Mercenaries from Russia make major push into Africa
August 13, 2019 by Jerry McCormick
Secret Russian forces are training in Africa, which has United States officials very concerned.
Reports reveal that a Russian oligarch has decided to fund mercenaries to train locals so the Russians can get access to local bounty of gold and diamonds in Africa.
Secret, Not Secret
The fact that Russia is training locals in warfare tactics is not exactly a secret. The training itself has been sanctioned by the United Nations.
However, what the Russians are really doing there is far from what the U.N. has approved. The Russians training the locals are not normal military, either.
They are actually mercenaries under the employ of Yevgeny Prigozhin, a Russian oligarch with very close ties to Vladimir Putin.
He also happens to be one of the Russians sanctioned for meddling in the 2016 presidential election in the United States.
Stealing Resources
The training missions by the Russians appear to be nothing more than a smokescreen for the real purpose.
Several journalists have allegedly been murdered by Russians in Africa for sticking their nose in where it did not belong.
Others found themselves being followed by a car of Russians they believed to have been associated with the mercenary training operation.
The reason for the secrecy seems to be quite clear. Russia wants the natural resources of the area, which are gold and diamonds.
Fearful for their lives, the camera crew documenting the situation left the area the following day, not wanting to end up like its predecessors.
This would seem to be a clear effort by modern Russia to mimic the presence of the old Soviet Union throughout the world, something that is a massive concern for the United States and its allies.

“The president used U.S. foreign policy to put a thumb on the scale for right-wing allies within Israeli domestic politics,” said South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate.

Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Ind., and a candidate for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, denounced on Tuesday U.S. President Donald Trump’s official recognition of Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights as an “interference” in the State of Israel and its politics.
“There are very legitimate Israeli security concerns,” said the 37-year-old in response to a question from JNS following his speech at the annual Iowa State Fair on “The Des Moines Register Soapbox,” where candidates for president and other offices give an allotted 20-minute speech. “That being said, I would have, in that situation, had this be part of a negotiated discussion. The really upsetting thing about what was done with the Golan Heights was that it was an intervention in Israeli domestic politics.”
“In other words, the president used U.S. foreign policy to put a thumb on the scale for right-wing allies within Israeli domestic politics. This is totally the wrong basis for our policy. So we can talk about the future of any of the hot-button issues in the Middle East,” continued Buttigieg. “The bottom line is when I am president we will do it not based on U.S. politics and not based on Israeli politics but based on what is best for the security of the Israeli-Palestinian [future].”
Regarding whether, if elected, he would undo the president’s move, Buttigieg responded, “I’m not going to make any declarations now about the future of that status other than to say that on my watch it would not have come about as part of the intervention of Israeli [politics].”
The Republican Jewish Coalition immediately challenged the mayor for his response.
“Top tier 2020 Democrat contender apparently wants Syria to have the Golan Heights, supports a foreign policy strategy that denies reality,” tweeted the organization.
However, Buttigieg did not say nor seemed to imply that Syria should have the Golan Heights, which many say is a geographic and strategic asset for the State of Israel.
Jerusalem embassy, Iran nuclear deal, settlements
Buttigieg has pledged, if elected, to keep the U.S. embassy in Israel in Jerusalem, where it was relocated from Tel Aviv in May 2018, but re-enter the United States into the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, which the Trump administration withdrew from, also in May 2018, reimposing sanctions lifted under it alongside enacting new financial penalties against the regime.
In June, along with criticizing the U.S. withdrawal from the Iran deal, Buttigieg warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against fulfilling his campaign promise to annex parts of Judea and Samaria.
“If Prime Minister Netanyahu makes good on his threat to annex West Bank (Judea and Samaria) settlements, he should know that a President Buttigieg would take steps to ensure that American taxpayers won’t help foot the bill,” he declared.
While on the soapbox, Buttigieg called for gun-control measures, and also tackled immigration and the economy.
The Iowa Caucus will be held on Feb. 3, 2020.

North Korea accused the US of declaring war
The White House was last night forced to deny that the US had declared war on North Korea by describing claims by the hermit kingdom as "absurd".
Sarah Huckabee Sanders, press secretary for the White House, conference came after Kim’s top aide Ri Yong Ho said said the international community should “remember that the US declared war on North Korea”.
During a very rare briefing to reporters at the UN Millenium Plaza hotel in New York, North Korea's foreign minister said the secretive state has the right to shoot down American bombers even if they are not in North Korean air space.
But Ms Sanders said the US was still seeking peaceful solutions.

Mr Rouhani said: "We will increase our military power as a deterrent.

“We will strengthen our missile capabilities ... We will not seek permission from anyone to defend our country.”
Iran's Tasnim news agency reported the country had unveiled a new ballistic missile with range of 2,000 km (1,200 miles), capable of carrying several warheads.
The report, which gave few other details, quoted the head of the Revolutionary Guards' aerospace division, Amirali Hajizadeh, speaking on the sidelines of a military parade in Tehran.
During his first address to the UN Tuesday, Mr Trump branded Iran a “murderous regime” and said the 2015 nuclear deal with the country was an “embarrassment”.
He hinted the US would withdraw from the deal he described as "one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered to”.
The 2015 agreement limits Iran’s nuclear development capabilities in return for softened economic sanctions.

