Was Abraham a friend of God? Are we friends of Christ?

John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

When the Lord was ministering me on the understanding of the term ‘friend’,
it took Him almost a month and with quite a few crazy events manifesting
around me, I did understand it.

Being worldly we many a times confuse ‘friendship’ relationship over and
above other relationships and this effect is seen even by Bible translators..

Firstly we need to understand almost whole of the NT (leaving for Gospel of
John) refers mostly to OT scriptures. So when James referred to Abraham as
‘friend of God’ he was referring to Isaiah 41:8 (2 Chronicles 20:7). When
we check the Hebrew word ‘ahab’ used in these scriptures it is not friend
but love / lover. We who are in Christ and thus descendants of Abraham by
faith are called the Lord’s Bride all because the Lord called Abraham and
us in him as His love.

The other place we see the extensive use of the term ‘friend’ with relation
with the Lord / Christ is in John 15. Here the Greek word translated as
friend is the word ‘Philos’.

The word Philos has multiple meanings.
a) A friend
b) An associate
c) He who associates familiarly with one, a companion
d) One of the bridegroom’s friends who on his behalf asked the hand of the
bride and rendered him various services in closing the marriage and
celebrating the nuptials

If we look at the context of the topic, Jesus is telling us about His
Father’s business. Intimate details of one’s business is not discussed with
friends but discussed with associates. In business terms an associate is a
person who runs business under the name (authority) and resources provided
by the main head of the organization. The associate is not a worker but has
a share in the profits of the organization. We see in v15 Jesus says He
does not call us servants (workers) but calls us ‘Philos’ (associates),
thus tells us about His Father’s business.

We need to remember Jesus and His disciples spoke mostly Aramaic or Hebrew.
Greek was a language of the Romans and of those outside Judea.

When we look at the definition of the term ‘friend’, it is a social
relationship between 2 people who are in good / close acquaintance with
each other. A friend cannot inherit another friend’s property. A friend
cannot call another friend’s father as his or her father.

We need to understand Jesus Christ is our Brother and we are His family,
adopted into it by His Spirit. Since we are family therefore we rightly
call God our Father. Also because we have family therefore we have right to
inheritance of God’s Kingdom.

Let us not use worldly relationship terms with Christ or God. Let us be
clear who we are in Him and who He is for us. If we do not have clarity of
our relationship then we will not have confidence to our inheritance.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are our Heavenly Father. We have right to call You Father because
Christ called us His brethren. We pray Lord we let not worldly terms and
understanding corrupt us from knowing who we are in You and our inheritance
in You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed
God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the
Friend of God.

Isaiah 41:8 But thou, Israel, [art] my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen,
the seed of Abraham my friend.

2 Chronicles 20:7 [Art] not thou our God, [who] didst drive out the
inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the
seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

John 15:1-15
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every
[branch] that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more
fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,
except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in
him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered;
and men gather them, and cast [them] into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will,
and it shall be done unto you.
8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be
my disciples.
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love..
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have
kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you,
and [that] your joy might be full.
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for
his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what
his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have
heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

John 20:17 Jesus saith to her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended
unto the Father: but go unto my brethren, and say to them, I ascend unto my
Father and your Father, and my God and your God.

Romans 8:15 For ye received not the spirit of bondage again unto fear; but
ye received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

A few that make the difference

Romans 9: 29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had
left us a seed {a few}, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto
Gomorrha.

The Greek word ‘dioko’ translated as ‘persecute’ means ‘to flee’ or ‘run
away’. When God said we as a Church will be persecuted He did not talk of
we being harmed but about we experiencing pressure or revolt from those who
hate us. Yet at times we read about Pastors and congregation being beaten
up in some places in India.

When we look at Mega Church administration and activity we see them
becoming like the Catholic Church an institute that has nothing to do with
the mission of Christ, it is all about self-expansion and worldly
prosperity.

When one who is rooted in the Word of God hears the preaching happening in
these Churches, he or she wonders where they come from; they sound very
good and may have one scripture for reference but when tested with another
that doctrine fails.

As a Church grows it is the only the Pastor’s wealth that increases but the
congregation spiritually remains stagnant and we know in stagnant waters
mosquitoes (temptations) breed and thus we find many falling away.

In today’s message Paul confesses a prophecy from Isaiah ‘but for a few the
whole church would have become an institute of fornication and perversion.

God always protects and keeps a few rooted in Him so that the whole does
not get destroyed by His wrath.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Merciful God. In your mercy You Lord do not destroy the
nonsense that is happening in your Name. You Lord have kept a few rooted in
You and your Word. Lord we pray You increase these few to many so that the
Church as a whole be obedient and pure...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Roans 9:27-33
27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children
of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
28 For he will finish the work, and cut [it] short in righteousness:
because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a
seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after
righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which
is of faith.
31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not
attained to the law of righteousness.
32 Wherefore? Because [they sought it] not by faith, but as it were by the
works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of
offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Praying in solitude

Mark 1:37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All [men] seek
for thee.

When it came to prayer we see Jesus prayed in solitude. He did go to
synagogues not to pray but to encourage and teach others.

Large part of our prayer life should be one of solitude where we have a one
to one conversation with the Lord. Those who spend more prayer time in
groups need to introspect their prayer life, their purpose and their faith.

Like an athlete does not win big races unless he or she practices alone
every day, if we want to have a powerful prayer life, where we want to see
results to every prayer then we need to spend more time in personal prayer.
We can prayer with others so as to teach them how to pray, or to partner
with them in their prayer requests, but that should not be the main stream
of our own prayer life. We should spend thrice or more time in personal
prayer as we do in a congregation.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Creator of all that exist. Lord You alone are our provider and
protector, all things come from You alone. Lord You are not man to be
decided by words, You see the thoughts and desires in the hearts of man.
You Lord are omnipresent and time is not a factor to You. You Lord know all
and see all. Lord we pray we fellowship with You on a personal level more
than we do with man. Teach us to pray better...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when
thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy
Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Matthew 14:23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a
mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

Matthew 26:36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane,
and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

Seasonable Betrayal

Mark 14: 11 And when they heard [it], they were glad, and promised to give
him money. And he sought how he might conveniently [seasonably] betray him.

When Judas betrayed Jesus, he was not an enemy of Jesus, he did not hate
Jesus but he loved Jesus and was loyal to him to some extent to leave his
family and risk being His disciple. We see in today’s message it speaks of
Judas being blinded by the money offer, so much that he compromised his
faithfulness towards Jesus. The scriptures speaks of a ‘seasonable’
betrayal by Judas.

Judas was not blinded by the love on that day but that little, little,
craving and stealing every now and then caused him to take the great step
to ‘seasonably’ betray Jesus. When he betrayed he had not realized to what
level he had betrayed and what would be the consequence. After betrayal he
realized it and killed himself not caring for the money.

If we look at our own lives we will see a part of Judas in us. How many
times do we twist scriptures and the truth so as to seasonably fulfil the
desires of the flesh?

Desires of the flesh, pleasures of luxury, of sight and of the mind (of all
senses) are always tempting us day in and out. If we are giving into those
temptations we are dangerously heading to the path of Judas. The Bible may
name very few anointed Men of God who betrayed the Lord even though they
loved the Lord but in real life the numbers are far greater in proportion
to those genuinely following the Lord.

It is very sad and depressing to hear stories of how people are falling
every now and then. Yesterday a bother in Christ whose brother pastors a
Church was sharing how his church experienced Corinth kind of situation. It
started with fasting and praying at a member’s place, then turned to
feasting and then into conference of malice towards those not present.

We need to daily audit our desires and need to keep them under control.
They may not be evil but if they are not edifying us spiritually even if
not seeming to harm us yet they need to be kept a tab on. We need to be
sober in things that are not spiritual edifying.

The Word of God says we are judge with little things so that we can be
found worth to be given greater things which is ours (inheritance) in
Heaven.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. The Heavens are your abode. All things in Heaven
are good and yet with good things a mightily anointed Cherub like Lucifer
fell and evil was found in him. With his fall he caused the fall of one
third of the hosts of the Heavens. Lord we pray we learn to discern not
only those we listen to, but also our every thought, our every action and
every word that comes out our mouth...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Thessalonians 5:5-11
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are
not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us watch and be
sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are
drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of
faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our
Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live
together with him.
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as
also ye do.

Titus 2:1-15

1 Corinthians 11:31-32
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should
not be condemned with the world.

From Servant to a Partner

Philemon 1: 15,16 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that
thou shouldest receive him for ever Not now as a servant, but above a
servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee,
both in the flesh, and in the Lord?

Today’s message talks of Onesimus who was a servant (not slave but working
on a bond/contract) of Philemon of Colosse, and was given unto Paul to help
him for some time since Paul was aged and in prison. As Onesimus was
ministering to Paul’s natural needs, Paul was ministering to him
spiritually and that had managed him so much that Onesimus now was an asset
to Paul spiritually. Onesimus had grown spiritual very fast, so much so
that Paul felt he would be able to edify even Philemon and the people with
him.

As with Onesimus we see another aspect with Paul himself. Paul who nurtured
Philemon along with Timothy as spiritual sons had found them to be now
mature persons spiritually. As Philemon had grown we see Paul now does not
consider him as a spiritual son or himself as his shepherd (Pastor) but
considers Philemon as a partner / an associate.

Spiritual relationship is not fixed and depends on one’s maturity other
than Calling. Callings do have a hierarchy but over and above it is the
spiritual growth. We can be spiritual mentors for others and later that
same person can be a mentor for us.

Authority in the Church is not demanded but demonstrated spiritually, like
faith is. True spiritual growth causes an authority to serve and not to be
served. True authority is like love which edifies and not just chastises a
person in error. True authority puts the purpose ahead of the person, while
respecting the person.

