Heartbreaking: Police officer allegedly shot by illegal immigrant dies

An American hero has lost his life at the hands of yet another undocumented immigrant.

Officer Adam Jobbers-Miller’s death was announced Saturday afternoon by the Fort Meyers Police Department.

The Shooting
Last Saturday, Officer Jobbers-Miller was called to a local gas station to respond to a call over a stolen cell phone.

Officer Jobbers-Miller caught up with the suspect, Wisner Desmaret, a 29-year-old undocumented immigrant from Haiti, lying face down on the street.

Desmaret can be heard on the video captured on Jobbers-Miller’s body cam first telling the officer to not shoot him, then to “shoot me while I’m not looking.”

Desmaret was assured he was not going to be shot and asked to stand up.

At this time, the men who had their cell phone stolen arrived in a car.

The officers went over to talk to the men when Desmaret stood up and attempted to get into the car.

He then attempted to flee the scene on foot and was pursued by Officer Jobbers-Miller.

Just as the officer was catching up to the suspect, Desmaret turned around with his hands down, palms up, appearing to surrender.

He then lunged at the officer, knocking him off balance.

With the officer down on the ground, Desmaret reached for the officer’s gun, removed it from his holster, and shot Officer Jobbers-Miller in the head.

Desmaret then fled the scene but was ultimately taken down by another officer when Desmaret reportedly raised the gun to fire on him.

Never Turned Over
Sadly, this is yet another case where the alleged suspect should have never been in the country.

Desmaret had been arrested multiple times over the past few years and ICE had even placed holds on him twice, in 2008 and 2010.

Unfortunately, Desmaret remained on the streets, ultimately taking the life of Officer Jobbers-Miller.

A man, reportedly wearing an explosive belt, has blown himself up at a football field in Verviers, Belgium, the local prosecutor’s office reported. The man was the only victim.
The man detonated explosives on his person between 8:30am and 9am on Tuesday, Belgian outlet RTL info reported, citing the prosecutor’s office. Police do not know his identity, nor have they established a motive for the apparent suicide bombing.
Nearby streets have been closed to traffic, and a bomb disposal crew are at the scene.

The man was around 50 years old, and walked to the center circle of the field before blowing himself up, according to one witness report.
Mayor Hasan Aydin has downplayed speculation that the man wanted to commit a terrorist act. “Suicide seems plausible,” he told Sudinfo.be. “If he had wanted to do more damage, he would certainly have been in a place in town where there were more people.”

The couple poisoned by Novichok were exposed to the substance after handling a contaminated item, police say.

Charlie Rowley, 45, and Dawn Sturgess, 44, collapsed at a flat in Amesbury, Wiltshire, on Saturday and remain critically ill.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid said the nerve agent was the same as that used on ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter in March.

Russia said Theresa May's government was subjecting them "to hell".

Mr Javid accused Russia of using Britain as a "dumping ground for poison" after the second incident involving the nerve agent.

But a Russian Embassy spokesman said all allegations of the country's involvement were "merely speculative".

The Met said there were around 100 detectives from the Counter Terrorism Network working alongside Wiltshire Police on the "major incident".

Salisbury District Hospital's chief executive Cara Charles-Barks said the couple are "extremely unwell" and remain in a critical condition.

BBC security correspondent Gordon Corera said that because the highest concentration of Novichok was found on the couple's hands, police believe the item they handled could be a container or receptacle that was used to carry the nerve agent.

He said the most likely hypothesis was the Novichok was left over from an item discarded after the attack on the Skripals.

Toxicologist Prof Alastair Hay said it would be possible for Novichok to still be dangerous four months after first use.

Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said there was nothing in the couple's background to suggest the pair had been targeted.

The BBC's home affairs correspondent June Kelly said it has been suggested the item "could be a vial or syringe because of the couple's lifestyle".

Chemical weapons expert Richard Guthrie said it was possible that the couple came across the Novichok after it had been disposed of "in a haphazard way".

Debbie Stark, south west deputy director from Public Health England said the risk to the public of further poisoning incidents "remains low".

In a statement to MPs, Mr Javid said: "It is now time that the Russian state comes forward and explains exactly what has gone on."

He said the "strong working assumption" was that the couple came into contact with Novichok in a location which had not been cleaned up following the Skripal poisoning in nearby Salisbury.

"It is completely unacceptable for our people to be either deliberate or accidental targets, or for our streets, our parks, our towns, to be dumping grounds for poison," he added.

He said he could not rule out the possibility that the Novichok found in Amesbury was from the same batch used in the Salisbury attack and that scientists would be "looking into that".

'Muddy the waters'
Earlier, Mrs May said it was "deeply disturbing" to see two more people exposed to Novichok in the UK, and the police would leave "no stone unturned in their investigation".

