Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Vengeance is the Lord’s
Romans 12: 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give
place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay,
saith the Lord.
Worldly people think it is unmanly to not take vengeance so they will plot
and plot and go to any extreme to show their manhood by taking vengeance
and that too paying back at least twice.
On the other hand we see those who are religious following other religions
like Hinduism go to their gods to pray and bribe them for vengeance. There
are few gods, goddesses like Shiva, Kali, Durga etc. very known for such
favor so they ask the temple priest / baba to do things like black magic on
their adversaries.
The funniest part is the adversary if a Hindu will also go to the same
god/goddess to get the magic removed and both then praise the same goddess!
When it comes to Christianity / Bible we need to understand our God is not
like other gods/deities who focus revenge on the person. In today’s message
even though God says I will take revenge yet He does not desire to harm the
person but the evil; that is why He also tells us to pray for our enemy and
not to rejoice on their fall.
God does not hate people but the evil and if the person does not
disassociate himself or herself from that evil then that person too become
an enemy of God. It is for this reason Jesus loved and did what was right
in the sight of God so that evil is made His footstool/ashamed. Jesus’
sacrifice on the crucifix is an example of God’s perfect revenge since it
helped many overcome evil.
Let us understand God and thus let us not focus our hatred or discontent
against people but against their deeds or mindset. Let us learn to love
people irrespective of what they do to us.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty Holy God. Lord before your presence evil cannot exist
thus even when man sinned and knew evil You did not crush man but gave him
a chance to change and disassociate from evil. Your enmity is against
darkness / evil, You do not fight it but simply overcome it for You are
light. Lord we pray we walk in your ways and learn to love those who hate
us also pray for those who harm us...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
Romans 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in
the sight of all men.
Leviticus 19:18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the
children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I
[am] the LORD.
Proverbs 24:17-19,29
17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad
when he stumbleth:
18 Lest the LORD see [it], and it displease him, and he turn away his
wrath from him.
19 Fret not thyself because of evil [men], neither be thou envious at the
wicked;
29 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to
the man according to his work.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Teleportation in the Bible
Acts 5:22,23 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison,
they returned, and told, Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all
safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had
opened, we found no man within.
We see in Sci-Fi movie series like Star Wars, Star Trek or Avengers people
getting transported from one place to another like a telephone call. They
open a channel to the destination and the molecular structure with all its
information and characteristics are sent so as to recreate the same at the
destination.
Human concept of teleportation is of moving an object via communication
means but even if that was practically possible it would not be moving but
creating a copy of the same. Also this could be possible only with objects
and not with living beings.
Today we have 3D scanners and printers which can replicate objects even at
far distances. As the base materials for printing increases we will see
more and more variety of objects being created.
Since man has yet not understood life or spirit it is not in the preview of
man to teleport or even recreate life. Man assumes life exist because of
the natural properties that are associated with life, for instance electric
charges, so man thinks by giving the right amount of electric charge parts
can be bought back to life so people experimented at reanimating parts and
they managed that with parts of human body like organs or tissue for a
period but then it cannot be truly called life. This helps to keep the part
useable state till it is transplanted into another living human being but
if all parts of a human are put together they cannot create another human.
Frankenstein was such a friction creation of human imagination.
We see on the other hand many records of teleportation of people in the
Bible both in OT and NT. Today’s message talks of one such incident where
the Apostles were put in a prison and an Angel of the Lord teleports then
out of that place. Teleportations did not happen only when the people were
in grave situations for we see Philip also being teleported from one place
to another as he was preaching and doing the Lord’s mission.
We talk of great faith but when we look in reality our faith is just
little, if the faith of even one man was real strong there would have been
a fear of God amongst the people of the world.
While I was writing on the topic ‘Prayer’ the Lord did allow me to
experience what strong faith can do and it is just imaginable. Jesus said
even if our faith is little but strong (without doubt) like a mustard seed
which is small but does not have any air pocket (air symbolizes doubt that
is why Satan is called prince of the air) we can tell a mountain to be
moved and it will move (teleporting objects).
For small things like heals we struggle; teleporting objects and people is
out of our syllabus for our faith is little/weak full of doubts.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God. You are Spirit and your Kingdom is Spirit Kingdom. This
natural world is temporary and cease to exist when the renewal process of
man is complete. Lord we pray we overcome the natural world restricted by
dependence on our senses and see things in the spirit led by your Spirit...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 8:26-27, 39-40
26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south
to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place.
27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of
great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge
of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord
caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way
rejoicing.
40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all
the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
John 6:19-21
19 When therefore they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs,
they behold Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the boat: and
they were afraid.
20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
21 They were willing therefore to receive him into the boat: and
straightway {immediately} the boat was at the land whither {where} they
were going.
1 Kings 18:11-12
11 And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah [is here].
12 And it shall come to pass, [as soon as] I am gone from thee, that the
Spirit of the LORD shall carry thee whither I know not; and [so] when I
come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me: but I thy
servant fear the LORD from my youth.
Ezekiel 3:14-15
14 So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness,
in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me.
15 Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the
river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished
among them seven days.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Blindness and Condemnation of Sins
John 9:25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner [or no], I know not:
one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
This incident of healing of the blind man who was born blind and Jesus
saying ‘his blindness was not for his sin or that of his parents’ had me
thinking since I knew about the relationship between sin and sickness, and
then when I was writing on the same on august 1 things became clearer to me..
Today the Lord wants to the see this same scripture along with John 9:41,
He wants us to know the responsibility with being able to see. The Lord is
not talking of natural sight but spiritual sight.
We all are very happy as Christians that we know Christ, but we do not know
the dangers of knowing Him and not following Him. At times I tell people it
is better they forsake Christ and die as unbelievers if they are not
willing to follow Christ.
Jesus said when they know Him, He becomes the Rock which they fall on are
devoured or which falls on them and devours them worse. Either way we or
part of us dies after knowing Christ.
Those who are blind suffer their sins in Hell but those who have sight and
still continue in sin will not suffer their sins but for rejecting the Son
/ Truth and that is even worse punishment (described as Lake of
Sulphur/Fire).
When our spiritual eyes are open our battle with our sin nature starts and
in this battle we die, either our old sin nature or our spirit. If our old
sin nature dies our spirit gets to live eternal life.
Let us not be foolish even after having spiritual sight to think all is
well, for our battle starts when we get sight. Let us not be fooled by
‘Abundant Grace’ or OSAS (Once Saved Always Saved) preachers who will send
us to Lake of Fire.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. The Heavens are your abode. You are Holy Lord
and in your dwelling place nothing corrupt dwell there in. You Lord removed
us so that we are restored and able to be returned back. Lord help us
understand the importance of becoming overcomers for You made us to be
light that overcomes darkness...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
John 9:41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin:
but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
John 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin:
but now they have no cloke for their sin.
Luke 12:47 And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not
[himself], neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many
[stripes]
Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the
knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Luke 20:18 Every one that falleth on that stone shall be broken to pieces;
but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will scatter him as dust.

