Are people finally starting to wake up about Donald Trump’s presidency?

If you believe a recent op-ed in the Washington Post, those that thought Trump was pulling the wool over their eyes regarding his pro-life stance and faith are finally coming around.

What Changed
During the campaign, Trump managed to get the evangelical vote behind his campaign.

For millions of Americans, this appeared to be nothing more than a coup for Trump.

They were positive the evangelicals would regret their decision.

Along with the evangelicals comes the pro-life stance.

Trump’s reputation preceding him, most thought his dedication to this cause would also eventually fade.

Something funny happened, though, as the pro-life stance by our government has been solidified during the Trump presidency.

How It Happened
Much of this has its roots in a conservative Supreme Court that has been solidified with Trump’s appointment of Neil Gorsuch.

Prior to Gorsuch being named, though, there was a case on the docket regarding pro-life organizations and abortion.

When the Supreme Court kicked the case back down to lower courts, it was a huge win for conservatives.

More recently, the Supreme Court declined to hear a case centered around Arkansas abortion clinics, effectively banning abortion in Arkansas.

The Supreme Court on Monday also tossed out a ruling by lower courts that allowed a pregnant undocumented immigrant to have an abortion against the wishes of the Trump administration.

While the abortion has already happened, the decision by the Supreme Court now sets the precedent.

The fact of the matter is that Trump has delivered on his promises regarding his pro-life stance.

Do You Support Trump’s Pro-Life Stance?
Yes
No
Next
Unlike most other presidents in modern times, Trump continues to deliver on virtually every promise he made during his campaign.

And doing so will continue to change the minds of his doubters.

Trump Delivers Powerful Message At Arlington Hours After Critics Slam Him for ‘Appalling’ Memorial Day Tweet

President Donald Trump is receiving criticism for tweeting that those who sacrificed their lives in military service to the country would be “happy and proud” to see the United States doing so well.

Many took to social media to accuse the president of making Memorial Day about himself, but Trump did take the time to pay his respects at Arlington National Cemetery to those who paid the ultimate price in service to their country.
“Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today,” the president wrote in a Monday morning tweet.
“Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice!”

The liberal group VoteVets.org described Trump’s sentiments as “appalling.”
“This is the most inappropriate #MemorialDay comment that a @POTUS has ever made,’ the group tweeted. “Self-promotion on a day to remember the fallen, and wishing those remembering their deceased loved ones a ‘happy’ holiday is appalling.”
CNN’s Chris Cillizza, a frequent Trump critic, tweeted, “Donald Trump: Putting the ‘Me’ in Memorial Day.”
“This is a tweet about Trump masquerading as a tweet about Memorial Day,” Cillizza wrote in a linked article. “The remembrance of those who fell in service to the country is used here by Trump as simply a launching pad to tout accomplishments during his first 16 months in office.”
Retired Air Force Gen. Michael Hayden, who served as CIA director under presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush, responded via Twitter simply, “OMG.”
Trump paid his respects to the fallen by participating in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb on the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery before addressing thousands on hand at Memorial Amphitheater on the cemetery’s grounds.

James Clapper admits Kim Jong Un ‘may have met his match’ in Trump

James Clapper admits Kim Jong Un ‘may have met his match’ in Trump
Michael Vadon / CCL
One of President Donald Trump’s most persistent critics has been forced to give his nemesis credit for what could become the most substantial foreign policy victory of the 21st century.

Hailing from the Obama deep state, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper admitted to CNN that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un “may have met his match” in President Donald Trump.

Undeniable success
Appearing Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union program, Clapper agreed that the president did the right thing by canceling a planned summit with North Korea. Clapper told CNN’s Dana Bash that he agreed with the tone and message of a letter composed by Trump which spelled out his reasons for canceling the June 12 summit.

“I support the letter that President Trump sent to Kim Jong Un,” Clapper said. “I think it was a good thing to do.”

