President Donald Trump touted his criminal justice reform law as a correction to discriminatory policies put in place by former President Bill Clinton.

Speaking at the 2019 Prison Reform Summit in the White House’s East Room on Monday, Trump said that the First Step Act would reverse the “devastating” harm done to black Americans by Clinton’s 1994 tough-on-crime bill. The law has long been criticized for contributing to the mass incarceration of minorities.

President Trump celebrated the law’s passage alongside ex-convicts who won early release under the First Step Act. Looking forward, Trump announced plans for a Second Step Act to help ex-inmates find work.

Trump undoes Clinton crime laws
Trump signed the First Step Act after it passed both houses of Congress in December. The bill’s passage marked a rare moment of bipartisan success in an administration riven by bitter factional conflict. Trump hailed the bill as a proud moment of cooperation between people who are “so conservative” and “so liberal.” Its passage was opposed by some Republicans, including Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) and then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

The law erases sentencing provisions put into place by Clinton’s 1994 law which critics say targeted blacks, such as harsher sentences for crack cocaine than powder. Trump hailed the First Step Act as a long-overdue correction of injustices in the penal system.

“Finally, the law rolls back provisions of the 1994 Clinton law that was so devastating to so many, and that disproportionately impacted the African American community,” Trump said. “Nobody believes how much, and now they understand it. In less than four months more than 500 people with unfair sentences have been released from prison and are free to begin a new life.”


The law reforms mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenses, retroactively applying the Fair Sentencing Act, which eliminates disparities in sentences for crack and powder cocaine offenses. Among other reforms, it also includes provisions to reduce recidivism by helping prisoners adjust to life after prison, including mentorship, employment, and substance abuse treatment programs. Trump said that thousands of inmates have already been enrolled in drug treatment programs.

“I’m thrilled to report that since I’ve signed the First Step Act, more than 16,00 inmates have already enrolled in drug treatment programs. And my administration intends to fully fund and implement this historic law,” Trump said. “It’s happening, and it’s happening fast, and it’s a lot for some people to understand.”

Trump was joined by ex-convicts released under the law, as well as Alice Marie Johnson, an ex-convict whose sentence Trump commuted last spring after a successful lobbying effort by Kim Kardashian.

Trump moves to correct Clinton
Trump also announced further criminal justice reform to help ex-convicts adjust to life after lockup and find work. Trump said the bill would include $88 million to facilitate prisoners’ return to society.

One of the more stellar members of Trump’s cabinet is about to move on.

Linda McMahon, who currently heads the Small Business Administration (SBA) will be resigning her post mid-April to take over a pro-Trump Super Pac.

Stellar Performance
Unlike many of Trump’s first round of appointments, McMahon has largely stayed behind the scenes and out of headlines. For a politician, that is a good thing, because it means he or she is doing their job.

Trump echoed those sentiments about McMahon, calling her a “superstar” during her time in his administration.

While leaving Trump’s cabinet, McMahon will not be leaving the movement. She will now head the America First Action PAC.

This PAC is expected to play a major role in fundraising for Trump’s bid at re-election.

McMahon’s experience, as well as her ties to some deep pocket donors, make her a perfect fit for the job.

WWE Ties
If the name sounds familiar, it should. Linda McMahon is the husband of Vince McMahon of WWE fame.

Linda had worked with her husband through 2009 when she left the company to run for a State Senate position in Connecticut.

During Trump’s presidential campaign, McMahon was a major booster of Trump’s.

That loyalty continued when she became a part of his administration, as she is often characterized as a loyal foot soldier for the president.

Having said that, she was not afraid to express an opposing position when she felt Trump took things too far, most notably when Trump and Cruz made their attacks personal during the 2016 election.

It has not been made clear who Trump is eyeing to fill this position, but it is probably a safe bet he will look for another highly qualified person to take on this role.

President Trump is vowing to release the FISA documents used by the FBI to spy on his campaign.
In a wide-ranging interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, President Trump said he plans to declassify and release the documents and that his attorneys had previously advised him against releasing the documents because it could have been considered obstruction of justice.

“I do, I have plans to declassify and release. I have plans to absolutely release,” Trump said. “I have some very talented people working for me, lawyers, and they really didn’t want me to do it early on. … A lot of people wanted me to do it a long time ago. I’m glad I didn’t do it. We got a great result without having to do it, but we will. One of the reasons that my lawyers didn’t want me to do it, is they said, if I do it, they’ll call it a form of obstruction.”

“Frankly, thought it would be better if we held it to the end. But at the right time, we will be absolutely releasing,” he added.

Trump also accused FBI officials of committing “treason” — slamming former FBI Director James Comey as a “terrible guy,” former CIA Director John Brennan as potentially mentally ill, and Democrat House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff as a criminal.

Redacted versions of FISA documents already released have revealed that the FBI extensively relied on documents produced by Christopher Steele, an anti-Trump British ex-spy working for a firm funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee, to surveil Trump aide Carter Page. At least one senior DOJ official had apparent concerns Steele was unreliable, according to text messages exclusively obtained last week by Fox News.

9th Circuit Court says San Francisco can’t be sued over Steinle murder

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has been a thorn in the side of the Donald Trump administration since day one.

Trump was hoping to balance the court’s liberal slant when he appointed Judge Mark Bennett to the bench, but even Bennett’s presence was not enough to prevent the court from ruling in favor of sanctuary cities again.

Steinle Case Dismissed
32-year-old Kate Steinle died on July 1, 2015, after being shot by an illegal immigrant who was protected by sanctuary city policies, despite having been previously deported five times.