Shadow home secretary Diane Abbott said British streets must not be allowed to become "killing fields for state actors".

But the spokesman for the Russian Embassy said the government had yet to contact them about the incident

He added: "Instead of genuine co-operation, London is doing everything possible to muddy the waters, to confuse and frighten its own citizens.

"One can only guess what the reasons behind such a line of behaviour are."

Ms Sturgess' father Stephen, 65, told The Times the family found out from TV news that she may have been poisoned by a nerve agent.

"We heard from the hospital on Sunday, and we gave them Dawn's GP details but we didn't hear anything from the police.

"We know as much as the next person in the street. We actually called the police station for information."

Charlie Rowley's older brother Matthew said security measures meant he couldn't get through to the hospital despite ringing several times.

"He's my younger brother, I love him to bits," he said.

"I don't want anything to happen to him, and yet it has. It's heartbreaking."

Natalie Smyth from Amesbury said: "I'm furious that it took four days for them [the police] to even mention it could have been Novichok.

"Were they lying to us about it being drug related?"

Although the risk to the public remains low, Public Health England (PHE) have advised those who were in the areas from 22:00 BST on Friday and which are now cordoned off to wash their clothes and wipe down personal items.

Clothing that cannot be washed should be double-bagged and owners should await "further instructions".

Debbie Stark from PHE said areas of Salisbury that have already been cleaned as part of the Skripal incident - such as the Maltings shopping centre - are safe.

Residents at John Baker House, the supported housing where Ms Sturgess is believed to have been staying, have been evacuated and told they will have to be rehoused.

The police warned members of the public against picking up unfamiliar items.

Sites in Amesbury and Salisbury believed to have been visited by the couple before they fell ill have been cordoned off as a precaution, including a church, park and chemist.

The Skripal case is still shrouded in darkness, says Russia spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, as she called on Theresa May's government to stop the "dirty" games.

She said Russia has sent "dozens of offers of co-operation" and she was confident London would have to apologise to her country.

Political assassination attempts seem to be the norm lately.

Zimbabwe Police confirmed a recent bombing was actually as assassination attempt against President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Cowardly Attack
President Mnangagwa was attending a political rally when the attack took place.

When the blast went off, President Mnangagwa was quickly removed from the area.

He escaped without injury.

While President Mnangagwa was unharmed, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga and his wife both sustained injuries.

After the attack, authorities released the following statement:

“There has been an incident at Bulawayo (White City Stadium) where the president was addressing a rally… This is now a police issue, but the president is safe at Bulawayo State House.”

No Joking Matter
This is far from the first time President Mnangagwa’s life has been threatened.

In fact, the president often jokes about assassination attempts on him, as they have happened far too frequently.

The threats against President Mnangagwa started literally from the moment he came into power.

After taking over in November, he had to flee his own country in fear for his life.

Those threats will more than likely continue.

A woman crying “Allahu akbar” — “God is great” in Arabic — injured two people with a box cutter Sunday at a supermarket in southern France before she was detained.
A customer in the store in the maritime town of La Seyne-sur-Mer was injured in the chest and hospitalized. A woman working the cash register was hurt less seriously, French radio station Europe 1 quoted the prosecutor in nearby Toulon as saying.
Prosecutor Bernard Marchal said the suspect may have mental health problems. She has not been identified. Police were searching her home.
“It’s apparently an isolated case involving a person with psychiatric issues,” the prosecutor told Le Monde newspaper quoted the prosecutor as saying. However, that does not exclude the possibility that the suspect was radicalized, Marchal added.
“There is a presumption of attempted murder and … of a crime with terrorist implications,” Marchal was quoted as saying.

Regional newspaper Nice-Matin, which first reported the 10:30 a.m. attack, quoted an unidentified witness as saying that people in the store stopped the woman from cutting anyone else.

TERRORIST INFILTRATION
Early today 2 terrorists carrying an axe attempted to cut the border fence and cross into Israel from Gaza. IDF troops arrived at the scene and shot and killed one of the terrorists. The other terrorist was wounded and managed to escape back into Gaza. 
 
Last night, terrorists from Gaza cut through the border fence and infiltrated into southern Israel, where they set fire to a container containing equipment used for the construction of an anti-tunnel barrier along the border. The terrorists escaped back across the border into Gaza. No injuries were reported but significant damage was caused. 
 
Also yesterday, an incendiary kite sent from Gaza started a fire that swept through the Shokeda Forest in southern Israel. PM Netanyahu called for implementing a plan that would allocate compensation taken from Palestinian Authority (PA) funds for Israeli communities bordering Gaza that suffer damage as a result of terror activity from Gaza. 
 
On Saturday night 4 rockets were fired into Israel from Gaza. Three out of the four rockets were intercepted by Iron Dome. The Israel Air Force responded to the rockets by attacking Hamas military targets in Gaza.

