Electricity problem
I copied all which was needed to my notepad in readiness to go up on the Webs when suddenly I was in total darkness. I had to close down my Ipad without saving so lost all the work.
Now getting some up from what I have read today. I am hoping to get to bed before midnight as I have a man come tomorrow to do a little more gardening and sort to keep the cats out which have been a nuisance as there are many either singing courting or making a mess.

Re: What I am up to today
It's a long while since I have posted my checking in here.
It;s been a tough few years of being very ill having had a tripple operation with 2 Surgeons. Thankful to say with that over I then got COVID
I have been getting along fine other than some breathing problems, it is said after being under anesthetic a long while can cause this problem.
My Son took me on holiday for my Birthday which was 4th May. He had sold his house at a little profit so paid for my daughter and her Son also. It was so lovely being together and my favourite place Peguera Spain.
Today: feeling very sad as my dear online friend and Sister in Jesus died yesterday. She was Hostess Brenda Gravely of Jesus'Place which we Partner with.
I am also a Moderator there, along with 2 others.
There will be no change in being Partner here as I also take Articles and make replies where applicable.

Sad that we are told there will not be a Memorial that her ashes will be with her Husband Jessie.
I will be ever grateful for her Wisdom sharing. She was a Brilliant Lecturer with so much knowledge.
She had even been invited to Lecturer on Hebrew the Israelites, with Facts and figures which correlate to what is known of the Bible.

Re: What I am up to today
Hello Reader,
You may notice I tried to clear a little of what’s laid up in both my mailboxes. The regulars I posted doubled up, but some news items and others I had to delete or leave.
I still don’t feel well enough to concentrate. I haven’t even prayed the past few days, just a blanket but not my usual coverage in the morning.
My sleep pattern all over the place.
I’m still not well but a little more human feeling than of late.
I lost track of what Day it was and hadn’t posted up Church without walls With Chip Brogden going through the Bible live. I put up a day late but hopefully with the link reading can be. Caught up with perhaps there is a video.
It’s hard to concentrate right now other than for a short message.
Blessings
Elaine

Re: What I am up to today
Well another adventure.
I have had a busy day much time on the phone trying to find help re-rescue of a young bird that had been attacked by other birds, it does look as though could be a young hawk and the reason being attacked.
It is now recovering the past two hours in a box with small glass container of sugar water, some mealworm and mixed suet and berry with small amount of seed. No idea, if it is a bird of prey, but he has a mixture.
He has a nasty wound on his back, my son dabbed the blood so it would dry up hopefully.
My son was to take our dog to the vets for his check up and shots, but he has had to have for the second time reschedule as my son was called into work again, it's his day off and we were going to catch up on things I wanted to take a look at after the dogs appointment, ah well always be ready for changes.

Senghenydd Glamorgan, South Wales. Portrait of a mining town
50 years after the Senghenydd mining disaster the town has changed with a new saw mill, bingo hall and television, bvut has the desvestated comunity managed to resurrect itself.
Documentar /1964 /17 mins
Watch Free From the collection of The National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales.

Warwick company newsreel material of the Universal Colliery at Senghenydd on fire after an explosion on 14th October 1913, and footage of a funeral procession for some of the 439 mine workers who were killed, is followed by a collage of images of the town and its people as they are 50 years later. Wynford Vaughan Thomas, narrating his own commentary, wonders if "colour"- superficial re-decoration – can really make any difference to "the inner heart of Senghenydd".
James Clark shot this film on spare, blank pieces of film left over from his editing of the 1964 film 'Charade' (he went on to edit 'The World is Not Enough', 'The Killing Fields', for which he won an Oscar, and 'Vera Drake'). Bill Probert, a local amateur photographer and former miner (heard on the soundtrack) assisted Clark with his knowledge of the locality and the people. Wynford Vaughan Thomas wrote and narrated the script and the question at the heart of it is what kind of future a community can possibly have following such a tragedy. None of the inhabitants are interviewed but the overall impression is the obvious one – that life goes on, in some way or other, whatever the past.

Re: What I am up to today
. It was a very late catch up for me yesterday. My son and I spent a lovely time together much of the day. We sat in the garden enjoying the sun, then to the garden centre where I bought some seed and plants. Later a trip to his house to check all was okay as it is now up for sale, the road had been blocked. A disaster happened a beautiful old building burned close to his house. A beautiful very old building with history was burned. Thankfully his home was ok as it was very close, we found out the Welsh news on our phones.
We ate out lunch together then an evening meal after visit his home.
a lovely early treat as it’s Mother’s Sunday coming up in U.K.
We went into a few stores bought more plants and he bought me beautiful peach colour perfume roses.
A blessed time indeed.

