God's Commandments for Israel

Every person born again as a child of God is a citizen of the commonwealth of Israel - the Israel of God - Ephesians 2 - Galatians 6.

God decreed that Tabernacles - the time of His birth - was to be observed forever. Tabernacles will be celebrated even after the second coming of Jesus to earth.

God also decreed that Passover - the night hours of Nisan 14 - were to be kept as a memorial forever. Nisan 14 is the anniversary date of the death of Jesus.

God's commandments include keeping Passover as a Memorial forever. And, His word includes a commandment to also keep the appointed time of Tabernacles forever.

Nisan 10
Jesus Presents Himself as our
Passover Lamb

Today is Nisan 10, March 25, 2010. It is the anniversary date of when Jesus presented Himself in the streets of Jerusalem as our Passover Lamb.
Previously Jesus had gone to Bethany. He received word that His friend Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha was sick and for Him to please come quickly. But Jesus tarried. He waited until Lazarus had been dead for four days. Then He went to Bethany and raised Lazarus from His death.
The Jewish people believe that there is no hope for the body of a person who is dead to ever live again after the third day. They believe that corruption of the body begins on the fourth day.
Jesus raised Lazarus from His death on the fourth day. It was to show others that He has the power of resurrection even over a corrupted body.
The body of Jesus was resurrected on the third day of Passover after it had been in the grave for three days and three nights. His body did not suffer any corruption. He was the first fruits of the resurrection from the dead unto eternal life.
Lazaruz was not resurrected unto eternal life. He was to die a second death but he was not hurt by his second death - Revelation 2:11.
On the evening of Nisan 9 - the evening that began Nisan 10 Jesus was in the home of Lazarus, Martha and Mary. The next morning He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey which was the custom of kings on the day of their coronation.
On this day - Nisan 10 - 1,980 years ago He presented Himself as our Passover Lamb. It was on a weekly Saturday Sabbath. It was on March 30, 30 AD. He would die four days later on April 3 after being betrayed for 30 pieces of silver.
There were people in Jerusalem that day who had been in Bethany when Lazarus was resurrected from His death. They had cut down palm branches on the way to Jerusalem from Bethany. They waved those Palm Branches and were among the great multitude mentioned in
KJV Matthew 21:9

And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
This important anniversary date -
Nisan 10 -
ends today at 6 PM.

In 30 AD Nisan 10 was on the weekly Saturday Sabbath - Palm Saturday. There is never a time on the Hebrew Calendar when Jesus could have been in Bethany on Nisan 9 (the evening that begins Nisan 10) and enter Jerusalem on a Palm Sunday. There is never a time when the day of Nisan 10 is on Sunday.

scriptures Describing the Events of the
Passover Week

Nisan 10 (March 30 AD)

Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey’s colt (the practice of Jewish kings before their coronation) and was selected as our Passover Lamb.

John 12

1
"Then Jesus six days before the passover (Nisan 9) came to Bethany . . ."

(to the home of Lazarus, Martha and Mary)

12
"On the next day (Nisan 10) much people that were come to the feast, (the feast of Passover)when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,"

13
"Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord."

14
"And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, (donkey) sat thereon; as it is written,"

15
"Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's (donkey’s) colt."

Many Christians in the United States remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, which marks the beginning of Holy Week. This day is also on the Sunday before Easter Sunday.
