Right now, nearly everyone takes for granted that one must not ridicule or mock or otherwise provoke Islam. Can criminal penalties be far behind in the West? Ridiculous, right? Preposterous, no? Is it really, however, nowadays when having the wrong political opinions can get one deplatformed and denied services by the social media and online fundraising giants? “Tamil Nadu: Five held in Coimbatore for plotting to murder Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath,” Express News Service, September 3, 2018 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):
COIMBATORE: The city police, based on a tip-off from Central intelligence agencies, arrested five Muslim youth for allegedly hatching a plot to murder Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) leader Arjun Sampath and his son Omkar Balaji, on Saturday night. Four of them were already on the radar of the Central intelligence agencies when they showed up at Coimbatore Railway Junction; the fifth person had gone to the station to receive the other four.
A social media page was the only link between the four Chennai youth — Jafar Safiq Ali (29) of Vysarpadi, Ismail (25) of Tindivanam, Samsudeen (20) of Pallavaram and Shalavuddin (25) of Pallavaram, and one Coimbatore boy — Ashik (25) of Variety Hall Road. And the alleged plan to murder HMK leader Arjun Sampath and son Omkar Balaji.
Sources privy to the investigation told Express that the five had discussed ways to kill Arjun and had spread hatred against on social media, they had plans ready for Omkar as he was an easier target, given that the former had police protection. German authorities have dropped a case in which a 10-year-old Afghan boy raped a classmate during a school trip while Syrian and Afghan accomplices held him down, as the perpetrators are apparently not old enough to be tried. An update on this story: another “cultural” situation that the West is ill-equipped to deal with. Take, or example, the Palestinian territories: children under ten are taught to commit violence against Israelis in school curricula, and are even sent to jihad terror summer camps to learn how to murder Israelis. Does this mean that any child that commits a crime, no matter how serious, damaging and gruesome, will automatically be given immunity due to age? A sobering thought.

The Hungarian government is openly asking “What’s wrong with the Swedes?”…. while the leader of Poland’s governing Law and Justice Party has said his country must avoid Western Europe’s “social diseases”…. Hungarian government spokesman Zoltán Kovács posed the question: “Why are these senior Swedish figures portraying Hungary as Europe’s bogeyman, spreading falsehoods and distorting facts about our government’s policies on migration?….. Those who support immigration, including in this case members of the Swedish government, will not shy away from falsehoods and politically-motivated criticisms of democratically elected governments that, in representing the will of the citizens, oppose mass immigration and open borders
Sweden — like many countries that are afflicted with globalist leaders — does not grasp the difference between responsible immigration and reckless immigration. Swedish leaders have traded their democratic heritage for an anything-goes brand of multiculturalism; that’s what’s wrong with Sweden. Given its current, chaotic state, there may as well be no jails in Sweden and no application process for potential immigrants, since many no-go zones have spread into once-peaceful areas, are like war zones and jihadists are running free. The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president-elect of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, has said: The issue of public caning needs to be handled with care, as one could easily find themselves accused of being anti-Islam for disagreeing with it. In other words, “Islamophobic.” Ibrahim, who is set to become Prime Minister in two years, is absolutely right. Anywhere you go in the world and criticize Islam, you will be deemed “Islamophobic” and/or much worse; but the West should not be handling this serious topic “with care” when the worst human rights abuses are being inflicted upon people. “This is not prison; this is a genocide,” stated an audience member following August 29 movie screenings concerning the Gaza Strip at the Washington, DC office of the Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL). Typifying the Israel-hating audience of about 25 that filled FCNL’s small Capitol Hill presentation room, this woman’s comments demonstrated how Quakers at FCNL and beyond have joined the global demonization of Israel.
The woman, a self-professed member of the radical anti-Israel organization Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), “was totally sickened” by the evening’s viewings of Gaza in Context and Gaza: A Gaping Wound. These two films formed the latest presentation of Voices from the Holy Land (VFHL), a Washington, DC-area film club that unites local members of Israel’s enemies such as JVP and is well-known to this author. Gaza’s ruling Hamas terrorists could not have been more pleased with VFHL’s pseudo-documentaries depicting victimized Palestinians and fiendish Zionists, as the JVP woman declared, “I just want to stand up and salute every Palestinian.”
Such bias belied the supposed objectivity of the evening’s introduction by VFHL’s Deepak Kenkeremath, a member of Manassas Presbyterian Church in Virginia. The “mainstream media” discusses Gaza in terms of “words and phrases like terrorists, and Hamas, and rockets, and suicide bombers, and Israeli Defense Forces,” he stated. Somehow the evening’s agitprop sought to expose a deeper, hidden truth behind the clear meaning of these plain words, and give “context for understanding what is going on in Gaza right now.”

