For His Mercy
The word bondage is defined as slavery or involuntary servitude, the state of being bound by or subjected to some external power or control. No
matter where you go or what you do it seems we are subject to some kind
of power that tells us how to dress, act, talk, and even think. People
are no longer allowed to express their opinion out of fear that they
might offend someone, get sued or worse, go to jail or get killed, and
this is the bondage that those who live in the world are subject to.
Imagine what Christians are going through, we can not even mention the
name Jesus without offending someone? However, Jesus says, Settle
it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall
answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your
adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. And ye shall be
betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and
some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated
of all men for my name's sake. But there shall not an hair of your head
perish. - Luke 21:14-18.

The Israelites were about to enter the beautiful land promised to them
by God Almighty, there was only one problem, it was already in
possession by others, amongst them were the Canaanites. Moses reminds
them of the ten commandments that God had written with His own finger
and that God had made them in order to keep them from falling into the
corruption of the Canaanites and every one else dwelling there. I
am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from
the house of bondage. Thou shalt have none other gods before me. Thou
shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that
is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the
waters beneath the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor
serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth
generation of them that hate me, And shewing mercy unto thousands of
them that love me and keep my commandments.- Deuteronomy 5:6-10.

Unlike the bondage we are subject to in the world, God's laws are not
given to censure and bound His people, but to protect them from all the
corruption and suffering they would go through. I have had a taste of
the world and all it did was take me to a place that was dark,
manipulative, and deceiving. Thank God for His mercy!
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.- Hebrews 8:12.

Moses reminds the Israelites of God's promise, should they follow His
commandments and encourages them to teach them to their children.
Now
these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the
LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land
whither ye go to possess it: That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God,
to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee,
thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that
thy days may be prolonged. Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do
it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as
the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that
floweth with milk and honey. - Deuteronomy 6:1-3.

While God does give us the things He promises us, He also promises that
it is going to take some work to get them, but also promises that if we
stay faithful and let Him lead us then we have nothing to worry about,
He is going to be there with us, encouraging us along the way and we
will receive them.
Blessed
is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall
receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that
love him. - James 1:12.

We need to think of God's commandments as guides, not something that we
are bound to, laws are set for law breakers not those who try to live
right. And truthfully, only those who become offended by them are the
ones breaking them. God's people are to separate themselves from among
the world, that does not mean we are to sit in a corner and never go out
of the house. That means we are to be cautious and not become friends
with or marry them. God warns the Israelites before they even enter not
to dwell with the people already there.
When
the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to
possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites,
and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the
Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater
and mightier than thou; And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them
before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt
make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: Neither shalt
thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his
son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. For they will turn
away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will
the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly. - Deuteronomy 7:1-4.

Living in sin, an immoral and corruptible life, literally destroys a
person, God is not actually the one that destroys us, we are, all by
ourselves, and it happens quick. One can blame the person who caused
them to sin, but they still allowed it to happen. I fell into sin
because I allowed myself to dwell with those living in sin, but I was
just as accountable for my own actions as they were for subjecting me to
them. However, praise God for His mercy! God knows that some of His
people are going to fall into sin because they get around the wrong
people, but He never breaks His covenant with His people, even when they
fall into corruption He is faithful and will get them to return. The
LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were
more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which
he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a
mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand
of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is
God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that
love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;- Deuteronomy 7:7-9.

God's covenant remains with all who believe in and accept His Son,
Jesus Christ as their Savior. He knows who His people are and knows they
are going to mess up sometimes, but He never forgets nor forsakes who
are His. Jesus, redeems us and gets us right with God. Praise God For
His Mercy! Jesus says, Ye
judge after the flesh; I judge no man. And yet if I judge, my judgment
is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me...I have
many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and
I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him...And ye
shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free - John 8:15,16,26,32.

There is one thing we do not have to work to keep and that is our
salvation. Jesus redeems us and sets us free from the bondage of sin.
Praise God! Now, that does not mean that we will never sin or be tried
again, but it does mean that He will never leave us for His mercy
endures forever. The closer we get to Jesus the easier it will be to
free ourselves from all the things of the world that have kept us
bondage.
Now
we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the
feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none
render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good,
both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without
ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus concerning you...And the very God of peace sanctify you
wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved
blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. - I Thessalonians 5:14-18,23. Praise God!

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the land flowing with milk and honey, which is a picture of the Kingdom of God for without Him we would never get to see. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. - John 3:3.

Warning Labels

Warning labels are used to inform and caution us about any possible
danger that could happen in the result of using a product. Warning
labels are stamped on just about everything we possess, from food, to
medication, to toys, and even water. Sometimes you may read a warning
and think, “How stupid, who would do that anyway?” However, 99% of the
time when a warning has been placed on a product it is because it has
already happened and the manufacturer wants you to be aware of their
findings. God, our manufacturer, gives us commands to follow, warning
labels, for that very reason. He has seen and foreseen His people get
caught up in some dangerous situations and wants us to be aware of them
so we do not make the same mistakes. The Bible says, “As
ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been
taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil
you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men,
after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” - Colossians 2:6-8.

Before the Israelites entered the promised land, Moses gave them a
review of the commands that God had given to their fathers, which were
now passed down to them, and to be passed down from generation to
generation. These commands were to be used specifically in the land they
were about to possess as they were about to enter an ungodly, corrupt
nation, which God already knew was before them when they left Egypt. As
Moses recalls all the events that took place over their forty years in
the wilderness, he reminds them that Joshua would be the one to lead
them into the promised land.
“And
I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that
the LORD your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the LORD do
unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest. Ye shall not fear them: for
the LORD your God he shall fight for you. And I besought the LORD at
that time, saying, O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy
greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in
earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might? I
pray thee, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan,
that goodly mountain, and Lebanon. But the LORD was wroth with me for
your sakes, and would not hear me: and the LORD said unto me, Let it
suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter. Get thee up into the
top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and
southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt
not go over this Jordan. But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and
strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall
cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.” - Deuteronomy 3:21-28.

Regardless of how much we read the warning labels some things are
often overlooked, I can not eat anything that has been enriched so, I
have to read every product label. I admit sometimes I just skim through
it, only reading the first few ingredients, thinking those are the most
important, only to find our minutes after I ate the food that that
little bit was just as important to my health. No matter how many times
we read God's Word we overlook something important, that is why it is
important to keep reading it. The more we read it the more we see the
warning labels within it and become armed to the dangers that are ahead
of us. “Put
on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the
wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” - Ephesians 6:11-13.

Moses encourages the people to follow God's commands (His Word) and
teach them to their children and when they do they will be blessed, but
cautioned them against adding to or taking away from them.
“Now
therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments,
which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and
possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.Ye shall
not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish
ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God
which I command you...Behold,
I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God
commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess
it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your
understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these
statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding
people...Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest
thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart
from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and
thy sons' sons;” - Deuteronomy 4:1,2,5,6,9.

It is important that we learn and teach all of God's Word, if it is in the Bible it is important to God. “All
scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good
works.” - II Timothy 3:16,17.

Before Moses completed his speech he reminded them that God will
always be with them, he foretold of some events that would take place
should they fall, but assured them that even if they mess up He is
merciful to all who are faithful to Him.
“And
the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few
in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you. And there
ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which
neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. But if from thence thou shalt
seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all
thy heart and with all thy soul. When thou art in tribulation, and all
these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn
to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (For the LORD
thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy
thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto
them...Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he
is God; there is none else beside him.” - Deuteronomy 4:27-31,35.

As Christians, we are the few scattered amongst the heathen, guided by
our Lord Jesus Christ, He never leaves us. We may face some trials
because we did not read the warning labels, but God is merciful to
forgive us and still promises that He will never leave nor forsake us.
There truly is no god like the One and Only God Almighty! “Let
your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such
things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor
forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I
will not fear what man shall do unto me...Now the God of peace, that
brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the
sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect
in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is
wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for
ever and ever. Amen.” - Hebrews 13:5,6,20,21. Praise God!

Jesus Christ Revealed:
Today Jesus is revealed through Joshua who would lead the Israelites
into the promised land. Jesus is the only one who can lead us to the
promised land. “For
the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall
lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all
tears from their eyes.” - Revelation 7:17.

Instant Replay


An instant replay is a recording of an event that recently happened.
Before you were saved, perhaps you were asked this question, If you
were to die right now, would you know for sure that you would be in
heaven? While we can not know the hour that God decides to bring this
life here on earth to pass, we can know whether or not we will be in
heaven. Why is it so important? The day will come when every one of us
will meet Jesus face to face, whether we are Christians or not, we will
all stand before our great judge and get a instant replay of the life
that we had here on earth.
And
take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged
with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that
day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them
that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray
always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that
shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. - Luke 21:34-36.

The Book of Deuteronomy is the fifth book of the Old Testament/Bible
and contains thirty-four chapters. The author of the book is Moses and
it was first written for the Israelites, the time-line is approximately
1451BC. The purpose of the book was to restate the law to the new
generation of Israelites that was given forty years ago on Mt. Sinai to
their parents. What we learn from the book is that obedience to God
always brings His blessings, but disobedience always brings judgment
too. For
the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a
mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the
stranger, in giving him food and raiment. - Deuteronomy 10:17,18.

The Israelites were almost there, shortly they will be able to cross
over the Jordan and walk into the land that they had only dreamed they
would see. Before they could enter Moses gave them some instructions,
since this was a new generation they needed to be reminded of why they
were wandering around the wilderness for forty years and what they were
about to head into. First, he reminded them of the promise God made to
them and the reason why they were still in the wilderness.
The
LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough
in this mount: Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of
the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in
the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to
the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the
river Euphrates. Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and
possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac,
and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them...Behold, the
LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as
the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be
discouraged. ..Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your
God,..And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and
sware, saying, Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil
generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your
fathers...Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and
your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and
evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they
shall possess it. - Deuteronomy 1:6-8,21,32, 34,35,39.

Because of their unbelief, all but two people, Caleb and Joshua, from
the first generation to be freed from Egypt were able to enter the
promised land, even Moses forfeited his right tom enter because of his
disbelief. This is a reminder that only those who believe in the Son of
man, who is the Son of God, Jesus Christ, will be able to enter the
promised land.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of
God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe
on the name of the Son of God. - I John 5:13.

Moses warned the Israelites about the giants that they would face as
they entered the promised land, but assured them that God would be with
them and as long as He was they would be able to defeat every giant that
got in front of them.
And
command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of
your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall
be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore: Meddle
not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as
a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a
possession. Ye shall buy meat of them for money, that ye may eat; and ye
shall also buy water of them for money, that ye may drink. For the LORD
thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy
walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy
God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.- Deuteronomy 2:4-7.

Remember back in the Book of Numbers we read that the Israelites tried
to pass through Moab and they would not let them pass? Now they would
be able to pass without any problems. Why? There were several reason,
first, God was chastening them a bit, second, He was strengthening them
for battle to come, third, He was getting them to learn to trust Him. To
trust God when we are faced with giants does
not come naturally for anyone. It takes a lot of strength and will to
be able to withstand the evil forces that keep us from being obedient to
God. However, with determination combined with the Power of God He can
and will help us defeat every giant that tries to knock us down. Whom
resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are
accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all
grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after
that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen,
settle you. - I Peter 5:9,10.

The Israelites just got a replay of their forty years in the
wilderness, when we face Jesus He is going to rewind the tapes and show
us many things, perhaps, the day we got saved, the things we have done
for Him, the opportunities we missed along the way. The rewards we
receive in heaven are dependent upon what we do for God after we get
saved, for they are what will last eternally. However, those who are not
saved have just lost their chance, because of their disbelief they can
not enter the promised land. He
that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he
shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable,
and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all
liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and
brimstone: which is the second death. - Revelation 21:7,8.

The second death is eternal separation from God and spending an
eternity in the lake of fire. No one has to end up in hell, all they
have to do to walk into the promised land is believe. He
that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that
believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the
record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath
given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the
Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
- I John 5:10-12. Praise God!


Jesus Christ Revealed:
Today Jesus is revealed through Moses, who spoke to the Israelites
according to all that God commanded him. Jesus faithfully told others
everything God told Him to say. When
ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and
that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak
these things. John 8:28.

United, But Separated

The
word nation is defined as a country with its own government, a body of
people, civilization, or a society. The second you call on Jesus Christ
as your Savior you become part of a nation, a body of people united by
one person, Jesus Christ, in other words you are a part of a Christian
Nation. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. - Romans 12:4,5.
Now,
within the nation there are tribes, a group of Christians with common
interests. The word tribe is defined as an ethnic group, a family, a
group with a common interests. While, we are all Christians by our faith
in Jesus Christ, it is important that we remain within our own tribe,
in other words, our own religion. Why? The Bible says, For
this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous
man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ
and of God. Let
no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh
the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore
partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye
light in the Lord: walk as children of light:..And have no fellowship
with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
- Ephesians 5:5-8,11. While we all may be united with Christ, we must
separate ourselves from those who might not be following the correct
doctrine that God has given us.

The Israelites were getting ready to cross over the Jordan into the
promised land God sent the boarders of the land and appointed Eleazar
the priest and Joshua to be the ones who would divide Canaan up for the
tribes, each tribe was given a certain amount of cities according to the
number or people in the tribe.

And
the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Command the children of Israel, and
say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land
that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan
with the coasts thereof:) And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, These
are the names of the men which shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar
the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun. And ye shall take one prince of
every tribe, to divide the land by inheritance. - Numbers 34:1,2,16-18.

All Christians will receive a part of the inheritance of the Kingdom of
God, how much of it we get depends upon how much we do for God after we
get saved. If
thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a
good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of
good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. But refuse profane and old
wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily
exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things,
having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to
come...Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them:
for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. - I Timothy 4:6-8,16.

