GNOSTICISM~The Post-Modern Church~A NEW WAY to follow Jesus?

Are the Gnostics are back? Shortly after the birth of Christianity
the early Church was threatened by false teachers, false apostles and
false beliefs. One sect vying for attention at this time was the sect of
Gnosticism (also known as the Nicolaitans). Early on Christian leaders
including Paul, James, John and Jude confronted this sect. Following the
apostles example the early church fathers also called this sect
heretical and apologetics were formulated against them and creeds,
statements of faith, were written to identify those who taught the true
faith of the early apostles and those who did not. Paul speaks
of a day when men will not put up with sound doctrine and will abandon
the faith to follow doctrines and myths taught by demons (2 Tim. 4:1-3
and 1 Tim. 4:1). Are we now in that day? Have we as a Church embraced
Gnosticism, the very theology, false teachings and myths the apostles
and the early Church rejected?
