The Smithsonian Institute’s Global Volcanism Program reported this week that at least 19 volcanoes are currently erupting around the world. The organization was unconcerned about the wave of eruptions.



“The number of volcanoes erupting right now is normal,” Global Volcanism Program Director Ben Andrews told Newsweek. “There are currently 46 ongoing eruptions, and over the past 30 years there have generally been about 40-50 eruptions happening at any given time. Since 1991, there have been between 56 and 88 eruptions each year; 67 eruptions have happened thus far this year, and there were 85 in 2022.”

The eruptions are on several disperse continents and countries but particular focus is being directed towards Iceland where scientists warn that a recent week-long wave of over 1,200 earthquakes presages a period of prolonged and intense seismic unrest. The strongest quake measured 3.8 but the micro-quakes signalled activity below the surface. Scientists estimate that a layer of magma is about 500 meters below the surface and is working its way to the surface.


Last weekend, the Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO) announced that after a sharp rise in seismic activity, a volcanic eruption was likely in the Reykjanes Peninsula. As of Thursday, the possibility of an eruption remains significantly high.

Evacuations began and authorities began building protective walls around exposed infrastructure like power plants.

But the real fear is that an eruption is part of a 1,000-year cycle of volcanic activity that will likely cause eruptions for centuries.-

“Time’s finally up,” Edward W. Marshall, a researcher at the University of Iceland’s Nordic Volcanological Center, told Live Science in an email. “We can get ready for another few hundred years of eruptions on the Reykjanes.”

The last volcano in Iceland to cause international mayhem was Eyjafjallajökull, which erupted in 2010. A huge ash cloud that rose five miles into the sky and grounded flights across Europe, forcing its airspace to shut down.

The topic of “volcanoes” became relevant to the conflict in Israel. On Saturday, Hezbollah claimed to have fired a Burkan 2-H missile at Israel bearing a 100 kilogram warhead. Burkan means ‘volcano’ in Arabic.

This type of cataclysmic seismic activity is mentioned specifically by the prophets as an aspect of the End-of-Days process.

The prophet describes this catastrophic period as a process to purify the inhabitants of the earth for the Messianic period to follow.

“And I will bring the third part through the fire and will refine them as silver is refined and will try them as gold is tried; they shall call on My name and I will answer them; I will say: ‘It is My people’ and they shall say: ‘Hashem is my God.’” Zechariah 13:9

The Prophet Ezekiel specifically described earthquakes as preceding the War of Gog and Magog.

Mountains shall be overthrown, cliffs shall topple, and every wall shall crumble to the ground. Ezekiel 38:20

The term is used by rabbis and Jewish theologians to describe the tension between God’s greater plan in light of Man’s will and actions. This is especially relevant in reference to the Messiah and Man’s actions affecting when the Messiah will arrive. Some rabbis have attributed this pre-Magog shake-up as God entering into the fray, using the forces of nature as his weapons of choice.

“AN ENORMOUS thud” - that’s the description of what the earth tremor that hit South Wales last night felt like.

A tremor occurred at 11.59 pm on Friday, February 24, with a magnitude of 3.8 magnitude about eight miles north of the Rhondda Valley, with the exact location being Llangenny - small village on the slopes of the Sugar Loaf Mountain.

Argus columnist Jon Powell, 55, was seven miles away from the epicentre of the tremor when it hit, in Gilwern, between Abergavenny and Brymawr.
He said it was like a train coming through, but was very short-lived.

“There was an enormous thud of about two to three seconds, a rumbling like a train going through all of a sudden we had security lights going off,” said Mr Powell. “I thought someone had fallen in the house. It was very quick, pretty weird and pretty intense.”

Incredibly, it’s not the first earthquake Mr Powell has experienced in Wales. He described how ten years ago he remembered a similar event in the same house, in the room next door to the one he was in for last night’s tremor.

Mr Powell, who is a bit of an authority on geology and astronomy, said the tremor – which he insisted should be termed a tremor rather than a quake – was nothing to worry about.

