Boycott Leads to Prophetic Sightings of Prayer on Temple Mount

“For Tzion’s sake will I not hold My peace, and for Yerushalayim’s sake I will not rest, until her triumph go forth as brightness, and her salvation as a torch that burneth.” Isaiah 62:1 (The Israel Bible™)

A number of Israeli Jews were able to pray freely on the Temple Mount Monday after a bizarre sequence of events which resulted in Muslims boycotting the site.
The Jews ascending the Temple Mount were unattended by Muslim guards for the first time in decades. Some could not resist the temptation to pray, and in a poignant display of piety, the first prayers were for the non-Jewish policemen who fell protecting the Jewish people during last Friday’s terror attack at the site.
On Friday morning, three Palestinians opened fire near the Temple Mount, killing two Druze Israeli Policemen and injuring two others before they were killed by Israeli forces on the Mount itself. In the aftermath of the attack, the Israeli government closed the Temple Mount to Muslim prayer for the first time since 1999. The site was also closed to Jews.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the Temple Mount reopened on Sunday with increased security measures which included requiring Muslim visitors to pass through metal detectors. (While Jews who visit the site have always been subjected to strict security checks, including metal detectors, Muslims have never, until now, had to undergo the same scrutiny.)

The Waqf (Jordanian Islamic authority) immediately called on Muslims to boycott the site, calling the metal detectors “Israeli aggression”. Inter-Islamic scuffles broke out as some Palestinians attempted to prevent others from entering the Temple Mount compound. Dozens of Muslims prayed at the entrances to the compound, kneeling in prayer towards the IDF guards in a scene that seemed to be the sudden materialization of prophecy.
And the sons of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee, and all they that despised thee shall bow down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee the city of Hashem, the Tzion of the Holy One of Yisrael. Isaiah 60:14

On Monday, Jews were finally permitted to visit the site. Due to the Waqf strike, they were able to walk on the Temple Mount without an antagonistic Muslim guard in attendance to ensure they would not pray. The site was also largely free of Muslim worshipers observing the Waqf’s boycott.
Several visitors took advantage of the rare opportunity to connect with God on the holiest site in the world. In a touching scene, several Jews said Kaddish, the mourner’s prayer, at the site where one of the two policemen were killed.
Though the policemen were not Jewish, the Druze consider themselves to be the descendants of Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law. As such, they have a Biblical inheritance in the land of Israel and consider themselves loyal to the modern state of Israel.
Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount is a return to law, since a Jerusalem Magistrate Court issued a ruling in 2015 upholding the Jewish right to pray on the Temple Mount. However, that ruling was never enforced, as Israeli police continued a policy of stopping Jewish prayer on the Mount so as not to antagonize Muslim visitors.
This opportunity for Jews to pray on the Temple Mount did not come as a result of Jewish demand, but as a result of Muslim action. Rabbi Shalom Mashash, former chief rabbi of Haifa, taught that Temple will be built when the Arabs beg Jews to build it. As unlikely as this may seem today, today’s Jewish prayer is evidence that when it comes to matters concerning the Temple, anything is possible and the improbable is commonplace.

Tensions Rise With New Security Measures on Temple Mount

About 200 people entered the Temple Mount compound for afternoon prayers Sunday after a two-day closure following Friday’s terror attack. Tensions arose as a result of the installation of metal detectors at two entrances to the holy site.
Police said they met with Muslim Waqf officials prior to opening the Mount, but refused to submit to a security check before entering the compound. The officials then led a group prayer service outside the compound.
At the same time, police prevented a small group of Israeli Jews from entering the compound. One person, Temple Mount activist Itamar Sassover, said police told the group they would not be allowed to visit the site following threats by Waqf officials that allowing Jews into the site would lead to riots.
The closure came after three Palestinian terrorists opened fire on Israeli security forces at the site on Friday. After killing two policemen, the terrorists were neutralized on the Temple Mount compound.
The temporary closure of the Mount also prompted a flurry of anti-Semitic cartoons in Arabic-language media around the Middle East. Saudi-based al-Watan showed a devil-horned Star of David devouring the Dome of the Rock; other outlets around the region in Jordan, Qatar and as far away as London featured images of a bleeding Dome of the Rock, an Israeli soldier locking the gates of the Temple Mount and the Mount barricaded behind yellow crime scene tape emblazoned with Stars of David with a sign reading “No Entry.”

