In 2022, there were over 2.76 million illegal migrant crossings at the Southwest border. That’s roughly the population of Chicago, America’s third largest city. To address this unprecedented surge, President Biden recently announced tougher restrictions and made a show of visiting the border himself.
But unlike a decade or two ago, when the immigration debate was mostly about economics, today it’s an issue that’s subsumed by the culture wars and our polarized discourse. Republican governors bus migrants to sanctuary cities and they’re called “xenophobic” and “cruel” by the left. But what happens when a Democratic governor does much the same thing, bussing migrants from Colorado to New York City and Chicago? Is it still a heartless political stunt? Or is all of this just an inevitable consequence of our broken immigration system?
So this week: a debate moderated by guest host Kmele Foster between Alex Nowrasteh and Jessica Vaughan. Are current levels of immigration helping or hurting America? How do we balance humanitarian concerns with America’s economic and security needs? Should we be trying to enforce more or less restrictions at the border? And what exactly should we do to fix our immigration policies?
Alex is the director of Economic and Social Policy Studies at the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank. Jessica is the director of Policy Studies for the Center for Immigration Studies, a think tank that describes themselves as “pro-immigrant but low immigration.”
While Alex and Jessica couldn’t be more opposite in their approach—Alex favors free immigration, while Jessica argues for restrictionist policies—in this episode of Honestly we look for common ground, debate the facts, and search for solutions.

There are still about 60,000 ballots left to count in Georgia as the presidential race there comes down to the wire, the Georgia secretary of state's office announced in a press conference Thursday morning.
POLL: Who is the most corrupt?
In a press release, the office confirmed that as of 9:15 a.m. ET, there were approximately 61,367 outstanding mail-in absentee ballots that remain uncounted.
The updated number came as a surprise to many watching the election closely, as only hours before, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger indicated that the number of uncounted ballots was under 25,000.
During the press conference, when asked about the discrepancy, Georgia's statewide voting system implementation manager, Gabriel Sterling, explained that the number could fluctuate as counties intermittently report results. He even said that some of the discrepancy could be due to the simple human error of precinct workers forgetting to hit "upload."
He also described the number of absentee ballots as a "moving target," but assured that all things are proceeding smoothly and accurately.

As it stands, President Trump still leads Democratic challenger Joe Biden by a margin of roughly 18,500 votes, but his lead has narrowed considerably as mail-in absentee ballots flow in, especially from predominantly Democratic counties like Fulton and Clayton counties.
Sterling said that as of Thursday morning, Fulton County, home to Atlanta, still had slightly over 11,000 ballots to count and Clayton County had roughly 7,000.
Sterling stressed that while state workers want to turn in results quickly, accuracy was far more important. He added that in addition to absentee ballots and provisional ballots, overseas military ballots would still need to be counted. Given the extremely narrow margin in the state, it is becoming increasingly likely that an official projection of who won the state will be delayed significantly and will likely be contested.
Under Georgia state law, if the final tally is within half of a percentage point, the losing candidate can request a recount.
The Trump campaign has already filed a lawsuit in Georgia over allegations that precinct workers in Democratic Chatham County mixed unprocessed absentee ballots into processed absentee ballots waiting to be tabulated. Lawsuits are expected in a dozen more Georgia counties.
If Biden were to win the typically Republican state, it would be a major pickup and almost assuredly point to a Biden presidency. Should Trump lose Georgia, he would need to win the remaining undetermined states — Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada — to force an electoral tie.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich is investigating claims that hundreds of ballots were tossed or rejected by the use of sharpies being passed out by people at voter locations in Maricopa County, as well as other polling stations in the state.
“We’ve received hundreds of voter complaints regarding Sharpies at polling locations”
Brnovich tweeted out a letter sent by Arizona Deputy Solicitor General Michael Catlett demanding Maricopa County Director of Election Day and Emergency Voting Scott Jenson answer questions regarding complaints lodged by hundreds of voters who may have been disenfranchised because they were given Sharpies to fill out their ballots.
Maricopa County has a significantly higher Republican base and concern that ballots were tossed or not counted began Tuesday with voters complaining on social media platforms, as well as complaints being lodged with the Emergency Voting Office, according to reports.
“We have received hundreds of voter complaints regarding Sharpies at polling locations,” said Brnovich. “Accordingly, we sent this letter to Maricopa County election officials. Let’s get some answers.”
In the letter, Catlett said the election board must answer his questions by Nov. 5. He wants to know which voting centers provided the sharpies and where they are located. More importantly, he wants to know how many ballots at those centers were rejected because of over-votes – mainly the ink from the sharpie leaked onto the backside of the ballot.
“Were the ballot tabulation machines utilized at voting centers on Election Day programmed to reject over-voted ballots,” he asked. He also asked the Maricopa County Election board what the process is for cancelling a voters ballot? If a ballot is reflected as “cancelled” on the Secretary of State’s website, what does that mean for the voter?