“To come up in Quake Feed and register, that is a decent tremor,” said Mr Powell. “It’s nothing to worry about though. It’s just a nudge from mother nature. These things can happen.”

In a statement released on Saturday morning, the UK's main provider of earthquake data, the British Geological Survey wrote: "BGS has received reports from residents throughout the region, mainly from within around 40km of the epicentre.”

The last earthquake recorded in the UK was apparently in Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire in September 22, 2020, with tremors of 3.0 and 2.1 magnitude.

The largest known earthquake in the UK was in the North Sea in June 7, 1931, according to the BGS, recording a magnitude of 6.1. Its epicentre was located offshore in the Dogger Bank area, approximately 120 km northeast of Great Yarmouth.

Last time Turkey had an earthquake of this magnitude was in 1939 where it killed 33,000 people.

The AP reported the following:

“Buildings were reported collapsed in a wide area extending from Syria’s cities of Aleppo and Hama to Turkey’s Diyarbakir, more than 330 kilometers (200 miles) to the northeast. Nearly 3,000 buildings came down in Turkey, according to Erdogan. A hospital collapsed in the Mediterranean coastal city of Iskanderoun, but casualties were not immediately known.”


The earthquake could be felt all the way in Israel, with residents in Raanana and Netanya reporting they felt the earthquake.

The region of the earthquake in Turkey sits on a major fault line and earthquakes are common. In quake also devastated northwestern Syria. This area is under the occupation of the opposition. This means residents and refugees don’t have proper housing or medical supplies.

Israel has offered assistance to Turkey. No confirmation as of yet on whether Istanbul has accepted.

Amajor earthquake hit the Turkey-Syria border region on Monday and was felt also in Israel. A phenomenon occurring in the region for millennia, earthquakes are widely discussed in the Bible and other Jewish sources.

EARTHQUAKES IN JEWISH TRADITION
Jewish tradition has much to say about earthquakes as a sign of God’s interaction with the earth. The Mishna in Tractate Brachot (54A) says that when a person witnesses an earthquake, he should make the blessing “Blessed be He whose strength and power fill the world.”

The Sefrei Devarim teaches that when God gave the Torah to Israel at Mount Sinai, He “thundered” the entire world on its inhabitants.” This global earthquake is based on a verse in Psalms:

The voice of Hashem is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, Hashem, over the mighty waters. Psalms 29:3

The Zohar Chadash (Ruth 59) claims that earthquakes transpire when God gazes down at that specific part of the earth.

END OF DAYS
Earthquakes are prophesied to accompany the end-of-days. Earthquakes and volcanoes are explicitly mentioned by the prophets as playing a role in the end of days, preparing the world by burning away impurities as a crucible is used in metallurgy to purify metal.

EARTHQUAKES AND PROPHECY
As terrifying as earthquakes can be, there may be a silver lining to an increase in regional seismic activity. In a 2007 article in the J-Post, Dr. Shmuel Marco, Head of the School of the Environment and Earth Sciences at Tel Aviv University, noted that prophets became active a certain number of years after major earthquakes. Major earthquakes were recorded in the Jordan Valley in the years 31 BCE, 363 CE, 749 CE, and 1033 CE.

“So roughly,” wrote Marco, “we are talking about an interval of every 400 years. If we follow the patterns of nature, a major quake should be expected any time because almost a whole millennium has passed since the last strong earthquake.”

Dr. Marco went so far as to attribute Joshua’s victory at Jericho to divinely directed seismic interference.

“The destruction of the walls of the city and the damming of the river, as described in Joshua 6:1-16, is generally agreed by most archeologists to be the result of an earthquake, possibly on the Jericho Fault,” Dr.Marco wrote.

Dr. Marco’s theory is consistent with the story of Prophets Amos and Zechariah whose periods of prophecy were expressly oriented around a major earthquake.