After God gave the instructions on where they would dwell He gave them
instructions on where the Levites were to dwell, since they were
ministers of the service of God they did not receive their own
inheritance, but were appointed cities to dwell in within each tribe.
They were to be given forty-eight cities, six of those were known as
cities of refuge.
And
among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites there shall be
six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he
may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities. So all
the cities which ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty and eight
cities: them shall ye give with their suburbs. And the cities which ye
shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from
them that have many ye shall give many; but from them that have few ye
shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites
according to his inheritance which he inheriteth. - Numbers 35:1-3,6-8.

The Levites were given cities among all the tribes so they could
minister to people without them having to go to the tabernacle every
time. The cities of refuge were given as a safe place for an offender to
dwell until either he was acquitted or had someone after him and needed
a safe place to hide. Today, our refuge is through Jesus Christ,
literally He gives us a safe place to hide from the devil as well as
kept us from death and being cast into the lake of fire. In
the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a
place of refuge. The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart
from the snares of death. - Proverbs 14:26,27.

Now the fathers of the tribe of Manasseh were questioning the rights
that a woman would have to their inheritance should she marry into
another tribe. Their thought was that if she marry into a different
tribe then they would loose their inheritance. However, God made it
clear that no tribe will lose any part of their inheritance.
This
is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of
Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the
family of the tribe of their father shall they marry. So shall not the
inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for
every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the
inheritance of the tribe of his fathers. And every daughter, that
possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall
be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the
children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.
Neither shall the inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe;
but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself
to his own inheritance. - Numbers 36:6-9.

Again, once you are saved, you will receive a part of the inheritance
of the Kingdom of God, no one can take that away from you. It is yours
forever and ever. While it is important that we remain within our own
tribe, God assures us that we are still His people and nothing we do can
make us lose the rights to what He has given us simply for believing in
His Son, Jesus Christ. Think of it this way, you have a child, that
child is yours forever, no matter what he or she does, they are still
yours forever. Once you accept Christ as your Savior you are one of
God's children, no matter what you do you are still His for ever and
ever.
And
this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this
life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not
the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that
believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have
eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
- I John 5:11-13. Praise God!

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through cities of refuge. That
by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we
might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold
upon the hope set before us:..Whither the forerunner is for us entered,
even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. - Hebrews 6:18,20.

Avoiding The Con



Have you ever fallen for a con, got tricked by someone who thought was
trustworthy? I have known some real charmers in my lifetime, it is
usually after they conned you several times that you realize how
deceitful they are and wonder if they ever told the truth about
anything. You know, we may get conned, but no one can con God. He knows
all, sees all, and goes directly to the heart of every person to see
whether or not they are sincere in fulfilling the commitment they made
with Him.
Who
shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy
place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted
up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the
blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. - Psalm 24:3-5.

When the tribes of Reuben and Gad saw the beautiful land before them
and how much there was of it, having possessed much cattle, they did not
want to dwell in the land that God promised them, instead they asked if
they could remain there.
Now
the children of Reuben and the children of Gad had a very great
multitude of cattle: and when they saw the land of Jazer, and the land
of Gilead, that, behold, the place was a place for cattle;..And they
came near unto him, and said, We will build sheepfolds here for our
cattle, and cities for our little ones: But we ourselves will go ready
armed before the children of Israel, until we have brought them unto
their place: and our little ones shall dwell in the fenced cities
because of the inhabitants of the land. We will not return unto our
houses, until the children of Israel have inherited every man his
inheritance.- Numbers 32:1,16-18.

Beyond that beautiful land was a land full of idolatry and corruption,
but they were blind to the dangers of it because all they saw was the
surface. While the promised land had much of the same, the one thing
that this land did not have was God's presence. The Reubenites and
Gadites are examples of people who know God, are probably saved, but God
rarely plays a role in their lives. The problem with that is that one
day when they need God the most He is not going to be there to comfort
and help them because they never acknowledged Him.
I
will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence,
and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early. - Hosea 5:15.
Until we acknowledge God, we will not know His presence.

After Moses questioned them he came up with a compromise that would
allow the Reubenites, Gadites, and half of the tribe of Manasseh to
possess the land, they needed to help the other tribes get into the
promised land. First of all, God hates compromise, second of all,
neither Moses nor the tribes sought guidance from God in this matter.
However, God allowed Moses to instruct them on the matter.
And
Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if ye will go armed
before the LORD to war, And will go all of you armed over Jordan before
the LORD, until he hath driven out his enemies from before him, And the
land be subdued before the LORD: then afterward ye shall return, and be
guiltless before the LORD, and before Israel; and this land shall be
your possession before the LORD. But if ye will not do so, behold, ye
have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
Numbers 32:20-23.
Upon
this declaration Moses frees them from all guilt, and promises them the
desired land for a possession, on condition that they fulfill their
promise, but he reminds them again of the sin that they will commit, and
will have to atone for, if their promise is not fulfilled. We can not
hide from our sins, even the most cleaver con can not con God. If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. Let
no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this
world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of
this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the
wise in their own craftiness. - I Corinthians 3:17-19.

The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to the plains of Moab by Jordan
near Jericho, they were close to the promised land. God gave them
instructions before they were to cross over the Jordan.
And
the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho,
saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye
are passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan; Then ye shall drive out
all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their
pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all
their high places: And ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land,
and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it. And ye
shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and
to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye
shall give the less inheritance: every man's inheritance shall be in the
place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye
shall inherit. But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land
from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let
remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides,
and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell. Moreover it shall come
to pass, that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them.
- Numbers 33:50-56.

God gave them all a stern warning, once they crossed over the Jordan,
they were about to enter a land full of temptation and corruption. They
were ordered to drive out all of the people and everything that would
give them cause to sin. If they did not they would face constant
affliction and suffering, not only by them, but by God Himself. God
instructs all His people to drive out anyone and anything that would
cause them to sin. Why? No matter how strong we are or how close we are
to God, if the temptation remains eventually one will give into it.
Be
ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship
hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light
with darkness?..Wherefor e come out from among them, and be ye separate,
saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters,
saith the Lord Almighty. - II Corinthians 6:14,17,18.

Sometimes no matter how much we try to avoid the con, we fall for
something, simply because we try to trust and see the good in everyone. I
do not know how many times I or my family has allowed someone to stay
at our house only to find corruption in it. It is important that as
Christians we do all we can to avoid these situations, set some
boundaries, be cordial, but always on guard. Now
we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the
feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none
render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good,
both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without
ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the Spirit. Despise not
prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain
from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you
wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. - I Thessalonians 5:14-23.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the promised land (33:50-54).
I
am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go
in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal,
and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and
that they might have it more abundantly. - John 10:10.

But A Sword

As Christians we are in a war, a constant battle, not only with the
world, but with religion and false Christians as well. Back in the 80's
there was a quote that surged the nation, every time there was some kind
of conflict between a group of people a person would say, “Can't we all
get along?” The truth is, “We can't all get along”. It would be
wonderful if there really could be peace on earth, but that will never
happen. The only place we will all get along is in heaven. Since we are
at war, God is arming His people with the one thing that no one can
defeat and that is His Word. There is nothing more powerful than words,
you can take out the strongest person simply by uttering a few words.
Imagine those words coming from God Himself?



Jesus said, “Behold,
I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise
as serpents, and harmless as doves...But when they deliver you up, take
no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that
same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the
Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. And the brother shall
deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the
children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put
to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he
that endureth to the end shall be saved...Think not that I am come to
send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. ” - Matthew 10:16,19-22, 34.



The Israelites were given a command concerning those who made a vow
with God, men and women alike were commanded to follow through with
whatever it was that they vowed to do for God. However, there were a few
exceptions where God would release the person from a vow and he or she
would not be obligated to fulfill the commitment.



“And
Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of
Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded. If a
man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a
bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that
proceedeth out of his mouth. If a woman also vow a vow unto the LORD,
and bind herself by a bond, being in her father's house in her youth;
And her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her
soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her; then all her vows
shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall
stand. But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not
any of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul,
shall stand: and the LORD shall forgive her, because her father
disallowed her. And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or
uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul; And her
husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it:
then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul
shall stand.” - Numbers 30:1-7.



The soul is the center of a person, it is dependent upon the flesh or
the Spirit of God for fulfillment, it is much more valuable to God than
the flesh and why He expects a person who vows a vow or makes a
commitment with their soul to follow through with it. Why? The flesh is
all about doing what it wants to do and we all know how much trouble we
can get ourselves into by giving into the desires of the flesh. God
knows He can not trust the flesh, but He can trust a soul who is
dependent upon His Spirit. “Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.”
- Mark 14:38. What is the difference between making a vow with the
flesh and soul? Making a vow with the flesh looks to see what
fulfillment it gets out of it for itself while making a vow with the
soul looks to see what fulfillment it can bring others. “Dearly
beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly
lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among
the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they
may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day
of visitation.” - I Peter 2:11,12.



After
the plague upon Israel for their fornication and idolatry, into which
they were drawn by the daughters of Moab and Midian, and after the sum
of the people was taken in the plains of Moab, and new laws were given
or repeated, God gave the command for the Israelites to war with Midian.




“Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people. And
Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the
war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of
Midian. Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel,
shall ye send to the war. So there were delivered out of the thousands
of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war. And
Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and
Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy
instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.” - Numbers 31:2-6.



Our
worst enemies are those that draw us into sin, while God may wait a
while He always avenges those who cause His people to sin. We do not
have to go after them ourselves because God will do it for us and when
we let God take care of it, we always prevail. Over all such enemies
there is absolute victory for those who take sides with God against
them. “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly
beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for
it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink:
for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not
overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” - Romans 12:18-21.



We are in a constant war and will be until the day Jesus returns, we
need to arm ourselves and be the soldier God expects us to be. The most
effective weapon we can possess it the Word of God, there is no need to
seek vengeance with the flesh, just speak His Word and He will take care
of the rest.“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For
we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the
whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.” - Ephesians 6:11-13.



The
other day I was out soul winning and I ran into a man who had quite a
bit of a different opinion then the Gospel, every time he made a
statement I responded by showing him Scripture. He can deny what I say
all he wants, but he can not deny Scripture, after a few times I simply
said, “You know what, just keep believing what you believe, one day I
hope you see the truth.” I walked away that day leaving the most
powerful weapon I possessed in his hands and that was the Word of God.
We can not let anyone compromise our beliefs because we do not want to
make them angry, just keep going in faith knowing that you carry, but a
sword. “Let
us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after
the same example of unbelief. For the word of God is quick, and
powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the
dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and
is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” - Hebrews 4:11,12.



Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the One who will righteously judge all sinners (31:1-17). “Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man. And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.” - John 8:15,16.

King James Daily Bible Study: A Valuable Life


The word sacrifice is defined as an atonement, a surrender of something of value as a means of gaining something more desirable or of preventing some evil,
to give up or let go. Perhaps the most valuable thing we posses is
life, without it we would not even be here. Most of us try to live the
best life we possibly can, the problem with that is it is not usually
something that God has planned for us. Do you know why so many people
fail at what they are trying to do? It is not in God's will for them.
They are not a failure, they are just not meant to do what they are
trying to do. God wants to bless us and see us prosper, but before He
allows that to happen we must be willing to make a sacrifice, to
surrender our most valuable possession over to God, our life. Now, God
does not want you to kill yourself, God is life, so He wants you alive,
not dead. The Bible says,
I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is
your reasonable service. And
be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God. - Romans 12:1,2.
We are precious to God, He just wants us to value our lives as He values them.
Life
is precious to God, why do you think He had the Israelites sacrifice
animals and not people? Why do you think He came down here Himself in
the form of Jesus Christ? He became the sacrifice Himself so no life
would be loss.
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is
the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus
Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit
that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three
that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost:
and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth,
the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
- I John 5:5-8.
Jesus is the Word made flesh, And
the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and
truth. John 1:14.
Daily the priest was to offer up to God two lambs, one in the morning
and one in the evening, this was to be a continual burning day and
night, even on the Sabbath.
And
the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Command the children of Israel, and
say unto them, My offering, and my bread for my sacrifices made by fire,
for a sweet savour unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their
due season. And thou shalt say unto them, This is the offering made by
fire which ye shall offer unto the LORD; two lambs of the first year
without spot day by day, for a continual burnt offering. The one lamb
shalt thou offer in the morning, and the other lamb shalt thou offer at
even; And a tenth part of an ephah of flour for a meat offering, mingled
with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil. It is a continual burnt
offering, which was ordained in mount Sinai for a sweet savour, a
sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD. - Numbers 28:1-6.

This is a reminder that Jesus Christ is the lamb that sacrificed
Himself for all and gives life to all who surrender their lives as a
living sacrifice to Him. All who accept Christ personally send up a
continual burnt offering to God, a sweet savour made by fire up to Him.
Now
thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and
maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. For we
are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in
them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and
to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for
these things? For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but
as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
- II Corinthians 2:14-17.
Out of all the observances to the Lord perhaps that most valuable was
the Day of Atonement, it was the one day of the year that all the people
could receive an atonement for the past year of any sins that might
have been forgotten or unaware of, it was a chance for a clean slate.
And
ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy
convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work
therein: But ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD for a sweet
savour; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year;
they shall be unto you without blemish: And their meat offering shall be
of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals to a bullock, and two
tenth deals to one ram, A several tenth deal for one lamb, throughout
the seven lambs: One kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the sin
offering of atonement, and the continual burnt offering, and the meat
offering of it, and their drink offerings. - Numbers 29:7-11.

Christ gives us a chance for a clean slate, to make an atonement for
all the sins we have done knowingly and unknowingly. We no longer have
to sacrifice animals to be free from sin, all we have to do is go to
Jesus.
For
if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his
Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And
not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by
whom we have now received the atonement. Wherefore, as by one man sin
entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all
men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world:
but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned
from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the
similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to
come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through
the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the
gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto
many. - Romans 5:10-15.

