The Certainty of God’s Word
 
 
“You’ve heard that proverb ... ‘Time passes and prophecies come to nothing.’ ... Now give them this new proverb ...‘The time has come for every prophecy to be fulfilled!’ There will be no more false visions and flattering predictions in Israel. For I am the Lord! If I say it, it will happen ... The people of Israel are saying, ‘He’s talking about the distant future. His visions won’t come true for a long, long time.’... ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: No more delay! I will now do everything I have threatened!’” Ezekiel 12:21-28 NLT

The people of Judah had heard the prophecies, and were familiar with God’s warnings. Yet many weren’t worried, assuming that these prophecies never would come to pass.

Others had “false visions,” drawing their own conclusions. Some made “misleading predictions” that encouraged people to believe things that sounded good, but were misguided. Many simply did not think anything would happen in their lifetime.

God had a message for all of these people: They could speculate and interpret world signs in any way they wanted. They could live under false illusions and be comfortable with their incorrect conclusions. But none of these things would change His actions or the course of events. His Word was sure.

Many people today are deceived by these same kinds of false assumptions. They might be fooled into going along with the opinions of others, or drawing conclusions based on wishful thinking. But God wants us to place our trust in Him, and His unchanging Word. It always will come true, at a time that will fulfill His purposes.

As God told Isaiah, His Word “always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it” (Isaiah 55:11).

Right now, focus your hopes and confidence in God. His Word is true! No matter what others say, you can depend on Him.

Prayer
Father, I believe that Your Word is true. Help me to be freed of any false assumptions or drawing the wrong conclusions. You are God, and I trust You completely. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Pray that God would pour out a Harvest of blessings on Inspiration Ministries.
