The chilling night when 20,000 Americans celebrated the rise of Nazism
chilling-americans-nazism-email
People like to believe that all of America was against the rise of Nazism in 1939. But as Hitler was building death camps, 20,000 Americans celebrated him in Madison Sqaure Garden - right in the middle of New York City. And they did it in a frightening way using American symbolism. Many don’t know about this event, and here is the chilling footage.
Steven Burg
This is one of the scariest clips I have ever seen. It is a rally held in 1939 in support of the Nazi Party. 20,000 people attended. Where was it held? Madison Square Garden!!!
Everyone is telling us Jews we are being paranoid about the resurgence of antisemitism in America. That Congresswoman Omar just misspoke and did not mean to question our loyalty to America. Yet she kept repeating the refrain in different venues. Jews have learned to take someone at their word.

Everyone is telling us Jews we are being paranoid about the resurgence of antisemitism in America. That Congresswoman Omar just misspoke and did not mean to question our loyalty to America. Yet she kept repeating the refrain in different venues. Jews have learned to take someone at their word.

The questioning of our loyalty in a country has ALWAYS been the first step. I was hurt by Speaker Nancy Pelosi explaining away Representative Omar’s questioning our patriotism as “she just didn’t understand what she was saying”.

I believe that Omar knew exactly what she was saying. Adolf Hitler made the same claims in Mein Kampf accusing us of dual loyalty. Then he killed 6 million of our brothers and sisters.

That sacrifice was questioned by Majority Whip Jim Clyburn earlier this week. I do not recognize the Democratic Party anymore and find myself deeply hurt. I say this as an elected Democrat, member of the Democratic County Committee and a life long Democrat. I don’t know that I can in good conscience stay within a party that is suspect of my loyalty to this amazing country.

My children’s grandfather fought in the US Army. I have loved and worked to build this country all of my life. I spent years training Police Officers to do their job in a more tolerant and kind way. I feel for the first time in my lifetime that perhaps “my kind” is not wanted here anymore. The hurt runs deep. I hope the Democratic Party can come to its senses and understand that when someone like Congresswoman Omar comes for the Jews, we are only her first stop.
America: Freedom of Speech
America was founded in 1776, with the deceleration of Independence. This was after the war with Great Britain, thus started the American Revolution. Freedom of speech and expression is protected by the constitution of the United States. The Bill of rights limits the power of the federal government. The citizens of the United States have the right to speak their mind and voice their opinion. Knowing this, many citizens feel they can protest against the government and the press can print freely.

Nazism
Hitler was a soldier for Germany in the first World War. He was very angry about the after math of the War and how Germany was treated. He slowly made his way into politics and joined the Nazi Socialist German Workers Party. In 1933 he was elected as leader and won, he was now Prime Minister of Germany. Hitler, now in power wanted to get pay back for how Germany was treated after World War 1. He spoke out against the Jews, and how he wanted to cleanse Germany. He wanted to regain territory that the Germans lost during World War 1. Hitler said that Germany’s problem was the Jews.

Madison Garden 1939
Madison Square Garden located in New York City was a place where they held a rally for allegiance with the Nazi Party in February 1939. The man speaking says even in America cleanse the people. Be rid of the Jews, who control the media and the business world. There needs to be one race in the US. These statements sounded exactly like Hitler was saying in Europe.

A country that has so much freedom of speech can have repercussions. There can be so much speech of hate that goes on, right under the nose of the government. But these protesters know , that they are protected by the bill of rights, the constitution of the United States.

Trump Blasts Omar as ‘Anti-Semitic’ and ‘Anti-Israel’

US President Donald Trump slammed Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) on Monday as “anti-Semitic” and “anti-Israel” amid Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) coming to her defense in response to the president tweeting a video, criticizing Omar for saying that the 9/11 attacks as “some people did something.”
“Before Nancy, who has lost all control of Congress and is getting nothing done, decides to defend her leader, Rep. Omar, she should look at the anti-Semitic, anti-Israel and ungrateful U.S. HATE statements Omar has made. She is out of control, except for her control of Nancy!” he tweeted.
Pelosi announced on Sunday that U.S. Capitol Police and the House sergeant-at-arms “are conducting a security assessment to safeguard” Omar, her family and staff.
Omar made her 9/11 remark while addressing the Council on American-Islamic Relations’s Greater Los Angeles branch last month.

Since being in Congress, Omar has repeatedly made anti-Semitic and anti-Israel statements, including blaming the American Israel Public Affairs committee of paying politicians to support their pro-Israel agenda, leading to a passed resolution condemning anti-Semitism and other forms of hatred that did not call out Omar by name.

https://israelunwired.com/the-speech-about-israel-that-everyone-needs-to-hear/
In a world where many people have it so wrong about the Jewish state, Charlie Kirk has it so right. His speech about Israel nailed it. This is gold!
Charlie Kirk Speaking in Jerusalem
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaGYdqNSLU8
Charlie Kirk’s Speech about Israel
This is too perfect. Charlie Kirk’s speech about Israel addressed so many important points in under five minutes. That is not an easy thing to accomplish! He said things in such a matter-of-fact way, because well – it is. The truth about Israel is really about the facts. That is what he is trying to get people to realize. That is why he is advocating for the Jewish state – because of the facts. Israel is moral, Israel belongs to the Jewish people, Israel is not an apartheid state, and Israel does not want war. He went and saw everything with his own eyes.
Advocating for Israel
Not only did Charlie Kirk give a booming speech about Israel, but he promised to go back to America and advocate for the Jewish state. And THAT is key. It is definitely important for people to have positive views toward Israel. But it is that much more important to share those views with the world. College campuses across America and the world are filled with hatred against the one tiny Jewish state. Of course, all of their hatred is based on lies. But who will defend Israel on those campuses?

Kirk ends his speech with “we have your back.” Such a seemingly small comment, yet it holds so much weight. The more people that have Israel’s back, the stronger Israel’s public image will be. It is not easy to defend Israel in a world where so many are swimming against you. But it is the right thing. It is the moral thing. And at the end of the day, what is right and moral will prevail over the wrong and wicked. The question is: Which side will you be on?

German Paper Attacks Netanyahu with Nazi Reference, Blames ‘Historical Amnesia’
 https://unitedwithisrael.org/german-paper-attacks-netanyahu-with-nazi-reference-blames-historical-amnesia/?
Referring to the Israeli prime minister as “The Eternal Netanyahu,” a German news source appeared to reference Nazi anti-Semitic propaganda film “The Eternal Jew.”
By: United with Israel Staff

On Thursday, the Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper published a piece entitled “The Eternal Neteanyahu,” making an apparent reference to Fritz Hippler’s anti-Semitic 1940 propaganda film “The Eternal Jew.”

Hippler’s movie, which was produced for all intents and purposes by Hitler’s minister of propaganda Joseph Goebbels, rehashed Jew-hatred based on medieval superstitions, repackaging it for the German people as the moral justification for the Holocaust.

The movie is almost universally recognized as one of the most anti-Semitic films ever made.

After Tuesdays elections in Israel, Netanyahu appears headed for his fifth term as prime minister, which was ostensibly the impetus for the Frankfurter Rundschau article.

The Frankfurter Rundschau was skewered on Twitter after posting the anti-Netanyahu piece, facing accusations of anti-Semitism and pandering to its left-leaning base of social democrats, the Jerusalem Post reported.