José Inez García Zárate claimed the gun accidentally went off. He also claimed he only found the gun moments before Steinle was shot.

García Zárate was acquitted of all murder charges, but he was convicted on felony gun possession.

The case gained national attention during the 2016 presidential campaign when Trump cited the case.

When the family did not get justice in the criminal trial, they filed a lawsuit against the city of San Francisco and former Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi for releasing García Zárate from jail three months before Steinle’s murder without informing ICE.

The Decision
The court dismissed the case, admitting that Steinle’s death was “undeniably tragic” but ruling that the sheriff did not violate any laws by not notifying ICE.

“The tragic and unnecessary death of Steinle may well underscore the policy argument against Sheriff Mirkarimi’s decision to bar his employees from providing the release date of a many times convicted felon to ICE,” Bennett said. “But that policy argument can be acted upon only by California’s state and municipal political branches of government, or perhaps by Congress.”

Why the court continues to offer more protection for illegal immigrants than it does for U.S. citizens is baffling.

This exact point was taken up by Daniel Horowitz of the Conservative Review, who wrote, “What is indefensible, though, is how this same court grants illegal aliens the right to access federal courts when Congress has explicitly barred it.”
This decision will no doubt invigorate Senate Republicans to go nuclear to push through more Trump judicial appointments to hopefully get some common sense back on the bench.

Day for Celebration
Friday night was one of the biggest nights of Trump’s life. Robert Mueller’s final report had been sent to the attorney general, which meant no further indictments would be handed down.

With that, exactly zero indictments were brought against anyone associated with Trump for obstruction of justice or collusion with the Kremlin in the 2016 presidential election.

Then, on Sunday, things got even better: Attorney General Barr released a summary of the report that fully exonerated Trump from any wrongdoing regarding collusion.

This served to place a rather large egg on the face of Mueller, Democrats, and every liberal waiting for Trump to get indicted.

Won’t Let It Go
Even with those announcements, though, liberals and some elected representatives are not willing to let this go.

Indeed, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) continues to say he has overwhelming evidence to support collusion.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders apparently reached her breaking point with him, telling him to either drop off the evidence or “shut the heck up.”

If Democrats had any honor at all, they would apologize and move on.

That does not seem to be on their agenda, though, as many of them are not only still pushing the collusion narrative — they are also demanding an investigation into the investigation.

The good news is Trump is in the clear. The bad news is Democrat lawmakers will probably spend another $25 million of our money trying to undermine the Mueller report.
What a shame.

The critics who have been scrutinizing President Donald Trump for illegal activities during the 2016 presidential election should have been looking at former Florida governor and 2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush.

After a recent investigation by the FEC, a pro-Jeb Bush Super PAC, Right to Rise USA, was hit with a $390,000 fine for soliciting a foreign national contribution.  

Additionally, the Chinese-owned, California-based company American Pacific International Capital, Inc. (APIC), was hit with a $550,000 fine for violating the foreign national contribution ban.

Record-Breaking Fines
In a stunning announcement, the Federal Election Commission (FEC) announced that groups tied to the Jeb Bush campaign were in violation of several FEC laws.

The “smoking gun” of the FEC investigation was the admission from the president of APIC of having made the donations. As a foreign national, he is not permitted to contribute to an American election.

Furthermore, the PAC itself is not allowed to solicit a donation from a foreign national, which is why the PAC was fined.

As you may recall, Jeb Bush went into the 2016 presidential election with an enormous war chest… and now we know why. In all, the president of APIC stated he had donated $1.3 million to the campaign.

Ties to the Bush Family
These donations were not without cause or connection. Neil Bush, Jeb’s brother, is a member of the APIC Board. Gary Locke, who served as an ambassador to China during the Obama administration, is now a senior adviser to APIC.

We can only imagine the bullet that was dodged by Bush not winning the presidential election in 2016.

With this news rocking the political world, it would not be a surprise for the Supreme Court to revisit its 2010 ruling lifting the restrictions on corporate donations for U.S. elections.

We can also expect Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) to have a big, wide smile on her face right now as this is the exact type of “dark money” she has been referring to during congressional hearings.

Unfortunately, though, she has been directing her focus at Trump when she clearly should have been looking into Bush.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has made a decision on impeachment, and it won’t make the radical left happy. After months of delicately dancing around the topic, Pelosi told the Washington Post on Monday that she does not want to impeach the president. She said that it’s “not worth it” unless there’s “compelling” evidence.

Making it clear that her decision was news, Pelosi told the Post that “divisive” impeachment proceedings would come with a high price that she could only justify if “there’s something ….compelling.”

Pelosi: I won’t impeach
“I’m not for impeachment. This is news. I’m going to give you some news right now because I haven’t said this to any press person before,” Pelosi told The Washington Post. “But since you asked, and I’ve been thinking about this: Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country.”

“And he’s just not worth it,” she continued.


While she admits that impeachment is unrealistic, Pelosi hasn’t changed her personal opinions about the president. She told the Post that she feels Trump is unfit for office.

“No. No. I don’t think he is [fit]. I mean ethically unfit. Intellectually unfit. Curiosity-wise unfit,” she said. “No, I don’t think he’s fit to be president of the United States.”

Pelosi risks angering far left
Pelosi’s announcement will surely disappoint the far-left and freshman Democrats who came to the Capitol in January vowing to “impeach the “mother***er,” but caution about impeachment has been her tack since she took up the speaker’s gavel. It’s just one of the differences between the Speaker and the progressive caucus that she has been struggling to manage lately.

