The Mail on Sunday reports that British military chiefs are planning the biggest mass mobilisation exercise of reservists in twenty years. The head of the British Army General Sir Patrick Sanders says that our country should take steps to place our society on a war footing in the wake of Russian aggression in Europe.

A former British army chief has warned the nation that it needs to double its military spending to frighten Putin. Our Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has pledged that if he wins the General Election, he will bring in compulsory national service for eighteen-year-olds and the French have publicly announced that they have deployed troops to the Ukraine.

The big question that needs to be answered is whether we are already at war with Russia and if we are, when will the government officially announce this to the nation?

The nation mourns at the death of our beloved Queen, Elizabeth ll.
As we think of the National Anthem that we have sung on countless occasions in honour of the Queen, rarely do we sing the fifth verse that says:
Thy choicest gifts in store,
On her be pleased to pour,
Long may she reign!
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause,
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the Queen!

How good it has been to have had a Monarch so blessed with long life, who has served the nation unstintingly, who has sought to defend the laws, and reminded her people of her love of God.
Just on Tuesday of this week we saw her still at work, as she accepted the resignation of one Prime Minister and offered the position to another. We have been privileged to live through a remarkable reign. Now our hearts are heavy, not just at the loss of our Queen, but one who has been a constant for her people, has served without any thought of herself, and has brought comfort and encouragement to so many.
As believers our faith is so important to us. It was for our Queen too. Every year in her Christmas speech, she reminded us she was a practising Christian who prayed and read her Bible every day. The TV series ‘The Crown’ has an episode featuring an occasion when the Queen invited the evangelist Dr Billy Graham to preach at St George’s Chapel, Windsor. At lunch afterwards, Dr Graham told her: I almost based the day’s message on Christ’s healing of the crippled man – Arise take up your bed and walk. It is said that the Queen’s eyes sparkled and she replied: I wish you had - that’s my favourite (Bible) story!
There are no favourites in heaven, but she will have been welcomes with the words ‘Well done, faithful servant’. With all the reverence in the world, we say, ‘Thank you Ma’am.
Our prayers now are for the family who are mourning the loss of one so dear to them. At the same time we pray for the people of the nation. So many had such love and affection for her. We all grieve her passing.

Are we Heading for a Financial Armageddon? That’s the question Howard & Tim will be asking on two episodes of The Late Show this week. 

On Wednesday at 10pm Nikki will also be joining them to look at the current financial crisis in the Cost of Living and questioning what the newly appointed new Prime Minister, Liz Truss, is going to do about it. 
 
On Thursday at 9pm Howard and Tim will be discussing rising energy bills that are impacting many, especially those who are on the lowest incomes. They will be looking at how we can respond as Christians - individually and collectively. 

The Cost of Living Crisis is ongoing and something that will affect us all. The newspapers are using terms such as ‘Armageddon’ in their headlines so tune into The Late Show to find out if there is any truth in this.

"Who's Gonna Save the World" was first composed in 1983 by Howard Conder when he and his wife Lesley first set up London Music Studios in Tampa Florida USA. Since then there have been several versions of this song and now this latest version is going to be released in the coming weeks.

George William Musulira Kiberu, known to Howard as William since they first met in Uganda in 1994 has co-produced all the versions since 2012 including the latest version in 2021.

We are proposing to also release the other versions at some time in the future.

Basically, the song is about the state of the world from an ecological and spiritual perspective. This one line taken from a verse might help to understand where the song is coming from: "Man has taken giant steps in technology but will he ever get it right with ecology, ozone layers and chemicals, pesticides and waste, to mention only but a few to show why mans in haste."  and another verse "The world awakens yet again to another day but does it recognise the signs afraid it doesn't say, unless we change all our ways, no time for indecision, the Universe will look at Earth and hold us in derision.”

The timing of the release of this song could not be at a more fitting time as our World Leaders are realising that TIME IS RUNNING OUT for our planet and unless we "change our ways" as the lyrics state, we will suffer calamity.

We have never before faced so many diverse challenges across the whole world at the same time and this track and especially the music video which accompanies it, certainly highlight most of these challenges.

The music is powerful just as the lyrics are and both together, we hope will inspire you for there is hope for mankind's future and it does not rely on our world leaders, but on our creator. Bob Marley mentioned some of these issues in his song "One Love" for Bob was well aware of what we all would face in the future but he constantly reiterated this optimistic line in his song “LET’S GET TOGETHER AND FEEL ALRIGHT”.

Dear Viewers

As I write this article I am reminded that we face another Easter without the freedom to visit friends and relatives in order to celebrate the resurrection of Our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Large church gatherings for communal worship feel like a thing of the past, and some of us sense that life as we knew it will never return.  But as we gradually ease ourselves out of lockdown let us remember the huge price that Jesus paid for us at the cross – he suffered without complaint. He has walked us through this time of fear, hardship and suffering, and we are slowly emerging from a season of our lives that we would never have thought possible to endure.

I am looking forward to watching some exciting new programmes this month and I am sure you are too. Please look out for two amazing documentary style productions – the story of Lot and the temptations of Jesus.  They are superbly produced and form part of a ten part series that we will share with you over the coming months.  We also welcome Steve Furtick to our screens with his  programme Elevation which has been popular on several Christian TV stations worldwide. Steve will feature each Sunday for the coming year.

Inspirational Moments with Howard, Prophecy Isaiah chapter 19 verses 16-25.

I have been working on producing this particular Inspirational Moments with Howard for much longer than I wanted to because it is such a vital and sensitive Promise of God and a prophecy that is still to be fulfilled that will bring True Peace to the Middle East (in particular between Israel and the Palestinians. I want to make sure I could present this video in the very best way possible. I sincerely and truly want to see this prophecy in Isaiah chapter 19 verses 16-25 come to pass and this is one of the few remaining prophecies in the Bible that has yet to be fulfilled.
It is all about the time when the Jews and the Arabs come together in harmony and particularly when they worship the true God whom their joint ancestor Abram (Abraham) worshipped. If you recall, Abram refused to bow down to the false gods whom his contemporaries worshipped back in his home town Pandamarran in what is today known as Iraq. Abraham left his uncles and nephews to go in search of the Living God and dared to believe that He would lead Abram to the Promised Land.
It wasn’t long before there was dissension in the camp and to make it worse Sarah, Abrams wife did not believe that she could bear her husband an heir so she introduced Hagar, her maid servant to Abram in order for her to produce an heir and along came Ishmael, the son of Hagar, and eventually along came Issac whom Sarah gave birth too according to the promise spoken by the Angel of the Lord and then the family feud really went from bad to worse. Ishmael and his mother Hagar were sent into the wilderness to fend for themselves and an angel appeared just as Hagar and her son were about to expire because of lack of water and the Angel passes onto to them the promises of God that they would become great nations and likewise there were also promises from God to Isaac and his descendants who were going to inherit the Promised land and that eventually the Messiah would come through their line. For over three thousand years, there has been a family feud between the descendants of Ishmael and Isaac BUT there is this promise (prophecy) of God that one day the Jew and the Arab will come to worship together in peace and harmony. This promise is recorded in Isaiah chapter 19 verses 16 through to 25 and this short video pronounces this very prophecy in order to bring hope to both People groups for a real Peace Agreement. I personally believe it is impossible for Politicians to bring about a lasting Peace Agreement in the Middle East but NOT SO FOR THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, HIS PROMISES ARE FAITHFUL AND TRUE, therefore please do take notice that hopefully this generation will witness this prophecy. Amen!
