A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
No man sins except for his own advantage; but, the advantage is in this
life only.
WAIT ON THE LORD
"Those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount
up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not grow weary, they shall
march and not grow faint." [Isaiah/Yeshayah) 40. 31] Bless the
LORDÂ…Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth
is renewed like the eagle's." [Psalms (Tehillym) 103. 1, 5 Tanakh,
Kethuvim]
To say this another way, "The ALMIGHTY satisfies you with good things in
the prime of life, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles." This
is such a lovely promise from GOD'S HOLY WORD, as it is easy to grow
weary and faint in our mortal bodies, even when doing the work of the
GREAT & MIGHTY LORD GOD. The answer: Wait upon the LORD!
The Hebrew word "kavah" means "wait for" or "look for." It is
translated "waited for" the second time it is used in the BIBLE when the
dying patriarch, Jacob cried out: "I waited for YOUR deliverance
(salvation), O LORD." [Genesis (Bereshith) 49. 18 Tanakh, Torah]
The first time it is used, amazingly, is in connection with the Third
Day of Creation when the OMNIPOTENT CREATOR said, "Let the water below
the sky be gathered into one area, that the dry land may appear."
[Genesis (Bereshith) 1. 9 Tanakh, Torah] That is, the all-encompassing
waters of the original creation, divided on the Second Day of Creation,
now are told to "wait" patiently, perhaps stated, until GOD formed the
various heavens (atmosphere, outer-space) before dealing again with the
waters.
In Psalm 40, we can get a clearer insight as to the meaning of "kavah"
where it is used to picture the foreshadowed MESSIAH YESHUA, "I waited
patiently for (put my hope in) YEHOWAH; and HE inclined toward (listened
to) me and heeded my cry." [Psalms (Tehillym) 40. 1 Tanakh, Kethuvim]
"The ETERNAL GOD OF HEAVEN, the HIGH & LOFTY LORD, the CREATOR of the
earth from end to end, HE never grows faint or weary, HIS wisdom cannot
be fathomed." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 40. 28 Tanakh, Nevi'im] HIS gracious
promise is that we can "renew our strength" (rather to exchange our
weakness for HIS strength) by "waiting on HIM." We wait patiently for
the LORD YESHUA, draw nearer to HIM, look for HIM, cry to HIM and trust
HIM. In turn, our WONDERFUL LORD renews our strength! HalleluYAH!! !
The ultimate renewal of our strength will be when we receive our new
bodies and we rise "like the eagles" when the ALMIGHTY ONE catches away
those who are found worthy. "For the LORD HIMSELF will descend from
heaven with a shout, with the voice of an arch-angel, and with the
trumpet of GOD. And the dead in CHRIST will rise first. Then we who are
alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to
meet the LORD in the air. And thus we shall always be with the LORD." [1
Thessalonians 4. 16 - 17]
"Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all
be changed--in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised
incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on
incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this
corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on
immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written:
"Death is swallowed up in victory." [1 Corinthians 15. 51 - 54] This
will happen at OMNISCIENT GOD'S appointed time. Meanwhile, wait on the
Lord for it will surely come. HalleluYAH , what blessed hope!!!
Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of
Israel!
Shalom alechem b'Shem YESHUA ha'MASHIACH - Peace be to you in
the Name of JESUS THE CHRIST!
The grace of our LORD JESUS CHRIST be with you always – for you are
our glory and joy.
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
When we offer others harbor, we calm our own storms.

LOOKING BACK
"Listen to ME you that pursue justice, you who seek the LORD; look to
the ROCK you were hewn from, and to the quarry you were dug from."
[Isaiah (Yeshayah) 51. 1 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

It is not good to dwell on the past continually - - be it in pride of
past achievements, discouragements, past failures, or grieving over
losses. However, it is good to never forget what the LORD GOD has done
for us. In this instance Israel is reminded of Abraham and Sarah who
had been digged out of the pit of paganism, and cut out of the rock of
idolatry, and OMNIPOTENT CREATOR GOD had greatly blessed.

Looking back, David wrote that the ALMIGHTY ONE "lifted me out of the
miry pit, the slimy clay, and set my feet on a rock, steadied my legs."
[Psalms (Tehillym) 40. 2 Tanakh, Kethuvim] The Apostle Paul looked
back and said, "You have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I
persecuted the Church of GOD...but when it pleased GOD, WHO...called me
by HIS grace to reveal HIS SON in me that I might preach HIM...they
glorified GOD in me." [Galatians 1. 13, 15 - 16, 24]

Whatever our own background may be -- biased skeptics, openly
scandalous, shameful sinners, self-righteous hypocrites, swindler –
the LOVING ALMIGHTY LORD GOD has indeed, if we are now saved by HIS
amazing grace, digged us out of a pit and set us on a SOLID ROCK, the
BLESSED REDEEMER, YESHUA ha'MASHIACH. We were "strangers from the
covenants of promise, having no hope and without GOD in the world."
[Ephesians 2. 12] But the HOLY ONE, blessed be HE, "has delivered us
from the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of the SON
of HIS love." [Colossians 1. 13]

"Such were some of you" wrote Paul of such gross sins as fornication,
idolatry, homosexuality, adultery, and thievery, as well as covetousness
and drunkenness. "But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you
were justified in the NAME of MESSIAH JESUS and by the SPIRIT of our
GOD." [1 Corinthians 6. 9 - 11] Looking back will help us to remember;
but more important is to look UP in humble thankfulness for the grace
and mercies of our MIGHTY & HOLY LORD GOD. It will be worth it all
when we see HIM. Oh! how I long to see YESHUA'S face, the LORD I
love!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of
Israel!
Be blessed as we bid farewell to Shabbat. There is light and joy,
gladness and honour for all of GOD'S people. Have a good week and
bring some of Sabbath's sweetness into every day! Shalom U'Vrakah
(Peace & Blessings) . . . may the LORD GOD be with you this day and
always!

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Thought FOR TODAY
A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The Jew carries the burden of an unredeemed world because he cannot
concede that redemption is an accomplished fact, unless he accepts that
YESHUA OF NAZARETH is the MESSIAH.
THE MEDIATOR
The prophetess, Devorah and Barak, son of Abinoam sang these praises of
Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite who struck Sisera, crushed his head,
smashed and pierced his temple with a tent peg. 'Most blessed of women
be Jael.'" [Judges (Shofetim) 5. 24 Tanakh, Nevi'im]
Many years after this historical event, Elisheva (Elizabeth) spoke to
Miryam (Mary) saying, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the
fruit of your womb!" [Luke 1. 42] Clearly, both of these women, Jael
and Miryam, were explicitly called "blessed among women" for the
astonishingly incredible deeds in their life. They are described as
being "blessed" in HOLY SCRIPTURES. But, neither of them are called
"the queen of heaven" nor does it give either of them the position of
mediator between the ALMIGHTY LORD GOD OF THE UNIVERSE and mankind.
This position exclusively belongs to MESSIAH YESHUA alone.
Miryam (Mary) went on to say, "My soul does magnify the LORD and my
spirit has rejoiced in GOD my SAVIOUR." [Luke 1. 46 - 47] Miryam, just
like each of us, imperatively needs a Saviour/Redeemer. Miryam was the
mother of Jesus, not the mother of GOD. Jesus was and is "GOD THE WORD"
before HE became a MAN, being born of Miryam (to come in the flesh) --
conceived of the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD.
"For there is ONE GOD and ONE Mediator between GOD and men...the MAN,
CHRIST JESUS, WHO gave HIMSELF a ransom for all, to be testified in due
time." [1 Timothy 2. 5 - 6] YESHUA ha'MASHIACH was "made a little
lower than the angels, for the suffering of death; that HE might taste
death for everyone…to make the AUTHOR of their salvation PERFECT
THROUGH SUFFERINGS." [Hebrews 2. 9 - 10] "Though HE was a SON, yet HE
learned obedience by the things which HE suffered. And having been
PERFECTED, HE became the AUTHOR of eternal salvation to all who obey
HIM." [Hebrews 5. 8 - 9] Furthermore, YESHUA the RIGHTEOUS ONE became
a MAN so HE could identify with the creation HE made and become their
REDEEMER. [see Leviticus/Vayikra 25. 47 - 48]
"And for this reason HE is the MEDIATOR of the NEW COVENANT, by means of
death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the FIRST
COVENANT, that those who are called may receive the promise of the
eternal inheritance. "[Hebrews 9. 15]
JESUS, the HORN OF DAVID, is the only SAVIOUR, REDEEMER, MESSIAH and
MEDIATOR. Miryam, confessed her need for a SAVIOUR and trusted this
UNIQUE ONE to be "GOD her SAVIOUR." We, likewise, need to look to the
ROCK OF ISRAEL, the "MEDIATOR" and "JUST JUDGE" WHO died in our place,
and rose victoriously.
Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Good Sabbath! Open your hearts in song as the sunset swells into a
cadence of changing colours: "Come, my dear friend, to meet the Bride,
the Sabbath presence, let us welcome."
May your heart be filled with intuition and your words be filled with
insight; songs of praise ever be upon your tongue and your vision be on
a straight path before you. May your eyes shine with the light of holy
words and your face reflect the brightness of the heavens; and, your
lips ever speak wisdom and your fulfillment be in righteousness even as
you ever yearn to hear the words of the HOLY ONE OF OLD.
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

HARDENED HEARTS
"It was the LORD'S doing to stiffen their hearts to give battle to
Israel, in order that they might be proscribed without quarter and wiped
out, as the LORD had commanded Moses." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 11. 20 Tanakh,
Nevi'im]
The righteous severity of the ALMIGHTY AWESOME ONE is shown in His
command to utterly destroy the Canaanites. "When the LORD your GOD
brings you to the land that you are about to enter and possess, and HE
dislodges many nations before you – the Hittites, Girgashites,
Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, seven nations
much larger than you – and the LORD your GOD delivers them to you
and you defeat them, you must doom them to destructions: grant them no
terms and give them no quarters." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 7. 1-2 Tanakh,
Torah] It was irreproachable GOD ALMIGHTY HIMSELF WHO hardened the
hearts of the Canaanites so that Joshua could destroy them.
The BLESSED MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE is not only loving, but also holy and
righteous. "The LORD seeks out the righteous man, but loathes the wicked
one who loves injustice." [Psalms (Tehillym) 11. 5 Tanakh, Kethuvim]
And, GOD does "not change." [Malachi/Malakhi 3. 6] In the NEW COVENANT,
ALMIGHTY GOD is also called a "CONSUMING FIRE" [Hebrews 12. 29], and we
are admonished that "the wages of sin is death." [Romans 6. 23] "The
LORD JESUS is revealed from heaven with HIS mighty angels, in FLAMING
FIRE taking vengeance on those who do not know GOD, and on those who do
not obey the GOSPEL of our LORD JESUS CHRIST." [2 Thessalonians 1. 7 -
8]
As for those seven nations (Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites,
Perizzites, Hivites & Jebusites) that were to be fully destroyed, the
MIGHTY ONE OF ISRAEL had given them 400 years to repent.
[Genesis/Bereshith 15. 13-16] But with each generation, they drew
further and further away from their LOVING MAKER. They were practicing
every form of depravity and iniquity known to man. Therefore, GOD in
HIS great mercy to future generations, decreed their destruction.
Like Pharaoh at the time of the Exodus, the peoples had already hardened
their own hearts toward GOD, so the OMNIPOTENT ONE now hardened their
hearts against Israel. Thinking they could destroy GOD'S people,
they only hastened their well-deserved end. The HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL is
the RIGHTEOUS JUDGE, thus it is our responsibility to choose to serve
HIM in reverence and godly fear. Certainly, we will each give account
for our choices.
Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
What we can accomplish on our own is hardly noteworthy; but, with the
hand of the MASTER in our life, great and marvelous things happen.
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
He that is hungry never finds the bread too hard.

DARKNESS OVER ALL
"Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the
earth until the ninth hour." [Luke 23. 44]

YESHUA ha'MASHIACH was nailed to the cross on the third hour and HE died
at the ninth hour. On the sixth hour a sudden and complete,
supernatural darkness caused the sun's light to fail. This darkness
settled down on the earth and remained for three hours and then lifted
and departed as abruptly. The sun was veiled as with sackcloth for
those three hours while the AUTHOR of all light, physically and
spiritually, was hanging on the cross

In Egypt, the ETERNAL ONE kept HIS OWN people in light while Egypt
experienced the plague of darkness. But when they crucified the LORD
JESUS, GOD'S PRECIOUS SON, that supernatural darkness which they had
escaped in Egypt came upon them in their own land. It is, however, a
greater miracle to produce darkness in the presence of light than light
in the presence of darkness. Light overcomes darkness, but darkness is
the negation of light.