Let us learn from the examples given today. Let us understand if we are not
growing spiritually we are backsliding spiritually. Whatever Calling we may
have, that does not restrict our status in the Kingdom of God for if we
grow spiritually we can still scale great heights in God’s Kingdom.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a loving God, You are Spirit and your Kingdom is a spirit
kingdom. We who are made in the flesh see all things with natural eyes. We
pray Lord we see things more with our spiritual eyes than with our natural
eyes. We pray we respect and acknowledge people more for spiritual aspects
than their natural aspects. We pray we build each other so that we
ourselves grow in You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Philemon 1:9-19
9 Yet for love’s sake I rather beseech [thee], being such an one as Paul
the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
11 Which in time past was to thee unprofitable, but now profitable to thee
and to me:
12 Whom I have sent again: thou therefore receive him, that is, mine own
bowels:
13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have
ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:
14 But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be
as it were of necessity, but willingly.
15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest
receive him for ever;
16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially
to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
17 If thou count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
18 If he hath wronged thee, or oweth [thee] ought, put that on mine
account;
19 I Paul have written [it] with mine own hand, I will repay [it]: albeit
I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.

Philemon 1:1 Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, to
Philemon our beloved and fellow-worker,

Lacking Wisdom

Mark 4:13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then
will ye know all parables?

It is sometimes just astonishing when we see Christians including Church
leaders speak something without understanding it. They speak worldly
knowledge in great depth and it seems very convincing but when we put it in
line with Biblical truth the hollowness of their teachings are exposed.
When I cross question their understanding they ultimately tell me why do
you complicate simple things? They want to make God into a man and the
Kingdom of God a worldly kingdom. On the flip side they love this world
more than the Kingdom of God and just cannot let go of it.

The problem isn’t that the Bible is complicated but the problem is even
though they read the word red they will describe it as blue because from
childhood they are told by man blue is red. I too did that until I started
seeing things anew, not with a human mind.

At times I feel I am so blessed to have not born in a Believer family but
in a Catholic family because by understanding the deceit and manipulation
of scriptures and doctrines (teachings and traditions) in the Catholic
Church that today I do not accept anything at face value but cross check
everything with the scriptures. Coming out of the Catholic Church I still
see many of those things continued in the Believer churches irrespective of
their denomination.

In today’s message we see Jesus too got astonished with His disciples who
could not understand the simple parable of sower and the seeds, He started
to think of the other parables which He shared with them if they did
understand any of them.

Christians listen to Preachers more than listen to what scripture tells
them and due to this their understanding are programed to worldly lines.

Today’s message is not because I had discussion with a few people on
certain topics of late but today’s verse is given by the Lord asking us to
be not like the Apostles before they were baptized in the Holy Spirit. Even
after they were baptized in the Spirit they were not fully perfect in
understanding, Peter erred many a times that Paul had to rebuke him more
than once. Paul himself was not perfect and at times confused like in the
case when he had a vision of Heaven and thought he really was taken up. But
after baptism they grew in perfect understanding and at every stage we see
a better person a stronger person in them.

If we are truly baptized in the Holy Spirit then let the Spirit of God be
our revealer and teacher of all understanding. Let us spend more time with
the Holy Spirit to learn from Him than the time we spend with man to learn.
When Jesus Himself as man knew He would not be the perfect teacher, so
handed over His students to His Spirit - the Holy Spirit - the perfect
Teacher.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God and your Wisdom is unmeasurable. In your Wisdom
You Lord You have said ‘not by My Power, not by My Strength but by My
Spirit’. Lord we pray we understand the importance of learning from your
Spirit and growing in spirit. We pray we learn to submit to your Spirit...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 14:26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Spirit, whom the Father
will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things
to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Romans 11:30-36
30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained
mercy through their unbelief:
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they
also may obtain mercy.
32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy
upon all.
33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how
unsearchable [are] his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his
counsellor?
35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him
again?
36 For of him, and through him, and to him, [are] all things: to whom [be]
glory for ever. Amen.

Matthew 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your teacher, and all
ye are brethren.

Incarnation v/s Humbling

Philippians 3:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the
form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

There are words which origin from other languages and used in English
Bible, people do not know the exact meaning of the term yet use it. One of
these terms is ‘incarnation’ which is not a Biblical term.

Incarnation comes from the Latin word ‘Incarnare’ meaning ‘made flesh’.
This term is a pagan term where they believed a spirit (mostly dead human
or even demi-gods) comes as another person, animal or bird. Here the term
talks just of taking natural form and does not address any change to the
spirit being.

Can we use this term incarnation with the Lord coming as man Jesus Christ?

In today’s message we see the scripture speaks of God the Son coming as
man. If we read the scripture it does not simply say that God took the form
of man, it says He first ‘made Himself of no reputation taking the form of
a servant’ and it then says ‘He was made in the likeness of man’. These two
processes did not happen immediately. The Son did not become man in the
flesh in the start of creation but did so about 2000years ago, and if we
read scriptures we see they talk of Him humbling Himself and becoming a
sacrifice at the beginning of creation.

In John 17 Jesus speaks this humbling was about ‘lowering’ / ‘letting go
of’ His glory which He had with the Father before creation was. I stated
before the word Yahweh also is not a Biblical word but one created by the
Jews. The manuscripts have the alphabets YHWH and in Hebrew language it
means (H - Hey) Behold (W-Vav) Hand (H - Hey) Behold (Y- Yod) Nail. The
Jews did not understand the term was for Christ who was to come and become
our sacrifice, so they made it a name by adding vowels to it.

1 John 4:3 is translated in KJV from BYZ manuscripts as ‘every spirit that
confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God’ the
word flesh does not occur in the BGT manuscript. NAS translations comes
from the BGT manuscripts as ‘every spirit that does not confess Jesus is
not from God; and this is the spirit of the antichrist’.

BGT includes the LXX (Rahlfs) and the Nestle-Aland 27 text.
BYZ Byzantine Greek NT adopts readings that are found in the majority of
Greek manuscripts (this is a different philosophy than WH and NA27)

Both these manuscripts do not contradict but complement each other and
together specify the clear picture which Paul puts in today’s message.

Yes the humbled Lord was did come in the flesh but if we use the term
incarnate with Him, we land either denying He is Lord or denying He humbled
Himself before He became man.

Yesterday the Lord spoke to us about the transformation (born-again) we
need to have of the (our) spirit. Today the Lord is telling us to
understand this aspect of Christ so that we know what transformation the
Lord talks of.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are God, there is none other than You. Lord
we pray we understand your relationship with man as God the Father, God the
Son, God the Spirit, YHWH and as Christ Jesus. Lord we pray we are not
deceived by the teachings of man. We pray You open our eyes to the Truth so
that we know You better and grow in You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
[KJV] 1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is
come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist,
whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in
the world.

[NAS] 1 John 4:3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from
God; and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that
it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

Philippians 2:5-11
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with
God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a
servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became
obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which
is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven,
and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;
11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to
the glory of God the Father.

John 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the
glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose
names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the
foundation of the world.

John 8:58-59
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham
was, I am.
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and
went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Christians are called to be fools or be wise?

Ephesians 5:15, 16 Look therefore carefully how ye walk, not as unwise,
but as wise; redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

The word ‘fool’ / ‘fools’ / ‘foolishness’ occurs 13 times Paul’s letters.

If we look at most of the scriptures they may seem to glorify foolishness,
but if we understand them they specifically differentiate between worldly
foolishness and spiritual foolishness. We as Christians may be looked fools
because of our belief, not otherwise.

The Apostles of Jesus were fishermen but were not uneducated as people
think. All Jews are required to study their scriptures starting at the age
of 8 both male and female. When we study the teachings of Jesus in the
Gospels we see mixtures of historical and scientific facts. If one
understands the Hebrew language and OT scriptures, learning it requires one
to learn all various fields so as to understand it, it is for this reason
Jews are amongst the best in the world in almost all fields.

Christians are called to be educated, having understanding of all sciences,
historical, geographical and cultural (not rituals) knowledge of things.
What we believe in may sound foolish by this world but otherwise we are
called to be wise and well knowledge. Peter says we should be ready to
answer any person about our belief. Jesus said He gives us His Spirit - the
Spirit of Truth who brings us to all understanding.

In today’s message we find Paul advising us not to be unwise; this he says
not only in the spiritual sense but also in the natural sense for he uses
the words ‘the days are evil’.

Let us Christian pursue knowledge and understanding with the help of the
Holy Spirit so that we learn the good things and discern the evil things.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and All-knowing God. Your wisdom is beyond all
measures. You Lord have given us your Spirit - your Spirit of Truth which
reveals everything about your Kingdom. We pray we be children of the day
and not of the night. That we are not just filled with knowledge but with
wisdom and understanding...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the word of the cross is to them that perish
foolishness; but unto us who are saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:21 For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through
its wisdom knew not God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness
of the preaching to save them that believe.

1 Corinthians 1:23 but we preach Christ crucified, unto Jews a
stumblingblock, and unto Gentiles foolishness;

1 Corinthians 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and
the weakness of God is stronger than men.

1 Corinthians 2:14 Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the
Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them,
because they are spiritually judged.

1 Corinthians 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man thinketh that he
is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become
wise.

1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.
For it is written, He that taketh the wise in their craftiness:

1 Corinthians 4:10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in
Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye have glory, but we have dishonor..

2 Corinthians 11:1 Would that ye could bear with me in a little
foolishness: but indeed ye do bear with me.

2 Corinthians 11:17 That which I speak, I speak not after the Lord, but as
in foolishness, in this confidence of glorying.

2 Corinthians 11:21 I speak by way of disparagement, as though we had been
weak. Yet whereinsoever any is bold (I speak in foolishness), I am bold
also.

1 Thessalonians 5:5 for ye are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we
are not of the night, nor of darkness;

Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it], do not
cease to pray and make request for you, that ye may be filled with the
knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be
ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Fellow workers of the harvest

Romans 16: 3, 4 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who
have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give
thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.

When Paul was commissioned by the Lord he was given a specific harvest and
we read in Acts 9:15 it says children of Gentiles (non-Jews), kings
(rulers) and children of Israel (those little in Christ). If we understand
the works and writings of Paul, we will see he was very focused on his
harvest and thus did well.