The words of Amos, a sheep breeder from Tekoa, who prophesied concerning Yisrael in the reigns of Kings Uzziyahu of Yehuda and Yerovam son of Yoash of Yisrael, two years before the earthquake. Amos 1:1

This wasn't "the Big One", but hopefully it will serve as a wake up call for millions of California residents.  The magnitude 6.4 earthquake that just struck northern California killed two people and caused quite a bit of damage, but scientists have been persistently warning us that someday a massive earthquake will hit the region that will be absolutely catastrophic.  

In fact, just one day before the magnitude 6.4 earthquake hit northern California, we were specifically warned that someday a very large quake in northern California could cause "thousands of deaths and billions of dollars in damage".  The following was posted by the Daily Mail on December 19th...

Seismologists say San Francisco is due a devastating earthquake in the not-too-distant future - potentially causing thousands of deaths and billions of dollars in damage.

The United States Geological Survey predicts there is a 51 percent chance of a magnitude 7 quake hitting within the next three decades - releasing energy equivalent to around 1,000 atomic bombs.

A quake of that magnitude would ruin buildings, shut off electricity and vital communications, and cause huge wildfires, according to government modeling.

So is it just a coincidence that a magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck the region just one day later?

Maybe.

According to Fox News, the quake that just hit Humboldt County caused substantial damage "to roads and homes"...

The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office warned in an alert of "widespread damages to roads and homes" reported throughout the county after a magnitude 6.4 earthquake shook the northern California coast early Tuesday morning.

"Due to a large earthquake, widespread damages to roads and homes are reported throughout Humboldt County. Be prepared for aftershocks. Check gas and water lines for damages or leaks. Exercise caution if traveling," it said in a tweet.

This is the largest earthquake that the state has experienced in quite a while, and one local resident says that the shaking lasted for about 15 to 20 seconds...

Jimmy Eller, who claims to live in the county, tweeted: "That earthquake was insane. A good 15-20 seconds of shaking."

Those that have felt the ground violently shaking under their feet will never forget the sensation.

Another local resident that has lived in the region for 65 years claims that this latest earthquake is the biggest one that she has ever been through...

Diana McIntosh, 69, said the temblor woke her up inside her home in an apartment complex in central Humboldt County.

"It felt like north and south rocked back and forth, and it kept getting bigger and bigger. I heard banging, things crashing and glass shattering," said McIntosh, who lives alone in her apartment off the freeway near the Pacific Ocean.

McIntosh, who said she has lived in the Eureka area for 65 years, called it the biggest earthquake she has ever experienced.

"I was screaming," she said. "The way that it shook ... I've never felt anything like that in my life."

So was this the main event, or is an even larger earthquake eventually coming?

Nobody really knows, but so far there have been approximately 80 aftershocks...

Up to 80 aftershocks rattled parts of Northern California after a 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit the area early Tuesday, according to California Governor's Office of Emergency Services Director Mark Ghilarducci.

The largest aftershock was a 4.6 magnitude quake which happened in Rio Dell, which he described as one of the "hardest hit areas."

Hopefully things will settle down for at least a little while.

But as I discussed last month, we have seen a lot of very unusual earthquakes lately.

And as I discussed earlier this month, volcanic activity has also been on the rise all over the globe.

We are witnessing a tremendous amount of instability all over the planet, and this is particularly true in high risk zones.

Of course the entire west coast of the United States sits directly along the Ring of Fire, and I have been warning for years that there will eventually be extremely catastrophic seismic events that will permanently alter the geography of the coastline.

Scientists have been issuing similar warnings.  In addition to warning about what could happen to northern California, they have also pointed out how vulnerable southern California, Oregon and Washington are...

A 2008 scenario said a magnitude 7.8 quake could cause nearly 2,000 deaths and more than $200 billion in economic losses. Big quakes in Los Angeles are particularly devastating because the soil holding up the city will turn into a "bowl of jelly," according to a post published by catastrophe modeling company Temblor.

Another scenario warns that a stretch of coast in Oregon and Washington state is capable of producing an earthquake much more powerful than the ones California is bracing for. Parts of coastline would suddenly drop 6 feet, shattering critical bridges, destroying undersea communication cables and producing a tsunami.