The Explanation of This Darkness: In the light of the sun, men had put
forth every effort to humiliate the LORD YESHUA and make HIM suffer.
The Roman soldiers, hardened by such experiences, were just performing
another day's task. For the first three hours, the Jewish rulers and
the mob mocked, despitefully jeered, rebuked and reproached the LORD OF
GLORY. Then, on the sixth hour, man's energies ceased. There was
darkness and no man could work; the hearts of men were held by a
gripping terror. The soldiers stood aside in fear; the ruthless sneers
of the rulers' tongues were silenced. Stillness enveloped the scene.
Unspeakable horror hung over the cross while the mighty process of
nature rolled on; but, its MAKER had stepped in and intervened in HIS
creation. HE veiled the sun in sackcloth and spread the mantle of night
over the cross when the AUTHOR OF LIGHT was dying for our sins.

The first three hours were man's moment; but the last three hours were
ALMIGHTY GOD'S. With HIS intervention, the cruel cross became an altar.
The substitutionary death of GOD'S PERFECT LAMB is the fOUNDATION of all
GOD'S dealings with man -- above all HIS actions to us -- revealing
GOD'S best for us. MESSIAH YESHUA'S only compulsion was that of love
for those who were nailing HIM to the cross. Pilate wrote a title
above the cross: "THE KING OF THE JEWS" …but the HEAVENLY FATHER
veiled that inscription for the time being that John's words might echo
from the hilltops, "Behold! THE LAMB OF GOD WHO takes away the sin of
the world!" [John 1. 29]

In that period of darkness MESSIAH, our KINSMAN REDEEMER "was made sin
for us" and thereby HE fulfilled the prophecy of the SLAIN LAMB in
Isaiah 53. JESUS is the LAMB OF GOD, WHO willingly died upon GOD'S
appointed altar, working in beautiful harmony with the FATHER for the
sin of the world. That darkness speaks of the inscrutable and
unspeakable sufferings of CHRIST JESUS when HE became sin for us. GOD
slew HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON upon the altar -- as it is written, "smitten
and afflicted by GOD" [Isaiah/Yeshayah 53. 4] but HIS suffering is
unrecorded, for it is veiled in the darkness of Calvary. As the
darkness ceased about the ninth hour, there came the piercing and
anguished cry from the DYING LAMB, "ELI, ELI, lama sabachthani? " that
is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, why have YOU forsaken ME?" [Matthew 27. 46]

In those last three hours, the LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH endured all the
sufferings of hell. HE plumbed the depths of pain, and HE bore the full
penalty of sin; GOD did not spare HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON but gave HIM
freely. When YESHUA bore our sin, substitution for sinful man was
perfectly accomplished and completed in the severe darkness of that
hour.

Looking back on YESHUA'S deepest hour of anguish, we cannot plumb the
depths of darkness to discern the dire distress of HIS soul; we can only
be eternally grateful that "The LORD was pleased to crush HIM; HE has
put HIM to grief. When HE made HIMSELF an offering for sin-guilt, that
HE might see HIS seed and arm of vindication, and have long life; and
that through HIM the LORD'S purpose might prosper." [Isaiah (Yeshayah)
53. 10 Tanakh, Nevi'im] The LORD JESUS CHRIST loved me and gave HIMSELF
for me meeting the demands of a HOLY & JUST GOD.

The HOLY ONE buried the sword of justice in the heart of MESSIAH YESHUA.
Now, the sword of justice is sheathed in HIS heart and ALMIGHTY GOD is
free to accept sinners who do no more than receive JESUS, HIS BELOVED
SON. The Cross of CHRIST was an Altar of Eternal Sacrifice where GOD
displayed HIS love by paying the penalty of sin HIMSELF which HIS
holiness demanded, for GOD was in MESSIAH YESHUA reconciling the world
to HIMSELF.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of
Israel!

Praised are YOU, O LORD GOD, for great is YOUR love for us and YOUR
compassion boundless. Be gracious to us that we may understand and
fulfill the teachings of YOUR REVERED WORD. Enlighten our eyes in YOUR
Law that we may cling to YOUR commandments. Thank YOU for YOUR saving
power, for from YOU comes our help. Draw us nearer to YOU to serve YOU
in faithfulness. Joyfully, we lift our voices and proclaim YOUR PRECIOUS
NAME.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

Post  Admin Wed 06 Oct 2010, 7:48 am

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Doing the impossible just takes a smidgen longer.

SILENCING THE FOOLISH
"For this is the will of GOD, that by doing good you may put to silence
the ignorance of foolish men." [1 Peter 2. 15]

Egotistical and arrogant foolishness are the humanistic, blasphemous
attacking criticisms that are against GOD'S HOLY WORD and HIS
people. "Professing to be wise, they became fools." [Romans 1. 22] "HE
WHO is enthroned in heaven laughs; the LORD mocks and ridicules them."
[Psalms (Tehillym) 2. 4 Tanakh, Kethuvim] Yes, the wicked man schemes
against righteousness -- but "the LORD laughs at him, for HE knows that
his day will come." [Psalms (Tehillym) 37. 13 Tanakh, Kethuvim] Thus,
the best way to silence foolish men, is by doing good.

"When you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is
commendable before GOD." [1 Peter 2. 20] "For it is better, if it is the
will of GOD, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil." [1 Peter 3.
17] "Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of GOD commit
their souls to HIM in doing good, as to a faithful CREATOR." [1 Peter 4.
19] "Shun evil and do good, and you shall abide forever." [Psalms
(Tehillym) 37. 27 Tanakh, Kethuvim]

The LORD MESSIAH YESHUA is the greatest, most unsurpassed EXAMPLE of
this for "when HE was reviled, did not revile in return; when HE
suffered, HE did not threaten, but committed HIMSELF to HIM WHO judges
righteously. " [1 Peter 2. 23] "HE was oppressed and HE was afflicted,
yet HE was submissive, HE did not open HIS mouth; like a sheep being led
to slaughter, like a ewe, dumb before those who shear her, HE did not
open HIS mouth." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 53. 7 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

Of course, everyone has the right to reject every argument and even
ridicule such a life, but they must eventually come to see its sure
foundation. "When they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by
your good works which they observe, glorify GOD in the day of
visitation." [1 Peter 2. 12] "Do not forget to do good and to share,
for with such sacrifices GOD is well pleased." [Hebrews 13. 16]

The LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH bid those who would, "follow ME."
Furthermore, it is "the will of GOD" that we identify ourselves with our
wonderful LORD by "doing good" as we emulate our HEAVENLY FATHER. And
when the GOOD SHEPHERD, the OVERSEER of believers appears, those who
know HIM will be glorified. Such joy and hope we have!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of
Israel!
Man is given the choice of how he will act out in this world; but the
junctions and highways have been set in place by the CREATOR. We have an
AWESOME GOD, and HE is on the throne ruling over the affairs of men. If
only we could see the path as OMNISCIENT GOD has always seen it, we
would have selected it as well. HE is worthy of all our praise and
worship, even in difficult times.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Post  Admin Tue 05 Oct 2010, 1:32 pm

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Where the repentant sinners stand, the haughty, self-righteous may not.
TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED
"He (David) said to his men, The LORD forbid that I should do such a
thing to my lord (King Saul) - the LORD'S anointed - that I should raise
my hand against him; for he is the LORD'S anointed." [1 Samuel (Shemuel
Alef) 24. 6 Tanakh, Nevi'im]
These words have been widely misused, distorted and misappropriated as
warnings to any who would presume to question or rebuke an erring pastor
or other CHRISTian leader. In Israel's government there were three
groups of men specially chosen by the ALMIGHTY SUPREME ONE and then
anointed for their specific office -- prophet, priest or king. And
indeed, the LORD GOD OF HOSTS did not permit anyone to do them wrong;
"HE allowed no one to oppress them and reproved kings on their account.
'Do not touch MY anointed ones; do not harm MY prophets.'" [Psalms
(Tehillym) 105. 14 - 15 Tanakh, Kethuvim] King David first delivered
this psalm into the hands of Asaph on the day they brought the Ark of
GOD into Jerusalem and put it in the Tabernacle that David had erected.
[1 Chronicles/Dibre Hayamin Alef 16]
Moreover, all three offices were completely fulfilled in YESHUA
ha'MASHIACH. The Levitical Priesthood has been abolished as YESHUA OF
NAZARETH is now our ETERNAL HIGH PRIEST. The Prophetic office ceased as
an official office with the completion of the HOLY SCRIPTURES; and the
LORD JESUS has inherited David's throne to reign as KING throughout
eternity.
Anointing in the NEW COVENANT is now accomplished in every true believer
-- "Now HE WHO establishes us with you in CHRIST and has anointed us is
GOD, WHO also has sealed us and given us the SPIRIT in our hearts as a
guarantee." [2 Corinthians 1. 21 - 22] No longer are we dependent on
special instructions and guidance from priests and prophets, for we have
the WRITTEN WORD OF GOD, and the anointing of the HOLY SPIRIT. "The
anointing which you have received from HIM abides in you, and you do not
need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you
concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has
taught you, you will abide in HIM." [1 John 2. 27]
CHRISTians can and should learn and grow spiritually from godly teachers
of the PRECIOUS SCRIPTURES and faithful pastors of the flock. But all,
leaders as well as learners, must continually be subject to correction
from GOD'S HOLY WRITTEN WORD, not as being lords over CREATOR GOD'S
heritage (those entrusted to you) but by "being EXAMPLES to the flock."
[1 Peter 5. 3] "I make your priesthood a service of dedication" says
the LORD GOD OF ISRAEL. [Numbers (B'Midvar) 18. 7 Tanakh, Torah]
It is a privilege and great honour to serve the ETERNAL KING OF
CREATION! Without a doubt, the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA is altogether
lovely.
Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
The more we know about THE PLANNER, the more we can trust HIS plans.
Our GREAT GOD and GOD of our fathers, let our prayers come before YOU.
Turn not away from our supplication, for we are not so presumptuous and
stiff-necked as to say that we are wholly righteous and have not sinned,
for truly we have. The moral law is binding upon all of us at all times,
it demands purity and chastity during our entire life. Chastity, like
honesty, must be unconditional. It must not be limited to any age or
period of life. LORD, help us to see ourselves ad YOU see us. Make us
conscious of our sins and failings; cause us to turn from our evil ways,
and give us strength to make amends for our wrong doings, and grant us
pardon for our sins.
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

Post  Admin Mon 04 Oct 2010, 11:44 am

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Some want to give alms, but have not; others have, but will not.

SEARCHING FOR GOD
"Seek first the KINGDOM OF GOD and HIS righteousness. " [Matthew 6. 33]

Riches, power, health, adventure, fame, peace, conquests, or even an
escape are some of the things people are searching for these days. When
or if they are found, these things still never satisfy, things never
will! To our shame, it is only a few CHRIST-like- ones who realize that
permanent fulfillment or redirection of such desires can be found only
in the LORD GOD OF HEAVEN. . . the ONE WHO created them and designed
them to function in a particular, satisfying way.

While it is true, prudently speaking, that "there is none who
understands, there is none who seeks after GOD" [Romans 3. 11] for there
is no salvation outside of the encouraging incentive of the HOLY SPIRIT
OF GRACE. Everyone is commanded to seek the LIVING GOD, however, and HE
never asked us to do the impossible.

As encouragement, the ALMIGHTY ONE tells us: "If you search for the
LORD your GOD, you will find HIM, if only you seek HIM with all your
heart and soul." [Deuteronomy (Devarim) 4. 29 Tanakh, Torah] "If you
seek HIM, HE will find you, but if you forsake HIM, HE will abandon you
forever." [1 Chronicles (Dibre Hayamin Alef) 28. 9 Tanakh, Kethuvim]
"One thing I ask of the LORD, only that do I seek, to live in the House
of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the
LORD, and frequently inquire in HIS Temple." [Psalms (Tehillym) 27. 4
Tanakh, Kethuvim] "ELOHIYM, YOU are my GOD; I search for YOU, my soul
thirsts for YOU, my body yearns for YOU." [Psalms (Tehillym) 63. 1
Tanakh, Kethuvim]

The wisdom of the ALMIGHTY ONE says, "Those who love ME, I love; and
those who seek ME will find ME." [Proverbs (Tehillym) 8. 17 Tanakh,
Kethuvim] "You will search for ME and find ME, if only you seek ME
wholeheartedly. " [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 29. 13 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

Finding the MASTER'S "perfect will" should be our priority and the
longing desire of our life. Then, we will be completely fulfilled as we
search for the attributes, characteristics and nature of our OMNIPOTENT
CREATOR and make HIS way, ours. The LORD JESUS promises that we will
find HIM, if we truly seek HIM. The most PRECIOUS TREASURE in this life
is found when we find our wonderful SAVIOUR, YESHUA ha'MASHIACH. . .
then HE gives us so much more.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
HEAVENLY FATHER, teach us to emulate YOUR OWN grace and mercy. Cause
YOUR TRUTH to fall upon our hearts like seed upon fertile ground. And,
may we learn to love YOUR Law ever more deeply and to find in it the
beauty of holiness. Keep us mindful that YOU are our HOPE of glory, the
CENTER of our joy. Amen!