In today’s message we read about Paul acknowledging the hand of Priscilla
and Aquila for helping him in his harvest, he goes to the extent of giving
them credit for all the work in Gentile churches.

Just last Sunday I was at a Catholic fair as part of a ministry
distributing NT to the lakhs of people that came throughout last week to
worship an idol of Mary. Large part of the crowd were Hindus and smaller
percentage were Catholics and Muslims. At the fair we met a couple and
their relative from another country (Muslim country) and they started
talking to one of the brothers who was distributing. They were in India for
some business work and came to the fair thinking it was a Christian fair.
As the brother spoke to them they confirmed they believed in Jesus and also
shared their desire to be baptized in Him. I was called to meet them and
speak to them. When I interacted with them I too saw a desire in them to be
baptized in Christ. I coordinated their baptism with the help of a brother
(who was in Pune at that time), for the next day but before getting them
baptized I explained to them about repentance, baptism in Christ and in His
Spirit above all the purpose of becoming a Christian.

Some friend of theirs in Paris had told them about Christ. In their country
they attended underground Church every Sunday. Initially as they spoke to
me they wanted Christ because they wanted to experience the peace of Christ
but after I finished with them their focus changed to Christ Himself. After
they were baptized I could see the transformation on their faces and they
truly experienced the Lord’s peace. As we prayed over them the Lord
revealed the husband and wife had a Calling of Apostle and Teacher
respectively on them. It was a great joy for us to be part of a team that
commissioned them.

Work of Christ in them started in Paris, continued in their country and
ended in India. There were numerous people involved in their coming to
Christ and each one did their part. Once they go back surely God would put
someone over them to minister to them in His Spirit. In Heaven we all who
labored in them would be rewarded not only for their souls but also for the
souls they bring in Christ.

Bible says in later days His grace will be more but that does not make God
unjust to those of the former days. If we understand harvest and how it is
credited we will realize the former get blessed greater for bringing in
good laborers who do harvest into the Lord’s Kingdom.

Next time do not just stop at bringing a person in Christ, make sure he or
she becomes a great harvester of the Kingdom of God; make him or her a
disciple of Christ.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God and the Lord of Harvest. You Lord select us and
commission us according to our heart and give us all the necessities to do
the work we are set for. Lord we pray we know our calling and our harvest.
We pray we give more importance to the quality and not just quantity. We
pray we do not just make Believers but make Disciples who do your work...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen
vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles and kings, and the
children of Israel:

Ephesians 3:1-7

Acts 18:2-3
2 And he found a certain Jew named Aquila, a man of Pontus by race, lately
come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded
all the Jews to depart from Rome: and he came unto them;
3 and because he was of the same trade, he abode with them, and they
wrought, for by their trade they were tentmakers.

Acts 18:26 and he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. But when
Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him unto them, and expounded unto
him the way of God more accurately.

1 Corinthians 16:19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla
salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came to them and spake unto them, saying, All authority hath
been given unto me in heaven and on earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them
into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit:
20 teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo,
I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

Eating for peace

Romans 14:19,20 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for
peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. For meat destroy not the
work of God. All things indeed [are] pure; but [it is] evil for that man
who eateth with offence.

In our last message the Lord spoke to us that the focus of our meetings
should not be about eating and drinking. Also we read the meal that the
Lord ate with His disciples as the ‘Last Supper’ was the Feast of
Unleavened Bread and it consisted of the emblems, unleavened bread and
unfermented grape juice.

In today’s message the Lord is telling us eating is not evil, but if one
eats with offence then it can be sin.

We as Christian should understand like we eat [unleavened] bread and drink
[unfermented] wine at the Lord’s Table as emblems so also our eating
[animal] meat in our everyday life is also a symbolism of accepting the
Lord’s sacrifice.

If we read Genesis, when God created man God did not instruct man to eat
meat, the Lord gave them the yield of the plants/trees as food. It was only
after Adam and Eve sinned and God clothed them with the skin of an animal
that they realized they had to consume meat as sacrifice. It was only after
this that Adam’s son Able started rearing animals (sheep, goats and cattle)
for the purpose of eating.

Paul clearly states in the last days people will destroy faith by the
concept of becoming a vegetarian along with other things like chastity.
Although God made all plant produce as food yet we eat meat so as to
understand the acceptance of the Lord’s sacrifice. If someone’s faith is
weak than we should not force the person to eat meat, but than that weak
faith needs to be dealt with. We cannot ignore a brethren suffering with
weak faith. We are called to edify him or her and help the person to grow
in faith.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, You are God and your wisdom is beyond measure. You Lord created the
Heavens, our creation and all that is within it. All things are made for a
purpose and we thank You Lord for making man for a greater purpose. Lord we
pray our faith grows to overcome our weaknesses. We pray the deceit of the
evil one be exposed and your truth come to light...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 14:2,21-23
2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak,
eateth herbs.
21 [It is] good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor [any thing]
whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
22 Hast thou faith? have [it] to thyself before God. Happy [is] he that
condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because [he eateth] not of
faith: for whatsoever [is] not of faith is sin.

1 Corinthians 8:8,12-13
8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the
better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak
conscience, ye sin against Christ.
13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while
the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

1 Timothy 4:1-5
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall
depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of
devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot
iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, [and commanding] to abstain from meats, which God
hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and
know the truth.
4 For every creature of God [is] good, and nothing to be refused, if it be
received with thanksgiving:
5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

What is the focus of your Prayer Meetings / Gathering?

1 Corinthians 11: 22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or
despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I
say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise [you] not.

Before we get into the message let us understand the background of how the
early Christians met.

The houses were built in such a way that the family rooms like kitchen,
family bedroom were on the ground floor. The house had a room on the top
called the upper room which was like the guest room or drawing room where
they met the guest. There was an external ladder to this room.

The early Churches met in upper rooms of various Christian houses. It was
normal to organize food or drinks (grape juice - unfermented wine) at these
meetings. Paul was not against having snacks or refreshing drinks but was
against those who focused on these things or abused them. They gave more
attention to the food than to the purpose of these Christian meeting; they
served fermented grape juice (actual wine).

We need to understand when Jesus had the Last Supper with His Disciples, He
was celebrating the Feast of unleavened bread. As per the rules of the
feast leavened was not allowed in the bread nor in the wine. So the bread
was an unleavened bread and the wine was just fresh grape juice. These were
emblems and by changing an emblem we can misrepresent what we are
representing. Emblems are designed with meaning and every part of it is
important, changing anything becomes a case of misrepresentation. Can a
Kingdom or country or institute use the emblem of another?

When we come together, be it a ‘prayer meeting’ or ‘Church service’, let
our priority be in its right order. It is not wrong to organize
refreshments to encourage fellowship, but when the focus is only on this
then it is better to stop them. Let us introspect ourselves after these
meetings what are we more full of - Spiritual food or earthly food?

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Holy God. You are Spirit. Lord You desire your
children be led by yoru Spirit and overcome the flesh. You do not desire
self-flagellation or sacrifice or fasting or penance. You desire the truth
in us. We pray Lord You open our eyes to see the focus of our meetings and
what are we full of at the end of these meetings...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Corinthians 11:19-34

Leviticus 10:1-2
1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer,
and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire
before the LORD, which he commanded them not.
2 And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died
before the LORD.

Matthew 26:17 Now the first [day] of the [feast of] unleavened bread the
disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare
for thee to eat the passover?

Being on one understanding

Phillipians 4: 2 I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of
the same mind in the Lord.

Yesterday I started Bible classes at a sister’s place in Navi-Mumbai and
this was my first at her place, thus had no idea of the people there and
what their foundation was. I prayed to the Lord as to what topic I should
take and what I was given put me into a great dilemma. The topic may seem
simple yet is the most complex - Who is Lord Jesus Christ. My problem was
what to take and what to avoid. But since the Lord had given me the topic I
took the courage to try to cover everything the Lord has taught me on it.
These people were not new in the Lord, the things I revealed shocked and at
the end they had to unlearn to learn. I covered almost 70% of what I
carried and 100% of what the Lord wanted me to share with them. It was only
the grace of God that I could achieve this and greater the grace that was
on them to receive it.

As I was revealing things yesterday people realized they were more
controlled by Church teaching (mostly rooted from the RC Church and Jewish
traditions) than that which the Word of God says.

We have varying understanding because we do not have the same teacher that
is the Spirit of God. When people are told this, they get very upset and
think there is arrogance in the words. They need to realize, can the Spirit
of God teach anything contrary to scriptures?

In the OT the Lord called those who did not adhere to God’s Word as
‘Stiff-Necked’. In Exodus 33:5 the Lord gives a reason for people being
stiff necked and He says because they have decorated themselves with
ornaments. The Lord did not mean literal ornaments but meant people thought
themselves to know everything and there was nothing more left for them to
learn. It is for this reason Churches have repetition of message again and
again and nothing new is shared to the congregation. The gift will be the
same only the packaging will change.

Today’s message talks of two sisters having varying understanding. These
women were not novices but fellow workers of Paul’s own ministry. They were
people who moved along with Paul from one place to another to share the
Gospel.

The Lord is telling people to put aside their own understanding and lessen
to Him. It is only when we humble ourselves before the Lord with a thirst
to know more, will we be able to receive from Him and be of one
understanding.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are Perfect and there is none other
than You who is Perfect. We pray Lord we realize how little we are and how
much more there is for us to gain from You. We pray we put our fleshy
persons aside and let our spirits be ministered by You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Exodus 33:5 For the LORD had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of
Israel, Ye [are] a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of
thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments
from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.

Phillipians 4:3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women
which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and [with] other
my fellowlabourers, whose names [are] in the book of life.

Putting away the lying man

Ephesians 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with
his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

After a person is baptized in the Holy Spirit one of the things that the
person finds difficult to do is to lie. Lying as described by the Bible is
‘to speak deliberate falsehoods’ or ‘to deceive one by a lie’. Being
baptized does not mean we will not confront the problem with lying.