Thousands are expected to die, but local leaders are considering projects that could give coastal residents a better chance at survival.

But most people that live along the west coast are not interested in such warnings.

Thankfully, the U.S. Geological Survey has now developed a system that gives people advance notice when an earthquake is coming.  In fact, it worked as designed during this latest event...

Some Bay Area residents were promptly woken up by a ShakeAlert app notification 10 seconds before a 6.4-magnitude earthquake in Humboldt County early Tuesday morning. At 2:34 a.m., emergency officials released an alert via the ShakeAlert system operated by the U.S. Geological Survey telling people to drop, cover and hold on for an earthquake that occurred about 8 miles offshore of Ferndale, a town more than 250 miles north of San Francisco.

The alert was sent to some 3 million people in Northern California, and the system successfully operated as emergency service crews hoped, said Mark Ghilarducci, director of the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services.

A 10 second warning may allow you to drop and cover, but if a giant tsunami is racing toward the coastline a 10 second warning won't do you much good at all.

The experts assure us that it is just a matter of time before a massive seismic event kills vast numbers of people along the west coast.

But for the moment, ignorance is bliss, and most people that live in the region will continue to pretend that everything is just fine.

Here are three prayers for those in the path of Hurricane Ian, as well as a few ways we can support our brothers and sisters from afar during natural disasters:

A Prayer for God’s Protection During the Storm
Heavenly Father,

We pray that your hand of protection would be over Florida right now and throughout these next few days. For those staying, we ask that your powerful protection will be with them through the storm. For those evacuating, provide them with a safe route. We know that you are more powerful than any hurricane or natural disaster that comes our way. Remind them that you are our rock, fortress, and deliverer (Psalm 18:2). We lift every single person in the path of this storm up to you. May you protect them and guide them to safety with your wisdom.


A Prayer for People to Trust in Him
Heavenly Father,

We pray for all those facing this hurricane head-on that they would find comfort in you. As this storm makes its way closer and closer, it can be easy to lose sight of your power and protection. Remind them that you are ultimately in control. That no matter what we face, we can trust you. We pray that civilians, as well as those providing disaster relief, would find comfort in knowing you are a loving God and have always had a plan for each of our lives. We pray that your comfort would cover them like a blanket while this storm passes.

A Prayer for Restoration
Heavenly Father,

We pray that after Hurricane Ian passes, restoration would occur. We pray that damage would be minimal and that if rescues are necessary, they would be successful. We pray not only for the restoration of physical property but the restoration of hearts. Draw those near to you that are fearful – restore in them a trusting heart that leans on you. We pray you would give each community the strength to help each other rebuild and to come together in love and support for one another. For those of us who are safe from the storm, ignite in us a passion for those who are affected. Lead us to show our support and help in any way that we can.

In addition to these prayers, here are three more ways to support our neighbors during a natural disaster:

Reach Out
I’m sure most of us know at least one friend or family member living in Florida or in other areas that will be affected by the hurricane. If you know anyone in its path, reach out to them! Call them today, or send them an encouraging text message. There is so much comfort in knowing that someone is thinking of you and praying for you in the midst of a scary situation. This simple act can be a wonderful way to show God’s love and support for others, even from far away.

Here are a few encouraging Bible verses to share with others as this storm approaches:

Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your feet from being snared. (Proverbs 3:25-26).

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. (Psalm 46:1-2)


I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91:2)

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. (Isaiah 43:2)

The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him. (Nahum 1:7)

Stay Informed
Another very simple way we can support others from afar is by simply staying informed about what’s happening with the hurricane, as well as the after-effects. By doing this, we can be praying for the specific areas and people that are being affected throughout the course of the storm. If there are areas experiencing power outages, we can pray specifically for the people in those areas. If we are informed of any disaster relief teams being deployed, we can pray for their safety as well as courage. By staying in the know, we can better support those who are directly affected.