By this, German authorities mean that they did not find an ISIS or al-Qaeda membership card in his wallet, and above all, Please don’t think that there is anything wrong with Merkel’s filling the country with Muslim migrants because of this. But in reality, when Hingst said this, it was only hours after the attack. Police simply hadn’t had time to conduct a thorough investigation into his Internet habits, his bookshelf, his friends and acquaintances, the local mosque, etc. So this was more an expression of what German authorities hoped was the case, and wanted the public to believe, than it was of reality. The German authorities may turn out to be right, but if they do, it won’t be on the basis of the investigation that had been conducted up to the point that Hingst made this statement.
“Knife attacker on Germany bus arrested, nine injured,” AFP, July 20, 2018:
Nine people were injured Friday in an attack by a man wielding a knife on a bus in northern Germany, officials said Friday, although his motive remained unclear.
The packed bus was heading in the direction of Travemuende, a popular beach destination close to the city of Luebeck, when a man pulled the weapon on passengers, Luebeck chief prosecutor Ulla Hingst said.
Regional interior minister for Schleswig-Holstein state, Hans-Joachim Grote, told news agency DPA that six people suffered knife wounds and three others different injuries, while the attacker also punched the bus driver….
“The passengers jumped out of the bus and were screaming. It was terrible. Then the injured were brought out. The perpetrator had a kitchen knife,” a witness who lives close to the scene, Lothar H., told local daily Luebecker Nachrichten.
An unnamed female passenger on the bus said one of those injured had only just given up his seat to an elderly woman, “when the perpetrator stabbed him in the chest.”…
Prosecutor Hingst told mass-market daily BILD that the suspected attacker is “a 34-year-old German citizen of Iranian origin”.
“We have no indication of political radicalisation of any kind,” she added….
While the motive of the perpetrator has not yet been established, Germany has been on high alert after several deadly Islamist extremist attacks…

The 223rd General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA met last month in St. Louis. As I reported in a previous blog, one of the overtures of particular interest to me on their agenda dealt with interfaith relations. Known as Overture 7-1, it was approved as amended by the General Assembly on Wednesday, June 20th. Among the seven directives of this overture was number 2, the final version of which reads: “Condemn all religiously inspired and motivated violence, prejudice, discrimination, and hate speech.” As I commented in the earlier blog, passage of this overture would keep the PCUSA extremely busy, especially with regard to the actions of the Islamic world. Perhaps the denomination will open up a new ministry dedicated to this new directive, appropriately named the Office of Condemnation.

It has been almost a month since the close of the General Assembly, and I have checked the official news organizations of the PCUSA to track the denomination’s obedience to this new directive. As of yet, there have been no condemnations of religiously inspired and motivated violence, violence, prejudice, discrimination, and hate speech. That does not mean, of course, that such things have not occurred around the world, just that the PCUSA is not attuned to obvious existence, especially with regard to the Muslim world. To be of help, I have catalogued a representative sample of the types of activities since June 20th which should have triggered an official PCUSA response:
Discrimination:
On 7/8 Iran sentenced a young woman to 2 years imprisonment and 18 years probation (she must keep silent or else) for protesting the mandatory nature of the hijab.
During Ramadan, a Sikh teenager at the Islamic University of Science and Technology in Kashmir was systematically pressured to convert to Islam and observe Ramadan; when she complained after being stabbed by two masked men, the Muslim Vice-Chancellor dismissed the harassment claims, arguing that her classmates were “only joking.”
On 7/6, there was a public mass flogging of “suspected prostitutes” in Indonesia’s Muslim-dominated Aceh province.
On 6/27, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) revealed that it was imposing the Muslim jizya tax on the Assyrian Christian town of Ankawa in the province of Irbil, simply because its inhabitants were Christians, not Muslims.
In the country of Kyrgyzstan, officials recently ordered a church of Muslim converts to close or face the consequences.
Rampant discrimination against females within Islam is reflected in the high rate of female genital mutilation (FGM) practiced (and supported by Shari’a law). The British government recently reported that there is a religiously-based act of FGM committed every two hours on average among its population — the vast majority of these mutilations take place in immigrants’ home countries where they return specifically for this reason.
Fulani Muslim militants have systematically targeted Christian citizens in Nigeria for ethnic cleansing. So far in 2018, some 6,000 have been massacred.
Hate Speech:
A recent internal survey of 100 mosques in “moderate” Jakarta found that 41 of them were “radical,” meaning that their typical messages included “hate speech, calls for the establishment of a caliphate, and a negative portrayal of other faiths.” If this is true in a country touted for being moderate in Islamic practice, what might that imply for more conservative Muslim countries?
In June, Dutch politician Geert Wilders announced that his Freedom Party will be holding a “draw Muhammad” cartoon contest soon to highlight the need for vigilance over the right of free speech. He has since received many public and private death threats. Pakistani hardline politician Khadim Hussain Rizvi, upon hearing of this, publicly declared, “If they give me the atom bomb I would remove Holland from the face of the earth before they can hold a competition of caricatures….”
On 7/5 the official Palestinian Authority TV station publicly lauded as heroes the mutilators and executioners of Israeli soldiers captured in 2000. Imprisoned for years now by the Israelis, these individuals are being praised as “giants of endurance.”
On his 79th birthday (7/17) Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei declared his intention once again to eliminate Israel from the face of the earth. “…[T]he fabricated Zionist regime will be eradicated,” he promised.
Prejudice:
In early July, Pakistan’s first Sikh police officer, Gulab Singh,was attacked in his home by Muslim officials who removed his turban, unwound his hair and then dragged him from his home by his hair, disrespecting his faith and pressuring him and his family to leave the country.

