The conditions that allowed a 20-year-old would-be assassin to get a clear shot at assassinating former President Donald J. Trump didn’t happen by coincidence, Donald Trump Jr. said July 26.

“I don’t honestly think that the guys at the Secret Service — many who I know and respect — magically left an entire roof unguarded where a guy with a rifle could get there for 20 minutes within 150 yards,” Trump Jr. said in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson.

“Like, that doesn't happen. That's not being a conspiracy theorist,” Trump Jr. said. "Like, you're a freaking idiot if you think that that just happened by coincidence.”

The junior Trump’s explosive statement raises the public specter of what has been mostly whispered only in private: Were the U.S. Secret Service or others in government somehow complicit in the attempted assassination? Did would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks have help?

J. Michael Waller, senior analyst at the Center for Security Policy and author of the best-selling book “Big Intel: How the CIA Went from Cold War Heroes to Deep State Villains,” said the ugliest explanations cannot be ruled out.

“It’s really hard to separate incompetence from willful negligence or even simple negligence or malice," Waller said on the July 19 episode of "Blaze News Tonight." "You can’t rule out malice. You can’t rule out somebody wanted this to happen.”

A top-tier U.S. military special operations expert told Blaze News that after examining all of the evidence to date, the hallmarks are there to suggest that Crooks was groomed and trained for an assassination attempt.

"It’s not in the realm of real possibility for the government to be this incompetent," the special operator said on condition of anonymity. "There is no chance Crooks was not pointed to which building he needed to be on.

"Rank incompetence vs. rank arrogance. I’ve seen a lot of it in my 30 years in government ops. This was neither," the expert said, suggesting that initial clues are visible in Crooks' behavior.

Crooks' 11-minute drone flight two hours before the shooting was likely not for surveillance, the expert said, but for planning his route onto the grounds and up onto the roof. FBI Director Christopher Wray told a U.S. House hearing that Crooks flew the drone some 200 yards from the stage where Trump would speak.

The Oversight Project at the Heritage Foundation said geolocation data from a phone linked to Crooks traveled from the Crooks home in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, to Butler on July 4 and July 8.

Crooks likely knew the grounds would be changed on the day of the event, due to parking, fencing, and vendor parking and setup, the special ops expert said.

"A 20-year-old with no military or government training doing so many things correctly — range finder, drone, recon, turning off his phone — had to have been 'groomed' into this process. He was likely paid by some government or dark money source.

"I don’t think he went rogue or was a rogue operator," the expert said. "I’ve seen and been involved in these types of ops for too many years. He had instructions.

One special operator can train or groom about eight to 12 youths quite easily, the ops expert said, including precision operations, such as the setting of explosive devices for kill operations.

This is not the kind of thing done with only a single recruit; one operative can run up to 12 guys to take advantage of “multiple opportunities” and then "activate" the right emotionally disturbed and loner kid at the right opportunity.

"Depending upon the op, I’d need at least nine months for the source vetting and grooming, but I’ve done it in as little as six months," he said. "Then I’d need as little as three days to prep him for the specific operations, after the requisite number of months of grooming."

The Trump assassination attempt has likely inspired more people to make attempts, the expert said.

"Trump is more at risk now than he ever was before," he said. "His security has been stepped up, but that won’t stop a band of — for instance, and I say this with knowledge and authority — 'Somali immigrants,' who are gung ho for Kamala Harris, to risk a suicide operation to take out Trump."

If the Trump shooting were some kind of deep-state government op that failed, they would typically put other ops on hold and allow more radical groups to take charge, he said.

The mere thought of other operatives primed to try to get at Trump again has already prompted discussion among experts in law enforcement, event security, and even military special operations. Protecting former President Trump until — and beyond — Election Day will require the helping hands of combat-hardened private security contractors, they say.

“Today’s Secret Service doesn’t merely need additional, immediate help from private companies,” Waller wrote in a July 24 Blaze News opinion column.

'It is essential that we have a proper election and that these issues are solved at the ballot box and not with a cartridge box.'

“It’s clear from the attempted murder of Trump that its dysfunctional personnel quality, driven by politicized policy, runs deep,” Waller said. “This is where the privatization of Secret Service functions can help correct the problem quickly.”

Waller said the developments surrounding the assassination attempt now demand bringing in third-party experts for protection details and event security. He suggested that Erik Prince, founder of the security firm Blackwater, be tapped to take charge of Trump's security.

"No one on earth has a better record of protecting their people than Erik Prince," Waller said on the July 19 episode of "Blaze News Tonight." "When he was with Blackwater, he had a 100-percent perfection record of protecting the lives of the Americans whom his people were there to save."

Waller wrote that today’s Secret Service had its roots in the Civil War era, when President Abraham Lincoln hired the Pinkerton National Detective Agency to provide counterintelligence. Pinkerton private security operatives had uncovered and thwarted a plot to assassinate Lincoln in Baltimore in 1861.