“We have received hundreds of voter complaints regarding Sharpies at polling locations,” said Brnovich. “Accordingly, we sent this letter to Maricopa County election officials. Let’s get some answers.”
In the letter, Catlett said the election board must answer his questions by Nov. 5. He wants to know which voting centers provided the sharpies and where they are located. More importantly, he wants to know how many ballots at those centers were rejected because of over-votes – mainly the ink from the sharpie leaked onto the backside of the ballot.
“Were the ballot tabulation machines utilized at voting centers on Election Day programmed to reject over-voted ballots,” he asked. He also asked the Maricopa County Election board what the process is for cancelling a voters ballot? If a ballot is reflected as “cancelled” on the Secretary of State’s website, what does that mean for the voter?

Charlotte Pence Bond, author and daughter of Vice President Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence, delivered a powerful message on Tuesday about the 2020 presidential election and the importance of following God amid political and social unrest.
Bond shared a touching story about her father’s path to the vice-presidency, recalling a moment years ago that defined her parents’ decision to dive further into public life. She recalled a family vacation where the sights before her parents deeply inspired them.
“We went to this dude ranch and we were on a hike,” Bond said, noting that her dad was deciding at the time whether he should make another run for Congress after two previously unsuccessful bids.
At the time, Pence had a successful career in broadcast media and law. He could have continued on that path, but found himself pondering a deeper pursuit into politics — and that’s when the Pences saw something truly transformative.

“My mom and my dad are standing on this cliff … and they look out over the cliff and they see these two hawks and they’re flying,” Bond recalled. “But they’re not flapping their wings, they’re just kind of gliding together, and the wind is just kind of carrying them along.”
The scene truly spoke to Karen Pence, who told her husband something that the couple has since held dear.
“My mom says to my dad, ‘If we’re going to run again, we’re going to run as those two hawks — no flapping,” she said. “We’re going to let God carry us up to a position or not. We’re going to glide … we’re not going to try to get there on our own.”
Bond said her mom felt the family should let God “carry them” if they planned to embark on another political run. Pence went on to be elected to Congress before later becoming the governor of Indiana in 2012, and then vice-president of the United States just four years later.
The entire journey taught Bond and her family to focus on God and his path for their lives. Looking back, she said it is often powerful to see the “ways that God is faithful and he does have a plan.” Now, she’s hoping to inspire others with that same message.
“I want to encourage you: if you’re nervous today — on election day — just remember that God has a plan for us,” she said. “Regardless of the results of elections, we respect the person who God has placed in authority.”
Bond urged people to pray for people in positions of power, and also called people to seek God in their own lives.

