A powerful and rare storm is barreling down on the Hawaiian islands … and liberals are already pointing fingers at President Donald Trump.

Hurricane Lane, a storm that is being tracked as Category 4 or 5 in intensity, was a few hundred miles away from Hawaii’s Big Island early Friday and expected to reach the 50th state over the weekend.

That’s a fairly unique situation for residents of the beautiful chain of islands. “Only 2 hurricanes have made landfall in Hawaii in the past 60 years,” reported FiveThirtyEight.

 Check out this Hawaii footage from a resident  already seeing flooding on their streets as Hurricane Lane tracks towards the islands. The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the area, where some regions can see upwards of a foot of rain.

Hurricane Lane may not have even made landfall yet, but that hasn’t stopped the left from becoming hysterical by pre-emptively accusing the president of ignoring the situation.

Yes, you read that right: Liberals are blaming Trump for bungling the disaster response to a storm that hasn’t even hit yet.

On Wednesday and Thursday, a shocking number of commentators used the historic storm to lash out at the president and try to link the Pacific island of Hawaii with the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico.

“It’s horrific that the strongest hurricane to ever approach Hawaii is nearing landfall — threatening a flooding disaster on par with the worst in American history — and I’m wondering if the President of the United States will send relief in time because they didn’t vote for him,” fretted meteorologist and writer Eric Holthaus.

There was apparently a lot of faux fear going around.

“Pretty scary that relief for that Hawaii hurricane will rest on whether Trump understands Hawaii is part of america or not,” lamented ShareBlue and MediaMatters writer Oliver Willis, who seemed unaware that FEMA exists even when the president isn’t in the room.

“And just a quick reminder for President Trump: Hawaii, like Puerto Rico, IS part of the United States and will require federal assistance if this hurricane hits,” chided Al-Jazeera journalist Kamahl Santamaria.

Don’t worry, Kamahl: It’s not like Trump thinks there are 57 states. That would be the other guy.

“As Hawaii braces for the the arrival of Hurricane Lane, Donald Trump offers it hush money to go away,” quipped another user on Twitter. OK, that one was actually funny.

Those “experts” seemingly missed the fact that President Trump had already approved an emergency declaration for Hawaii on Wednesday, well in advance of the storm.

“President Donald J. Trump declared that an emergency exists in the State of Hawaii and ordered Federal assistance to supplement State and local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from Hurricane Lane beginning on August 22, 2018, and continuing,” an official White House press release explained.

To nobody’s surprise, the left is all too eager to attack and mock the president, even when the indications are that everything is under control. That’s not unexpected, but it would be nice if partisan politics could be set aside until after everyone in Hawaii is safe.