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

Post  Admin Sun 03 Oct 2010, 4:19 pm

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Vision looks inward and becomes duty; vision looks outward and becomes
burning desire; vision looks upward and becomes faith.

NO PLEASURE IN DEATH
"Repent, and turn (back to GOD) from all your transgressions; let them
not be a stumbling block of guilt for you. Cast away all the
transgressions by which you have offended, and get yourselves a new
heart and a new spirit that you may not die...For it is not MY desire
that anyone shall die; nor do I have any pleasure in the death of one
who dies -- declares the LORD GOD. Repent therefore, and live!" [Ezekiel
(Yehezke-El) 18. 30 - 32 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

Ever since the fall of man, the ALMIGHTY ONE has done everything HE
could to win us back in reconciliation. HE is the TREMENDOUSLY
REMARKABLE Creator GOD; we are HIS creation. . . therefore we must be
obedient to HIS rules and come to HIM "HIS WAY" -- not ours! HIS WAY is
through YESHUA ha'MASHIACH, the only REDEEMER and HOPE of salvation for
the world. The LORD JESUS said, "I am the WAY the TRUTH, and the LIFE.
No one comes to the FATHER except through ME." [John 14. 6] Thus, JESUS
OF NAZARETH is the exclusive, there is no other way "for there is no
other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
[Acts 4. 12]

Repentance in the OLD COVENANT: "WASH yourselves clean; PUT AWAY your
evil doings from MY sight. CEASE to do evil; LEARN to do good; DEVOTE
yourself to justice; AID the wronged; UPHOLD the rights of the orphan;
DEFEND the cause of the widow. COME, reach an understanding with ME -
says the LORD GOD OF HEAVEN. Be your sins like crimson, they can turn
snow-white; be they red as dyed wool, they can become like fleece. IF
then, you agree and give heed, you will eat the good things of the
earth. But, IF you refuse and disobey, you will be devoured by the sword
-- for it was the LORD WHO spoke." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 1. 16 - 18 Tanakh,
Nevi'im]

Repentance in the NEW COVENANT: The LORD YESHUA declared, "Unless you
repent you will perish" [Luke 13. 1 - 5] "as many as have sinned in the
Law will be judged by the Law, for not the hearers of the Law are just
in the sight of GOD, but the doers of the Law will be justified."
[Romans 2. 1 - 16] "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth
pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Law till
all is fulfilled." [Matthew 5. 17 - 19] The HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL, YESHUA
ha'MASHIACH, the SAVIOUR-REDEEMER- KING, the RIGHTEOUS JUDGE wants a
personal, intimate relationship with each of us!

The woman who was caught "in the act of adultery" [John 8. 2 - 12] is a
good example showing that RIGHTEOUS & HOLY GOD does not find pleasure in
the death of a sinner. The Law demanded that both she and her partner
(...so how did he get away, already?) be put to death.
[Leviticus/Vayikra 20. 10; Deuteronomy/ Devarim 22. 22 - 23] But,
MESSIAH YESHUA did call her to repentance saying, "neither do I condemn
you; go and sin no more." [John 8. 11]

Our transgressions and our sins weigh intensely heavy on us. How can we
survive? "As I live - declares the LORD GOD, it is not MY desire that
the wicked shall die, but that the wicked turn from his evil ways and
live. TURN BACK! Turn back! from your evil ways, that you may not die, O
House of Israel!" [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 33. 11 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

Thank YOU, our LOVING MIGHTY GOD for YOUR amazing and indescribable
grace and mercies to us! YOUR tender mercies truly are too wonderful
for words, Amen.

Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of
Israel!
As we bid farewell to Shabbat ha-Chodesh we are praying for you our
friends, both Jew or Gentile. May you have a heart to know YEHOWAH, that
HE is the LORD of your life; oh, return to HIM with your whole heart.
May each of you be delivered from trouble and harm, or strengthened
through it. Heal us O LORD, make us righteous in YOUR sight. May the
message of GOD'S WORD and the love of YESHUA ha'MASHIACH the SAVIOUR
bless you and bubble-up in your heart to overflowing. Amen
Beloved brethren, we encourage you to stand firm and confident in the
LORD YESHUA. May you be filled with HIS wisdom, knowledge, righteous
discernment, and boldness especially as we go forth in the battle
against the enemies of our saving faith. Go forth victoriously into the
week and take some of Sabbath's sweetness with you.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Post  Admin Sat 02 Oct 2010, 6:51 am

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
If one cannot understand indirect remarks, he will not understand plain
ones either.
RESURRECTION OF ISRAEL
"Thus says the LORD GOD to these bones: 'I will cause breath to enter
into you and you shall live again.'" [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 37. 5 Tanakh,
Nevi'im]
The vision of the "Valley of Dry Bones" had disconnected and scattered
body parts everywhere. It was humanly impossible for these bones to
live but, GOD ALMIGHTY told Ezekiel to preach to them. At the preaching
of the WORD OF GOD, the bones came together. The ETERNAL ONE put sinews
and flesh upon the skeletons making them into bodies; but, with no life
in them. Then the Breath or Spirit (Hebrew: ruwach) was put into them
which caused them to stand upright and live again. The LORD GOD MOST
HOLY described these bones as the Whole House of Israel who had been
dead and whom HE would cause to come up out of their graves from every
land where HE had scattered them.
"In that day this song shall be sung in the land of Judah: 'Ours is a
mighty city; the HOLY ONE makes victory our inner and outer wall. Open
the gates, and let the righteous nation enter, a nation that keeps faith
and truth. YOU have increased the nation, O LORD, when YOU added to the
nation; extending all the boundaries of the land, YOU are glorified and
honoured. Oh, let YOUR dead revive and live! Let corpses arise! Together
with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing, shout for joy, you
who dwell in dust! -- For your dew is like the dew on fresh growth of
herbs; YOU make the land of the shades come to life and the earth shall
cast out the dead. O come, MY people, enter your chambers, and shut your
doors behind you. Hide but a little moment, until the indignation
passes. For behold! the LORD shall come forth from HIS place to punish
the dwellers of the earth for their iniquity. And the earth shall
disclose its bloodshed and shall no longer conceal its slain." [Isaiah
(Yeshayah) 26. 1, 2, 15, 19 - 21 Tanakh, Nevi'im]
"For the LORD has built Zion; HE has appeared in all HIS glory." [Psalms
(Tehillym) 102. 16 Tanakh, Kethuvim] Zion refers not only to Jerusalem,
but to those who live in that City. The MASTER DESIGNER is speaking of
a literal city and a literal people in connection with HIS literal
appearance. The ALMIGHTY ONE will revive the Jewish people spiritually,
politically and nationally.
The GLORIOUS LORD GOD will revive Israel and put them back in their own
land which HE promised to Abraham and will set one KING over them. "The
LORD will pardon Jacob, and will again choose Israel, and will settle
them on their own soil." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 14. 1 Tanakh, Nevi'im]
There is a rebirth of the land as well as of the people of Zion.
ALMIGHTY GOD is giving them the very breath of spiritual life. That
"life" can only come through faith in the PROMISED ANOINTED ONE OF GOD.
They are coming out of their graves of spiritual death and receiving
eternal life by receiving JESUS OF NAZARETH as their long-awaited
REDEEMER-MESSIAH, the SOON-COMING KING.
Truly, YESHUA ha'MASHIACH is THE PROMISED ONE OF GOD to come to Israel
WHO will be their RIGHTEOUS KING in Zion. GOD promised that one KING
will rule in "That Day" when Zion would be built up.
Will you be one of GOD'S called and chosen? Won't you allow the
MESSIAH LORD JESUS rule in your life now and when HE comes again? JESUS
is coming back very shortly for HIS own special people!
Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of
Israel!
Welcome Sabbath – Queen of the week! Welcoming Shabbat Mevarchim,
the Sabbath of Blessing (the new month). May it be YOUR will that the
new month bring us a life of peace, a life of goodness, a life of
blessing, a life of health, and a life of prosperity.
We thank YOU, Great & MIGHTY GOD for by YOUR mercies and grace we were
taught the sanctity of the weekly day of rest, Sabbath is the sign of
the tie that binds us to YOU. Keep us ever grateful and grant us YOUR
perfect rest. Amen
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

Post  Admin Fri 01 Oct 2010, 10:04 am

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
In Israel, the inevitable rarely happens; the impossible often.
SIMCHAT TORAH
"O how I love YOUR TORAH! It is my meditation studied all day long. YOUR
commandments make me wiser than my enemies; they always stand by me."
[Psalms (Tehillym) 119. 97 - 98 Tanakh, Kethuvim]
"SIMCHAT TORAH" means "REJOICING (Joy) OF THE LAW." Celebrated on the
23rd of Tishri (23 Tishri 5771/October 1, 2010), the twenty-third day of
the seventh month. SIMCHAT TORAH is the most joyous day on the Jewish
calendar. It is the day when the reading of the TORAH is concluded in
the synagogue every year and immediately afterward resumed. The custom
of beginning to read Genesis/Bereshith at the same Synagogue service as
Deuteronomy/ Devarim is concluded; this is observed so as not to bring
the Law to an end at any time - the cycle continues!
On the "DAY OF REJOICING OVER THE LAW" special inducements are held out
to the younger members of the congregation to participate actively in
the public service. All assembled in the synagogue are called upon to
pronounce the blessing over the reading of the Law, and even boys
participate. In the house of worship the scrolls of the law, dressed in
beautiful velvet mantles of red, scarlet, blue and white, and ornate
with golden embroidery and inscriptions are taken out from the ARK OF
THE LAW, and placed lovingly in the arms of the men and boys. Little
children holding flags and burning candles praising and exalt in
celebration of the WRITTEN HOLY WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD follow in a
procession up and down the aisles.
Children should be reared and taught in the Laws of the ALMIGHTY, which
Jewish people feel is their religious commandment. It is written in the
JEWISH WRITINGS: "At five years, bound to the COMMANDMENTS; at fifteen
years, the study of the TALMUD." Jewish children are expected to receive
300 hours of religious training throughout the year. So anxious have
Orthodox Jews been for their sons to be diligent pupils that they are
careful to make the boy's first day at Hebrew school (Chadar) an
occasion he will remember all his life. This custom also shows how
deeply attached the Jewish people are to the TORAH (The FIVE BOOKS OF
MOSES: Genesis (Bereshith), Exodus (Shemot), Leviticus (Vayikra),
Numbers (B'Midvar), Deuteronomy (Devarim)) and how great has been their
love of learning.
As the solemn procession circles the Synagogue auditorium, those
assembled there, kiss the garment of the SCROLLS, or touch the SCROLLS
with their fingers and then kiss their fingers. This act shows that the
study of GOD'S LAW is sweet. Their forefathers lived and died to
preserve these for the generations yet to come. Seven times they march
around the front of the Synagogue, singing joyful hymns in honour of the
TORAH, "Be glad and rejoice with the joy of the Law."
How sad is all this rejoicing, when we think of Israel's spiritual
darkness! It is true that "to them were committed the oracles of GOD."
[Romans 3. 2] However, "eyes have they but they see not"
[Jeremiah/Yirmeyah 5. 2] and "blindness in part is happened unto Israel
until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in." [Romans 11. 25]
When Israel's eyes are opened to behold their MESSIAH. . . then it will
be SIMCHAT TORAH in reality!
"All you peoples, clap your hands, raise a joyous shout for GOD. For
the LORD MOST HIGH is awesome, the GREAT KING over all the earth; HE
subjects peoples to us, sets nations at our feet. HE chose our heritage
for us, the excellence of Jacob whom HE loved. Selah
"GOD ascends midst acclamation; the LORD, to the blasts of the trumpet.
Sing, O sing praises to GOD; Sing, O sing to our KING; for GOD is KING
over all the earth; sing a Maskil (hymn of praise). GOD reigns over the
nations; GOD is seated on HIS Holy Throne. The great of the peoples are
gathered together, the assemblage of Abraham's GOD; for the shields of
the earth belong to GOD; HE is greatly exalted." [Psalms (Tehillym) 47.
1 – 9 Tanakh, Kethuvim]
Blessed is the LORD our GOD, KING of the Universe WHO sanctifies us with
HIS mitzvoth and gave us HIS Holy Feasts. May we each have a
life-changing experiencing and "Awake!" as the blast of the Shofar is
dramatically sounded and strive to be holy, even as the LORD our GOD is
holy.
Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Welcome Sabbath of Simchat Torah! We honour and praise the LORD
YESHUA, the ONE WHO gives true Sabbath peace and rest and separates the
sacred from the ordinary; the sacred from the mundane. A truly
wonderful Sabbath of Z'man Simchataynu (the time of our rejoicing)!
The Promised Land of Israel seems small, but it is so great. Thus, we
celebrate together: Shabbos, holy-days, the survival and potential of
the Jewish people; in short everything we can be. Simchat Torah is not
an afterthought, it is the holiday that gives everything else
perspective. Thus, we joyfully proclaim: "Chag Sameyach!" Rejoice and
honour the wonders of the ALMIGHTY ONE and HIS HOLY WORD on SIMCHAT
TORAH!
Giving your all a Chassidic rabbi said. . . that during Tishri, a Jew
serves GOD with one's whole being: On Rosh ha'Shanah with
one's brain, since we remember our deeds; On Yom Kippur with
one's heart, since fasting strains the heart; on Sukkot with
one's hands, since we grasp the lulav and etrog; and on Simchat
Torah with one's feet, when we dance with the TORAH.
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