Brigitte Gabriel says it loud and clear. Americans were once so united and proudly flying the flag. Now, they’re shamelessly burning it. They forgot 9/11.
Did Americans forget what they felt on 9/11? Or on the day after? The unity. The compassion. The love for all Americans, no matter what color their skin was or what political party they associated themselves with. Everyone was proud to be American. Everyone felt connected.
Americans made a promise on September 11, 2001. They promised to defeat evil. They promised to stay united.
The firefighters who ran into the burning Twin Towers. The policemen who dropped everything to help. The “regular” men and women who became heroes despite the risk.
The acts of kindness that took place on that day and the days, weeks, and months following were unprecedented.
Did Americans forget about all of that? Did they truly forget what happened just 19 years ago? It is not ancient history.
Everyone flew the American flag proudly. People thanked policemen. And now, Americans are burning the flag proudly. They are attacking policemen. The flag that represents freedom and the courage to stand up to evil is now being stomped on. The men and women who chose a career path to help others are being told they are evil.
The country that has done so much good for its people and the world is being pinned as a racist country.
What has happened over the last 19 years? What is happening today is more than shocking. On September 11, 2001, no one would have thought that America could be so divided. No one could have envisioned that less than two decades later, Americans would forget the unity after the tragedy; the compassion after the pain.
No one could have imagined any of this.

Cuban Immigrant Warns Americans Against Communism Taking Over US: ‘Don’t Lose This Place’

When he came to America, Maximo Alvarez’s father told him, “Don’t lose this place, because you’re never going to be as lucky as me. Because if you lose this place, you have no place to go.”
Alvarez, a Cuban immigrant who came to the U.S. some 60 years ago, spoke for nearly 10 minutes during a round table discussion last week with President Donald Trump. The now-president of Sunshine Gasoline Distributors, Alvarez spoke about the blessings this country has afforded him since he escaped communism in Cuba.
Warning against the “communists” in the progressive left seeking to usurp American ideals, the South Florida resident urged young people against becoming “useful idiots.”
“I never forget about my dad, who only had a sixth-grade education, but I think he was the greatest philosopher I ever met,” said Alvarez. “He used to tell us how lucky he was because he was able to come from Spain to Cuba and then he came from Cuba to the United States and he saw me graduate from college, and that was the biggest prize he ever had. … Please, people. Explain that to your young people who are demonstrating out there. Don’t be useful idiots.”
Alvarez recalled the promised freedoms of eventual Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. He guaranteed “free education and free health care and free land.”
“My God, no freedom,” he recalled. “But he never said that until after he was in power and got rid of all the police, got rid of all the military [that had] been there for the last 60 years and counting, and he destroyed each and every one who helped him [in] the Catholic Church.”
He thanked Trump for choosing to run for president over enjoying the “fruits of his labors,” talking about the numerous properties and golf courses owned by the 74-year-old politician.
To those listening, Alvarez said, “Please understand what’s happening in our country. See what happens to our parents and see what is happening to America today.”

Last month, Venezuelan activist Elizabeth Rogliani Otaola gained a lot of attention for posting a video to TikTok in which she warned Americans about the dangerous of rioters and protesters continuing to tear down statues around the country.
She sees what’s happening right now in the U.S. as eerily similar to what went on years ago in Venezuela.
“You need to guard your country and your society, or it will be destroyed,” Otaola said. “We didn’t believe it could happen to us, most Venezuelans. Cubans warned us, and we were like, ‘We’re Venezuelan. We know what freedom is like. That’s not gonna happen here.’ Yet, it happened. And there’s clearly a lot of people wanting to destroy the U.S.”
During an appearance on Fox News, she added, “This is a slippery slope. The next thing is gonna be all the symbols of the United States, founding fathers are gonna be attacked, religious symbols are gonna be attacked, and probably museums. I mean, anything can be attacked if you just let it happen.”

However, another side of this is that when you have a President who descends to name-calling his opponents – whether Democrat and Republican – it is natural that people will respond. This is not all about the radical left. Polarization is not only about the left-wing of American politics going over the cliff. It is also a result of the manner of speech that Donald Trump and then President Trump has brought to the political discourse.
Following the tenure of President Trump, it will be time for America to go back to a more unifying time – when opponents know how to argue with respect. When differences of opinion do not descent to name-calling. President Trump may not be remembered as much for the failed impeachment as for the depths of discourse that his name-calling has brought America too.
But despite the negative side, Gabriel is correct that President Trump indeed may also be remembered for Making America Great Again – just as he promised.

On the other hand, President Trump will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the most divisive Presidents in the history of the republic. But, he will probably also be remembered as the President who brought the Islamic threat to the Western world via Iran down to their knees, and the President who presided over the most booming economy in recent history. If he wins a 2nd nomination, the big question will be whether or not he succeeds in tackling illegal immigration, via a wall, or not. That is the one major issue that he has not truly succeeded on that was part of his election promises.

