JOSE UPGRADED TO CAT 4 AS IT HEADS TO ISLANDS ALREADY DESTROYED BY IRMA

Jose upgraded to Cat 4 as it heads to islands already destroyed by Irma
Hurricane Jose has been upgraded as it pushes towards Caribbean islands already destroyed by Irma. The National Hurricane Centre said that its planes had found Jose is now a Category 4 hurricane, with speeds of up to 150 miles per hour. Hurricane categories go up to 5, but it is possible that Jose will be further upgraded before it makes landfall. The new hurricane’s path passes over many of the islands that took the biggest beating from Irma, including Barbuda and St Martin.
Countries including France and the UK have sent resources and people to the islands in an attempt to get them resilient before Saturday when the huge new storm is set to arrive. Two Dutch navy ships were in St. Martin with vital supplies. And two Dutch military aircraft were being sent the island of Curacao and on to St. Martin to deliver food and water intended to last the population of 40,000 five days.

Tropical Storm Jose Expected to Become Hurricane
As all eyes are on the forecast track of Hurricane Irma, another tropical system strengthened Wednesday in the open Atlantic Ocean far from land and is expected to become a hurricane. Tropical Storm Jose is located around 1,255 miles east of the Lesser Antilles, and has maximum sustained winds of 60 mph, the National Hurricane Center said in its 5 a.m. ET advisory. Jose is moving west at about 13 mph, according
to the NHC. “Additional strengthening is forecast, and Jose is expected to become a hurricane by tonight,” the NHC said. Jose is the 10th named storm of the year, and comes as powerful Hurricane Irma, a Category 5 storm, moves toward Antigua and perhaps the U.S., after Harvey devastated Texas with record amounts of rain.

Hurricane Jose appears to be following the exact path of Hurricane Irma and is heading directly towards the Caribbean.
From there it may continue towards Florida and the US eastern seaboard, although such forecasts are sketchy.

“At the very least, rough surf will be stirred once again.”
Meanwhile Weather Channel meteorologist Ari Sarsalari said: "This one doesn’t pose as much of a threat to the direct southeastern United States as Irma does.
"But the Leeward Islands would end up with another one-two punch.
“This could be pretty bad for them.
