The Power of God's Positive Thinking

Psalm + 19:14
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in
your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
Ever listen to someone talk or worry themselves into a brain tumor, broken
limb, cancer or AIDS or mental illness and such? 'This headache is killing
me…I can't stand it when that happens…I feel like I'm going to die…You
make me sick…I would die (or kill) for a cigarette…This dessert is to die
for,' This problem is driving me crazy,’ and the ever popular,' I am sick
and tired of…' yada, yada, yada.
When piled one upon another, day in and day out, these seemingly innocent
and harmless catch phrases and verbal mannerisms can literally create in us
a death wish, of sorts, that can have a profound effect on our physical
and emotional wellbeing.

Colossians + 3:8
“…but now you, of all people, must give these things up…Abusive language
and dirty talk…”
James + 3:4 & 6
“Think of ships: no matter how big they are, even if a gale is driving
them, the man at the helm can steer them anywhere he likes by controlling a
tiny rudder. So is the tongue only a tiny part of the body… (6) Among all the
parts of the body, the tongue is a whole wicked world in itself; it
infects the whole body; catching fire itself from hell, it sets fire to the whole
wheel of creation.
Luke + 6:45
“For a man’s words flow out of what fills his heart.” (Jesus Christ)
Take for instance the woman who had a particularly abrasive nature where
push-comes-to- shove conversations were concerned. Whenever point-losing
confrontations developed and pushed the wrong buttons in her impetuous approach
at expressing her self-righteous nature, she'd try to turn things around
by saying something nasty or nonsensical.
As time passed, an enlightened member of her family, who'd been, for
35-years, constantly trying to talk her out of speaking so negatively, was
inspired to sit her down and warn her against saying such things and other
potentially destructive phrases such as the ones listed in paragraph one. The
very next day, the woman suffered a stroke, after which she spent two months
in the hospital and rehab and lost her power to speak coherently. Several
more months of speech therapy didn’t help either.
As a result, though she could read but not write English, having never
exerted the time and energy it would have taken to learn, communicating with
others became a major, time-consuming frustration.
Long, true story short- to this day, given the difficulties and overriding
necessities involved, the woman has ceased from speaking abrasively and
has eliminated all her negative, verbal mannerisms in favor of conveying only
absolutely imperative, life affirming trains of thought.
Mind Over Matters
Words, and the thoughts that conceive them, have power- more power than
most think. When the mind says or thinks something negative, the brain, which
is basically passive, acts upon that programming to a degree determined by
how much one believes the projected outcome will come to pass. The
stronger the belief, the greater the chances of an outer conscious manifestation
occurring.
Case In Point
When the brain hears, 'I am dying to find out,' it immediately sets in
motion a synaptic chain reaction of habits and routines that hold the
potential to fulfill the personal prophecy of the negative thought or phrase on or
before the day one 'finds out' whatever it is one seeks to know. In the
meantime, the positive prophecy the brain is obeying counteracts that negative
projection until one overcomes the other or, at the very least, declares a
stalemate until the mind makes up its mind as to which it favors.
The death wish variety of these verbal mannerisms are nothing more than
mini-negative visions Satan suggests and programs into his disciple’s brains
in order to further estrange himself and them from God's perfect will and
mind. If one should predominantly energize and believe in Satan's vision-
death, or the prerequisite symptoms thereof, must follow.
Scripture tells us that sowing in the field of the flesh breeds
corruption, while sowing in the Spirit results in a harvest of eternal life.
(Galatians + 6:8) This determines the quality of the life we live here on earth.
When we speak in a language or adopt an attitude inconsistent with the Holy
Spirit's, we are bound to reap negative, physical and emotional outcomes.

Romans + 6:23
“For the wage paid by sin is death…”

You Are What You Think and Say
We live in a positive/negative universe, not only on a natural-minded,
physical level, but in the spiritual realms as well. Everything we either
create or manifest into our daily lives was once a thought or idea inspired by
either Satan or God.
Matthew + 6:22
"The lamp of the body is the eye. It follows that if your eye be sound,
your whole body will be filled with light. But if your eye is diseased, your
whole body will be all darkness. If the light inside you is darkness, what
darkness that will be!" (Jesus Christ)
3 John + 3:2
"I hope everything is going happily with you and that you are as well
physically as you are spiritually. "
At the Last Supper Jesus told us to get into the habit of eating meals
together as a way of remembering Him. “Do this in remembrance of me,” He
commanded, thereby giving us a trigger mechanism by which this recollection
could be realized into our daily lives and habit power. By doing so we bless
the food we are about to eat, making it holy and worthy of consumption by
the Body of Christ, thereby immunizing ourselves against spiritually
dysfunctional attacks and sinful programming as well.

1 Timothy + 4:4
“Everything God has created is good, and no food is to be rejected,
provided grace is said for it: the word of God and the prayer make it holy.”

