Muslim Democrat Running for Congress Blames Israel for ‘Evil Doings’ in Gaza
Jul 11, 2018

A Somali-American Muslim woman running for a Democratic seat in Congress accused Israel of “evil doings” in the Gaza Strip and called it an “apartheid state.”

By: JNS

A Somali American Muslim women running to replace Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) has previously accused Israel of “evil doings” in the Gaza Strip and called it an “apartheid state.”

In a November 2012 tweet, Ilhan Omar, who is currently a Minnesota state representative, said, “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.” Her 2012 tweet came after the Israel Defense Forces launched an operation in the Gaza Strip following the launching of 100 rockets at the Jewish state.

In May, Omar responded to criticism of the 2012 tweet by accusing Israel of being an “apartheid state.”

“Drawing attention to the apartheid Israeli regime is far from hating Jews. You are a hateful sad man, I pray to Allah you get the help you need and find happiness,” she wrote on Twitter on May 28, 2018.

Omar told ABC News on Sunday that she is not anti-Semitic and accused her critics of “bigotry.”

“These accusations are without merit. They are rooted in bigotry toward a belief about what Muslims are stereotyped to believe,” she said, while not apologizing for her previous tweets.

Another Democratic candidate for Congress, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who upset incumbent New York Rep. Joe Crowley in a party primary late last month, had previously accused Israel of having committed a “massacre” in the Gaza Strip in reference to May 14 clashes at the Israel-Gaza border.

Imam Receives Death Threats for Meeting IDF Spokesperson
Jul 9, 2018
Moderate Muslim
Imam Hassen Chalghoumi, who met with IDF Spokesperson Manelis and posted the historic meeting on social media, has been facing death threats.

By: United with Israel Staffx

French-Tunisian Imam Hassen Chalghoumi, who met IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis last week and posted the historic meeting on social media, has been facing death threats.

Chalghoumi, a moderate Muslim leader known for his criticism of radical Islam and fundamentalism, met with Manelis in France, and the two stated that they “have a common understanding of terrorism and its dangers.”

Both condemned Hamas and Iran for their violence and terrorism and spoke of peace and religion-based coexistence.

The clip sparked a backlash from other Muslim leaders who condemned Chalghoumi’s friendship towards Israel, while others issued a string of threats. The imam filed a complaint with the police, Israel’s Ynet news reported Sunday.

Chalghoumi, who has visited the Jewish state, is a known defender of Israel and was previously threatened for his stance.

In May 2006, his home was ransacked following a Holocaust memorial ceremony that he conducted in Drancy. His cooperation with Jewish organizations in France has won him the epithet “Imam of the Jews.”

Chalghoumi has spoken out against political Islam, saying that Muslim extremists such as the Islamic State (ISIS) emerged “from our own countries, from among our sons.”

Chalghoumi, who is the imam of the Drancy mosque in Seine-Saint-Denis, said that people who left to join ISIS in Syria and Iraq must not be allowed to return. “They are killers,” he stated.

“As a result of the brutal crimes they committed, they have become barbaric,” he said in a February interview.

Israeli navy offers solution to rescue trapped Thai boys

Israel’s navy presented a potential solution to save the trapped Thai boys and their soccer coach.
By: World Israel News Staff
Israel’s Ambassador to Thailand Meir Shlomo said Sunday that Israel’s navy has found a potential rescue solution for 12 boys, ages 11-16, and their 25-year-old soccer coach, who have been trapped in a cave for two weeks.
Thai authorities said that the key part of the rescue operation is underway. Four have already made it out safely.
“We presented the plan to the Thai governor and to the lead diver responsible for rescue operations,” Shlomo told Army Radio Sunday. “Use of the solution depends on adjusting it to the terrain.”
“I was asked to arrive here by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and see what kind of aid Israel can offer to its friend Thailand,” the ambassador said.
On Saturday, Shlomo visited the site of the rescue efforts at the Tham Luang cave complex, where he said he met several Israelis who volunteered to help and were “doing a nice job.”
Israeli rescuers have been part of the international effort to extract the children from the flooded cave, and Israeli technology has helped maintain communication between the outside world and the trapped boys.
In a statement released late Sunday afternoon, Chiang Rai acting Gov. Narongsak Osatanakorn said that “divers will work with medics in the cave to assess the boys’ health before determining who will come out first.”
“They cannot decide how many of them will be able to come out for the first operation. Based on the complexity and difficulty of the cave environment, it is unknown how long it might take and how many children would exit the cave,” he added.
The rescue operation began at 10 a.m. Sunday when expert divers entered the cave. Trips from the entrance to where the team is trapped and back takes about 11 hours.
Rescuers say it may take two-to-four days for the entire team to reach safety, depending on conditions inside the cave.

WATCH: Syria Demands NGO UN Watch Be ‘Interrupted’ on ‘Hate Israel Day’
https://unitedwithisrael.org/watch-syria-demands-ngo-un-watch-be-interrupted-on-hate-israel-day/?
When UN Watch’s Hillel Neuer took the floor of the Human Rights Council to defend Israel and call out the world’s true dictators, the outraged Syrian delegate demanded he be “interrupted” next time.
Despite continued killings of civilians in Syria, the UN’s top human rights body devotes entire proceedings to its ‘Hate Israel’ ritual.
A day of Israel-bashing is a permanent feature of every Council meeting under its only country-specific agenda item, titled “the Human rights situation in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories.”
At the UNHRC this week, the world’s worst dictators attacked the Jewish state with outrageous lies. When UN Watch’s Hillel Neuer took the floor to call out their hypocrisy, the outraged Syrian delegate suggested that next time he be “interrupted.”
You have to see it to believe it!

WATCH: Israel Eases Lives of Palestinians with New Robot App
Meet “Al-Munasseq,” a new robot created by COGAT that eases communication between PA residents and Israel, eliminating unnecessary stress.
Israel’s Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) has created an Arabic-language robot app for residents of the Palestinian Authority-run territories of Judea and Samaria, easing communication and eliminating unnecessary bureaucratic stress.
Arabs residing in the PA territories often face unnecessary hurdles when traveling to and from Israel, among other challenges. Certain services and regulations are outside the scope of their local authorities.
With the ongoing conflict, communication with Israeli authorities by Palestinians can be problematic.
Israel has developed a creative solution, allows them to interact in Arabic by asking questions and receiving answers from “Al-Munasseq”!

British Government Launches Inquiry Into Incitement in Palestinian Textbooks
“It is grotesque that UK taxpayers’ money is helping to support the teaching of a curriculum which incites violence and terrorism and spreads anti-Semitism,” said MP Joan Ryan.

The British government is set to review the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) educational curriculum over growing concerns that British taxpayers are paying for the Palestinians to teach children incitement and anti-Semitism.

In a letter to Labour Friends of Israel (LFI), Members of Parliament Joan Ryan and Ian Austin, and Middle East Minister Alistair Burt “brought forward a planned assessment of the Palestinian curriculum, which will involve a rigorous and independent review of the pilot PA textbook,” the UK Jewish News reported.

The United Kingdom pays more than £20million ($26 million) per year for Palestinian schools. LFI has been pushing for a review of PA curriculum for several months.

LFI director Jennifer Gerber said Ryan “first raised LFI’s deep concerns about the P.A.’s new lessons in hate directly with the government in September.”

“It is grotesque that UK taxpayers’ money is helping to support the teaching of a curriculum which incites violence and terrorism and spreads anti-Semitism,” said the MP.

In a debate on Wednesday in Parliament convened at the request of Ryan, Middle East Minister Burt said “there is no place in education for materials or practices that incite young minds toward violence,” and that the review, which should be completed by September 2019, will be “evidence-based and rigorous.”

The investigation was spurred by an analysis conducted by the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education group into PA school textbooks, concluding that they provoke “young Palestinians to acts of violence in a more extensive and sophisticated manner,” and that “the curriculum’s focus appears to have expanded from demonisation of Israel to providing a rationale for war.”

WATCH: The Root of Palestinian Terror
Jul 4, 2018
https://unitedwithisrael.org/watch-the-root-of-palestinian-terror/?utm_source=pushengage&utm_medium=pushnotification&utm_campaign=pushengag

Learn what causes Palestinian terror and what needs to be done to stop it.
Israelis do not hate Palestinians, yet Palestinians are teaching their children to attack and murder innocent Israeli civilians.
A quick glimpse at Palestinian social media and TV reveals malicious lies and vicious incitement by the Palestinian Authority (PA), the Hamas terror organization and the Islamic Jihad movement.
Unless Palestinian leaders stop such incitement and blind hatred, there is little chance terror will subside.