Some scuffles broke out on Sunday between security forces and Muslim agitators attempting to prevent Muslim worshipers from entering the site, though the incidents were minor. The Waqf released a statement calling on people not to go up.
A Hebrew University professor said the holy site always has the potential to explode into violence.
“You’ve got to understand, Palestinian nationalism was ‘born’ around the issue of the Temple Mount,” said Dr. Hillel Cohen, a senior lecturer in the Dept. of Islam and Middle East Studies. “Even during the proto-nationalist period, during the Ottoman Empire, the Palestinian experience was created mainly around the need to ‘protect’ al-Aqsa Mosque against Western crusaders, and later Jewish colonialists.”
Cohen added that while in other areas of Judea and Samaria Israel has an interest to preserve the status quo, while the Palestinians have an interest to change it, the situation at the Temple Mount is reversed: The Palestinians very much want to preserve the status quo limiting Jewish rights, and some Israeli groups want to change it.pix
“Of course, it’s hard to predict how anybody is going to act. But it’s clear that the political establishments on either side of the line- the Netanyahu government and Abu Mazen’s cabinet – want to prevent escalation. But on both sides, you’ve got other elements that want to change things, including pro-Temple movements on one side, radical Islamic and nationalist opponents of Abu Mazen on the Palestinian side,” he said.

Police Close Temple Mount to Jewish Visitors Over Prayers

Jerusalem police evicted a group of Jewish visitors to the Temple Mount Wednesday for violating visitation rules against non-Muslim prayer and closed the holy site to Jews. Jewish groups have capitalized on the absence of Waqf (Islamic trust) officials in recent days to take advantage of relaxed police regulations governing Jewish visits to the site, including teaching Torah lessons and saying short prayers.
But police warned Temple Mount activists not to push the boundaries too far and said they would enforce the law, regardless of Muslims’ presence on the Mount.
“Israel Police… will enforce standing regulations at the site. We will not allow any party to break the law, in any way,” the police said in a statement.
Earlier Wednesday, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat warned Wednesday he would not allow the Al-Aqsa mosque to be used as a base for terrorists.
image: https://www.breakingisraelnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/345-Store-AriseAscend-600WIDE.jpg
Barkat pledged to provide security at the site for all visitors and people who come to pray. Barkat added a pledge not to allow al-Aqsa Mosque to be used for terrorism.
“We will not allow the mosque to be used for terrorism, as the killers [of police officers Ha’il Satawi and Kamil Shnaan] did,” Barkat said Wednesday following the second consecutive night of clashes between Arab residents in eastern Jerusalem and security forces. “The police decision to install metal detectors was a correct and necessary one, and one that will prevent more terror operations in future there.”
Barkat added a call for Muslim leaders and the entire world to “internalize the fact that the Temple Mount will not be used as a shelter or a center for terrorists and murderers to get organized.
“I suggest the protesters to direct their anger at the terrorists who established this need [for security measures], not at the police,” he said.
Dozens were injured, including at least two police officers overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday in the ongoing clashes. Arab residents threw stones, shot fireworks and threw Molotov cocktails at police and border police forces in Silwan, adjacent to the southern wall of the Old City, and across town in Issawiya. Security forces responded with riot-dispersal measures.
Update: The Temple Mount was reopened to non-Muslim visitors at 2:30 PM on Wednesday.

In Wake of Waqf Defection, Israel to Reestablish Jewish Sovereignty on Temple Mount, Says MK

“And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of Hashem and ye shall know that Hashem of hosts hath sent me unto you. And it shall come to pass if ye will diligently hearken to the voice of Hashem your God.” Zechariah 6:15 (The Israel Bible™)