I have seen Preachers exaggerate events so as to make things interesting to
the audience. Initially they do not realize the danger of this path for
slowly they start with misreporting events and then land up fabricating
them outright.

Bible states one of the key characteristics of Satan is that he is a liar.
Can we be a disciple of Christ and yet entertain the characteristics of
Satan? Paul also says in the later days (the days we dwell in) other than
seducing spirits, doctrines of devils, promoting chastity and vegetarian as
way of purity, we will see people (leaders) speaking lies in hypocrisy as
if they have their conscience seared with a hot iron. Bible equates lying
to stealing.

Let us be conscious of the dangers of lying. If we cannot speak out the
truth it is better to shut up then to speak a lie.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Holy God. You desire your children to be holy for
You are Holy. You God are Truth and You also desire your children to speak
the truth. We pray Lord we project You as our Father and not the Devil by
speaking lies like him...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Leviticus 19:11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one
to another.

Proverbs 12:19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying
tongue is but for a moment.

Proverbs 21:6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity
tossed to and fro of them that seek death.

Jeremiah 9:3 And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they
are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to
evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye
will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth,
because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of
his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

1 Timothy 4:1-3
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall
depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of
devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot
iron;
3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God
hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and
know the truth.

Natural and Spiritual Father

1 John 2:13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is
from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome
the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known
the Father.

When Catholics call their priest by the term ‘father’, we see Believers
instruct Catholics about Matthew 23:9 which states we have only one
‘father’, which is in Heaven, but interestingly Believers call those who
minister to them spiritually as their ‘spiritual fathers’!

John here in today’s message is mentioning about natural fathers. When
Jesus said call no one on earth your father He did not tell us not to call
our natural fathers as ‘father’ but spoke about calling someone our
spiritual father. The Greek word ‘pater’ - father has multiple meanings and
3 main amongst them is creator, provider & protector.

We as spirit beings have been created by God so no one other than God is
our creator. We as seeds were from the beginning assigned to and are bought
into this world though a man who is our natural father and the person
through whose womb we got our natural bodies is our natural mother.

Although our father or mother or guardian or XYZ may be working to provide
for us but it is God who makes the provision through them, so our true
provider is Him; same with our protection He alone is or true protector.

Coming to spiritual father or mother. Those who minister to others can
consider them as their spiritual children/sons/daughters but then that does
not make that person their spiritual father or mother. We as shepherds
represent the one and only true shepherd which is Christ the moment we call
ourselves their spiritual father or mother we are removing Christ and
putting ourselves in His place. We as Pastors / Shepherds are simply
representatives and not replacements. In OT the elders of the tribes were
called ‘fathers’, it was not a spiritual title. The Hebrew alphabet Lamed
symbolizes the shepherd in ancient Hebrew was written as a shepherd’s staff
is a hooking position, means to Teach, Yoke, Bind, Toward (lead) so
symbolizes a teacher, a guide, a corrector.

God is also called El-Shaddai which is translated as Almighty God but when
one goes into the Hebrew term shaddai it means ‘breasted one’. God is not
human, so is neither male nor female as in natural terms. He is called
Father; man is made in His image and woman is a man with the ability to
reproduce and nurture, but made from the bone (nature) of man. Jesus said
in Heaven we will be neither male nor female but will be like the Angels so
there is no ‘Heavenly mother’.

Jesus is the only human other than Adam (thus called the last / second
Adam) who had neither a father nor mother (Hebrews 7:3 refers about Christ
not Melchisedec as born without father or mother). He was born in the womb
of Mary but she was not His natural mother but was His surrogate mother
that is why when He was upset over her forcing Him to make water into wine,
He called her ‘woman’ and asked what relationship did she have with Him?
The term ‘virgin’ is not to do with just the hem being broken, not had
intercourse external but also internal process of becoming mother.

It tempts me when I minister to Catholics to tell them if ever they meet
Mary in Heaven she will not be a she but will be our brethren as the Angels
in Heaven. But when these people do not understand the basics which is
visible then it is of no use speaking to them the hidden things.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You alone are God and You alone our or Spiritual Father. You God are
our creator, protector and provider. You God created us but bought us into
this world through a human father leaving for Christ who had not earthly
father nor mother. Lord we pray we do not replace You in our lives by
calling any man our spiritual father or mother...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your
Father, which is in heaven.

1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a
living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Matthew 22:29-30
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the
scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage,
but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Hebrew 6:20, 7:1-5
20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high
priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who
met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by
interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem,
which is, King of peace;
3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither
beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God;
abideth a priest continually.
4 Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch
Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.
5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of
the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according
to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins
of Abraham:

John 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine
hour is not yet come.

Matthew 1: 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn
son: and he called his name JESUS.

Asleep in the Lord

1 Thessalonians 4: 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren,
concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which
have no hope.

In the English language we have 3 tenses and in the Greek language we have
7 tenses. When we understand these issues we will understand the problems
with translations. It is for this reason Christians are recommended to
study biblical languages so that they have the right interpretation of the
scriptures. Wrong scripture interpretation and wrong/lack of historical
inputs are key reasons of theological misunderstanding between
denominations.

Bible says man can enter Heaven only when mankind (those who are chosen) is
restored as a body on Judgment Day. We all enter Heaven together as His
bride yet we see due to improper translations we have people thinking any
person who dies they immediately go to Heaven. This concept has influenced
even other religions so much so that Hindus who actually believe in the
Cycle / Chakra of Life - karma (rebirth according to one’s doings) and
Mukti / release from this chakra, also refer to their dead as Swargiya /
resident of heaven.

In the Old Testament we have Samuel (spirit of Samuel) who was ‘bought UP’
by a woman into deviation spirits practices (she did not have powers to do
it, for she herself was shocked; they normally communicate with evil
spirits and not the dead). We see also David is referred in Acts and not
yet ascended to Heaven. Stephen the martyr even though said ‘Lord receive
my soul’ is said to have slept when he died. All the Men of God in
Pentateuch (5 books of Moses) when they died are referred to have been
‘gathered to his people’, the others who did not believe / remain in the
Lord we read simply written as they died. When Jesus shared the parable of
beggar Lazarus and the rich man, we see He says the rich man was in Hell
and Lazarus was taken unto the ‘bosom of Abraham’, not bosom of God.

Sleeping in the Lord means moved to another realm of God’s creation when is
below ours but above Hell. This realm is referred to as Grave / Sea (of
dead). This is not to be taken as Purgatory a concept believed by
Catholics. Catholics believe in penance which is unchristian and purgatory
is based on penance. Repentance has nothing to do with penance. Repentance
is about following the right path on knowing one is wrong but penance is
about paying the price of the wrong.

Bible says those who believe in the Lord as saved from Hell and sleep in
the Lord. Sleeping in Grave is not actually sleeping where one is not
conscious for we see Samuel was aware of the things that was happening.
Those who sleep in Grave do not suffer but are in spiritual inertia even
though conscious.

Man is forbidden to communicate with those who are asleep and that is why
Jesus had to transfigure to speak to Moses and Elijah [what they
communicated is not written and thus not of importance, the event was, for
our understanding]. Our lack of the various levels / realms of heavens /
creation and true understanding of salvation are a cause of our
misunderstanding. Paul knew the dangers of this misunderstanding therefore
in his letter to Thessalonica warned them about this.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and Heavens is your dwelling place even though You are
omnipresent. Bible says the Upper Heavens is your throne and earth (our
creation) is your footstool. Lord we pray we understand creation more
correctly and understand salvation and its purpose...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Genesis 25:8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age,
an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.

Genesis 35:29 And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto
his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried
him.

Numbers 27:13 And when thou hast seen it, thou [Moses] also shalt be
gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered.

Psalms 3:5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.

Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith
himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Luke 16:22-23
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the
angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham
afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep,
but we shall all be changed,

Acts 7:59-60
59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus,
receive my spirit.
60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this
sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-17
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them
which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also
which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are
alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which
are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the
voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ
shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with
them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be
with the Lord..

2 Peter 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the
fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of
the creation.

Theological Devils

John 8:48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that
thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?

We know India as a spiritual country having many religions and think this
is an asset. There are people who claim to be spiritual people but when the
fact is put to them that even demons are spirit beings, they get upset.

In Christianity we see there are people who think they know everything and
become unteachable, Jesus faced the same situation with the Jews, God
referred to such people as Stiff-Necked.

When Christians debate with others and find the other person’s
understanding does not go along with what they hold then they immediately
consider the other person a heretic and even demonic. Catholics are
brainwashed to believe ‘Protestants’ are people with demons and worship the
devil, this fact is put into their heads so that they do not listen to
Believers and do not come to know the truth. We see between the Jews
(people of the Kingdom of Judah) and Samaritans (people of the Kingdom of
Israel) was the same case, one thought the other to be demonic.

Jesus was of the tribe of Judah so was a Jew but since He and His mother
dwelt in Galilee (home town of Mary and shifted there after the death of
Joseph her husband) He was thought to be a Samaritan. We see here the Jews
accuse Jesus have a demon just because He may have been a Samaritan.

We may think these people were demonic to think Jesus was having a demon,
if we go by that fact then questions will be raised against Mary and her
sons who we read in Mark 3 believed this fact and came running to see the
wellbeing of Jesus. Even though Mary was told by an Angel who Jesus was and
she confessing Him as her Savior, saw great miracles done by Him yet she
for a moment fell into believing there was a problem with Jesus, her faith
was lost for a moment and this did upset Jesus.

Firstly let us not be insane to think we know all and if someone does not
agree with us think they are demonic. Secondly every person doing evil or
doing something wrong is not demon possessed, people lacking knowledge of
the truth or are carnal in nature do wrong. Thirdly always remember
accusing any person wrongly for being demon possessed or not being a child
of God is a serious matter and may even cost us our salvation.