Another powerful 6.8 earthquake has struck Mexico leaving fatalities and landslides
Another significant and deadly earthquake struck the same Mexican state reeling from a major earthquake earlier in the week. At least two people are dead in Mexico City and damage and landslides were reported in Michoacán state, where both quakes were centered, according to the Associated Press.
T​he 6.8-magnitude quake is technically the strongest of more than 1,200 aftershocks from Monday’s deadly 7.6-magnitude earthquake. T​he earthquake was once again felt more than 200 miles away in Mexico City, but no damage was reported in the capital city, the city’s mayor said.

7.6 earthquake that struck Mexico triggered a “desert tsunami” 1500 miles away in Death Valley National Park
A 7.6-magnitude earthquake 1,500 miles away triggered a “desert tsunami” in Death Valley National Park, rangers said. The earthquake struck Mexico near the Colima-Michoacan border on Monday, Sept. 19, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Less than a half-hour later, Death Valley started shaking. “Twenty-two minutes later, water started sloshing 1,500 miles away in Devils Hole,” park rangers said in a Sept. 21 news release. “The waves reached 4 feet high around 11:35 a.m.”
Devils Hole is a limestone cave in Nevada’s portion of the national park that’s partially filled with water.

DEVELOPING: Swarm of 25 earthquakes rattles California’s Salton Sea in 24 hours
More than two dozen earthquakes have rattled California’s Salton Sea in 24 hours, geologists said. The earthquakes began with a 3.5-magnitude earthquake that struck near Bombay Beach at 11:34 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
Several other earthquakes followed, ranging in magnitude from 1.2 to 2.7. Few people reported feeling the earthquakes because of their remote location.
The Salton Sea is a shallow saline lake in the California desert.

Tonga volcano has erupted eight times in 48 hours
A volcano north of Tonga’s main island has erupted eight times in the past 48 hours, according to the Pacific nation’s geological service, which has warned mariners to keep their distance Tuesday. The Home Reef volcano has been erupting for the past 10 days, oozing molten lava and shooting steam and ash at least three kilometres (almost two miles) into the air.
Home Reef’s eruption currently poses a low risk to “residents of Vava’u and Ha’apai” — two of Tonga’s most populated islands — the geological service’s Volcano Watch Team said in a statement.

Huge 7.5 magnitude earthquake strikes off coast of Mexico
(DEVELOPING) A magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck off the coast of La Placita de Morelos in western Mexico, the U.S. Geological Survey said on Monday.
The quake struck 46 km (29 miles) south-southeast of La Placita de Morelos in the state of Michoacan and was at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles), USGS said. The U.S. Tsunami Warning System said there was risk of a tsunami Near the coast Of Michoacan. (Reuters)
Alarms for the new quake came less than an hour after a quake alarm sounded in a nationwide earthquake simulation marking major quakes that struck on the same date in 1985 and 2017.

Strong 6.4 earthquake rocks southeast Taiwan
A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.4 shook southeastern Taiwan on Saturday but there were no immediate reports of damage and no power outages.
The quake had a depth of 7.3 km (4.5 miles) with its epicenter in Taitung county, a sparsely populated part of the island, the Taiwan weather bureau said.
Taitung county commissioner April Yao wrote on her Facebook page the quake was “extremely strong”, while the official Central News Agency showed a picture of bottles that had been shaken off their shelves in a Taitung shop.

Small quakes rattle Northern Arkansas and Southeastern Missouri in the heart of the New Madrid
A pair of relatively weak earthquakes rattled portions of northern Arkansas and southeastern Missouri today, where dozens of seismic events have unfolded in recent weeks near the heart of an area known as the New Madrid Seismic Zone, or NMSZ for short. 58 earthquakes have rattled the region in the last 30 days, some strong or loud enough to be felt or heard by residents, according to USGS.

