The Destruction of Death and the Grave.

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that [through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage].” (Hebrews 2:14-15)

To unpack these verses with the help of the Holy Spirit we wish to make three simple points.
1 Flesh and Blood. Immanuel.
2 Death the weapon to destroy him who had the power of Death.
3 Deliverance from the Bondage of Fear.

Flesh and Blood. Immanuel.

We chose the Title Immanuel for here because it means as I’m sure we all know, God with us, Christ came into the World to Save sinners, in order to accomplish that he had to partake in his creation so that he could make the one Sacrifice for sin.

To make Salvation complete Christ added humanity to deity, he was made of a woman, in a body of flesh and blood, the reason I am spending time on this is as a young believer I came across the doctrine of the Blood, set forth in a book called the chemistry of the Blood, the teaching is this, that if you had a sample of the blood of Christ you would have the DNA of Father God, the blood therefore was incorruptible, actually heard this at a Gospel meeting, the preacher said that Christ’s blood was holy blood and because the ground was cursed by God the blood could not touch anything corrupt, therefore angels caught the blood falling from the Cross, now it is not my intention to make fun of anyone’s beliefs, I know some lovely believers who take this view, I would not hurt a fellow believer for whom Christ has died.

This is not to say that they all believe the same thing, the trouble with leaven is it never stays small, but leavens the lump.

I believe this to be very clear, Christ did not take on the nature of Angels or Supermen, like the Man of Steel in fiction, but the lowly servant. The blood of Christ if such a thing could have been done would have been traced to his Mother, could never get through to my brothers what they were describing was natural generation, one brother told me that none of his flesh, that is Christ, could corrupt during his life, I asked him did he know what happens to a Jewish baby at eight days old, circumcision, but he said a lot of words which I still don’t understand.

Christ was a real man in every aspect of this life, the scriptures are very clear, he was crucified in weakness.

“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15)

Death the weapon to destroy him who had the power of Death

One aspect of Salvation not spoken about much is the fact that, in the Wisdom of God death was the weapon used to destroy the Devil who had the power over death.

The Death of Christ was so powerful and the Sacrifice so far-reaching that it was the death nail of the Empire of Satan.

The one and only Sinless Man broke the cycle of sin and Death. By his act of supreme obedience in the Garden of Gethsemane he has forever wiped out Adam’s disobedience in the Garden of Eden. By his Blood Sacrifice he has put away forever both Original Sin and Sins the individual has committed forever. It is upon the value and efficacy of Christ’s Sacrifice and Blood that John has a Vision of the risen Christ.

And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (Revelation 1:17-18)

The Keys there are the authority to open and close Death and the Grave.
Why then is the Devil not destroyed? The destruction of the Devil is set, he knows his time is short, but all Prophecy concerning him must be fulfilled according to the scriptures.

Deliverance from the Bondage of Fear

Faith in the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Christ has delivered the believers from a lifetime of fear and dread of death and the grave, the death of the saints from Adam have been in the care of God himself.

“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” (Psalms 116:15)

Please note (his saints) this highlights a relationship that not even death can sever.

When sin is finished it brings Death.

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Study of these scriptures and others in the Word of God, will teach us that there is no part in the make-up of a human being that is not subject to Death, except one, THE SPIRIT goes back to God upon Death. 
The Body the Soul the memory, the intellect, even the name and reputation perish in Death.
Deliverance from Death is only by Resurrection, or those alive at his Coming to the Air, by Rapture, No Death.
Our Resurrection is guaranteed by the Blood of Christ shed for sinners on the Cross of Calvary. When God raised our LORD Jesus Christ from among the dead, he declared to all that the sacrifice satisfied a Holy God. 
Christ now has the authority to open and shut Death and the Grave.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

The First concern those who die in the LORD, the second are those who will be Raptured at the Coming of the LORD to the Air, they shall never die.