In July 2008, presidential candidate and future President Barack Obama was protected on a trip to Afghanistan by the private security firm Blackwater, Waller said. Blackwater set the standard for protecting Americans in the most dangerous environments, he said.

Prince said integrating private operatives into the existing Secret Service infrastructure would be complicated.

“Integrating private contracted support in with the federal effort would be exceedingly difficult and exceedingly dangerous, especially for the private guys because the federal bureaucracy will always protect itself and will always hang the private guys out to dry,” Prince said on the July 16 episode of "Blaze News Tonight."

“That being said, if the mission required it and if President Trump actually asked for it, I’m sure we can find a way to help him out because it is essential that we have a proper election and that these issues are solved at the ballot box and not with a cartridge box.”

Prince said the stakes could not be higher in finding out what went wrong with security on July 13 and ensuring that it doesn’t happen again.

“It was not Secret Service excellence that saved President Trump,” he said. “It was bad aim, President Trump turning his head, and probably the flap of an angel’s wings. We literally, the nation, dodged a bullet on Saturday.”

Another U.S. special forces operator who trains Secret Service counter-sniper and counter-surveillance teams told Blaze News that outside security help is a must.

“U.S. Secret Service is not up to the task and will fail on the next attempt, which won't miss,” said the source, speaking on condition of anonymity. “The whisper campaign to provide private security for Trump, based on these facts, is starting.”

Former President Trump and the public need to realize how bad the problem is at the Secret Service, the source indicated.

“Helping the public — and President Trump — understand how negligent [Secret Service personnel] were and will continue to be for the foreseeable future is critical to keeping Trump secure,” the source said. “Otherwise security will continue to be lax.”

Trump's daughter-in-law, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Lara Trump, said she faults the Secret Service leadership for the July 13 failures, not the line agents protecting her father-in-law.

"I don't worry that the people on the ground with my father-in-law because I've seen them," she said on "Blaze News Tonight." "You saw them jump on top of him, literally put themselves between my father-in-law and an assassin. And you didn't know at that moment what else was out there. Was there another shooter out there?

"They risked their lives for him and they were willing to give up their lives for him, so I have no doubt about their capabilities," Lara Trump said. "Those people did their job exactly as they should have."

SWAT officer's video confirms discovery of eight shell casings around Thomas Crooks' body and shows police handcuffed Crooks minutes after he was shot.
Dramatic new police bodycam video from the Pennsylvania rooftop where Thomas Matthew Crooks fired his AR-15-style rifle at former President Donald J. Trump showed his handcuffed body face-down and a river of blood that ran down the roof and over the edge from a counter-sniper’s kill shot to the head.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) released 25 minutes of new bodycam video to add to the three minutes he released earlier in the week. The video was obtained by Senate investigators from the Beaver County Emergency Services Unit SWAT team.

The video confirmed the presence of eight shell casings and showed that a remote-control device for triggering bombs found in Crooks’ possession had an extendable antenna.

The bodycam video began as the SWAT officer jogged behind the stage where Trump was shot 16 minutes earlier. He ran toward the American Glass Research building north of the fairground that hosted the rally. A medic, another SWAT officer, and the recording SWAT operator had to crawl through a hole in the chain link fence in order to access the AGR property.

The tragic, never-before-seen 9/11 video has gone viral and racked up millions of views on social media.
New, never-before-seen video of the World Trade Center towers collapsing on September 11, 2001, has surfaced.

On Tuesday, Kei Sugimoto uploaded previously unseen footage of the 9/11 terror attacks. At the time of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Sugimoto was a 24-year-old living in New York City.

'This was no ordinary accident.'

Sugimoto said the video was taken from the roof of a building on 64 St. Marks Place in Staten Island, which is about seven miles from where the World Trade Center was located at the time.

To capture the tragic footage, Sugimoto used a Sony VX2000 with a teleconverter.

The newly released 9/11 videos have gone viral and racked up nearly half of a million views on YouTube and millions more views on other social media platforms, such as X and Rumble.

Sugimoto decided to start recording the events of September 11 after realizing that the plane colliding into the World Trade Center was "no ordinary accident."

He added: "If I remember correctly. I think I ran to get my video camera after seeing the second plane crash sensing that this was no ordinary accident."

In the YouTube comments of the video, Sugimoto was asked why he uploaded the 9/11 footage more than two decades after the catastrophe that changed the world forever.

Sugimoto responded, "I was cleaning my closet and found boxes full of Hi-8, Digital-8, and DV tapes."

"When trying to play them back I noticed that maybe about a 3rd of them had demagnetized over time and were either blank, or suffering from major data corruption," he continued. "After researching online I learned that video tapes are not immune from age even when stored in ideal conditions, so I frantically started to digitize them."

Sugimoto concluded, "Thus I'm just uploading the video now."