But Mr Trump said Washington could not abide by a deal “if it provides cover for the eventual construction of a nuclear problem”.
Mr Rouhani responded to Mr Trump’s threats, saying the US would pay a "high price" should it decide to terminate the deal.
He said: "Exiting such an agreement would carry a high cost for the United States of America, and I do not believe Americans would be willing to pay such a high cost for something that will be useless for them.

Mr Zarif dismissed the Trump administration as “seriously ill-informed” about the agreement and branded Mr Trump’s UN speech as “absurd”.

In remarks that further signal the world is teetering on the edge of World War 3, US President Trump tweeted: "Kim Jong Un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn't mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before!"
It comes at a time when it is clear that tensions are at an all-time high between the hermit kingdom and US, and that an all-out war could be days away.
Kim Jong-un today threatened to test a hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean as part of its ongoing military programme.
The threat was in retaliation to President Trump's warning this week that the US would “totally destroy” Kim's secretive state during his first UN General Assembly speech.

Alexander Shevchenko, the Russian defence ministry’s tank-automation commander, said the tank support combat vehicle, dubbed the Terminator, had successfully passed all tests.
He said the Terminator was "a vehicle of a brand-new class" that "has already attracted many countries, chiefly Israel and Syria”, according to Russian news agency TASS.
The tanks weigh 44 tonnes and are equipped with two 30mm-caliber 2A42 autocannons and a 7.62mm-caliber PKTM twin-mount machine gun.
Alexander Potapov, director general of Russian manufacturer Uralvagonzavod, said the majority of the Terminators will be delivered to the country’s military in 2018.

The Russian defence ministry signed a £300million contract to the deliver the Terminators at the Army 2017 forum.
The Terminator, which is said to be based on Russia’s T-72 main battle tank, primarily provides direct attack and defensive support to other tanks on the battlefield, including Russia’s T-90A tank.
The tank was specifically designed with urban warfare in mind and requires five members to operate it - a gunner, a driver-mechanic, two riflemen and a commander.

Officials said the test data would be used to develop prospective means of breaching “enemy” missile defences for use in Russian ballistic missiles.
The test and Terminator announcement have added to fears war could break out amid escalating tensions between North Korea and the United States.
Both Russia and China have called for calm as it is feared Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump could trigger World War 3.

Hassan Rouhani made the promise in an address to a parade of armed forces in the capital Tehran, state media reported.
He also said Iran would not seek permission from any country to “defend” it self.
His comments follows Mr Trump’s provocative address at the UN General Assembly - in which he verbally attacked Iran and North Korea.

"It will be a great pity if this agreement were to be destroyed by 'rogue' newcomers to the world of politics: the world will have lost a great opportunity."

In his address, Mr Trump also described Iran as a “corrupt dictatorship” and accused the country of exporting "violence, bloodshed and chaos" throughout the Middle East.
On Thursday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif rejected any new negotiation with the US over extending the length or conditions of the 2015 deal.
Mr Zarif dismissed the Trump administration as “seriously ill-informed” about the agreement and branded Mr Trump’s UN speech as “absurd”.

Donald Trump has sent a warning shot to North korea

This week President Trump warned if America “is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea” before supporting further sanctions against the hermit kingdom.
The raft of new sanctions include an Executive order which targets foreign banks who complete business with Kim’s regime.
He mockingly referred to North Korean despot Kim Jong-un as a “rocket man on a suicide mission for himself and his regime”.

Mr Trump said: "We must work together against those who threaten with chaos and terror."
But today Kim personally responded to President Trump’s threat of totally destroying North Korea in a rare speech quoted by North Korean state media.
The despot lashed out at Trump calling him ”mentally deranged”, adding that the President’s comments were ”the most ferocious declaration of a war in history”.
He said: "I am now thinking hard about what response he could have expected when he allowed such eccentric words to trip off his tongue.

RUMORS OF WAR: Russia massing troops on North Korea border
Russia appears to be preparing for war as troops have lined up on the North Korea border just one day after Vladimir Putin’s nation fired a ballistic missile. A large number of soldiers were seen arriving near the Khasan crossing point between the two nations on Tuesday. Photos captured some of the troops patrolling the top of Zaozyonara Hill, a meeting point between Russia, North Korea and China. Russia is thought to be concerned at the build-up of US troops in South Korea as Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un
continue their war of words. Moscow has previously denied moved more troops to the border area as tensions between the US and Kim’s regime reach boiling point. Earlier this year, the movement of heavy weaponry towards the border was also caught on camera. Frants Klintsevich, the first deputy chairman of the Russian upper house’s Committee on Defence and Security, has warned that any US action against North Korea would also be seen as a hostility towards Russia due to their shared border.