My title for today’s message is a serious matter which exist today,
Christians have caused denomination between them and caused Churches to
break up thinking everyone else is demonic. May we learn to discuss
theological matters across the table and learn from each other, while
proving every understanding through scriptures. Bible recommends people who
have Calling of Teachers be a theological support to a Church, building it
day to day. Paul had a Calling of an Apostle, head the core administration
team and also the privilege to have many personal encounters with Christ /
Angel directly yet we see he sought help of Teachers like Luke, Mark and
others to understand and be built in scriptures.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are Perfect. Lord we pray we know humility
and be aware of our limited understanding. Let us learn to build others and
not be self-centric. Let us learn to discuss and grow in the truth...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Mark 3:30-33
30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.
31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without,
sent unto him, calling him.
32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy
mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?

Matthew 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother
without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say
to his brother [saved person], Raca [without spirit / not a child of God],
shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool
[having an demonic spirit], shall be in danger of hell fire.

Life and Death unto the Lord

Romans 14:7, 8 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to
himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we
die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

Yesterday the Catholics were celebrating the feast of the Assumption of
Mary. They believe Mary did not die but was lifted up to Heaven!

These people are just hilarious they make such claims and at the same time
during their ‘Holy Land’ pilgrimage they burn candles and offer flowers at
the tomb of Mary. They have made a Church at that place named ‘Church of
the Sepulchre of Saint Mary’ which is at the foot of the Mount of Olives in
Kidron Valley.

When we get to the Greek words of today’s scripture it does not talk of
spiritual life or spiritual death but of natural life and natural death.
Bible says every person has to see natural death.

There are cases like that of Elijah and Enoch who were taken up (not to the
Upper Heaven but a realm that is over our creation but below the Upper
Heavens - a transit level). Bible says Elijah came as John the Baptist and
saw death, it also indicates that Enoch and another character who did not
see death (from NT) would come as the two witnesses - the key people who
truly overcome and trigger the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ with
His Angels/Saints. Paul talks of a mystery during the second coming of
Jesus Christ where those who are alive and saved will not see death but
will be transformed (transfigure).

Currently I am studying the Hebrew language. The Hebrew alphabets have
numerical values and are also used as numbers. In Bible Numerical Study
numbers have symbolic meanings like one symbolizes God, five symbolizes
man; and when we take the Hebrew text of the Bible we see all sentences if
added up denote the number 8 which symbolizes born-again / spiritually
renewed man.

The purpose of the Bible and the sacrifice of Christ is to renew man
spiritually, that means remove the corruption by restoring the Fruits of
the Holy Spirit in man. Mankind cannot enter the Kingdom of God unless man
is restored (where the rule of God is truly abided by - the topmost 3
levels of Heavens which Paul calls as three Heavens / third Heavens). We
all enter Heaven as one body as His bride to be part of Him only after
Judgment Day.

Bible says no one has descended from or ascended to Heaven other than
Christ for He alone is perfect and without blemish/corruption. In Acts we
see even David is not calmed to have ascended to Heaven all sleep in Him
until Judgment Day (even Stephen did). All claims made by people to have
died and visited Heaven and returned are unbiblical and one will find many
faults in them when scrutinized. Paul for an instance too did make such a
claim and then realized he was mistaken and put it as a vision.

Today’s message tells us we need to get this into us, this natural life has
a purpose and that purpose is to be renewed in Christ so that we can enter
Upper Heavens where we can have access to the Tree of Life (symbolic tree
having the 12 Fruits of the Holy Spirit) and thus enjoy eternal life (eat
of it as an when required; eternal life is not by eating of it just once).
One will find Satan who hates the plans of God for man will either get man
to focus on enjoying his natural life and not be renewed in spirit, or
cause hurdles in his process of being born-again / renewed in spirit. Let
us not let Satan have victory over us and know our purpose of this natural
life.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God who is seated on the Holy of Holy place in
Heaven. You Lord desire man to be renewed in spirit so that he can not only
restored his access to Heaven but be lifted up to be glorified in You. Lord
we pray we do not lose the purpose of this life and remember it is all
about being renewed in You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down
from heaven, the Son of man which is in heaven.

Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith
himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Ephesians 4:
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity
captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into
the lower parts of the earth [creation]?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all
heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Revelation 11:11-13
11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered
into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them
which saw them.
12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up
hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld
them.
13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of
the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and
the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

2 Corinthians 12:2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago,
(whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot
tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at
nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of
Christ.

Doers shall be justified

Romans 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the
doers of the law shall be justified.

When the word ‘Law’ is spoken in the Bible people think of the Ten
Commandments. If we look at the Ten Commandments breaking any one of them
the punishment is the same that means a person who worships other gods or
does idol worship is as good as the one who is a murderer or does adultery.
Even the sin of stealing, lying or taking the name of the Lord in vain is
as serious as murder. There are some Commandments we see not mentioned
amongst the ten, like homosexuality where God said the person will be cut
out from His people (will not enter Heaven).

The word sin in both Greek and Hebrew means ‘missing the mark’, it also
matters in what tense the word is rendered in to know its seriousness.
Broadly we have sins like grieving the Holy Spirit which are not forgivable
and then there are also sins which John in his letter states as sins that
do not lead to death (these are sins which constitute in breaking
statutes). In simple words breaking the command of God or any instruction
of God is considered sin. The Word of God is God’s instruction to mankind.

In the book of Jeremiah, God says in the later days He will write His Law
in the hearts of man, meaning He will talk to man like He spoke to the
Prophets of the OT and whatever He puts in the heart of man is considered a
Commandment, not abiding in it is considered sin.

Today’s message tells those who believe in the Lord, study His Word, preach
His Word are not the ones who will be justified - made righteous, but only
those who are doers of the Commandment, those who follow the Word of God.

A Preacher may preach and turn the hearts of others, cause them to abide in
the Word of God and thus enter the Kingdom of God but if the Preacher
himself does not abide in the Word, he will not go to Heaven.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Holy God and the Heavens are a holy place. You God desire
man be restored and the corruption caused by sin be removed. You God gave
us your Word for restoration but You knowing man by himself cannot abide in
the Word, thus You gave man a Helper (Holy Spirit) to help him abide in the
Word. Lord we pray we understand unless we do not surrender to your Word
and your Spirit there is no way we can enter your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Exodus 20:3-17

Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the
house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in
their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God,
and they shall be my people.

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 15 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Post  Admin Thu 09 Aug 2018, 10:06 pm

Many due to one

Romans 5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by
the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

In Islam woman are considered evil mainly because of Eve, they feel it was
Eve who bought sin into this world. Islamic text stats their prophet saw
Hell full of women. We as Christians may be amused at such statements but
do we not have some of our own amusing ones.

Today’s message talks of due to one man’s disobedience many were made
sinners. We assume we are sinners because Adam sinned!

Bible says each man is guilty for his own sin, father will pay for his own
sin and son his own, father will not pay for the sons nor son for the
father’s. But we also have scriptures which state the Lord will visit the
sins of the father to the son, unto his 4th generation. These statements
may seem contradicting all because we do not differentiate between sin and
sin nature. Since son comes from the father (seeds are in the father before
conceived in the womb of the mother) the nature of the father (good and
bad, blessings and curses) are inherited by the children (the mother’s
nature is transferred via the father since they become one).

In medicine we are aware of hereditary sicknesses, similarly spiritual
nature to sin is also transferred. It is not necessary because the nature
of robbing is transferred that the son has to rob. We need to understand
nature has to be abided into to become it. That means the son will be
tempted to rob more because the father robbed, but if the son resisted the
nature over a period his generations will be more immune to robbing.

The word ‘Adam’ is a Hebrew word and means ‘man’. Adam was not the name of
the first being, it became his name since there were none other. Eve came
from Adam since God created her from his bone. Genesis 5:2 says the day God
created Adam He called all his generations ‘Adam’. The scripture does not
mean God gave the name ‘Adam’ to all of mankind but says the nature of Adam
was on all mankind and this happened before Eve was made and before they
had both sinned but when they sinned this nature got corrupted and thus we
have inherited a corrupt nature. We become sinners by our own doings when
we abide into that nature. We can blame Adam for the sin nature but not for
our sins. We are sinners out of our own doings.

Now coming to the second part of ‘by the obedience of one shall many be
made righteous’. Here too we have distorted the meaning and assume by doing
nothing we will all become righteous. The Greek word baptisma (baptism)
like I explained before was a term used in dying of clothes where the cloth
is dipped in a dye and takes on the color of the dye. When we believe in
Christ and are baptized in Him we are called to be more like Him putting on
His nature. That means it is not by just believing in Jesus Christ but by
following Jesus Christ we move towards being called his righteous
(inheritors to the Fruit of Righteousness which we will get on Judgment
Day).

Let us stop claiming Christianity and Heaven by our verbal claims but claim
it by our walk in Christ. It is only when we do the will of the Father we
become more like Christ and thus true inheritors of His Kingdom. We
overcome evil not by confronting it but overcome it by doing good (not in
worldly sense but spiritual sense).

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are Holy, Righteous and Truth. Your
Kingdom is a holy Kingdom and anything corrupt cannot dwell before and
still live. You Lord removed us from your presence so that man could be
restored and brought back into your presence. Lord we pray we understand
the purpose of the sacrifice of Christ and the importance of His Spirit.
Let us understand there is no trsnformation without the working of the
Spirit...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Genesis 5:1-2
1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created
man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name
Adam, in the day when they were created.

Ezekiel 18:4,17-20
4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul
of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
17 That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received
usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes;
he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.
18 As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by
violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he
shall die in his iniquity.
19 Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When
the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my
statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live.
20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the
iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the
son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the
wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Exodus 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I
the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers
upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Numbers 14:18 The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving
iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting
the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth
generation.

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 15 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Servants submit to your master, even those who are harsh!

1 Peter 2:18,19 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not
only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. For this is
thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering
wrongfully.

