Re: Meditation Chip Brogden
Hey Elaine,
They say history repeats itself.
Spiritual history repeats itself, too.
Look at this:
"That entire generation passed away; a new generation grew up that had not personally experienced the LORD's presence or seen what he had done for Israel" (Judges 2:10).
And that new generation was a disaster for Israel.
Whose fault was it?
Not the NEW generation, but the OLD generation who passed away without passing anything on to the next.
This is why Paul was concerned for handing down a Christ-centered Faith to the next generation.
Most people today have not personally experienced the Jesus that Paul and the early believers experienced.
They have doctrine and theory but no reality, no personal experience.
And they often don't pass on what little they do know.
The Institutional Church has utterly failed, so you and I have to do what the IC has failed to do.
And if we don't take seriously the warning to "teach these things to faithful people who can teach others" then we're going to see spiritual history repeating itself with this next generation.
Some think the next generation is already lost.
I believe there is still time to make a difference.
But we need to know the ESSENTIALS.
That's why I've been doing this series of teachings, and the next installment starts this Friday:

Re: Meditation Chip Brogden
Hey Elaine,
This is the ULTIMATE teaching!
What I mean is, starting tonight, we're going to talk about...
1. The Ultimate Purpose
2. The Ultimate Plan
3. The Ultimate Outcome
If you want to make sense of a 1,000 piece puzzle it helps to have a picture to look at while you're working on it.
So, as we consider the elements of a Christ-centered Faith, we want to look at the Big Picture first; then, the individual pieces will make more sense.
You will also have a better idea of what does NOT belong in this Big Picture - because you can waste a lot of time trying to fit a Church-centered Faith into a Christ-Centered Faith and wonder why those pieces don't fit.
Anyway, I hope you'll join us online for this ULTIMATE teaching :-)
It starts tonight, but we have other sessions on Saturday and Sunday.
Go here to see the schedule and pick a day and time that best suits you:

All you need is a computer and an Internet connection.

Re: Meditation Chip Brogden
Hey Elaine,
Towards the end of his life, Paul became concerned for handing down a Christ-centered faith to the next generation.
He said, "Teach these things to faithful people who can teach others." (2 Tim. 2:2).
I am just as concerned as Paul was - and I think rightly so, considering the times we live in.
But what "things" did he especially want us to learn and pass on to others?
That's the subject of our current teaching series.
To accommodate more participants, I'm experimenting with offering different days and times to join us online for this teaching.
Go here to see the schedule and pick a day and time that best suits you:

Hopefully this will give more people an opportunity to participate.

Re: Meditation Chip Brogden
Hey Elaine,
2 Timothy 2:2 says, “Teach these things to faithful people who can teach others.”
The fact that Paul was concerned for the handing down of a Christ-centered faith is very significant.
If Christ-centered teaching is not preserved and handed down to the next generation, it will be lost in the milieu of liberalism, atheism, Churchianity, and false religions. It is very nearly lost already.
Scripture also declares that “the Spirit speaks expressly that in the latter times, some will depart from the faith” (1 Timothy 4:1). We believe this is being fulfilled before our eyes – many have departed from a Christ-centered faith and adopted a Church-centered faith.
To overcome this, we must do what the Institutional Church has failed to do: we must teach these things to faithful people who can teach others to ensure the continuity of the Testimony of Jesus until He returns.
But what “things” should we be teaching people? And what exactly is a “Christ-centered faith”? That’s what we will explore together in a series of teachings beginning this Friday:

The Ministry of One-Anothering
by Chip Brogden
People ask me all the time, “How do I know if I’m called to the ministry?”
I answer by saying you are definitely called to the ministry. They think perhaps I am a prophet or I can see something that they cannot. Then I have to clarify it by explaining that all of us are called to the ministry of One-Anothering. No one is exempt. How that will eventually work itself out in your life is a wonderful mystery that you will have to discover for yourself. Only don’t look to do some great thing to begin with, just find some brothers and sisters and begin your practice of One-Anothering.
Others will ask, “But how do I know if God is calling me to a full-time ministry?” My response is that He is calling all of us to the full-time ministry of One-Anothering. I’m missing the page in my Bible that talks about a part-time commitment. There’s no such thing as a part-time ministry, a part-time minister, or a part-time Christian. It is either all the time or none of the time...