Re: What I am up to today
Remembering the sad death of my Son Carl Michael born 4th February 1964. he survived 16 hours after a very long labour. If my Son had lived he would be 58. I had come to know later that there had been many birth deaths at the Hospital where I was taken, and that it had been closed down. I presume they mean the Maternity section. I was left without a bell button to call for attention and not given anything to ease the pain.
I remember the following day being taken out into the open air on a trolly where I they had taken me for XRay.
Several Doctors were present later as they attempted to deliver the baby as he was Breach due to being premature, before time. Forceps were used and badly stitched.
I insisted on going home, where the Midwife Mrs Griffiths, who had the Newspaper Shop in Abertridwr attended me, she was crying as she tidied me up where I was left like a hedgehog with the lengths were left hanging, I remember she said what have they done to you.
I was allowed to go downstairs where my Aunt was dressing him, I was so upset I couldn't watch and ran up the stairs, the midwife gave me an injection and i fell asleep.
I know I will see him again in Heaven as a Christian.

Well! today I am having to Catch Up as I had to leave off much of my postings due to having an Emergency at the Dentist. Late But Thankfully he fitted me in.
My front tooth snapped the enamel off I was only biting into a choc ice cream. Hopefully this will hold on as long as I am careful as I go back as late as March to do a better job.
I felt so tired ended up going to bed very early hence some posting are what would have been done yesterday.

WELSH HISTORY
The man who wrote the lyrics of the Welsh national anthem, 'Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau'.
Evan James (1809 - 30th September 1878) was born in Caerphilly and raised at the Ancient Druid Inn, Hollybush, in the parish of Bedwellty. He later became a weaver and also the landlord of the pub, where his son James was born in 1832. Evan and his family moved to Pontypridd in 1847, where he operated a woollen factory. Evan composed poems in Welsh which were published under his bardic name, Ieuan ap Iago and composed the lyrics of 'Hen Wlad fy Nhadau' (originally named ‘ Glanrhondda') after the melody had come to James one day as he walked along the river bank.
The oldest existing version of the song is dated 1856 and was first performed in Maesteg at Tabor Methodist Chapel. In 1858, ‘ Hen Wlad fy Nhadau ’ was entered for competition at the national eisteddfod in Llangollen and was immediately very popular. In 1899, the singer Madge Breese made the song the first known recording in the Welsh language and in 1905, it became the world's first national anthem sung before a sporting event when the Welsh rugby team defeated the New Zealand All Blacks.
There is a memorial to Evan in Dafydd Williams Park, Caerphilly and to Evan and James in Ynysangharad Park, Pontypridd.
‘Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau’ – or ‘Land Of My Fathers’ in English – is Wales’ rambunctious national anthem. But what do the lyrics mean, and who wrote them?
Here’s everything you need to know about Wales’ national song, from its composer to its lyrics and English translation.
The best national anthems in the world >
What are the lyrics to ‘Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau’?
1. Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi,
Gwlad beirdd a chantorion, enwogion o fri;
Ei gwrol ryfelwyr, gwladgarwyr tra mâd,
Tros ryddid gollasant eu gwaed.
Chorus:
Gwlad, Gwlad, pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad,
Tra môr yn fur i'r bur hoff bau,
O bydded i'r heniaith barhau.
2. Hen Gymru fynyddig, paradwys y bardd;
Pob dyffryn, pob clogwyn, i'm golwg sydd hardd,
Trwy deimlad gwladgarol, mor swynol yw si,
Ei nentydd, afonydd, i mi.
3. Os treisiodd y gelyn fy ngwlad dan ei droed,
Mae hen iaith y Cymry mor fyw ag erioed,
Ni luddiwyd yr awen gan erchyll law brad,
Na thelyn berseiniol fy ngwlad.
What do the lyrics mean?
The song talks of Wales' rich heritage and culture of poetry, music, patriotic heroes, linguistic pride and, of course, Wales' inimitable landscape. It translates as the following:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTWtHJmGoHY
1. This land of my fathers is dear to me
Land of poets and singers, and people of stature
Her brave warriors, fine patriots
Shed their blood for freedom
Chorus:
Land! Land! I am true to my land!
As long as the sea serves as a wall
For this pure, dear land
May the language endure for ever.
2. Old land of the mountains, paradise of the poets,
Every valley, every cliff a beauty guards;
Through love of my country, enchanting voices will be
Her streams and rivers to me.
3. Though the enemy have trampled my country underfoot,
The old language of the Welsh knows no retreat,
The spirit is not hindered by the treacherous hand
Nor silenced the sweet harp of my land.