Pelosi’s decision to condemn “all hate” in place of anti-Semitism last week, in response to comments from freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), left some saying that she had lost control of the party. Pelosi’s impeachment announcement shows the speaker asserting some control again, even as fissures continue to grow.

While some Democrats including Rep. Al Green (D-TX) and Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) have filed articles of impeachment previously, the movement has failed to gain traction in Congress outside a vocal fringe. Impeachment drumbeats continue steadily in the media and in the progressive caucus, with Green and freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), promising to force articles of impeachment. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) also questioned Pelosi’s decision, while activist billionaire Tom Steyer, founder of Need to Impeach, expressed disappointment.

“Speaker Pelosi thinks `he’s just not worth it?’ Well, is defending our legal system `worth it?’ Is holding the president accountable for his crimes and cover-ups `worth it?’ Is doing what’s right `worth it?’ Or shall America just stop fighting for our principles and do what’s politically convenient,” Steyer said.


Hedging her bets
The dilemma for Democrats is whether to proceed with impeachment without bi-partisan support and risk alienating moderates, or anger the progressive caucus by holding back. While “impeach” is a popular left-wing slogan, the idea has been met with apprehension when considered more realistically by House Democrats. With a majority of voters opposing impeachment, party leadership has had to carefully weigh the path forward.

Speculation has brewed for months on whether Democrats would go too far as Robert Mueller’s investigation reportedly plods towards a conclusion with evidence of collusion proving elusive. Pelosi’s announcement comes as Democrats have begun to dial back expectations that Mueller’s investigation of collusion will bring them the impeachment bombshell they’ve been patiently expecting for two years.

Picking up the baton from Mueller, House Democrats, led by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), have launched a spate of investigations into Trump’s finances, Russia ties, and family that are widely seen as a prelude to impeachment.

Despite taking an aggressive path towards Trump, NNadler and House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) indicated they will follow Pelosi’s lead in setting a high bar, with Nadler claiming that impeachment is “far off” and Schiff saying Pelosi made the “absolutely right” decision. However, given Schiff’s promise to continue investigating Trump regardless of Mueller’s findings, and claims that there is “direct evidence” of collusion, some might question if these promises are in good faith.

Pelosi’s decision might disappoint the far-left, but it might be what’s best for her party.

After hearing criticism from former supporter Ann Coulter for months, President Donald Trump is finally firing back.

In a two-part tweet on Saturday, Trump called Coulter a “Wacky Nut Job” before asserting that, despite Coulter’s insistence otherwise, he is “winning” at the southern border. 

From Friends to Enemies
Coulter was one of the first major conservative personalities to come out in support of Trump.

When she told Politically Incorrect host Bill Maher that Trump was the GOP favorite going into the 2016 election, Maher’s entire panel just about fell out of their chairs in a fit of laughter.

Coulter’s support continued throughout Trump’s campaign and most of his time in office.

But after the building of the wall at the U.S.-Mexico border was delayed repeatedly, Coulter started moving in the other direction.

Apparently, that was the one major campaign promise she wanted to see fulfilled, and the fact he was unable to get it done has not sat well with her at all.

Coulter was already criticizing Trump at every opportunity when the president gave his State of the Union address earlier this year. Coulter called the speech “the lamest, sappiest, most intentionally tear-jerking SOTU ever.”

Trump Fires Back
Indeed, over the last month, Coulter has pretty much fired ever insult imaginable at Trump. Through it all, however, he has remained silent — until now.

Finally, on Saturday, Trump apparently reached his breaking point. He tweeted:

Ongoing Feud
This feud is unlikely to end anytime soon. Now that Coulter knows she has his attention, she will probably go full boar and get him to engage with her as much as possible.

As far as she is concerned, his engagement proves her right. Plus, it’s free publicity.

But it will be interesting to see who Coulter and her supporters go to during the 2020 presidential campaign season.

Coulter is a devout conservative, so there is no chance at all she will throw her support behind a Democrat. But with the Republican Party not putting out another candidate to oppose Trump, it will be really interesting to see how this feud pans out.

Will Coulter’s fans stand by her side? Or will they stick with the president? Only time will tell.

Report: Trump motorcade narrowly avoids nasty crash in Alabama

President Donald Trump’s Friday visit to Alabama could have been much different if not for a guardrail and some good timing.

An out-of-control SUV heading the opposite direction crashed into a guardrail just yards away from the president’s motorcade on Friday morning, according to reports.

One onlooker said in a video of the incident that the car nearly “took Trump out,” according to the Daily Mail.

Scary Moment
This incident could have had a far worse outcome — but it didn’t, thanks in large part to a guardrail.

However, it is not unheard of for a car in such a situation to lose control and actually go airborne over the divider into oncoming traffic.

Thankfully, in this situation, things went just about as good as they could have gone, all things considered.

President Trump safely made it to his destination to meet with families who lost loved ones in the recent tornados.

In all, 23 people were killed during the tornados, with one family losing 10 members.

The Alabama Visit
As is usual with President Donald Trump, his visit to Alabama stirred up some controversy with liberals and non-supporters.

As part of his visit, Trump signed Bibles, hats, and other items at the request of some of the victims of the tragic storms.

But instead of accepting Trump’s moves as a kind gesture by the leader of the free world, Trump’s detractors said his willingness to sign a Bible made the holy book part of a political stunt. But that was not the view of Hershael York, the Dean of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary School of Theology.

“Though we don’t have a national faith, there is faith in our nation, and so it is not at all surprising that people would have politicians sign their Bibles,” York said. “Those Bibles are meaningful to them and apparently these politicians are too.”

Former Presidents Ronald Reagan and Franklin D. Roosevelt also signed Bibles during their presidency.