Israel Is Losing the Social Media War
Jun 30, 2018  |  by David Patrikarakos
http://www.aish.com/jw/me/Israel-Is-Losing-the-Social-Media-War.html?s=mm
Israel Is Losing the Social Media War
Military supremacy is no longer enough. The war of words can matter more than bullets.

Global outrage over last month’s peak to the so-called Great March of Return on the Gaza-Israel border was instant and understandable. Over 50 people died and hundreds more were injured on a single day. What happened was as viscerally unpleasant as civil strife gets. It was brutal.

More violence followed. Hamas and Islamic Jihad aimed rocket barrages at civilian targets near the border. One shell even landed in the yard of a kindergarten. Israel’s air force struck back. The fight went on.

Then more tragedy; more outrage. A Gazan nurse was shot while tending to the wounded. Her face, smiling and innocent, flooded social media. To make matters worse it initially appeared, and was later disproved, that the culprit was a female IDF sniper, whose image, twinned with her ostensible victim, swept across Twitter and Facebook.

Two battles are taking place between Israel and Hamas in Gaza: one on the ground and the other in cyber space.
As ever in modern conflict – from Syria to Iraq to even Occupy Wall Street – two battles are taking place between Israel and Hamas in Gaza: one on the ground and the other in cyber space. This latter battle centers on questions of outrage, perceived culpability, blaming (on both sides), and is played out in cycles that are determined by the mechanics and rhythms of social media. In terms of substance, this clash is between two opposing narratives. On the one hand, a clear Hamas narrative of a peaceful march in which defenseless demonstrators are mowed down by the evil Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Set against that is the narrative of the IDF: the soldiers of a democratic state protecting its citizens from hordes of terrorists armed with weapons and explosives, who are determined to break through the border.

As the battle switches to missiles and planes and back to missiles, fire kites, air strikes, etc., the way events on the ground are portrayed shapes both media cycles and the responses of states, which in turn constrain or encourage the tactics used by each side. The tragedy of death is perennial, but what Gaza has shown is that the war of words can matter more than bullets.

This observation may appear counterintuitive, but it emerges from several years of personal experience with, and research into, the role of social media in shaping modern battle-space. In 2010 I embedded with the U.N. peacekeepers in the Congo as they faced-off against the terror militia group the Lord’s Resistance Army. In 2014 I spent almost a year in Ukraine covering its war with Russia. It was only four years later, but it felt as if I were covering a war in a different century.

I realized that in Ukraine I was covering not one but two wars: one fought on the ground with guns and tanks, and the other online with posts and shares. The experience prompted me to write a book on social media and its changing effect on war that focuses on three conflicts: Russia and Ukraine, ISIS, and Israel’s 2014 war against Hamas. At the center of all these conflicts one thing stands out: the ability of social media to affect war – both on the ground and, perhaps more importantly, in the discussion and information battles around it. Social media, has, I realized, changed the ways that wars were waged, reported on, and consumed. And nowhere is this the case more than for the State of Israel.

In April 2016, I met a young man called Vitaly in the Siberian city of Tyumen. He spoke no English but he was gregarious and fun. He was a Russian liberal. He disliked Putin. All this made the reason I had come to visit him even more strange: In 2014, during the height of fighting between Russia and Ukraine, Vitaly, a one-time journalist, had worked out of a bland building in St. Petersburg for a company called the Internet Research Agency. His masters tasked him with a simple goal: to spread as much pro-Russian and anti-Ukrainian propaganda as possible – and to do it during war, a period of acute tension.

Vitaly was given a crash course in how to disseminate information (in his case outright propaganda) that gained as much traction as quickly as possible. In essence he was taught how to make material of the most sensationalist kind go viral by any and all means possible. He became a professional war troll.

I thought of Vitaly’s story as the March of Return began on March 30 (Land Day), morphed into serious violence throughout mid-May, peaking on May 15 (Nakba Day), and, while diminished, continues to the present day. Throughout this period, online content, from both Palestinian and Israeli sources and sympathizers, has become near ubiquitous (albeit in fits and starts) in my various social media feeds.

To understand the role that this material plays in warfare, it is necessary to first grasp how information spreads in the digital age. Ukraine was a laboratory in which Russia honed the techniques it would use to attempt to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election, interfere in the Baltic States, and help propel the far right to gains across Europe. The secret of effective information dissemination, Vitaly was told, lay in understanding the three elements that make content go viral.

The tragedy of death is perennial, but what Gaza has shown is that the war of words can matter more than bullets.
In today’s world of posts, shares, and tweets our online lives require a near constant supply of adrenaline and dopamine hits. Capturing people’s attention is accordingly harder than it has ever been. You have, Vitaly was told, one to two seconds tops to make someone scrolling through his or her phone stop on your content. The user’s lizard brain is where it all begins. Without the ability to make someone stop, nothing subsequent is possible.

What makes people stop scrolling through their feeds is the second element: an image – the more arresting the better. Subtlety doesn’t play well on social media. But even if you make the user stop, they most likely won’t click through to any accompanying article, which means the image has to be a way of embedding the message in their brain. For Vitaly this meant creating visual memes with simple text. “I want to start a war but none of my friends will join me,” read the words accompanying a photo of Obama looking almost tearful in one meme that Vitaly posted to Vkontakte (the Russian Facebook).

In another, he posted a two-panel meme. In the first photo an angry looking Obama says, “We don’t talk to terrorists!” In the second he is shown smiling with a caption: “We just sponsor them.”

Vitaly’s posts illustrate the “conflict” meme. It is by nature firstly sensationalist; second, deliberately devoid of all nuance. It is simple stuff, but effective.

If all three elements are deployed effectively then what follows is as predictable as it is effective. Memes are created and circulated; they go viral; people are driven into a frenzy. For Vitaly, this meant enraging his target audience of Russians and eastern Ukrainians about the – fabricated – behavior of Kiev’s “fascist junta.” Thus was the Kremlin’s base shored up, and hatred of the “enemy” increased. Compromise of any kind was rendered near-impossible.

This pattern has been replicated almost exactly during the Gaza crisis. The general violence has been memed and tweeted and shared relentlessly throughout, and by both sides. But certain key instances stand out, of which two will be considered. The first occurred when the IDF killed over 50 Gazan rioters. A meme quickly spread. Entitled “Bloodbath in Gaza: Names of Palestinians killed in cold blood by the IDF,” it was – critically – a graphic with photographs of every person killed dominating the meme and their names and ages below.

The IDF meanwhile was responding to charges of indiscriminate killing of civilians with a technique called mirroring (essentially responding in an almost identical format). In a meme entitled “The Terrorists of the Violent Riots,” once again the photos were laid out for all to see – their ages and names were also given – this time with their role in terror networks made explicit.

What saved Israel was that within 48 hours it emerged that out of 62 people killed at least 50 were members of Hamas.
What makes this episode so instructive is not that it ended in an Israeli PR victory (a rare enough occurrence) but how this happened. As Neri Zilber, a Tel Aviv-based journalist and adjunct fellow of the Washington Institute, observes: “You need to understand that what saved Israel was that it emerged that out of 62 people killed at least 50 were members of Hamas, and that this data point came out by a Hamas official during an interview about 48 hours later [after 15 May]. Critically, he said it due to internal pressure – the need to deflect public anger at Hamas sending its people out to get shot by claiming that it had sacrificed its own first. It was the best thing that happened to Israel in the two-month episode in terms of public diplomacy, and it came not from the IDF but from Hamas.”

He continues: “The IDF did a really poor job of rebutting information. They were often delayed in responding and often the information they put out was insufficient to rebut certain claims, due to them being unwilling to break classified protocol.”

Zilber hits on a key point in describing the new warfare. We live in an age of virtual mass enlistment, where anyone can become an actor in war with almost no barriers to entry – all you need is a smartphone to tweet and post your narratives and you have entered the online battlefield. And these narratives are almost always shaped by and derivative of those posted by more experienced users. Neophytes learn fast. Institutions like governments and indeed armies – large, bloated bureaucracies with endless chains of command and permission requests – are at a disadvantage compared to the freewheeling, hyper-empowered, connected citizen I term Homo Digitalis.