Russian servicemen have been killed in shelling carried out by terrorists in Deir ez-Zor province in eastern Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
Terrorists attacked Syrian and Russian troops, and the latter was forced to respond, according to the MoD. A total of 43 terrorists were killed in the clashes, and six vehicles were also destroyed, the ministry stated.

Two Russian military advisers were killed on the spot and five more of the country’s servicemen were injured and transported to hospital. Later, two more servicemen succumbed to their injuries.

Son of Boston police captain pleads guilty to terrorism

Homegrown terrorists can come from anywhere, and this case proves just that.

Alexander Ciccolo, the 25-year-old son of a Boston police captain, recently pled guilty to two counts of terrorism.

Local Terrorists
When the Department of Justice published the report on Monday, people were stunned.

How could the son of a local law enforcement officer turn into a terrorist?

Ciccolo not only admitted to supporting ISIS, but he also said he collected explosives and weapons to help “further its goal.”

His goal was to literally murder his fellow American citizens for ISIS.

Assistant Attorney General John Demers stated, “Homegrown violent extremists pose a serious danger to innocent Americans.”

Luckily, his own father, a police captain in the Boston PD, alerted law enforcement his son was interested in ISIS.

The Case
After authorities were alerted about Ciccolo, they hatched a plan to take him down.

Authorities set up a sting with an informant and Ciccolo to buy several weapons.

After he received the weapons delivery, he was arrested.

According to the Justice Department report, Ciccolo had been previously convicted of a crime where he had spent more than a year in jail, making possession of any firearms a crime.

When authorities checked his apartment, they found incendiary devices.

They were crudely made Molotov cocktails using shredded Styrofoam and motor oil.

Ciccolo said using this combination would make the Styrofoam stick to the skin and make them harder to extinguish.

Not long after his arrest, Ciccolo attacked a nurse in processing at the correctional center.

He used a pen and stabbed her more than 10 times.

By pleading guilty, Ciccolo avoided spending the rest of his life in prison and what could have been up to $1 million in fines.

The Justice Department statement said the agreement they reached with him was for 20 years in prison and a lifetime of supervised release once he is paroled.

Ramadan has become less about Muslims celebrating their religion and more about killing people.

Since the start of Ramadan, 41 people have been slaughtered by Jihadists.

A Place in Paradise
Observing Ramadan is supposed to increase the rewards of good behavior according to Muslim beliefs.

Traditionally, Muslims fast from sunrise to sundown.

They must also refrain from smoking, drinking any liquids, and any sexual activity.

Sinful behavior is also forbidden during this team, as is lying, insulting, and cursing.

During this time, Muslims will offer additional prayers.

Extremists
The time of Ramadan has also become bastardized by radical Islamists to include one more thing… murdering infidels.

Extremists believe ridding the earth of infidels during Ramadan will assure them a place in paradise with Allah.

This is why attacks by Jihadists always seem to increase during this month-long celebration.

Jihadist Attacks
One of the worst attacks so far took place in Afghanistan, where nine people were killed and an additional seven were wounded by the Taliban.

The same group is believed to have been behind a second attack that killed eight people, leaving 55 wounded.

While the Afghani president has pleaded for these merciless attacks to not take place during the religious holiday, his pleas have been ignored.

It was apparent his plea was falling on deaf ears right from the very first day of Ramadan.

ISIS claimed responsibility for a stabbing near the main Paris opera house in that left one person dead and four wounded.
The 21-year-old attacker yelled “Allahu Akbar (God is greatest)” during the knife attack, which was later claimed on an ISIS’s propaganda site.
Police who arrived on the scene first tried to subdue the man with a taser but when that proved ineffective, he was shot and killed. He was identified as a native of Chechnya. His parents were taken into custody.
Why does ISIS specifically target Paris? Perhaps the best answer to this question is because they can. Here are five reasons why:

1.  Paris represents the heart of Europe
Targeting the trendy, tourist-laden district of the Paris opera house, located in the second arrondissement just short distance from the Louvre, offers the group the maximum amount of payback on its modus operandi: striking terror into the hearts of infidels. What better place to show that, even with its defeats in Iraq and Syria, the group is still a relevant player in the war to create a global caliphate?

2. Easy to run, easy to hide
As we saw during the investigation into the Paris massacres by ISIS in November 2015, the amount of support the terror group enjoys in the heavily-weighted Islamist suburbs of Paris makes it relatively easy for them to plan and carry out an attack in the city. Operators can move freely, while finding plenty of people willing to hide them when necessary.

3. Lax security  
In an admission that security is not what it should be in Paris even before the attack, police cancelled a number of events for the summer saying there was “a lack of suitable security guarantees.” Among the cancelled events were the popular open-air cinema at Parc de la Villette, the car-free day on the Champs-Elysées and the Quai 54 basketball tournament featuring NBA legend Kobe Bryant, which was to be held at the Place de Concorde.