Sounds like this is all just another attempt to smear President Trump.

President Trump continues to confound the media with many of the decisions he makes on a daily basis, and he isn’t known for worrying about how he’s perceived by the talking heads and Beltway elite. This fact made itself even more evident recently at a stop in Alabama to survey this week’s devastating tornado damage.

A camera crew from a local NBC affiliate captured Trump warmly and unreservedly embracing victims of the tornado outbreak in Lee County that left nearly two dozen dead and many more injured. 

Not playing to the cameras
When viewing the video, it is obvious that President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump didn’t care that their every move was being recorded; they never even acknowledged the presence of cameras. Instead, as the couple stood with a small group of victims in front of a mountain of debris — presumably once a home — they simply spent time with fellow Americans in crisis.

Melania can be seen speaking to another woman, while the president converses with an older gentleman. While dialogue is hard to make out, the man can be heard saying “thank you” with a smile as they both moved in for a hug at about the same time.  A lady standing nearby says “I’m next” and all three embrace as one for several moments. It is a truly powerful scene.


As reported by NBC News, via an account from the Associated Press, President Trump later spoke about his experience during the visit. “We saw things you wouldn’t believe,” Trump said. “What they went through is incredible. One woman lost 10 people in her family.”

Another first-hand account shows President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump holding hands as they viewed a memorial for the victims in the form of a line of 23 crosses set up on the lawn of Providence Baptist Church in Opelika, a town near where most of the tornado damage was sustained. This moment was posted to Twitter by none other than MSNBC.

“She just reached out there and said, ‘Mr. President, would you sign this?'” said Melissa Pike, one of the clean-up volunteers, recounting the touching ask made by her 10-year-old daughter, Meredith. Trump signed the young girl’s Bible, followed by the first lady. The couple also signed a Bible for one of the girl’s friends.

Then, before leaving the church, which was being used as a relief center, Trump remarked on FEMA’s response to the disaster, saying the agency has done “an incredible job” and that he appreciated their “quick acting.”


“We love you all. We love the state of Alabama,” Trump said to chants of “USA!” in the background. To an extent, this moment recalled the feeling of another time American history — September 11, 2001 — where President George W. Bush rallied rescue workers and victims. It was about the love of country and coming together. That’s it.

President Trump also honored the victims through his Twitter account. “Unimaginable loss – Such great people!” he wrote, retweeting a story about the Alabama tornado. He even posted a touching video tribute to the victims, which is nearly a minute long and has been seen over a million and a half times.

First Lady Melania Trump used her Twitter account to post reflections about her experience as well. “On our way to visit the great people of Alabama!” she tweeted with photos and an American flag emoji. She also shared the same video tribute as her husband and wrote, “Keeping the people of Alabama in our thoughts & prayers. We are with you.”

Two deadly tornadoes ravaged through Alabama on Sunday, killing at least 23 including three children and wounding dozens.

President Donald Trump warned Alabamans to stay safe as he directed Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to give the “A Plus treatment” to those affected by the deadliest twister in America in over five years.

“To the great people of Alabama and surrounding areas: Please be careful and safe. Tornadoes and storms were truly violent and more could be coming. To the families and friends of the victims, and to the injured, God bless you all!” he tweeted.

Tornadoes kill 23 in Alabama
Houses ripped up at the foundations, scraps of metal wrapped around trees, and mobile homes flipped upside down were just some of the traces of nature’s wrath after a series of deadly storms ripped through eastern Alabama on Sunday. The tornado left a path of destruction through Lee County that its sheriff described looking like “a giant knife….just scraped the ground.”

“There are slabs where homes formerly stood,” Sheriff Jay Jones said at a press conference Monday. “Whole forested areas, trees are just snapped and lying on the ground… We have not had anything of this nature before.”

The tornado tore up an area half a mile wide and about a mile long concentrated around the rural community of Beauregard, along Alabama Highway 51, the sheriff said. Across a span of a few hours Sunday afternoon, the storm leveled homes, knocked out power to many residences, toppled a cell phone tower, and tossed debris as far as half a mile, with foliage and pieces of metal strewn about the streets.


The area has many trailers, some of which were literally flipped upside down by the winds and their contents sent flying. “The contents of one residence, we know for a fact, were located over 1,000 yards away,” Jones said.

Residents described a harrowing scene as the storm descended upon them. Resident Scott Fillmer said of the storm: “I looked out the window and it was nothing but black, but you could hear that freight train noise.”

Proud to be an American
If there is one thing that is not even up for debate, it is that President Trump absolutely loves this country.

The crowd at the conference was already in an uproar when he walked out late last week, but when Trump hugged the flag, the applause went to a whole new level.

The cheer for the president went on for some time, then he treated everyone to some vintage Trump by going off-script for most of his speech.

While his communications department probably held their breaths, the crowd seemed to eat up just about every word that came out of Trump’s mouth.

More Like a Rally
If we didn’t know better, we would have thought Trump was speaking at one of his rallies rather than a convention.

The sarcasm dripped from his lips as he spoke about the Green New Deal presented by Rep. Alexandria-Ocasio Ocasio-Cortez.

Trump also took some shots at former Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Of course, the Robert Mueller investigation was also on the agenda for the day. Trump even accused the special counsel and Democrats of conducting “bull***t” investigations into him.

While some early polls have Trump behind a generic Democrat candidate ahead of 2020, it was hard to tell from the reaction of this crowd, as well as the social media reaction during his appearance.

For those not in his corner yet, Trump has another year to win them over before the election really hits its stride.

President Donald Trump’s appearance at CPAC is quickly becoming a thing of legend.

The crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference erupted in chants of “Lock her up!” after the president joked about a line he first said in 2016 about Hillary Clinton and the Kremlin.

“I’ve learned, because with the fake news, if you tell a joke, if you’re sarcastic, if you’re having fun with the audience,” Trump said. “If you say something like ‘Russia, please if you can, get us Hillary Clinton’s emails, please, Russia, please, please get us the emails.”

Can’t Joke Around
When Trump said that he cannot say a single word in jest without being slammed by the media, he was not kidding.

Today’s media breaks down every word and every aspect of his body language when he takes the microphone.

Well, he really gave them all something to pick apart when he was giving his speech at CPAC. It sounded more like a Trump rally than it did a conservative convention!

Trump has clearly won over a significant part of conservative America. Will that be enough to win him re-election, though?

Some general polls now have him almost 10 points behind a generic Democrat candidate, but he has fought off bigger odds than that before.

Cohen Lies
Much of the scrutiny Trump currently faces is because of Michael Cohen’s recent public testimony before Congress.

Cohen has taken out this big bag of lies and absolutely shredded Trump.

Those with common sense believe Cohen is continuing to make things up to evoke empathy for his own case, but liberals and Democrats in office are eating it up.

One of Cohen’s tales involved a conversation between Trump and Roger Stone about the WikiLeaks email dump during the campaign.

But Both Stone and Wikileaks have debunked Cohen’s version. Even Robert Mueller has come out against Cohen!

Yet, through it all, people like New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez refuse to even question a single word coming out of Cohen’s mouth.

Get ready for the ride of your life Mr. President, because it is not going to get any easier once election season really kicks in.

While congressional Democrats are chomping at the bit to see President Donald Trump removed from office, none of them are willing to endorse impeachment proceedings before Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation is completed.

Nobody, that is, except ultra-radical Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who became the first members of Congress to sign on to a “Pledge to Impeach” Trump this week.

Impeachment or bust!
“It’s my pleasure to support this pledge to impeach Donald Trump,” Tlaib remarked in a statement. “I can’t wait for us to show people, especially families in my district, that they are being put first—and that we’re going to hold everyone accountable to the law, including the president of the United States.”

Omar and Tlaib, the first Muslim women elected to Congress, responded to pressure from the grassroots advocacy group “By the People” to sign the impeachment oath. ABC News producer Ben Siegel was among the first reporters to reveal the pair’s pledge on Tuesday morning.

Curiously, By the People don’t exactly say what Trump did that is worthy of impeachment. “We are not lawyers,” the organization explains on its FAQ page in answer to the question, “What is the constitutional case for impeachment?”

Rep. Tlaib, however, is a lawyer, and she ought to know enough about due process to understand that calling for impeachment without any evidence of wrongdoing is troublesome. Shortly after being sworn into office in January, Tlaib promised, “[W]e’re going to impeach the motherf***er.”

House Democrats passed a resolution Tuesday to block President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration to build the border wall — and they got some help from the opposition.

13 Republicans joined House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in voting to overturn Trump’s declaration. The resolution now heads to the Senate, where some moderate Republicans have already expressed squeamishness about supporting the president.

Democrats introduced the resolution Friday to block Trump’s national emergency, which he declared earlier this month to supplement the little more than $1 billion given him by Congress to build the wall with money from elsewhere in the federal budget. It picked up one Republican co-sponsor when it was introduced, Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI), who called the border crisis a “non-emergency.”

Pelosi had spent the last week reaching out to Republicans for their support in rejecting Trump’s national emergency, which she has described as an affront to the Constitution, and on Monday was pushing to build momentum for the “patriotic” resolution before a Tuesday vote.


As expected, the resolution passed swiftly Tuesday, 245-182, with the support of all the House Democrats and 13 Republicans — Amash, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), Rep. Jamie Herrera Butler (R-WA), Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX), Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-SD), Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), Rep. Francis Rooney (R-FL), Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), and Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR).

Several of these Republicans pointed to the power invested in Congress to appropriate money, echoing Pelosi’s argument that Trump’s national emergency skips over limits on presidential power laid out in the Constitution. Some said that they believed there is a problem at the border, but would not support a national emergency declaration to fix it.

“I support President Trump and I support the wall. In fact I voted to fund the wall for the full amount requested by @realDonaldTrump. I also called out President Obama when he tried to use his pen and phone to sidestep Congress on immigration, war, healthcare, and gun control,” tweeted Massie.

Hurd, who once called the border crisis a “myth” and has opposed the wall, wrote, “We have a problem at our border which is why I have supported over $220B for homeland security including technology, manpower and barriers. But possibly taking money from Joint Base SA, Laughlin AFB and Fort Bliss will not help. That’s why I voted against the national emergency.”

As Democrats feign concern for the Constitution, Republicans who oppose Trump are playing right into the hands of the opposition. Democrats never criticized Obama over DACA the way some Republicans have balked at Trump’s emergency, and DREAMers continue to receive the full-throated support of the Democratic party.

Once again, Democrats are voting in a block to advance their agenda while milquetoast “Republicans” hobble border security by siding with the party of open borders. With Republicans like these, who needs Democrats?

US President Donald Trump described his Hanoi summit with Kim Jong-un as productive, but ultimately not successful enough to sign a formal agreement, with both leaders abruptly leaving the key meeting.

Trump and Kim met in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Wednesday and both made a number of promising statements. President Trump called Kim a “great leader,” while the latter said they were able to “overcome all the obstacles” to have this second historic meeting.