One man, one sinless, spotless man, gave His life as a sacrifice to
save all from hell, but it is only those who come to Him that will be
saved. God loves you, even the most vilest offender, otherwise He would
not have died for you. I once heard a man say, You might go to hell,
but you will not go there unloved. God loves everyone and does not want
to anyone to end up in hell, but just like anything else in life, if
you want something you have to ask for it or take it. The one and only
thing God wants you to take is His gift, He offers it to all, but in
order to take it you must ask Him for it. That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation. - Romans 10:9,10.

Unlike the yearly sacrifices made for atonement, we only have to ask
Jesus once to be atoned, He died once for you, therefore, you only have
to ask Him once to forgive you. So
Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that
look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
- Hebrews 9:28.
Now, you might have to repent once in a while, or even
daily, but by giving your life to Jesus He has given you life through
Him and there is no better sacrifice that we all can make then to give
our lives to Christ. But
these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the
Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
- John 20:31. Praise God!

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the Tabernacle. (29:12-39) But
Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater
and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of
this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own
blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal
redemption for us.- Hebrews 9:11,12.

Inherited Through Christ

The word inheritance is defined as a possession gained through someone's death,
a gift, something obtained or received. Through Christ's death an
inheritance is given to all who put their trust and faith in Him. The
second you call on Jesus Christ to save you Jesus begins preparing the
place that you were inherited in the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In
my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have
told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a
place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that
where I am, there ye may be also. - John 14:1-3.

A second census was taken of the Israelites, 602,730 men twenty years
old and above were counted, not including the Levites, out of the
602,730 only two men were from the first generation of Israelites that
came out of Egypt. Each tribe was given an inheritance according to the
number of people in each tribe.
And
it came to pass after the plague, that the LORD spake unto Moses and
unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying, Take the sum of all
the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and
upward, throughout their fathers' house, all that are able to go to war
in Israel. And Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them in the
plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying, Take the sum of the
people, from twenty years old and upward; as the LORD commanded Moses
and the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of
Egypt...These were the numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred
thousand and a thousand seven hundred and thirty. And the LORD spake
unto Moses, saying, Unto these the land shall be divided for an
inheritance according to the number of names. To many thou shalt give
the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance:
to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were
numbered of him.Numbers 26:1-4,51-54.

This land was given freely to the Israelites, they did not have to work
for it, they did not have to be on their best behavior, they simply
received it because they were God's children. Our works can not get God
to give us a part of the inheritance, it is only by being His child that
we will receive anything from Him. The only way to become a child of
God is through our acceptance of Jesus Christ. However, the amount of
the inheritance we receive will be according to the work we do after we
accept Christ.
And
whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance:
for ye serve the Lord Christ. - Colossians 3:23,24.

Anyone can receive a part of God's Inheritance, there was a family of
Israelites that had no sons, only daughters, when they went before Moses
and asked if they had a right to their fathers land God gave a new
command.
And
they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the
princes and all the congregation, by the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation, saying, Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not
in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the
LORD in the company of Korah; but died in his own sin, and had no sons.
Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family,
because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the
brethren of our father. And Moses brought their cause before the LORD.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, The daughters of Zelophehad speak
right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among
their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their
father to pass unto them. And thou shalt speak unto the children of
Israel, saying, If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his
inheritance to pass unto his daughter. - Numbers 27:2-8.

All who call upon the Lord Jesus Christ will receive part of God's inheritance. That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved...For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for
the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. - Romans 9,12,13.
After God gave the command to divide up the land He told him to go to
mount Abarim, from that mountain Moses could see the promised land,
miles and miles of beauty beheld him. It was there that God reminded
Moses that he would not be able to step foot onto the land because of
his rebellion.
And
the LORD said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and see
the land which I have given unto the children of Israel. And when thou
hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy
brother was gathered. For ye rebelled against my commandment in the
desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the
water before their eyes: that is the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the
wilderness of Zin. And Moses spake unto the LORD, saying, Let the LORD,
the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,
Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which
may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation
of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd. - Numbers 27:12-17.
This
sight of Canaan signified his believing prospect of the better country,
that is, the Kingdom of God. While Moses was stricken from entering the
promised land on earth he was not stricken from entering God's Kingdom.
This is an illustration of the forgiveness of God, no matter what we
have done in the past, we are forgiven and allowed to enter the Kingdom
of God through our faith in Jesus Christ, who is our shepherd. Know
ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be
not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor
effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor
thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners,
shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are
washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the
Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. - I Corinthians 6:9-11. Praise God!

When Jesus was on the cross there were two men next to Him being crucified as well. And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But
the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing
thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive
the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And
he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be
with me in paradise.
- Luke 23:39-43.
Instantly that man was saved and allowed to enter the
Kingdom of God, it was nothing he did to get saved, except for believing
in Christ. If
you have not called on Christ as your Savior you will not be able to
enter the Kingdom of God, you will be able to see it, but not enter.

Through Christ you have received a part of the inheritance of the
Kingdom of God, one day you will not just be allowed to look over the
beautiful land that you could never enter, but will be able to walk
right through those pearly gates into a land so spectacular that it does
not compare to the most beautiful place here on earth. Behold,
the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and
they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be
their God. And
God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no
more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more
pain: for the former things are passed away. - Revelation 21:3,4. Praise God!

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through Moses as he humbly handed over the leadership of the people over to Joshua. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. James 4:10.

King James Daily Bible Study:
From Cursed To Blessed



The word curse is defined as the cause of evil, tribulation, misfortune, or trouble,
to afflict one with great evil. While God does allow His people to face
some trials and tribulations, it is impossible for Him to cause evil or
afflict them with great evil. Many people will question how God can
destroy a nation or allow such evil to take place in the world, but God
is not the one who brings about these curses, it is man bringing it
about himself. You know, Satan may tempt us and poke at us, but he can
not make us do anything we do not want to do any more than God can.
There is one curse that all will be afflicted with and that is death, by
one man, Adam, sin enter the world, passing that curse down to us, but
God made a way for us to remove that curse by sending His Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible says, For
as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is
written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are
written in the book of the law to do them. But
that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident:
for, The just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but,
The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from
the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham
might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive
the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:10-13.

A man named Balak tried everything he could to get God to curse the
Israelites, he even managed to entice one of God's prophets, Balaam, to
try and curse the people. Three times Balaam instructed Balak to build
seven altars and seven sacrifices, but instead of being cursed, they
were blessed.
And
Balaam said unto Balak, Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here
seven oxen and seven rams. And Balak did as Balaam had spoken; and
Balak and Balaam offered on every altar a bullock and a ram. And Balaam
said unto Balak, Stand by thy burnt offering, and I will go:
peradventure the LORD will come to meet me: and whatsoever he sheweth me
I will tell thee. And he went to an high place...And when he came to
him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab
with him. And Balak said unto him, What hath the LORD spoken?..God is
not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should
repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and
shall he not make it good? Behold, I have received commandment to bless:
and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it. He hath not beheld
iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD
his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.
- Numbers 23:1-3,17,19- 21.
Jacob is referred to as the Israelites, God will never reverse His blessing of eternal life to any of His people. No one can curse
one of God's people, the more they do the more God blesses the accused.
Today, if you know Jesus Christ as your Savior than you are one of
God's people. Those
who are saved may expect the ill will of hell, but God will not suffer
real injury done to His people and what is done against them He takes as
done against Himself and deals with them Himself. My Preacher often
talks about a man he visited once while out soul winning, the man said,
“Go to hell.
The Preacher replied, I can tell that that would please
you, but that is something that I can never do. God will allow His
People to be afflicted if we sin, but we will never end up in hell
simply by our faith and trust in the Lord, Jesus Christ. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Romans 6:23.
Those who oppose God and His people will sooner or later be made to see
for themselves that they are only deceiving themselves. An amazing
prophecy of Christ, who is coming to reign in great glory, not only over
Israel but over all men, is foreseen after the third and final attempt
on Balaam and Balak to curse the people.
And
when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he went not,
as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward
the wilderness. And
Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents
according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him...And he
took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the
man whose eyes are open hath said: He hath said, which heard the words
of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of
the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open: I shall
see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come
a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall
smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. And
Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his
enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly. Out of Jacob shall come he that
shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city - Numbers 24:1,2,15-19.
Under the powerful influence of the Spirit of prophecy, Balaam foretold
the future prosperity and extensive dominion of Israel. Balaam boasts
that his eyes are open, he had heard the Word of God, which many do who
neither heed them, nor hear God in them. Balaam, is foretold about not
only his future, but of a seed, a Star, that will come from the seed of
Jacob, he shall see Christ, but not be able to get near Him. Christ
shall be King, not only of the house of Jacob and Israel, but of all the
world.
These
shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he
is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are
called, and chosen, and faithful.- Revelation 17:14.

God's people are more endanger of the charms of a friendly, peaceful
world than one by the terrors of war. Why? Godly people who mix with
friendly ungodly people are quick to fall away from God. The Israelites
began fellowshipping with the Medianites and Moabites thus began
following their gods and corrupted lifestyles.

And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel. And
the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang
them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the
LORD may be turned away from Israel. And Moses said unto the judges of
Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor. And,
behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren
a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the
congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door
of the tabernacle of the congregation. And when Phinehas, the son of
Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the
congregation, and took a javelin in his hand; And he went after the man
of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of
Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from
the children of Israel. And those that died in the plague were twenty
and four thousand. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Phinehas, the
son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away
from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among
them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.
- Numbers 25:3-11.
It
is one thing to commit sin of your own doing, it is another to cause
others to commit sin, God will not stand for someone causing His people
to fall into corruption, especially immoral corruption. The curse that
falls upon those who corrupt God's people is all upon themselves, not
God, not Satan. We all have a choice, if
you know Jesus Christ personally as your Savior then the curse has been
removed and you are blessed with eternal life, while you may suffer
affliction from time to time, nothing you do can bring back that curse.
Satan may try to get you to doubt your salvation, people might try to
curse you, or even entice you with their charm, but nothing or no one
can remove the blessing that God has given you for believing in His Son.
“For
I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor
height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us
from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38,39.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the the prophesied Star and Sceptre. Jesus is our bright and morning star. I
Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the
churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and
morning star. - Revelation 22:16.

King James Daily Bible Study: Stubborn About God's Will


The word stubborn is defined as fixed or set in purpose or opinion,
difficult to handle, treat, or overcome, I imagine we all have areas in
our lives where we are fixed in our opinions or are difficult to
overcome. While this can often be a problem, there is one thing that we
as Christians need to be stubborn about and that is the Word of God, in
other words, to be fixed on the Word of God or God's opinion. The Bible
says,
Blessed
is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth
in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But
his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate
day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of
water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall
not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
- Psalm 1:1-3.
God's opinion and mans are like oil and water, they do
not mix, our opinions can get us into trouble, but God's always lead to a
prosperous life no matter what challenges we face.
Perhaps
one of the most difficult things to do when we are facing challenges is
keep our focus on God, most often we have questions that seem to have
no answers or some even get angry and walk away from God altogether.
It's much easier to blame God than to deal with the situation, the
Israelites were no exception, the second they faced a challenge they
began complaining to Moses, but this time they spoke against God as
well.
And
the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye
brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no
bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light
bread. And
the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people;
and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and
said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against
thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And
Moses prayed for the people. And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a
fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that
every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses
made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass,
that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of
brass, he lived. - Numbers 21:5-9.

The light bread, known as manna is representative of Christ, Your
fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the
bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not
die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat
of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is
my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
- John 6:49-51.
The fiery serpents are representative of sin, the wages
of sin are death, the brass serpent is representative of God's judgment
upon all, all who looked upon the serpent were saved, which is
representative of Christ, who was made to save us from death. All who
look to Christ are saved from that fiery death and live.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.- Romans 6:23.
When
we are stubborn about God's Word it helps us to be stubborn about His
will, God talks to us through Scripture in a way like no other. It keeps
us grounded, it protects us, guides us, and lets us be aware of any
dangers ahead. Remain stubborn in our own will and we can really be
headed for disaster. God makes a point to tell us about a man named
Balaam, Balaam was a godly prophet who allowed himself to be corrupted
by riches. Balak, the king of Moab formed a plan with Balaam to get the
people of Israel cursed, that is, to set God against them.
He
sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which
is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him,
saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they
cover the face of the earth, and they abide over against me: Come now
therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are too mighty
for me: peradventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them, and that I
may drive them out of the land: for I wot that he whom thou blessest is
blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed... And they came to Balaam,
and said to him, Thus saith Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I
pray thee, hinder thee from coming unto me: For I will promote thee unto
very great honour, and I will do whatsoever thou sayest unto me: come
therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people. And Balaam answered and
said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full
of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to
do less or more. Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this
night, that I may know what the LORD will say unto me more.
- Numbers 22:5,6,16-19.
God's promise and warning to Balaam, was the more you try to curse my
people the more blessed they will become. Yet, he had a strong desire to
accept the offer, and hoped that God might give him leave to go. He had
already been told what the will of God was, therefore, he should have
just walked away, instead of telling them to stay there. Once Christ
enters your life you are one of God's and nothing or no one can curse
God's people, Satan is going to try time and time again to tempt His
faithful servants, but remaining in God's Word will remind us to just
walk away and the more they try to curse you the more God blesses you.
There
hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is
faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able;
but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be
able to bear it. - I Corinthians 10:13.
Do you think Balaam listened to God? No. He allowed Balak to convince
him to meet with him. However, as Balaam was heading toward Moab, God
did everything He could to stop and warn him not to meet Balak,
including getting a donkey to speak to him.
And
God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD
stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon
his ass, and his two servants were with him...And when the ass saw the
angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was
kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff. And the LORD opened the
mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee,
that thou hast smitten me these three times? And Balaam said unto the
ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine
hand, for now would I kill thee...Then the LORD opened the eyes of
Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his
sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on
his face. - Numbers 22:11,27-29, 31.

