Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Colossians 3:12-14

What a lesson learning to clothe yourself with compassion, kindness,humility, gentleness, and patience. I learned over the years that if we ask the Lord for patience, He will give it to us. Some things will come into your life that will make you gain patience. Waiting, is hard but when we ask we shall get what we ask for if we believe.
When I first became saved these scripture's stayed in my thoughts as well as others did. Learning is very important to me, specially learning how to apply God's Word to my daily life. When my husband lost his job and we lost our home and car, patience was what we needed to know that the Lord has not forsaken us, sometimes there is a lesson in things that we lose or gain. God can give and God can take away. If we are not using the gifts we get for holy reasons maybe God see's that it isn't important for these things to stay in our lives. He said He would give us what we need to live, maybe not very glamorous things but maybe just what we need to get by. All things of this world will pass away. We can't take it with us. I think maybe we we're not doing what we we're suppose to do when hubby lost his job and we lost our car and home, maybe we were not grateful, but maybe we had to suffer our own consequences and hubby got tired of working 80 hours a week..But, God has blessed us double since then, oh I don't drive a new car, or live in a big big house, I drive a 1975 nova..compared to the 2005 ford focus I use to drive. The double blessing I'm talking about is that I know what its like to have plenty and I know what its like to have little. God has blessed me with more knowledge of Him, not in material things. I eat, I have shelter, I have a car, I have enough to pay bills..I have the LORD which is more important.
At the time of all the loss we all really had to bear with one another and it's hard at times but we did. We had to move in with my oldest daughter and we did not get along with our son in law, and we needed this patience to get by. God says we can love him with His love. Bearing with one another seems harder each day I live, but by God's grace I can do what God says I can do, through Jesus Christ my Lord.
Over the last 2 1/2 years I have had one of my lungs collapse and have had three surgerys. I have learned to hold onto God in all circumstances. .For when I am weak He is strong. So many trials and storms have come our way, problems with finances, with family. All kinds of things that never seem to pass..but I always keep in my head and heart, that all things will come to pass. Right now we are fighting for our youngest grandson, fighting with his mother to get him back into her care and her arms. Of course she was led astray and still seems to have trouble in her heart, but as her mother and a child of the most high, I feel God will lead her back to him someday, and my son to of course.
Also kindness to others is a must, alot of times I get irritated with things, I am a caregiver also. I have my 70 year old mother living with me, who has alztimiers(if I spelled that wrong,sorry) and there have been so many trials in that, I also helped take care of her mother back when I was a early teen and as a late teen I helped with my dad who passed on with cancer, he died holding my hand. Oh how life can take a toll, not bragging here, these trials I could of did without in my eyes but the Lord seemed to think other wise. Kindness, can we be kind to the unkind? We can but only by His grace. I'm a sinner and I'm saved by GOD's amazing Grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. So let's be kind, let's have patience, let's be humble, oh I could go on and on, and write a book, which I have several, and in the times of trials and storms my books are not selling good, but in God's time they will. Even so, I'm here to show God's love and to share all that goes on, to bring Him Glory. Praise HIM with me and lets first seek the Kingdom Of God, and all these other things will be added unto us.