However, on Thursday, Trump and Kim were seen leaving the Metropole hotel separately, almost two hours before they were expected to conclude their summit and hold a signing ceremony. Despite having numerous “options” on the table, Trump told journalists that no deal had been reached.

“At this time we decided not to do any of the options and we’ll see where that goes,” Trump said, adding that the two-day summit in Vietnam was “very interesting and productive,” but “sometimes you have to walk.”

It wasn’t a good thing to be signing anything.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo weighed in, saying “more progress” was made during the meetings. However, that was not enough to ink a deal with Pyongyang.

“We didn’t get to something that ultimately made sense for the United States of America. I think Chairman Kim was hopeful that we would [reach an agreement]. We asked him to do more. He was unprepared to do that, but I’m still optimistic,” Pompeo said.

Trump mused that even though the US and North Korea have two “totally different” political systems, the two nations will ultimately end up being “very good friends.” For the time being, however, US sanctions on North Korea will remain, the US president stated.

Trump noted that progress has been made even though the two sides will leave Vietnam without an agreement, and that Kim’s “vision” for what a denuclearized North Korea would look like is more in line with Washington’s position than it was a year ago.

The White House has said that no deal was reached during the summit between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un in Hanoi. Their meeting was cut short, with both leaders leaving early without holding a signing ceremony.
Trump and Kim were seen leaving the Metropole hotel separately, almost two hours before they were expected to conclude their meeting and hold a signing ceremony.

Speculation over what transpired was quickly put to rest after the White House stated that no deal had been reached.

“No agreement was reached at this time,” press secretary Sarah Sanders confirmed. However, a seemingly mixed message was also sent by Washington, claiming that the meeting between the two leaders was “good” and “constructive.”

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is now threatening to sue the Trump administration if the results of Robert Mueller’s upcoming report are not released.

Creating Headlines
Democrats have been very good at manufacturing crises during Trump’s administration.

They like to speculate what Trump will or won’t do and treat it is fact to stir the pot.

In this case, Schiff is trying to get everyone stirred up over the Mueller report, speculating that it won’t be released to the public. But this issue has already been settled.

President Trump has already said that the decision to release the report lies with Attorney General William Barr — and him alone. And the newly confirmed AG has stated that he will look over the report and release what he can.

He may have to redact significant information for security purposes, but it seems pretty clear that he is going to do what he can to make as much public as is possible.

Meanwhile, we don’t even know at this stage when Mueller is going to issue the report to the attorney general. What more can you ask of this AG or the administration as a whole?

Stirring the Pot
This is, once again, nothing more than Schiff trying to get citizens riled up over nothing.

Trump has claimed his innocence from day one. If we take him at his word, he has nothing to fear in this report.

Mueller himself has also stated several times that Trump has not been a subject of interest based on the information gathered. If he was, something likely would have come out when Mueller indicted about a dozen Russians last year.

This is just further proof that Democrats in office today are refusing to work with Republicans and will do anything and everything in their power to create a controversy surrounding Donald Trump. They have to do this if there is any hope of stopping him from winning a second term.

Liberals have called conservatives extremists for years, but they better look at the likes of Schiff and his colleagues like Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez before they ever think of slapping that label on a conservative again.

Clearly, the Democrat Party has lost its way. Unfortunately, the American people are the ones paying the price for it.

The media has hammered President Donald Trump with questions about the denuclearization of North Korea ahead of his upcoming summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. But according to the president, there’s nothing to get worked up about.

“I’m not in a rush, I don’t want to rush anybody,” Trump told reporters. “I just don’t want testing” at this point, he added.

Big Meeting with Kim
Trump is scheduled to meet with Kim Jong Un in the coming weeks. This will be the second time the world leaders have met personally.

Trump came away very positively from their first meeting, saying he and Kim and had come to an agreement that would lead to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

But when North Korea did not turn over its nukes overnight, Trump was hammered by the media.

Knowing every word he says gets broken down to the most minute detail, Trump is now telling the media to cool its heels.

Obviously, the nuclear program is going to be on the table, but Trump is keeping his actual agenda very close to the vest this time.

When pressed as to what the agenda for the meeting will be, Trump said: “What’s going to happen, I can’t tell you.”

He did, however, state: “As long as there’s no [nuclear] testing, we’re happy.”

Building Blocks
Trump has to take the approach that these meetings are serving as building blocks for future negotiations and agreements with Kim.

This is by far the most dialogue that Kim has engaged in with the United States, and for the sake of peace, it is mandatory that Trump continues to keep the lines of communication open.

During the last meeting, Trump and Kim apparently laid the groundwork to dismantle Kim’s nuclear program.

While there has not been any testing since the first meeting, there have been no overt signs that North Korea has begun the process of ending its nuclear program outright. Hopefully, that will change after this meeting.

President Trump has clearly learned a lesson during his first two years in the White House, especially when it comes to issues such as this.

He is no longer painting a black and white picture, but leaving all options on the table until something is in writing. Smart move, Mr. President.

Former President Barack Obama isn’t going to stand by passively and watch his successor win another term — he wants to make sure the Democratic presidential candidate has what it takes to defeat President Donald Trump in 2020. After all, it’s his own presidential legacy that’s at stake. 

The New York Times reported on Monday that Obama has quietly met with “more than a dozen declared or likely candidates on what he believes it will take to beat President Trump.”

So far, Obama has been reluctant to throw his weight behind a single Democratic candidate, choosing instead to play the field and consult with underdogs and frontrunners alike. “They asked me about Obama endorsing,” said David Axelrod, former chief strategist for the Obama administration, after donors who were “auditioning” the various Democratic candidates wondered if Obama had a preference. “I said, ‘I don’t imagine he will.’”