God has many ways to bring down the hardhearted heart, but when our
eyes are opened, we shall see the danger of our sinful ways, and how
much it is in our best interest not to press forward. The only way to
get our of our own stubborn will is to become stubborn about God's will.
We must not think, that because God does not always restrain men from
sin that He approves of it, or that it is not hateful to Him. God
opposes sin and will at all costs try to warn us not to go there, but if
we press on He will allow us to fall into our own lusts, including the
consequences of it. The only way to avoid the consequences of sin is to
pay attention to the warning signs.
Blessed
is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall
receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that
love him. James 1:12.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through Moses who was faithful to pray to God for the people who repented. At
that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will
pray the Father for you: For the Father himself loveth you, because ye
have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
- John 16:26,27.

A Clean Body

The word defile is defined as to make foul, dirty, or unclean,
to pollute or disgrace. Out of all the sins committed, those that
defile the flesh are more detestable to God than all the rest. Why?
Besides the body being the Temple in which God dwells in all believers,
it is the only type of sin that one can sin against his own body. “Flee
fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he
that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What?
know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in
you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought
with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit,
which are God's. - I Corinthians 6:18-20.

God gave the Israelites or anyone amongst them, strict rules about
cleansing the body should it be defiled, perhaps the most enforced was
that of touching dead flesh, whether it was a dead animal or person,
they were not even to go near a grave without being cleansed.
This
is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying,
Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer
without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke: And
ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth
without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:..Then the
priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water,
and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be
unclean until the even. And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes
in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the
even. And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer,
and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept
for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of
separation: it is a purification for sin...Whosoever toucheth the dead
body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the
tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel:
because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be
unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him. - Numbers 19:2,3,7-9,13.

A dead body is a defiled body, a dead body is any body that has not
been cleansed through the blood of Christ. When a person is born,
because of sin that had been passed down through Adam, it is born
without the Spirit of God in it, while it is walking, breathing, flesh,
it is dead in spirit, making it a defiled body. When a person comes to
Jesus Christ and calls on Him to save him he gets a clean body, he
receives the Spirit of God, making him walking, breathing, living flesh,
alive with the Spirit of God in him.
But
ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of
God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is
none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin;
but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of
him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up
Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit
that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the
flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall
die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye
shall live. - Romans 8:9-13.

Thirty-eight years had come to pass since the ten spies encouraged the
people not to go into the promised land, all, but Moses, Aaron, Caleb,
and Joshua had died and now they were allowed to head back toward
Canaan. While passing through they came to Edom, it was the shortest
route to the promised land, but they had to get permission to pass
through. When refused to pass the Israelites became distraught and began
complaining that there was no water for them to drink. God gave Moses a
command to get water for them to drink, but out of anger he disobeyed
that command and because of that disobedience he forfeited his right to
enter the promised land. Not only did Moses lose that right, but Aaron
did as well.
And
the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the rod, and gather thou the
assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the
rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou
shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the
congregation and their beasts drink. And Moses took the rod from before
the LORD, as he commanded him. And Moses and Aaron gathered the
congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now,
ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? And Moses lifted up
his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came
out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. And
the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to
sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall
not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. - Numbers 20:7-12.
What was the offense that caused Moses and Aaron to forfeit their
rights to the promised land? There were several reasons, first, God
commanded Moses to speak to the rock, instead he hit the rock. Second,
he yelled at the congregation and acknowledged himself and Aaron as the
ones who would fetch water from the rock (it came from God, not the
rod). Third, both Moses and Aaron appeared to God to have had a
disbelief in Him, causing both of them to forfeit their rights to enter
the promised land. The only way anyone can enter the promised land is by
believing in and accepting God's Son, Jesus Christ as their Savior. It
is not enough to know that Christ exists, we have to believe that Jesus
Christ, is the only Son of God, that He died, was buried, and three days
later arose from the dead to give life to us. “That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved.Romans 10:9.

Defiling the body goes beyond what we think is dirty, most people
imagine it as being sexual, but defiling the body includes acts such as,
alcohol abuse, smoking, drugs, fighting, excessive eating, if it is
immoral in any way, it is offensive to God. The
closer a person gets to God the more offensive He becomes when he sins,
I am not talking about sins that are done unknowingly, we all sin
everyday unknowingly, I am talking about deliberate sin. The smallest
sin, even those committed through anger, seduction, or any other acts of
the flesh are offensive to God, especially if you have chosen to live
your life through Christ and do not fulfill your end of the bargain. You
know how an employer is always harder on the ones who are hard workers
and faithful? God is the same way, He is always a little harder on the
ones He knows can do the work. Why? Because we know better and we are
the example of Christ. Count yourself blessed to receive chastisement
from God once in a while, it is much better than the alternative. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For
the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if
it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the
gospel of God?..Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of
God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a
faithful Creator. - I Peter 4:16,17,19.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the rock that Moses struck. Jesus is our Rock, And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

King James Daily Bible Study: Fighting Against Rebels

The word rebellion is defined as an open, organized, and armed resistance to one's government or ruler,
a resistance to or defiance of any authority, control, or tradition.
Most often people who rebel against God rebel against any form of
authority. The worse thing is that they do not keep it to themselves,
they are usually obnoxious, loud, and seem to attract every other
obnoxious and loud person as well. The Bible says,
Come
now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as
scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like
crimson, they shall be as wool. If
ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if
ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth
of the LORD hath spoken it. - Isaiah 1:18-20.
While
we all have a little bit of defiance in us from time to time, there is a
big difference between acting upon ourselves and getting others
involved. Rest assure if we remain faithful to God even when rebels
tempt us we will be rewarded. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. - Colossians 3:23,24.
After
all that had gone on in the past few days you would have thought the
the Israelites would have just let things go and get back to doing what
God had commanded them, but that could not be further from the truth.
Have you ever watched a movie where a bunch of people ganged up on one
person? The leader of the pack stands back and watches as one idiot
after another thinks he will be the one to take him out, only to get a
worse beating. Well, a few men somehow talked two hundred and fifty men
to join with them and confront Moses and Aaron.
Now
Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan
and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of
Reuben, took men: And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the
children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly,
famous in the congregation, men of renown: And
they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and
said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation
are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then
lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD? And when Moses
heard it, he fell upon his face:..And the LORD spake unto Moses and
unto Aaron, saying, Separate yourselves from among this congregation,
that I may consume them in a moment. And they fell upon their faces, and
said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin,
and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation? - Numbers 16:1-4,20-22.

Moses could have let God consume every person there, but instead he
pleaded for their lives. While God is in control and will do anything He
wants, He still allows people to change His mind from time to time.
Today, Jesus stands before God and pleads with Him for every person that
comes to Him. Whosoever
therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before
my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men,
him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that
I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a
sword.- Matthew 10:32-34.

God saved the faithful, but He did not save the rebellious group, While
He wants everyone to repent and be saved He will please the rebels as
well and not save them. All the men that rebelled at who God put in
authority over the Tabernacle were swallowed by an earthquake.
And
he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the
tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of their's, lest ye be
consumed in all their sins. So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah,
Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and
stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and
their little children. And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the
LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of
mine own mind...And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking
all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them: And
the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and
all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. They, and
all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the
earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation. Numbers 16:26-33.
If rebels are going to cause the righteous to sin God will separate
them, sometimes He is subtle, but most of the time He is going to let
the whole congregation know that they are no longer welcome in His
Church. I have seen some faithful people come and go in my church, after
a while I could see that those people were not as faithful as they
appeared and understand why God removed them from the congregation. God
will not consume the entire congregation, just those who rebel and cause
others to rebel.
For
the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of
the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine,
revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think
it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot,
speaking evil of you: Who shall give account to him that is ready to
judge the quick and the dead. - I Peter 4:3-5.

God not only separates the rebels from the righteous He also rewards
those who remain faithful to Him. God reconfirmed the covenant that He
made with the Levites, they would be the ones who would do the service
of His ministry and all the rest of the tribes would give to them
accordingly.
And
the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father's house with
thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons
with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood. And thy brethren
also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with
thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but
thou and thy sons with thee shall minister before the tabernacle of
witness...And ye shall eat it in every place, ye and your households:
for it is your reward for your service in the tabernacle of the
congregation. - Numbers 18:1,2,31.

God always rewards those who diligently seek and serve Him, we do not
have to give into the rebellious instigators, God is always with us,
even if we have to live amongst them and will take care of His people.
The most important thing anyone can do to overcome those who cause us to
rebel is to put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
But
without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God
must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him. - Hebrews 11:6.

The word murmur is defined as a
continuous low indistinct sound, as of distant voices, a mumbled,
complaint, or private expression of discontent. Did you ever get around
someone who constantly murmured, no matter how blessed they were they
still had something to complain about? Maybe you are even like that or
have been in the past? Now, there are going to be times when we are
going to complain about something, but when it starts affecting everyone
else that is when we need to remind ourselves just how blessed we are.
The Bible says, For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do
all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless
and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked
and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; - Philippians 2:13-15.

The Israelites had reached the promised land, twelve men, one from each
tribe, were sent to search out the land, it was a beautiful sight,
clusters of grapes so big that two people had to carry them were amongst
this glorious land. However, when the men returned, all but two said we
can not go over, the people are great and big and will destroy us. This
caused a great disturbance with the congregation, so great that they
wanted to stone Moses and Aaron.
And
all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people
wept that night. And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses
and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God
that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this
wilderness! And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to
fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey?
were it not better for us to return into Egypt? And they said one to
another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt. Then Moses
and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the
congregation of the children of Israel...But all the congregation bade
stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the
tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel. And
the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how
long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have
shewed among them? I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit
them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they. -Numbers 14:1-5,10-12.

Murmuring not only affects our relationship with others, it affects our
relationship with God. He will bless us with so much and show us His
love with the hopes of a little bit of acknowledgment and thanksgiving,
but if all He gets is complaining He will start taking things away from
us. Be
not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that
shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh
reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit
reap life everlasting. - Galatians 6:7,8.

God was so angry with the congregation that He was about to get rid of
everyone, but Moses interceded on their behalf and pleaded with God not
to destroy them all. And
now, I beseech thee, let the power of my lord be great, according as
thou hast spoken, saying, The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy,
forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the
guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the
third and fourth generation. Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of
this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast
forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now. And the LORD said, I
have pardoned according to thy word:- Numbers 14:17-20.


The word longsuffering means enduring injury, trouble, or provocation long and patiently. God
is longsuffering, He endures our troubles and waits patiently for us to
come to Him. He really does not want to see anyone destroyed. The
Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but
that all should come to repentance. - II Peter 3:9. Jesus Christ intercedes on our behalf and pleads before God to pardon all who come to Him for repentance.

While God did pardon them, He did not allow any of the murmurers to
enter the promised land. For forty years the Israelites were to live in
the wilderness, until every one of the current generation died off, all
except Caleb and Joshua were restricted to enter the land flowing with
milk and honey.
Because
all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in
Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times,
and have not hearkened to my voice; Surely they shall not see the land
which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that
provoked me see it:..Doubtless ye shall not come into the land,
concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son
of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun. But your little ones, which ye
said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the
land which ye have despised. But as for you, your carcases, they shall
fall in this wilderness - Numbers 14:22,23,30- 32.

I was looking for a picture the other day on the internet and came
across this sign that said God loves everyone, but underneath it said
restrictions apply. The word restriction means prohibited, forbidden,
God's love is not prohibited or forbidden. Put your hand in a lions cage
and see what happens to it? God created the laws for the Israelites so
they would learn to fear Him, trust Him, and obey His Word. Rules are
not meant to restrict us, but protect us. In fact, the laws were written
specifically for the ones who deliberately break the laws, not the ones
who try to live right. But
we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this,
that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and
disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane,
for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For
whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for
menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other
thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; - I Timothy 1:8-10.

Salvation is a gift, there is no restrictions, no work needed to
receive it, you just have to believe in God and His Son. God will not
allow anyone to enter the promised land until we apply Jesus Christ to
our souls. That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation... For whosoever shall call upon
the name of the Lord shall be saved.- Romans 10:9,10,13.

Don't let murmurers get to you, when they start complaining remember
Christ is with you, He is guiding and protecting you through every area
of your life, even when you do not realize it. When you start to murmur
remember how blessed you are and how much God has done for you, even if
you have to endure chastisement from time to time. Everything we go
through in life is preparing us for a much better place, a place
promised to all who believe in His Son. “Let
not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In
my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have
told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a
place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that
where I am, there ye may be also. - John 14:1-3.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the glory of God (14:22). Who
being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person,
and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by
himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on
high: - Hebrews 1:3.

Lustful Desires

Did you ever hear the saying, Be careful what you wish for? We all
have desires that go beyond our needs and God is perfectly fine with
that. In fact, Jesus says,Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.- Mark 11:24.
God desires to fulfill the desires of His children, just
like any parent would reward their child with gifts that he desires when
obedient, God does the same for us. Now, we have to be careful that we
do not get lustful over the things we desire. To be lustful means to be so consumed with the desire that
it's all you think about. When we get to that point we will do anything
to get what we desire and that is usually when we do something really
stupid to get it. That is where the saying, Be careful what you wish
for comes into play. The Bible says, Let
no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be
tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is
tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when
lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is
finished, bringeth forth death.James 1:13-15.

It had been over two years that the Israelites were set free and
embarked on their journey to the promised land. During that time God
gave the commands and laws, had Moses and the people build the
Tabernacle, and consecrated Aaron and the rest of the Levites to serve
in His ministry. The time had come for the camp to move forward, first,
God commanded Moses to make two silver trumpets.
And
the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Make thee two trumpets of silver; of
a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the
calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps. And when
they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to
thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. ..When ye blow
an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go
forward...But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall
blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm...And if ye go to war in your
land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm
with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God,
and ye shall be saved from your enemies - Numbers 10:1-3,5,7,9.