Rich and those in need do not know Christ
Luke 18:23 And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very
rich.
People get very offended with me when I tell them those who are rich are
very unlikely to be true Christians. Even when Jesus stated this the people
there took offence and were shocked.
All most all ministries who are well settled have a cowshed of fat rich
Christians whom they milk regularly for ministry work. What you will see is
even though these people do lots of activities on a large scale yet they
bear very little fruit, they will sow a thousand seeds and will share
testimonies of a couple people. Compare this to smaller poorer ministries
who sow ten seeds and yield 5 to 7 testimonies / souls for God’s Kingdom.
The last place to hear the truth about Christianity is at a conference held
in a 5star hotel or a grand stadium where the organizers paid millions.
Prosperity Gospel is the biggest killer of Christianity as big as
traditions (religiousness).
The problem is not only with the rich but also with the needy (not to be
mistaken with poor). Those who struggle to meet their needs show that they
do not know God and they have little faith. God said I am your Father and
the word in Greek means Creator, Protector and Provider, that is the reason
we are instructed by Jesus not to call any human as our spiritual father or
mother, even though we may be their spiritual children. The people who
minister to us (Pastors) are simply substitutes / representatives of Christ
/ Father.
Let us check our lives and see if we are rich then we are not giving
enough. We may be giving the largest amount amongst others we know, yet God
says we need to overflow (give beyond our needs). Let us also check if we
are always struggling in our needs then we need to work on our faith.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God. You are Father. You are our Creator, Protector and
Provider. You Lord created us and assured us You will always provide us our
needs. You Lord also commanded us to overcome this world for your world is