Re: Meditation Chip Brogden
Hey Elaine,
Since Hurricane Matthew arrived last Saturday we have been without power, telephone and Internet. The rivers are flooded and many bridges have been washed over or washed away.
Thankfully, we have everything back on now, the only loss being all the food in our refrigerator that we didn't eat the first day :-)
However, many of our neighbors are still without power. Major flooding is still occurring all over eastern North Carolina.
Please pray as you are led for the folks here in the southeastern U.S., as well as those in Haiti who have lost even more in this storm.

The Call of the Cross
by Chip Brogden
“And he that taketh not his cross,
and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me
(Matthew 10:38).”
Are you worthy of the Lord Jesus Christ? Hear what the Lord is saying here. “If you do not take up your Cross and follow Me, you do not deserve Me.”
It is not merely a question of are we following Christ. The crux of the matter is, have we taken up the Cross? There is an order to this call to become disciples of Jesus Christ: first, we must take up our Cross; only then may we follow after Him. It is not, “first follow Me, and later take your Cross.” The Cross is step one. Our taking up the Cross is basic to our following Christ, not something we are called to do after many years. The so-called “deeper Christian life” is but the normal Christian life. Anything less is abnormal. There is no greater depth to the Christian life but what God expects of all of us from the beginning. If we are getting any “deeper” it is only because we have hitherto been shallow. We must take our Cross and follow Jesus.
If I am to take up the Cross it not only signifies my willingness to die, but my actual death. The cross is not theoretical, but very real. Being willing to die is good, but actually dying and then living again is best...

Re: Meditation Chip Brogden
Hey Elaine,
A few years ago (when I still went to places to speak) someone came up to me during the morning break and said...
"Stop telling us what's wrong with church! Just talk about Jesus."
That sounds really spiritual, doesn't it?
But...
It was really just an excuse to avoid reality and present a figment of this person's religious imagination - in other words...
"Just tickle my ears and tell me about a Jesus Who loves me and would never criticize my church so long as my heart is in the right place."
Well, the Jesus I know spent a great deal of time warning His disciples not to get sucked into a false religious system that claimed to represent God but actually led people astray.
For example, Jesus told them, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is HYPOCRISY."
Beware! Watch out!
Why?
Not just because the religious spirit will come against you. It will.
But BEWARE because (if you aren't careful) you'll easily find yourself getting religious even while you think you're following Jesus.
Not very long after Jesus warned His disciples we see them arguing over who would be the greatest.
There you go!
That's how it happens - even to Jesus' own disciples!
People haven't changed, the problem hasn't changed, and Jesus hasn't changed.
Religion is the antithesis of Relationship.
So "telling you what's wrong" is a painful but necessary step towards telling you what's right.
I can't "just talk about Jesus" without also talking about the things that Jesus told us to watch out for.

Re: Meditation Chip Brogden
The Law of Life
by Chip Brogden
“For the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has
made me free from the Law of Sin and Death."
(Romans 8:2)
Two laws are mentioned in this passage of Scripture: the Law of Life, and the Law of Sin and Death. We who are in Christ Jesus have been delivered from the Law of Sin and Death and are under a new law, which is the Law of Life.
The difference between a theoretical walk with Christ and a practical walk with Christ hinges upon being able to differentiate between the Law of Life and the Law of Death. In the Garden the choice was between the Knowledge of Good and Evil (Law of Death) or the Tree of Life (Law of Life). We must make the same choice today. Christians are much exercised in trying to discern between good and evil, right and wrong, Spirit and flesh. It seems the more we try to figure this out the more frustrated we become. Instead, God would have us come to the Tree of Life. This Life will instruct us in all things, including what is right and what is wrong, yet it is deeper than mere knowledge.
Since it is the Law of Life then we can count upon it to work every time. A law is something which states that a predictable result will occur whenever the same conditions are in place. If it happens once it may be an accident. If it happens two or three times it may be a coincidence. But if it happens a million or a billion times without fail then it is a law. For example, because of the Law of Gravity, if I release a ball into the air then it will fall to the ground. It does not matter how many times I perform this exercise, the result will be the same. It is a law.
Similarly, there is a Law of Sin and Death and there is a Law of Life. In order to live victoriously we do not need ten or twenty principles or keys. All we need to do is cooperate with the Law of Life. It is a sad fact that too many Christians find it easier to cooperate with the Law of Sin and Death than they do the Law of Life. They have no doubt as to the power of the negative law, but they have difficulty believing in the power of the positive law. Hopefully as we discuss these things it will be an encouragement to many who are struggling to overcome sin, self, and satan...