The second problem for Israel was that 48 hours in today’s social media-powered news cycle is a lifetime. The truth did emerge and so did some recantations from reporters and other commentators. But the damage had been done. For the pro-Palestinian meme creators the formula is simple: rinse, dry, and repeat for the next hot incident.

The second incident was the killing of the Gazan nurse – purportedly by a female IDF soldier (an immigrant from the United States, no less, just to hammer home the iniquity of it). Again, the narrative thread hung on an image – a photo of the soldier, identified as Rebecca Rum, in full uniform, cradling an M16. Many memes posted Rebecca’s photo alongside the highly-telegenic dead nurse, Razan Ashraf al-Najjar. It was an instant and bitter symmetry.

It must be pointed out that the IDF is still investigating the death of a nurse who seemed only to be tending to the wounded, and it may well find one of its soldiers criminally culpable. But the point here is not to assess guilt, but to demonstrate the cycles of information warfare. Al-Najjar was murdered in cold blood, went the narrative, which may well be true, but the information hook was that her murder was perpetuated by another young woman from a foreign country, thus capturing the worst characteristics of Israel in the Western pro-Palestinian narrative in a simple, easy-to-digest form. As it turned out the photo was taken four years earlier in Egypt and Rebecca Rum (not her real name) had been nowhere near Gaza at the time. But again, the damage had been done.

Gaza shows us how war has evolved. The question is: Why does this evolution in war affect Israel particularly? The answer lies in two parts: one, the nature of the wars Israel fights, and two, the philosophical questions that surround conflict. In the first instance, it is fundamental to understand that the Israel of 2018 is not the Israel of 1948, 1967, or even 1973. The greatest threats to its people do not come from neighboring states. No state in the Middle East, not even Iran, has acquired the capacity to defeat Israel. The Jews will not be thrown into the sea through military force.

The conflicts Israel fights are asymmetric ones in which it, as a state, faces off against a non-state actor.
Instead, the gravest threat to Israel comes from insurgents such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The conflicts Israel fights are asymmetric ones in which it, as a state, faces off against a non-state actor. Israel’s victory on the battlefield is therefore predetermined. Hamas fires rockets at Israel knowing full well that the majority of them will be shot down by Israel’s missile defense system Iron Dome. It sends protestors to “return” to their land knowing full well they will be stopped. It cannot defeat Israel on the ground.

Harvard professor Joseph Nye has asserted that 21st-century conflicts will be less about whose army wins than whose story wins.
But Hamas can defeat Israel online – and as such in the clichéd but powerful international court of opinion. Harvard professor Joseph Nye has asserted that 21st-century conflicts will be less about whose army wins than whose story wins. What those pro-Palestinian tweeters do with their memes and photos and videos illustrates the ways that social media can enhance the power of smaller, less militarily powerful entities whose story resonates – for whatever combination of reasons – with a global audience. Hamas cannot achieve a military victory against Israel but it can mobilize international outpourings of rage, which hamper Israel’s diplomatic and economic relations with other states. The potential ramifications of this phenomenon are so serious that it can be argued that for Israel, at least, asymmetric war is not so asymmetric anymore.

This is because of the second part of the question at hand: the philosophical questions that surround conflict. Every country has to justify its use of force – failure to do so can have catastrophic effects, even if the country in question does not militarily lose a war. The United States went to war against Iraq to remove what turned out to be nonexistent WMDs. It destroyed Saddam’s army without any difficulty but it failed to justify its use of force. The consequences of that decision remain with us 15 years later. Iraq is regularly used as a rhetorical and political stick with which to beat the United States. Washington’s reluctance to become involved in preventing President Bashar al-Assad’s butchery in Syria can be traced back to the errors of Iraq.

And the United States is the most powerful country in the world. For a small state like Israel the need to justify its military actions is far more pressing. Israel is a large weapons exporter but at the same time it receives vast aid from the United States, and imports a lot of foreign weaponry and technology. It is not a superpower. It is a small country that needs others to support its military actions. Take that support away, and it could be in serious strategic trouble.

Jerusalem has proved time and again that it will go to war if it feels it necessary, and has traditionally justified this on principles: primarily, the right – especially following the Holocaust – to defend Jewish life at almost any cost; and its status as the only democracy in the Middle East. By and large, these arguments have been effective in what might be called the discursive war – the intellectual battle that takes place behind every justification for force. Of course, the discursive war is uneven. Israel wins it in Washington and London and Berlin but loses it in the entire Arab world and most of South America. But, simply put, Paris matters more than Panama; D.C. more than Djibouti.

And so the woman in Kentucky has listened to Israel argue for force on these principles and accepted them. Now she logs on to Twitter and sees dead children, dead nurses, and soldiers firing on what appear to be civilians. She no longer cares about seemingly abstract principles; she just doesn’t want to see any more corpses. Of course, corpses are as old as war itself. How many children, for example, did the United States and its allies kill in Iraq? The difference is now you can see them. In fact, go online and you cannot escape them.

In response, the IDF social media unit can produce images of Gazans hurling Molotov cocktails and rocks at its soldiers, of them setting kites on fire to burn nature preserves and farms, but those images cannot compete with the images of IDF soldiers firing live ammunition and dead Palestinians, even if many of them are discovered – much later in the social media news cycle – to be Hamas terrorists. During 2014’s Operation Protective Edge, a foreign bureau chief told Peter Lerner, former head of the IDF’s Spokesperson’s Foreign and Social Media Unit, “Peter, it’s the old rule: if it bleeds it leads.” Israelis weren’t bleeding so they weren’t leading. But, as Lerner told me unequivocally “We don’t want to bleed.”

Israel was and is damned: If it strikes Hamas targets embedded in civilian areas or among protesters marching toward its borders, it receives international condemnation, but if Hamas succeeds in kidnapping or killing any of its soldiers or civilians, Hamas wins again, by showing that Israel has “lost” to a much weaker force – all played out on social media and in real time. It is a lose-lose situation.

Israel unquestionably won the military battle. It unquestionably lost the information war.
Operation Protective Edge was a 51-day war – the longest in Israel’s history. Israel unquestionably won the military battle. It unquestionably lost the information war. And because of this fact it is hard to see how Israel can fight a war that long again without becoming a pariah.

One might argue that this is nothing new. Since its inception Israel has been vilified by its many enemies, and since 1967, by much of the world’s media, cheered on by a large portion of the global population, whose enmity toward the Jewish state is nourished by both religious and secular currents. The difference is that new information technologies are raising the possibility (even with a hugely supportive U.S. president now in power) that even its friends may struggle to support it in years to come.

Unlike Russia, Israel is a democratic state. It cannot pump out falsehoods – and it cannot manufacture gory Israeli casualties where none exist. Israel loses the global information war because it does not “bleed” enough – and as long as it maintains its military advantage, it never will.

Austrian Leader to Iranian President: ‘Questioning Israel’s Right to Exist Absolutely Unacceptable’

“Questioning Israel’s right to exist” or calling for the state of Israel’s destruction are absolutely unacceptable, Kurz told Rouhani.

By: United with Israel Staff

Austria’s chancellor had harsh words for visiting Iranian President Hassan Rouhani over the Islamic Republic’s declared desire to destroy the Jewish state and its flagrant anti-Semitism.

Speaking during a joint press conference in Vienna on Wednesday, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz reprimanded Rouhani over Iran’s blatant anti-Semitism, saying that his country “strongly” condemns “all forms of anti-Semitism as well as any form of down-playing or denial of the Holocaust.”

Iran is a global promoter of Holocaust denial, and even holds an annual cartoon festival which mocks that cataclysmic event in Jewish history.

Kurz underscored that Israel’s concerns regarding threats from Iran “have to be taken seriously. Austria is unconditionally committed to the security of Israel and its citizens.”

“Questioning Israel’s right to exist or a call for destruction of the state of Israel are absolutely unacceptable,” Kurz reportedly declared.

Yuval Rotem, the Director General of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, welcomed Kurz’s “strong words confronting the Iranian call to destroy Israel.”

“All countries should adopt such a firm rejection of Iran’s aggressive words and deeds towards Israel,” he tweeted.

Iran does not recognize Israel and regularly calls for its destruction.

In a rally in Tehran last year, Iran unveiled a digital clock in the city’s Palestine Square counting down the days to what it says will be the destruction of Israel in 2040.

The time frame appears to stem from comments made in 2015 by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who vowed there will be “nothing” left of Israel by the year 2040.

In September 2015, Khamenei proclaimed, “You [Israelis] will not see the coming 25 years and, God willing, there will not be something named the Zionist regime in next 25 years.”