Intel in Paris is said to be less than in London, for example, where a police presence can be felt on the ground.

4. Homegrown Radicalization
The majority of terror attacks in France were perpetrated by homegrown terrorists, many of whom were radicalized in French mosques and prisons.  A year after the 2015 attacks in Paris, four mosques were closed by Paris authorities for promoting Islamist radicalism. One housed a clandestine Quranic school and was frequented by many convicted of participating in a jihadist recruiting network.

One can ask, why did it take the slaughter of hundreds of innocent French people before the authorities took the necessary steps to shut down the spread of a toxic ideology that was gestating in France for decades?

5. Migration Policy
A recent protest by 300 influential French politicians and media stars against the violent anti-Semitic attacks that have occurred – most recently in Paris – named Islamist ideology as the cause. The letter explicitly identified the threat as emanating from “radical Islamists” in predominantly immigrant Muslim communities.

From the slums of Calais to the streets of Paris, France has failed to properly address its degrading migrant situation, which further contributes to the country’s Islamist radicalization problem.

At least 11 people have been killed in three seemingly coordinated suicide bombings that hit churches in the second-largest city of Indonesia, police said. Dozens of people have been injured.
"The victims are still being identified," said East Java police spokesman Frans Barung Mangera. Police say they have also secured a fourth, unexploded bomb at a church.

Around 40 victims who were injured in the attacks were transported to hospital, East Java provincial police spokesman Colonel Frans Barung Mangera told reporters, as cited by the Straits Times.

The authorities said that the attacks were carried out by a local terrorist group linked to the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS, ISIL). A spokesman for the country’s intelligence agency said that Jemaah Ansharut Daulah was behind the blasts. The group has pledged allegiance to ISIS mastermind Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

The bombings are likely linked to a deadly riot in a high-security jail in Jakarta, which led to the death of five police officers and one inmate on Thursday, said Wawan Purwanto, the communication director at the intelligence agency, as reported by Metro TV. The failed prison break was claimed by IS, but authorities did not believe it was involved.

The three blasts hit on Sunday morning, within 10 minutes of each other, police said. Police have only provided details on one attack so far, which took place at Santa Maria Catholic Church.

"We have confirmed one died at the scene, one died at the hospital, two police officers were injured and there are some civilians injured," Mangera said. "In total 13 people are being treated at the hospital."

The perpetrator of the blast and a churchgoer were among the deceased at Santa Maria Church, The Jakarta Globe reported, citing police.

Two other explosions rocked the Protestant Indonesian Christian Church in Jalan Diponegoro and a Pentecostal church. Pentecostalism is a renewed movement within mainline Protestant Christianity.

AFP reported that the death toll from the triple bombing has risen to six people, with at least 35 injured, according to police. It’s unclear whether it includes the perpetrators of the attacks.

Christians constitute some 10 percent of the population of Indonesia, the largest Muslim-majority country in the world. There have been a number of extremist attacks on religious minorities in the country in recent years.

No group has claimed responsibility for Sunday's bombings so far.

The man who stabbed one person to death and injured several others at the Place de l’Opera in central Paris was born in Chechen Republic and was aged around 20, French media report. The assailant was neutralized by police.

The assailant was a Russian born in Chechnya in 1997, RTL radio network said, adding that his mother and father had been taken into custody for questioning.

There have been conflicting reports about the nationality of the Paris attacker. AP cited an official, who wasn't authorized to be publicly named, that the assailant had French nationality but was born in Chechnya.Later, a judicial source confirmed to AFP that the man was “French, born in Chechnya in 1997.” 

Reports in BFMTV and Le Parisien suggest that he was Russian.

The knife attacker wasn’t listed on Fiche S, an indicator used in France to flag individuals considered a threat to national security who should be kept under constant watch, RTL said.

Shouting “Allahu akbar,” the attacker injured five people, two of them critically, on Saturday evening. One of the victims, a 29-year-old man, later succumbed to his injuries.

“At this stage, on the basis of testimonies mentioning the fact that the aggressor shouted 'Allahu akbar' when attacking passersby with a knife, given the modus operandi, we dispatched the anti-terrorist section of the prosecutor's office,” Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said.

Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) claimed responsibility for the attack, the group’s affiliated website Amaq said. However, investigators have not verified the organization’s claim.

Several people have been stabbed at the Place de l'Opéra in central Paris, with police confirming the attacker has been neutralized. Footage from the scene shows people running in panic and a body covered in blood.
Paris police have confirmed that the assailant has been killed. They said five people were injured in the attack, two of them critically, and one victim died.

The attack took place in the heart of the city, in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris.