Privately, Obama has told people close to him that he prefers to let the Democratic primaries unfold naturally before throwing his impressive political weight behind a single candidate. Even former Vice President Joe Biden, an early favorite according to several polls, doesn’t expect to receive an endorsement before the primaries from his old running mate.

Casting a wide net
The fact is, Obama doesn’t seem to care who carries the progressive torch into 2020, as long as they can defeat Donald Trump and restore his crumbling political legacy. The former president has met privately with a variety of candidates, including political unknowns like South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg, undeclared contenders like former attorney general Eric Holder and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and big-name candidates like Sens. Kamala Harris (D-CA), Cory Booker (D-NJ), and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

Eric Schultz, a senior Obama adviser, said that a “diverse, experienced and principled” group of Democrats are actively seeking his boss’s approval and that Obama is “happy to speak privately with candidates seeking his guidance on the best way to lead the country.”


According to the Times, Obama told these presidential prospects that they must be willing to oppose President Donald Trump’s “bleak and divisive rhetoric about economic change” and craft policies that resonate with voters in Republican strongholds.

Obama may have been referring to Trump’s 2019 State of the Union address, when the Republican president warned of creeping socialism throughout the Democratic Party. “America was founded on liberty and independence, and not government coercion, domination and control,” Trump declared.

To hear Schultz tell it, Obama isn’t just interested in helping candidates who support his own agenda. Rather, “President Obama counsels candidates to always show up and make their case even in areas or in front of audiences they may not necessarily win; express views and positions that reflect their genuine beliefs; and share a positive vision for the country true to their own personal story,” he said.

Gaming the Democratic field
Yet, it’s hard to believe that Obama, a skilled community organizer, is taking a completely hands-off approach and is consulting with over a dozen presidential contenders merely to improve their electoral chances. Why else would the Chicago Democrat establish a command-and-control bunker less than two miles from the White House, where he can oversee an army of over 30,000 political agitators?

Everything that has been published or recorded about Obama following Trump’s 2016 victory — which he tells his political protégés he did not expect — suggests that he is gaming the Democratic field for personal reasons. “It is fine for everybody to feel stressed, sad, discouraged,” he told supporters in a conference call before exiting the White House. “But get over it.”

Obama demanded they “move forward to protect what we’ve accomplished. Now is the time for some organizing,” he said. “So don’t mope.”

Benefiting from his robust 2012 campaign database, the former president powered-up a network of nonprofits in the aftermath of Trump’s victory to not only preserve his legacy, but to sabotage Trump’s “America First” agenda. Obama’s Organizing for Action social justice outfit has since led anti-Trump marches and protested the Republican administration’s national security and immigration policies.

Despite these overt efforts, some of which have resulted in riots, the Times characterized Obama’s political consulting as “discreet” and noted his “longstanding ambivalence about acting as a partisan political leader.” But Obama has hardly been operating from behind-the-scenes since he left the White House, and his presence during the 2018 midterm campaigns has been described as “unusual” and “a departure from a historical norm in which former presidents tend to avoid openly criticizing their successors.”

From the crippling of Obamacare to the undermining of the Iran nuclear agreement and Paris Climate Agreement, the 44th president has seen his socialist vision for America deconstructed, one deregulatory reform at a time. If Obama doesn’t find a Democratic flag-bearer who can defeat Trump, he can kiss his socialist legacy goodbye.

President Trump publicly scolded CNN senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta Friday morning; blasting the reporter after he asked if the administration was “concocting” an emergency at the US-Mexico border.

“What do you say to your critics who say that you’re creating a national emergency, that you’re concocting a national emergency in order to get your wall?” asked Acosta from the White House lawn.

“I’ll ask the Angel Moms. Do you think I’m creating something? Ask these incredible women who lost their daughters and their sons. Your question is a very political question,” fired-back the President.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-CA) is firing back at President Donald Trump after he called for her resignation this week.

But Omar refuses to resign. Instead, she attacked the president, saying, “You have trafficked in hate your whole life – against Jews, Muslims, Indigenous, immigrants, black people and more.”

She added, “I learned from people impacted by my words. When will you?”

Trump Upset at Remarks
Omar learned the hard way that as a public figure, everything you say gets put under a microscope.

The freshman Congresswoman from Minnesota found herself the subject of a firestorm after making some very controversial tweets about Israel.

In her tweets, Omar insinuated that America’s support for Israel was about nothing more than money.

Her remarks immediately drew the ire of Republicans as well as her fellow Democrats.

After Democrat leaders condemned her tweets, Omar apologized…but threw in another jab at AIPAC.

President Trump would later add his two cents, stating he thought she should resign over her comments.

The Hypocrisy
In Omar’s case, she is claiming inexperience and ignorance and asking for forgiveness. Additionally, she is making claims about the President that are simply not true.

If she took the time to look into his past, she would find a man that has regularly given to charities as well as promoted women in the workplace. Prior to running for president, Trump was regularly lauded by minority leaders, including the likes of Rev.’s Sharpton and Jackson.

However, Omar’s disdain and hatred of Israel are quite apparent and Trump is right… she should resign ASAP.

President Trump signs executive order supporting research on artificial intelligence
President Donald Trump is hoping to take the United States to the forefront of the development of artificial intelligence (AI).

Earlier this week, the president signed an executive order for the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) to coordinate research and development of AI technology.

New Age of Technology
President Trump has fully recognized that AI is going to play a significant role in the future of this country, as well as the success of many major companies.

“Continued American leadership in AI is of paramount importance to maintaining the economic and national security of the United States and to shaping the global evolution of AI in a manner consistent with our Nation’s values, policies, and priorities,” the president’s order read.