He later tweeted in broken English, “Struggling, heroic and jihadi morale will leave no moment of serenity for Zionists.” Khamenei calls for Israel’s destruction almost on a weekly basis.

Most recently, Rouhani threatened Israel and stated that it can never feel safe, while calling for all Palestinians to “return to their homeland.”

“Israel can never feel that it is in a safe place,” Rouhani told reporters in June, as Iranians marked Quds Day by condemning Israel and chanting “death to Israel” and “death to America.”

Iran’s Terror Plot in Europe
Kurz also demanded “full clarification” from Rouhani on the case of Assadollah Assadi, a Vienna-based Iranian diplomat suspected of leading a plot to bomb an Iranian opposition rally in Europe.

Assadi was detained Sunday in Germany after a couple with Iranian roots was stopped in Belgium and authorities reported finding powerful explosives in their car.

Belgian authorities accuse Assadi of being part of a plot to set off explosives at a huge annual rally of the Mujahedeen-e-Khalq group in neighboring France. French police also detained a man of Iranian origin.

Following the arrest of the Iranian diplomat, Iran’s ambassador was summoned to the Austrian foreign ministry on Monday.

“We expect full clarification and I would like to thank you, Mr. President, that you have assured us of support for this clarification,” said Kurz, speaking alongside Rouhani.

Iran’s foreign minister dismissed the allegations as a ploy to disturb Rouhani’s visit to Europe.

Referring to the incident, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated Tuesday that the “Iranian terror plot was planned on the soil of Europe on the same week that the European leaders are supposed to meet the president of Iran about circumventing the sanctions on Iran.”

“Here’s my message to the European leaders. Stop funding the very regime that is sponsoring terrorism against you and against so many others. Stop appeasing Iran,” he concluded.

Iranian General Accuses Israel of Stealing its Clouds, Causing Drought

Jalali claimed Israel and “another country in the region” maintain joint teams “to ensure clouds entering Iranian skies are unable to release rain.”

By: United with Israel Staff

A senior Iranian general accused Israel of stealing its clouds to manipulate weather in the Islamic Republic and cause drought there.

Brigadier General Gholam Reza Jalali, head of Iran’s Civil Defense Organization said that the changing climate in Iran is “suspect,” AFP reported Monday.

“Foreign interference is suspected to have played a role in climate change,” said Jalali, who maintained that results from an Iranian scientific study “confirm” the claim.

He claimed Israel and “another country in the region” maintain joint teams “to ensure clouds entering Iranian skies are unable to release rain.”

“On top of that, we are facing the issue of cloud and snow theft,” he insisted.

Jalali cited a survey showing that all mountainous regions above 7,200 feet in areas between Afghanistan and the Mediterranean are covered in snow, except Iran.

Stealing Snow or Clouds: Impossible
The head of Iran’s meteorological service dismissed the general’s assertions. Specifically, Ahad Vazife said that Jalali “probably has documents of which I am not aware, but on the basis of meteorological knowledge, it is not possible for a country to steal snow or clouds”.

“Iran has suffered a prolonged drought, and this is a global trend that does not apply only to Iran,” Vazife said. “Raising such questions not only does not solve any of our problems, but will deter us from finding the right solutions”.

According to Iran’s meteorological center, 96 percent of Iranians suffer from some degree of drought, while up to 50 million may be forced to leave their homes as a result of the environmental damage. The year 2018 was the driest in Iran in over 67 years. The constant decline in precipitation indicates that the drought will continue and even get worse.

Last month, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offered to help save Iranian lives by sharing water technology with them, while Iran rejected the offer.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry launched a website in Farsi aimed at sharing Israeli water technologies directly with the Iranian people, which provides tips on how to save water and improve use – unique methods which have been refined by Israelis over the decades.

This is not the first time Iran has accused another country of stealing its rain.

Former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in 2011 accused Western countries of plotting to “cause drought” in Iran.

“European countries used special equipment to force clouds to dump” their water on their continent, he claimed

He also accused Western states of creating the HIV virus to weaken the developing world and create a market for pharmaceuticals.

“The money given in the past to terrorists and the lives of those who were murdered cannot be returned, but from now on it will be different, and lives will be saved,” the bill’s sponsor, Yesh Atid MK Elazar Stern, told the Knesset plenum after the vote.
Stern paid tribute to US army captain Taylor Force, who was murdered on the Tel Aviv boardwalk in March 2016, saying that he inspired the law. Stern pointed out Taylor’s father, Stuart Force, who was present in the plenum for the vote.
“We have too many Taylor Forces in Israel,” Stern lamented.
“May this law be part of the commemoration of your late son, who is a hero of the Jewish people.”

Russia may assist Israel in placing limits on Iranian activities in Syria to avoid a direct aerial clash with Israel, former deputy national security council chief Chuck Freilich has told the Jerusalem Post.
As Syria reasserts control of its side of the Golan border and Israel, according to foreign reports, continued to target Iranian activities in Syria last week, Freilich said that, “the last thing Russia wants is one of its aircraft shot down by Israel. Then it would need to respond to that.”

Nearly three-quarters of Israelis believe the unreleased Middle East diplomatic plan of US President Donald Trump is doomed to failure, according to the monthly Peace Index poll of the Israel Democracy Institute and Tel Aviv University.
The poll, published Monday, found 73.8% of the general public believes there are low or very low chances that Trump’s plan could succeed, while 11.2% said the chances were “moderately high” and just 4.4% said very high. The percentage saying they did not know the details of the unpublished plan or declined to answer was only 10.6%.

Asked to what extent Israel’s interests were important to Trump, 77.3% of the general public said they were either moderately important or very important to the US president.
Interestingly, Arab respondents were more than four times as likely as Jewish respondents to say Israel’s interests were “very important” to Trump.

Honoris causa…
These Latin words inevitably remind me of my years in France’s preparatory classes, in Paris, when I was studying for the entrance exam for the Ecole Normale Superieure and I was devouring Latin as the Jews of Netanya and Jerusalem, faithful to the lesson of Ezekiel, nourished themselves with the Hebrew square letters.
Be the first to know - Join our Facebook page.
But, since I am here, in the country of the Jews, please allow me to forget for a minute, this stiff latin of the academies and clerics.
You might even allow me to forget the Universitas Studiorum with its imperial togas and glorious memories, and rather to borrow from another nobility, one with other accents, and with differing mysteries of thought and knowledge.
And you might permit me to employ a word, in another language, yours, ours, and which, perhaps because I was for too long and too powerfully thrown into the Latin cauldron, alas I do not yet master, which serves this latin honor – and this word, this synonym, or this quasi synonym, is, you know better than me, the Hebrew word kavod.
Except that there is a nuance, even a difference, between honor and kavod.

Israel’s Economy is Booming Despite Growing Threat of War
https://israelunwired.com/israels-economy-thrives-threat-war/
By Leah Rosenberg -  July 2, 2018 2946 0
Israel’s economy is remarkable, especially given the fact that Israel is so young. But despite the booming economy, Israel faces the threat of war.
Israel's Economy is Booming but Threat of War Remains
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=dLFtRBm0uiE

Take a look at Israel’s economy. It is truly unbelievable! The Jewish state has only been around for 70 years, but when you look at the economy, you would never know that Israel is so young. The 70 year old country is able to do what so many other nations cannot do. Israel is a nation of strong-willed individuals who don’t give up. When you have a country like that, nothing is impossible.

Israel is a star in the high tech industry. They invest a lot of time and energy into research, inventing, innovating, and creating what their people need as well as what the world needs.

Something that might be shocking is Israel’s GDP. The young Jewish state has climbed up to have one of the highest in the Middle East – about 42,000 USD!

Israel is not affected by the continuous world pressure. They continue to thrive, and their economy continues to grow.

NY Democratic Congressional Candidate Accused Israel of a ‘Massacre’ in Gaza
An anti-Israel candidate who supports BDS unseated a veteran politician in a Democratic primary in New York’s 14th congressional district.
By: JNS and United with Israel Staff
A Democratic Socialist who upset Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) in a primary on Tuesday night previously said that Israel had committed a “massacre” in the Gaza Strip.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 28, who soundly defeated Crowley as part of a party primary for New York’s 14th congressional district, is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, which supports the anti-Israel BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions)  movement.

In a May 14 tweet, Ocasio-Cortez said Israel’s killing of Palestinians along the Gaza border was a “massacre,” and that “no state or entity is absolved of mass shootings of protesters.”