Eventually, the Frankfurter Rundschau recanted, issuing the following statement: “The first version of the title of our editorial on Israel’s election results provoked a controversy – and rightly so. We wanted to point to the term of office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – and we did not consider that the Nazis in 1940 with the ant-Semitic propaganda film ‘The Eternal Jew’ agitated against Jews,” reported the Post.

The paper added, “The FR apologizes for the historical amnesia.”

There are many Palestinian Refugees, there are refugees from all over the World, looking for a different place to live. Many have sought out countries in Europe for help.
https://israelunwired.com/the-humane-way-to-solve-the-problem-of-palestinian-refugees/
Palestine
Palestine was the name given to the area of land, that we know today as Israel. The name is from ancient Roman times, Palaestina. The land is in a strategic location, both for Egypt, Syria, and Arabia. It has been the crossroads for religion, culture, commerce, and politics. The region has been controlled by numerous amounts of people. From the Egyptians to the Israelites, Greek to Rome, the Babylonians, the Ottomans, the British and now the Israelis.

Palestinian Refugees
Palestinian refugees not only refer to Arabs but to Jews as well. After all it was the region that was called Palestine, not the people. Refugees came about after the War of Independence in 1948, when Arabs and Jews alike were forced out of their homes and lost their livelihood.

Countries such as Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria, told Arabs living in Israel to leave. They were told the State of Israel would not last a week and soon they would be back in their homes. 70 years later the State of Israel is still standing and going strong.

After 1967, when Israel captured the Golan Heights and Judea and Samaria more Arabs fled to surrounding countries. Jordan could not cope with the population increase and up to this day, there are people living in refugee camps. Whereas the Arabs who stayed in Judea and Samaria have some sort of citizenship in Israel. Many refugees in Jordan do not have the same rights as a citizen.
Europe
Many refugees have left the middle east and are trying to gain citizenship in countries across Europe. The refugees that are seeking shelter in Europe are trying to escape conflict and are looking for a better life. They require basic humanitarian assistance, such as the provision of clean water, health care, emergency shelter, and legal aid.

The European Union have set up Emergency Support for those countries accepting refugees. Countries such as Greece, were overwhelmed by the amount of refugees they accepted and needed financial help supporting them.

Great video by Israeli actor and journalist Harel Noff.

Updated exit polls indicate Netanyahu headed for victory
Channel 12 and Channel 13 update their exit polls as the official ballots are counted.

Both networks’ revised samples indicate Netanyahu’s Likud will win 35 seats, compared to Blue and White’s 34.

The Channel 12 survey previously predicted 37 seats for Blue and White and 33 for Likud; Channel 13 had the two parties tied at 36.

Both exit polls now indicate that Shas would be the third-largest party with eight seats, followed by United Torah Judaism with 7. According to the TV stations, the New Right, Zehut and Gesher will fall under the electoral threshold.

In its breakdown of the political blocs, Channel 12 gives 63 of the 120 Knesset seats to the right, compared to 57 for the center-left, giving Netanyahu a clear path to forming a government. According to Channel 13, the right-wing bloc would receive 65 seats, compared to 55 for the center-left.

Hamas: Global Warming Launched Our Rockets
 https://unitedwithisrael.org/hamas-global-warming-launched-our-rockets/?utm_source=pushengage&utm_medium=pushnotification&utm_campaign=pushengage
The art of abdicating responsibility for the firing of rockets into Israel reached a level that only be described as something out of a Monty Python sketch as Hamas blamed weather conditions for their recent launching.
By Rolene Marks
Hamas, which is charged with governing the Gaza Strip, is responsible for the recent spate of rockets that have been fired towards Israeli territory in the last couple of weeks, culminating in a tense escalation.
On the 25th of March, a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip, reaching far into Israeli territory, decimating a house on Moshav Mishmeret and injuring a family of seven. Thirty other homes were damaged by shrapnel from the rockets. Israel threatened a strong response and bombed strategic targets in the Gaza strip, including the secret headquarters of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
No civilians were killed, which is testament to the conduct of the IDF to strike with pinpoint precision while doing the utmost, including warning with pamphlets, text messages and phone calls, to avoid any loss of life.

The response to this was another barrage of rockets into Israel’s southern communities.

While Hamas would rather have you believe that rockets are self-launching, it cannot detract from the important fact that it is responsible for bringing in rogue elements within the Gaza Strip and their inability to control other terror groups like Islamic Jihad that can plunge the volatile area into another war.

Islamic Jihad, like Hamas, is a proxy of Iran and the regime, aiming to gain a closer foothold to Israel is looking to Gaza to do this. Iran is using their proxies on both Israel’s Southern and northern borders to provoke a war. Hamas is in talks with Qatar and Egypt with regards to easing the humanitarian crisis in the Strip, but other groups are itching for a showdown with Israel.

This places Hamas in a bit of a quandary.  They don’t want to engage in a war with Israel (hence the epic excuses for their rockets launching) BUT still want to be seen at the vanguard of Palestinian resistance.

Hamas would also rather distract from growing protests in the Gaza Strip. Across this beleaguered patch, the citizens are taking to the street to protest that enough is enough. Enough with high taxes. Enough of high unemployment. Enough of poverty while the leaders of Hamas live the high life and using much needed international aid to fund their terrorist escapades. Journalists and human rights activists have been rounded up and tortured and Hamas goons have invaded people’s homes in attempts to squash these protests.

The leadership of Hamas has to show that they are still in control of the Strip – and while rockets are a distraction from their internal issues, they are reluctant to provoke Israel into a full-scale conflict, so they hedge their bets carefully when they strike. However, it appears they were not ready for Israel’s no-nonsense response.

As Israel approaches a crucial election that could very well be a game changer, Iran is wont to challenge the mettle of Israel. Could this be a tactic to disrupt the upcoming elections?

These dangerous cat and mouse games coincided with the one-year anniversary of the March of Return protests and annual Land Day commemoration. Over the past year, Hamas have encouraged thousands of Gazans to protest at the border with Gaza. These are NOT peaceful protests.

Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar, spoke of breaking through the border fence and “ripping the hearts out of the Jews.” Hardly Kumbaya, but rather a sinister call to murder. Sinwar’s words were backed by tires being burnt, creating an ecological disaster, Molotov cocktails and rocks being thrown at IDF troops, animals set alight and the launching of incendiary devices attacked to kites, balloons and kestrels. These incendiary devices burnt thousands of dunnams of valuable agricultural land and fauna and flora and constitute a war crime against Israel.
But it is all about the optics!

Netanyahu: I’ve told Trump I won’t evacuate ‘a single person’ from settlements

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had made clear to President Donald Trump that he is not prepared to evacuate “a single person” from any West Bank settlements.

When asked if he knew the details of Trump’s “Deal of the Century,” Netanyahu told Channel 13 in an interview broadcast Friday that he knew what he had told Trump to include in the agreement.

“I know what I said: I said there can’t be the removal of even one settlement, and [that Israel insists on] our continued control of all the territory to the west of the Jordan,” Netanyahu said.

Asked in the interview, which was recorded on Wednesday, whether he had specified this to Trump personally, Netanyahu said he had set out the same positions to Trump and former US President Barack Obama. He elaborated that he had specified to Trump that he would not evacuate “a single person” from the settlements.

“You said that to Trump?” he was asked.

“Like that,” he said, adding that it had been recorded.

Were the US plan to contradict those positions, he indicated, it would not be viable. “As far as I am concerned, [the evacuation of settlements] won’t be there [in the plan], and if it is [in the plan], it won’t [happen].”

Trump, he said, “is the best friend Israel has had” in the White House, and respects his position, “as I respect his,” when he insists on something.