UK: Franklin Graham Festival of Hope ads banned over Graham’s “islamophobic” comments

Church leaders in Blackpool have criticised what they describe as an “astonishing” decision to ban bus adverts promoting an evangelistic event which will see Franklin Graham preach a gospel message……In an open letter, the church leaders said: “Because the Christian community is also a customer, we hope Blackpool Transport will listen to our public feedback as well, and not show what appears to be a potential bias against Christians.”

Blackpool Transport banned the ads for the Franklin Graham Lancashire Festival of Hope because Graham has previously condemned homosexuality, and because he has made “Islamophobic” comments such as “Islam has declared war on the world.” Truth be told, Graham understands what the global jihad is about.

Lancashire has a bad reputation when it comes to Islamic issues: the Lancashire Police won the “diversity champion of the year” award at the British Muslim Awards; a Sharia court in Lancashire handed down a sentence approving of honor killing; and Islamic leaders in Lancashire called on Muslims to boycott school meals after a ban on non-stunned halal meat in schools.

The company had said it came to the decision after listening to public feedback.
A number of people had taken to social media to claim that Franklin Graham would be preaching hate and homophobia at the event which is due to take place at the city’s Winter Gardens in September.
In an open letter, the church leaders said: “Because the Christian community is also a customer, we hope Blackpool Transport will listen to our public feedback as well, and not show what appears to be a potential bias against Christians.”
A number of MPs have raised concern about his visit to Blackpool fearing he will repeat previous statements condemning homosexuality and Islam.
But speaking to Premier earlier this year, Graham said: “I’m not coming to preach hate, I’m here to preach about a saviour – Jesus Christ who can make a difference in our lives if we put our faith and trust in him.”
The church leaders say they are seeking a meeting with Blackpool Transport and have urged Christians not to complain but to act in a positive nature by praying….

France: Knife-wielding Muslim on Paris metro screams, “I’m Muslim, I’ll kill all the Catholics”

“His threats caused great panic,” for which he will expect a reward from Allah, who commands Muslims to “strike terror in the enemies of Allah” (Qur’an 8:60).
But for Parisians, it’s just the price they pay for living in a vibrantly diverse, multicultural city. Dissenters will be branded “Islamophobes” and shunned by all decent people.

On 14 July, France’s national holiday, a Muslim man caused panic on the Paris metro, newspaper Le Parisien reports.
Shortly before 1 pm on Saturday at Anvers station, a passenger suddenly showed a knife on the platform and began to scream: “I’m Muslim, I’ll kill all the Catholics.”
His threats caused great panic but fortunately for the passengers of a nearby carriage, the man was overpowered and arrested by police before he could attack anyone.