After a senior North Korean official referred to Vice President Mike Pence as a “political dummy,” and warned of a “nuclear showdown” with the communist regime, Trump issued a heavy-handed response, not only canceling the summit but rendering some dire warnings of his own. He wrote:

Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting. Therefore, please let this letter serve to represent that the Singapore summit, for the good of both parties, but to the detriment of the world, will not take place. You talk about your nuclear capabilities, but ours are so massive and powerful that I pray to God they will never have to be used.

Not your average POTUS
Clapper believes that Trump’s “very unconventional” foreign policy strategy may be the answer to reversing years of failed diplomacy with North Korea. “This is typical … Two steps forward, one step back. That’s what [the North Koreans] always do,” the nation’s former top spy observed.

Do you think Trump is handling North Korea successfully?
Yes
No
Next
In 1994, Pyongyang signed the Agreed Framework and halted its illicit plutonium enrichment program in exchange for international aid, only to withdraw from the Non-Proliferation Treaty in January 2003 and resume nuclearization. This diplomatic failure was followed by another when the Six-Party Talks initiated in August 2003 eventually compelled Pyongyang to abandon “all nuclear weapons and nuclear programs,” only to wreck years of negotiating by test-firing a ballistic missile in 2009.

Despite North Korea’s dishonest track record, Clapper is hopeful. “In some ways, Kim Jong Un may have met his match here with our very unconventional president,” he concluded.

Serial liar
Clapper’s praise is highly unusual considering that his upcoming memoir, Facts and Fears: Hard Truths From a Life in Intelligence, has been described as nothing more than “a bitter appraisal of Trump and the Russian plot to put him in power.” Since before Trump’s inauguration, Clapper has worked tirelessly to discredit the president, even leaking details of an uncorroborated anti-Trump dossier to CNN’s Jake Tapper that he would later refer to as “pseudo-Intelligence.”

Trump has so far refused to take the intelligence spook’s criticism sitting down, however. He called Clapper “a lying machine” just last month after a House Intelligence Committee report detailed how the spy chief “flatly denied” being the source of leaks regarding the Steele dossier. Later, Clapper “acknowledged discussing the ‘dossier with CNN journalist Jake Tapper” in the days leading up to Trump’s inauguration.

This wouldn’t be the first time Clapper got away with perjury, either. The intelligence director was accused of presiding over a “deception spree regarding mass surveillance” when he perjured himself by telling Congress that the Obama administration was not collecting “any type of data at all” on millions of Americans, lending credence to the president’s claims that he is a serial liar.

Regardless of this mutual animosity, both Trump and Clapper appear to agree on one thing: there is still hope for a productive summit between Trump and Kim. “Having gone this far, there’s value in meeting and greeting, gripping and grinning and just establishing a rapport,” Clapper told CNN. “Yes, I think it would be important to have the summit.”

Trump confirmed his consensus early Tuesday morning when he tweeted, “Meetings are currently taking place concerning Summit, and more. Kim Young Chol, the Vice Chairman of North Korea, heading now to New York. Solid response to my letter, thank you!”

If there is going to be a summit, it will be on Trump’s terms, a diplomatic victory that even Trump’s fiercest rivals are forced to acknowledge.

Federal employees were just put on notice… and they don’t like it one bit.

On Friday, President Trump signed a series of executive orders that will now make it easy to fire low-performing federal workers.

Finally… Some Accountability
Most of us go to work with the realization that if we do not perform well at our jobs, we will end up losing our jobs.

Federal workers, however, are protected by a union that enables subpar workers to continue collecting a paycheck funded with our tax dollars.

Trump vowed to end wasteful government spending during the election and these new executive orders will do just that.

The legislation creates new guidelines to review employees and will finally hold them accountable if they are not doing their jobs.

In addition, it caps the amount of time employees can be paid when they have to take off work for union-related business.

Both policies make sense, at least to conservatives.

Quite frankly, the only people that should be upset about this legislation are the people NOT doing their jobs.

