Senator Lindsey Graham says US should consider military response to Iranian attack on Saudi oil refinery
September 15, 2019 by Jerry McCormick
Iran continues to push the envelope, and now, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) believes it is time to make its leaders pay.

After Iran carried out an attack against Saudi oil refineries, Sen. Graham gave notice that he believes the United States should firmly consider retaliating with a military strike against Iran, according to The Hill.

It is now time for the U.S. to put on the table an attack on Iranian oil refineries if they continue their provocations or increase nuclear enrichment.

Pushing the Envelope
Iran is too cowardly to directly take on the United States, so the country continues to attack our allies. Several weeks ago, Iran captured several oil tankers that were traveling through the Strait of Hormuz.

While they’ve stopped short of actually attacking our vessels, they have regularly harassed them and have shot down one of our drones.
Now, the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels have attacked a Saudi Arabian oil refinery.
While the United States has done everything in its power to avoid an armed conflict with Iran, clearly the situation is changing, and it may be time to drop the gloves and give them what they are asking for.
The Trump administration has been putting the squeeze on Iran with sanctions, which were recently increased.
A recent report stated that pension funds will be bankrupt very soon in Iran if the sanctions are not lifted, and we also know the country’s economy is on the brink of collapse due to the sanctions.
Hit Them Where It Hurts
While the sanctions are doing some serious damage, it may be time to really hurt Iran by erasing one of its most profitable exports, namely oil.

As Graham has suggested, given that Iran took aim on Saudi oil capabilities, a strike in kind should be carried out.
Oil is obviously where Iran makes most of its money, with crude oil representing almost $40 billion of its export market, which is about 14 times the amount generated by its next closest export, ethylene polymers, at a mere $2.75 billion.
Iran may act like it wants to play with the big boys, but the United States can cripple the country in its entirety with a series of calculated strikes against the lifeblood of its economy.

Iran seizes another oil tanker in Strait of Hormuz as Gulf crisis erupts

Iran seizes another oil tanker in Strait of Hormuz as Gulf crisis erupts
(Express) – Iran is believed to have seized another oil tanker passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation is reporting another ship has been seized in the gulf. Correspondent Amochai Stein said on Twitter: “Iran has seized another oil vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard arrests a vessel and 11 crew on ‘diesel smuggling charges’.” It comes after Iran said accusations it had a role in the attack on Saudi oil installations were “unacceptable” and “baseless”, after a senior US official said the Islamic Republic was behind it.

“These allegations are condemned as unacceptable and entirely baseless,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said in remarks carried by state TV. On Sunday, a senior US official told reporters that evidence from the attack, which hit the world’s biggest oil processing facility on Saturday, indicated Iran was behind it, instead of the Yemeni Houthi group that had claimed responsibility. Donald Trump waded into the row by issuing a fierce warning to Iran that America was “locked and loaded” in a chilling response to the oil field attacks. Donald Trump waded into the row by issuing a fierce warning to Iran that America was "locked and loaded" in a chilling esponse to the oil field attacks.

The US President said on Twitter: "There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of the attack, and under what terms we would proceed."
He then said the US had 'PLENTY OF OIL!' despite the attacks on the fields.