A tale of two Aurangzebs

The modern-day Aurangzeb was a Muslim in the Indian military who was murdered by Pakistani jihadis last month. Those who conclude from this that the jihad is over in India, and Muslims there are now loyal members of Indian society, happy to contribute to their nation’s defense, should also bear in mind that those who killed today’s Aurangzeb were animated by the same jihadist principles and exhortations that motivated the first Aurangzeb, the bloody seventeenth-century Mughal emperor. And there are many of them.
As I show in my new book The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS, Aurangzeb was outrageously cruel to his non-Muslim subjects. In 1670 he issued this decree: “Every idol-house built during the last 10 or 12 years, whether with brick or clay, should be demolished without delay. Also, do not allow the crushed Hindus and despicable infidels to repair their old temples.”
A Muslim historian, Saqa Mustad Khan, writing just after Aurangzeb died in 1707, reported that in January 1680, Aurangzeb “went to view lake Udaisagar, constructed by the Rana, and ordered all the three temples on its banks to be demolished.” The following day, “Hasan Ali Khan brought to the Emperor twenty camel-loads of tents and other things captured from the Rana’s palace and reported that one hundred and seventy-two other temples in the environs of Udaipur had been destroyed.” Later that year, “Abu Turab, who had been sent to demolish the temples of Amber, returned to Court…and reported that he had pulled down sixty-six temples.”

UK Labour top dogs slam Trump as “Islamophobic” for criticizing Sadiq Khan

“The chattering-class concern with Islamophobia is not about protecting Muslims from genuine discrimination or violence (both of these things are already illegal), but rather is about ringfencing Islam and all Muslims from criticism, surrounding this one religion with a blasphemy-deflecting forcefield. So any commentary on Islam or even on influential Muslims can be casually batted aside as ‘phobic’.”
Yes. This has been going on for years, and is already quite far advanced.

…Trump is saying that Sadiq is ‘responsible for terrorism’, says Labour’s shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry. He didn’t say that, though. He simply said Sadiq has done a bad job on terrorism – the same way many, many people said Tony Blair did a bad job on terrorism and may even have stoked it up with his foreign interventions. Trump’s comment on Sadiq is ‘Islamophobia and it is racist’, Thornberry said.
Labour MP David Lammy said, ‘The real reason Trump blames my friend Sadiq Khan for the terror attacks last year’ – he didn’t do that! – ‘is simple. He hates that London chose a Muslim mayor.’ Lammy offers no evidence for this. But why should he? In the increasingly grating grievance politics of identity and victimhood, proof counts for nought and inference is always enough. Criticise Islam, you hate Muslims. Wonder about the wisdom of mass immigration, you’re racist. It’s automatic. Maybe I’m racist for criticising David Lammy.

Bill Clinton’s new novel features “Sons of Jihad” leader who is “not Muslim”

Bill Clinton and James Patterson almost certainly didn’t write this book; it was likely written by hired hands. But they are still responsible for its contents, which reflects Leftist wishful thinking. In the minds of the political and media elites, jihad terrorists are indeed not Muslim. I remember years ago, during the George W. Bush administration, a State Department official in conversation with me caught and corrected himself after referring to jihadis as Muslim, saying abashedly, “I shouldn’t say they are Muslim…”
Well, what are they? Seventh Day Adventists? Something like that, anyway. In the Clinton/Patterson novel, the fictional President explains that “he held a telephone conversation with ‘the most dangerous and prolific cyberterrorist in the world,’ Suliman Cindoruk, who leads an organization known as Sons of Jihad. (‘He’s Turkish-born, but he’s not Muslim,’ Duncan says.”
Clinton and Patterson likely really believe that jihadis aren’t Muslim, but this is ridiculous. Jihad is an Islamic concept. There is no concept of jihad outside of Islam. Read my new book The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS, and you may notice that in fourteen centuries of jihad warfare around the globe, the jihadis all have one thing in common: each and every one of them is Muslim. But this Suliman Cindoruk is Turkish and jihadist, yet somehow not Muslim. Leftist fantasy embodied.

Canada: Student whose throat was slashed by Muslim who believed Qur’an wanted him to kill sues school

“Almestadi’s trial heard he knocked on the 19-year-old’s door, slit her throat and started choking her before other students pulled him off. A court found the teen not criminally responsible because he was suffering from a psychotic episode in which he believed the Qur’an had sent him a message to kill Hare.”
Did he really need a “psychotic episode” to get the idea that the Qur’an wanted him to slit the throat of a non-Muslim? “When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks” (Qur’an 47:4).
“Hare alleges in the lawsuit filed in B.C. Supreme Court that UBC failed to install or properly install a peephole or any chains, bars or latches that would allow a door to be opened safely while remaining locked and preventing unwanted entry of potential assailants….’The assault occurred due to the negligence of UBC.'”
Yes, but UBC’s negligence didn’t consist of not installing chains, bars or latches. It consisting of admitting a student who took the Qur’an’s orders to kill unbelievers as immediate marching orders. But there was no way they could have distinguished Tamer Almestadi from peaceful Muslim students before this happened, and so UBC administrators, like college and university administrators all over the U.S. and Canada, chose to put their entire student populations at risk.