There is a level of mistrust with the public when it comes to this type of technology, but the president made it a point to address that apprehension by making it quite clear in his order that the research needs to be transparent.

Trump also authorized the sharing of the technology with academic institutions and private firms that are already working in AI technology sector in his order.

Welcome News
Some may have expected current AI giants like Amazon and Microsoft to balk at the security measures Trump wants in place, but that was not the case.

The companies have actually been seeking more government regulations and standards to be put in place in this niche of technology for quite some time.

The new commitment to expanding the research in AI was also welcome, as many believe the United States is starting to fall behind countries like China in this sector.

Mark MacCarthy, senior vice president for the Software & Information Industry Association, was thrilled with Trump’s executive order, calling it “a good step toward a national strategy for AI.”

MacCarthy also had high praise for the fact the administration is emphasizing “open data” and more oversight on the development and use of AI.

This was a good move all around, Mr. President.

US military strikes al-Shabab in Somalia

Even though President Donald Trump has taken some hits recently over his military stance, the military continues to hurt terrorists where it counts.

According to recent reports, the U.S. military launched a successful strike against the al-Shabab terrorist group in Somalia.

On Wednesday and Thursday, several attacks were carried out and are believed to have killed more than a dozen militants.

Precision Strikes
The ability of the United States to conduct these strikes without hurting civilians is remarkable.

In this case, a total of 15 militants are believed to have been killed without a single innocent civilian being hit as collateral damage.

However, as successful as these strikes have been, our generals have been adamant that more support from the local Somali army is going to be needed.

In fact, even the former defense minister for Somalia, General Abdulkadir Ali Dini, has uttered those same sentiments.

Proving Trump Right
One of the reasons Trump would like to pull out troops out of this part of the world is because he believes local governments are depending on the United States too much.

Indeed, we have been fighting their war for them for almost two decades, with little to show for it. The people and governments of these countries need to take up their own fight and better support the efforts being made by the United States and other allied countries.

“At the end of the day, these strikes are not going to defeat al-Shabab,” said Gen. Thomas Waldhauser, the U.S. Military’s Africa Command Head. “But the bottom line is the Somali National Army needs to grow, it needs to step up, and it needs to take responsibility for their own security.”

This is a sentiment that has been expressed by President Trump time and time again.

So far this year, in less than two months, the United States has carried out roughly 25 percent of the total number of strikes in conducted in all of 2018, and we covered a full third of the number of attacks conducted the year prior.

Yes, the air strikes are effective, but they are meaningless if Somalia’s military does not join the fight.

Diplomacy has been attempted, but in all honesty, what incentive is being given to al-Shabab if there is no sign of resistance by local citizens?

Star-Studded Field
Pirro is just one of the major conservative personalities the local GOP group is planning to appear at its annual event. Social media stars Diamond and Silk are also rumored to be on the list.
Diamond and Silk, whose real names are Lynette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, respectively, dominated social media in their support of Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election season.
Conservative commentator Katie Pavlich is also on the list of stars expected to attend.
Sticking to the strong female personality theme, Tomi Lahren rounds out the early cast.
Lahren, who worked for The Blaze before heading to Fox, was another social media star that helped Trump lock down the presidency. Her “Final Thoughts” segments often made her the target of liberal attacks, but she gave back just as good as she got.
Lahren continues to make appearances on Fox as well as being one of the features personalities on Fox Nation, a new, paid subscription service by Fox News.
Looking Forward
The upcoming presidential race is finally starting to come into form.
With Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) announcing he would not run, it appears as though Trump will go unopposed on the Republican side.
This will give his team plenty of time to work ahead of the Democrat candidate — regardless of whom he or she ends up being. And in this election, that will be vital: Trump needs to expose the fantasy platform Democrats will push to voters in this election.
If New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal is any representation of the direction of the Democratic Party, it is imperative that Trump secures another four years to keep this country focused and on the right path.

Another Trump staffer is leaving, but not for the reason most may think.

Mandy Gunasekara, who has been serving as Trump’s primary EPA adviser, has resigned her position. Gunasekara is now going to devote herself full time to promoting President Trump’s agenda.

The Scare from the Left
All the talk of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s “Green New Deal” has made it quite clear we have entered a new age of politics. “Land of the free and home of the brave” is no longer a motto of this country.

Progressives like Ocasio-Cortez have made it quite clear they want the government to intrude into our lives as much as possible. She also wants to radically change the energy policy of our country.

Ms. Gunasekara has been with Trump from the beginning. She was a major contributor to this administration’s energy and environment position.

Point being, she knows the policies inside and out and is the perfect individual to counter the ridiculous claims being made by Ocasio-Cortez and her ilk.

Confidence in Trump
Gunasekara’s resignation letter no doubt brought a huge smile across the face of our president.

In her letter, she expressed confidence in both Trump and the policies of this administration. She also made it clear she believes that for these policies to truly work, the president is going to need two full terms in office.

Her goal is to now take Trump’s EPA policies to the everyman in every state to ensure they all know just how important these policies are.

Gunasekera’s understanding of these policies makes her the ideal person to take this information to the general public and present it in a way that everyone completely understands the policies and how important it is for Trump to get re-elected.

She is also the ideal person to make everyone understand just how unrealistic Ocasio-Cortez’s plan really is. Gunasekara stated, “The Green New Deal is a liberal energy fantasy.”

“I know it would cost up to $5 trillion and put in peril millions of hardworking American jobs in the coal, oil, and natural gas. I am not sure what it would actually do that is good for the environment,” she added.