Post  Admin Thu 30 Sep 2010, 11:45 am

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The TALMUD says that in the days of MESSIAH, all Jews will dwell
together in one gigantic Sukkah.
SHEMINI ATZERET
"You shall take for yourselves on the first day (of Sukkos) the fruit of
the beautiful Hadar Tree (the Etrog), branches of a Palm Tree (Lulav),
boughs from the Myrtle Tree (Hadassim) and Willows of the brook
(Aravos), and you shall rejoice before the LORD your GOD for seven days.
You shall observe it as a Festival of the LORD for seven days in the
year; you shall observe it in the seventh month as a law for all time,
throughout the ages." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 40 - 41 Tanakh, Torah]
Shemini Atzeret (Shemini: eight; Atzeret: solemn assembly - the 8th day
of Sukkot celebration) is likened to the special feast of a king for his
beloved son: For a full week the king celebrated with all his kingdom.
After this week of festivities, the king said to his son, "It is
difficult for me to part with you. Please stay another day to
celebrate." {Atzeres also means "holding back" - referring to the king
who held back his son from leaving with the rest of the celebrants.}
For the full seven days of Sukkot, seventy sacrifices were brought into
the Bais Hamikdash (Holy Temple in Jerusalem) on behalf of all the
nations. If the nations of the world would have known the value of the
Temple for them, they would have surrounded it with fortresses in order
to protect it. GOD ETERNAL set aside an eighth day of celebration on
which only one holiday sacrifice was offered, this one on behalf of the
Jewish nation, and it became a day of unique celebration between CREATOR
GOD and HIS chosen people.
Simchat Beit ha'Sheavah ("Happiness of the House of the Water-Drawing" )
is one of the many practices during this festival. Water and wine are
poured out from different golden pitchers so they mingle together as
they fall onto the ground; thus signifying prayer for abundant rain
necessary for the growth of crops. The Temple celebration during Sukkot
was highlighted by the Ceremony of Water-Drawing for the holyday
offerings. This ceremony was unique in that all year the libations on
the Altar were performed with wine, but on Sukkot, plain water was used.
Yet it was said that "whoever has not seen the joy at the place of the
water-drawing has never seen true joy in his life!" [Sukkah 51] The
joy expressed in this ceremony was the joy of the simple and pure
acceptance of the ALMIGHTY GOD'S will, as symbolized by clear water;
contrasting to the acceptance that is based on the joy of understanding,
symbolized by wine. Spiritually, it prophesied the coming of the LORD
MESSIAH YESHUA and the outpouring of the HOLY SPIRIT.
Observant Jews take the "Arba Minim (taking of the Four Kinds)"of plants
in his hands into the family Sukkah (booth), recites a benediction, then
shakes these three times in all four directions (which also forms a
cross) to indicate that GOD'S glory fills the whole universe. This is
done in fulfillment of the commandment, "On the first day you shall take
the product of hadar trees (Hebrew: p'rietz hadar – the fruit of
beautiful trees), branches of palm trees, boughs of leafy trees, and
willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the LORD your GOD
seven days." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 40 Tanakh, Torah] The four plants
enumerated in the TORAH are the Etrog (lemon-like citron –
symbolizing a world of abundance and peace for all people), Lulav (palm
branch), Hadassim (myrtle) and Aravos (willows).
In our oral tradition, it is explained that each of these Four Kinds
corresponds to a different type of person, from the Etrog, which has
both refreshing tastes (constant TORAH learning) and delightful
fragrance (good deeds) to the Aravah (willow), which has neither of
these qualities. Despite their differences, the TORAH instructs us to
take these four and bind them together, for they complement one another.
So too does the Jew - and Gentile - complement one another; and only
when there is true harmony among all people can we hope for an ideal
existence. May it happen soon and in our time!
Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Welcome Sabbath of Shemini Atzeret! We honour and praise the LORD
YESHUA, the ONE WHO gives true Sabbath peace and rest and separates the
sacred from the ordinary; the sacred from the mundane. A truly
wonderful Sabbath of Z'man Simchataynu (the time of our rejoicing)!
We are so thankful to the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL for HIS miracles that are
with us all day and for the wonders and goodness of every moment.
"Chag Sameyach!" - a joyous Sukkot to you and yours, may these days be
extraordinary and blessed.
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Thought FOR TODAY
A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Sitting in the Sukkah reminds us to be aware of and grateful for the
ALMIGHTY'S absolute protection.
HO'SHANNAH RABBAH
"You shall dwell in booths for seven days; all who are native Israelites
shall live in booths, in order that future generations may know that I
made the Israelite people live in booths when I brought them out of the
land of Egypt, I am the LORD your GOD." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 42 - 43
Tanakh, Torah]
Ho'Shannah Rabbah is the name of the seventh day of Sukkot, and is a
holy-day in itself. It is the final day of Chol Hamoed Sukkot (the
intermediate days of Sukkot). In BIBLE times, the Jews who came to
celebrate the Feast carried lights and torches to the Temple area
illuminating most of Jerusalem and surrounding areas. It was on the
last day of Sukkot, the day of the Great Ho'Sannah, while the people
rejoiced, the water being poured forth and the priests blew the
trumpets, the Levites were singing the Great Hallel (Praise) and the
people were praying, "Ho'Shianah, hatshlichana (Save now, I pray, O
LORD; O LORD, I pray, send us prosperity!) !" [Psalms (Tehillym) 118. 25
Tanakh, Kethuvim]
The LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH stood in their midst to tell them that HE
was the answer to all their celebration! YESHUA knew that a drought
existed in their hearts as Isaiah stated, "All who thirst, come to the
waters." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 55. 1 Tanakh, Nevi'im] "The LORD will
guide you always; HE will satisfy your thirst in parched places...and
you will be like a watered garden, like a spring whose waters do not
fail." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 58. 11 Tanakh, Nevi'im] Thus, the LORD YESHUA
declared to them: "If anyone thirsts, let him come to ME and drink. He
who believes in ME, as the SCRIPTURE has said, out of his heart will
flow rivers of living water." [John 7. 37 - 38] By this, the LORD
JESUS was speaking of the HOLY SPIRIT, which they that believe on HIM
should receive.
Oh Yes! The LORD JESUS is the RAIN for which the people prayed. HE is
the LIGHT of the world, the GLORY that fills the Temple. HE is the WINE
poured out with the water, as well as the WATER OF LIFE. YESHUA
ha'MASHIACH is the LORD OF THE HARVEST, the GREAT INGATHERER! Some
glorious day there shall be a greater ingathering of a greater harvest
which John describes. . . "After these things I looked, and behold, a
great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes,
peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the LAMB,
clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying
out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation (Ho'Sannah) belongs to our GOD
WHO sits on the Throne, and to the LAMB!" [Revelation 7. 9 - 10]
The Sukkot foreshadows MESSIAH'S PROTECTIVE PRESENCE over Israel during
HIS Thousand-Year Kingdom Reign. The HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL promised this
covenant of friendship with the children of Jacob: "I will place MY
Sanctuary among them forever." [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 37. 27 Tanakh,
Torah] As we eagerly await in imminent expectation for that glorious
time, may we be even more urgently faithful to obey and serve as our
LORD & KING commissioned, that we may dwell forever with HIM in that
Heavenly Sukkah.
Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
"Chag Sameyach!" - a joyous Sukkot to you and yours, may these days be
extraordinary and kept sacred. With GOD'S help, the Jewish people will
refuse to be "Weeping Willows" any more.
Have a blessed Z'Man Simchataynu (the time of our rejoicing)! May your
joys increase as you draw nearer to our Great ETERNAL God, the Lord of
GLORY.
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

Post  Admin Tue 28 Sep 2010, 7:29 am

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
He that builds his house with other men's money is like one that gathers
himself stones for his own tomb.
PRISONS OPENED
"The SPIRIT OF THE LORD GOD is upon ME, because the LORD has anointed
ME; HE has sent ME as a HERALD OF JOY to the humble; to bind up the
wounded of heart, to proclaim release to the captives, and liberation to
the imprisoned." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 61. 1 Tanakh, Nevi'im]
The LORD JESUS fittingly appropriated this beautiful verse of the
prophet Isaiah to HIMSELF, preaching from it one day in the Nazareth
Synagogue, and proclaiming: "Today this SCRIPTURE is fulfilled in your
hearing." [Luke 4. 21] YESHUA ha'MASHIACH came to preach the GOOD NEWS
to the meek, not the arrogant and to bind up the broken hearted, not the
hard hearted.
The BLESSED REDEEMER came also to set the captives free. This was not
to deliver the Jews from Roman bondage as many had hoped, but a far
greater deliverance. In Hebrew, the phrase "opening of the prison
(qeqach-qowach: jail delivery)" is only one word occurring only this one
time in the OLD COVENANT. When MESSIAH quoted this SCRIPTURE in the
synagogue, HE actually expanded and interpreted it as follows: "…to
preach deliverance to the captive and recovery of sight to the blind, to
set at liberty those who are oppressed." [Luke 4. 18]
The prison which the LORD JESUS came to open is clearly a spiritual
prison; a binding of the soul; a blinding of the mind. "If the SON
makes you free, you shall be free indeed" [John 8. 36] -- free from the
bondage of sin, changed and transformed "out of darkness into HIS
marvelous light." [1 Peter 2. 9]
Likewise, there was another very real prison deep in the heart of the
earth, to which MESSIAH YESHUA came. While HIS BODY slept in the tomb,
HIS SPIRIT descended into Hades, where HE preached to the spirits in
prison who formerly were disobedient during the flood. [1 Peter 3. 18 -
20] This was not giving them an option for salvation, but YESHUA was
revealing HIS plan of salvation, which they should have known. All who
had died in faith were awaiting HIM; and "when HE ascended on high, HE
led captivity captive...and ASCENDED UP far above all the heavens, that
HE might fill all things everywhere with HIMSELF, from the very lowest
to the very highest." [Ephesians 4. 8, 10]
The MESSIAH YESHUA is the wondrous GIFT OF GRACE lovingly given from our
AMAZING OMNIPOTENT LORD GOD, freely and munificently given to
who-so-ever- will receive HIM; and by HIS shed blood, we are free from
sin and made righteous. How can we help but thank the OVERWHELMINGLY
GREAT RULER OF ISRAEL for HIS immeasurable love to us!
Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of
Israel!
"Chag Sukkot Sameyach! " - a joyous Sukkoth (Festival of Booths)
celebrating the ALMIGHTY ONE'S joyous seasons of life. MOST HOLY ONE,
YOU are blessed beyond all hymns, praises & consolations that may be
uttered in this world. May peace lavishly descend from heaven with life
for us and all Israel. . . YOU are our JOY, our HOPE and our PEACE. We
were greatly blessed when the HOLY ONE has brought us out of slavery
from Egypt (Passover) and took HIS people directly to Mount Sinai. There
HE gave us the Law (Shavuoth) to keep us free from slavery (to sin).
Then, gave us YESHUA ha'MASHIACH. . . to keep us free and give us true
peace and rest (Sukkoth/Booths) .
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Sometimes the only thing less flattering than a bad mirror is a good
one.