1 Corinthians + 11:29
“…a person who eats and drinks without recognizing the Body is eating and
drinking his own condemnation. In fact, that is why many of you are weak
and ill and some of you have died. If only we recollected ourselves, we
should not be punished like that.”

The Power of Choice
When God created us, He gave us the free will to do both good and evil.
Why? Why did God allow sin to hold court in the Garden of Eden? Why was man
given a free will?
For whatever reason, God wanted humankind to grow and develop into a race
of beings whose ultimate potential was as limitless and glorious as His
own. At the same time, he wanted us to be individually and personally
different, not only from Him, but from each other as well. Free will guarantees
this will happen.
God's Perfect Example
When Jesus appeared on planet Earth, He demonstrated the gift of
individuality to a degree unimaginable to the historians and scripturally learned
men and women of His time. His ministry impacted their hearts and minds much
the same as Superman would if such a being were to suddenly appear on our
own modern day scene. Talk about being totally out of the box.
And of all the qualities exemplified by Jesus, the one that intimidated,
humbled, alienated and impressed man most was His unwavering capacity to do
and be good, no matter what the circumstance.
Like Father, Like Sons and Daughters
To do so ourselves, we must think positively, creatively, compassionately
and lovingly, just as God does, even though our natural-minded propensity
for doing, being and thinking evil is ever-presently influential. This is
inescapable, being the imperfect creatures we become whenever we relent to
the wants of the flesh and the intellectual ego trips inspired by the natural
mind. But through Christ, our hearts are dedicated and given over as a
living sacrifice to God's vision of what is good and positive. Sooner or
later, we must do and be perfect, as He is.

Romans + 5:20
"When Law came, it was to multiply the opportunities for falling, but
however great the number of sins committed, grace was even greater; and so,
just as sin reigned wherever there was death, so grace will reign to bring
eternal life thanks to the righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ our
Lord."
Matthew + 5:48
"You must therefore be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect.
(Jesus Christ)
So it is that, through the living Word and Holy Spiritual essence of God
made flesh through Jesus, we have a standard by which all behavior can be
measured, corrected, and then realized into our daily lives.

John + 6:63
"The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life." (Jesus
Christ)

James + 1:22
"…you must do what the word tells you, and not just listen to it and
deceive yourselves…"
John + 3:16
"Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that
everyone who believes in him may not be lost but may have eternal life." (Jesus
Christ)
Love Conquers All
The key to God's-positive thinking, doing and being is His love for us.
For no matter how many times we fall into negativity, thanks to our Father's
free gift of faith in His Son Jesus Christ, God's love is there to pull us
out. No matter how much sin surrounds us, God is there to exert and expand
His love and power through us, for His grace is always greater than that
which seeks to overcome our faith in His Namesake. The Father's glory cannot
fail to manifest, no matter where we are or are sent in His Son's name.
Isaiah + 55:11
"…so the word that goes from my mouth does not return to me empty, without
carrying out my will and succeeding in what it was sent to do."
When a son or daughter of God moves in faith in the name and Holy Spirit
of Jesus, the positive will of Christ is also in motion with us, regardless
of how negative the situation or relationship. It is our duty and privilege
as God's ministers to overcome, through Christ, every negative
circumstance into which He sends us, for through the power of God's positive will, and
in His timeless, all-knowing and seeing Mind's eye, we have already been
given the victory.
Philippians + 2:5
"In your minds you must be the same as Christ Jesus."

1 Corinthians + 2:16
"As scripture says: Who can know the mind of the Lord, so who can teach
him? But we are those who have the Mind of Christ."

1 John + 5:5
"Who can overcome the world? Only the man who believes that Jesus is the
Son of God…"
The power of our faith in Jesus is limitless and undefeatable. To think
otherwise is to think negatively. When God says to our heart: "This is the
way things are and will be," believe and say Amen to Him, and you will be in
agreement and communion with the power of God's positive thinking.

1 John + 5:14
"We are quite confident that if we ask him for anything, and it is in
accordance with his will, he will hear us…"

Mark +11:24
"Everything you ask and pray for, believe that you have it already, and it
will be yours." (Jesus Christ)

The Mind of Christ
God's Mind is never on hold, nor does He sleep, and is incapable of making
a mistake or thinking an impure thought, for even though God can do all
things, He has decided not to think negatively for all time and eternity. We
must make the same decision and work towards emulating, as Jesus commands
us, to be like our Father in heaven- perfect.
God's Mind is in a constant state of creation, and the only key we have to
discovering how and what God creates is Jesus Christ. That is why we must
seek to join our minds to the Mind of Christ in order to continue the
process of creating the new mind- God's Mind within us; the son or daughter of
God mind, which is perfect, as He is.