Non-Muslims paying for the upkeep of Muslims is a Qur’anic dictate:
“Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued” (Qur’an 9:29).
The caliph Umar said the jizya payments from the dhimmis were the source of the Muslims’ livelihood:
“Narrated Juwairiya bin Qudama at-Tamimi: We said to `Umar bin Al-Khattab, ‘O Chief of the believers! Advise us.’ He said, ‘I advise you to fulfill Allah’s Convention (made with the Dhimmis) as it is the convention of your Prophet and the source of the livelihood of your dependents (i.e. the taxes from the Dhimmis.)’” (Bukhari 4.53.388)

Soccer Moms Take On Sharia In New Book

“The best defense is grassroots education,” concludes Valerie L.  Greenfeld concerning domestic jihadist dangers in her new book Backyard Jihad: How Parents Can Detect the Invisible Threat of Radicalization. Her primer for Main Street communities contending with Muslims dreaming dangerous dreams of establishing Islamic states in the West raises important issues for the citizens of the free world in America and beyond who are seeking a first line of civil defense against sharia supremacism.
Greenfield’s book dismisses myths about jihadist terrorism involving disadvantaged individuals turning to violence out of despair. “Contrary to some media reports, those joining terrorist organizations in the U. S. rarely do so as a result of poverty or lack of education, dignity, or occupation,” she writes. “Why leave the U.S. after being fortunate enough to enter the freedom of America?” she perceptively notes of individuals in Islamic immigrant communities who leave America’s Promised Land for jihad in foreign hellholes.
Greenfeld draws upon a 2007 New York City Police Department (NYPD) study to show that recruits to jihad seek to fulfill various longings of the heart. “The prospective recruits are struggling with frustration, anger, loneliness, or disagreement,” she notes. “Finding a new identity or ideology fulfills the need to feel important and included.”

Chicago-area town board member pressured to resign for noting that Muslim immigrants aren’t integrating

What did Sharon Brannigan say to trigger these self-righteous protests and demands for her resignation? She noted that Muslims are not integrating into the local communities, and that schools are full of Middle Eastern students without proper documentation. What in that is false? All over Europe, we have seen Muslim leaders discourage Muslims from integrating, because they are the “best of people” (Qur’an 3:110), and the unbelievers are “the most vile of created beings” (Qur’an 98:6). Turkey’s Erdogan has discouraged Muslims in Europe from integrating, and yet to note that in the U.S. is “Islamophobic”? The persecution of Sharon Brannigan is sheer madness, and shows the avidity of the Left to target and destroy anyone and everyone who says the mildest critical word about Islam or mass Muslim migration into the West.

Pakistan: Persecution of Christians increases in first six months of 2018

Christians live an increasingly precarious existence in Pakistan, but the global human rights organizations are generally too preoccupied with finding incidents of “Islamophobia” to take much notice.



“Persecution of Pakistani Christians Heightens in First Six Months of 2018,” Persecution.org, July 11, 2018:
Washington D.C. (International Christian Concern) – The first six months of 2018 have marked the beginning of another frightening and difficult year for Christians in Pakistan. As we review the last six months of Christian persecution in Pakistan, you will see that the nation is yet to experience any positive change regarding religious freedom for Christians.
Since the formation of the country, Pakistan has regarded its religious minorities as second-class citizens. Upon reading Pakistan’s constitution, one can see evidence of this. Religious minorities are legally barred from high government offices and all laws are required to be compatible with Islamic teachings. The interpretation of the constitution has only served to reinforce the marginalization of Christians and other religious minorities.
Pakistan’s notorious blasphemy laws continue to damage Pakistan’s Christian community as seven Christians were booked under these laws between January and June 2018. Six of these blasphemy accusations were reported from Faisalabad and one from Lahore.

“Classifying the IDF, one of the most professional and responsible military forces in the world, alongside terrorist groups like ISIS and Boko Haram is an absurdity.”

And more than an absurdity: it’s a monstrous injustice, and it clearly demonstrates the perfidy of the United Nations, which at this point is little more than a tool of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The U.S. shouldn’t just slash funding to it, but defund it altogether, withdraw from it, and expel it from New York.