When asked if he expected the US administration to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank like Trump recognized the Golan Heights last month, and why he wasn’t pressing Trump now to approve Israeli sovereignty over the settlements, Netanyahu said: “Wait until the next term.”

“All the settlements, without exception, those that are in blocs and those that aren’t, need to remain under Israeli sovereignty,” Netanyahu told interviewers Rani Rahav and Sharon Gal, adding that this would “eventually” happen.

Over 400,000 Jews live in West Bank settlements. Another 200,000-plus live in East Jerusalem neighborhoods annexed by Israel after the 1967 war.

The prime minister’s comments in the interview, which fly in the face of Palestinian demands for statehood in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, did not make immediate headlines in Israel. This may have been because it was broadcast at the start of Shabbat in a political chat show that preceded the main evening news, rather than in the main news broadcast. Netanyahu has taken an increasingly hard line against Palestinian statehood, having accepted the idea in principle in a 2009 speech.

Netanyahu highlighted his longtime personal connections to other world leaders in the interview, saying he speaks “eye-to-eye” with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and that these relationships would help Israel achieve peace in the region by keeping it in a position of power.

“Our neighbors, and the Iranians, hope to destroy us. The peace that you can get, it’s only from a position of power,” he said.

International interest and investment in Israel was growing, and other countries in the Middle East are moving to forge ties with Israel because of its strength, he said.

“The whole world is coming to us. Powerful world leaders — the president of China, Xi [Jinping], the president of India, [Narendra] Modi, a personal friend, the president of Japan, [Shinzo] Abe,” he said. (Modi and Abe are in fact the prime ministers of their respective countries.)

Netanyahu and his Likud party are in fierce competition with challenger Benny Gantz’s centrist Blue and White faction ahead of general elections on April 9.

Earlier Friday, a final pre-election poll put Likud dead even with challenger Blue and White with 28 seats apiece.

Overall, however, right-wing and religious parties received 66 seats in the poll, versus 54 for the center-left and Arab parties, mirroring the results of all major surveys released in recent days and again suggesting that Netanyahu will have an easier route to building a governing majority.

The survey, aired by Channel 13 news, was the last of the campaign for the 21st Knesset, with Israeli election law barring the publication of further polls after Friday.

Asked their preference for prime minister, 46 percent of poll respondents said Netanyahu, 37% said Gantz and 17% said they did not know.

Netanyahu told supporters Friday afternoon that the Israeli right “is in danger” of losing its grip on power following national elections on April 9, as most of the final polls released before Israelis head to the ballot box gave the rival Blue and White faction a lead over the premier’s ruling Likud party.

In a video posted to social media, the premier called on voters to “come back home to Likud,” warning that his rivals could “break the right-wing bloc.”

Speaking to Likud activists outside his official residence in Jerusalem, Netanyahu exhorted right-wing voters to back his party on election day, as opposed to other, smaller right-wing parties, warning that otherwise a “left-wing government” led by Blue and White would be established.

Antisemite Ariyana Love’s Interview With a Palestinian Goes Horribly Wrong For Her

For those who don’t know, Ariyana Love is a vile jew hater I have exposed here on Israellycool. My expose on her hit such a raw nerve, that she published libelous accusations against me and my wife, and sent them to my place of employment (with the assistance of fellow Jew-hater Brendon “Brendover” O’Connell). But as I said at the time and reiterate now, I don’t give in to threats and intimidation.

Be that as it may, the really-not-aptly-named Love recently interviewed a BDS-hole by the name of Younes Arar, who she invited on to bitch about Israel.

Bad move. She soon learned that as much as he hates Israel, his hatred for Hamas is even stronger.

With the help of Israellycool reader Tommy, I have distilled the best parts of this train wreck of an interview. Arar confirms many things we knew about Hamas, including:

Their extreme brutality against their own people
Hamas being in charge of the ‘March of Return’ and engaging in violence
The fact many of the so-called medics were really Hamas terrorists
Hamas being responsible for the devastation in Gaza
Hamas profiting off their own people

Note how Love is extremely uncomfortable listening to what Arar has to say about Hamas, but is polite to his face, pretending to have been enlightened by him. Yet, this is how she introduced the video on her Facebook wall

No mention of Hamas and a big disclaimer rejecting Arar’s views.

Such is the way of the intellectually dishonest antisemite – only motivated by hatred of the Jewish people and dismissive of anything that does not help their evil cause.
But there will always be people like me to use their own words and “work” against them. So thank you, Ariyana, for this gem of a video!

Ruth Bader Ginsburg made a rare public appearance at a Jewish synagogue in Washington, D.C. on Sunday.

Ginsburg attended a memorial service for the late Israeli writer Amoz Oz at Temple Sinai. The famously tenacious justice, who returned to the bench last month, was out of public view for weeks as she recovered from her December lung cancer surgery. The liberal icon’s health scares have attracted public attention and even encouraged some conspiracy mongering that she had in fact died.

RBG spotted at D.C. Temple
Ginsburg did not make any remarks or talk to the media at the event. She reportedly told Oz’s daughter, Fania Oz-Salzberger, that she went to the memorial because she liked her father’s writing.

Fania Oz-Salzberger shared a picture of her and Ginsburg on Twitter. Ginsburg reportedly listened to speeches from Oz-Salzberger, New York Times columnist Roger Cohen and Jeremy Ben Ami, founder of progressive lobby J Street, which helped organize the memorial along with the New Israel Fund and Americans for Peace Now.

Some weird tweeters insist, or hope, this pic is photoshopped.
But the wonderful Ruth Bader Ginsburg did indeed attend the DC memorial for my dad, Amos Oz, and gave me a warm hug. More pics to be published soon.

Oz died of cancer in December. Ginsburg herself had two cancerous nodules removed from her lungs that same month, and she eventually returned to the Supreme Court in February after several weeks of recovery.

Ginsburg was spotted on camera in February for the first time since her surgery while walking through Reagan National Airport. A reporter for TMZ asked Ginsburg how she was doing.

“I’m doing fine,” she replied simply.

Ginsburg back, but Trump “saving” replacement
The synagogue appearance came not long after Ginsburg returned to the bench after having missed oral arguments for the first time in her career. Her recent health woes have been cause for concern among progressives who fear that president Donald Trump will get a chance to appoint her successor, but the famously tenacious judge returned to work with a vengeance as she issued opinions at an aggressive clip.

Although it looks like RBG isn’t going anywhere, President Trump reportedly already has his mind made up as to her replacement. Axios reported that Trump was “saving” Judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill Ginsburg’s seat back when he was pondering who should succeed retired justice Anthony Kennedy in July. Barrett was a favorite with conservatives at the time, but Trump nominated Brett Kavanaugh, who was confirmed to the court in October.

“I’m saving her for Ginsburg,” Trump reportedly said of Barrett at the time.

Progressives have expressed hostility at the prospect of Barrett’s appointment given her pro-life views. It would be quite a jarring event indeed for liberals if RBG, an icon to the abortion movement, was succeeded on the bench by a pro-life Catholic

Justice Ginsburg, endearingly referred to by fans as “the Notorious RBG,” is widely cherished by progressives for her work in advancing leftist causes, so much so that Sam Adams recently honored her with a limited-edition IPA.

Israeli Jails on High Alert as Terrorist Prisoners Threaten Violence

Erdan has pledged to abide by international law but says that security prisoners deserve nothing better than what is required.