Powerful magnitude 6.9 earthquake strikes Taiwan, triggering tsunami warning
A powerful 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit Taiwan Sunday, derailing carriages and prompting tsunami warnings in southern Japan.
The U.S. Geological Survey measured the quake at 7.2-magnitude before downgrading it to 6.9 and said the tsunami threat had passed.
Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau said the quake, which struck near Taitung city on its southeastern coast, registered 6.8 magnitude and was a relatively shallow depth of 4 miles.
A series of after-shocks were felt across the island, including in Taipei, which is more than 200 miles away.

Northern California rattled by 4.4 magnitude earthquake
A 4.4 magnitude earthquake in Northern California prompted a response from fire officials over reported gas leaks, odor of gas, fire alarms going off, and stuck elevators Tuesday evening, according to the Santa Rosa Fire Department.
The earthquake was centered in Santa Rosa, which is a little over 50 miles north of San Francisco. The 4.4 temblor, which struck around 6:39 p.m. PT was quickly followed by a 3.9 magnitude one, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

UPDATE: Massive quake in Philippines has killed 5 and injured dozens, destroyed homes and structures
A strong earthquake set off landslides and damaged buildings in the northern Philippines on Wednesday, killing at least five people and injuring dozens. In the capital, hospital patients were evacuated and terrified people rushed outdoors.
The 7-magnitude quake was centered in a mountainous area of Abra province, said Renato Solidum, the head of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, who described the midmorning shaking as a major earthquake.

Powerful 7.1 earthquake strikes Dolores in Philippines, Strongly felt in Manila
An earthquake of magnitude 7.1 struck near Dolores in the Philippines on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said, while a Reuters witness said it was strongly felt in the country’s capital Manila.

The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6 miles), USGS added. USGS said the earthquake’s epicenter was about 11 km east-southeast of Dolores.

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake shook southern Iran at 2:00 AM local time on Saturday, killing five and injuring at least 50. The seismic event was followed by approximately 30 aftershocks, with two measuring at 6.3 and 6.1. 

DEADLY IRAN QUAKES
“All of the victims died in the first earthquake, and no one was harmed in the next two severe quakes as people were already outside their homes,” said Foad Moradzadeh, governor of Bandar Lengeh country, quoted by the state news agency IRNA.

Iran is one of the most seismically active countries in the world, being crossed by several major faults covering at least 90% of the country. As a result, earthquakes in Iran occur often and are destructive. Iran is well known for its long history of disastrous earthquake activity. 

State TV said 150 quakes and tremors had struck the western Hormozgan province over the past month.

In April last year, a magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit Bushehr, where a major nuclear power plant is located. In southeastern Iran’s Kerman province, a 6.6 magnitude earthquake killed more than 31,000 people and flattened the ancient city of Bam in 2003.

The recent tremors were felt in the United Arab Emirates and other neighboring Gulf states. According to USGS, other impacted countries include Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, and Afghanistan.

Last month at least 1,000 people died in an earthquake in Paktika, a mountainous region in eastern Afghanistan.

GENTLE QUAKES IN ISRAEL
The earthquakes in Iran come in sharp contrast to a recent series of tremors in Israel.  Last Wednesday night, a 3.1 magnitude earthquake shook northern Israel. 

There were no reports of injuries or damage. Israel’s Geological Survey tracked the quake, saying it was centered 13 kilometers (8 miles) northeast of Beit She’an, on the border with Jordan, at a depth of 13 kilometers.

In January, a large 6.5-magnitude quake hit off the west coast of Cyprus and was felt in nearby Israel, Lebanon and Turkey. Less than two weeks later, two small earthquakes hit northern Israel. In early February, another quake off the coast of Cyprus was felt in Israel. In late February, two small earthquakes, 3.5 and 3.2, shook northern Israel. Another minor earthquake took place off the coast last month.

While most of these earthquakes shook seismically active regions, it should be noted that Israel sits on t; Israeli quakes have been far more gentle than those experienced by Iran.

EARTHQUAKES AND PROPHECY
As terrifying as earthquakes can be, there may be a silver lining to an increase in regional seismic activity. In a 2007 article in the J-Post, Dr. Shmuel Marco,  Head of the School of the Environment and Earth Sciences at Tel Aviv University, noted that prophets became active a certain number of years after major earthquakes. Major earthquakes were recorded in the Jordan Valley in the years 31 BCE, 363 CE, 749 CE and 1033 CE. 

