Help and Advice

Hi,

Here are a few of my likes and dislikes if anymore come up I'll post them up . : )

Likes

When room is made to allow the Holy Spirit to move in the service. Perhaps facilitated by a time / times in the service where prophecies or words of knowledge etc. can be given (in a sensible way overseen/monitored by leaders).An attitude where we actually expect God to do something. And not being frightened to allow this just because it’s an “all-age” service.

Dislikes

When the teaching is unbalanced – in that it is only really suitable for children or adults. I think its best if all ages within the service can connect / relate to the teaching in some way.

When attributes of God are missed out in the preaching / services. For example where ONLY the love of God is talked about and not His holiness and justice etc.

Hi Alan,
I read your post and been praying for you.
I agree children should not be excluded from Services.
I remember in the Salvation Army as a child to the side of the Pulpit there was a sandpit for the little ones and a few supervisors, I believe that even at a very young age although not directly being taught, is having the benefit of hearing.
For those a little older is able to participate in worship.
I hope sharing this will be an encouragement the testimony:
My daughter for example was just about 5 years old, we prayed together at bedtime, I would either sing or pray quietly myself before leaving the bedroom, when one evening just leaving when I thought she was asleep she called me back from the landing, saying Mum I am speaking welsh, I need to explain that we are from Wales and that some welsh words was being taught in school, but what had happened she was baptised in the Holy spirit and speaking in tongues.

I have not given likes and dislikes as you mentioned but if anything spring to mind will of course post.
I know that God will undertake for you and this opportunity will be blessed.

Hi to everyone,
An amazing opportunity has arisen for me to lead Sunday services from a small, but Christ centred, hall each week. I am nervous as I have never done anything like this and hope that all what is said glorifies his name.
The services will be "All Age" as I do not believe children should be separate from adults in worship; he is a God of all, so we should worship him together.
The position does not begin until September but I am thinking about what can be done to make services enjoyable for all.
If you can give some of your honest likes and dislikes about all age worship I will be very grateful.
