Focus: Can you lose your healing?

I don't know about any scriptural readings on it, but I do believe that you can lose your healing too!

Well, I knew a lady with ankylosing spongilitis who was healed at a healing service. It lasted for about two months, and then she began to feel ill again, and slowly at first, but then rapidly, her health deteriorated.
I think it was because she really didn't have the faith to believe that the healing would be permanent. Initially of course she did have it, but then I believe she began to have nagging doubts, which grew and grew.
I believe that if we are healed, we must believe that we are healed for good, and that God has healed us completely.

I'm a little uncertain here whether you mean healing as in a gift of the Spirit.....will God take our gift of healing away?... or are you referring to when we have been healed we can suffer from the affliction again?

I agree with you not necessarily from the scripture you chose I even need to study and look up but....

I believe we can lose all gifts from God. He say's that the greatest gift of all is love and that all knowledge can pass away. 1 Corinthians 13:1~9 can tell it better than I can. I think it is just saying that unless we love everyone all these other gifts mean nothing and can be taken away. We can only use gifts if the love is used with the gifts.

Joni is an epistle to us of one who trusts God "blessed are those who have not seen and yet believed."

Like you I have witnessed healing miracle, not as the spectators looked on waiting for the wham bam!
but in quiet simplicity of prayer in a corner of a room and the following day my Mum woke to find herself healed of crippling arthritis and remained healed til the Lord took her home.

There is much speculation about Paul the apostles "thorn" who several times asked the Lord to remove but His grace is sufficient.

I wonder of Joni would have had such a wonderful walk with the Lord over so many years if she had been miraculously healed?

The 'health and prosperity' purveyors who so often con the naive with alleged miracles have no answer to God actully giving grace to people as a testimony of His power. People like Joni have a real testimony to the grace of God rather than those who push people down hard to make them appear 'slain in the Spirit' as happened recently in S W England or claim miracles when once the endorphin rush has happened turn out to have been false but of course you never seem to get statistics 6 months on nor do you see the way the really ill are not allowed into some of these so called 'healing' conventions.

Thank God He does heal people today and I have witnessed true healings but thank God too that those whose lot is to endure suffering are people of equal faith and loved by God.

Trevor and I did a reply on Devotional Board in msn wwc with regard to post Joni & Friends which got me thinking more about it.
I believe a good topic to focus on.