“There is no justification. Palestinian people deserve basic human dignity, as anyone else,” she said. “Democrats can’t be silent about this anymore.”

The violent “March of Return” protests, orchestrated by the Palestinian Hamas terror group, began on March 30. On May 14, 62 Palestinians were killed in clashes with the IDF. Hamas leaders admitted that at least 50 of those killed were members of the terror group. Islamic Jihad claimed another three.

The primary victory of Ocasio-Cortez over Crowley—the No. 4 Democrat in the House of Representatives, who many viewed as vying for a top leadership position in the next year—may represent a broader shift in the Democratic Party towards the more progressive wing championed by Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is also a socialist and has strongly condemned Israel’s actions in recent months.

Ocasio-Cortez, a former Bernie Sanders organizer during his 2016 campaign, caught fire with the party’s left wing.

“Congratulations to @Ocasio2018 on her extraordinary upset victory tonight! She took on the entire local Democratic establishment in her district and won a very strong victory. She demonstrated once again what progressive grassroots politics can do,” Sanders tweeted after her victory.

In a statement, the Jewish Democratic Council of America, congratulating Ocasio-Cortez on her victory, said it disagreed with her stance on Israel.

“We disagree with her past statement regarding Israel, as well as her affiliation with the Democratic Socialists of America, which supports the boycott, divestment and sanctions [BDS] movement targeting Israel. In the coming days and months, we hope to learn more about Ms. Ocasio-Cortez’s views, but at the moment, her position on Israel is not in line with our values.”
Ocasio-Cortez will face Republican Anthony Pappas in November. She has never held elected office.

Every Western country must stand with Israel against radical Islamic terrorism.
The Israeli people face the frighteningening escalation of Islamic terror acts through Israel.
The Palestinian Authority refuses to take the most basic steps towards ensuring peace with Israel, and instead incites terrorism.
Textbooks in Gaza and the West Bank teach children that Israel has no right to exist.
They teach their children to hate Jews.
The Hamas charter calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and the Jewish people.

No one should have to live in fear as they drive home from work or walk home from school. This radical Islamic terrorism must stop.
Israeli mothers shouldn’t have to fear sending their kids off to school. Israeli workers shouldn’t have to fear standing at a bus stop. Israeli children and visitors should be free to feel safe while walking through Jerusalem’s Old City. The people of Israel have a right to live in peace and security.
Israel built security fences and walls on all its borders after a wave of suicide bombings during the second intifada.
The entire world was quick to condemn Israel for defending itself
The world is silent when Palestinians influct pain and death upon Israel but screams when Israel protects itself.

When Israel left the Gaza Strip, Gaza was free and all Jews were expelled.
Hamas took control on the Gaza Strip, imposed sharia law and declared war on Israel with the declared goal of destroying the Jewish state.
They fired tens of thousands of rockets at Israel, but the world turned a blind eye.
Hamas, ISIS, and Al Qaeda share the same ideology of radical Islam.
The Western world must stand with Israel in the war against radical Islamic terrorism.
Iran founded the Shiite terror organization Hezbollah in Lebanon with the declared aim of destroying Israel.
During the first and second Lebanon wars, Hezbollah fired tens of thousands of rockets at civilian communities in northern Israel.
Hezbollah's name means "an army of Allah." This Shiite terrorist organization is waging a war against Israel and threatens to kill 800,000 Israelis by bombing a chemical factory in Haifa (a historic Christian city in northern Israel).
Every year thousands of Muslims take to the streets of London, Paris, Rome and other major cities in Europe, to declare loyalty to Hezbollah (Allah's army).
They call it "Al Quds Day March" This holiday was founded by the leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
The Muslim mayor of London allowes this to take place in the capital of England.
Shame on London, shame on Britain!
Al Quds Day march must be banned in the West.
The West must stop embracing Islam-based hatred of Israel.

The official Palestinian WAFA news agency reported last month that the PA attended a ministerial conference against terror funding, which was held in the French capital Paris and attended by 500 experts and some 80 ministers from 72 countries.
Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad Al-Malki and Head of the Palestinian Central Bank Azzam Al-Shawa represented the PA.

The conference concluded with a speech by French President Emmanuel Macron, in which he emphasized the significance of continuing the international efforts and cooperation against terror funding.
The PA was invited and participated in the conference despite that fact that the PA actively and openly uses its budget and also aid from donor countries to pay terrorists, while PA leaders ignore the condemnation by the international community.

The PA pays monthly salaries to around 6,500 imprisoned terrorists, as well as monthly allowances to the families of tens of thousands of killed terrorists, who the PA calls “martyrs.”

Indeed, the PA allocated over $350 million in its published 2018 budget for these expenditures. Despite international criticism, PA leaders vow to continue to pay terror-rewarding salaries, underscored Palestinian Media Watch (PMW).

PMW has documented that the PA spends money on monuments to terrorist murderers and the PA Ministry of Education has named 31 schools after terrorists, just to name a few of the many ways the PA spends money on terrorists and on immortalizing them.

The More You Kill, the More You Get
Rudy Giuliani, attorney to US President Donald Trump and former mayor of New York City, recently called the PA a “murder machine” and “a prime supporter of terrorism,” noting its financial support and glorification of terrorists.

The PA paid terrorists and their families more than $347 million in 2017, and increased terror incentives by $56 million to $403 million for 2018, with terror expenditures comprising some seven percent of the PA’s overall budget according to Israel’s Defense Ministry.

Palestinian prisoners serving 20-30 year sentences for carrying out terror attacks are eligible for a lifetime NIS 10,000 monthly stipend, the Defense Ministry said, citing PA figures.

Those who receive a three-to-five-year sentence get a monthly wage of NIS 2,000. Palestinian prisoners who are married, have children, live in Jerusalem or hold Israeli citizenship receive additional payments.

“The payment of money by the Palestinian Authority to terrorists who are convicted of terrorism is an absolute human rights outrage and a crime in and of itself,” Giuliani stated.

“To give money to people who slaughter innocent human beings, including children and women and innocent people of all kinds, is a direct contribution to terrorism… The fact that the Palestinian Authority does this, carries this out on a massive scale, is yet another indication that the Palestinian Authority is a prime supporter of terrorism, and therefore not entitled to be a state.”

Israel approves solar field to increase power supply to Gaza
Facility’s construction at the Erez Crossing will be funded by private Israeli and foreign elements; Israeli officials stress plan is a one-sided humanitarian move aimed at easing the crisis in the strip and is not part of an agreement with Hamas.

Images of Gaza’s residents eating to candlelight have become one of the symbols of the humanitarian crisis in the strip, but a new Israeli plan may change that situation.
Israel has approved a plan to build a solar field on Israeli territory to ease the electricity crisis in the Gaza Strip. The construction of the facility at the Erez Crossing will be funded by private Israeli and foreign elements.
Israeli officials stress that this is a one-sided humanitarian move which is not part of an agreement with Hamas.

The field’s construction, and further ideas to improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, were discussed in meetings held this week by US President Donald Trump’s envoys to the Middle East, Jason Greenblatt and Jared Kushner. The two met with leaders in the Gulf states, Jordan and Egypt, and held two long meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the weekend.
Another idea aimed at easing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza was discussed in meetings between Netanyahu and representatives of the defense establishment: Bringing some 6,000 laborers from Gaza to work in the Gaza vicinity. The idea has been rejected so far at the recommendation of the Shin Bet, citing a serious security threat.
Shin Bet officials believe that a mass entry of several thousand laborers from Gaza into Israel would serve Hamas’ intelligence collection system and would be used to smuggle funds for terrorist activity within and outside the strip.
According to state officials, the idea to build a solar field that would provide electricity to Gaza was raised by Israel in the beginning of 2018 at an international conference on the strip’s reconstruction held in Washington. The original idea was to build the solar fields on Egyptian territory, but the Egyptians made it clear that as long as Gaza wasn’t ruled by the Palestinian Authority, they would not allow the construction of such a project on their territory.

GAS DISCOVERY
Egyptian media reports that Italian energy company Eni is about to announce a massive offshore gas discovery in the coming few days have been enough to seen energy stocks on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) plunging. With an estimated 2,550 billion cubic meters (BCM) of gas, Noor would be three times larger than the Zohr gas field, over five times larger than Israel's Leviathan field and more than ten times the Tamar field.
Italian co Eni is reportedly set to announce the Noor gas discovery, which will even dwarf the massive Zohr field.

