Victor, a 49-year-old urban planner who says she does support Black Lives Matter, adds that the group went about their activism entirely in the wrong way, insisting that it's "never OK to coerce people's participation."

"That is just bullying," she adds.

"When [protesters] crowded around my table and started demanding that I raise my fist, it was their insistence that I participate in something that I did not understand that led me to withhold my hand," Victor explains. "In retrospect, I would have done the same thing even if it was crystal clear to me who they were and what they stood for. If you want my support, ask it of me freely. That's what we do in a democracy."

Sometimes 'those thing turn on a dime'
At the time, Victor initially admitted, "I felt I was under attack."

"To have a crowd — with all that energy — demand that you do this thing," Victor added. "On one level my best guess was no one was going to hurt me but those things turn on a dime."

JERUSALEM -- An excavation in Jerusalem Walls National Park that yielded a rare stamp and seal impression dating back to the Persian era is stated to provide evidence for the restoration of Jerusalem during the times of Ezra and Nehemiah, as chronicled in the Scriptures. "The finding of the stamp and seal impression in the City of David indicates that despite the city’s dire situation after the destruction, efforts were made to restore the administrative authorities to normal, and its residents continued to use the structures that were destroyed partly,” stated Prof. Yuval Gadot of the Department of Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Cultures at Tel Aviv University, and Dr. Yiftah Shalev, of the Israel Antiquities Authority.

The Antiquities Authority recently announced the discovery, which was uncovered in the Givati parking lot area of the National Park next to rubble from a structure razed during the Babylonian destruction of Jerusalem.

(Article18) — At least 10 of the more than a dozen Christian converts arrested two weeks ago in raids on their homes and house-churches have been charged with “acting against national security by promoting Zionist Christianity.”
 
Article18 reported earlier this month that at least 13 Christians were arrested in a coordinated operation on the evening of June 30 and the morning of July 1 in Tehran, its sister city Karaj, and Malayer, 400km southwest of Tehran.
 
The number of confirmed arrests has now risen to 17.
 
Of those arrested, eight have been released on bail, four remain detained, one has been released without charge, and another four have been released pending a decision on their case.

Mike Pence is a Bible-believing Christian. He’s also leading the national response to the imminent coronavirus pandemic. Those things aren’t mutually exclusive.
Much like former President Barack Obama tapped his vice president, Joe Biden, to lead an effort to eradicate cancer, President Donald Trump has appointed his vice president, Pence, to helm the U.S. response to the spread of COVID-19.
Jimmy Kimmel Takes Shots at Mike Pence’s Christian Faith in Joke About Coronavirus
Neither Biden nor Pence are leaders in scientific research. One man, though, Pence, has made his faith central to who he is — often describing himself as “a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, in that order.”
It should be no wonder, then, that one of the first ways the vice president has responded to his role in combating the coronavirus is to pray.

Just as unsurprising has been the (bigoted) backlash Pence has received for turning to God for wisdom in the face of what could, for some, present a dangerous reality, should they be exposed to the virus.

The hateful attacks on Pence’s convictions immediately begged the question: Wouldn’t it be more concerning if you knew someone believed in an all-powerful, all-loving God and chose not to petition Him for wisdom, guidance, and healing?

It’s also really clear the bad faith attacks on Pence are motivated by a disdain for the former Indiana governor’s personal faith and conservative ideals.

Mike Pence and his coronavirus emergency team praying for a solution. We are so screwed.
The mischaracterization of Pence’s goal in praying is clear. He is not trying to “pray away” the coronavirus, as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who is running for the Democratic presidential nomination, has suggested. Instead, he’s praying to God for wisdom regarding how the government should combat the coronavirus.

One journalist, Matt Novak, further suggested science and faith can’t coexist. He tweeted how “odd” he found it to see Pence praying alongside people like Dr. Robert R. Redfield, director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Mike Pence can pray whenever he likes, but I do find it odd to see him leading a prayer during a meeting of the coronavirus task force with people like the head of the CDC and Dr. Fauci.

The fact that the vice president is strategizing with medical experts like Fauci and Redfield clearly shows he’s not so naive to just “pray away” COVID-19. At the same time, how thoughtless and irresponsible would it be for a man like Pence, who believes God to be completely sovereign, to not invite Him into the decision-making process?

If you want to criticize Pence — fine, be my guest. But don’t pretend like the attacks on his faith are anything but that: attacks on his faith.

When faced with the spread of a virus for which there isn’t yet a vaccine (though one is on the way, thanks to Israel), you should want those in leadership to use every tool in their arsenal to act wisely and deliberately.

Pence is a Bible-believing Christian, and he’s leading the national response to the imminent coronavirus pandemic. And I’m glad he’s praying about it.