Hey Elaine,
It looks like the subject line of my last email generated a record number of complaints :-)
So today's subject line puts the positive spin on it.
I am trying to illustrate the difference between a Religion and a Relationship.
One is a broad path leading to destruction and the other is a narrow path leading to life.
"...Never the twain shall meet..." and you can travel either path you want but you can't travel both.
This is really demonstrated in the clash between Jesus and the Pharisees.
A clash still taking place today.
The spirit of Jesus is always the antithesis of the spirit of religion.
In today's live teaching we're going to examine this more closely.
You can get mad... or you can get educated.

Hey Elaine,
They may go by other names, but it is the same spirit of religion that drives them.
I'm talking about the Pharisees and Sadducees of Churchianity Today.
Just like the religious spirits that wanted to destroy John the Baptis, Jesus, the apostles, and the early Belivers...
Today these same religious spirits want to destroy a Christ-centered faith and keep you focused on Religion instead of Relationship.
Which is why Jesus warned us to TAKE HEED and BEWARE of the leaven - the teachings - of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
In Part 1 last week we learned all about what the LEAVEN represents: it's Biblical, spiritual, and prophetic significance.
In Part 2 this week we'll identify (specifically) who these people are and what they teach so you can TAKE HEED and BEWARE, just like Jesus warned us.
So join us this Friday for...

Hey Elaine,
Scripture says, "A little leaven leavens the whole loaf."
In just a few hours I'm going to deliver a live teaching that exposes the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Yes, they are alive and well today, trying to infect God's people with the very teachings that Jesus said to take heed and beware of.
It's not about "me" it's about Him - and Jesus said, "Take heed and beware!"
Are you taking heed? Most are not.
To "beware" means "to be wary of" - to watch out!
If you still don't understand why we can't compromise with the religious system then this might help you better understand why.
Otherwise it will simply provide Scriptural evidence for what you have always known to be true.
I doubt I will get through everything in one session, but you will have plenty to think about.
It's free, but you have to register for it below to get access:

Hey Elaine,
Jesus warned His disciples:
"Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees" (Mt. 16:6).
Of course, they misunderstood this warning at first.
But eventually they understood what Jesus meant:
"Beware of the TEACHINGS of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees."
In a previous message I said that the Pharisees and Sadducees are alive and well in the Christian church.
They may go by other names, but it is the same spirit of religion that drives them.
I'm so glad that Jesus did NOT say, "Love them where they are and try to understand their viewpoint... their hearts are in the right place, and after all, they are trying to do the right thing."
That is the leaven of liberalism that even now has infected the whole loaf.
Take heed and beware of their teachings.
What are they?
In this week's webinar I'm going to cover who the Pharisees and Saducees are, as well as the main things they teach, so you can learn to recognize and avoid it when you hear it.
This will not only help you steer clear, but will also empower you to help others who may be infected by that leaven.
So join us this Friday for...

Hi Elaine,
I recently completed a rather intense series of live webinars where I freely shared everything that the Holy Spirit has laid on my heart with increased urgency.
The end result was a Scriptural and prophetic explanation as to why so many are leaving Organized Religion to follow Jesus “outside the camp” in the Wilderness - and why God is calling His people to come out of the religious system.
Ever since, I've been swamped with requests from people who missed those live teachings and wanted to have an audio recording to listen to or share with others.
I believe these are too important not to share, and I don't want money to be a barrier to anyone who wants access to them.
So I am making them available to you today through our online catalog...free.
You'll get instant access to four MP3 audio files (over seven hours of teaching) so you can download them to your computer or mobile device and listen to them.

The Last Exodus
by Chip Brogden
Many people are beginning to see the truth. They are beginning to see that there is a called-out remnant of people – a “Church in the Wilderness” that God is separating and calling out of Organized Religion.
And this is not a mere reaction to being hurt, or rejected, or just being rebellious. It is actually the fulfillment of a prophetic sequence of events that has already been established in the Scriptures and in the history of the nation of Israel. It is the final calling out of a remnant of Overcomers who will bear the Testimony of Jesus and stand for the preeminence of Christ in all things as we prepare for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ and for the inevitable judgment upon those who claim to represent Him, but do not.
These Overcomers have been called by God to forsake “Churchianity” – not to forsake the joining and assembling of the members of Christ’s Body, but to forsake the hypocrisy of the religious spirits that masquerade as the Holy Spirit. They are not forsaking the people of God, they are forsaking the counterfeit, hypocritical worship of God that Jesus Himself condemned as “vain worship” – it does not meet the Lord’s Need or satisfy God’s heart. They have rejected a religious system that is led by blind leaders of the blind. They are simply following the command of Jesus to “leave them alone” (Mt. 15:14).
Other men and women of God have seen these things in the past, but many would not speak of them openly and freely. They would only go so far and in many cases they were still very much a part of the religious system, still trying to reform it or calling it to repent. Someone like A. W. Tozer, who was a prophetic voice to his generation, yet still operated as a pastor within the religious system. That may have been acceptable in that generation, and in that season.
But we are in a different season now...