Once I was preaching at a Church and as I was preaching the Lord was
opening up verses and words from the Bible which shocked me; I was
preaching to myself since the congregation did not get head nor tail of
what I was speaking. The congregation was ‘lukewarm’ (all the front rows
were empty while the last rows were full, the people were there to fulfil
their duty) and the Lord was not speaking to them but to me who had gone
there to speak to them! This preaching was a turning point of my
understanding of the Bible and a grave misconception we have of the Bible,
it was to do with slavery.

People have a misunderstanding that the Lord supported slavery and
commanded the Israelites to take the enemy or those who failed to pay a
loan as slaves. Slave is a person who does not have any rights or
privileges, he or she is owned by his or her master. When I studied every
slave / servant word in Hebrew or Greek (OT and NT) connected to the
Israelites / Christians or of God instructing them, I found only two words
that actually meant slaves and these were in the book of Revelation and
that too used for carnal slavery where a person has sold oneself to one’s
evil desires.

Words translated as slave or servant have different meanings and specify
what kind of servant. Take for instance today’s message, it very
specifically uses the Greek word ‘oiketes’ which specifies those servants
who dwell in the house of the master. Preachers use this verse to advice
those working in an office to bear the atrocities of their bosses but that
is not what this scripture means. This verse talks of those who are in
contract labor / under a bond or those who have taken money in advance from
their bosses /masters against promised service, these people are advised to
honor their commitments even in harsh situations.

Concerning to Israelites / Jews, people were not sold but their services
were. A Jew was not allowed to keep a servant (even those taken as hostage
in a war) more than 7 years and were under obligation to release the same
every 7th Jewish calendar year after paying them well. Even if the person
returned on his or her free will, the person was taken back, not considered
as a servant but an extended member of the family, having privileges.

As Christians we are called to pray for our enemy but that does not mean we
are called to bear discrimination or wrongdoings in silence. Jesus did not
speak a word during the events leading to His crucifixion for He knew it
was prophesied and was the will of the Father, but otherwise when people
spoke against Him He did revert back to them, but with intentions not to
harm them, but either to justify His stand or to enlighten them to the
truth.

We as Christians are not called to be silent recipients of evil; we are
called to give a violent response not in the natural but in the spiritual
way; in the natural we are called to be gentle / civil. Our purpose,
primarily should be to save the enemy from the actual harm they are doing
to themself by the evil they are doing towards us. We should always
remember that the Father protects us and vengeance is the Lord’s, so we
should save them from the Father’s wrath.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Omnipresent and Omnipotent God. You know all, see all and
nothing is impossible for You. Lord we pray we acknowledge You as a Living
God present in and in control of every situation. Help us to know how and
when to respond. We pray we understand it may be one of your lost sheep who
is behaving like a wolf like in that case of Paul Saul. We pray we
understand all things come from the spiritual and manifest in that
natural...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 5:43-48
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour,
and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do
good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you,
and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he
maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the
just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even
the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do
not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is
perfect.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and
scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any
means hurt you.

Romans 12:17-21
17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight
of all men.
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men..
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto
wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him
drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 15 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Not just Heirs but Joint-Heirs

Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with
Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified
together.

We still have to get into us the understanding of marriage and since we
have not understood it we do not have an understanding of our Heavenly
marriage to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Marriage is a Christian sacrament, what other religions have is a contract
where each party makes a commitment to fulfil certain tasks.

In the Bible God initiated marriage so that we understand our relationship
with Him, man could have just reproduced like animals do and also had a
loving, responsible and committed relationship like many animals do (some
have only one partner their whole life and few of them grieve and die when
their partner dies).

Today’s message talks of children and thus heirs; the previous verse says
unless the Spirit witnesses us as His children we do not become children of
God. People think since all are created by God thus all are His children.
This is not true. Satan too is God’s creation but is an adversary to His
people (not to God - put to God’s plans which involves His people).

We becoming children of God and heirs, does not guaranty us actually
inheriting His Kingdom. A child is an heir but a child cannot inherit, the
child needs to grow up and mature to become a legal heir. Since we are
speaking here of a spiritual Kingdom thus we are required to grow / mature
spiritually.

If we read v19 it says the world awaits the revelation of Sons of God and
this verse has profound depth. If only we understand it we will know why we
are called to reach out to the lost and build others in Christ. We will
realize we are not doing others a favor but to ourselves, it is all about
team work across generations with a captain named Lord Jesus Christ who
leads us.

Many people boast of their spiritual maturity, they will be humbled when
they realize God requires we (whole mankind) produce only 2 persons of
spiritual maturity that is acceptable to the Lord to be considered as Sons
[who know the Truth]. Once we achieve this task we will almost immediately
see Christ coming again in His glory with His Saints/ Angels.

Since Satan used deception against Adam and Eve and succeeded, Lord could
not intervene, but since deception does not work with the two whom we
produce and Satan uses his power, the Lord Jesus Christ comes as man (Ishi
not Adam) with His Saints/ Angels in His glory and causes Satan (dragon and
the beast) and their angels to surrender to fulfil the prophesy of man
(mankind) crushing the head of the serpent (deception/deceiver).

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. Nothing is impossible for You yet You Lord use
insignificant man for the expansion of your Kingdom. Lord we pray we
understand the purpose of marriage and thus understand why we need to work
as a body building each other in You, may we understand it is a matter of
our eternal life and death if we do not do it...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 8:15-19
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye
have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the
children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;
if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to
be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the
manifestation of the sons of God.

1 Corinthians 15:51-57
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all
be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the
trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put
on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this
mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the
saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord
Jesus Christ.

Killing the Faith

Galatians 4:10,11 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am
afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

Yesterday I had a person who was very close to me and my family, she was my
neighbor but since 15 years had moved to the US. She had not known I had
left the Catholic Church and when she came to know she was just shocked.
She being from a Hindu background but learnt in a Catholic convent was
asking me about all the Catholic rituals if I followed them. She was so
shocked that I did not celebrate any of the Catholic rituals or feasts.
Only thing she stopped from asking me was, if I did anything (in sense of
rituals) as a ‘Protestant’ Christian?

People do not understand God hates rituals for they kill the faith. Paul
wrote not only against doing pagan ritual but wrote also to the former Jews
of Galatia who were now Christian and yet continued celebrating Jewish
feasts.

One may think Jews follow the OT so are following God’s instructions; that
is our assumption. Like the Catholic Church bought in Christ-Mass, Easter
and other festivals and made them Christian festivals similarly Jews
imported pagan beliefs or refashioned godly instructions into something
ungodly i.e. God told them to wash their hands and feet before entering the
Tabernacle, this was symbolic to getting oneself forgiven before coming
before the Lord to pray or worship Him (Jesus washing their feet before
sharing the last supper was symbolizing this); but they made washing a
religious tradition even for eating, and made precious vessels of silver
and gold embedded with gems for this ritual. Looking at what they did Jesus
and His disciples even stopped using those vessels to wash their hands
before eating. Leave alone washing of hands and feet they even went to the
extent of importing the pagan belief of holy dip in a river for spiritual
cleansing and healing of the body (Mikvah Tevilah). If we understand this
we will understand the incident of the sick man waiting for many years to
take a dip at an auspicious time in the lake to be healed.

Let us understand ritual may seem harmless and at times a means to reach
out to the people of other beliefs. When Paul said I was Jew for the Jews,
Roman to the Romans had nothing to do with taking part in their rituals but
was about sharing his testimony as a Jew and as a Roman.

We are not called to build bridges between worldly customs so as to bring
the people to the Lord. God did not tell the Israelites to put boulders in
the Red Sea to make a bridge for them to cross, He parted it.

Let us not kill our faith by ritual but do all things with understanding.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Awesome God. You Lord require us to worship You in Spirit and
Truth. You God do not desire blind believers and hate blind faith. You
desire we be filled with wisdom and understanding so do all things with
understand. Lord we pray You fill us with wisdom, knowledge and
understanding so that we discern all things and not do them blindly...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Exodus 30:20 When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they
shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the
altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:

Exodus 30:21 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die
not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his
seed throughout their generations.

Matthew 15:2-3
2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they
wash not their hands when they eat bread.
3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the
commandment of God by your tradition?

John 5:2-9

Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth
not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Wandering stars reserved for darkness

Jude 1:13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering
stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

Yesterday I gave the birth and death of stars as an example of how we can
lose our salvation even after believing and not being renewed in spirit.
Interesting today the Lord gave us this verse on stars ‘reserved for the
blackness of darkness for ever’. The words ‘blackness of darkness’ is used
from classical Greek and mean ‘the darkest parts of underground world’.
People assume only the fallen angels will be punished in a place Bible
calls as ‘made for them’.

The Angels are symbolically represented as star/hosts of the Heavens. When
Satan deceived some the Angels before our creation it is written the dragon
by his tail bought down one third of the stars. Bible says all those who
believe in Jesus Christ are descendants of Abraham by faith. The Lord asked
Abraham to count the stars to confirm the number of persons that will be
his descendants. Jesus said after resurrection we would be like the Angels.
In Zechariah 13:9 we read the Lord will bring one third through fire and
refine them as precious mental and it is these one third who will inherit
His Kingdom.

Note Abraham was called to be father of NATIONS and NOT A NATION so from
the beginning it never was about only the Israelites being the ‘promised
people’.

If we understand the above we will realize how narrow the gates of Heaven
are. We cannot take the Kingdom of God for granted nor His grace for
granted. The grace is given for a purpose and we foolishly thing grace is a
blanket permission to do anything and yet be justified.

A brother posted in a group the greatest deception is Hell is not revealed
to man. In fact in many religion Hell is mentioned but in a distorted
manner. Greater than Hell deception is Lake of Fire / Sulphur which is
totally hidden. People confuse Lake of Fire with Hell and think it is the
same. Today’s message calls it the darkness of the dark world. Hell would
be a resort compared to what Lake of Fire is. Hell is meant for those who
do not believe and Lake of Fire for those who believe and yet reject.

In the parable of the father sending an invitation for his son’s marriage
Jesus said those who did not attend and rejected the son were killed but
those who came but was not appropriately dressed were gravely punished.