The White House and Congress are considering slashing U.S. funding to the United Nations in light of its most recent effort to declare the Jewish state’s fighting forces a chief violator of children’s rights, according to multiple conversations with U.S. officials.

The U.N. is working to add the Israeli Defense Forces, or IDF, to a list of entities such as terror groups that are responsible for inhumane acts against children.

The move would be just the latest anti-Israel salvo by the U.N., which caused controversy late last year when, with the backing of the Obama administration, it moved to condemn Israel for building homes for Jewish people in Jerusalem.

The latest action against Israel would add the IDF to the Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflicts, which would designate the Jewish state’s fighting forces as one of the worst offenders of children’s human rights in the world. Other groups and entities on the list include terrorist entities and forces that kill children en masse.

The move has prompted outrage in the White House and on Capitol Hill, where multiple U.S. officials told the Washington Free Beacon that they will no longer stand by as the U.N. singles out Israel for criticism. The effort to counter what they described as the U.N.’s anti-Israel bias is likely to include cutting a large portion of U.S. funding to the organization.

One senior White House official familiar with the Trump administration’s thinking on the matter told the Free Beacon that the president and his senior-most advisers are sick of seeing Israel treated as a pariah by the U.N.

“The Israeli Defense Forces are among the most humane, professional armed forces on the planet,” said the official, who was not authorized to speak on record. “Israel has been aggressively refining its protocols to minimize civilian casualties—so much so that after the 2014 conflict in Gaza the United States sent a delegation to study their best practices.”

The White House official signaled that the Trump administration would pursue a vastly different approach to the U.N. than its predecessor.

The Obama administration came under criticism from the pro-Israel community on numerous occasions for failing to defend Israel adequately in the face of international criticism. This culminated in a flurry of anger late last year when the Obama administration, in one of its final official acts, permitted the U.N. to officially chastise Israel in a break with decades of U.S. policy.

“In a region where the use of civilians, including children, as human shields is routine, singling out Israel for condemnation is, in a word, ridiculous,” the White House official said. “If the United Nations’ Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict has nothing better to do with the United States taxpayer dollars that fund it than engage in a vendetta against our ally Israel, perhaps we should rethink that support.”

Rep. Peter Roskam (R., Ill.), a vocal defender of Israel, expressed disappointment in the U.N.’s latest action. He told the Free Beacon that Congress is prepared to reduce U.S. financial support for the U.N., which comprises a significant share of the organization’s operational budget.

“The United States Congress is already taking a serious look at United Nations funding levels in light of a number of recent actions unfairly targeting Israel,” Roskam said. “Classifying the IDF, one of the most professional and responsible military forces in the world, alongside terrorist groups like ISIS and Boko Haram is an absurdity.”

Importance of Trump’s Executive Order might not be fully understood for generations

Separating ourselves from the hysteria over Trump’s Executive Order on immigration, this is the crucial paragraph if you want to understand what Trump’s Administration is doing (full text of the statement here). At the end of this article I’ll explain it line by line.

In order to protect Americans, the United States must ensure that those admitted to this country do not bear hostile attitudes toward it and its founding principles. The United States cannot, and should not, admit those who do not support the Constitution, or those who would place violent ideologies over American law. In addition, the United States should not admit those who engage in acts of bigotry or hatred (including “honor” killings, other forms of violence against women, or the persecution of those who practice religions different from their own) or those who would oppress Americans of any race, gender, or sexual orientation.

As we find ourselves at the end of the first week of the Trump era, we see this weekend’s screaming press outrage over Trump’s Executive Order and the complete shock that he’s enacting one of the core planks of his campaign. For some reason people have been conditioned to believe that promises made by politicians during election campaigns will all be broken.

There’s only one thing that’s happened this weekend which anyone should be mildly concerned about; it has to do with reports of Green Card holders having issues at airports. It’s reasonably clear from the text of the order that this shouldn’t be happening; either the reports are false or rogue elements in the Immigration Service are deliberately being overzealous to cause public issues. David French at National Review has a very good article on the hysterical overreaction:

However, there are reports that the ban is being applied even to green-card holders. This is madness. The plain language of the order doesn’t apply to legal permanent residents of the U.S., and green-card holders have been through round after round of vetting and security checks. The administration should intervene, immediately, to stop misapplication. If, however, the Trump administration continues to apply the order to legal permanent residents, it should indeed be condemned.