Part of the reason a person can get caught up in lustful desires is
that they will not move forward. I have been there, I have kept myself
from moving forward by holding on to something that gave me joy and the
desire to have it return. All it did was hinder me from seeing the
blessings that I truly had waiting for me. God has so much more waiting
for us if we would just move forward and get out of the past. He is
blowing the trumpets, it is time to move forward. But
as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have
entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for
them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:
for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
- I Corinthians 2:9,10.
Another reason a person can get caught up in lustful desires is
impatience, we have no problem waiting a couple of days, weeks, or even
months, but when those months turn to years we can get a little
impatient, maybe even start complaining. After two years of eating
manna, some of the Israelites were getting tired of it and started
complaining.
And
the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children
of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? We
remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and
the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: But now our
soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before
our eyes...Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families,
every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled
greatly; Moses also was displeased. And Moses said unto the LORD,
Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not
found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this
people upon me? - Numbers 11:4-6,10,11.

The complaining Israelites could not see the blessings they had before
them, only what they left behind. The problem with one person
complaining is that it causes others, even the most faithful to start
complaining, Moses began complaining to God about their complaining. We
all complain from time to time and when that happens we have to take a
deep breath and remind ourselves just how far we have come and how
blessed we are. God's number one concern is to provide us with the
things we need, He will always provide us with the essentials first,
then comes the desires.
For
it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good
pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may

God did give into their desire and promised to provide them with food other than manna, And
say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye
shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who
shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore
the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat. Ye shall not eat one
day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days; But
even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be
loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which is
among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of
Egypt?Numbers 11:18-20.

Some of the Israelites were so lustful of their desire that when they
did receive it they became greedy and the desire overtook them. “And
there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea,
and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side,
and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp,
and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth. And the
people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day,
and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten
homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the
camp. And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was
chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the
LORD smote the people with a very great plague. - Numbers 11:31-33.

The biggest problem with receiving lustful desires is the consequences
after receiving them. Nothing good ever comes out of receiving lustful
desires. Likewise
reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto
God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your
mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield
ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield
yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your
members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have
dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace
- Romans 6:11-14.
Ever want something so bad and after you received it you realized it
was not worth the effort? God already knows what we need and gladly
gives them to us as well as the desires of our heart. The key to
receiving those desires is trusting Him and waiting for Him to give them
to us on His time. He will bless us with so much more simply by being
patient. Wherefore
seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset
us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking
unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that
was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set
down at the right hand of the throne of God.- Hebrews 12:1,2. Praise God!

You Are Valuable To God

Perhaps one of the most frustrating things as a Christian is the
constant criticism we face because we choose to follow Jesus Christ.
Family, friends, and even other Christians reject us, mock us, and make
us feel as though we have some type of plague. Jesus says, And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.- Matthew 10:22. We are going to face adversity because we chose
Christ, but we can endure all through Christ who dwells in us and is our
strength. Together we can say, I
can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me...But my God
shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ
Jesus.- Philippians 4:13,19.
Aaron and Miriam were probably the most influential people in the
camp, Aaron, a prophet, and the head of the service of God, Miriam, a
prophetess, and first
rank among the women of Israel. Both were discontent and began
complaining about Moses. God heard the complaining and called them all
out of the tabernacle.
And
Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman
whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. And
they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not
spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it. (Now the man Moses was very
meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) And the
LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come
out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three
came out. And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood
in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they
both came forth. And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet
among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and
will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is
faithful in all mine house. With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even
apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD
shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my
servant Moses?- Numbers 12:1-8.
The
marriage of Moses with a foreign woman was not prohibited, so long as
she was not of the heritage of Canaan. What Miriam was really upset
about was the fact that Moses had authority over her. She thought that
since she and Aaron were prophets that they also had a say in the
leadership of the Israelites. What she failed to realize was that God
Himself gave Moses the orders on what to do, so, when she questioned
Moses' marriage to a foreigner, God took it personally as if she was
questioning His orders. God will defend His people, Jesus said, But
whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it
were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and
that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.- Matthew 18:6.
If
you are living right by God you can expect criticism from fellow
Christians. Why? It could be several reasons, jealousy, envy, but
perhaps the number one reason why Christians knock other Christians is
due to sin in their lives. If a person is living in sin he is much more
prone to search and point out others in hopes that no one would find
theirs out. Jesus said, For
with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure
ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the
mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is
in thine own eye?Matthew 7:2,3.
God promises to always take care of and protect His faithful servants,
but fear can often get the best of us, which keeps us from letting God
bless us with what He really wants to give us. The time had come for the
Israelites to see the promised land, the land flowing with milk and
honey. God instructed Moses to send twelve men, one from each tribe, to
check it out.
And
the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they may search
the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every
tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among
them. And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the
wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of
Israel...And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.
And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the
congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to
Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation,
and shewed them the fruit of the land. And they told him, and said, We
came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with
milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. Nevertheless the people be
strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very
great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there...And Caleb
stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and
possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. But the men that went
up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they
are stronger than we.- Numbers 12:1-3,25-31.

If you have trusted in and accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, then
you are a child of God, in fact, you are a saved child of the living
God. Praise God! And because of that God wants to bless you even more
simply for the fact that you believe in His Son. Do you think that those
who live in the world do not see how bless you are? Oh, they might
criticize and mock you, but they see how much God has done for you. More
often then none we hinder ourselves from receiving those blessings
because we are afraid of what they will do to us. Jesus said, And
fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not
fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head
are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many
sparrows.- Matthew 10:28-31.

You are very valuable to God, do not be afraid, get up and dust
yourself off, God is speaking to you, one on one, He wants to assure you
that everything is going to be alright and He's got your back. Who
shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that
justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea
rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who
also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of
Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or
nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are
killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that
loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels,
nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate
us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:33-39. Praise God!

The Light

The word eternal is defined as without beginning or end, lasting forever, and always existing. God is without beginning or end, lasts forever, and always exists. The Bible says, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The
same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and
without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and
the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and
the darkness comprehended it not...That was the true Light, which
lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and
the world was made by him, and the world knew him not...And the Word was
made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as
of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.� - John 1:1-5,9,10,14. God and His Word is eternal and in the person of Jesus Christ. All three are One and even though you
can not see Him physically, when He shows up you know it. How? God
gives eternal life to every person who believes in and accepts His Son,
Jesus Christ. If Christ dwells in you, you have life in you, you shine,
you no longer walk in darkness, but in the Light that shines through
you.

God chose the Levites to be separate from the rest of the congregation
in order to serve Him in the ministry. While the Tabernacle was set up
it was to be lit up constantly. Seven lamps to be exact were to be lit
day and night and in the center was a candlestick. It
was Aaron's personal duty, as the servant of God, to light His house,
which, being without windows, provided the necessary light needed.

Speak unto Aaron and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick. And
Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the
candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses. And this work of the
candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers
thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the LORD had
shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick.? - Numbers 8:2-4.
The
candlestick itself was made out of pure, solid gold, symbolizing the
center of the Church, who is Jesus Christ. The lamps symbolize the seven
Spirits of God, which represent the Church of Christ.And
out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and
there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the
seven Spirits of God.?
- Revelation 4:5. The work of ministers is to light these lamps, by
expounding and applying the Word of God. Jesus Christ is the only Light
of our dark, sinful world and by His atonement, by his word and the Holy
Spirit, He diffuses His light through us. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither
do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick;
and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so
shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your
Father which is in heaven.? - Matthew 5:14-16.
God
builds His Church and sends forth His Spirit to dwell in it, to
sanctify and cleanse it, through the people who He dwells in to show the
world as His own workmanship. God required all who worked for Him to be
consecrated, cleansed, every Levite was to be consecrated and ready to
serve Him.
Take
the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them...For
they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead
of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the
children of Israel, have I taken them unto me. For
all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and
beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I
sanctified them for myself. And I have taken the Levites for all the
firstborn of the children of Israel. And I have given the Levites as a
gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do
the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the
congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that
there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of
Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary? - Numbers 8:6,16-19.
According to the Law, any person who touched dead flesh, animal or
human, was deemed unclean and had to distance himself from everyone for
seven days until he was cleansed. There
were certain men who were defiled by human corpses, probably in the
form of a burial, and could not eat the Passover meal on the day
appointed. So, these men approached Moses and asked why they had to be
excluded from the observance since they were doing their duty.
And
there were certain men, who were defiled by the dead body of a man,
that they could not keep the passover on that day: and they came before
Moses and before Aaron on that day: And
those men said unto him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man:
wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the
LORD in his appointed season among the children of Israel? And Moses
said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command
concerning you. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the
children of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity shall
be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet
he shall keep the passover unto the LORD. The fourteenth day of the
second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened
bread and bitter herbs. They shall leave none of it unto the morning,
nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the
passover they shall keep it.? - Numbers 9:6-12.

special day was given to allow them to observe the Passover, the
Passover lamb is symbolic and a foreshadow of Christ dying on the cross. There
were two other men along each side of Jesus when He was being
crucified, in order to hurry the crucifixion along they broke the legs
of the other two men, but when they came to Jesus they saw He had
already died and did not break His legs. Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:� - John 19:32,33. Any unclean person can go to Christ at any time to be cleansed by His blood. Forasmuch
as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver
and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your
fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without
blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the
foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave
him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.? - I Peter 1:18-21.
All
Christians, and especially ministers, should cleanse themselves from
all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear
of the Lord. The only way to cleanse ourselves is through Jesus Christ,
we need Him first, and everything else will follow as the Light works
its way through all the dark areas of our lives until we shine so bright
that we are blinding to the world. “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If
we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie,
and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the
light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus
Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin,
we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our
sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness.? - I John 1:5-9. Praise God!

Dedicate To Be Dedicated

The word dedication is defined as the act of dedicating or the state of being dedicated, complete and wholehearted devotion. If you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior you can rejoice knowing that at least once in your life you dedicated you life to Christ by asking Him to save your life. One day you will see Jesus face to face and when that time comes Christ is going to give you an instant replay of our life. He is going to show you what you did or could have done to serve God and just how dedicated you were to Him while you were living here on earth. While our works do not get us to heaven, they do count in the rewards we will receive when we get to heaven. Jesus says, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” - Matthew 6:19-21. God loves a person who is wholeheartedly devoted to Him, the amazing thing is that when we are dedicated to Him, He is dedicated to us. “Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.” - Psalm 119:2.

The Tabernacle was all set up, the people were told what they needed to do, the time had finally come for the Israelites to be able to show God how dedicated they were to Him by giving the offerings God explained. After Moses sanctified the Tabernacle the princes of each of the twelve tribes stood before the tent with their offerings.

“And it came to pass on the day that Moses had fully set up the tabernacle, and had anointed it, and sanctified it, and all the instruments thereof, both the altar and all the vessels thereof, and had anointed them, and sanctified them; That the princes of Israel, heads of the house of their fathers, who were the princes of the tribes, and were over them that were numbered, offered: And they brought their offering before the LORD, six covered wagons, and twelve oxen; a wagon for two of the princes, and for each one an ox: and they brought them before the tabernacle. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take it of them, that they may be to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; and thou shalt give them unto the Levites, to every man according to his service.” - Numbers 7:1-5.

One by one each prince brought their offerings to be presented before God. God loves a cheerful giver, He delights in seeing His people acknowledging Him and giving thanks for all that He has provided them with as well as giving Him some of what He gave back. “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” - II Corinthians 9:6-8.

Now, God knows that we are not going to be cheerful all the time, and that we are even going to be a little slothful from time to time, He accepts that, in fact, He will even tell us when we are overdoing things and need to rest. The thing we have to be careful of is saying that we are going to do something for Him and not even making an effort to do it. That is when He will have to remind us of our vow and that we are not following through. Even when we are not cheerful we can be dedicated to God, in fact, God will bless us even more for pressing forward even through the trying times in our lives. “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.” - I Peter 4:12-14.

After the princes presented their offerings Moses presented them before God on their behalf. “This was the dedication of the altar, in the day when it was anointed, by the princes of Israel: twelve chargers of silver, twelve silver bowls, twelve spoons of gold: Each charger of silver weighing an hundred and thirty shekels, each bowl seventy: all the silver vessels weighed two thousand and four hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary: The golden spoons were twelve, full of incense, weighing ten shekels apiece, after the shekel of the sanctuary: all the gold of the spoons was an hundred and twenty shekels. All the oxen for the burnt offering were twelve bullocks, the rams twelve, the lambs of the first year twelve, with their meat offering: and the kids of the goats for sin offering twelve. And all the oxen for the sacrifice of the peace offerings were twenty and four bullocks, the rams sixty, the he goats sixty, the lambs of the first year sixty. This was the dedication of the altar, after that it was anointed.” - Numbers 7:84-88.

Moses was the mediator, the middleman, who presented the offerings before God, in a sense he was like a lawyer defending his client. He stood before God, the judge, presented his case, all the evidence, and pleaded before his clients life to be saved. If the judge saw that the offering was sincere He pardoned that mans or womans life for the sake of the one pleading for it. Today, Jesus is our mediator, He presents our case before God and pleads for us, all we have to do to be pardoned is offer ourselves to Him sincerely. “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” - I Timothy 2:4-6.

God knows our hearts and whether or not we are wholeheartedly devoted to Him or really have no interest in Him beyond a prayer or two and going to church once in a while. Count it a blessing that even if you are not wholeheartedly devoted to Him Jesus wholeheartedly devoted Himself to you by giving His life for you. You only have to go before Him once and you are pardoned forever. Praise God! Even if you never do anything ever again for Him you are saved, but just imagine the blessings you will receive not only here on earth, but up in heaven when you get there simply by dedicating some time for Him. Jesus said, “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” - Revelation 22:11-14.

We will all stand before Jesus to be judged, once we meet Him face to face it is too late, we will either walk through those pearly gates or be cast into the fire. “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” - Revelation 20:12-15. There is only one way to avoid the fire and that is by asking Jesus to save you. If you have not done so, the time is now to dedicate your life to Him so He can dedicate His life to you.
Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through voluntary offerings of the leaders which were sufficient to meet the needs. Jesus offers us everything we need, including Himself. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:19.