The Story Behind the Song “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus”
About 150 years ago, there was a great revival in Wales, England. As a result of this, many missionaries came from England to northeast India to spread the Gospel. The region was known as Assam and comprised hundreds of tribes. The tribal communities were quite primitive and aggressive. The tribesmen were also called head-hunters because of a social custom which required the male members of the community to collect as many heads as possible. A man’s strength and ability to protect his wife was assessed by the number of heads he had collected. Therefore, a youth of marriageable age would try and collect as many heads as possible and hang them on the walls of his house. The more heads a man had, the more eligible he was considered. Into this hostile and aggressive community, came a group of Welsh missionaries spreading the message of love, peace, and hope of Jesus Christ. Naturally, they were not welcomed. One Welsh missionary finally succeeded in converting a man, his wife, and two children. This man’s faith proved contagious and many villagers began to accept Christianity. Angry, the village chief summoned all the villagers. He then called the family who had first converted to renounce their faith in public or face execution. Moved by the Holy Spirit, the man sung his reply, “I have decided to follow Jesus. No turning back.”
Enraged at the refusal of the man, the chief ordered his archers to arrow down the two children. As both boys lay twitching on the floor, the chief asked, “Will you deny your faith? You have lost both your children. You will lose your wife too.”
But the man replied, again singing, “Though none go with me, still I will follow. No turning back.”
The chief was beside himself with fury and ordered his wife to be arrowed down. In a moment she joined her two children in death. Now he asked for the last time, “I will give you one more opportunity to deny your faith and live.”
In the face of death the man sung, “The cross before me, the world behind me. No turning back. No turning back.”
He was shot dead like the rest of his family. But with their deaths, a miracle took place. The chief who had ordered the killings was moved by the faith of the man. He wondered, “Why should this man, his wife and two children die for a Man who lived in a far-away land on another continent some 2,000 years ago? There must be some supernatural power behind the family, and I too want that supernatural power.”
In a spontaneous confession of faith, he declared, “I too belong to Jesus Christ!” When the crowd heard this from the mouth of their chief, the whole village accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Re: What I am up to today
7 Years ago todays date 8/7/2011 in my memories over at Facebook I mentioned of a Hospital appointment. ... Was able to evangelise to one of the nurses...
THere was 3 outside the consultation room, I came outside and said "Im not dying ..quickly with well we ALL are really, unless your a Christian, which I am and I'm going to live forever....One of the nurses followed with I am a Chrisitan:) then the other .....I looked to the one who said nothing, who said "I'm not and don't know how to be.
I was able to let her know Jesus died on the cross for her sins and she need to to ask him to forgive her and come into her heart and life, she replied with WOW that's not painful ! both other nurses smiled at me.
I thank and praise God for opportunity for a seed was able to be sown.
Whatever the outcome at my appointment I know where I am going, but may we also remember those who may not be aware of His saving grace and use use every opportunity available to us and place them into God's capable hands.
My good news for today.
Blessings

Re: What I am up to today
A Decade Ago
Ten Years on, the devastating Tsunami in 2004
Where over two hundred thousand people lost their lives.
I have much to be thankful for God's protection of my family. My daughter left for Thailand, then to migrate to New Zealand, when I kissed her goodbye with my blessings thinking Iwould never see her again, I didn't expect this as on her Itinery her first stop was to be at Phuket. She would have been on the beech that day. She was carrying her first child my grandson, which was another miracle as previously, it was thought she would not have children after cancer scare.
She was tired after embarking the plane of her long journey from UK I thank God she was tired. They stopped at a Hotel to catch up on some sleep. They got a taxi and said to Phuket, the driver said IS NO MORE! They said of course there is, we have been before, he said I will take you to a safe place. there was no train, that had been washed away, they drove for a long time, and the place they were was higher up, where survivors were being airlifted by helicopter. Communications was down and
it was about 3 days later before I received a short email sent to everyone on mailing list
WE ARE SAFE
Hi everyone,
Sorry for the bulk email but we thought we could put your minds at rest to know that we are safe. I guess you could say someone was looking after us as we were going to the exact place where the devastation hit but chose to come here 1st.
We were in bangkok when it happened and didn't know anything about it as we had been out buying bits for the trip. The first we knew was from the taxi driver, we just thought it's another scam, oh, you dont want to go there, it's not nice, a bit like the (never closing) temples being closed.......however it was no joke.
The waves we big the day we arrived but didn't realise that would be one of the effects.
See some of you soon, see some of you one day soon, see some of you never. Either way, love you all as great people!! HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Love xxxxxxxx
ps, and bump.
Well now for me to get on with my posting as the Forum was down and I just couldn't post.
Wishing you All a blessed day
Re: What I am up to today
Good morning Everyone,
After the warmest End of October in History here in UK we expect to be in minus figures tomorrow, today started off frosty and now we have heavy rain.
I got an awful problem with my notepad getting things to show at Jesus' Place, which we partner with. I have updated Java rebooted and no idea what else to do, have been trying since early this morning although did manage to post to Sandi a member in the laughs Board and only because I got a notification reply in my mailbox. This has gone on for me since late last night.
Ever felt like taking a hammer to it?
I cannot see any of the Board Names only the long number which appear under each Board, when I click, it is guess work by the titles of Articles which Board I'm in.
I've come to the conclusion it must be a Delphi thing and not my end as all other places I visit like Face Book my mailboxes etc., are OKay.
Hopefully it will be sorted soon as it would take me an age to get postings up. Meanwhile, I will go over to Facebook and come back later.
I know Yahoo have had a problem for ages, many of what I subscribed to receive have lost their mailing lists, which mean unless I can find in search to re-subscribe I'm no longer getting the feeds to bring, here at World Wide Christians and Jesus' Place where I actually now spend my time and often I forget to check my book mark, of others which don't offer subscribe, hence the need to do catchup.
I hope you all have a very good day.
Blessings