we overcome the desires of this world so that we do not lose our
inheritance in your Kingdom. This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

possessor of heaven and earth:
20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies

21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take

22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the
LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth,

because of the Pharisees they did not confess [him], lest they should be
put out of the synagogue:
We always have been told to submit to authority but sadly it is not a
biblical concept as put by all. Yes Bible says we are called to submit to
authority provided the authority itself is under submission to its greater
authority.
In today’s message we see people saw the Pharisees did wrong yet the common
Jews submitted to them all because they feared they would be cast out of
the Jewish community / synagogue.
Think of it, if a Man of God backslides and stops submitting to God but
instead submits to Satan (evil), would a person submitting to him be
abiding in God or Satan (evil)? Will that person please God or receive His
wrath?
Bible says God submitted to His Word (lifted His Word above Himself), so if
I am submitting to God I need to submit to His Word, since God and His Word
are one (unchangeable) then we do not have any doubt between them. But any
person standing in the position of God (God given position) is not
unchangeable and is prone to temptation or backsliding. In these cases we
need to check if that person is commanding us in the ways of the Lord or
away from God. We are called not to submit to any person leading us away
from God whatever his position may be. Also God does not say we need to
rebel against that person or go public and abuse that person, in the Bible
the Lord gives us steps in which we are called to correct a misled Brother
or Sister in Christ.
Let us always remember no ‘Man or Woman of God’ going against the Will
(Word) of God can be a blessing for us. Let us discern people and what they
instruct us and make sure they are building us in Christ. If we do not
understand or are confused, let us be patient and wait on the Lord, but if
we are sure they are going against God’s Will then let us not fear them
instead fear God more.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God, yet your Word says You lifted your Word even
above your Name. Lord we pray we understand and know to whom we need to
submit to and thus discern people who claim to stand in your Name. Let us
not follow ‘another christ’ or a ‘false Prophet/Man of God’...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not
pardon your transgressions: for my name [is] in him.
22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then
I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine
adversaries.

yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account,

unprofitable for you.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Dangers of Losing Salvation
1 Corinthians 5:2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that
he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
This is one question which Preachers / Pastors rarely take up with the
congregation they minister to, ‘can one lose his or her salvation?’
We all hear ‘good preaching’ saying ‘all is well’ as far as you are a
‘Christian’, ‘God’s grace is on you and His grace is sufficient’.
Meaningless slogan that have no relation with reality is a thing not only
of politician but mainly of ‘religious’ people, they use terms which they
themselves have no idea of.
Just for example a few minutes back a person had passed some nasty comments
on a group of youth who were spreading the Gospel not according to his
acceptable ways and he used the term ‘Gentiles’. When I asked him what the
word meant, he immediately said ‘those who do not know God’..
People truly lack Bible study (including Preachers and Pastors) and they
echo what someone does from any big stage/TV show. The term ‘Gentiles’ was
used even for Jews (especially of Galilee) and comes from the term ‘not
following customs/statutes’. When Christ or the Apostles used it, they
referred to the ‘lost sheep’, those who are of God but are lost and living
a life contrary to God’s Kingdom.
Coming to salvation, it is connected with faith. To have faith and to
remain in the faith (keeping it) both are important. We receive the grace
to be saved by our faith. That means if I have faith I have grace and if I
do not have faith I stop being in grace thus I lose my salvation. I cannot
believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and next day reject Him and
still think I am saved.
We need to also understand grace is not a green ticket, it is like having
all the help need, it also does not mean God does the job. The Hebrew word
comes from the root word ‘mercy’. Grace requires us to do out 2bit for God
to do the rest. I simplify grace as a person requiring 35marks to pass, now
the teacher cannot give grace marks if the student leaves the paper blank
or gets zero, in God’s case he or she needs to have at least get 1 mark for
God to give the remaining 34 marks.
We do have scriptures which tell us of ‘predestined’ or ‘no one being able
to snatch us from the hands of God’, but they are scriptures not properly
understood. Being in the flock cannot assure us salvation, for the flock
also has goats along with sheep. The sheep will truly not fail and no one
can snatch them from God’s hand but how do we know we are sheep or goats
just being in the flock? Also we need to take great caution for the ratio
between sheep to goats is very high, goats out numbering sheep twice (the
ratio is very high in the start and reduces near to the end – maintaining
the average of 2:1).
Being a Christian (sheep) requires us to follow Christ, knowing about
Christ or simply believing about Him does not qualify us as Christians. I
tell people Believers may not enter Heaven but Christians will, initially
they are taken back but then realized what I meant.
If we are not shining the light of Christ then let us introspect our lives
and ask ourselves, ‘am I truly a Christian and will I go to Heaven?’
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord can see all things across space and
time, nothing is hidden from You. You are not fooled by our actions or
words but see the heart and it’s intend. Lord we pray I do not just believe
in You but follow You and live our lives according to You Will. We pray we
shine your light so that we be fruitful Christians and assure our
inheritance in Heaven...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

John 10:28-30 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one
will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is
greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the
Father are one.
Ephesians 1:4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be
holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to
sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because
anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards
those who earnestly seek him.
James 2:26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds
is dead.
2 Peter 1:10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to
confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will
never stumble,
1 John 2:15,24
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the
world, love for the Father is not in them.
24 As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in
you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father.
John 14:21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.
The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them
and show myself to them.”
Hebrews 3:14 We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our
original conviction firmly to the very end.
Hebrews 12:16-17
16 See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a
single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.
17 Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was
rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not
change what he had done.
2 John 1:8-9
8 Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may
be rewarded fully.

does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father
and the Son.

Are we set free from sin?

Are we set free from sin?
Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God,
ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
When one read today’s scripture in isolation one will surely think Paul
said we are already set free from sin, become servants of God, are holy
people and already have everlasting life in us.
It is very important to keep in mind the context of the scripture (always
read with a few verses before and after if it is part of a continual
sentence). Also important is to study the actual Greek / Hebrew word root
meaning and its grammar.
If we look at the Greek word ‘eleutheroo’ translated a ‘made free from sin’
is not in the present past tense but its T (tense) V (voice) M(mood) is
Aorist, Passive, Participle respectively. I have mentioned before Greek has
7 tenses and Aorist is like past, present and future together. Also
important to note is the root meaning of ‘eleutheroo’ means ‘bornfree’.
Thus if we go by the grammar and root meaning the word does not imply we
are free of sin but implies we were intended to be free of sin even before
we were born in the flesh.
If we look at the previous and following scriptures, we read, the context
of the topic is about the result at the end. So it implies at the end when
we become servants (bonded labor not to be misunderstood with slavery -
doing the mission of God) we overcome the sin nature and thus are free of
sinning further. This also enables us to receive the Fruit of Holiness and
the gift of eternal life (residence in Upper Heavens).
Even though salvation is a personal choice (no person can save another
being, one has to make one’s personal choice to be saved), yet we need
others to assure us of our salvation. It means when we work for other’s
salvation (guiding them and supporting them) we only reconfirm or
strengthen our own salvation. Again these ‘works’ are not works of
righteousness but works of faith.
We are not saved if we are not servants of God. Unless we do not do the
Will of the Father which we see in Jesus Christ we cannot fool ourselves to
be inheritors of eternal life. Let us allow the Holy Spirit/ Spirit of the
Son to work in us and through us so that we become Sons of God and
inheritors of His Kingdom.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Holy God. You Lord created mere man even though
in your plan You have only transformed man. Lord we pray we understand
unless there is no transformation in the Spirit we are only fooling
ourselves about our salvation. Faith and grace only brings us to receive
the Holy Spirit by whose help we are transformed. We pray we truly follow
Christ and do the Will of the Father like He did...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Romans 6:20-23
20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