Luke + 6:40
"The disciple is not superior to his teacher; the fully trained disciple
will always be like his teacher." (Jesus Christ)

Ephesians + 4:23
"Your mind must be renewed by a spiritual revolution, so that you can put
on the new self that has been created in God's way, in the goodness and
holiness of the truth."
John + 14:6
"I am the Way, the truth and the life." (Jesus Christ)

Romans + 8:28
"We know that by turning everything to their good God co-operates with all
those who love him, with all those that he has called according to his
purpose."
Galatians + 5:6
"What matters is faith that makes its power felt through love…"

Some Keys to the Kingdom of God
"The words I have given you are spirit and they are life…What is born of
the Spirit is spirit…A man can lay claim only to what is given him from
heaven…It is the Spirit that gives life, the flesh has nothing to offer…The
Holy Spirit, whom the father will send in my name, will teach you everything
and remind you all I have said to you…He (Jesus) will baptize you with the
Holy Spirit and with fire…Unless a man be born again through water and the
Spirit he cannot see the Kingdom of God…What the Spirit brings is love,
joy, peace, patience, patience, trustfulness, gentleness, kindness, goodness,
and self-control…Go is love…God is Spirit…Let anyone speak against the
Holy Spirit and he will not be forgiven, either in this life or the next…You
must therefore be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect…The only
man who could reach perfection is the man who never said anything wrong;
he is able to control every part of himself. For once we place the bit into
the horse's mouth, we have the whole animal under our control…Love will
come to its perfection within us when we can face the day of judgment without
fear; because even in this world we have become as he (Jesus) is…"
Free At Last
All of the above scripture affirms man's potential to be perfect through
faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Many would say that man cannot
achieve perfection while still housed in a physical body. They point to the
past and study man's mistakes, rather than focusing on the Son of Man's
example of perfect, Holy Spirit fellowship, which is the essence and focus of
every, born-again Christian's future. For just as the butterfly frees itself
from its old home in the chrysalis, a Christian looks forward to the day
when we can spread our spiritual wings and fly freely among the perfect
beings who inhabit heaven.
John + 8:31
"If you make my word your home you will indeed be my disciples, you will
learn the truth and the truth will make you free." (Jesus Christ)

The Life We Have Hidden In Christ
Our new mind is perfect. It lives within us, working and waiting to be set
free from all imperfection. We nourish it with God's Word by being the
instruments of His love and power. This inner life is our future- manifesting
in the now whenever we are inspired and enabled by the Holy Spirit to
forget our imperfect past in order to embrace life in the Spirit, just as Jesus
did when He walked among the truth seekers of His day.

Luke + 17:21
"…the Kingdom of God is within you." (Jesus Christ)
So, then, let us focus our awareness on perfection and forget each other's
sins, for within all of us lives perfection. And if we should forget we
are perfect every once in a while, don't ponder the mistake, or dwell on its
causes; Jesus doesn't. That's the joy of Christianity: once mistakes are
confessed, they are also forgotten forever. Only perfection is remembered
through the power, faith and grace of God's positive thinking in the name and
love of our Lord, Savior, friend and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

James + 1:25
"…the man who looks steadily at the perfect law of freedom and makes that
his habit- not listening and then forgetting, but actively putting into
practice- will be happy in all that he does."

1 Peter + 1:13
"Free your minds, then, of encumbrances; control them, and put your trust
in nothing but the grace that will be given you when Jesus Christ is
revealed."
1 Thessalonians + 5:20
"…think before you do anything- hold onto what is good and avoid every
form of evil."
Colossians + 3:8
“…but now you, of all people, must give these things up…Abusive language
and dirty talk…”
Psalm + 34:13
“Malice must be banished from your tongue, deceitful conversation from
your lips; never yield to evil, practice good, seek peace, pursue it.”

Psalm + 141:3
“Yahweh, set a guard at my mouth, a watcher at the gate of my lips.”

Proverbs + 21:23
“He who keeps watch over his mouth and his tongue preserves himself from
disaster.”
Matthew + 15:19
“For from the heart come evil intentions: murder, adultery, fornication,
theft, perjury, slander. These are the things that make a man unclean.”
(Jesus Christ)
Luke + 6:45
“For a man’s words flow out of what fills his heart.” (Jesus Christ)

1 John + 4:4
“…you are from God and you have in you one who is greater than anyone in
this world; as for them, they are of the world, and so they speak the
language of the world and the world listens to them.”

Romans + 12:2
"Do not model yourselves on the behavior of the world around you, but let
your behavior change, modeled by your new mind. This is the only way to
discover the will of God and know what is good, what it is that God wants,
what is the perfect thing to do."

Philippians + 4:8
"Finally, brothers, fill your minds with everything that is true,
everything that is noble, everything that is good and pure, everything that we love
and honor, and everything that can be thought virtuous and worthy of
praise. Keep doing all the things that you learnt from me and have been taught
by me and have heard or seen that I do. Then the God peace will be with
you."

Amen
In the name of Jesus Christ