Paid Wages Plus A Salary
The word wage is defined as earnings from work,
a price paid for work, or compensation. A person who gets paid by the
hour receives a wage or compensation per hour of work done, this amount
changes according to how many hours worked. The Bible says, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Romans 6:23.
Sin is any wrong doing in ones life, whether he
committed the sin recently or years ago, all have sinned and owe a
payment for that sin, the payment owed for even that one little sin is
death, death is the permanent end of all functions of life. We can not
work enough to pay the wages we owe for sin, therefore, Jesus came to
compensate for us.
Before Jesus came the people also had to pay wages for committing sin,
along with a sin or trespass offering one had to pay compensation to the
one they caused sin upon, if they did it upon themselves they had to
give the compensation to the priest.
Speak
unto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sin
that men commit, to do a trespass against the LORD, and that person be
guilty; Then
they shall confess their sin which they have done: and he shall
recompense his trespass with the principal thereof, and add unto it the
fifth part thereof, and give it unto him against whom he hath
trespassed. But if the man have no kinsman to recompense the trespass
unto, let the trespass be recompensed unto the LORD, even to the priest;
beside the ram of the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for
him.- Numbers 5:6-8.
Got sin in your life that you have forgotten? Still wrestling with
something that happened years ago? God forgives all, He wants you to
forgive all as well. He will tell you when you need to repent of
something from the past, He will tell you when you need to forgive
others, and He will even tell you when you need to ask others to forgive
you, even from years past. In order for us to move on and grow as a
Christian we need to seek forgiveness and be forgiving. For
if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also
forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will
your Father forgive your trespasses. - Matthew 6:14,15.
God gave special commands to those who were Nazarites, a Nazarite was a
person who vowed to separate himself or herself from the worldly
things, giving total commitment to God. Now, this does not mean that the
person would be sin free, but it would mean that they would live their
lives centered on God and do their best to avoid the temptations that
would cause them to sin.
Speak
unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or
woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate
themselves unto the LORD: He
shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no
vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any
liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. All the days of his
separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the
kernels even to the husk. All the days of the vow of his separation
there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in
the which he separateth himself unto the LORD, he shall be holy, and
shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow. All the days that he
separateth himself unto the LORD he shall come at no dead body.
- Numbers 6:2-6.
Few of us are born into a godly life and remain in it, most of us get
away from it at one point in their lives to return later in life or do
not even know Christ until later in life, Samson is a testimony of that.
The key to living a godly life is Jesus Christ and allowing Him to live
in and through us, He separates us from the world and even other
Christians who do not live their lives the way they should.
Wherefore
come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch
not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father
unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord
Almighty.- II Corinthians 6:17,18.
Now, that does not mean we are to be a
hermit, but it does mean that we should not fellowship with them, become
one with them.
When we make a vow to live our lives for God and do not follow through
we are going to face some difficulties until we get right with Him.
Be
not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that
shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh
reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit
reap life everlasting.
- Galatians 6:7,8.
The worse decision we can make is to tell God we are
going to do something and do not follow through with it. Yet, God knows
our flesh and that we are going to mess up from time to time, He also
knows our heart and whether or not we truly want Him in our lives or
not. He will bless us tremendously when we do all we can to live our
lives for Him.“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9.
God promised the Israelites that He would bless them for their obedience. And
the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons,
saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto
them, The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine
upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance
upon thee, and give thee peace. And they shall put my name upon the
children of Israel, and I will bless them. - Numbers 6:22-27.
God puts His name upon all who put their faith and trust in His Son,
Jesus Christ. Jesus not only paid the wages for our sins for us He gives
us a salary as well.
The
word salary is defined as money paid for work being done, or something
obtained or received, it's a gift. That salary is eternal (forever) life
with God in His Kingdom. A person who gets paid a salary gets
compensated one amount no matter how many hours worked. He can work 1
hour or 100, regardless he gets paid the same amount. Jesus explains it
this way, For
the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which
went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. And
when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them
into his vineyard...So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard
saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire,
beginning from the last unto the first... And when they had received it,
they murmured against the goodman of the house, Saying, These last have
wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have
borne the burden and heat of the day. But he answered one of them, and
said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a
penny? Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last,
even as unto thee. - Matthew 20:1,2,8,11- 14. It
does not matter if you were born into the godly life, left then came
back, or just got saved today you will receive the same salary. Praise
God!

are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from
their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil,
for the Son of man's sake. - Luke 6:22.

Appointed By God

A matrix is something that develops from an original state, an example
would be a master or leader that sets the example for others to follow.
God, who is master of all, set the example of all of us to follow
through Jesus Christ. Jesus Said, If
I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to
wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should
do as I have done to you. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant
is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he
that sent him.
- John 13:14-16.
God has given us all skills that enable us to do the
work He calls us to do, part of being employed by God is serving Him in
whatever duties He appoints us. Jesus, who is the Son of God, was a
servant, He followed the will of God even though He could have done
anything He wanted to do. As Christians, we too are to follow the matrix
by serving Him in the duties He calls us to do.

God has always appointed certain people to do work for Him outside the
Church, but He appoints specific people to work for Him in the Church.
God set the Levites apart from the rest of the congregation, they were
His people that would minister to the laymen and were to be the examples
to follow. The sons of Aaron were to carry on the priestly duties, but
the rest of the Levites were given specific duties for serving God in
the Tabernacle.
And
the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Bring the tribe of Levi near, and
present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.
And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation
before the tabernacle of the congregation, to do the service of the
tabernacle. And they shall keep all the instruments of the tabernacle of
the congregation, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the
service of the tabernacle. And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron
and to his sons: they are wholly given unto him out of the children of
Israel. - Numbers 3:5-9.
Today, if you are saved, you have been appointed by God to follow the
example of the Church. With that said, it is important to make sure you
are in a church that has a true man of God running it, I am talking
about a man that not only preaches the Word of God, but follows it and
serves it just as Jesus did, who is the head of the Church. This
is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a
good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife,
vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient,
not a brawler, not covetous; - I Timothy 3:1-3.
Men of God are not the only ones that are to be on their best
behavior, any servant of God is to be, God knows that we are going to
mess up from time to time, He expects that, that is why He appoints
specific people to do more for Him than others, they are His people. God
chose the Levites to be those specific people.
And
I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel
instead of all the firstborn that openeth the matrix among the children
of Israel: therefore the Levites shall be mine; Because all the
firstborn are mine; for on the day that I smote all the firstborn in the
land of Egypt I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both man
and beast: mine shall they be: I am the LORD.- Numbers 3:12,13.
There
is a service appointed to each of God's people in connection with His
Church, and no matter how obscure the duty is it is equally important to
God. Whether you are chosen to be a pastor, a pastor's wife, a choir
member, a cook, or a janitor, God appoints all of His people with
specific duties for His ministry. And he gave some, apostles; and some,
prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the
perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of
Christ: - Ephesians 4:11,12.
The word burden is defined as, that which is carried, a load.
God gave the burden, the load, of the Tabernacle and all the duties of
it to the Levites, anyone over the age of thirty was appointed to work
in the Tabernacle. The Levites were the smallest tribe of all the
congregation, yet they were appointed the most noblest task of all.
All
those that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron and the
chief of Israel numbered, after their families, and after the house of
their fathers, From thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years
old, every one that came to do the service of the ministry, and the
service of the burden in the tabernacle of the congregation. Even those
that were numbered of them, were eight thousand and five hundred and
fourscore, According to the commandment of the LORD they were numbered
by the hand of Moses, every one according to his service, and according
to his burden: thus were they numbered of him, as the LORD commanded
Moses. - Numbers 4:46-49.
As Christians, we are all appointed to carry a burden, the load of
reaching the lost, those who do not know Jesus Christ personally as
their Savior. Ministering the Gospel to the lost is the most noblest
task that God gives us and the most rewarding as well. He will bless you
tremendously for it. You do not have to do it alone, Jesus is with you.
And
Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in
heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:18-20.
One thing we all need to be aware of is when we are doing the work of
God we can expect some opposition, Satan loves to use people, things,
and circumstances to burden us, but Jesus wants to take on those burdens
for us. As long as we keep doing His work He will make our personal
burdens lighter.
Come
unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in
heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and
my burden is light. - Matthew 11:28-30. Praise God!
Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through Aaron, the high priest.
Jesus is our high priest, But
Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater
and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of
this building;Hebrews 9:11.

A Soldier For Christ
An army is defined as a military unit usually consisting of two or more
corps (bands of people) with supporting arms and services, any large
body of people united for some specific purpose. As Christians we have
been enlisted into the army, the Lord's Army. We are at war, not with
people of the world, but with religious people. A person can mention God
and pretty much all will agree that God exists, but mention Jesus
Christ and that is a different story, people have been killed for
preaching Jesus, even Jesus was killed for preaching Jesus. By who?
Religious people. The Bible says Thou
therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man
that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he
may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier...Therefore I endure
all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the
salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
- II Timothy 2:3,4,10.
Because we believe in Jesus and live our lives
for Him we are going to face a lot of criticism and rejection, but we
are soldiers for Christ, His very own elect, and the amazing thing is
that He is right there with us. He is our Captain, He is very pleased
that we have not gone AWOL on Him, and He will always lead us to victory
and even a few more souls saved.
The Book of Numbers is the forth book of the Old Testament/Bible and
contains thirty-six chapters. The author of the book is Moses and it was
originally written to the Israelites. The time line that these events
took place is approximately 1490-1451BC. The purpose of the book was to
record the forty years of the Israelites wandering in the wilderness as a
result of their disobedience to God. What we are to learn from the book
is that God is not pleased with anything less than a total commitment
to Him.
If
a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a
bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that
proceedeth out of his mouth. - Numbers 30:2.
It had been two years since God brought the Israelites out of the
bondage of Egypt, God ordered the first census among the people, every
male 20 years and older was numbered according to their tribe and
automatically drafted into the army, except for the tribe of the
Levites.
And
the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle
of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the
second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, Take
ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after
their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their
names, every male by their polls; From twenty years old and upward, all
that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number
them by their armies...Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi,
neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel: But thou
shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all
the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they shall
bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall
minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
- Numbers 1:1-3,49,50.
The Levites were not numbered because they would be the tribe that
would be in charge of the Tabernacle, no one outside of the tribe of
Levites was able to touch even one candlestick. While the other tribes
were laymen for God the Levites were the actual ministers, men of God,
to the people. Still today, God enlists some people to keep the church
in order, but most are laymen, followers, people who do not have specialized knowledge of the
church, but are nevertheless, followers of Christ. It is important that
we as soldiers of Christ do not disregard true men of God (there is a
difference) who God ordained to teach and help us learn the truth of God
rather than all the garbage these false religions try to teach us. A
true man of God will not distort the Gospel or any part of God's Word.
Remember
them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of
God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. Jesus
Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Be not carried
about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the
heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not
profited them that have been occupied therein.- Hebrews 13:7-9.
After
the tribes were numbered the tribes were given specific areas within
the camp to dwell according to the number of people in the tribe. The
tribes were to encamp about the Tabernacle, which was to be in the midst
of them. It was a token of God's gracious presence among them, yet,
they were to pitch their tents afar off, in reverence to the sanctuary,
remember, anyone other than a Levite was not allowed to touch any part
of the Tabernacle.
And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, Every
man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, with the
ensign of their father's house: far off about the tabernacle of the
congregation shall they pitch...These are those which were numbered of
the children of Israel by the house of their fathers: all those that
were numbered of the camps throughout their hosts were six hundred
thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty. But the Levites
were not numbered among the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded
Moses. And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD
commanded Moses: so they pitched by their standards, and so they set
forward, every one after their families, according to the house of their
fathers. - Numbers 2:1,2,32-34.
God
is a God of order and not confusion, therefore the camp of His
followers should be compact, knowing and keeping his God appointed place
in the world. We are soldiers for Christ, spread abroad, teaching the
Gospel to all who will listen throughout small camps all over the world.
Why? Remember our beginning verses? “Therefore
I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain
the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
- II Timothy 2:10.
We keep going, where ever God leads us to find
soldiers that are MIA so, they too will keep fighting the good fight.
Fight
the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art
also called, and hast professed a good profession before many
witnesses... That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to
distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
- I Timothy 6:12,18,19.

- John 10:14.

Removing The Blemishes

The word blemish is defined as an imperfection, defect, mark, or flaw,
a stain, or something tarnished. Even a tiny blemish can ruin something
beautiful. Sin is a blemish, a mark that can leave a pretty good stain
on a person, even if it is tiny. Quite often when asked the question,
“Do you admit you are a sinner?” the reply is, “Well, I can not say that
I am a sinner, I am a good person, I try to always do the right thing.”
The truth is no matter how good we try to be, we have all sinned. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
- Romans 3:23. Whether it was today, yesterday, or forty years ago, we
all have blemishes from sin, even the tiniest of blemishes constitutes
as being a sinner. There is only one person that has never sinned and
that is Jesus Christ. How? He is God in the flesh, He is perfect. He was
not born into the world like you and I, He chose to enter it as a baby.
Remember, Jesus, who is God and the Word, was here before the earth was
even thought of. “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” - I John 5:7.

Why do I need to know this? Because Jesus Christ gave us a way out of
the endless animal sacrifices and ceremonies needed to remove the
blemishes for good. “Neither
by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in
once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For
if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer
sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How
much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit
offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead
works to serve the living God?”
- Hebrews 9:12-14. Although we should, being good has nothing to do
with being redeemed, only by believing in and personally asking Jesus to
save you are you redeemed, and we need to only ask Him once. Praise
God!

Aaron
and his sons were commanded to keep away from the holy gifts of the
children of Israel, which were consecrated (cleansed) for God, that they
might not profane the holy name of God by defiling them with any
blemishes that they may have encountered.

“Speak
unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy
things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy
name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am the LORD. Say
unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations,
that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow
unto the LORD, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut
off from my presence: I am the LORD...Or whosoever toucheth any creeping
thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take
uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath; The soul which hath touched
any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy
things, unless he wash his flesh with water. And when the sun is down,
he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because
it is his food.”- Leviticus 22:2,3,5-7.