Unions Upset
The President of the American Federation of Government Employees, J. David Cox, Sr., was more than a little upset about the signing of the orders.

Cox stated, “This is more than union busting – it’s democracy busting.”

Andrew Bremberg, Director of the President’s Domestic Policy Council disagrees, though.

“This President is fulfilling his promise to promote more efficient government by reforming our civil service rules,” Bremberg stated.

He continued, “These executive orders will make it easier for agencies to remove poor-performing employees and ensure that taxpayer dollars are more efficiently used.”

Do You Support Trump’s New Executive Orders?
Yes
No
Next
Early estimates state this new legislation could put as much as $100 million a year into the pockets of American taxpayers.

That is the amount of money that will be saved due to the current time it takes to fire a subpar federal employee (based on a 2015 Government Accountability Office report).

The Shooting
Everything was going normal on Friday morning.

As has probably happened hundreds of times, a student asked to be excused to go to the rest room.

But, when he returned to class, he was armed and opened fire.

Mr. Seaman immediately charged at the shooter, taking him down after taking several bullet wounds in the process.

The shooter managed to hit one other student in addition to Mr. Seaman.

A witness to the shooting stated, “Mr. Seaman started running at him. He tackled him to the ground.”

The boy continued, “We were all hiding in the back of the classroom behind some desks, then [Seaman] was yelling to call 911, to get out of the building as fast as we could, so we ran [out].”

The Teacher
Seaman, a former college football player, was extremely humble in the aftermath of his heroic effort.

After surgery, he thanked first responders for his care.

He also stated, “I want to let everyone know that I was injured but am doing great.”

Seamen ended up taking three shots during the altercation.

Do You Think Seaman is a Hero?

ABC News Director says Trump is more accessible than Obama and Bush

Most of the media would have you believe Trump is refusing to talk to them.

However, ABC News Director Rick Klein tells a different story, saying President Trump “is above and beyond, far and away more accessible” than his predecessors.

Press Conferences
Presidents do not typically hold a lot of press conferences while in office unless a major event happens.

Even then, the presser is generally controlled by the press secretary.

We have all heard the stories about Obama having softballs tossed at him, so he would not look bad in front of the camera.

Trump has pushed the “traditional” press conference aside in lieu of giving the press almost daily access after meetings.

In addition, Trump likes to keep the people of this country informed about daily happenings via Twitter.

The press does not like that because he has circumvented them and gone right to the people.

Why Use the Press?
Trump has been adamant that he does not trust the Press to tell the story truthfully.

That being the case, he chooses to go direct with the use of Twitter and other social media platforms.

He has literally changed the way elected officials communicate with the public.

The press is just ticked off that he has basically made them irrelevant at this point.

Klein discusses this very subject, stating, “In every way that I can think about, he’s changed the way that a president communicates: the way a president articulates positions, the way the president communicates with world leaders as well as the public.”

Having said all that, Klein also took the opportunity to take a shot at the President.

He stated, “That doesn’t mean that he’s actually answering the questions honestly or forthrightly or all of the important questions.”

Would You Like to See Trump Hold More Press Conferences?
Yes
No
Next
That comment would lead us to believe Klein thinks Obama always answered questions honestly and never skipped out on a question the press wanted answered.

It also explains why Trump does not trust the press.

Trump brings OPEC to heel with a single tweet, oil prices fall

Trump brings OPEC to heel with a single tweet, oil prices fall
Nicole S Glass / Shutterstock.com
President Donald Trump continues to demonstrate that when it comes to foreign affairs strong leadership gets results.

The latest example of this came on Friday, when, amid growing uneasiness, oil prices suddenly fell. The cause: a President Trump tweet telling the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) that its “artificially Very high” prices are unacceptable.
OPEC: oil’s price setter
OPEC has long been the world’s largest exporter of oil, and, more importantly, it is responsible for global oil prices. How so?