Biden, meanwhile, recounted his personal history of engaging in diplomacy with Israeli leaders as far back as Golda Meir a half-century ago.

After reporters were booted from the Oval Office, a bilateral meeting between Biden, Netanyahu, an American delegation, and an Israeli delegation commenced. A senior administration official who previewed the meeting said the discussion would focus on the Middle East and, specifically, the Israel-Hamas war.

After the public meeting — which lasted only 134 seconds, according to this C-SPAN video — both leaders and their delegations planned to meet with families of American hostages held by Hamas.

Perhaps the most significant news item extracted from the brief public meeting is a question that Biden responded to using his body language.

After Biden and Netanyahu gave their brief remarks and posed for a photo op, a White House reporter shouted a poignant question at the president: Did you drop out of the 2024 election because of your health?

It's an important question because Biden's letter announcing his decision to step aside and his Oval Office address on Wednesday did not specify why he chose to leave the race.

But on Thursday, Biden appeared to answer the question — finally.

"President Biden shook his head no when I asked him in the Oval Office if he dropped out of the race for health reasons," reported Reagan Reese.

In an interview Harris sat down for with NBC's Lester Holt, he caught her in a lie — and she made her incompetence on the issue extraordinarily clear.

“There’s one other topic I wanted to talk to you about,” Holt said, preparing Harris. “Do you have any plans to visit the border?”

“I’m here in Guatemala today; I, at some point, you know — we are going to the border. We’ve been to the border. So this whole thing about the border, we’ve been to the border. We’ve been to the border,” Harris shakily responded.

“You haven’t been to the border,” Holt fired back without hesitation.

“And I haven’t been to Europe, and I don’t understand the point that you’re making. I’m not discounting the importance of the border,” Harris continued, clearly frustrated. “I care about what’s happening at the border. I’m in Guatemala because my focus is dealing with the root causes of migration.”

“There may be some who think that is not important, but it is my firm belief that if we care about what’s happening at the border, we better care about the root causes and address them, and so that’s what I’m doing,” she added.

She also said “an undocumented immigrant is not a criminal” in a post on her X account in 2017.

Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” can’t believe her logic.

“Yes, they are a criminal. If you’re undocumented, you get here illegally,” he says in awe.

Attorney John Morgan, a major Biden donor, issued the Democratic Party a warning on Sunday after the party began coalescing around Vice President Kamala Harris as the favorite for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination.

After President Joe Biden announced Sunday that he is not going to seek re-election, Morgan told ABC News that he will stop fundraising for Democrats if Harris is their presidential nominee.

The Catholic Church in America is poised to once again become a predominantly conservative institution.
Asurvey published last year in the journal Politics and Religion indicated that 53% of Catholic priests admitted to being more liberal than most of their parishioners. Where the Catholic Church in the United States is concerned, the days of the liberal priest are numbered.

There have been indications in recent years that progressivism among Catholic clerics is literally dying out — that the new generation of priests are no-nonsense conservatives, unapologetic about the traditions and moral teachings of the church, and altogether resistant to the ideological fads of the day.

The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., released an 18-page report in November indicating that in terms of theological self-identification, 85% of the youngest cohort of priests described themselves as "conservative/orthodox" or "very conservative/orthodox," with only 14% describing themselves as "middle-of-the-road."

The report, based on a census of 131 bishops and thousands of priests, indicated that this represents a seismic shift, given that "theologically 'progressive' and 'very progressive' priests once made up 68% of new ordinands. Today, that number has dwindled almost to zero."

ASouth Carolina man died suddenly on the 4th of July after placing a large firework on his head. Video shows the final moments of the man dressed in an Uncle Sam costume who was killed by the explosion.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Allen Ray McGrew was enjoying the 4th of July festivities at a local neighborhood block party in Summerville, about 35 minutes north of Charleston.

The 41-year-old father had allegedly been drinking that day and placed a large firework on his head. His wife initially thought he was merely posing with the firework in an attempt to entertain onlookers.

"He was holding this firework over his top hat. I thought he was just showboating before he set it on the ground. I didn’t realize he had already lit it," McGrew's wife told the New York Post.

The firework exploded on McGrew's head and he was said to have died instantly from the injuries from the explosion.

The last moments of McGrew's life were caught on video and posted on social media. The video shows McGrew dressed in an Uncle Sam costume and dancing in a yard.

Allen's wife, Paige McGrew, told the Post and Courier that he was a "patriot" who loved Independence Day and was excited over the recent marriage engagement of his son.

"He was a patriot; he was proud of his son and he was excited to have a new daughter-in-law. He was living his best life last night," Paige explained.

She recalled the moments before his sudden death, "Just before the incident happened, he hugged me and his son and said ‘You are my rock, and you are my heart. Me being his rock and his son being his heart."

McGrew was described as a kind neighbor who regularly mowed the lawns of about five neighbors.