The Islamic Waqf’s jurisdiction over the Temple Mount is over and Israel will now work to reestablish Jewish sovereignty over the holy site, said Knesset Member Avi Dichter (Likud) on Tuesday.
“Israel is the sovereign on the Temple Mount, period. The fact that the Waqf became a sovereign on the Temple Mount ended last Friday,” declared Dichter, chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and former head of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), on Israeli public radio, Israel National News reported.
“The question of our policy [at the Temple Mount] may not be clear to the Palestinians, but it is very clear to us… The Mount will remain under the control of the Israel Police.”
The move comes in the wake of the events of last Friday, when three Palestinian terrorists used the holy site to launch a terror attack against Israeli forces, killing two Israeli police officers. Israel closed the Temple Mount to all visitors in its aftermath, sparking Muslim outrage worldwide.
However, when the site was reopened on Sunday, Muslim visitors recoiled at new security measures instituted as a result of the attack and refused to enter in protest. The measures include the installation of metal detectors at the entrances used by Muslim worshipers. Waqf officials balked, refusing to ascend to the site and calling for a widespread boycott.
A Waqf statement released on Monday urged Muslims “to reject and boycott all the Israeli aggression measures, including changing the historical status quo including imposing the metal detectors.”
image: https://www.breakingisraelnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/433-BIN-Subscribe-BiblicalProphecy-600WIDE-1.jpg
The so-called “status quo”, an unwritten agreement on governance of the site by which Israel abides, forbids Jewish prayer on the Mount so as not to agitate Muslims. However, as a result of the Waqf ban, Jews are free to ascend to the Temple Mount without a hostile Waqf escort for the first time in decades and are seizing the rare opportunity to pray on the holiest site to Judaism.
According to Dichter, the Waqf boycott will initiate a massive shift in how the Temple Mount is controlled. While Israeli security forces patrol the Mount, the Waqf, until now, has held sovereignty there, creating an inhospitable and unpleasant environment for all non-Muslim visitors.
“They are trying to create a situation in which it is problematic for Jews to go up to the Temple Mount,” Dichter explained. “Al-Aqsa Mosque is considered the third-holiest place in Islam, so just like non-Muslims are not allowed to enter Mecca or Medina, they want to create the same situation on the Temple Mount.
“But the Mount will remain under the control of the Israel Police.”
Indeed, on Saturday the Waqf itself said in a statement that it had lost its control over the Temple Mount, calling the Israeli decision to close the compound “aggression against the faith and history of the Islamic nation.” The accusation is ironic in the extreme, as Islamic and Muslim forces are deeply engaged in a wholesale attempt to literally usurp all historical Jewish connection and claim to to the Temple Mount, Jerusalem and Israel itself.
Should Israel use the unexpected opportunity to take back control of the Temple Mount, the significance and implications would be beyond imagining. The Mount has not been under lasting Jewish control for thousands of years. If Israel succeeds in regaining sovereignty, it will be a triumph worthy of two millennia of Jewish prayer and longing, not to mention an unprecedented opportunity to begin reconstruction of the Mount and Temple as they were in Biblical days.

WATCH: Pence Tells CUFI That Just as God Kept Promise to Israel, So Will Trump

“Yerushalayim, that art builded as a city that is compact together; Whither the tribes went up, even the tribes of Hashem, as a testimony unto Yisrael, to give thanks unto the name of Hashem.” Psalms 122:3 (The Israel Bible™)
Vice President Mike Pence, February 23, 2017. (Michael Vadon/Flickr)
In his address at the 12th Annual Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Summit in Washington on Monday, US Vice President Mike Pence reassured the 4,000 attendees that the President Donald Trump’s administration stands strongly behind Israel, and that despite the delay, Trump will most assuredly fulfill his campaign promise to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
“To the men and women of Christians United for Israel, this president hears you. This president stands with you,” Pence told the crowd. “And I promise you that the day will come when President Donald Trump moves the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. It is not a question of if, it is only when.”
Jerusalem was central to Pence’s speech, and a major concern at the conference.
“Standing in Jerusalem, in that ancient and holy city, our president declared for all the world to hear that under his leadership the United States of America ‘will always stand with Israel,’” he added. “President Trump and I stand with Israel for the same reason every freedom-loving American stands with Israel, because her cause is our cause, her values are our values and her fight is our fight.”
This statement was indeed a welcome one to the members of CUFI, the largest pro-Israel grassroots organization in the United States. CUFI and its members supported Trump during his his campaign, in which he stated a strong support for Israel and promised to quickly move the US embassy, now in Tel Aviv, to Jerusalem, effectively recognizing it as Israel’s capital.

WATCH: Pence Tells CUFI That Just as God Kept Promise to Israel, So Will Trump
By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz July 18, 2017 , 1:30 pm
“Yerushalayim, that art builded as a city that is compact together; Whither the tribes went up, even the tribes of Hashem, as a testimony unto Yisrael, to give thanks unto the name of Hashem.” Psalms 122:3 (The Israel Bible™)