The press have gone into a meltdown over the immediate clamping down on movements of people from seven specific countries. Interestingly, the only country mentioned by name in the order is Syria. Seth Frantzman also noticed this and dug a millimetre deeper than the entire rest of the press:

Go back and read it again. Do a “ctrl-f” to find “Iraq”. Where is “Iraq” in the order. It’s not there. Only Syria is there. So where are the seven nations? Where is the “Muslim ban”? It turns out this was a form of fake news, or alternative facts. Trump didn’t select seven “Muslim-majority” countries. US President Barack Obama’s administration selected these seven Muslim-majority countries.

The Department of Homeland Security targeted these seven countries over the last few years as countries of concern. In February 2016, “the Department of Homeland Security today announced that it is continuing its implementation of the Visa Waiver Program Improvement and Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015 with the addition of Libya, Somalia, and Yemen as three countries of concern, limiting Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals who have traveled to these countries.” It noted “the three additional countries designated today join Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Syria as countries subject to restrictions for Visa Waiver Program travel for certain individuals.” [read the rest]

Central to what the press and the usual grievance mongers (CAIR, ACLU, ADL and the usual alphabet soup of far left groups) are doing is to draw a false analogy between refugees from the Middle East today and Jews who tried to flee the genocide of the Nazis. Signing the order on International Holocaust Memorial day (and making a mistake by not specifically mentioning Jews) ensured that the press would jump on this bandwagon. This is done with carefully constructed (sometimes faked) photographs, especially of children. Dead child on a beach and dazed child in a hospital: I don’t even need to include photos, these are etched into your heads.

Back when I wrote about this in September 2015, I pointed out the enormity of this false equivalence.

So I was just wondering if I could ask something of all those people quick to claim that Syrian refugees are the new 1930’s Jews.

UNHCR persons of concern refugee numberFor those Jews who managed to escape Nazi Germany, where were the refugee camps, like the ones in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan today hosting 4,088,099 registered refugees (6th Sept). Because I’ve never heard anyone mention them. I’m sure a lot of Jews must have been saved in those camps.

As far as I know, in 1939 there were precisely zero Jewish countries and zero safe and secure refugee camps. I suspect if there had been a Jewish country or even a refugee camp it would have taken in some refugees. Worse: the major nations of the world, especially Britain, blocked Jews from reaching safety and sent them back to be murdered by Hitler.

Interestingly, the UNHCR “Persons of concern” website where I got my numbers from doesn’t seem to be working right now, so I can’t check for new numbers. The main number still stands: there were no refugee camps for Jews in 1939 and there are today many millions of Muslim refugees in (relatively) safe camps across the Middle East.

What has changed since I wrote that post is the seething societal problems currently ripping apart Europe. Every European nation that has accepted refugees is going through huge internal upheavals. I scarcely need to enumerate the problems, ranging from mass groping all the way up to huge mass casualty terror attacks in Nice, Berlin, Paris and elsewhere. Additionally, also since I wrote about the false equivalence, the UK voted to leave Europe and controlling immigration was one of the big factors in that.

President-elect Donald Trump will reportedly outlaw the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States.

Trump’s foreign policy adviser Walid Pheres told the Egyptian news site Youm 7 that Trump will back a bill introduced a year ago by U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and that was held up by the Obama administration due to its support for the Islamist organization.

Cruz proposed not only to ban the Muslim Brotherhood but also its offshoots, the Council on American-Islamic Relations and Islamic Society of North America.

cair-ohioThe Columbus, Ohio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is soliciting the public for any perceived instances of Islamic hate, with assurances of support from the local media and city lawmakers.

The appeal comes on the heels of a landslide electoral victory for Donald Trump, whose administration CAIR believes will be “packed with anti-Muslim bigots.” CAIR Columbus has stated that verbal assaults against Muslims have risen exponentially since Trump became the president-elect.

The allegations of Trump-inspired hate, coordinated and reported directly by CAIR and often without any corresponding police reporting, come as Trump indicates support for a bill that will ostensibly name the Muslim Brotherhood, with which CAIR has been linked, as a terrorist group.

CAIR enjoys the complicity of the city of Columbus in its campaign to highlight Islamophobia. City council members did CAIR’s bidding by passing a resolution condemning Islamophobia.

Even Ohio State University, the pride of Columbus and a huge influence on local politics, has bowed to prevailing trends and added its support to CAIR. When CAIR complained of two incidents in which women wearing head scarves were allegedly threatened on campus, Ohio State President Michael Drake responded by publishing an open letter condemning such assaults. Yet criminal charges were not filed in either case, and it appears that only one of the victims was an actual student at the university.