“So roughly,” wrote Marco,,,,,, “we are talking about an interval of every 400 years. If we follow the patterns of nature, a major quake should be expected any time because almost a whole millennium has passed since the last strong earthquake.”

Dr. Marco went so far as to attribute Joshua’s victory at Jericho to divinely directed seismic interference. 

“The destruction of the walls of the city and the damming of the river, as described in Joshua 6:1-16, is generally agreed by most archeologists to be the result of an earthquake, possibly on the Jericho Fault,” Dr.Marco wrote.

Earthquakes are prophesied to accompany the end-of-days however earthquakes inside Israel will m; manifest in a vastly different manner as compared to those outside the Holy Land. 

Massive earthquakes in Israel are prophesied to accompany the multinational Gog and Magog conflict that will signal the end of times.

Jewish esoteric sources explain that God Himself will play a role in the final pre-Messiah war with natural forces fighting against the enemies of Israel.

Back-to-Back 6.3 earthquakes strike Iran, Felt in UAE, Deaths reported
At least three people were killed by a magnitude 6.1 earthquake in southern Iran early on Saturday, state television reported. “Unfortunately up to now we have had three deaths and eight wounded,” Mehrdad Hassanzadeh, head of emergency management in Hormozgan Province on Iran’s Gulf coast, told the television.
Iranian media put the strength of the quake at 6.1 while the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said it had a 6.0 magnitude. The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), EMSC said.

Magnitude 3.9 earthquake wakens residents in Georgia
People living in parts of Georgia woke up to an earthquake Saturday morning. The earthquake was initially reported as a 4.5 magnitude by the United States Geological Survey but was confirmed as a 3.9, which is considered minor.
Still, according to News4JAX sister station WKMG, Saturday’s quake ties for the fifth strongest on record in the area. The strongest earthquake ever recorded in the state was magnitude 4.5 in 1914.
The center was just outside of Statesboro, and according to WKMG, the earthquake was reportedly felt as far south as Brunswick, and as far north as Columbia, South Carolina.

6.1 earthquake strikes remote island near Australia’s southern coast
A magnitude 6.1 earthquake has struck a remote island near Australia’s southern coast. According to the Daily Mail, The quake hit west of Macquarie Island, which is about 1,600km southeast of Tasmania late on Saturday night.
It had a depth of 10km and is believed to have been felt just after 11 pm. No damage has been reported. Just two weeks ago the island was rocked by a 7.3 magnitude earthquake. Macquarie Island is home to the Australian Antarctic Division station, which is occupied all year round.

San Francisco Bay Area jolted by 4.1 earthquake, Homes rattled, Residents awakened
A 4.1 magnitude earthquake gave the San Francisco Bay area an early morning wake-up call Thursday. The U.S. Geological Survey said the 4:07 a.m. quake struck several miles northwest of Bay Point at a depth of 12.2 mimiles (19.7 kilometers).
A 1.9 magnitude aftershock quickly followed, according to CBS San Francisco. The area is about 30 miles northeast of downtown San Francisco. There were no immediate reports of damage, CBS San Francisco reported.

Strong earthquakes leave at least 4 dead over a dozen injured and homes damaged in China
Two earthquakes killed at least four people and damaged houses in southwestern China on Wednesday, authorities and state media said. Fourteen others were injured, at least one seriously, state broadcaster CCTV said in an online report. All of the dead and injured were in Baoxing county in Sichuan province.
A magnitude 6.1 quake struck at a depth of 17 kilometers (10 miles) in Ya’an city, about 110 kilometers (65 miles) southwest of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan, the China Earthquake Network Center said.

An early-morning earthquake hit near the Tennessee-Missouri border, rattling dozens of people on Tuesday, May 31. The 3.1-magnitude tremor was the largest of several quakes that hit the region this week, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