Former Pink Floyd lead singer Roger Waters is locked in a battle with Munich’s mayor over stoking hatred of Israel.

Munich’s Mayor Dieter Reiter is locked in a battle with former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters over his intense hatred of the Jewish state.

Reiter has vowed to block Waters’ performances in the city over Waters’ support of BDS and anti-Semitism.

Waters routinely calls for a boycott of Israel during live performances and sends balloons shaped like pigs with Stars of David into the crowd. The mayor, on the other hand, has led the charge against the BDS movement in Germany.

Reiter is working to ensure that anti-Semitism and BDS have no place, anywhere in Germany.

In the first paragraph, we learn that there were “attacks.” In the second paragraph, we learn that the attacks were carried out by “armed herdsmen.” In the fourth paragraph, we find that the herdsmen are “mostly Muslims,” while the victims are “predominantly Christians.” Never in this story do we learn that Nigerian Church leaders have characterized the attacks by Fulani herdsmen as a war “by Islam to eliminate Christianity” in Nigeria.
“Nigeria: Dozens killed, homes burned in Plateau State attacks,” by Stephanie Busari, CNN, June 24, 2018:

Lagos, Nigeria (CNN)At least 86 people have been killed in attacks in central Nigeria, police said, an incident that has the potential to exacerbate ethnic tensions in an increasingly volatile region.

The violence, thought to be carried out by armed herdsmen, flared on Saturday in Jos, the capital city of Plateau State, according to a police statement reported in local media Sunday.

“Eighty six persons all together were killed, six people injured, fifty houses burnt,” police spokesman Terna Tyopev was quoted as saying in local media reports.

Clashes between the nomadic Fulani herdsmen, who are mostly Muslims, and farmers, who are predominantly Christians, have rocked Nigeria’s Middle Belt since 2013 and are becoming more common….

Hamas, Not Children, Responsible for ‘Fire Kite’ Terror, IDF Shows
Hamas creates explosive kites in large quantities and in an organized manner, the IDF stressed, debunking the notion that children are behind the tactic.

By: United with Israel Staff

The IDF has documented and exposed Hamas’ responsibility for the relentless wave of airborne arson attacks on Israel’s south, debunking the widely accepted notion that it is a popular and unorganized form of terrorism and that children are behind it.

“The Hamas terror organization deliberately conducts arson terror attacks in an organized manner,” the IDF stated Sunday. “Hamas leads the arson and explosive kites phenomenon; it orchestrates the launches and will bear the consequences for its actions.”

The IDF demonstrated how this latest form of terrorism has evolved in recent weeks into “a deliberate activity, planned and executed by the Hamas terror organization, targeting Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip.”

First, a Hamas commander in charge of launching arson kites and balloons directs subordinate operatives, who prepare them, attaching flammable materials, the army explained.

Once the explosive kites and balloons are fully prepared, the operatives launch them into target areas within Israeli territory.

Arson kites are made by Hamas terror operatives in large quantities and in an organized manner, the IDF underscored.

The IDF posted a clip online in which terrorists are clearly seen preparing and launching the arson balloons from within a Hamas military post.

“This terror activity targets Israeli civilians, as well as Israeli agricultural lands and nature,” the IDF stressed.

The IDF emphasized that it responds to these terrorist attacks “in a calculated yet increasing fashion: firing warning shots nearby, targeting the terror infrastructure that belongs to the launchers and Hamas military targets located deep within the Gaza Strip.”

In the latest such “calculated response,” an Israel Air Force (IAF) aircraft on Sunday afternoon targeted a wagon used by Hamas terrorists to prepare explosive balloons in the northern Gaza Strip.

A few hours earlier, an IDF aircraft targeted a vehicle used by a group of Palestinians who attempted to launch arson balloons from the southern Gaza Strip into Israeli territory.

“The IDF will not allow this terror to threaten Israeli civilians and Israeli territory,” the IDF concluded.

Hamas’ Airborne Arson Continues to Strike
In the meantime, Israel’s south continued to contend with the Palestinian airborne terrorism on Sunday as firebomb-laden kites and balloons set new fires near communities on the border with Gaza.

Firefighters extinguished blazes near the agricultural communities of Kissufim, Be’eri and Nir Am.

Sunday’s fires came a day after incendiary kites launched by Palestinian terrorists from Gaza started 26 blazes in southern Israel.

The IDF in recent days has deployed a new detection system to combat the terrorism which has been plaguing the south for some three months, but with apparently limited success.

Israeli farmers in proximity to Gaza have been subjected to hundreds of burning kites. Some 500 blazes have destroyed several hundred acres of wood and farmland and have ruined produce worth millions of shekels.

Palestinian terrorists have launched more than 600 incendiary kites into Israel since the start of the “March of Return” some 12 weeks ago.

Despite the IDF’s best efforts to stop the kites in flight, more than 200 have set fire to Israeli fields and property. More than 430 fires have erupted, and 2,000 acres of wood and farmland have been damaged by the flames.

Israel has deployed drones to cut down the kites, with limited results. Due to the lack of a comprehensive solution to this low-tech, cheap weapon, there have been increasing calls in Israel for the IDF to respond as they would to any other terrorists threatening the country and to shoot the ‘fire kite’ fliers.

Rivlin welcomes 74 Arab women who join the police
President Rivlin and Police chief meet with 29 of the fresh recruits, who say that despite prejudices they have encountered in their sector, to serve in the police is their mission; Rivlin praises knocking ‘down the barriers to make us all come closer together.’
Yishai Porat|Published:  06.23.18 , 10:04
President Reuven Rivlin and Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh met with female police officers from the Arab sector on Wednesday to promote and encourage Arab women to join the police ranks.

During the meeting which was held at the President's Residence in Jerusalem, Rivlin said, "Your presence not only stresses the (advancement of gender equality—ed) but also changes (progressing in the Arab sector-ed)."

"Your actions prove Arab women have the ability to integrate in the public sector, to take down the barriers and to make us all come closer together," Rivlin added proudly.

The Arab Sector Administration head, Major General Jamal Hakroush is responsible of integrating Arab women in the police ranks.

The administration was established in June 2016 aiming to open additional police stations in the Arab sector, integrate them into the police ranks and to hold community activities meant to find mutual grounds for the Jewish and Arab societies, and by doing so bringing them closer together.

Since the administration's establishment, 728 Arab police officers have joined the police, with 74 being women.

Twenty-nine female Arab police officers attended the meeting and spoke about the challenges they face and the importance they see in their work.

"It was said it's not dignified to have an Arab woman serving in the police," Southern District investigator Inas Abu Wasel said.
"It's not easy facing stigmas in the (Arab) sector. I've heard things like 'It's not your country and an Arab questioning an Arab is unacceptable,'" she elaborated.

"A man can have any job he wants and not be judged as a woman. A woman (in the Arab sector) raises children and the entire house relies on her and therefore it's less common (for the woman to work-ed),' Wasel added. "However, one can see the transformation (in the Arab society). I'm on a mission for (my) country."

President Rivlin replied, "The country belongs to both of us. If we work together, if we recognize the unique needs of the Arab society and we wisen up and understand that the defense establishment is working for the good of all of us—all of Israel's citizens—we could live here in prosperity, security and peace.

"You, our dear police officers, have chosen to assume responsibility for our society and act upon it. Despite prejudices, you've proven not only you can do it, but that you are extremely capable in doing it," he concluded.

Police Commissioner Roni Alsheikh also spoke about integrating Arab women into the police force and said the police aim to expand the number of women joining and to promote the women's command potential.

"Our main goal is to give each and every citizen the feeling he is represented in the Israel Police. This is why we strive to recruit female and male police officers from the Arab sector," Alsheikh said.

"An Umm al-Fahm resident who knows his brother is reinforcing the law as a police officer in Rishon LeZion understands the police represents him as well," the commissioner explained.
"The women who are present here today are those who dared to take a step forward and they are truly revolutionaries in the Arab sector. When I look at those young women with their sense of mission I know we are on the right track to make the change we are all wishing for," he concluded.

Video on the inauguration of a plaza in Tulkarem named after terrorist murderer Maher Younes, who kidnapped and murdered an Israeli soldier together with an accomplice.

Tulkarem District Governor Issam Abu Bakr: "We are proud of this great man, this fighter, this leader, Maher Younes (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1), and raise our heads because of this man. This man, the cousin of Karim Younes (i.e., his accomplice in the murder) – they have spent over 35 years [in prison] for the Palestinian people, for the Palestinian people’s freedom. We are proud of them..."