LIVING STONES
"The king ordered huge blocks of choice stone to be quarried, so that
the foundations of the House might be laid with costly hewed stones.
When the House was built, only finished stones cut at the quarry were
used, so that no hammer or ax or any iron tool was heard in the House
while it was in building." [1 Kings (Melakhim Alef) 5. 17; 6. 7 Tanakh,
Nevi'im]
The building of Solomon's Temple was one of the most remarkable
construction operations in history. Much renowned and breathtaking
beauty of the Temple in Jerusalem was attributed to the true stones
– most beautiful and costly, quarried from beds of white limestone
which were used in the structure of the edifice.
One of the most remarkable features of its building was the fact that
each stone was carefully cut and dimensioned perfectly while still in
the quarry, so that the HOUSE OF GOD itself could be erected in silence,
with each stone fitting perfectly in place as it came to the Temple
(Hebrew: Heykal) site. The Temple, the structure where the LORD OF HOST
would meet with HIS people, was considered, too sacred to permit the
noise of construction during its erection.
In the NEW COVENANT, the physical "Temple" is taken as a type of the
mighty HOUSE OF GOD being erected by the HOLY SPIRIT. You "have been
built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, MESSIAH JESUS
HIMSELF being the CHIEF CORNERSTONE; in WHOM the whole building, being
fitly joined together, grows into a holy temple in the LORD; in WHOM you
also are built together for a habitation of GOD through the SPIRIT."
[Ephesians 2. 20 - 22]
Each believer is like one of the beautiful Temple stones, so costly that
the price was the shed blood of LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH. Drawn out
(literally: pulled out, specifically chosen – Hebrew: "shalaph") of
the Great Pit of Sin by the HOLY SPIRI, each person, individually, is
being placed quietly in the great spiritual temple. "You also, as
living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to
offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to ALMIGHTY GOD by CHRIST
JESUS." [1 Peter 2. 5]
Oh, that the children of the LIVING GOD would fulfill HIS desire and
command, "Let them make ME a Sanctuary that I might dwell within them."
[Exodus (Shemot) 25. 8 Tanakh, Torah]
Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of
Israel!
As we bid farewell to Sabbath, remember there is light and joy, gladness
and honour for all of GOD's people. Have a blessed week remembering the
HOLY ONE WHOM we celebrate and adore. Arise, O Zion, for the LORD your
GOD will give you horns of iron, and your hooves bronze. You will crush
in pieces many peoples; then you will consecrate their grain, substance
and riches to the LORD, their wealth to HIM WHO is the LORD ADONEY of
the whole earth.
Tov Shavua (Have a good week)! Take some of Sabbath's sweetness with you
celebrating Sukkot!
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
With every problem, there is an opportunity.
LORD & SAVIOUR
"Only I the LORD have been your GOD ever since the land of Egypt; you
have never known a true GOD but ME; for there is no SAVIOUR other than
ME." [Hosea (Hoshea) 13. 4 Tanakh, Nevi'im]
This verse sounds like the first of the TEN COMMANDMENTS, "I the LORD am
your GOD WHO brought you out of the land of Egypt, the house of bondage;
you shall have no other gods besides ME." [Exodus (Shemot) 20. 2 - 3
Tanakh, Torah]
El Elyon (MOST HIGH GOD) did not command us to "have no other gods"
besides HIM because HE is apprehensive or afraid of competition, but
because of the truth in HIS statement, "I the LORD am your GOD, the HOLY
ONE OF ISRAEL, your SAVIOUR...beside ME there is no SAVIOUR that can
grant triumph." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 43. 11 Tanakh, Nevi'im] "The LORD,
WHOSE NAME is Jealous, is an IMPASSIONED GOD." [Exodus (Shemot) 34. 14
Tanakh, Torah]
Man may devise other pretentious gods, but they are figments of fantasy
out of their own imagination, "but in their hour of calamity they cry,
Arise and save us! Where are those gods you made for yourself? Let them
arise and save you, if they can, in your hour of calamity." [Jeremiah
(Yirmeyah) 2. 27 - 28 Tanakh, Nevi'im]
Man's superficial, so-called "gods (money, drugs, fame, sports, alcohol,
self, etc.)" can only bring temporary forgetfulness, if that; as the
"whole creation groans and labours with birth pangs" under sin's curse
and the creature has been made "subject to futility." [Romans 8. 20, 22]
The only true help for us or the world is the SAVIOUR, the LORD MESSIAH
YESHUA.
King David knew this: "YOU are great indeed, O LORD GOD! There is none
like YOU and there is no other GOD but YOU." [2 Samuel (Shemuel Bet) 7.
22 Tanakh, Nevi'im] Samuel's mother, Hannah, knew it also: "My
heart exults in the LORD; my horn is high in the LORD; my mouth is wide
over my enemies; I rejoice in YOUR deliverance. There is no holy one
like the LORD. Truly there is none beside YOU, there is no ROCK like our
GOD." [1 Samuel (Shemuel Alef) 2. 1 - 2 Tanakh, Nevi'im]
"Happy (blessed) are the people who have it so; blessed are the people
whose GOD is the LORD!" [Psalms (Tehillym) 144. 15 Tanakh, Kethuvim]
"Whom else have I in heaven? And having You, I want no one on earth, I
desire only You." [Psalms (Tehillym) 73. 25 Tanakh, Kethuvim] Thus, I
count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of KING YESHUA
my LORD and my GOD.
Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of
Israel!
Welcome Sabbath – Queen of the week! We thank YOU, Great & MIGHTY
GOD for by YOUR grace we were taught the sanctity of the weekly day of
rest and the Sabbath is the sign of the tie that binds us to YOU. Keep
us ever grateful and grant us YOUR perfect rest. Amen
Our prayers for you and your family is for an abundance of peace and
truth to each of you as we celebrate Yamym Noraym (High Holy Days).
"Chag Sameyach - a joyous Sukkot (Feast of Booths)!"
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The issue is not what is believed or what is practiced -- Jew and
Gentile alike will be judged by how well they followed ALMIGHTY GOD'S
commands.
MESSIAH REVEALED TO ISRAEL
From HOLY SCRIPTURE, we can see that when the nations of the world
center their attack on the Jewish people in Jerusalem, the LORD YESHUA
ha'MASHIACH will return to earth to defend Israel against her enemies
for the last time. HE will reveal HIMSELF to those who had been blinded
as to HIS MESSIAH-ship. YESHUA will identify HIMSELF as the "LORD OF
GLORY" through the marks of the wounds in HIS hands and HIS feet, HE
will forgive those who repent of their sin. Also, the RIGHTEOUS ONE
will judge the nations who mistreated Israel, and HE will establish HIS
Kingdom on the Restored Earth with all HIS saints (both Jews &
Gentiles), and rule and reign forever! Even so, "come quickly, LORD
JESUS!"
"For I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem for war; the city shall
be captured, the houses plundered, and the women violated; and a part of
the City shall go into exile. But the remnant of the people shall not be
uprooted from the City...Then the LORD will come forth and make war on
those nations as HE fights in the day of battle. On that day, HE will
set HIS feet on the Mount of Olives, near Jerusalem on the east; and the
Mount of Olives shall split across from east to west making a very large
gorge. Half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it
toward the south. Thus the LORD my GOD will come and all the saints will
come with HIM. And the LORD shall be KING over all the earth. In that
day the LORD alone shall be worshipped and shall be invoked by HIS TRUE
NAME." [Zechariah (Zecharyah) 14. 2, 4 - 5b, 9 Tanakh, Nevi'im]
"In that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come up against
Jerusalem. But I will fill on the House of David and the inhabitants of
Jerusalem with the SPIRIT OF GRACE & COMPASSION; then they will look on
ME WHOM they have pierced and lament because of ME about those who are
slain, wailing over them as one mourns over his favorite son, and
showing bitter grieve as over a firstborn. In that day the great wailing
in Jerusalem shall be as great as the wailing at Hadad-Rimmon in the
Plain of Megiddo." [Zechariah (Zecharyah) 12. 9 - 11 Tanakh, Nevi'im]
{Hadad-Rimmon means "mighty of the pomegranates" it is a place in the
Valley of Megiddo where a national lamentation was held for the death of
King Josiah.)
"In that day a fountain shall be open to the House of David and the
inhabitants of Jerusalem, for purging and for cleansing. In that day,
too - declares the LORD OF HOSTS - I will cut off the very names of the
idols from the land; they shall not be uttered any more. And I will also
make the "prophets" and the unclean spirits vanish from the land. If
anyone "prophesies" thereafter, his own father and mother, who brought
him into the world, will say to him, "You shall die, for you have lied
in the NAME OF THE LORD" - and his own father and mother, who brought
him into the world, will put him to death when he prophesies. In that
day, every prophet will be ashamed of the visions he had when he
prophesied. In order to deceive, they will not wear a hairy mantle
(imitating Elijah) and he will declare, "I am not a prophet, I was
addicted to wine like Noah, the tiller of the soil, hence my
hallucinations and ravings." And one shall ask, 'What are those wounds
on YOUR back and in YOUR hands?' HE will reply, 'From being beaten in
the house of MY friends.'" [Zechariah (Zecharyah) 13. 1 - 6 Tanakh,
Nevi'im]
The promise of salvation the LORD GOD MOST HOLY made to the remnant of
Israel will be fulfilled just as HE declared: "And so all Israel will
be saved, as it is written: 'The DELIVERER will come out of Zion, and HE
will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; for this is MY covenant with them
when I take away their sins.'" [Romans 11. 26 - 27] "HE WHO testifies
to these things says, 'Surely I am coming quickly.'" [Revelation 22. 20]
Even so, come quickly LORD JESUS!
Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of
Israel!
We praise YOU, MOST HOLY GOD and ask that YOUR PRESENCE be manifest to
us in all YOUR works, so that reverence for YOU may fill the hearts of
YOUR creatures. May all the children of men bow before YOU in humility
and unite to do YOUR will with one heart, that all may acknowledge that
YOURS alone is the power, dominion and majesty; and that YOUR NAME is
exalted above all.
Our prayer is for each of you to be reminded that the ALMIGHTY ONE OF
ISRAEL has a standing invitation to come to HIM – all who thirst -
and HE will give us the LIVING WATER OF LIFE, YESHUA, HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN
SON. "Chag Sameyach" – have a joyous Sukkoth.
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

Post  Admin Thu 23 Sep 2010, 8:24 am

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
He who gives a coin to a poor man is rewarded with six blessings. But,
he who encourages him with friendly words is rewarded with eleven.

DELIVERED FROM THE LAW
"For the Law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the
bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to GOD...by so
much more JESUS has become a surety of a better covenant." [Hebrews 7.
19, 22]

The Law of Righteous stands forever (morals, correct behaviour, justice,
honesty). The Law of Atonement (animal sacrifices) is done away with as
it was completely fulfilled in the LORD YESHUA ha'MASHIACH. The Law,
Almighty God declared that we are delivered from, is the carnal, weak
and unprofitable Law of Atonement through animal sacrifice that could
never make anyone perfect. A person does not grow in his spirituality
(become spiritually mature) if he follows the Unprofitable Law (Law of
Atonement) which the ETERNAL ONE has put away. One draws near to the
BELOVED CREATOR -- not by keeping the carnal commandment but by
following a BETTER HOPE -- the LORD JESUS, WHO is the fulfillment of all
the HEBREW SCRIPTURES! "There arises another PRIEST WHO has come, not
according to the Law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the
power of an endless life...For on the one hand there is an annulling of
the former commandment (OLD COVENANT) because of its weakness and
unprofitableness. " [Hebrews 7. 15 - 16, 18]

The entire legal system (called "The First Tabernacle" - Hebrews 9. 8)
was a figure for that time when gifts and sacrifices were offered but
could not make them "perfect" (cleanse them from sins as pertaining to
the conscience). They were outward, fleshly, carnal rituals which were
observed to represent that which was to come and be fulfilled in the
ANOINTED ONE WHO brought about the reformation. HE brought a BETTER
COVENANT, a BETTER SACRIFICE, a BETTER PRIESTHOOD. By the ONE SUPREME
SACRIFICE on the Altar of Calvary, GOD OMNISCIENT has completely "put
away" all ceremonies and sacrifices as found in the Law of Moses.
However, HE allowed the Jewish people to continue observing their
rituals until the destruction of Jerusalem. From that time on they
could not continue under the Mosaic System. This is the way the
ALMIGHTY HOLY ONE HIMSELF made the observance of the Law impossible,
further emphasizing this by the admonition through Paul, HIS Jewish
Apostle: "Therefore by the deeds of the Law no flesh (Jew or Gentile)
will be justified in HIS sight, for by the Law is the knowledge of sin."
[Romans 3. 24 - 31; 4. 1 - 21; Galatians 3. 19 - 25]

The Law of Moses is called "the Law of a carnal commandment. " When one
is delivered from the "carnal commandment" by believing in the LORD
YESHUA ha'MASHIACH , he is putting himself back under bondage when he
continues to observe the carnal law (which has to do with the flesh).
Speaking in regards of the Gentiles conforming to the Laws and rituals
of the OLD TESTAMENT, Peter declared to his own Jewish brothers that
they were as a yoke and were difficult to bear (by him, his Jewish
brothers of his day, and their Jewish forefathers) . Peter questioned
the Jews who were burdening the Gentiles with this yoke. He pointed out
that these rituals under the Law then were not a joy and did not make
the Jewish person any better by observing them.