Re: Meditation Chip Brogden
Is Jesus Enough?
by Chip Brogden
“After they had eaten, Jesus asked Simon Peter,
‘Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me
more than these other things?'”
John 21:15
If Jesus was all you had, would Jesus be enough for you?
Many precious believers are in love with the things of the Lord, but they are not in love with the Lord Himself. Many Christian workers and ministers are in love with the Lord’s work. Almost without realizing it, the work of the Lord becomes more important than the Lord of the work.
There are prophets and teachers who hold words from God in higher esteem than the God Who speaks the words they attribute as being from Him. People seek these words and teachings. The more they receive, the more they want. Before one word is digested they are craving another. They are seeking “things” – words, prophecies, teachings, visions, dreams – but they are not seeking the Lord Himself.
Is Jesus enough?
When the saints gather together most of the activity is focused on “one another”. This is important, but it is not the most important thing. Fellowship is good: but is Jesus enough? Gatherings are good: but is Jesus enough? Meetings are good: but is Jesus enough? Special speakers and special music are good: but is Jesus enough?
Even with praise and worship it is possible to sing “about” Jesus and not truly worship Jesus. With preaching and teaching it is possible to talk “about” Jesus and not truly meet Jesus in what is shared. In prayer it is possible to talk “about” our needs and never actually commune with Jesus Himself.
Among Christians I have discovered something. There is Jesus, and then there are all the things ABOUT Jesus that are NOT Jesus. Jesus Himself occupies only a small portion of what is said and done in Christian circles. Most of what is said and done is merely ABOUT Jesus, but it is NOT Jesus...

Re: Meditation Chip Brogden
Hey Elaine,
For the last few weeks I've delivered some rather intense messages that reflect what I sense is an increased urgency from the Holy Spirit relative to the times that we live in.
In times past, I have been content to say that it is up to God's people to hear from God and do whatever He tells them to do.
While this is technically true, it is also true that God raises up certain men and women at strategic times to blow the trumpet, sound the alarm, and call God's people to action.
As a result, I cannot just stand back and hope that people will figure it out.
They won't.
So let me be very clear: God has already spoken and said, "Come out of her, My people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues" (Rev. 18:4).
When I deeply considered this I realized that many (if not most) of God's people are still in the harlot church system - prisoners of a religious spirit. That's why God still calls them "My people" (at least for the time being).
But the fact remains that even God's people can fall into sin and judgment if they ignore or refuse to obey God's clear command to come out.
They may even be good people but they are trapped in a bad situation, and many of them don't even realize it.
And many will talk about how these precious people "really love the Lord" yet Jesus says if you really love Me, you'll do what I say.
So if all these people really "love God with all their heart" why do they continue to resist the Holy Spirit, ignore the clear commands of Scripture, and refuse to hear the truth so plainly presented?
These two conditions - claiming to love God while refusing to obey Him - characterize a Laodicean church of the lukewarm.
The fact that most of God's people can participate and support something that is Antichrist and not even realize it is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy.
And, the fact that so many think they cannot be deceived, that their church is an exception to the rule, once again proves that the Scriptures are being fulfilled before our eyes.
And even those who see the truth still have a hard time coming out.
Why?
Because the same complaining and unbelief that kept the Hebrews from entering into the Promised Land also prevents God's people today.
"Yes, they spoke against God: They said, 'Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?'" (Ps. 78:19)
God calls them out, but they hesitate, they waver, they wonder how God can possibly meet all their needs without some support system to keep them fed, watered, and pumped up each week.
"God has brought us into wilderness to kill us! Where is the food? Where is water? Let's go back to Egypt!"
Many say the same thing today.
"Where is the good Bible preaching? Where is the fellowship? Let's go back to church!"
Well, let me say that the Wilderness reveals who and what you really are.
When everything is taken away you discover how false and fake it all was.
What remains may seem small and insignificant, but it is real and genuine.
So this is what I believe I need to address in this week's live teaching.
The purpose is to encourage you to step out into the spiritual desert and trust that God will not only make a way for you and meet your needs but will reveal Himself to you in ways that you cannot imagine so long as you are sitting within the safety and security of Babylon.
So join us this Friday for...