By: United With Israel Staff

The Israel Prison Service (IPS) is bracing for the latest violent protest by Palestinian terrorists held as security prisoners in Israeli jails.

Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan has made it a priority to crack down on the conditions enjoyed by the prisoners.

“This celebration is coming to an end,” Erdan said in January, vowing to end what he sees as luxurious conditions and partying enjoyed by security inmates.

It had started with such measures as preventing prisoners from watching soccer matches and has grown into greater surveillance and moves to cut off connections to the outside world.

The protests by the prisoners have also stepped up from purposely wasting water to violence.

The Hamas terror organization is fuming over inspections recently by wardens at the Ketziot prison that have uncovered the smuggling of illegal cell phones, enabling inmates to continue directing terror attacks long-distance. The IPS also installed, on a trial basis, a system that screens calls in both Ketziot and Rimon prisons, which would prevent prisoners from using unauthorized phones.

Hamas declarations have claimed that the new regulations constitute “the harshest attack on us in years. They’ve declared war on us; we won’t leave Ketziot [prisoners] isolated in the campaign. The fire will spread to all prisons,” Hamas has vowed.

Calling on their followers to support the inmates, they stated, “If we are to die – let us die as heroes.”

The IPS is preparing for attempts to destroy prison property and possible assaults on its staff, similar to the riots that took place recently at Ofer prison. During and after a search for contraband items, security prisoners set fire to mattresses and attacked guards, six of whom required hospital care.

A new protest by prisoners has been scheduled for Sunday, and Israeli authorities are on high alert.

Exacerbating the tensions are reports that Hamas and Israel, through Egyptian mediation, are working on a prisoner swap. Israel has dismissed the reports, saying that the talks are aimed only at reaching a cessation of Gaza-Israel violence.

The public security minister is adamant that the stricter measures in the jails must continue. Erdan has pledged to abide by international law but says that security prisoners deserve nothing better than what is required.

“Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire upon Sedom and Gomorrah…but [Lot’s] Wife looked back and she became a pillar of salt.”
–Genesis 19
Following the biblical recounting of Lot’s Wife who was turned into a pillar of salt, Israel’s Dead Sea region is now famous for a second salt phenomenon: Malham Cave, the world’s longest salt cave.
For 13 years, this title was held by Iran’s Cave of the Three Nudes (3N) on Qeshm Island.  Recently, however, an international expedition led by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HU)’s Cave Research Center, Israel Cave Explorers Club and Bulgaria’s Sofia Speleo Club, along with 80 cavers from nine countries, has successfully mapped the Malham salt cave in the Dead Sea’s Mount Sedom which, at 10 kilometers long, now bears the title of world’s longest salt cave.

The bitter rivalry between the Hamas terror group and Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party has become increasingly violent, with salvos launched on each side of the divide.

Fatah Central Committee Member Jamal Muhaisen recently declared that Hamas is a “terrorist movement” and that “even if it were to rehabilitate the people who were imprisoned or had their arms or legs broken, it would return to its old ways within a matter of months.”

Muhaisen made the comments during a TV interview amid Hamas’ brutal crackdown on economic protests in Gaza, during which hundreds of Palestinians have rioted in response to the repressive Hamas regime, which squanders millions on terror instead of allocating resources for the people’s basic needs.

Muhaisen referred to Hamas as “ISIS in Palestine,” referencing the Islamic group that once terrorized large swathes of Syria and Iraq.

The US will recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights on Monday, Vice President Mike Pence told the second day of the AIPAC annual conference in Washington.
Speaking in front of a packed audience and to rapturous applause, the Pence said that President Trump will later today, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by his side, “formally recognize” Israel’s right to the Golan Heights for the first time in 52 years.

He added that Israeli access to the Golan Heights “was critical to the strategic security of the state of Israel,” and praised Trump for being the US leader who “took action.”

The announcement comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin visits Washington on what was supposed to be a four-day visit to the US capital.
However, Netanyahu said Monday that he will return to Israel after a scheduled meeting with Trump, following a rocket attack from Gaza that stuck northern Tel Aviv in the early hours of Monday morning.

At AIPAC, Gantz vows to rid Israel’s leadership of racism, corruption
Blue and White leader says he won’t hesitate to ‘use force when needed’ against Iran; says Western Wall is ‘long enough for everyone’

WASHINGTON — Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz vowed to purge the Israeli government of corruption and racism should he be elected prime minister next month, while pledging he would “use force when needed” to stop Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and becoming a regional power.

Two weeks before the April 9 election, Gantz addressed roughly 18,000 people at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual confab on Monday in his first major address before an American audience.

He used the speech to castigate his rival, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for criminal charges that have cast a dark shadow on his premiership over the last two years, for which Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit announced last month that he would indict Netanyahu, pending a hearing.

Gantz, 59, also attacked the prime minister for a decision that was among his most incendiary for American Jews — his orchestrating a deal that allowed an anti-Arab extremist party, Otzma Yehudit, to become part of a right-wing alliance.

“There will be no radicals, from either side of the political map,” Gantz said. “There will be no ‘Kahanists’ running our country. There will be no racists leading our state institutions. There will be no corruption leading our way. No corruption whatsoever!”

Netanyahu had directed the agreement between Otzma Yehudit and the Union of Right Wing Parties in a bid to boost his future right-wing coalition. The Supreme Court, however, disqualified Otzma Yehudit’s top candidate, Michael Ben Ari, on the grounds of incitement to racism. An election panel has also barred Otzma Yehudit’s second candidate, Itamar Ben Gvir, from moving up on the URWP slate after Ben Ari was prevented from running.

In his speech, the former IDF chief of staff made light of the controversy ensnaring his campaign in recent weeks — the revelations that Iranians hacked his cellphone — while making a firm promise to confront Tehran and prevent it from building nuclear weapons or destabilizing the Middle East.

“We will not tolerate anti-Semitism,” he said. “And that is why, I say from this stage to the Iranian regime: Never again.”

“We will not allow you to establish yourselves in Syria,” he continued. “We will not allow you to develop a nuclear weapon. You know me well, and not because of my cellphone,” he said of Iran, to which the audience responded with tepid laughter.  “On my watch Iran will not become a regional power. And I will not hesitate to use force when needed.”

Without mentioning US President Donald Trump’s announcement on Thursday that it was time to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which analysts have said is a major boost to Netanyahu’s reelection bid, Gantz said Israel would not relinquish the territory.

“We will never withdraw from the Golan Heights,” he said. “Never.”

Gantz’s speech came hours after Hamas rockets were fired into central Israel, striking a home and injuring seven people, including two small children.

Netanyahu was slated to address the AIPAC Policy Conference on Tuesday, but will head back to Israel on Monday after his meeting with Trump because of the security situation. Gantz said he would head back as well.

“The strong, resilient people of our nation, are attacked yet again, forced to live with constant reminders of our enemies hate, and unwillingness for change,” Gantz said. “This hate, fueling a century old conflict, may be the only thing our enemies want to enhance, because this hate, this misery, is all they live for.”
“I will return to Israel,” he went on, “to stand and, if needed, to fight in defense of my people, our people.”

The Israeli general also took aim at Netanyahu’s reversing his own agreement to establish an egalitarian prayer space at the Western Wall, a decision that infuriated the organized Jewish community in the US, especially leaders of the Reform and Conservative movements.
“Unity: That is the secret weapon of the Jewish nation,” Gantz said. “Our ability to stand united should not be taken for granted. In Bergen-Belsen no one asked, who is Reform and who is Conservative? Who is Orthodox and who is secular? Before going into battle I never checked to see who had a kippa under their helmet.