Tulkarem Mayor Muhammad Yaqub: "The city of Tulkarem is honored to name this plaza after heroic prisoner fighter Maher Younes… The presence of a plaza named after him is a great honor for us. I say to the prisoner’s mother, and to his sister, that their tears are pearls on the crown of the future Palestinian state, Allah willing. We’ll continue to be committed, and we’ll remain loyal to our heroic prisoners who are the leaders of the future and honor guards of the entire Arab nation..."

Tulkarem District Governor Issam Abu Bakr: "Since the beginning of the Zionist project, the Palestinian people has been resisting and struggling for freedom. Today in particular, we [express] loyalty to our brave prisoners behind bars."
[Al-Salam, Palestinian internet TV channel, April 17, 2018]

Maher Younes - Israeli Arab serving a 40-year sentence for kidnapping and murdering Israeli soldier Avraham Bromberg in 1980 together with his cousin Karim Younes. Younes was originally sentenced to life in prison, but Israeli President Shimon Peres reduced his sentence in 2012.

Maher and Karim Younes receive a monthly salary from the PA. Since their arrest in January 1983 through May 2018, the PA has paid them a combined total of at least $832,726 (2,887,400 shekels).
In the latest example of Palestinians promoting death and destruction, they named a city square after terrorist Maher Younis.

Palestinian culture places murderers and terrorists on a pedestal, worshiping them as role models.

The Palestinians have named 31 schools after terrorists, as well as town squares, sports events and even playgrounds.

In their latest heinous display of death-worship, the Palestinians named a square in Tulkarem after Maher Younes, a terrorist who murdered IDF soldier Avraham Bromberg in 1980.

“We are proud of this great man, this fighter, this leader, and raise our heads because of this man,” Tulkarem District Governor Issam Abu Bakr boasted.

Israeli Air Force jets have carried out a series of strikes on Gaza, reportedly destroying several Hamas military targets in retaliation to alleged arson attempts and “explosive kites and balloons” being launched at Israel.
"The IDF attacked nine terror targets in two military compounds and a weapons manufacturing facility belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in the northern Gaza Strip in response to the firing of kites and explosives and incendiary attacks on Israeli territory," the army said in a statement. The IDF said that it treats the incident as terrorist acts and will continue to retaliate against such threats from the Gaza Strip against Israeli civilians.

Throughout the Great March of Return protests, which erupted along the Gaza-Israeli border in late March, Palestinians used balloons and kites to send homemade explosive devices into Israel, resulting in a number of fires across southern Israel. Most of them targeted farmlands close to the Gaza border.

In order to put a halt to these activities, Israel has limited the amount of helium gas that can be brought into Gaza, restricting it to medical treatment only. Tel Aviv has also threatened to cut off the gas supply unless the kite attacks cease.

A similar incident occurred on Sunday, when the Israeli Air Force fired shots near a group of Palestinians for “launching arson balloons” in southern Gaza. There were at least two such attacks, the IDF tweeted.

The Israeli military also attacked Palestinians who were allegedly launching “arson balloons” and jets targeted the site from which the group had been operating and their vehicle.

Over 130 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces during the protests along the border with Gaza. The UN General Assembly condemned Israel’s “excessive use of force” against Palestinian demonstrators, adopting a nonbinding resolution last week. US envoy Nikki Haley wanted the final document to have an amendment condemning Hamas, but the proposal failed to draw enough support.

Netanyahu’s PERFECT response when challenged about Gaza
https://israelunwired.com/netanyahus-perfect-response-when-challenged-about-gaza/
By Avi Abelow -  June 14, 2018 10402 0
4NEWS VIDEO
Prime Minister Netanyahu defends Israel’s military measures against the Hamas protesters on the Gaza border.

The world’s silence
The world is silent against the terror Israel has to live with, but vocal in criticizing and defaming Israel for defending herself.  Instead of focusing on the horrible terror that Hamas uses. Instead of ostracizing them for their horrendous method of abusing their own civilians as human shields. The world prefers to criticize Israel’s military for her defensive measures.

When was the last time a Western country had to deal with a terrorist organization, or an enemy, pushing masses of civilians to destroy a border fence, to then have terrorists enter their territory to kill them?

What would Britian do in such a case? How about France? Germany?

A government’s first responsiblity is to protect it’s citizens. That is the basic social contract between elected officials and civilians. More important than job creation, more important than health care. The most important responsibility of any government is to protect the lives of its citizens, NOT to protect the lives of terrorists and their human shields.

Israel and the IDF behave in the most humane way as possible, possibly more humane than any other country in the world. What other country would use live ammunution as a last resort? What other army would have strict rules of engagment that first only allow shooting terrorists in their legs? How many countries would expend resources on warning the enemy to NOT approach the border fence so as not to endanger themselves?

This is what Israel is doing to warn Gazans to NOT approach the fence.

This is the hard work that the IDF sniper unit is doing to avoid deaths as best as possible.

Israel knows that each dead Gazan means another news cycle of Israel bashing in the world media. Hamas actually wants some of their people to be killed because it makes Israel look bad.

World Wake Up
It’s time for the world to wake up and support Israel in our fight against our Muslim enemies. If they haven’t realized yet, all the terror methods used against Israel are then used around the world.

Muslim terrorists used car bombings in Israel, then they took it around the world. They then started car ramming attacks in Israel, and then brought them to the rest of the world. Now they are using mass marches on border fences. How long do you think it will be before terror organizations start mass marches on other borders?

As Prime Minister Netanyahu responded in this video
“If you are successful in finding non-lethal means, I would be the first one to use it.”

This is how Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded when he was publicly challenged on the killing of Hamas protestors in Gaza.

“Why couldn’t you use rubber bullets? And why couldn’t you shoot at their legs in extreme situations? Why did you have to kill them to stop them from scaling the fence?”

Netanyahu responded that what Hamas is doing is a double war crime. They use their own citizens as human shields to then kill innocent Israeli civilians. They force Israel to try to attack terrorists, dressed as civilians, hiding behind civilians. Unconsciousable. Yet the world is silent about this.

The world should be crucifying Hamas, not Israel.

He may very well help bring world peace, but Facebook banned him. After much protest, his page has since been restored. Everyone needs to hear his message as Imam Mohammad Tawhidi speaks out against radical Islam.
WATCH .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioDDQ_cwwBg

Who is Imam Mohammad Tawhidi?
Meet Imam Mohammad Tawhidi. He is also know as the Imam of peace. Tawhidi uses his Facebook page to criticize radical Islam. It’s not common to see Muslims publicly criticizing radical Islams, and his facebook page has almost 100,000 likes. He is doing very important work to bring peace and call out the terrorists. Furthermore, people want to hear this man. He is a breath of fresh air!

Why was he banned?
Tawhidi knows the truth. He isn’t afraid to call Hamas a terrorist organization. And he used sarcastic words to describe them. However, people who are against Imam Tawhidi quickly used this as an excuse to complain to Facebook. They succeeded in getting his page banned! The hypocrisy of this knows no bounds. Islamic extremist groups have verified pages on Facebook, yet this Muslim leader, who calls out the extremists, had his page banned. Apparently, the extremists noticed this comment and used it to lodge complaints, leading to the page ban.

There seems to be a complete lack of priorities here. Radical Islamic groups have pages on Facebook. Yet when the Imam of peace talks about a terror group, they banned his page?!

What is Facebook doing?
Israel has accused Facebook of facilitating Palestinian incitement against Israelis. Facebook has started taking action. They reportedly deleted the account of the Gaza-based Safa news agency, which is close to Hamas.

Incitement on social media can lead to murder. The social media companies need to take responsibility for their platform and stop radical speech. As ideas can spread quickly online, it is critical to ban the terror groups before extremist ideology lead to extremist actions.

Israel Takes Big Step Against Terror-Funding Palestinian Authority
https://unitedwithisrael.org/israel-takes-big-step-against-terror-funding-palestinian-authority/?
Israel advanced its attempts to penalize the PA for incentivizing terror through stipends.

By: United with Israel Staff

By advancing a bill requiring the government to financially penalize the Palestinian Authority (PA), Israel took a big step against the PA’s funding of terror.

The Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Monday unanimously approved, in its second and third readings, a bill that requires the government to deduct the amount the PA pays terrorists from the taxes and tariffs that Israel collects on behalf of the PA.