Hey Elaine!
Did you know the Bible was originally written without punctuation marks, lowercase letters, or spaces?
Take an example from Matthew 3:3.
If you wrote the last part of this verse in English without punctuation, lowercase or spaces, it would look like this:
THEVOICEOFONECRYINGINTHEWILDERNESSPREPARETHEWAYOFTHELORDMAKEHISPATHSSTRAIGHT
Not too easy to read, is it?
But this is how you should *think* about it.
Here's why...
Because when you add punctuation marks, lowercase letters, and spaces to Scripture it can clarify the meaning...
- OR -
...it can create a different meaning altogether!
For example, going back to Matthew 3:3, it is always punctuated like this:
"The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord; make His paths straight.'"
But what if you punctuated it like this instead?
"The voice of one crying: 'In the Wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make His paths straight.'"
In the first version, there is a voice coming out of the wilderness, telling you to prepare the way of the Lord.
In the second version, someone is crying out, telling you where to prepare: IN THE WILDERNESS is the place where you prepare the way of the Lord.
Meaning, "outside the camp."
See the difference?
Which is correct?
What if both are correct?
Someone in the wilderness, crying out for you to prepare the way of the Lord; and also telling you that in the wilderness is the place where you are to prepare that way.
Does the context support both interpretations?
Yes, it does.
So why doesn't anyone ever talk about the second interpretation?
Because we see what we have been trained to see, what we are conditioned to see, what the Church tells us to see.
And they put all this in the past - fulfilled already in John the Baptist.
But I believe there is more to the Bible than a history book of already-fulfilled prophecies.
Parables are prophecies.
History repeats itself.
Our future is already written down.
Join me in this week's LIVE WEBINAR if you'd like to go deeper than the surface-level, status quo interpretation of things and see what else lies just below the surface.

Re: Meditation Chip Brogden
Hey Elaine,
A lot of people fall victim to the "just around the corner" syndrome...
"God is getting ready to do something powerful!"
"The world is about to see..."
"The Church is about to experience..."
You get the idea.
Does anyone have an original thought in their head, or can they only vainly regurgitate what someone up on the platform tells them?
Anyway, the trouble I have is the same people have been saying the same thing for 100 years and nothing much has changed.
When nothing much changes, people start making things up – and that's when it becomes a problem.
They point to a movement or group as the "Big Thing" God's been getting ready to do all along.
But these movements and groups tend to rise out of nowhere, ride the wave for a period of time, and then fade away like a vapor - only to be replaced by yet another "Big Thing" that God is supposedly doing next.
Here’s the thing...
If you're looking for the "Big Thing" in the wrong place then you’ll miss the "Real Thing" even as it occurs!
Join us online for this week's live teaching to learn what the Bible says about the next Big Thing (hint: it's not the Rapture, and it's not a Revival).

Re: Meditation Chip Brogden
5 Critical Needs for Christians
"Outside the Camp"
by Chip Brogden
If you are burned out on religion, fed up with Churchianity, despised, rejected, and cut off from the Institutional Church, then message to you is simple: You are not crazy, you are not alone, and now is the greatest opportunity of your life.
You have been set free to serve: liberated from Churchianity, free to follow Jesus, free to love God and to love your neighbor, without being bound by the Spirit of Religion.
Or so it would appear…
Because just as the newly liberated Hebrews wandered the desert for forty years without entering the Promised Land, it is possible for newly liberated Christians to wander in the wilderness for years and never discover the purpose to which they are called.
Or like the Galatians, you can easily find yourself being set free in Christ, only to become entangled again by the yoke of bondage to Churchianity.
My heart’s desire is to help you STAND FAST in the liberty wherein Christ has made you free.
To do that, I have identified Five Critical Needs for those who have escaped Churchianity and endeavor to follow Jesus “outside the camp.”
These Five Critical Needs are the conclusions we have come to after traveling thousands of miles, communicating with thousands of Christians, and observing first hand nearly every variety of church, denomination, home group, and even a few cults over nearly 30 years of ministry to people, both inside and outside of Churchianity – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Let’s talk about the most obvious one first…