When I use the spiritual cane I tell people it is better to reject Christ
and suffer one’s sins than to believe in Him and not follow Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Holy God. The Heavens are a holy place and You Father desire
we dwell in Heaven and enjoy eternal life with You. You invited us and now
that we have accepted that invite help us to eb spiritually dressed
appropriately for this Heavenly wedding where we are the Bride. Lord we
pray we do not suffer the Lake of Fire in our lust for the things of this
world, lust of sight and of the mind...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their
own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto
the judgment of the great day.

Revelation 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven,
and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which
was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Genesis 15:5-6
5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and
tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So
shall thy seed be.
6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in
marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Zechariah 13:9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will
refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they
shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people:
and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent,
called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast
out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make
war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and
have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto
me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that
have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the
spirit of prophecy.

Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the
living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

Words of exhortation

Acts 13:15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of
the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any
word of exhortation for the people, say on.

During Sunday services most churches have a few minutes for testimonies and
words of exhortation. We see during this period all that people speak about
is good things that has happened to them but we will not see anyone
speaking words of correction.

In today’s message we see when Paul attended a synagogue in Antioch which
had both Jews and Gentiles attending and when the session was open for
words of exhortation Paul stood up and started with a good note but later
spoke words of correction and we see the Jews to whom the words were spoken
to did not receive it but the Gentile were blessed with it. They did not
only like it but asked if more could be disclosed to them the next Sabbath
and it so happens they got almost the whole town to attend. Looking at the
great response of the Gentile the Jews were filled with fury. What we read
at the end v46 is of importance something which even Jesus said to the
Jews. Because of the promise given to their ancestors the Jews were given
the first preference to receive eternal salvation and because of their
hardened heart they rejected the Word and eternal salvation thus the
invitation went to the Gentiles.

Yesterday I mentioned the ultimate plan of our salvation is that we become
part of the Heavenly Temple – Spiritual Jerusalem – City of Peace. One
thing we should underline and tell ourselves every day. Invitation to
Heaven is limited and if God has revealed Himself to us we are amongst the
few fortunate ones who are invited. This invitation is not a guaranty we
will be there, we need to hold on to that invite and be spiritually dressed
to enter the Gates of Heaven. If we reject the invitation or do not abide
with it then someone else would take our place. Let us not be like the
Jews; they knew they were the fortunate ones who had the invitation but due
to the hardness of their heart they lost the invitation and that invitation
went out to the Gentiles.

God told Abraham to count the stars to get an account of his generation
with whom God made a covenant. If we study astronomy, about stars and the
universal forces we find stars die and new ones are added, yet universal
forces like gravity is well balanced and if over tipped even a little the
whole universe can consume itself into a galactic black hole.

Let us not just speak words of exhortation but also speak words of
correction which helps build the Church and spiritually gets the people
dressed to enter the Gates of Heaven. Let us every day remember we are
amongst the few blessed ones to hold an invitation to Heaven and let us
continue to hold on to it. A part of the requirement to hold on to it we
are called to distribute invitations unto others so that we all enter as
soon as possible.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Merciful God. You Lord in your mercies gave us
the invitation to Heaven. You Lord have given us the opportunity to eternal
life. We pray Lord we hold to this invitation till the day we sleep in You
so that we do be counted amongst those who are part of the Heavenly City of
Peace.

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 13:14-46
14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and
went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the
synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word
of exhortation for the people, say on.
16 Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel,
and ye that fear God, give audience.
17 The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the
people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high
arm brought he them out of it.
18 And about the time of forty years suffered he their manners in the
wilderness.
37 But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man
is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:
39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which
ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought
that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious
proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded
them to continue in the grace of God.
44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear
the word of God.
45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and
spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and
blaspheming.
46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the
word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from
you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the
Gentiles.

Genesis 15:4-6
4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not
be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall
be thine heir.
5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and
tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So
shall thy seed be.
6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Fear and Glory

Acts 5:11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as
heard these things.

Everyone likes to experience God with good things and things that bless a
person in worldly ways but as we read in today’s message in calamities we
see more awe of God is experienced by people. When there are situations of
grief or even situation of helplessness due to natural calamities beyond
man’s control, we see man bows his knees to God.

Many years back as the Lord was teaching me on prayer I experienced how a
great natural calamity could cause people to bow their knees to God but
then I was shown I did not gain anything by praying for it, for people
turned back to their old ways very soon.

If the stick could have changed man then it would have been very easy God
would have punished man tremendously and got the work done. We see this did
not work with the Israelites who experienced the wrath of God many a times.
God knows that man being a suborn being calamities and punishments cause
temporary change in him, the only way is to overcome the evil in him with
good.

We read fear of God is the start to wisdom. The greatest fear is not
experiencing the power or might of God but of being separated from God.
Jesus cried in the Garden of Gethsemane not because He was to experience
physical pain and physical suffering, this He was aware of long before
since it was already written in the book of Psalms and in Isaiah. He cried
for He came near to a time where He was going to be separated from the
Father (be far from Him) since He was going to be forsaken.

Calamities and difficult situations do make us think of God but true change
comes when we the love of God and experience His forgiveness, this is what
Jesus manifested to us.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. The Bible calls You ‘Love’ even though in Heaven
the heavenly being call You ‘Holy’. Man can only experience You through
your love and forgiveness. Lord we pray we portray You as what Jesus did.
Let us show love and forgiveness so that we become instruments of change...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 5:9-13

Ro 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.

Ro 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to
separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ignorance and faithlessness

Acts 12:15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly
affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

We see the people were gathered at Mark’s mother’s place to pray for the
release of Peter. But when Peter did get released and knocked at the door
we see the people could not believe it was Peter. These very people who
were praying did not believe they prayer would be answered.

When we gather to pray our prayers need not be long filled with many
scriptures but needs to be full of faith. It is good to pray based on a
scripture but it is more important to hold on to the promise of that
scripture and declare it into the situation. God does not need to be
reminded of His Word, He is no man to forget, we quote scriptures to remind
ourselves so that we believe in them and receive.

Another reason of faithlessness is ignorance of the truth. The people who
were praying for the release of Peter thought Peter had died and his spirit
was knocking at the door. People who die sleep in the Lord and do not
communicate with man for God has forbidden it. Jesus did after His
resurrection because He was perfect in every way, we (the sheep) on the
other hand will become perfect on Judgment Day and thus will enter Heaven
as His bride.

When we are confused in our understanding our faith becomes weak. It is
proper understanding of a scripture along with doubtless faith that causes
us to move mountains. When Jesus mentioned mustard seed He did so not
because it is the smallest seed (orchid seed are the smallest seeds) but
did because it has a unique feature of having no air pocket inside it. Air
symbolizes doubt and Satan is called the prince of the air (doubt), so when
we doubt we let Satan work in us.

Let us experience the power of God by having a clear understanding of
scriptures and praying without doubt. It is not about how many scriptures
we know but how strongly we know even one scripture. Let us allowed God and
not Satan to work in us, so let is fill ourselves with a strong faith that
turns into authority.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You God understand only one language of faith.
Lord we pray we become like Jesus a man of authority as man of perfect
faith. Lord we pray we learn to believe and receive even before it comes to
manifestation. Your Word says believe and receive. Lord we pray our prayers
we according to your will so that every pray comes to pass...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Mr 11:22-24
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain,
Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his
heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to
pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this
world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now
worketh in the children of disobedience:

Mt 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye
have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the
fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and
be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

Mt 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I
say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say
unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and
nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Power to Resurrect

Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection,
and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable [made of the
same form] unto his death;

Sometimes one gets angry why translations try to kill the message and the
depth of the scripture by using words which are improper and misleading.
But when we read scriptures we understand that it is as per the plan of God
that man [in general] knows and comes to the knowledge of the truth
gradually.

We may wonder why God is hiding things from man.
God is not hiding but also not revealing because the heart of man is not
right and God has to work in man so that the truth does not destroy him,
that he may know Him better and still be alive and that is what today’
message talks of.

Today’s message talks of the power and importance of Jesus’ resurrection.
There are things we need to keep in mind before we try to understand this
scripture.

Man is a spirit being dwelling in a natural body in this natural world so
when a person dies his or her spirit leaves the body and moves to the
realms below. If the person is in (believes in) the Lord than the spirit
sleeps in a lower realm called Grave (this is not our cemetery). Those who
do not believe go to the lowest realm called Hell which is a prison. In
Hell the spirit lives its life term (which is in thousands of years) till
it ceases to exist (this is second and actual death). Hell is not
controlled by Satan (the king of Tyrus - Ezekiel 28) for he himself is bond
there and will be released on the due hour. God does not punish those who
do not believe, they punish themselves for they suffer their sins until
their last.

If a spirit does not die then what is resurrection?

Resurrection does not mean coming back to life, the word simply means ‘to
rise’. The term resurrection in the Bible does not mean to stand from a
sitting position or from a sleeping position but refers to moving from the
lower realm to a higher realm. Jesus died and went to Hell for our sins
were on Him, but since no sin was found in Him He did not suffer in Hell
nor was able to be kept there; that is why He resurrected from Hell and
returned to the realm we exist in. The power that enabled Jesus to
resurrect (Resurrection Power) did not work after His death but while He
was alive for if He had not being without blemish as man (He was born
without blemish and kept Himself free of sin) He would have not resurrected..

We on the other hand are corrupt being, born out of corruption and corrupt
ourselves by our own sins. Being forgiven does not restoration of
corruption. Like a rusted iron, forgiveness is like removing the rust, but
the iron has lost a part of itself and that needs to be restored.
Corruption can be restored in us by only the growing of the Fruits of the
Spirit (being Born from Above).

No corrupt being (lacking any Fruit of the Spirit) can enter the Kingdom of
God (Heaven - Upper 3 levels of Heaven). By our baptism in Christ we are
saved from Hell and by our baptism in the Holy Spirit we grow the Fruits of
the Spirit.

