What you would like to discuss Here please Empty Re: What you would like to discuss Here please

Post  Spirit_Quest Fri 08 Jul 2011, 6:55 pm

This is in reply to Foster Carers. Not all are as "safe & loving" as assumed. I, for one am living proof. As a child, of 2 years and up to the age of 9, I was tortured, terrorized, and neglected, on a daily basis. Records prove these. According to the documents, the "system" knew I was being abused, but didn't have anywhere to put us, they let me continue "living there" for 2 more years. On many occasions, I thought it was my last day on earth. Yet, I knew, "felt" I wasn't alone. Don't mistake what I'm about to tell you, as a
"negative" because I know it isn't. I felt a dark spirit with me, the whole time, when the
beatings were over. "He" stayed with me for hours, in the darkness of the locked closet.
Sometimes, days. This "person" couldn't have been a dark spirit because there was only love, warmth and comfort for this tiny little girl. God will clear this with me I'm sure when
He knows I'm ready. Please, I ask you again, not to judge me, before you've walked in my shoes. Only He can do that. Love, Light & Blessings

What you would like to discuss Here please Empty Re: What you would like to discuss Here please

Post  Spirit_Quest Mon 01 Mar 2010, 2:14 am

This is in regards to a book I once had but lost, while moving to another house. I found it absolutely fascinating as it pertained to Mary. Our Holy Mother. It focussed on her messages given to a woman who's son had passed on. This woman was a vessel chosen by Mary to share these messages to whomever wanted to hear the good news of Christ and all his teachings. Among the messages was one where Mary said it doesn't matter by what name you call God, but just that you believe in Him, no matter what. She also stated that we are all here and a part of each other so we should work toward one goal, to help one another and create world peace, if only a little corner at a time. I gathered she meant the ripple effect of one good deed to another. I hope to find this book again, but if any of you know of it, please let me know who the author is. I can't even remember the name of it, only that it was a very special and deep meaningful one. Blessings

What you would like to discuss Here please Empty Provoking to Anger

Post  Admin Fri 20 Mar 2009, 11:24 pm

What provokes you to anger?
We are taught to judge rightiously
In the world today, the admonition not to "judge" is frequently used to place a virtual gag order over those who would speak up against popular and accepted world practices. Even some Christians will use a "don't judge" stance
May we use this place to explore together those things which we are against to widen out outlook
We need have a wider view, may this thread help us to get a better perspective on how God looks on things and how we should react in his love.

We need to bring scriptures if at all possible please along with your thoughts.

What you would like to discuss Here please Empty Illness- disability- Death

Post  Admin Tue 10 Feb 2009, 9:13 pm

Illness- disability- Death
I would like us to open discussion on the above, from a few things that has happened recently.
Some posts online, others in personal PM and my family situations at present.
We go through periods of our life where these things do not cross our mind, and sometimes as we get older and the fact that death has no time limit youth or old age we may ponder on.
Is good to share our thoughts which may be a help for others.

Foster carer's in Focus
As Christians......
We know our body is the temple of the Holy ghost
It is said that changes are in the pipe line that any smokers or obese person will not be allowed to foster.
Many of these people are non Christians, or who may be smokers or what is termed as obese.
They do a wonderful service in taking on children from broken homes or for a family in need of a helping hand etc.,

Are they dividing society, should this go ahead?

What you would like to discuss Here please Empty Should Christians be proactive what happens in Governments

Post  Admin Sat 24 Jan 2009, 9:38 pm

Is it a Christian responsibility to be somewhat in the know of what is happening in our Governments:

Is it enough to pray?
or
Should we be more proactive?
Is there scriptures to back this up?

It is my hope we can get a discussion on this in what we believe.

What you would like to discuss Here please Empty Getting on the Property ladder

Post  Admin Sat 24 Jan 2009, 9:31 pm

This question involves a case study. If you have useful practical ideas please share them. We want to be able to bounce ideas off each other and see if we can find a way to help this young christian man.

Points for consideration:

1) A young man has been looking into buying himself a house. At the moment it seems even his cheapest option is a run down house that will leave him with a 30 year mortgage and no money to live out of his wage packet after mortgage, bills and travel to work taken into account.

2) Housing prices in the UK have increased at an alarming rate that makes it near impossible for a young person/family to get on the property ladder.

3) His family is prepared to help him out with groceries etc, but this is little life for a young man in the UK today; and potentially not the best way to handle finances within the family as it can sometimes lead to resentment and obligation instead of love and support. They all live nearby.

4) Alternatively he can wait on the Lord for provision, but with house prices rising and no alternative job prospects on the horizon currently would this be trusting God or shooting the breeze?

5) Currently this young man is living at home in a rented accommodation with a relatively unwell mother. Should anything happen to her he will be homeless.

6) The price of rent is comparitive to the mortgage and other bills.

7) Biblically we are cautioned to 'count the cost' (Luke 14:28)

Luke 14:28 "For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it?"

Any thoughts will be appreciated. We have included as many details as we think prudent to help anyone with any ideas give an imformed opinion.

Although this is based on one particular case and we are interested in helping out this young man other advice for alternative situations will be appreciated also.
this is a problem that many young people are encountering.

If you live overseas and there is a different system there that you feel may be relevant please feel free to share it - one never knows what may spark a thought or solution from another person.

What you would like to discuss Here please Empty Burden or Melencholy spirit

Post  Admin Sat 24 Jan 2009, 9:23 pm

God presses on our heart a burden to pray and/or come closer?

Often God does burden us with a person or persons to pray for.
How do we differentiate the difference and how furthermore, do we resolve if is an melencholy spirit how to hand this over to Jesus and what is our responsibility as caring brothers and sisters.

Post  Admin Sat 24 Jan 2009, 8:46 pm

There is much said about false prophets which yes we are to beware of.

I would like us to look at our own deeds and ponder our thoughts on heavenly rewards we have been promised.
Let a man examine himself are we sending up stubble and hay?

God resists the proud springs to mind.
Talking with Emma at the moment made me to bring this as Topic.

Happy to be Homosexual and yet Christian

At the moment is in the media Ray Bolz has announced
Quote "Happy to be Homosexual and yet Christian"
The bible shows us this is a sin.
Also do not judge!

We have had this before in other discussion as another phrasing I will combine both replies bringing over from our MSNGroup
But

Can we get to grips with this
in on how God deals with this and us?

Sci-Fi Predictions

Gods Word says Daniel 12:4
"and knowledge will increase."
Isaac Asimov, HG Wells and George Orwell inspired generations of inventors, and some of their fictional devices are eerily similar to real life innovations.
CCTV – as imagined by George Orwell in ‘1984’ (1949)
In one of the most famous dystopian imaginings, George Orwell plunged his character Winston into a world of paranoia and suspicion, watched over by the sinister Big Brother. First published back in 1949,
The Internet – as imagined by Mark Twain in ‘From the London Times of 1904’ (1898)

Thoughts on this as discussion would be interesting