“The divisive dialogue tearing our strong nation apart, may serve political purposes, but is shredding the fabric that holds us together,” he added. “As a proud owner of a red beret, worn by the liberators of the Kotel [Western Wall], I can tell you with confidence that the Western Wall is long enough to accommodate everyone. Everyone!”

Earlier this month, Gantz’s Blue and White party included a provision in its platform saying it would implement the currently frozen deal to expand the pluralistic prayer pavilion at the Western Wall and establish a first-of-its-kind body made up of non-Orthodox Jewish leaders to oversee the site.
Recent polls have suggested Gantz’s Blue and White party is poised to receive more seats than any other party, though the surveys also suggested the centrist party would not be able to form a coalition.

Netanyahu vows to respond ‘forcefully’ to rocket attack, cuts short US trip
After expected Monday signing of US declaration on Golan at White House, PM will return to Israel ‘to oversee our response’ to Gaza attack

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cut short his trip to the United States on Monday after a rocket fired from Gaza struck a residential building in central Israel early Monday morning, injuring seven people, including two infants, and leveling the structure.

“A few minutes ago I finished a briefing and consultation with the chief of staff [of the IDF], the head of the Shin Bet and the national security adviser,” Netanyahu said in a hastily released video from Washington. “This was a criminal attack on Israel and we will respond forcefully,” he vowed.
He said he would stay in Washington just long enough to meet US President Donald Trump on Monday morning local time, “and immediately afterward return to Israel to oversee our response first-hand.”

The prime minister is to meet Trump at the White House on Monday for the expected signing of an order recognizing Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

He will also conduct a “working meeting” with Trump, which will focus on “Iranian aggression, Iran’s attempts to establish military bases in Syria, and how to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons,” according to an earlier statement from the Prime Minister’s Office. “The two will also discuss strengthening security and intelligence cooperation.”

Netanyahu was set to address some 18,000 people at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee annual policy conference in Washington on Tuesday morning, and in the evening was due to attend a dinner at the White House.

In Netanyahu’s absence — in keeping with an Israeli law that says a prime minister or an acting replacement must always remain on Israeli soil to lead cabinet meetings if the PM is detained abroad — Tourism Minister Yariv Levin is currently the temporary acting prime minister. Since Levin is not a member of the cabinet’s national security committee, the so-called “security cabinet,” however, before he left for Washington Netanyahu appointed Absorption Minister Yoav Galant, who is, to lead the body in charge of authorizing military operations in his stead.

Netanyahu’s decision to return to Israel followed criticism from election rivals in the hours after the attack.

Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz called on Netanyahu to immediately return to Israel and deal with the security situation. Other lawmakers also called for stern action against Hamas, the de facto rulers of Gaza, in response to the rocket fire.

“Netanyahu has lost his grip on security and Israeli citizens are again facing sirens and a direct hit on a house, this time in the Sharon [region],” Gantz said in a statement.

The attack triggered air raid sirens at approximately 5:20 a.m. throughout the Sharon and Emek Hefer regions north of Tel Aviv, the army said. According to the military, the rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip, where earlier this month two rockets were also fired at Tel Aviv, in what was described at the time as an apparent “mistake” by the Hamas terror group.

“This is bankruptcy when it comes to security, and Netanyahu needs to pack up immediately and go back to Israel to deal with this serious escalation,” Gantz said. “Will he still be satisfied with Hamas’s announcement of a mistake or will he finally concentrate on the security of the country’s citizens and not on his legal troubles? Someone who doesn’t respond aggressively and forcefully, and pays protection money to Hamas, will get rockets on the Sharon.”

A rocket fired from the Gaza Strip struck a residential building in central Israel early Monday morning, injuring seven people, including two infants, and leveling the structure, officials said.

The Iron Dome missile defense system did not appear to have been activated by the rocket attack. The military said it was still investigating the matter.

Police said the projectile early Monday struck a residential building in the community of Mishmeret, on the Sharon plain, causing it to catch fire. The shrapnel from the rocket attack also caused significant damage to the surrounding area, as fragments hit a gas tank outside the building.

Drone footage of the site showed that the majority of the structure, which contained two housing units, had been flattened by the strike.

There are fears that violence will ramp up this week, with Hamas hoping to draw hundreds of thousands of rioters to the fence over the weekend to mark a year of so-called March of Return protests, which began March 30, 2018.

Firefighters and search-and-rescue workers arrived at the scene to extinguish the blaze caused by the rocket and look for any survivors who might be trapped in the destroyed building, the fire department said.

The rocket is believed to have been fired from the Rafah area in southern Gaza, approximately 100 kilometers (60 miles) from Mishmeret, making it the farthest reaching attack from the enclave since the 2014 Gaza war, during which projectiles reached as far north as the city of Haifa.

The distance of the attack and significant damage caused by the impact indicated that it was conducted by one of the larger terror groups in Gaza — either the Strip’s de facto rulers Hamas or the Iran-backed Palestinian Islamic Jihad — who have access to the types of long-range projectiles with heavy warheads necessary for such an attack.

Initial assessments of the attack indicated that a domestically produced rocket known as a J80 was likely used in the attack though this has yet to be confirmed.

As of 8 a.m. Monday, no terror groups in the enclave have taken responsibility for the rocket launch.

The Israeli military said it was investigating the source of the rocket attack.

There were no immediate reports of an Israeli military response.

Palestinian media reported that terror groups in the Strip began evacuating their positions and bases ahead of the Israeli airstrikes that were expected to follow the rocket attack.

Israel shuttered the Kerem Shalom and Erez crossings into the Gaza Strip on Monday morning, the Defense Ministry said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is currently in the United States for the AIPAC conference, was informed of the attack and planned to discuss the matter with the IDF chief of staff, national security adviser and other senior defense officials.

Netanyahu’s office said the prime minister was cutting his US trip short and returning to Israel in light of the attack, following a meeting with American President Donald Trump.

“There was a criminal attack on the State of Israel, and we will respond forcefully,” Netanyahu said in a statement.

“In a few hours, I will meet with President Trump and immediately afterwards I will return to Israel in order to oversee our activities.”

According to the Magen David Adom ambulance service, at least seven people who lived in the building were injured in the attack.

A 59-year-old woman was moderately injured in the attack, with light burns, shrapnel wounds and trauma from the blast. A 30-year-old woman was also moderately wounded, with shrapnel hitting her leg. The other people in the building — a 30-year-old man, 12-year-old girl, 3-year-old boy and 18-month-old baby — sustained light wounds, MDA said.

They were taken to Kfar Saba’s Meir Medical Center for treatment.

Several others in the area were treated for anxiety attacks and light injuries from falling while running to bomb shelters.

A dog belonging to one of the families in the building was also apparently killed in the rocket strike.

Schools in the Sharon region opened as usual Monday despite the attack, though the Education Ministry said teachers would hold a special session with students to discuss the issue.

Recent weeks have seen escalating tensions in the Gaza Strip, as its de facto rulers the Hamas terror group feuds with both Israel and the West Bank-based Palestinian Authority. Domestically, the terror group has also faced protests and increased criticism as humanitarian conditions in the Strip continue to deteriorate.

On March 14, two rockets from the Gaza Strip were fired at Tel Aviv, landing in open areas and causing no direct injury. In response, Israeli war planes hit over 100 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip later that night.

The following day, after a brief exchange of fire, both sides reportedly agreed to a ceasefire.