According to a Defense Ministry report based on the PA’s budget, the PA paid terrorists and their families more than $347 million in 2017, and increased its terror incentives by $56 million to $403 million for 2018.

Israel collects an estimated $2.1 billion in tax revenues for the PA, in accordance with the 1994 Paris Protocol, which governs economic relations with the PA, including import taxes on goods passing through Israel to the Palestinians.

The legislation determines that at the end of each year, the defense minister will draft a report on the funds the PA pays terrorists. The financial penalty will be determined by the report.

The bill mandates the deduction with no options for flexibility and leaves no room for the government to make a new decision each year on whether or not to make the deduction, based on diplomatic and other considerations.

‘Justice Needs to Be Done Here’
The amount deducted will be invested in a fund to pay damages to victims of terrorism, among other areas. The Committee accepted the government’s request to include among the fund’s beneficiaries people whose property has been damaged by terrorism, in light of the recent blazes in the south ignited by fire and explosive kites launched by Palestinians from Gaza.

The Knesset bill is similar to the Taylor Force Act, which recently became law in the US. The Act was inspired by the murder of Taylor Force, a West Point Graduate and United States Army veteran, by a Palestinian terrorist in Tel Aviv in March 2016.

Similarly on Monday, the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee unanimously approved a proposal by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to deduct from PA funds the compensation payments for damages caused by the arson terrorism in the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip.

Netanyahu instructed the director of the National Security Council to advance the proposal and include compensation for fire damages.

“Justice needs to be done here. Whoever burns fields should know that there will be a price,” Netanyahu stated after the approval.

Israel Shares Lifesaving Water Expertise with Iranians
https://unitedwithisrael.org/israel-shares-lifesaving-water-expertise-with-iranians/?utm_source=pushengage&utm_medium=push_notification&utm_campaign=pushengage
Israel’s Foreign Ministry launched a website in Farsi aimed at sharing Israeli water technologies directly with the Iranian people, who are suffering from an unprecedented nationwide drought.

The site provides tips on how to save water and improve their use – unique methods which have been refined by Israelis over the decades.
“The Iranian people are victims of a cruel and tyrannical regime that denies them vital water,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday in a video message recorded in English with Farsi subtitles. “Israel stands with the people of Iran, and that is why I want to help and save countless Iranian lives… Millions of Iranian children are suffering due to mismanagement, incompetence and the theft of vital resources by the Iranian regime.”

According to Iran’s meteorological center, 96 percent of Iranians suffer from some degree of drought, while up to 50 million may be forced to leave their homes as a result of the environmental damage. The year 2018 was the driest in Iran over the past 67 years. This trend has continued for over 30 years, and the constant decline in precipitation indicates that drought will continue and even get worse.

Netanyahu said that like Iran, Israel also faces water shortages and has invented cutting-edge technologies to overcome the challenge.

“Israel recycles nearly 90 percent of its wastewater, that’s far more than any other country on earth… Israel has the know-how to prevent an environmental catastrophe in Iran,” the prime minister said.

Netanyahu added that he wanted to “share this information with the people of Iran,” but that “sadly,” Iran bans Israelis from visiting the country. Therefore, Israel will “have to get creative,” he continued, announcing that Israel has launched a Farsi website with detailed plans on how Iranians can recycle their wastewater.

“We will show Iranian farmers how they can save their crops and feed their families,’” he stated.

“The Iranian regime shouts ‘death to Israel.’ In response, Israel shouts ‘life to the Iranian people!’ The people of Iran are good and decent, they shouldn’t have to face such a cruel regime alone. We are with you. We will help so that millions of Iranians wouldn’t have to suffer. The hatred of Iran’s regime will not stop the respect and the friendship between our two peoples,” Netanyahu concluded.

Innovative Diplomacy
Sharona Avginesaz, director of the Ministry of Foreign Affair’s digital media in Farsi, told IDF Radio on Monday that Israel is differentiating between the Iranian people, to whom it wants to show friendship, and the regime.

The information is also passed through the Telegram messaging application. Thousands have already joined the channel, and the responses are very positive, she said.

This innovative approach follows another recent message by Netanyahu to the Iranian people in which he expressed admiration for their creativity and culture.

Israel is world-famous for its advanced water technologies, which provides solutions to even the driest and most barren areas on earth. With many years of experience in making its southern desert, the Negev, bloom, Israel has become a leading force in providing aqua know-how to countries around the planet.

Although Israel has experienced drought in recent years, it is managing an over-capacity of water due to intense water management and desalination production. Other countries are turning to Israel for help.

Over the years, Israel has transformed itself from a country with serious water shortages to a global water powerhouse, exporting its prowess to arid regions around the world.

Video purports to show slain Gaza nurse throwing gas grenade
IDF's Arabic-language spokesman posts video on Facebook purporting to show Razan Najjar, who was killed in clashes on the Gaza border last week, throwing a gas grenade; 'Hamas used her as a human shield,' the IDF says.

The IDF's Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee posted a video on his Facebook page on Thursday purporting to show Palestinian nurse Razan Najjar, who was killed in clashes on the Gaza border last week, throwing a gas grenade.

"She's not a merciful angel," text on the screen says. "Hamas used her as a human shield."

Najjar, 21, is the second woman killed in the rioting since they began in March. She lived Khuzaa, a village near Khan Yunis that is close to the border and has served as one of five protest encampments across Gaza in recent weeks.

Palestinian health officials and witnesses claimed IDF forces shot dead Najjar, a volunteer medic, as she ran towards the border fence, east of the south Gaza city of Khan Yunis, in a bid to reach a casualty.

Fares al-Kidra, a colleague of Najjar, said they were approaching the fence to evacuate a wounded man and, as they were leaving, three gunshots were heard and Najjar fell to the ground.

Al-Mezan, a Gaza-based rights group, said Najjar was 100 meters from the fence and wearing a clearly marked paramedic's vest when she was shot.

Social media videos, and one captured by Associated Press footage, purported to show Najjar and a cohort of medics walking toward the fence and raising their hands to reach a wounded man lying on the ground. Najjar wore a dark blue headscarf and a white coat with the logo of the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, where she volunteered.

An initial IDF investigation of the incident found that while a small number of bullets were fired during the incident, the gunfire wasn't aimed at the Palestinian nurse. One possibility is that Najjar was killed by the ricochet of a bullet.

The IDF said the investigation is still ongoing.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Following Gaza border blazes, ‘terror kites’ see first use in West Bank

Mimicking tactics that have been increasingly used as part of violent Gaza border protests in recent weeks, Palestinians in the West Bank launched what are believed to be the first incendiary kites used there Thursday.

The kites were flown over the settlements of Matan, Yarhiv and Nirit, three Jewish communities in the West Bank near the central Israeli city of Kfar Saba.
One of the kites caused a fire in a field, which was quickly put out without major damage, while another struck a power line, causing a power outage in the area for several hours.

Hundreds of incendiary kites have been flown over the Gaza border as part of the weekly Palestinian protests, dubbed the “March of Return,” beginning in March.

Based on Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman’s assessment Monday that 600 such balloons and kites have been sent over the border with some 400 of them intercepted by the IDF, and 200 that landed in Israeli territory, sparking 198 fires.

Some 17,500 dunams (4,300 acres, or nearly seven square miles) of land on the Israeli side of the Gaza border have been burned in the fires over the past two months, more than half of them in nature reserves, according to initial assessments.

The fires, specifically those in the nature reserves, have also wreaked havoc on local wildlife, according to ecologists.

According to the Nature and Parks Authority, approximately 10,000 dunams in parks and reserves in southern Israel were burned, although a spokesperson for the authority said investigations were still underway to determine exactly how much of that was caused by incendiary kites and balloons, and how much was from other sources.

Helium balloons were added recently to some kites to enable the burning fuel to fly further. In both cases, the flying object is fitted with a long string to which a Molotov cocktail or burning fuel is attached.

In two months of mass protests at the Gaza border, some 110 Palestinians were killed and thousands wounded by Israeli military fire. Dozens of the fatalities were members of terror groups, Hamas and Islamic Jihad acknowledged. Israel said its troops were defending its border and accused Hamas of trying to carry out attacks under the cover of the protests.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that in order to cover the cost of damage to the fields, the government would withhold funds from the Palestinian Authority.
The decision raised eyebrows among Israeli analysts, who pointed out that the PA does not control the Gaza Strip. Indeed, the Authority’s primary rival, the Hamas terror group, has ruled the enclave since ousting the PA in 2007.