Peter, speaking of the Gentiles (to the Jews) said, "Now therefore, why
do you test GOD by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which
neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that
through the grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST we shall be saved in the same
manner as they." [Acts 15. 7 - 11]

It is not by our rituals of the Law, but by the GRACE OF THE LORD that
Jew or Gentile shall be finally and completely saved. But didn't our
Jewish brother, Paul, have a vow under the Law which he kept? [Acts 21.
18 - 28] Paul did go back under the Law to appease our own Jewish
people, perhaps to try to win them to their MESSIAH, yet this did not
attract them to salvation, rather they tried to kill him after he had
done this! Also, our father Abraham did not observe the works of the
law since he was before the Law. Nor did he observe the ceremonies,
never kept any of the Feast Days, Sabbaths, washings, etc. - yet he is
called "The Father" of the Jew and Gentiles who believe in the LORD
MESSIAH YESHUA!

The SCRIPTURES show that in the LORD JESUS there is no difference
between Jew and Gentile when it pertains to following the NEW COVENANT.
Both have been set free from bondage of the carnal commandment which has
to do with fleshly works. They are now "spiritual" for they follow the
"Spiritual Commandment" of the NEW COVENANT. One does not carry burdens
of the Law when YESHUA ha'MASHIACH has delivered him from these
burdens. He does not follow a "dead and profitless Law" -- as the
ALMIGHTY ONE HIMSELF called it, when New Life and a BETTER COVENANT has
come!

Oh, my people Israel, and all who have been delivered out of bondage,
the yoke of rituals, the commandments of men with their traditions,
opinions and interpretations. . . MESSIAH YESHUA has made us free; so
stand fast and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage! In the
LORD JESUS CHRIST neither circumcision nor un-circumcision avails
anything, but faith working through love avails everything. [Galatians
5. 1, 6] O taste and see that the LORD is good!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
"Baruch ata Adonoy, Elo-heinu Melech ha'olam, asher kid'shanu
bi'mitzvo-sav, vi'tzivanu lay-shave ba-sukkah." (Blessed are YOU, LORD
our GOD, KING of the Universe, WHO sanctified us with HIS mitzvot, and
instructed us to sit in the Sukkah.)
The TALMUD says that in the days of the MESSIAH, all Jews will dwell
together in one gigantic Sukkah. This underscores the need for Jewish
unity. Perhaps this is the reason why on Sukkot we take the four species
-- Etrog, Lulav, Myrtle and Willow -- bind them close together, and wave
them in all directions. We declare that all Jews are part of the same
unit. And, we pledge to discover how all these parts can work together
to accomplish our lofty goals.
We wish each of you a joyous Sukkot!

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

Post  Admin Wed 22 Sep 2010, 5:12 pm

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Since the Exodus, "Freedom" is spoken with a Hebrew accent.

SUKKOT - FEAST OF BOOTHS
"You shall dwell in booths for seven days; all who are native Israelites
shall live in booths, in order that future generations may know that I
made the Israelite people live in booths when I brought them out of the
land of Egypt, I am the LORD your GOD." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 23. 42 - 43
Tanakh, Torah]

"Sukkot" is the Hebrew word for the Festival of the Feast of
Tabernacles, also known as "Chag ha-Asif (Feast of Ingathering) ." This
is the Season of our Rejoicing for the TORAH commandment to rejoice is
mentioned more often in connection with the holy day of Sukkot then for
any other. It is a national holiday that begins at sunset this evening
memorializing the journey from the land of slavery to the Promised Land.

This Feast emphasizes thanksgiving, celebration and a temporary dwelling
place. It commemorates the 40-years of wandering in the desert and
marks the final harvest of the agricultural year. It is the custom to
dwell in Sukkah (booths, huts) decorated with various kinds of fruits
and flowers. This symbolizes the house where you and the ALMIGHTY
CREATOR will dwell together.

There are nine traditional fruits that are hung in the Sukkah,
symbolizing nine characteristics and attributes of the HOLY LIVING &
TRUE GOD that HE desires for us to have in our lives. The nine fruits
include pomegranates, figs, dates, oranges, apples, grapes, pumpkins,
etrog (citron, similar to the lemon), and the fruit from locust tree (a
chocolate-type fruit). The nine FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT are symbolized by
the nine fruits hanging in the Sukkot. "The FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT is
love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self-control. " [Galatians 5. 22 - 23] There is a remarkable
correlation between the two.

Sukkot is indeed a time of rejoicing, following closely after Yom
Kippur, the Day of Atonement (forgiveness, covering). Sukkot begins on
the fifteenth day of Tishri, at the time of the ingathering of the crops
-- a further cause for rejoicing, as one looks with a sense of
humbleness knowing the LOVING MASTER, blessed be HE, has prospered and
blessed the fruits of one's labour of the previous months.

The seven-day celebration of Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) is the last
of the three pilgrimage festivals, the holy days on which the Jews were
commanded to go up to Jerusalem. A time when all Jewish males over the
age of thirteen were commanded to come to Jerusalem to celebrate. This
is called "Sholosh Regolim" -- the other two Feasts are Pesach
(Passover) and Shavuoth (Pentecost). Women and children joined these
pilgrimages whenever possible.

Sukkot is celebrated for 7 days. However, the 8th day which follows is
a Solemn Assembly known as "Shemini Atzeres (holding back)" --which is
also a Sabbath and a complete holiday in its own right. This speaks of
the future earthly MESSIANIC KINGDOM when peace and righteousness shall
rule and GOD'S people will be observing the Seventh Day Sabbath during
that time they are "resting in GOD" and "GOD resting in HIS people."
Then follows the new day, the New Beginning, the first day of Eternity.
. . a Sabbath forever!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Praised are YOU, O LORD our GOD, KING of the universe, WHO has
sanctified us through YOUR commandments and ordained that we shall dwell
in booths. Praised be YOU, O LORD our GOD, RULER of the world, WHO has
granted us life, sustained us, and permitted us to celebrate this joyous
festival.
"Chag Sameyach" – have a joyous Sukkoth . . .may these days be
extraordinary and richly blessed! Have a truly wonderful Z'man
Simchataynu (the time of our rejoicing)!

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

Post  Admin Tue 21 Sep 2010, 12:20 pm

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Do your work in season and the ALMIGHTY ONE will reward you in HIS time.
DAYSPRING FROM DARK SHADOW
"May darkness and deep gloom reclaim it (the day of Job's birth); may a
gloom-darkened cloud lie over it; may what blackens the day terrify it."
[Job (Iyob) 3. 5 Tanakh, Kethuvim]
After sitting for months in awful misery, Job uttered this doleful,
dismal damnation. Total misery was the principal ingredient of the sad
wailing of the confused patriarch as he finally let go and cursed the
day he was born. [Job/Iyob 3. 3] Job had been living a long while in
the grim "shadow of death" - but could not die. This cry of Job
contains the first of several reference to "the shadow of death" in HOLY
SCRIPTURE. In the OLD COVENANT there are eighteen such references, of
which ten are in the Book of Job.
The HOLY ONE HIMSELF asked, "Have the gates of death been disclosed to
you? Have you seen the gates of deep darkness or the shadow of death?"
[Job (Iyob) 38. 17 Tanakh, Kethuvim] These are well-spoken expressive
questions, for no one in Job's day had ever returned from death.
No one has personal knowledge of what really lies beyond those
terrifyingly depressing doors. No one, that is, except the YESHUA
ha'MASHIACH. HE said, "I am HE that lives and was dead, and behold, I
am alive forevermore, Amen! And I have the keys of Hades and of Death."
[Revelation 1. 18] When the LORD JESUS conquered death, HE destroyed
its sting (not its sorrow). In confident assurance as was King David,
we can say, "Though I walk through a valley of deepest darkness in the
shadow of death, I fear no harm, for YOU are with me; YOUR rod and YOUR
staff - they comfort me." [Psalms (Tehillym) 23. 4 Tanakh, Kethuvim]
The last reference in the OLD COVENANT to the dark shadow of death is. .
. "Seek the LORD, WHO turns the deep darkness and the shadow of death
into dawn; and darkens day into night." [Amos (Amus) 5. 8 Tanakh,
Nevi'im] The last reference in the HOLY SCRIPTURES is when Zacharias,
the father of John the Baptist, thanked GOD OMNIPOTENT that "the
DAYSPRING from on high has visited us; to give light to those who sit in
darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of
peace." [Luke 1. 78 - 79] When we have a personal relationship with the
LORD MESSIAH YESHUA, the sting of death is gone. . . and beyond the Veil
of Death is seen - the Dawn.
Sha'alu (Pray) for the shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of
Israel!
Praised are YOU, O LORD our GOD, RULER of the world, by whose law the
shadows of evening fall and the gates of the morning are opened.
Infinite as is YOUR power, so is YOUR love. By YOUR laws and
commandments, by statutes and ordinances YOU have led us in the way of
righteousness and brought us to the light of truth. Therefore at our
lying down and our rising up, let us meditate on YOUR teachings and find
in YOUR laws true life and length of days. O that YOUR love may never
depart from our hearts. Praised are YOU, O LORD, WHO has revealed YOUR
love through MESSIAH YESHUA.
"Chag Sameyach!" - a joyous Sukkoth to you and yours.
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

Post  Admin Mon 20 Sep 2010, 7:44 am

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
A man's service to ALMIGHTY GOD is sincere when he wants no publicity
for it.

PARALLELISMS OF JONAH
The Book of Jonah is read during Yom Kippur in order to teach us that
the compassion of the ALMIGHTY, TRUE & LIVING GOD extends over all that
HE has created. Jonah was angry with the CREATOR for not destroying
Nineveh. Jonah confused GOD'S hatred of evil in people for GOD'S
abhorrence of the evil person. The mercy and compassion of the
OMNIPOTENT ONE for the people of Nineveh is available to us today.

The ETERNAL KING does not think we are beyond hope. HE does not condemn
us without an AVENUE OF REPENTANCE open to all who will receive HIM:
"For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON, that
whoever believes in HIM shall not perish but have everlasting life. For
GOD did not send HIS SON into the world to condemn the world, but that
the world, through HIM, might be saved." [John 3. 16 - 17] The
government will be laid on the shoulders of CHRIST JESUS the KING and
peace will never end. [Isaiah/Yeshayah 9. 6a, 7b; 22. 22]

Jonah is called. Jonah was in the light; Nineveh in darkness.
Likewise, Israel and the nations. Israel was called to show the light of
the LORD to the nations.
Jonah is disobedient. Israel became apostate and turned merchant.
Israel became a curse to the world as did Jonah to the sailors.
Jonah is in trouble. It is thus with the Jews, trouble has come upon us
and we are tossed about by the sea of nations.
Jonah does not deny GOD or his nationality. So with the Jews; we still
believe in ONE GOD, and confess ourselves as Jews.
Jonah is cast overboard. So Israel is cast away in part for a time, as
at present.
Sailor's conversion. So the Gentiles turned to GOD on the fall of
Israel.
Jonah is miraculously preserved. So is Israel among the nations --
except for a remnant, spiritually dead, yet preserved by the LORD GOD of
all flesh.
Jonah was not digested by big fish. The Jew is not digested by the
nations, he is still a Jew. Assimilation fails!
Jonah is restored. So will Israel. "Salvation (our deliverance) is of
the LORD. Selah" [Psalms (Tehillym) 68. 20 Tanakh, Kethuvim]
Jonah is commissioned the second time and he obeyed. So will Israel!
Nineveh is spared. So will the world be spared who repent at the
preaching of restored Israel.

When Israel's eyes are opened to behold their MESSIAH, YESHUA OF
NAZARETH, all the world will be glad and rejoice with the "SIMCHAT TORAH
(JOY OF THE LAW)."