18 years later, are we safer? Have we defeated Radical Islamic terrorism and those who sympathize with them, encourage them, fund them and cover up for them?
The short answer is NO.
Not only no, but we now have two terror sympathizers serving in the U.S. Congress as elected officials, using their position to normalize and even stand up for terror-linked people and organizations.
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, as recently as few weeks ago, August 25th, tweeted her support for a chief financier of Al-Shabaab, the U.S.-designated Somali terror group is responsible for carrying out the deadliest terror attack in Somalia's history where almost 600 people were killed just 2 years ago.
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is using her position and clout as a member of the U.S. Congress to pressure the Somali government to protect Hormuud Telecom. Two of the Telecom giant's employees were convicted in the deadliest terror bombing in Somalia in 2017. Ahmed Nur Ali Jimale, the Telecom giant founder, is a chief financier of Al-Shabaab.
Here is what the United Nations Security Council says about Hormuud Telecommunications in its Report of the Secretary-General (pages 10-11):
Hormuud Telecommunications is a company identified as being one of the single largest financiers of al-Shabaab, which includes large lump sum payments to al-Shabaab in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and these payments to al-Shabaab were facilitated by Jim’ale.
Hormuud Telecommunications has provided key material and logistical support to al-Shabaab to include weapons, private fighters, and ammunition.”
Anti-Israel Hamas-Linked CAIR Pressures Charities to Blacklist Conservative Nonprofits
But having a member of the U.S. Congress, Ilhan Omar, coming out in support of terrorists and their sympathizers should not come as a surprise. This is not the first time Ilhan Omar has gone out of her way to defend her terror-linked Somali-American community which elected her.
In November of 2016 Representative Omar wrote a personal letter appealing for “Compassion” and “leniency” for 9 Minnesota Somali men charged with planning on joining ISIS.
No less than 42 members of the Minnesota Somali community have left the U.S. to fight overseas with the terror organization Al-Shabaab.
But it doesn’t stop with Ilhan Omar.
Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, the Hamas sympathizer, doesn’t even try to hide or camouflage her loyalty to the terror group and their supporters. She proudly declared after her primary win “I want to be a voice to the Palestinian People.”
After her swearing-in ceremony in her home district, Tlaib proudly socialized at a private dinner celebration with Abbas Hamideh, a supporter of Hamas and Hezbollah, both designated terror groups by the U.S. government. Unfortunately, he wasn’t the only one. Tlaib’s dinner celebration was filled with anti-Semitic terror sympathizers including Jbara Mwafaq, an infamous supporter of Hezbollah, and Ahlam Jbara, an anti-Semitic member of the UAE terror group, CAIR.
All of this without even mentioning the fact that these congresswomen have and continue to receive immense support from a “laundry list” of organizations that are linked to the Muslim Brotherhood or are unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation Trial (the largest terror-financing trial in U.S. history). The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) are just a few prime examples that come to mind.
Who would have thought that 18 years after 9/11 we will have terror sympathizers serving in the U.S. Congress celebrated as heroes and trailblazers by the mainstream media and pop culture?
But for those of us who work with the intelligence community and are knowledgeable about the “Muslim Brotherhood Project,” we are not surprised.
The Muslim Brotherhood wrote a plan in 1982, a 100-year plan for radical Islam to infiltrate and dominate the West. In Counterterrorism circles it became known as the “Project.”
The project for North America was written in 1991 and titled: “An Explanatory Memorandum for the Strategic Goal for the group in North America.” The last page lists 29 front Islamic organizations set up in the U.S. to sabotage America including ISNA, The Muslim Student Association (MSA), and the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) which eventually became CAIR.
The project gives many proposals and tactics as to how this can be done. Here are a few:
Networking and coordinating actions between like-minded Islamist organizations
Involving ideologically committed Muslims in democratically elected institutions on all levels in the West, including government, NGOs, private organizations and labor unions.
Instituting alliances with Western “Progressive” organizations.
Making the Palestinian cause a global wedge issue for Muslims
When I look at what is going on today with the Leftist-Islamist Coalition, there is serious reason for concern. They finally have the power, financial backing, and representation in Congress to normalize defending terrorists and their chief financiers in the name of “Human Rights.” When you see “The Squad” make the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement a primary issue, it makes you pause, think, and hopefully get inspired to become involved and engaged politically.
There is no time to sit on the sidelines anymore. The 9/11 commission report said: “We lacked imagination.” Today, America is at a crossroads of irreversible consequences. The country cannot be more divided. The ideological differences between those who believe in the foundation of our founding fathers and those who want to transform our country could not be clearer. 9/11 is a time of reflection. What are we doing to save our country from harm? The time to become engaged is now. Our country’s future hangs in the balance.