This should be a reminder to all of us that we need to ask God to
bless the food that He has blessed us with before we eat it. I love to
cook and when I do I have a habit of tasting the food as I go to make
sure it is seasoned well, more often than I realize I forget to ask God
to bless that taste test. We need to give God thanks for even the
tiniest of blessings, it shows Him that we really are thankful for even
the little things. “Let
your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful
for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of
God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:5-7.

It was not uncommon for the Israelites to have feasts to the Lord in
honor of thanksgiving. In fact, God commanded it, now, they were not
forced to participate, but whoever chose to participate needed to do it
wholeheartedly. God even invited the strangers to participate, but all
had to do it of their own free will.

“Speak
unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and
say unto them, Whatsoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the
strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and
for all his freewill offerings, which they will offer unto the LORD for a
burnt offering; Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish,
of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats. But whatsoever hath a
blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for
you. And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD
to accomplish his vow, or a freewill offering in beeves or sheep, it
shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.
Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye
shall not offer these unto the LORD, nor make an offering by fire of
them upon the altar unto the LORD.” - Leviticus 22:18-22.

When offering an offering they had to do it willingly and the offering
had to be without any blemishes, this is a way of God saying, “If you
are going to choose to follow me then give yourself to me
wholeheartedly.” I heard someone once say that following God is not of
our own free will, that is just absurd, God will not force anyone to do
anything. God truly does love everyone He created, but He will never
force Himself upon you. Have you ever been madly in love with someone
yet they wanted nothing to do with you? You tried everything to get that
person to see how much you love them, but the more you tried the
further they got? Well, that is how God feels when He tries to show us
His love and we reject Him. So, instead of getting hurt He backs off and
lets the person come willingly, leaving subtle hints along the way. “The
Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but
that all should come to repentance.” - II Peter 3:9.

There is nothing like a feast to bring people together, whether it is
for fellowship, celebration, or mourning, food is a big part of any
gathering. The Feasts of the Lord were observed as reminders of the
freedom, gifts, and miracles that God had given to the Israelites as He
protected, provided, and fulfilled His promises to them. These were not
ordinary feasts, they were sabbath days used to atone and reflect on the
freedom, provisions, and hope that only God could give.

“Speak
unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts
of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these
are my feasts. Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the
sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is
the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings. These are the feasts of
the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their
seasons.” - Leviticus 23:2-4.

Today,
we no longer have to observe these feasts with all the sacrifices or
the Sabbath, in fact, we have new feasts to observes as well, but we
should not wait until these holy days come around before we go to God
with all of our sins, and remember that Jesus Christ removed all the
blemishes of sin in our lives. “And
he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them,
saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance
of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.” - Luke 22:19,20.

Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the seven great Feasts of the Lord. “For
if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his
Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And
not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by
whom we have now received the atonement.” - Romans 5:10,11.

Totally Devoted To God

The Bible says, In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by
him; and without him was not any thing made that was made...And the Word
was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory
as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
- John 1:1-3,14.
Before God made anything here on earth and before
people made anything from the things that God made God's Word existed.
If we never had the Bible to read, God's Word would still be in
existence, The Word is God Himself and He made His Word become flesh,
through Jesus Christ. So, how did people know that God existed when they
did not have the Bible? That is where the Israelites came in. I do not
know why God chose Israel to represent Him, but He had to chose one
nation to represent Him first. Why? To show the rest of the world that
there is a big difference between being a creation of God and being one
of His very own people. It was important that God separate one nation to
show the rest that God is not just something they made up, but a living
God that truly exists, dwells among, and blesses those who realize
that.

Many people read through these books and wonder why God was so cruel
to kill a person over something that seemed like nothing. Well, it is
nothing to God, it shows rebellion, not separation. God was adamant
about the Israelites being separated from the worldly people. Why? It
causes confusion and it really does cause people to live a pretty wicked
life. God had to put fear in them to keep them from falling into the
corruption that would be dwelling among them.
Speak
unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them,
Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy. Ye shall fear every
man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am the LORD your
God. Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am
the LORD your God. And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto
the LORD, ye shall offer it at your own will...Regard not them that have
familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I
am the LORD your God. Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and
honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD. And if a
stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the
stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you,
and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land
of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. - Leviticus 19:2-5, 31-34.
God is holy, meaning He is divine, faultless, good, perfect, and
uncorrupted, His people are to be the same way. He does not force anyone
to follow Him, but if they chose to He expects total devotion. The
amazing thing here is that God did not just enforce these laws on the
Israelites, but any foreigner that dwelt among them, in fact, if they
were devoted to Him, they were no longer strangers, but adopted into the
family. Anyone who believes in Jesus Christ and accepts Him into their
lives is adopted into God's family.
But
if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you,
he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal
bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you...For as many as are led by
the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received
the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of
adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth
witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if
children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so
be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.- Romans
8:11,14-17.
Notice
the caution against having anything to do with spiritism, we know them
today as astrologers, physics, and spiritual healers. Spiritism is
spiritual adultery, giving honor to the devil which is due to God. We
are to never seek them or receive advice from them, it is an abomination
to God. God addresses this issue even further.
Again,
thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the
children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that
giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the
people of the land shall stone him with stones. And
I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among
his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my
sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. And if the people of the land do
any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto
Molech, and kill him not: Then I will set my face against that man, and
against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring
after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people...But
I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it
unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I am
the LORD your God, which have separated you from other people. Ye shall
therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between
unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by
beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the
ground, which I have separated from you as unclean. And ye shall be
holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other
people, that ye should be mine. A man also or woman that hath a familiar
spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall
stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them. - Leviticus
20:2-5,24-27.
The key word here is separation, if we are going to be totally devoted
to God we need to be separated from anything that the world has to
offer.
Molech
was a bronze statue with a head of a calf or bull, and the base of a
man and it was hollow. When a fire was built at the base, the fire would
spew out its eyes, nose and mouth. Molech stood with outstretched
hands, beckoning followers to come and the people would give their
children to this statue as a sacrifice. God was commanding the
Israelite's to stay away from this practice or they too would be put to
death. Today, many of these gruesome practices still take place, while
God may test our faith He will never cause us or anyone to become a
human sacrifice, why do you think He used animals. God sent one person
to become a human sacrifice in order to save His people from hell and
that was Himself, through Jesus Christ. God gave Himself for us, He want
us to be a living sacrifice not a dead one.
I
beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is
your reasonable service. And
be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing
of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and
perfect, will of God. - Romans 12:1,2.
As Christians we must set the example and abstain from any conduct
that may influence others to be less than their best for Christ. We are
children of God placed in a nation full of heathens and God is preparing
us for the promised land. Although, Praise God, we can not get be put
to death for doing some of the things we know are wrong today, we are to
still think about what we are doing and make sure everything we do
keeps us holy before God and shows Him that we are totally devoted to
Him. Of course, God knows we are going to mess up from time to time, but
God knows our heart, whether we are totally devoted to Him. “And
I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of
God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his
people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God
shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more
death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away. - Revelation 21:3,4.

contrast to evil guidance. Howbeit
when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all
truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear,
that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. - John 16:13.

The Power Of Things Unseen

Have you ever stopped to think about how powerful things are that you
can not see? For instance, the wind, you can not see it coming, but when
it does, you can sure feel it, it can be quite pleasant or it can be
quite dangerous. How about electricity? You can not see it, it's
everywhere and very powerful, it is quite pleasant to be able to turn on
a light switch, but touch a live, bare wire and it can be quite
dangerous. The same thing is true with God, you can not see Him, but
when He is around you know it, and it can be a pleasant or dangerous
experience. The Bible says, Forwhom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons;
for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?.. Now no chastening
for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless
afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them
which are exercised thereby...Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which
cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably
with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire. - Hebrews 12:6,7,11,28, 29.

In the past nine chapters we have learned that, through Moses, God had
explained the purpose of all the sacrificial/ meat offerings and
instructed the priests on the specific manner in which they were to
accept and handle the offerings for themselves as well as the people.
The time had come to put action to the words, in order for the priest to
begin receiving the offerings they first had to be cleansed. God
commanded that Moses bring Aaron, his sons, and all the elders (heads of
the twelve tribes) to witness this event.

And
he said unto Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin offering, and a
ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the
LORD. And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a
kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of the
first year, without blemish, for a burnt offering; Also a bullock and a
ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meat
offering mingled with oil: for to day the LORD will appear unto you. And
they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the
congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the
LORD. And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye
should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you. - Leviticus 9:2-6.

God knew that if Moses just told the people that they were to start
giving their sacrifices to Aaron or his sons that no one would believe
him, so, He made sure that the elders saw this phenomenon. Did you
notice that Aaron had to use a calf was added for a sin offering?
Remember when he made the golden calf for the people who were
complaining about Moses being gone so long? Aaron was to daily offer a
calf in remembrance of that he rendered himself for ever unworthy of the
honor of the priesthood, on which he had reason to reflect with sorrow
and shame, through the atonement he made. This is a reminder that even
though we are forgiven we still have to face the repercussions of those
sins, especially if it caused others to sin.
Rejoiceth
not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things,
believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. I Corinthians 13:6,7.
After the sacrifices were made, the glory of God appeared in the sight of the people, proving that God is a consuming fire.
And
Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came
down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and
peace offerings. And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the
congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the
LORD appeared unto all the people. And there came a fire out from
before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the
fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their
faces. - Leviticus 9:22-24.
These
many sacrifices, which were all done away by the death, burial, and
resurrection of Christ, they teach us that our best services need a
washing in His blood, and that the guilt of our best sacrifices needs to
be done away by one more purer and more nobler than we could ever do.
Let us be thankful that we have such a High Priest. But
Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater
and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of
this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own
blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal
redemption for us.- Hebrews 9:11,12.
You know, sometimes we can get so hyped up about doing things for God
that we do not pay attention to what we are doing for Him. Of course,
God loves a cheerful and eager servant, but we need to be careful of
what we do and allow ourselves to get caught up in. This proved to be
the case as we read about two of Aaron's sons, Nadab and Abihu. Nadab,
and Abihu were eager to show their love for God, but they failed to
listen to what they were to offer up to God. And
Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and
put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire
before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire
from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. Then
Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be
sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will
be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.� -Leviticus 10:1-3.

There are two kinds of fire, the eternal fire that comes from God and
the eternal fire that comes from Satan. Satan's fire is like adding fuel
to a fire, it's combustible, Nadab, and Abihu erred in offering Satan's
fire before God. The sin and punishment of these priests showed the
imperfection of the priesthood from the very beginning, and that it
could not shelter any from the fire of God's wrath. Though Aaron's heart
must have been filled with anguish and dismay, he spoke not a word to
the justice served by God. We all have to be careful not to offer
strange fire before God. These
are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding
themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of
winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked
up by the roots; Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame;
wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for
ever... These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts;
and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in
admiration because of advantage... Keep yourselves in the love of God,
looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. - Jude 1:12,13,16,21.
The priests were not allowed one day's rest from serving God. While
they were working they had to remain in the tabernacle. Why? It kept
them separated from the corruptible dangers of the outside. And
ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation, lest ye die: for the anointing oil of the LORD is upon
you. And they did according to the word of Moses. And the LORD spake
unto Aaron, saying, Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy
sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest
ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: And
that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean
and clean; And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the
statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
- Leviticus 10:7-11.
God's spiritual priests are constantly at work,
which the duty of every day requires, they are like an on call
physician, always there to minister to those in need.
Today, all who have chosen to serve God are spiritual priests and are
to remain ready to serve Him when needed. Now, this does not mean that
you can not enjoy life, it just means that you will always be on call,
even on vacation, so, you better be doing things morally as you are
God's tabernacle. When Jesus and His disciples were picking corn to eat
on the Sabbath, He said, What man shall there be among you,
that shall have one sheep, and if it fall
into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it
out? How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful
to do well on the sabbath days.
-Matthew 12:11,12. Even Jesus ministered to people on His day of rest,
since we are to be like Christ, we too may have to minister to someone
on our day of rest.
Jesus Christ Revealed:
Today Jesus is revealed through the lamb sacrifice (9:3). Jesus is the
lamb who became the sin offering for all who accept Him. “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. - John 1:29.