All in all, the story of Jonah is a grand historical picture of the
MESSIAH'S Resurrection and Mission to all nations. Joppa, is the
town from where Jonah embarked to avoid preaching to another nation.
This was the very same town the LORD GOD chose some 800 years later to
tell Peter to receive men of other nations. [Acts 10] It is also a
prophetic picture of YESHUA'S resurrection on the "third day."
[Matthew 12. 40]

We offer thanks to YOU, our LIVING & ETERNAL KING for YOU have
mercifully restored our soul within us, YOUR faithfulness is
immeasurable!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
HOLY ETERNAL ONE, give us the kindness to hear with compassion, to
offer support, loving comfort and care. Give us the courage to do what
is needed, the wisdom to choose what is right and most fair. Give us the
vision to see what is possible. Give us the faith that will help pave
the way for a present that's hopeful, a future that's peaceful -
give us the heart to bring joy to each day. Thank YOU, ALMIGHTY GOD for
making us a needy people, ever looking to YOU, the AUTHOR & FINISHER of
our faith. Keep us ever mindful to praise, honour and obey YOU, O GOD
our MAKER. May the days following be filled with great joy as we
prepare for Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

Post  Admin Mon 20 Sep 2010, 7:20 am

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Sometimes forgetting can be a higher form of love than forgiving.
SCAPEGOAT, THE AZAZEL
"And he (Aaron) shall take from the congregation of the children of
Israel two kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt
offering. Aaron shall offer the bullock of the sin offering, which is
for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house. He shall
take the two he-goats and present them before the LORD at the door of
the Tabernacle of the Congregation. Then Aaron shall cast lots upon the
two goats; one lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat.
And Aaron shall bring the he-goat on which the LORD'S lot fell, and
offer him as a sin offering. But the goat on which the lot fell to be
the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the LORD, to make
atonement over him, and to let him for a scapegoat into the wilderness."
[Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 5 – 10 Tanakh, Torah]
The Hebrew word for scapegoat or goat of departure is "azazel" - the
word also refers to the evil one or his dwelling. Literally, the lots
were cast so that one goat would go to the LORD and the other (according
to Jewish tradition) to the Devil. However, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL said
the goat was to be led away into a solitary land bearing the sins of the
people after the High Priest laid his hands on the head of the goat and
confessed over it the sins of the people. [Leviticus/Vayikra 16. 20
– 22] This ceremony was one of GOD'S historical fore-pictures
of the "coming atonement" for human sin by the death of MESSIAH
YESHUA. YESHUA became sin for us bearing our sins, taking away the
punishment that was due us.
On the Day of Atonement under the OLD COVENANT, the High Priest would
cast lots on two goats. The lot which fell on one goat would be
"slain unto the LORD" – then it's blood would be carried
by the same High Priest into the Holy of Holies and placed upon the
Mercy Seat. The High Priest had already taken the blood of the bullock
into the Holiest for himself. When he returned to the people after their
atonement – it was the second time he had made his appearance before
them! And so it is with the GREATER HIGH PRIEST WHO came once to give
HIS OWN blood and then after the FATHER'S acceptance of the
Sacrifice when the sins of the people were forgiven, YESHUA
ha'MASHIACH would return at the appointed second time!
The goat which was slain unto the LORD and its blood shed, is typical of
a new and living way into the PRESENCE OF GOD in the Holy of Holies:
"For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to
the Law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet
wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,
saying, "This is the blood of the covenant which GOD has commanded you."
Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the
vessels of the ministry. And according to the Law almost all things are
purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no
remission. Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in
the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things
themselves with better sacrifices than these. For MESSIAH has not
entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true,
but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of GOD for us; not
that HE should offer HIMSELF often, as the high priest enters the Most
Holy Place every year with blood of another — HE then would have had
to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the
end of the ages, HE has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of
HIMSELFÂ…And every priest stands ministering daily and offering
repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this
MAN, after HE had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at
the right hand of GOD." [Hebrews 9. 19 – 26; 10. 11, 12]
The other lot would fall upon the Azazel or Scapegoat:
"Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess
over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their
transgressions in all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat,
and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness.
And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities to a land not
inhabited; and he shall release the goat in the wilderness." [Leviticus
(Vayikra) 16. 21 – 22 Tanakh, Torah]
This scapegoat would carry the sins of the people far from them; it was
a substitute; it was made sin that the people might be excused from the
penalty of their sins! And YESHUA ha'MASHIACH was the SCAPEGOAT, for
HE was the SUBSTITUTE WHO died outside the city of Jerusalem ("in
the wilderness" – Hebrews 13.12) WHO carried our sins from us,
WHO was made sin that we might be made the righteousness of GOD in HIM!
JESUS THE CHRIST has done more than cover up our sins, HE has blotted
them out! HE has moved them as far as the east is from the west; HE
has cast them behind HIS back to be remembered against us NO MORE!
ALMIGHTY GOD ordained that the BLOOD should be the only way of
approaching HIM. This was shown from the very beginning with Adam and
Eve in the Garden of Eden. After they transgressed HIS Law, GOD HIMSELF
slew an animal, shedding its blood, made coats of skin and with them
covered their nakedness. Their sins were covered through the shedding of
blood, by the sacrifice of a substitute.
"Cain brought an offering to the LORD from the fruit of the ground;
and Abel, for his part, brought the choicest firstlings of his
flockÂ…and the LORD had respect to Abel and his offering, but to Cain
and his offering HE paid no heed." [Genesis/Bereshith 4. 3-5] This
looks like the institution of Blood Sacrifice, right at the start, as
the condition of man's acceptance with the RIGHTEOUS & HOLY GOD --
an archaic hint, and the beginning of a long line of pictures and
predictions of MESSIAH'S Atoning Death for the sin of mankind.
When the LORD commanded the people of Israel concerning their
deliverance from Egypt, HE commanded them to take the firstling of the
flock, an innocent lamb without spot or blemish, to shed its blood and
place that blood on the doorpost, then said: "When I see the blood I
will pas over you!" That first Passover, they had to stay where the
blood was, had to stay inside their houses until morning; they had blood
protection!
"Much more then, having now been justified by HIS blood, we shall be
saved from wrath through HIM." [Romans 5. 9 – 10] "Not with
the blood of goats and calves, but with HIS OWN blood HE entered the
Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if
the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the
unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall
the blood of CHRIST, WHO through the ETERNAL SPIRIT offered HIMSELF
without spot to GOD, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve
the LIVING GOD?" [Hebrews 9. 12 - 14] Only the blood of GOD'S
ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON can give life eternal. Not blood flowing in the veins
of the man, even the perfect GOD-MAN, but the blood SHED of HIM WHO was
with GOD in the creation of all things. Only such blood, has power to
purify an unclean soul and give a perfect body at the time of the
resurrection so that we may appear unashamed, at last, in HIS presence.
Before the foundation of the earth, in the mind of GOD ETERNAL there was
set a Day of Atonement for both Jew and Gentile which was fulfilled
2,000 years ago on the Altar of Calvary! We who have accepted GOD'S
wondrous salvation can praise the LORD declaring: "MESSIAH YESHUA is
my LORD, HE is my REDEMPTION for HE was slain in order that I might be
admitted to life everlasting; HIS blood covering my sins."
There is no longer a priest to cast lots, no scapegoats to send into the
wilderness, and no blood to be poured on the Mercy Seat. For those who
know the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA OF ISRAEL, has finished it all. Our
WONDERFUL SAVIOUR, by the sacrifice of HIMSELF, has inscribed our names
in the LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE and we shall never be separated from HIM.
No longer is it necessary that a goat or a bullock or even a fowl (a
ceremony still performed by many Orthodox Jews over all the world
substituting a fowl for a man – called Kapporas Schlagen) shed
it's blood for the remission of sins once every year, for GOD'S
LAMB shed HIS blood once and for all, Jew or Gentile who believes in HIM
can rejoice that there is a Yom Kippur (Day of Covering) for time and
eternity, made possible through the PERFECT KAPPORAH (Sacrifice) WHO is
YESHUA (JESUS), the Only Begotten SON OF THE TRUE & LIVING GOD!
Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
As we bid farewell to Sabbath may gladness reign and joy increase
throughout this Season of the LORD'S Festivals!
GREAT, MIGHTY & AWESOME GOD , I beg for forgiveness on us this Yom
Kippur, the Day of Atonement. If I have offended YOU or my fellow-man
though it be unintentionally, please forgive me. Forgive me for my
hasty judgments, judging others, expressing anger and not saying
"Thank YOU" enough. Thank you for friendship, faithfulness and
kindnesses shown every moment of my life.
In turn, forgive those who are against us speaking untruths, scandals
and gossip; keep us conscious and quick to forgive others and thank YOU
again, LORD for true friends. And, while asking forgiveness, thank YOU
for giving us strength to face each day as tribulation comes, for You
are our HOPE and our JOYÂ…keep our eyes steadfast on YOU, totally
committed through it all.
Open your mouth in holiness and purity, with song and psalm, bless and
praise, glorify and revere, sanctify and ascribe sovereignty to the NAME
of the DIVINE KING, the GREAT, MIGHTY & AWESOME ONE. . . holy is HE!
Take upon yourself the yoke of the Kingdom of Heaven and give sanction
to one another to bless the CREATOR. In tranquil joy of spirit, with
pure speech and holy melody exclaim: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD OF
HOSTS, the whole earth is full of HIS glory."
Gmar Chatima Tova!
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty YOM KIPPUR

Post  Admin Sun 19 Sep 2010, 8:53 am

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
The HOLY BIBLE is an EXTRAORDINARY BOOK, expressing many norms and
principles that have maintained their validity throughout thousands of
years. It proclaims a vision of faith for men that is still valid and
awaiting realization.

YOM KIPPUR
"In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, from evening to
evening, you shall afflict your souls, exercise self-denial; and do no
work at all - For on this day atonement shall be made for you to cleanse
you of all your sins - It is a SABBATH OF REPENTANCE -- a statute
forever." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 29-31; 23. 27, 32 Tanakh, Torah]

Yom Kippur is the day of afflicting your souls. [Leviticus/Vayikra 23.
26 - 32] Perhaps the most important day of the Jewish Year, this is a
day for repentance and forgiveness. Compare Leviticus to James and
learn see for yourself how this "Sabbath of Sabbaths" is meaningful for
CHRISTians today.

Jews "afflict their soul" on Yom Kippur by "fasting" and "praying."
ALMIGHTY GOD pronounced a terrible decree upon those who did not have a
day in which their sins were atoned for. But GOD OMNIPOTENT, in HIS
mercy, has provided the WAY in which everyone can have a Day of
Atonement – the ONLY WAY of forgiveness. ..HIS NAME is "YESHUA."

"For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have assigned it to
you for making AN ATONEMENT for your lives upon the altar; it is the
BLOOD, as life, that effects expiation." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 17. 11
Tanakh, Torah]

This is a prophecy of MESSIAH, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL to come. HE would
be the INNOCENT SUBSTITUTE. Even as the innocent bulls and goats of the
OLD COVENANT ceremonies who "shed their blood" - would die - and by this
death the sins of the people would be forgiven. The OMNISCIENT LORD OF
HOSTS gave HIS SON, YESHUA, as THE ATONEMENT for the soul when HIS blood
was shed for our sin!

On Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), "Aaron shall take two he-goats and
shall place lots upon them; one marked for the LORD and the other marked
for Azazel (Scapegoat) ...and Aaron shall bring forward the goat
designated by lot for the LORD, which he is to offer as a sin offering."
[Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 8 - 9 Tanakh, Torah]

The goat, on which the lot marked for the LORD GOD fell, was slain - its
blood carried by the High Priest into the Holy of Holies and placed upon
the Mercy Seat. The High Priest had already taken the blood of a
bullock into the Holiest for himself. When he returned to the people
after their atonement -- it was the second time the priest had made his
appearance before them! And so it is with the GREATER HIGH PRIEST WHO
came once to give HIS OWN blood. After the FATHER'S acceptance of the
SACRIFICE, when the sins of the people were forgiven, YESHUA ha'MASHIACH
will return at the appointed second time!

"Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat and confess
over it all the iniquities and transgressions of the Israelites putting
them on the head of the goat; and it shall be sent off to the
wilderness." [Leviticus (Vayikra) 16. 21 Tanakh, Torah] This Scapegoat
(Hebrew: Azazel) would carry the sins of the people far from them; it
was a substitute; it was made sin that the people might be excused from
the penalty of their sins! YESHUA ha'MASHIACH was the SCAPEGOAT, for
HE was the SUBSTITUTE WHO died outside the city of Jerusalem. . . (in
the wilderness - "outside the gate" - see Hebrews 13.12). JESUS of
NAZARETH was made sin that we might be made the righteousness of GOD in
HIM! HE carried our sins away from us, removing them as far away as
the east is from the west. MESSIAH has done more than "cover up" our
sins, HE has blotted them out with HIS precious blood; they are to be
remembered against us no more! "Much more then, having now been
justified by HIS blood, we shall be saved from wrath through HIM. For if
when we were enemies we were reconciled to GOD through the death of HIS
SON, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by HIS life."
[Romans 5. 9 - 10]

Our WONDERFUL SAVIOUR, by the sacrifice of HIMSELF, has inscribed our
names in the LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE and we shall never be separated from
HIM. No longer is it necessary that a goat or bullock have its blood
shed for the remission of sins once every year, for GOD'S LAMB shed HIS
blood ONCE FOR ALL. Jew or Gentile who believe in HIM can rejoice that
there is a Yom Kippur for time and eternity made possible through the
PERFECT KAPPORAH (sacrificial covering) this UNIQUE ONE is Yeshua, THE
ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF THE LIVING GOD!