None of us are perfect even when we die since we as human beings may have
the 9 Fruits mentioned in Galatians but the 3 mentioned in Ephesians -
Truth, Righteous and Holiness are Fruits we receive as gifts from the Holy
Spirit, Son and Father respectively. Holy Spirit gifts us the Fruit of
Truth when we are baptized in Him, which we grow in trough our baptism. It
is on Judgment Day that we (sheep) receive the Fruit of Righteousness from
the Son. These two Fruits are the Fruits Adam and Eve lost, which caused
their exile from Paradise. It is only when we enter Heaven we along with
the Angel as one body will receive the Fruit of Holiness (that is why they
are partakers of our salvation) and thus will enable us (both) to dwell in
the presence of the Father.

Let us understand why the Lord Jesus Christ became human, to die as a human
and why His resurrection is so important for us. Let us not be fooled that
the resurrection power will work after we die, but let us let it work in us
while we are alive, so that it manifests it results after we die.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Holy, Righteous and Truth. You Lord alone are Perfect and
there is none like You. Even Jesus Christ who is a part of You that became
man as man said none is perfect other than You. Lord we may understand your
Resurrection Power and allow it to work in us while we are alive so that we
are counted among those who ascend to Heaven after Judgment Day...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Philippians 3:10-12
10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the
fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but
I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am
apprehended of Christ Jesus.

1Co 15:50-54
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the
kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Ephesians 5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and
righteousness and truth;)

Re 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river,
was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded
her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of
the nations.

Blinded by lack of knowledge

Acts 23:21 But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him
of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that
they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they
ready, looking for a promise from thee.

If we were not knowing Christ and were a Jew then we would have possibly
related to these forty men who formed something like a ‘holy league’ to
take down the ‘evil Paul’.

Those who oppose the Kingdom of God do not necessarily think they are
doing evil but think they are doing the right thing. It is their lack of
understanding that blinds them and causes them to do evil.

What the Lord is telling us today, we could be like those people who have a
passion for God but since our hearts are not right we do not know the
truth, the distorted truth which we know we take it as ultimate truth and
then attack people as righteous people.

When I debate with ‘Christians’ who claim to know theology I find they
quote people more than scriptures. One bro stated “we follow many
‘disciples’ of Jesus but fail to follow Jesus”, this is one of the reasons
we land up with distorted truths or small stones instead of the Rock.

It is time we learn to be ‘Sola Scriptura’ a foundational cause which
started the Reformation Movement. We came out of the Catholic Church due to
some false doctrines but we still carry many from them. In the process of
time in many places we added our own by jumping to the opposite side of the
road like Catholics believe in penance so we came up with OSAS (Once Saved
Always Saved) based on Hyper Grace, we also added Prosperity Gospel amongst
other things.

Let us not twist scriptures according to our liking but follow it in spirit
and truth.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Merciful God, but your mercy can not be taken for granted.
Your grace is only available for those who possess faith. Lord we pray we
understand if we lack faith, harden our hearts we can lose being in your
grace. Lord we pray we do not take your grace for granted. We pray we
humble ourselves and surrender to your Word and your Spirit...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Timothy 1:3-10
3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into
Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister
questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a
good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say,
nor whereof they affirm.
8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the
lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and
profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for
menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other
thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

Hebrews 10:26-27
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the
truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation,
which shall devour the adversaries.

Troubles will come

Romans 9:33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and
rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Prosperity Gospel preachers will preach of the goodness of God, the
abundance of His Kingdom but sadly their eyes are focused on the worldly
kingdom and not God’s Heavenly Kingdom.

If we look at the lives of the disciples of Jesus, we do not see any one of
them living a life of worldly prosperity. They were people who gave up
everything and focused on doing the Lord’s work. Prosperity Gospel
Preachers will tell you they were different and not ordinary people, they
were called to do that.

If we look at one of the most forefront person amongst them that is Paul,
he was actually an ordinary citizen who worked [did business of making and
selling tents] to meet his own needs and at the same time he dedicated his
life for the Lord’s Kingdom. The Lord met all his personal needs and also
gave him more, but this more he did not keep for himself but paid for the
travel and boarding needs of his colleagues.

Today’ message’s latter part says ‘whosoever believeth on him shall not be
ashamed’, it does not take away the existence of problems.

No house can be renovated without being torn down unless the house is
already close to the final plan. Our inner-man is on what the Holy Spirit
and the Word of God works on. The problems we go through depends on the
condition of our hearts. The problems we go through are not punishments but
the molding that God put us through.

Sometimes we may go through situation not for ourselves but as a testimony
for those whom the Lord gives unto us. That does not mean more trouble the
better we are, for the scripture says even through all of the problems, God
will never put you to shame.

In simple words if you are a Christian and having a very peaceful life and
not facing any challenge then there is something seriously wrong. It is
time to find help and know what you are doing wrong.

When Jesus preached He said ‘when tribulation and persecution comes’. So
people who preach Prosperity Gospel preach a Gospel contrary to that of the
Bible and put people in a delusion of entering the Kingdom of God (Heaven).

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Mighty and Awesome God. You Lord do not desire praise or
sacrifice but desire a pure heart. You Lord work in man to set him right so
that he is made worthy to enter your Kingdom. Lord we pray we understand
the purpose and set our eyes on your Kingdom when You are working in us. We
pray your grace keeps us...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Mt 13:21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when
tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is
offended.

Romans 8:35-37
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are
accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that
loved us.

Galatians 5:10-13
10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none
otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment,
whosoever he be.
11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer
persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty
for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

We do or do not, the job is going to get done

Romans 14:11, 12 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee
shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one
of us shall give account of himself to God.

When people work for the Lord’s Kingdom they normally feel they are doing
God a favor and God is in depth to them for what they are doing, so when
they pray they remind God about the work they have done for Him. They look
up at Men or Women of God and think God is blessed to have them.

At times when I preach to a congregation I use a different approach. I tell
them if do not wake up and step out to preach the Gospel nothing is going
to change, God did not write the prophecies in the Bible based of them
making their minds. If God has written every knee will bow and every tongue
will confess then it will happen either through them or through someone
else. Like it is written if people do not reach out to God then God can
even get rocks to do it, He does not force anyone.

Does God need us? NO.
When we do the Lord’s work we are doing a favor on ourselves. When we work
for a large multinational and get paid well, then do we consider ourselves
doing a favor on the company or the company doing us a favor by employing
us? God’s Kingdom is far greater than any multinational, so why do we think
we are doing God a favor?

Understand when we do work for the Lord’s Kingdom we are working on
ourselves or letting God work on us more. As we work, we grow and become
eligible to gain more in His Kingdom the day we enter after Judgment Day,
what we get here is just crumbs so let us not be focused on the crumbs.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. There is nothing that is impossible for You yet
You Lord use insignificant man to do your work. You Lord give us an
opportunity to be blessed richly in your Kingdom. Lord we pray we
understand You do not need us but we need You. We pray we understand all
that we lose when we do not reach out to the lost soul and disciple them in
your Kingdom.

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Luke 19:40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these
should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

Acts 7:45-56
45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the
possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our
fathers, unto the days of David;
46 Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the
God of Jacob.
47 But Solomon built him an house.
48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith
the prophet,
49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye
build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
50 Hath not my hand made all these things?
51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist
the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have
slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye
have been now the betrayers and murderers:
53 Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not
kept it.
54 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they
gnashed on him with their teeth.
55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven,
and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing
on the right hand of God.

2 Peter 3:9-10
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count
slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should
perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which
the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt
with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be
burned up.

Saving souls

James 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the
error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude
of sins.

In India a large section of people are pursuing to impose anti-conversion
law and this is already in force in some states. The anti-convers law
forbids forced or induced conversions but is misused even in genuine cases.

A sister, who was a Hindu and now is in Christ, is so passionate about
Christ that she boldly preaches about Him anywhere and everywhere. When
people ask her if you are doing Dharam Parivartan (religious conversion)?
She answers them she is doing Jeevan Parivartan (life conversion).

The purpose to bring people to know Christ is not to make them ‘Christians’
or to increase the numbers in the church. We see churches restrict work to
their locality so that they can add people to their church. Pastors fight
with each other if they find out people they have worked on or even
approached have joined another church. In the cities the scene is not so
bad for main churches have an unofficial peace treaty between them and
notify each other if someone from another church visits their church. But
in the rural areas we have seen physical battles being fought if a rich
member joins another church. For many Pastors the main purpose to increase
the congregation is to increase the tithing and has little to do with
saving souls. A Pastor who works or runs a business to support his family
and as well mentors a church does a better job, especially when the Church
is small.

Everyone loves a mega Church and the facilities that are available in such
Churches. We do not realize we actually fail the purpose of a Church when
we aim for large Churches; it is like having a large classroom with one
teacher. We see more dynamic, spirit filled Christians in smaller churches
than in larger churches, lukewarm congregations love mega Churches since
they get lots of space to hide from being mentored. But ironically when the
Pastor is good automatically the congregation increases and the down
sliding starts. Like in a school, Pastors should appoint more Pastors
proportional to their congregation increase; this rarely happens for each
Pastor becomes an overhead and also because Christians do not trust each
other.

As today’s message says let us not lose the focus of the purpose to bring
people to Christ. The Greek word translated here as ‘conversion’ actually
means ‘transformation’. Bringing a person to Christ is all about
transforming the life of that person so giving the Gospel is just the start
of the journey of the person we bring to Christ. Jesus did not instruct us
to make believers but instructed us to make disciples. We successfully save
a soul when we transform the life of the person. We may not directly do it
but we become instruments for the Word and Spirit of God to do it through
us. We become the holy vessels through which the Lord serves His people,
His Kingdom.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and all powerful God. There is nothing that is
impossible for You, yet You Lord in your wisdom chose man as an instrument
to bring salvation unto your people. You yourself became man to do this and
as man You instructed us to continue this work. Lord we pray we do not play
religion and invoke your wrath on the Day of Judgment. We pray we do not
collect goats and lose everything but concentrate on collecting sheep...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye
continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit:
