Exodus 12:2-3 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lam...b, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
This past Monday marked the beginning of Pesach (Passover) on the Hebrew calendar as it was the 10th of Nisan and also the day that Yeshua (Jesus) would have entered Jerusalem 2000 years ago. Every 10th of Nisan, four days before Pesach, the children of Israel would choose a lamb for the Passover sacrifice. Each man would take a lamb for his household. Four days were required to inspect the animal to make sure it was perfect and without blemish.
Can you imagine having a lamb at home for four days -- the children feeding it, petting it, perhaps even naming it -- only to know that it would have to die soon?
We also have a Lamb to choose today. Yeshua (Jesus), our perfect Passover Lamb who is without blemish. Some of us reading this today have already chosen Him. Some may have forgotten of our choice, others may be undecided.
As the scripture says, today is the day of salvation; those who have chosen Yeshua remember His great work of atonement which brought us out of bondage from sin. This was a supernatural deliverance just as it was for the children of Israel when they came out of Egypt. The Passover lamb, brought into the houses of the Israelites, became dear to them because of its precious innocence and because its death invoked the memory of the first Passover when the lamb's blood literally saved their lives from the Angel of Death. Our perfect Lamb, so dear to us, will do the same for all who receive Him; since the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. Amen, and chag sameach. (Happy Holiday).
The Anniversary Date of the Death of Jesus is April 6, 2012 at 3 PM:
A Time to Remember.
Jesus died on Nisan 14 which is when God decreed the Passover Lamb selected on Nisan 10 was to be killed. He presented Himself as the Passover Lamb on Nisan 10. (John 12) It was on the weekly Saturday Sabbath in 30 AD not Palm Sunday. It was on March 30, 30 AD. There is never a time on the Hebrew/Gregorian... Calendar when Nisan 10 (when Jesus presented Himself as the Passover Lamb in Jerusalem) or Nisan 17 (when He was resurrected from His death) can be on Sunday.
As stated, Jesus died at 3 PM on Wednesday, Nisan 14 in 30 AD. It was after 3 hours of darkness had covered the land during the 3 hours before the Annual High Sabbath, the evening of Nisan 14 that begins the first day of Passover on Nisan 15. It was not on Friday the day before the weekly Saturday Sabbath.
First Fruits is on Nisan 16, the morning after the Annual High Sabbath of Nisan 15. First Fruits is not on Sunday after the weekly Saturday Sabbath and is not on Nisan 17.
As stated, Jesus presented Himself as the Passover Lamb on Nisan 10, March 30, 30 AD on the weekly Saturday Sabbath. He died on Wednesday at 3 PM, 3 hours before the Annual High Sabbath began. He was resurrected from His death on Day 3 of Passover, on the third day - Nisan 17 - at 3 PM after 3 days and 3 nights. It was precisely 72 hours from the His death at 3 PM on Nisan 14. His resurrection was also on the weekly Saturday Sabbath in 30 AD.
There is enough information in God's Word to establish without any doubt the "true dates" of when Jesus carried out His plan for the salvation and redemption of Jews and Gentiles. Those dates are important to God. They are so important to Him that the "true dates" of when Jesus was born and when He died are to be remembered and observed forever. Those "true dates" will be kept even after the second coming of Jesus to earth.