Have you found the blood of atonement? "Behold! The LAMB OF GOD WHO
takes away the sin of the world!" [John 1. 29] Are you trusting in
GOD'S SMITTEN LAMB, the SUPREME SACRIFICE? The LORD MESSIAH YESHUA –
JESUS - is the only ONE WHO can satisfy your soul!

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
Welcome Shabbos Shabbason! According to the TORAH, Yom Kippur is called
"Shabbos Shabbason" – a day of total rest...may you be greatly
blessed this Awesome Day!
O LORD our GRACIOUS & MERCIFUL GOD, YOU have given us in love this
Sabbath Day for holiness and rest, and the Day of Atonement for pardon,
forgiveness, and atonement that we may, in love, obtain pardon thereon
for all our iniquities. Thus, we keep the Sabbath and call it a delight
for YOU found pleasure in the seventh day and did make it holy; YOU did
call it the Desirable of Days, in remembrance of the creation.
O KING, pardon and forgive our iniquities and restore YOUR people; and
let our eyes behold YOUR return in mercy to Zion. Please strengthen the
bonds of friendship and fellowship among all the inhabitants of our
land. Plant virtue in every soul, and may the love of YOUR HOLY NAME
sanctify every home and every heart. Praised are YOU, O LORD, GIVER of
peace. We again bless YOU, O LORD, WHOSE NAME is ALL-GOOD, and unto
WHOM it is becoming to give thanks!

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

Post  Admin Fri 17 Sep 2010, 12:27 pm

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
None of us are immune to the deep pain of not being forgiven.
PRAYER OF ATONEMENT
"O LORD, open my lips, and my mouth shall declare YOUR praises. YOU are
blessed, O LORD our GOD and GOD of our fathers, GOD OF ABRAHAM, GOD OF
ISAAC, GOD OF JACOB. YOU are the GREAT, MIGHTY & REVERED GOD, the MOST
HIGH GOD, WHO bestows loving kindnesses, and possesses all things, WHO
remembers the pious deeds of the patriarchs, and in love will bring the
Redeemer to their children's children for YOUR NAME'S sake.
Remember us unto life, O KING, WHO delights in life, and inscribe us in
the BOOK OF LIFE, for YOUR OWN sake, O ETERNAL LIVING ONE. O KING,
HELPER, SAVIOUR & PROTECTOR. Blessed are YOU, O LORD, the SHIELD of
Abraham. YOU, O LORD, are mighty forever. YOU quicken the dead, YOU
alone are mighty to save.
YOU, O LORD, sustain the living with loving-kindness, quicken the dead
with great mercy, support the falling, heal the sick, loose the bound,
and keep YOUR promise to them that sleep in the dust. Who is like YOU,
LORD of mighty acts, or who resembles YOU, O KING ETERNAL, WHO kills and
quickens, and causes salvation to spring forth?
Who is like YOU, FATHER OF MERCY, WHO in mercy remembers YOUR creatures
unto life? Yes! Faithful are YOU to quicken the dead. Blessed are YOU,
O LORD. YOU are holy and YOUR NAME is holy, and holy beings praise YOU
daily. There is none like YOU, INIMITABLE HOLY ONE! Selah
Now, therefore, O LORD our GOD, impose YOUR awe upon all YOUR works, and
YOUR dread upon all that YOU have created, that all works may fear YOU
and all creatures prostrate themselves before YOU that they may all form
a single band to do YOUR will with a perfect heart, even as we know, O
LORD our GOD, that dominion belongs to YOU, strength is in YOUR hand,
and might in YOUR right hand, and that YOUR NAME is to be feared above
all that YOU have created.
Give then glory, O ETERNAL ONE, unto YOUR people, praise to them that
fear YOU, hope to them that seek YOU, and free speech to them that wait
for YOU, joy to YOUR land, gladness to YOUR Holy City, a flourishing
horn to David, YOUR servant, and a clear shining light to the SON OF
JESSE, YESHUA ha'MASHIACH, YOUR ANOINTED -- speedily and in our days.
Then shall the just also see and be glad, and the upright shall exult,
and the pious triumphantly rejoice, while iniquity shall close her
mouth, and all wickedness shall be wholly consumed like smoke, when YOU
make the dominion of arrogance to pass away from the earth.
YOU, O LORD, shall reign! YOU alone over all Your works on Mount Zion,
the dwelling place of YOUR glory, and in Jerusalem, YOUR Holy City. . .
as it is written in YOUR HOLY WORD: "The LORD shall reign forever, your
GOD, O Zion, for all generations. Hallelu'YAH. " [Psalms (Tehillym) 146.
10 Tanakh, Kethuvim]
YOU, O LORD GOD are holy, and dreaded is YOUR NAME and there is no GOD
beside YOU, as it is written: "The LORD OF HOSTS is exalted by judgment,
the HOLY GOD proved holy by righteousness and retribution. " [Isaiah
(Yeshayah) 5. 16 Tanakh, Kethuvim]
YOU, MASTER, have chosen us from all peoples, YOU have loved us and
taken pleasure in us, and have exalted us above all tongues; YOU have
sanctified us by YOUR commandments, and brought us near unto YOUR
services, O LORD our KING, and have called us by YOUR GREAT & HOLY NAME.
Blessed be the GLORIOUS NAME of our LORD GOD OMNIPOTENT! Amen"
Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
May this day be a life-changing experience as you consider your latter
end and turn to the LIVING GOD of all grace and mercy! Our beloved
friends, our prayer is that the ETERNAL GOD OF HEAVEN will hear our
prayer and give us a renewed spiritual awakening, increase our love and
brotherhood among us and by MESSIAH YESHUA, HIS SON'S atoning blood, and
be inscribed for a good and sweet year. May your life be offered up to
GOD as a priest would offer up a repentance sacrifice! Have a long life
filled with GOD'S peace, and abundant rich blessings.
KOL NIDRE (All Vows)
Tomorrow night we will stand in the synagogue and declare our sins,
intentional and unintentional and ask the ALMIGHTY to forgive us, pardon
us and grant us atonement.
At this time of renewal of our collective conscience maybe we should
start with loving each other and learn to accept each other, helping
them to stand up for YOUR TRUTH; to accept the responsibility of
defending the Promised Land of Israel from its many enemies. Defend us
also from our sins of impurity of the lips and foolish speech, of
running to do evil, of scoffing, evil speech and arrogant expressions
which caused our thoughts to fly to wickedness and dictatorial abuse of
power, not only here but throughout the western world.
We must learn to measure our words, whatever things are true, whatever
things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure,
whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there
is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — we should
meditate on these things. Please, LORD GOD OF HOLINESS, give us the
patience to await the truth. . . create in us a clean heart and renew a
unwavering spirit within; uphold us by YOUR GENEROUS SPIRIT and keep us
ever mindful of our obligations to YOU and to others. We give you our
thanks, our praise, and our humble hearts. Amen!
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.

Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY - Page 35 Empty Re: Delrifkah: Thought FOR TODAY

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Our WONDERFUL SAVIOUR, by the sacrifice of HIMSELF, has inscribed our
names in the BOOK OF LIFE and we shall never be separated from HIM.

A SEARCH FOR BLOOD ATONEMENT
The following account has many anonymous authors told in various ways
for Yom Kippur:

One spring evening an elderly Jewish gentleman related the following
experience to a gathering of Jews. He said: "This is Passover week
among you my Jewish brethren, and as I sat here I was thinking how you
will be observing it. You will have put away all leaven from your
houses; you will eat the matzoth (unleavened wafers) and the roasted
lamb. You will attend the Synagogue Services, and carry out the ritual
and directions of the Talmud, but you forget, you have everything but
that which YEHOWAH required first of all, HE did not say, "When I see
leaven put away, or when I see you eat the matzoth, or the lamb, or go
to the synagogue" - but HIS WORD was "When I see the blood, I will pass
over you." [Exodus (Shemot) 12. 13 Tanakh, Torah] Ah, my brethren, you
can substitute nothing for this. You must have blood...Blood. ..BLOOD!

As he repeated this word with increasing emphasis, his black eyes
flashed. "Blood! that is an awful word for one who reveres the ancient
oracle, and yet has no sacrifice." Turn where he will in THE BOOK, the
blood meets him, but let him seek as he may, he cannot find it in the
Judaism of the present.

"I was born" - he went on – "in Israel, nearly 70 years ago. As a
child, I was taught to read the Law, the Prophets and the Psalms. I
attended the synagogue and learned Hebrew from the Rabbis early in life.
At first I believed what I was told, that ours was the true religion,
but as I grew older, and studied the Law more intently, I was struck by
the place the blood had in all the ceremonies outlined there, and
equally struck by its utter absence in the ritual in which I was brought
up."

"Again and again I read in the 12th chapter of Exodus and Leviticus 16 &
17. The latter chapters especially made me tremble as I thought of the
Great Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) and the place the blood had there.
Day and night one verse would ring in my ears, "It is the BLOOD that
makes atonement for the soul." [Leviticus/Vayikra 17. 11] I knew I had
broken the Law. I needed atonement. Year after year, on That Day, I beat
my breast as I confessed my need of it, but it was to be made by blood,
and there was no blood!

"In my distress, at last, I opened my heart to a learned and venerable
rabbi. He told me that the ALMIGHTY ONE was angry with HIS people.
Jerusalem was in the hands of the Gentiles (this before 1967), the
Temple was destroyed, and a Mohammedan mosque was reared up in its
place. This is the only spot on earth where we dare shed the blood of
sacrifice in accordance with Deuteronomy 12 and Leviticus 17 was
desecrated and our nation scattered. That was why there was no blood.
GOD HIMSELF had closed the way to carry out the solemn service of the
Great Day of Atonement. Now, we must turn to the TALMUD and rest on its
instructions. We must trust in the mercy of ALMIGHTY GOD and the merits
of the fathers.

"I tried to be satisfied, but could not be. Something seemed to say that
the Law was unaltered, even though our Temple was destroyed. Nothing
else but BLOOD could atone for the soul. We dare not shed blood for
atonement elsewhere than in the place the LORD GOD MOST HIGH had chosen.
Then we were left without any atonement at all!

"I was over 30 years of age when I left Israel and came over to
Constantinople, with my still unanswered question ever before my mind,
and my soul exceedingly troubled about my sins. One night I was walking
down one of the narrow streets of that city when I saw a sign telling of
a meeting for Jews. Curiosity led me to open the door and go in. Just as
I took my seat, I heard a man say, "the blood of Jesus Christ His Son
cleanses us from all sin." [1 John 1. 7]

"This was my first introduction to Christianity, but I listened
breathlessly as the speaker told how HOLY GOD had declared that "without
shedding of blood there is no remission" [Hebrews 9. 22], that HE had
given HIS SON, the LAMB OF GOD, to die, and all who trusted in HIS blood
were forgiven all their iniquities. This was THE MESSIAH of
Yeshayah/Isaiah 53 -- THE SUFFERING SERVANT of Tehillym/Psalms 22!

"Ah, my brethren, I had found the blood of atonement at last. I trusted
it, and now I love to read the NEW COVENANT and see how all the shadows
of the Law are fulfilled in MeSSIAH YESHUA. HIS blood has been shed for
sinners. It has satisfied OMNIPOTENT GOD, and it is the ONLY MEANS of
Salvation for either Jew or Gentile."

Have you found the blood of atonement? "Behold! THE LAMB OF GOD WHO
takes away the sin of the world!" [John 1. 29] Are you trusting in
GOD'S SMITTEN LAMB, the SUPREME SACRIFICE?

Sha'alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of Jerusalem and all of Israel!
While this breath of life is in me, HOLY LORD of all worlds, I worship
YOU. Help us, O GOD, to banish from our hearts all vain glory, pride of
worldly possessions, and self-sufficient leaning on our own reason. Fill
us with YOUR SPIRIT of meekness and grace of modesty that we may grow in
wisdom and in reverence. May we never forget that all we have and prize
is but lent to us, a trust for which we must render account to YOU. O
HEAVENLY FATHER, put into our hearts the love and awe of YOU, that we
may consecrate our lives to YOUR service and glorify YOUR NAME in the
eyes of all men. Amen

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is praying for the return of Messiah
Jesus and His Kingdom.
