Is Hell's punishment eternal or do people burn up?

Hi Josh,
I personally believe it is eternal. Jesus was speaking in Mark 9:48 of this, did you know this verse is omitted in many Greek texts?
You brought "Isaiah 66:4 When the book of Isaiah was written we know this was prophetic and of God, no man had fathomed the deep then but with technology today where it is written "and knowledge shall increase" In these Last Days.

Some time ago I was watching a programme on the television where deep sea camera was able to bring EXTRAORDINARY live pictures of their research which was of a worm coming out of a firey volcano.
I am unable to find the video I saw of this but found this on google, you will find on about 3.mins in onward of the temperature and the worm coming out of the volcano

It is very interesting that we find in Isaiah 66:4 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

I just looked at the verse Matthew 10:28 which was brought suggest of the soul being destroyed. This is not what the scripture says NOTE caps, we are rather to Fear Him "WHICH IS ABLE"
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

There are two primary perspectives on the extent of hell’s punishment. One view contends that the wicked experience eternal conscious suffering (Walvoord, “The Literal”). The other view argues that the wicked eventually are consumed by hell’s fire, thereby forfeiting their existence (Fudge, “The Final End”).
Matthew 10:28 might imply that hell destroys both the body and the soul, making punishment only temporary. However, other texts support the eternal duration of hell’s punishment. For example, Jesus, drawing on Isa 66:24, speaks of hell as the place where the worm never dies and the fire is never extinguished (Mark 9:48). In Matthew 25:46, it seems that the punishment is forever rather than for a while. Jesus claims that upon death some people will go to eternal punishment while others will enter into eternal life.