Israeli officials later said the Hamas rocket launch appeared to have been a “mistake” caused by low-level operatives accidentally pressing a launch button on projectiles that were preemptively aimed at Tel Aviv for use in future conflicts — though this explanation was not universally accepted in Jerusalem.

In the 11 days since the rocket attacks on Tel Aviv, terror groups in the Strip have stepped up violence along the Gaza border, launching dozens of balloon-borne incendiary and explosive devices into southern Israel and conducting nightly riots along the security fence that are meant to disrupt the lives of Israeli civilians living near Gaza and the soldiers stationed there.

On Sunday night, an Israeli tank targeted two Hamas posts along the Gaza border, following a number of cross-border attacks throughout the day, the military said.

That afternoon, a shepherd was lightly injured by a balloon-borne incendiary device flown, into southern Israel from the Gaza Strip, local authorities said.

A short while later, an explosive device that was also apparently flown into southern Israel from the Gaza Strip detonated in a community in the Sha’ar Hanegev region, causing neither injury nor damage, a regional spokesperson said.

On Saturday night, Israeli military aircraft bombed Hamas targets in Gaza after a rocket alarm sounded in some Israeli communities bordering the Strip, triggered by a powerful improvised bomb thrown at the border during late-night riots.

A Palestinian was killed by Israeli fire during the clashes early Sunday, authorities in the Strip said. The 24-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest and two others were wounded, the Hamas-run health ministry said.

Palestinian protesters take part in a night demonstration near the fence along the border with Israel, in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, on March 19, 2019. (SAID KHATIB / AFP)
On Friday, several thousand Palestinians took part in violent protests on the Gaza-Israel border, throwing explosive devices and rocks at Israeli soldiers who responded with tear gas and occasional live fire.

Israel says the demonstrations are orchestrated by Hamas in order to provide cover for the organization’s nefarious activities along the security fence, including infiltration attempts, the planting of explosives and attacks on Israeli soldiers.

Their organizers have said the protests aim to achieve the “return” of Palestinian refugees and their descendants to lands that are now part of Israel, and pressure the Jewish state to lift its restrictions on the movement of people and goods into and out of the coastal enclave.

Israeli officials say the return of Palestinian refugees and their descendants would destroy Israel’s Jewish character. They also maintain that the restrictions on movement are in place to prevent Hamas and other terrorist groups from smuggling weapons into the Strip.

Israel will respond with force to a rocket attack that hit a residential area north of Tel Aviv, injuring 7 people, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said after talking to top military brass.
The Jewish state will “respond forcefully” against Hamas after a rocket was launched from inside Gaza into Israel, Netanyahu said, according to local media. Shortly after the attack, he talked to the IDF chief of staff, as well as the head of Intelligence, who also saw it “as a criminal act against the State of Israel.”

Netanyahu said he will cut short his trip to the United States after the incident.

The projectile, fired early in the morning on Monday, hit a house in the residential Sharon area, northeast of Tel Aviv, leaving seven people wounded, including two infants who suffered light injuries, the emergency services reported.

Air-raid sirens sounded shortly before an explosion was heard in the area. The house caught fire and partially collapsed, but firefighters managed to quickly extinguish the flames as rescuers searched the rubble for survivors.

Top Israeli officials pinned the blame on Hamas, though no Palestinian group has claimed credit for the attack.

Nevertheless, senior Hamas figures have gone into hiding in anticipation of an Israeli response, according to Haaretz.

It is unclear what the Israeli response will be. Earlier in March, the IDF scrambled combat aircraft to bomb Gaza after two rockets reportedly fired from there targeted Tel Aviv. Explosions were reported in Khan Younis, on the south side of Gaza. The military said it was striking “terrorist targets.”

As the day progressed, two infantry brigades moved closer to the Gaza border, while some reserve units were mobilized, according to Israeli Army Radio.

The attack on Monday and Netanyahu’s remarks come two weeks ahead of a parliamentary election scheduled for April 9. The beleaguered prime minister faces potential indictment and one of the toughest elections in his political life

An Islamic America
America should be diverse. Everyone is different. That is the beauty of America. It is a free country, a democratic country. People flee to the United States because of everything it stands for.
But that is going to change if we do not stop what is coming. The Hamas-linked organization, CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) openly discussed its plan to create an Islamic America. They do not want Muslims in Congress for diversity but rather to take over the country. Little by little.

Is it Really a Secret?
The thing is that it is not really a secret. They are public about it. And the Muslims in Congress are not quiet about it either. They state their opinions. They openly associate themselves with anti-semites, with terrorist organizations like Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. But is America too blind to see this? Are Americans ignoring the truth because they are afraid of what is to come? Or are they just plain ignorant?

Listen to the way this CAIR representative speaks. Is it not terrifying? He talks about the slow takeover of Muslims in Congress, even taking over the presidency. You do not hear other religions speaking like this. And we cannot let it happen!

Naftali Bennett silences Palestinian Arab activist with one question

Palestinian Arab Activist Silenced
This Palestinian Arab activist tried to talk about the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement that aims to weaken the state of Israel. She tried to confidently say it would succeed and that it is growing and growing.

But Israeli politician Naftali Bennett came back with the perfect response. The way he listed just a few of the many inventions that Israel has gifted the world with was too good. Everyone uses Israeli inventions and technology, and so many do not even realize. Those who support the BDS movement are probably using something Israel created every single day, but they pretend to boycott Israel anyway. Bennett’s ending words are strong: “What did you bring to the world beyond suicide terrorists? What’s your invention?” The Palestinian Arab activist had nothing left to say.
BDS Logic is Irrational
It is really not logical what the BDS Movement is trying to accomplish. It is also impossible. Israel has given so much to the world; things that people basically cannot live without anymore. So the BDS Movement can try to boycott all of it, but they will not succeed. The activist in this video said they will, but they won’t.
But Israel, on the other hand, continues to succeed. They continue to give to the world. They continue to invent, create, and build. And ultimately, the BDS Movement will fail.

Israel’s perfect response to being banned from World Chess Championships
By Avi Abelow -  August 11, 2018 20645 0
A 7 year old Israeli girl was recently barred from participating in a chess championship in Tunisia. Only after much international pressure, the authorities relented and allowed the 7 year old Israeli girl to participate. This is another case, growing in number, of Israelis barred from international sport events. This is wrong on so many levels.

Sports above Politics
If there is anything that should unite us, it is sports.  Sports should unify people and overcome politics. Yet, time after time, countries bar Israeli athletes from events. In other cases, athletes from other countries are refusing to compete against Israelis, or shake their hands after a contest.

This is all unacceptable.

An Alternative
To battle this growing trend of racism and anti-semitism against Israeli athletes, Israel is organizing an alternative chess championship. It is planned to take place in September, with chess champions from all over the world participating.

Israel is What is Right
Some countries prefer to paint Israel as what is wrong in the world.  But in reality, Israel represent everything that is right in the world. Israel helps countries that experience natural disasters. Even enemies of Israel, like Syrians, receive tremendous amount of aid and assistance from Israel.
Every country has much to benefit by strengthening ties with Israel. The big losers of those situation where countries boycott Israel or Israeli athletes are the countries themselves.
Instead of growing from the tremendous amount of good that Israel can give to them, they hurt their own people and their own societies by instead shunning Israel.
Natan Sharansky
He is not merely the former Head of the Jewish Agency.  Sharansky is one of the greatest heroes of the 20th century.  He was the #1 icon for millions of Jews and freedom-lovers worldwide in the 1980’s.  His face was on placards at all protests when protesters fought to bring the iron curtain down.  It is hard to believe that just 25 years ago, there were millions of oppressed minorities in the Soviet Union.  Sharansky understands better than almost anyone in the world what racism and anti-semitism is all about.
Today, he serves as a symbol for freedom all over the world.