Being A Living Sacrifice

As Christians we are to be the example that the world sees as a true child of God.
The Bible says,
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is
your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that
good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God...So we, being many, are
one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
- Romans 12:1,2,5. If we do not separate ourselves from the worldly
things the people of the world will never understand why it is so
important for them to receive Christ into their lives. The only way to
be separated from the world is to offer yourself as a living sacrifice.
The Book of Leviticus is the third book of the Old Testament/Bible and
contains twenty-seven chapters, the time line for these events were
approximately 1490 B.C. This is a continuation of Exodus and Numbers,
the author of the book is Moses and it was written to the people of
Israel. This book was a manual of worship for Israel, it was provided to
give them instructions on how a sinner could fellowship with God. The
purpose of the book was to show Israel how to live as a holy nation in
fellowship with God and to prepare them to extend God's plan of
redemption to all nations. What we are to learn from the book is that
God only redeems and fellowships with us if we go to Him willingly. If
his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male
without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door
of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD. - Leviticus 1:3
The first three chapters of the Book of Leviticus explain the offerings
that the people were to bring to God in order to be able to fellowship
with Him, the offerings were actually voluntary and set according to a
persons wealth, if one was not able to afford cattle to offer as a
sacrifice, God allowed what they could afford. He gave every person the
opportunity to be redeemed from their sins, regardless of their
financial status.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but
that all should come to repentance. - II Peter 3:9.
The sin offering was to be of animal flesh, it had to be a male under a
year old without one spot on it, the person had to offer the offering
willingly as a payment for sin. Once he brought the offering he had to
place his hand upon the sacrifice and offer it in place of himself. Once
the offering was accepted, he had to kill the animal and hand it over
to the priests where they would clean it up and place it upon the altar
to be a burnt offering unto God.
Speak
unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring
an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle,
even of the herd, and of the flock. If his offering be a burnt sacrifice
of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of
his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation before the LORD. And he shall put his hand upon the head of
the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement
for him. And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the priests,
Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about
upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation. - Leviticus 1:2-5.
We can all praise God that we no longer have to do this to be forgiven
of our sins. Jesus Christ took the place of the animal by giving Himself
as an offering. God will forgive anyone who comes to Him through His
Son, but he must come to Him of his own free will. For
God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the
world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not
condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he
hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. - John 3:17,18.
The meat offering was not the flesh of an animal it was vegetables,
flat bread, or crackers, baked or fried in olive oil and spices, this
was the only offering offered that was able to enter the tabernacle. It
was offered to God as a way to show thanks for the atonement as well as
all that God had given them. It represents presenting the body as a
living sacrifice.
And
when any will offer a meat offering unto the LORD, his offering shall
be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense
thereon: And he shall bring it to Aaron's sons the priests: and he shall
take thereout his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof,
with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the
memorial of it upon the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a
sweet savour unto the LORD: And the remnant of the meat offering shall
be Aaron's and his sons': it is a thing most holy of the offerings of
the LORD made by fire. And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering
baken in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled
with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil...And if thy oblation
be a meat offering baken in the fryingpan, it shall be made of fine
flour with oil...As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer
them unto the LORD: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet
savour. And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with
salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to
be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt
offer salt. And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto
the LORD, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits
green ears of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears. -
Leviticus 2:1-4,7,12-14.
Everything that was presented to God had to be salted with fresh salt, salt is used
as for seasoning and preserving food,
it brings life and flavor to a meal, it also is necessary for our
bodies, and has many cures. As Christians we are the salt of the earth, a group of
people regarded as the finest of our kind. Since we are the salt of the earth we
have to be careful not to become stale. Ye
are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour,
wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to
be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men...Whosoever therefore
shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he
shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall
do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of
heaven. - Matthew 5:13,19.
The peace offering was to be if animal flesh, it could be a male or
female, but it had to be spotless. This was an offering given after the
sin offering and meat offering for one to be able to communicate and
fellowship with God.
And
if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offer it of the
herd; whether it be a male or female, he shall offer it without blemish
before the LORD. And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his
offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:
and Aaron's sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar
round about. And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering
an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the
inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards, And the two kidneys,
and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above
the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away...And the priest
shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by
fire for a sweet savour: all the fat is the LORD's. It shall be a
perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings,
that ye eat neither fat nor blood - Leviticus 3:1-4,16,17.
The word oblation means to offer it willingly, today, the same rules
apply, we still need to seek forgiveness for our sins, we still need to
offer ourselves as a living sacrifice, and we still need to do both to
be able to communicate and fellowship with God. The only difference is
that Jesus paid the price for our sins permanently, that is if we call
on Him to save us. Without Jesus we can not male that payment and
receive atonement for our sins. It is only by grace that we are saved,
not by how much we do for God.
For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is
the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. - Ephesians 2:8,9.
Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the Meat offering, which
was made without leaven, a symbol of sin. “Purge
out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are
unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: - I Corinthians
5:7.

Your Reward Has Come



The word labor is defined as productive activity, physical or mental work, working for wages.
How many of us can actually say that we are getting paid the wages we
deserve for the activity we produce? Some may say, “I do not get paid
enough�, some may say “I have a great paying job�, but what most will
not say is,� I am getting paid too much.�The Bible says, “Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For
we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are
God's building...Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day
shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire
shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide
which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's
work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be
saved; yet so as by fire.�
- I Corinthians 3:8,9,13-15. The fire is God, the wages we earn come
from God, the more we labor in God's will the more we receive. Sometimes
we are paid too much and suffer a loss because we simply stop doing the
labor, sometimes God tests us by not paying us enough to see if we will
remain faithful to our job. When you least expect it God will say, “You
reward has come�.



God instructed Moses on how He wanted His dwelling place to be built,
people willingly gave items and helped construct the pieces, they did
the labor necessary to complete the tabernacle exactly to God's
specifications. Moses built the altar of burnt offering.



“And
he made the horns thereof on the four corners of it; the horns thereof
were of the same: and he overlaid it with brass. And he made all the
vessels of the altar, the pots, and the shovels, and the basons, and the
fleshhooks, and the firepans: all the vessels thereof made he of brass.
And he made for the altar a brasen grate of network under the compass
thereof beneath unto the midst of it.� - Exodus 38:2-4.



The altar of burnt offering was a foreshadow of Christ, every piece
represents Christ offering Himself as the sacrifice that would put an
end to need for sacrificing animals. “For
the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image
of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year
by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect...For it is not
possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and
offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:� - Hebrews 10:1,4,5.



The
workmen took great care to make all according to God’s will, God
delights in sincere obedience and keeps exact account of it. Now, came
the time for the ephods to be built, the garments that the priests would
wear when doing service for God.



“And
of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to
do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as
the LORD commanded Moses. And
he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine
twined linen. And they did beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it
into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the
scarlet, and in the fine linen, with cunning work...The cloths of
service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron
the priest, and his sons' garments, to minister in the priest's office. � - Exodus 39:1-3,41.



Before the priests were even able to minister to people they had to be cleansed and apply these garments on them. Those
that wear robes of honor must look upon them as clothes of service, for
those whom such a honor is given, from them service is expected. Holy
garments were not made for men to sleep in, but to do service in, and
then they are indeed for glory and beauty. These also foreshadowed
Christ. “And
he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new
garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and
the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old.�
- Luke 5:36. All believers are spiritual priests, they are cleansed,
and their holy, priestly garments are applied to them. All who converse
with you should be able to see that you are properly clothed as God’s
representatives.



Finally, the tabernacle is complete, all the people gather around to see the amazing place they built for God. “According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work. And
Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the
LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.� - Exodus 39:42,43.



God never lets our labor go unnoticed, He always rewards us for the
things that we do for Him, He may makes us wait a while, but He never
goes back on His promises. “But
without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God
must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him.� - Hebrews 11:6.



There is one things that we can never do enough work for and that is
our salvation. We have all come short of that glory, even the tiniest
little white lie is sin to God. God despises sin and because of that no
amount of work can be done to pay for the wages of sin.�For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.� - Romans 3:23.



Jesus is the only one who can pay the wages of sin for us, He paid for it by giving His life for us. “For
by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is
the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.� - Ephesians 2:8,9.



Now,
once you get saved, that is when your labor counts and your rewards
come, your first as far most greatest reward is eternal life and the
Kingdom of God in heaven, but your blessings here on earth come as we do
the things we do in God's will. We can still have the things we have in
God's will, in fact, He gives us better things. “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.� - Psalm 37:3,4. Praise God!



Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the altar of burnt offering. “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.� - Hebrews 10:10.

Dedicated to Christ



The second a person calls on Jesus Christ to save them, they are
cleansed from all the sin that they ever done. That simple acceptance of
Jesus keeps you not only from going to hell, it removes all the guilt,
pain, and suffering that you went through over your sins before you got
saved. Praise God! The Bible says, “Having
therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of
Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us,
through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest
over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full
assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience,
and our bodies washed with pure water.� - Hebrews 10:19-22. The word consecrate is defined as to make or declare sacred, to set apart or dedicate oneself to God, to bless, and to sanctify.



God
instructed Moses to teach Aaron and his sons how they were to be
consecrated before they could enter the tabernacle. Daily they were to
consecrate themselves before they were even allowed to enter the
tabernacle.



“And
this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to
minister unto me in the priest's office: Take one young bullock, and two
rams without blemish, And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened
tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten
flour shalt thou make them. And thou shalt put them into one basket, and
bring them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams. And Aaron
and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation, and shalt wash them with water. And thou shalt take the
garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and
the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of
the ephod:..And thou shalt gird them with girdles, Aaron and his sons,
and put the bonnets on them: and the priest's office shall be theirs for
a perpetual statute: and thou shalt consecrate Aaron and his sons. And
thou shalt cause a bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of the
congregation: and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head
of the bullock. And thou shalt kill the bullock before the LORD, by the
door of the tabernacle of the congregation.� - Exodus 29:1-5,9-11.



Can you imagine doing this daily to stand before God? And not everyone
was able to stand before God, only the priests. The job of the priest
was not to confess your sins to him, it was to present the offering
before God. He was the intercessor to God, the negotiator on the sinners
behalf. Today, Jesus Christ is our negotiator and we no longer have to
go through such preparation to meet with God. “Who
is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is
risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh
intercession for us.� - Romans 8:34. Now, we do have to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior before we can meet with God. “By
so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. And they truly
were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason
of death: But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable
priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost
that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession
for them.� - Hebrews 7:22-25.



The priests were to also offer daily two lambs, one in the morning and
one in the evening. These offerings were to be a continual fire burning,
day and night, never to go out.



“Now
this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the
first year day by day continually. The one lamb thou shalt offer in the
morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even: And with the one
lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of
beaten oil; and the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering.
And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto
according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the
drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire
unto the LORD. This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your
generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the
LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.� - Exodus 29:38-42.



We are to never let the fire die out for God, it is important to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice day and night. When we keep the fire burning for God something amazing happens, we send up a sweet savor to God. Now,
that does not mean that you are to sit in a corner and read your pray
and Bible all day long, although that would be a good thing to do once
in a while, but what it does mean is that we are to keep in on our
hearts all day long. “But
his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate
day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of
water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall
not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.� - Psalm 1:2,3.



Moses
was also instructed to make a perfume, a perfume that would be used to
communicate with God, no one was even allowed to create something that
would resemble this perfume.



“And
thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the
apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy: And thou shalt beat some
of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle
of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you
most holy. And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not
make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be
unto thee holy for the LORD. Whosoever shall make like unto that, to
smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.� - Exodus 30:35-38.



Today, the perfume we give off is the blood that we applied to our souls when we accepted Christ as our Savior.
However, if
you do not know Christ, any effort you make toward God is just as the
imposter perfume, He will cast anyone away who does not know His Son. “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He
that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath
not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name
of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that
ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.� - I John 5:11-13.



Are you dedicated to Christ? What an amazing life becomes of those who
are dedicated to Him. If you have fallen away from Him, fear not, He is
still with you, He is just waiting for you to relight the fire. If you
are not saved, the time is now, Jesus is calling you and promises to
never leave you. “Who
shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or
sword?..For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels,
nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate
us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.� -Romans 8:35,38,39.



Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the Laver (30:18) which held the water to cleanse the priests. “But
if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one
with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from
all sin.� - I John 1:7.

The Holy or Most Holy Place

The Bible says,
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present
your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is
your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that
good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.- Romans 12:1,2.
The word holy is defined as being sacred or blessed, belonging to, deriving from, or associated with God.
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior then you are holy,
blessed, and associated with God. Praise God! We are blessed in that all
we have to do to be associated with God is simply ask His Son, to save
us. That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saved. - Romans 10:9. Praise God!
Before Jesus came the people needed a place to be able to reach God,
So, He instructed Moses to build a tabernacle. Everything from the wood,
to the curtains, to the spoons were given specific details on how tobe
made and contructed. When everything is set up God would dwell above the
mercy seat, a vail separated the holy place from the most holy place,
where the mercy seat would be placed.
And
thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine
twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:..And thou
shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in
thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall
divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy. And thou shalt
put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy
place. Exodus 26:31,33,34.
Not Moses or anyone else could see God face to face, as far as they
could ever get was standing in the holy place. They or anyone else would
never step foot into the most holy place. However, when Jesus came, He
made a way to take down the vail. “And
not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of
Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail
untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done
away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is
upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail
shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit
of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding
as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image
from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.- II Corinthians 3:13-18.
The vail is taken away when we allow Christ
to live in us through the Spirit of the Lord, or Holy Ghost. When we
accept Christ as our Savior the Holy Spirit dwells in us. In other
words, we are the mercy seat God dwells upon.
God appointed Aaron and his sons, who were Levites, to be priests,
Aaron would be the high priest, the one who got the closest to God. He
would minister to the people and be the mediator, the one who would
speak to God on their behalf. Before Aaron was able step foot in the
holy place he had to wear special garments.
And
take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from
among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the
priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar,
Aaron's sons. And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother
for glory and for beauty. And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise
hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may
make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in
the priest's office.. And it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and his
sound shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the
LORD, and when he cometh out, that he die not. And thou shalt make a
plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet,
HOLINESS TO THE LORD...And it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, that Aaron
may bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel
shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his
forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD...And they shall be
upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they come in unto the tabernacle of
the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to minister in
the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall be a
statute for ever unto him and his seed after him.- Exodus 28:1-3,35,36, 38,43.
Today, we have only one mediator to God,
For
there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ
Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.-
I Timothy2:5,6.
Before we can even speak to God we need to put on
Christ, who is the special garment we need to even get to the holy
place. Wherefore
take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand
in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having
your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of
righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of
peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able
to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of
salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: - Ephesians 6:13-17.
Now, you can be in the holy place, which is doing just enough to get
your foot in the door to heaven, where no one even notices that Christ
is in you. Or you can be in the most holy place, which is what happens
when you allow Christ to truly live in you. When you allow Christ to
live in you you become a new person, all of the sinful things you use to
think you could not live without are slowly replaced with godly things.
Wherefore
henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known
Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are
passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of
God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given
to us the ministry of reconciliation;- II Corinthians 5:16-18. Praise God!
Did you know that Christ has chosen you? He chose you to be a part of His life, well before God even created the earth.
According
as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we
should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having
predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to
himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of
the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.-Ephesians 1:4-6.
Isn't that amazing? When you are in the most holy
place you become blessed beyond measure, if you truly want God's
blessings here on earth, listen to Him, He is talking to you.
Jesus Christ Revealed: Today Jesus is revealed through the Brasen Altar, by which the sin offerings would be placed (27:1- . Jesus became the final sacrifice that would give an atonement for all who believe in Him.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his
Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And
not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by
whom we have now received the atonement. - Romans 5:10,11.