In contrast to the world’s other producers, who sell oil at spot prices, OPEC fixes its own price. Countries buy as much oil as is available at the spot prices before turning to OPEC’s fixed prices. As a result, OPEC’s oil supply increases or decreases in accordance with the demand for oil at the fixed price, essentially making OPEC oil’s price setter.

In more practical terms, if OPEC wants the global price of oil to fall, all they have to do is set their fixed price below the market or spot price, since buyers will, instead of paying the high spot prices, simply buy from OPEC. Similarly, if OPEC wants higher prices, they raise their fixed price; and, if they think the market price is correct, they keep their prices in line.

Message issued and received
Since 2016, we have seen a steady rise in oil prices from under $30 in early 2016 to more than $80 a barrel this month. Some even began to speculate that prices may eclipse $100 a barrel.

But, on Friday, this trend suddenly changed with oil falling back down to $80 a barrel. What happened?

Although this question requires a more sophisticated answer, the main thing that happened is President Trump, who clearly understands who is responsible for global oil prices.

And so, last month he directed the following message to OPEC:
Donald J. Trump
✔️
@realDonaldTrump
Looks like OPEC is at it again. With record amounts of Oil all over the place, including the fully loaded ships at sea, Oil prices are artificially Very High! No good and will not be accepted!

The message was received by OPEC.

On Friday, OPEC Secretary General Mohommad Barkindo stated:

We were in the meeting in Jeddah, when we read the tweet. I think I was prodded by his excellency [Saudi Oil Minister] Khalid Al-Falih that probably there was a need for us to respond. We in OPEC always pride ourselves as friends of the United States.

Respond is exactly what OPEC did. Khalid announced that OPEC will likely boost its output in the second half of the year, and, in New York, crude dropped over $3 to below $67 a barrel.

Is President Trump a good negotiator?
Yes
No
Next
“The tweet moved the Saudis,” said Bob McNally, founder of consultant Rapidan Engergy Group LLC in Washington and a former White House oil Official. “The message was delivered loud and clear to Saudi Arabia.”

Once again, we continue to get results from the strong leadership of President Trump.

And, in the global scheme of things, this strong leadership is reestablishing the U.S. as the world’s leader.

How Much Of Trump’s Agenda Is Already Complete? Hint: More Than Reagan’s
https://www.usapoliticstoday.org/donald-trump-agenda-complete-reagan/
By Gary Maher - March 1, 2018077
As critics of President Donald Trump explain it, he’s accomplished absolutely nothing since entering office while causing a whole bunch of unnecessary problems.

Back on Earth, the story is quite different. Trump is plowing through the items on his agenda in impressive fashion.

As the mainstream media and Democratic leaders obsess over wild conspiracy theories and the never-ending stream of gossip that emanates from the nation’s capital, Trump and company are busy working and actually getting things done.

Washington Examiner has the details on exactly how much has been accomplished by Trump thus far.

With unprecedented speed, the Trump administration has already implemented nearly two-thirds of the 334 agenda items called for by the Heritage Foundation, a pace faster than former President Reagan who embraced the conservative think tank’s legendary “Mandate for Leadership”blueprint.

Thomas Binion, director of congressional and executive branch relations at Heritage, said that Trump has implemented 64 percent of the “unique policy recommendations” from the group.

We’re not talking about a few meaningless bullet points that cater to the very few either.

Trump has managed to affect meaningful change that has improved the fortunes of our nation as a whole.

At this stage of his presidency, Reagan had completed 49 percent of the Heritage policy recommendations.

“We’re blown away,” Binion said in an interview. Trump, he said, “is very active, very conservative, and very effective.”

What’s more, he said, Trump hasn’t just focused on one agenda area, but he and his team have pushed through administrative moves on foreign policy, deregulation, immigration, tax reform and health care, moves often ignored by the media.

In the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, Trump jokingly remarked that folks were going to get sick and tired of winning under his leadership.

A little over a year into his first term in office, it’s quite refreshing to note that’s at least an option.

As the commander-in-chief himself may say, he’s managed to deliver on his promises in a big league fashion.
