles (built with hands); one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. (Peter asked if He should build 3 Tabernacles.)
5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
God the Father - omnipresent Spirit - spoke from Heaven and recognized Jesus as the Son of God. When Jesus came from Heaven to earth He was fully God and fully man.
KJV Mark 9
2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
KJV Luke 9
28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.
29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.
30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:
31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.
32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.
33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.
35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.
KJV Mark 9:2
And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.

Jesus - His Second Coming to Earth
KJV Revelation 21:3
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
It is interesting to learn that the events on the Mount of Transfiguration took place six days after the Day of Atonement and six months before the date of the death of Jesus. The Day of Atonement - Yom Kippur - was when the High Priest would enter the holiest place in the temple once a year to make a sacrifice to reconcile Israel to God.
The Day of Atonment is also the date when Satan's temptation of Jesus during the 40 days of Teshuva ended. It ended when Jesus was taken to the pinnacle of the temple in Jersualem. The temple is where the High Priest should be on Yom Kippur - the Day of Atonement.
On Passover after the Tabernacles event on the Mount of Transfiguration, Jesus became the atonement for sin when He became the Passover Lamb He sacrificed as our High Priest. For those who believe in The Truth - the Word of God - Luke 8:11 - Jesus.
KJV John 1:29
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.KJV Romans 5:11
And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
KJV Matthew 4
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Christmas is one of the most widely dates celebrated in the Christian Calendar.
Even though it is not actually 25th December from the Hebrew Calendar.
But this is interesting.