the end of those things [is] death.
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have
your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of
yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
Matthew 7:22-23
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in
thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many
wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, Except a man be born again {from above}, he cannot see the kingdom of
God.
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons
of God.
Ephesians 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye
may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory
of his inheritance in the saints,
Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to
be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament,
that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that
were] under the first testament, they which are called might receive the
promise of eternal inheritance.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Revealing of Light and Darkness
Romans 1:18, 19 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all
ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in
unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in
them; for God hath shewed [it] unto them.
When God created man, God kept man away from knowing darkness / corruption.
But then man like any created being could not appreciate goodness unless it
knows darkness or corruption.
All things that God created, God said it is ‘good’ yet man wanted to know
‘evil’ and the only things that was evil was the Satan(s) and the fallen
angels. The Lord (the Body) was the only one who knew this corruption and
Satan tempted man to also know this corruption. When Satan asked man to eat
of the Tree of ‘Good and Evil’ (Doubt) saying he would become like God, it
did not mean man would become divine but experience corruption like the
Heavenly Temple experienced with the falling of one third of the Angels.
I love to see the expression of people’s faces when I tell them ‘like Satan
wants to kill you, so also God wants you to die and like God wants you to
be blessed in life so also Satan wants to you to enjoy life’. It is later
they realize I was referring to God wanting us to die a carnal death so as
to enjoy spiritual life and Satan wants us to enjoy carnal life so as to
die a spiritual death.
As the Spirit of God works amongst the people and increases amongst them,
we also see the manifestation of carnal nature. Today’s scripture says they
both are for the glory of God. This has nothing to do with Yin Yang
(Chinese Philosophy) or balance of forces of nature /cosmos (Hinduism) for
these philosophies are primary based on human observation or experiences.
Creation (universe) was not created out of chaos but out of a plan. God
created all things by design for purpose, so letting the existence of
darkness or evil was in the plan of God (He did not create it but allowed
it to come to existence) so that His overcoming light may be known.
Today as we see evil and corruption let us not be disheartened nor thank
God for it, but look at it as opportunity to let the light of the Lord
shine through it. Only people who have experienced darkness will truly
understand the goodness of His light.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty Holy God. In You alone is Perfection and nothing
created by You is perfect as You. You Lord desire us to be perfect thus
allowed us to see corruption so that with your help we overcome it and be
perfect. Lord help us understand the things You desire to bless us with
after we overcome darkness, so that we know this suffering us nothing...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Callings and Missions
Acts 9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen
vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the
children of Israel:
In yesterday’s message we saw how people are influenced more by what people
preach of the Word instead by what the Word actually says.
Yesterday I was an exhibition distributing NTs and got to share the Good
News to many. But more so what impacted me was meeting some specific people
namely a ‘Christian’ from birth who was going to great hardship and thought
there was nothing wrong with it, that it was God’s will he suffer. He had
come there with a person (in fact dragged there) to help us distribute.
That person told me of his problems and asked me to counsel him. So I spoke
to him about blessings and curses, how God had already given everything we
needed even before He created us and it was we who delay or quicken
receiving it. Later I prophesied over him and I saw some hope shine in his
eyes.
The second person was a person waiting on God to know his Calling. He had
received a message from the Lord to wait on Him for 332 days. After I spoke
to him, he realized the waiting was not to know his Calling but to be built
in it and he had seen things moving already.
Today’s message talks of Calling and mission (specific) of Paul. We know
Paul was an Apostle by Calling and in today’s message we read about his
mission.
Both Calling and mission which the Lord has given us does not change in our