Just Like the Bible Says – Israel is Turning the Desert Into Paradise
By Phil Schneider -  March 22, 2019 5194 0
There are few places in the State of Israel that inspire a person more than the Temple Mount and the Western Wall. The Bible unravels in all of it’s beauty throughout the Land. However, when one travels south, one sees a wonder of a completely different kind. This is the dream of David Ben-Gurion that is coming true in front of our eyes. It is the prophecies of the prophets who foresaw that the Land of Israel would give fruit. Yes, out of a desert – there would be fruit and sustenance for the entire world.

Turning the Wilderness into a Flowering Paradise
“G-d will console Zion ..and He will make her wilderness like Eden and her desert like the garden of G-d. ” Isaiah prophesied and the prophecy is happening now.
It thrills me time and time again to see the Jewish People change from a people to a nation. For centuries Jews wandered to the far corners of the earth. They weren’t connected to land. In many countries they weren’t even allowed to own or cultivate the land. With the return of the Jewish people to their homeland, this vital connection was restored. We may be living in a hi-tech era but the connection to land remains a crucial part of being a nation. And thus a nation was reborn.
The verse actually tells us that this is a consolation for Zion. The return of the Jewish people gave Zion purpose. The land of Israel and the Nation of Israel’s destiny are intertwined together. If you watch the faces of the people in the video, you’ll be able to that spark of purpose and excitement. And maybe Zion’s spark of excitement is showing up in the incredible fruits and vegetables it’s producing.

The prophet Zechariah saw that in the future the streets of Jerusalem would have old people walking alongside children who play in it’s streets. This is fulfilled every day of the year. This and so many other prophecies are coming true in front of our eyes. If only we don’t shut our eyes from the miracles….

The real City Of David proves Israel’s critics wrong

Today, you can walk on the same exact stones that King David walked when he walked towards the location that would be the Temple. In 2004, they found the ancient pool of Silwan. It was probably the largest ritual bath that was used on the way up to the Temple.

There is even a podium from thousands of years ago where people could get up and speak to the masses at the pilgrimage.

The archaeology is simply astounding.

United Nations Condemn Jerusalem Archaeology?
There is a clear reason to oppose archaeology. The validation of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel – thousands of years ago – as it is today – is proven more than any other way by the City of David archaeology.

Mike Huckabee, a true friend of the State of Israel, understands that the ties between the United States and Israel are not merely ones of security and interests.

It is based on the Judaeo-Christian Ethics. These all go back to King David, the Bible, and the ancient Hebrew tradition that was based in Jerusalem and the Temple.

NY Times Rewrites History, Claiming Most Jaffa Arabs Expelled in 1948
what basis does The New York Times report that “most” of Jaffa’s Arabs were “forcibly removed”? What historical documentation substantiates this claim, contradicted by Arab eyewitnesses?

By Tamar Sternthal, JNS

On April 26, 1948, General Sir Alan Cunningham, the British High Commissioner for Palestine, wrote to Arthur Creech-Jones, the colonial secretary, about the mass flight of Palestine’s Arabs, singling out the port city of Jaffa:

“You should know that the collapsing Arab morale in Palestine is in some measure due to the increasing tendency to those who should be leading them to leave their country. For instance in Jaffa the Mayor went on 4 days leave 12 days ago and has not returned, and half the National Committee has left. In Haifa the Arab members of the municipality left some time ago, the two leaders of the Arab Liberation Army left actually during the recent battle. Now the Chief Arab Magistrate has left. In all parts of the country the effendi class has been evacuating in large numbers over a considerable period and the tempo is increasing.” (Cunningham Papers, 111/4/71, p. 189, cited in Efraim Karsh’s Fabricating Israeli History).

Fast-forward 71 years later. Contradicting both the High Commissioner and Jaffa Arabs who lived through the events, editors of The New York Times in Manhattan this past weekend rewrote history, stating in a travel article that appeared in yesterday’s print of “The Paper of Record”:

“In 1948, when the State of Israel was founded, most of Jaffa’s Arab residents were forcibly removed from their homes.” (“An Unexpected Pocket of Luxury in Tel Aviv,” March 17, 2019).The original digital version by Debra Kamin did not include this false claim. Rather, in response to criticism that the article initially ignored the city’s Arab history, editors revised the digital version, adding in this misinformation.

In addition, the following editor’s note, which was appended to the bottom of the article itself, also appeared not once, but twice, in print (in a slightly altered version), on March 17 as a correction (p. 4), and on March 16 as an Editors’ Note (p. 22):

“The original version of this article, in focusing exclusively on the high-end hotels and other additions, failed to touch on important aspects of Jaffa’s makeup and its history—in particular, the history and continuing presence of its Arab population and the expulsion of many residents in 1948. Because of this lapse, the article also did not acknowledge the continuing controversy about new development and its effect on Jaffa. After readers pointed out the problem, editors added some of that background information to this version.”

Leaving aside for a moment the factual problem with the Editors’ Note, the fact that it appeared at all in print (let alone twice) is noteworthy.

We recall that The New York Times flatly refused to publish in print an Editors’ Note after the paper whitewashed convicted terrorist Rasmea Odeh as a “controversial Palestinian activist.” Odeh was found guilty for her role in a Jerusalem bombing that killed two Hebrew University students and was later deported from the United States for having lied about her criminal past.

What were the editorial considerations which prompted Times editors to run the Editors’ Note on Odeh only online while the misinformation had appeared also in print, and, in contrast, to share the (false) Jaffa Editors’ Note in print (twice) although the alleged misinformation had never appeared in print?

As for the content of the “correction,” most of Jaffa’s Arab residents fled in 1948—and were not forcibly removed.

‘Flight, Like Panic, is Infectious’
In City of Oranges: An Intimate History of Arabs and Jews in Jaffa (W.W. Norton & Co), journalist Adam LeBor detailed the flight of Jaffa’s Arabs. LeBor, a journalist who has written for The Independent and The Times (London), and has, interestingly, also published a number of book reviews at The New York Times, reported in his book on Jaffa:

“On 8 December 1947, after several days of skirmishes between Arab fighters and the Haganah, hundreds of Arab fighters attacked the Tel Aviv quarter of Hatikvah in a major frontal assault. The attack was repulsed, with sixty Arabs and two Jews killed. The Arab exodus from Jaffa began. Much of the middle class and the a’yan, who could have provided leadership in the testing days ahead, relocated to relatives or to their summer homes in Cairo and Beirut, believing the would return once the situation calmed down. Flight, like panic, is infectious. When Jaffa’s artisans and workers saw that their bosses were leaving, they too began to desert their homes. The Haganah’s intelligence service reported that inhabitants of Manshiyyeh and Abu Kabir, to the south, were moving out of the city, pushing handcarts full of their possessions (p. 114).”

The next month, after a deadly attack targeting the Arab High Committee, but which took the lives of 26 mostly civilians, LeBor said: “The exodus of the middle class further accelerated, angry accusation of abandoning Jaffa following in their wake. ‘Whoever could leave [Jaffa] has left, there is fear everywhere, and there is no safety,’ an Arab informant told Elias Sasson, head of the Jewish Agency’s Arab Affairs department, in January 1948.”