The Bias
Can you believe this has been going on for so many years? Of course, not everyone who associates themselves as a Democrat would agree with the way many on The Left deal with Conservatives and the truth. But the fact is, when such big names and newspapers like The New York Times are being biased and pushing their own political agenda, it becomes the overarching sentiment. And it is completely wrong. It is anti-American. But, people do not seem to care anymore about standing up for America and her values.
Brigitte Gabriel Won’t be Silenced
Brigitte Gabriel will not allow anyone to silence the truth. People need to know the truth. It is humorous, as Gabriel points out, that the Left makes statements like saying Brigitte Gabriel is a white supremacist when in fact she is not even white. Those are the types of blatant lies that come from the Left.
And Gabriel brings attention to something important. She said, “Isn’t it a shame that we got to the point in our country where because they cannot argue with your facts they just throw labels at you?” Then those labels also lose their meaning. Being a real racist no longer holds as heavy of a label as it used to hold. So as Brigitte said, do not be silenced. Do not let those who try to cover up the truth silence you!

Brigitte Gabriel’s UN Speech
The United Nations has been a place of Jew hatred and Israel hatred. Resolution after resolution has been passed attacking the Jewish state. Reports have criticized Israel – but they are false. So many other world problems are ignored because the UN is obsessed with condemning Israel for nothing. Christians are being slaughtered throughout the Muslim world. Terrorists are murdering Jews. And the UN talks about Israel’s “war crimes.”
But Brigitte Gabriel got up at the UN and addressed antisemitism in a way that many others will not. Her speech is honest, clear, and needs to be heard by all. Standing up for Jews and defending Israel is not easy to do in front of the organization that rejects it too often. She says in her speech, “To deny the connection of the Jewish people to the land of Israel is antisemitism in its purest form.” Yet so many DO deny it.
The World Denies the Truth
The world denies a lot of truths about the Jewish people. Gabriel addresses many important points in her speech. She brings the facts. She tries to tell the world what Hamas does and how the world falls for it. Israel is blamed, but Hamas is at fault. What will the world’s response be to her powerful speech? Will she help them see the truth?
If they can’t see the truth after hearing her speech, we are in trouble.

The Mueller Report was released today, and as we long suspected THERE WAS NO COLLUSION and NO OBSTRUCTION. President Trump has been fully exonerated from the baseless and fraudulent claims of the radical Left!
They have wasted millions of taxpayer dollars and government resources on a 2 year long witch hunt in attempts to undermine the President and his agenda to keep America safe.
Now that the Mueller report has put all these absurd claims to rest, it’s high time our legislators once again focus on legitimate national security concerns facing our country such as rampant illegal immigration, radical Islamic terrorism, and anti-Semitic thought leaders infiltrating our government.

I am saddened to tell you that Fox News, the only major national news outlet representing conservative voices, has now fallen prey to the latest in a series of leftist political correctness campaigns!
Judge Jeanine Pirro, the beloved voice of truth, has been suspended from Fox News for posing a straightforward question during her show's opening monologue on March 9th concerning the source of Rep. Ilhan Omar's troubling anti-Semitism. Specifically, she asked: “Is her adherence to this Islamic doctrine indicative of her adherence to Sharia law, which in itself is antithetical to the United States Constitution?”