A virtual immigration nexus exists between Columbus and Somalia that has led to the fact that now the Midwestern town houses the country’s second largest concentration of Somalis. Since then, Columbus has been no stranger to terrorist activity.

CAIR Columbus supporters have expressed outrage over the conviction and imprisonment of local Muslims who in 2002 plotted to bomb a Columbus-area mall. Nuradin Abdi, Iyman Faris, and Christopher Paul are known al-Qaeda operatives who each served time for their participation in plots that targeted a variety of public gathering places around the country and in Ohio.

On February 11, 2016, local Somali Mohamed Barry attacked four people at a Columbus establishment, the Nazareth Restaurant. CBS News and many other media outlets were quick to call the assault a “lone wolf terrorist attack” in an attempt to distinguish Barry from other violent Islamic jihadists. Journalists refused to name a motive for the attacks, even though Barry returned to the restaurant and began attacking customers with a machete after he was told, upon inquiring, that the owner hailed from Israel.

CAIR has been extremely successful in Ohio and elsewhere at dissuading the public from associating Islam with terror attacks. Barry was given the benefit of the doubt by the media regarding his intentions, though the same cannot be said of allegations of attacks initiated by Muslims. These receive the weakest attention and scrutiny from not just the mainstream media, but also from the the highest political office in the land. President Barack Obama urged the nation to show restraint to Muslims following the San Bernardino massacre that killed 14 Americans in December of 2015.

From the Oval Office, Obama went to great lengths to distinguish the Muslim killers in California from the greater Muslim American population. “But it is clear that the two of them had gone down the dark path of radicalization, embracing a perverted interpretation of Islam that calls for war against America and the West,” he said.

Obama’s response was similar following an attack at an LGBT night club in Orlando that left scores dead or wounded. He urged stricter gun laws while ignoring the radicalized Islamic element of the attack. Here, again, the media emphasized that the attacker was a lone wolf, isolated from any greater Islamic influence.

Many of the accusations of hate crimes against Muslims are later proven to be fabricated. Dozens of such cases reported by CAIR over the last year are random attacks unrelated to religion, examples of Muslim on Muslim crime, or even invented purely for political or monetary gain. A complete list of these false allegations, “Islamofauxbia,” can be found here.

FBI statistics show that the majority of crimes inspired by hatred of a particular religious group are aimed at Jews. While nearly 57 percent of these assaults affect America’s Jewish population, Muslims are the victims of a mere 16 percent of these crimes.

Staff attorney and Ohio CAIR spokesman Roman Iqbal states: “We are alarmed by the nationwide rise in anti-Muslim hate crimes. We hope law-enforcement authorities follow up on this and all other alleged hate crimes targeting American Muslims.”

Local law enforcement is unlikely to respond as CAIR demands. In 2009, the Columbus Police Department cut ties with CAIR after previously using the organization to teach “cultural diversity” courses throughout the department. The founders of CAIR, Omar Ahmad and Nihad Awad, are listed as members of the Palestine Committee, a network of prominent Muslims that have provided material support to Hamas-an act made illegal for Americans in 1995. The CPD additionally cut ties because of CAIR’s fundraising campaigns for convicted cop killer Jamil Al-Amin.

Ahmad is on record stating a desire to see Sharia law instituted in America.

National and global organizations have joined in the condemnation of CAIR. The FBI also no longer consults with CAIR, and the United Arab Emirates lists the Islamic group as a terrorist organization.

For its part, CAIR has lashed back against the CPD. The group has a pending complaint before the Ohio Civil Rights Commission alleging that the CPD committed employment discrimination by their refusal to allow female Muslim police officers to wear their religiously-sanctioned headgear while on duty.

Local news sources in Columbus seem to be as concerned with attacks that have yet to occur as they are with alleged incidences of hate reported by CAIR. NBC4 reported recently that “Sahra Ahmed, a graduate student at OSU, says she has never been harassed [but] says she does worry a bit more now.”

Many Americans that do not outright identify CAIR as a terrorist group are upset that Islamic voices are not more vocal at condemning instances of international terrorism perpetrated by Muslims.

This is a sentiment that CAIR understands. Iqbal says he agrees that a small minority of extremists have targeted Muslims with threats, though he believes that “the good people have to speak up and say ‘no’ to these perpetrators, that this is not acceptable, that Muslims are your neighbors, your colleagues…”

The irony of this statement appears to be lost on Iqbal and his CAIR associates. Attempts to reach Columbus CAIR for comment regarding this exposé were ignored.