LeBor recounts the fateful day of Sunday, April 25, 1948, when fighting for Jaffa itself began. He tells of the flight of the Hammami family, and son Fadwa remembers:

“In one day, my parents decided to leave. But not for good, because we left everything in the house. They said we were going on holiday, to Lebanon … (p. 125).”

Ismail Abou-Shehade also relays (p. 127):

“For Ismail Abou-Shehade, too, the memories of the exodus are unforgettable. ‘If you ask me about this time, I can tell you about it, like it happened an hour ago. I can still see the people leaving, the women and children shouting, To the sea, to the sea!’ ”

Rabbi Achiad Ettinger died of his injuries Monday, a day after being shot by a Palestinian terrorist during an attack in the northern West Bank, a family spokesperson said.

Ettinger, 47, was a father of 12 from the settlement of Eli. Doctors had been working to save his life since the attack near Ariel Sunday morning in which a soldier, Gal Keidan, was also killed.

Ettinger was shot in the head and neck as he drove by Ariel Junction by terror suspect Omar Abu Laila, 19, who had stolen Geidan’s gun and opened fire on passing cars, according to the IDF.

He was rushed to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva in critical condition and doctors worked for a day to save his life before he succumbed to his injuries, the hospital said.

Relatives of Ettinger told reporters Sunday that despite having been shot and bleeding profusely, he turned his car around and fired four bullets in the direction of the attacker, who managed to escape in a vehicle abandoned by a fleeing driver

His family asked that his organs be donated, Ettinger’s sister told reporters.

Ettinger was the founder of south Tel Aviv’s Oz V’emuna hesder yeshiva, which combines Torah study with military service for young men. He was also active in the campaign against African migrants in the city’s southern Neve Sha’anan neighborhood.

The funeral procession for Ettinger is scheduled to leave Eli at 2 p.m. and pass through Ariel Junction, where the attack took place, before concluding at the Segula cemetery in Petah Tikva.

“The people of Israel mourn over the murder of the late Rabbi Achiad Ettinger. I wish to send condolences to his family at this difficult time. May his memory be a blessing,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted.

“Rabbi Ettinger’s life’s work will continue with us even after his passing, and the strength he gave his students and the community he led will continue to strengthen us through this enormous grief and sorrow,” said President Reuven Rivlin in a statement.

Alexander Dvorsky, a soldier shot and injured by Abu Laila when he drove to nearby Gitai junction and opened fire again, remained in serious condition Monday.

The manhunt after Abu Laila was still ongoing Monday. Israeli security forces detained his father and brother in the nearby town of Az-Zawiya, according to the Ma’an Palestinian news site. Authorities believe Abu Laila fled into the village of Bruqin on foot after the attacks.

Egypt warns Hamas: Israel will topple you and ‘we won’t lift a finger’

Following a rocket barrage from Gaza on Thursday, visiting Egyptian officials warned Hamas that it will not “lift a finger” to halt retribution if Israel takes decisive action.

By World Israel News Staff
Israeli media reports that Egyptian officials were enraged last Thursday when news reached them of the rocket attack over the Tel Aviv area from the Gaza Strip at the very moment they were acting as mediators to the conflict between Hamas and Israel.

“If Israel decides to start a wide-scale operation in Gaza, [Egypt] won’t stop the Israeli attacks. Even if Israel ends your rule in Gaza by assassinating every single one of you and reconquer[ing] Gaza, Egypt and its allies won’t lift a finger to stop the Israeli response,” said a senior Egyptian negotiator at the meeting, according to daily newspaper Israel Hayom.

“You’re endangering our lives,” the official added. “Gazans’ blood is on your hands.’
The senior Egyptian official told Israel Hayom what he had said at the meeting and that his delegation had been blindsided by news of the rocket attack, which arrived just as the Egyptian team was relaying potential terms of a ceasefire agreement from Israel to Hamas leaders.

Egyptian diplomats screamed at Hamas leader Yahyah Sinwar, “Where do you think your double-dealing will land you? We’re trying to finalize a peace agreement with Israel, and behind our backs you let your people fire missiles at Tel Aviv?”

The official told the paper that Sinwar appeared no less surprised by the news and said that Hamas was not behind the rocket attack. Sinwar then asked the Egyptian delegation to get in touch with Israel’s defense establishment and let them know that Hamas wasn’t responsible.

The two rockets were launched at Tel Aviv around 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nine others were launched at communities in southern Israel. The missiles set off rocket sirens in the densely populated Israeli city, in addition to triggering alarms throughout the Dan region.
In response, Israel hammered over 100 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
The rocket attack marked the first time since 2014’s Operation Protective Edge that terrorists in Gaza attempted to strike Tel Aviv with rockets. Palestinian Islamic Jihad, another terrorist group in Gaza, also denied responsibility for the attacks, but Israeli security officials are skeptical about the denials.
Both groups are bankrolled by Iran, with the Hamas terror organization serving as the official government of the Gaza Strip.

The Egyptian official said that before the news of the attack reached the delegation, the meeting was calm “and full of smiles.”
“We estimated that Hamas would accept [the Israeli conditions] permitting a stable and long-term calm. Minutes after one of the aides to the Egyptian delegation entered the room with a worried expression and handed his cellular phone to the heads of the delegation. The smiles quickly changed to sober expressions,” the senior official said to Israel Hayom.

WATCH: How UNRWA Helps Hamas Turn Children into Cannon Fodder

United Nations schools are teaching a dangerous “right of return” ideology that primes Palestinian children to serve as human shields for the Hamas terror group.
The Center for Near East Policy Research recently shot a film on location on the Gaza border, demonstrating how the United Nations’ agency for Palestinian refugees – UNRWA – pushes a dangerous “right of return” ideology that teaches the next generation of Palestinian children to prepare for a siege on Israel.
This film shows how the Palestinians and their children are shamelessly used as cannon fodder in the greater Arab-Israeli wars, with little regard for their welfare or future.
To address this crisis, the Center for Near East Policy Research has developed a UNRWA Reform Initiative, which can be accessed on the Center’s webpage.

Gunman opens fire at Ariel Junction after grabbing weapon from one victim, then carries out second attack at nearby Gitai Junction; IDF searching for attacker

One Israeli was killed and two were seriously injured in a pair of shooting attacks in the northern West Bank on Sunday.

The attack began at Ariel Junction, where the assailant managed to grab a gun from one of the two victims there, a spokeswoman for the Samaria Regional Council said. He then proceeded to the nearby Gitai Junction, where he shot a third Israeli.

The two seriously injured men, one in his 20s and one in his 30s, were taken to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva, the Magen David Adom Emergency service said. Medics attempted to resuscitate the third victim, but were forced to declare him dead at the scene.

The Israel Defense Forces said that it was carrying out extensive searches for the attacker.

As a precaution, the army ordered the closing of the nearby Barkan industrial zone as well as the surrounding northern West Bank settlements. The Palestinian villages of Jamma’in, Kifl Haris and Deir Istiya near Nablus were also sealed, the IDF said.

Palestinian media reported heavy gunfire near the Barkan Industrial zone.

In a video statement from the scene of the attack, Ariel Mayor Eli Shaviro said he had complete faith that Israel’s security forces “will do everything in their power to prevent the next attack and to capture the murderers.”

“We are building in Ariel and this will be the real answer to what has happened (here) and to everything that will happen in the future,” Shaviro added.

Ariel Junction was the site of a fatal stabbing attack just over a year ago, when a Palestinian terrorist killed Itamar Ben Gal, an Israeli father of four, as he waited at a hitchhiking post.