lifetime. I have seen many anointed Men and Women of God deceived by others
to keep changing Callings, from Evangelist to Prophet or to Apostle. They
think just because they prophesize they become Prophets, also because they
lead other leaders they become Apostles.
Lack of understanding of Callings has caused great damage and suffering to
the Church. We (not just Catholic Churches but even Believer Churches) have
been following Nicolaitan system without knowing. The Body of Christ till
date (after 300AD) has been a Frankenstein.
If we understand today’s message which was the mission of Paul, we will
understand the work of Paul and why even though he was very competent yet
restrained to work in his Calling and mission domain.
Today’s message says Paul was called to work in 3 areas, firstly ‘Gentiles’
(those who are lost) – thus he moved from place to place reaching out to
them, secondly ‘kings’ (rulers, leaders) – thus he reached out to civil
administrators, Jews leaders and also became a beacon to other Christian
Church leaders, lastly ‘children of Israel’ – this was not referring to
Jewish children. Paul did not run Sunday schools. It referred to those
little in Christ or those spiritually growing. It is for this reason almost
all the letters of Paul speak very basic elementary fundamentals of
Christianity and do not touch on higher spiritual topics. It was not that
Paul did not know about them, but was not led to share on them.
Peter says in his second letter if we are aware of our Calling and mission,
and work in it then we will never fail.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are perfect and thus You alone are
Holy. Lord we know in your wisdom You created all things. You made all
things according to design and purpose. We pray Lord we do not try to be
smarter than You trying to correct You, but instead work in the Calling and
mission You have given us even before You formed us in our mother’s womb...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Where is Jesus?
John 9:12 Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
Yesterday we saw how lack of knowledge can lead to fear and binding our
ability to recognize Christ.
In today’s message we see the man who was healed of his blindness by Jesus
was asked where he was (the one who healed him) and that man said he did
not know. Today almost all Christians fall in the position of the blind
man. They were spiritually blind and in their blindness Christ touches them
and heals them, but even after they are healed on the blindness yet they do
not know Christ, as to who He really is and where He is.
Ask any Christian, ‘where is Christ?’ and like little kids they will say
‘in my heart’, then they foolishly point to the natural organ called heart.
If cross questioned further they will say not the natural heart but the
spiritual heart, referring to the inner-man. And if asked to describe the
inner-man and as to how Christ can be resident there. They will not only
confuse you but also confuse themselves further, for I have yet to come
across one person who knows well on the inner-man.
Note when Jesus healed this man He applied a layer of clay made with mud
and spit on his eyes! Did Jesus need to do that, could He not just touch or
simply speak and heal Him?
We can only understand this by finding the place where Jesus performed this
and how Jesus rebuked them for their lack of faith. Jesus had to do this
stun so that their faithlessness does not prevent Him for healing him.
Faithlessness of the person and of the people around could cause even Jesus
Christ to not heal or do miracles. If we understand it we will know why
famous Healers do maximum healing in public events but not in personal one
to one sessions; it is not their faith alone that works but also the faith
of other that plays a major role.
Lack of knowledge and understanding can not only cause fear but also
prevent God from working in our lives.
In OT many words are translated as ‘heart’ in English translations are
actually words like Hebrew leb (mind), lebab (inner-man), lebbah (thinking,
understanding), nephesh (soul), me’ah (bowels, belly), qereb (within, core)
and Aramaic bal (mind)
Just think how people will react when you tell them the organ which Bible
equates with love (innermost emotions) is not the organ heart but the
‘kidney’ (Hebrew ‘kilyah’ and translated as ‘reins’ in the English Bible)!
This fact alone will tell you how many really know the Bible and truly
study the text instead of blindly believing what people preach about it.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are God. You are Spirit and your world is
not this world which is full of corruption and misinformation. Lord we pray
we learn to abide in your Spirit and learn for your Holy Spirit for true
understanding comes only from Him. Lord open our hearts and minds to know
You and your Word...

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Being afraid - good or bad?
John 6:20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
We all may have heard Preachers state there are 365 times in the Bible
where it mentions ‘do not be afraid’.
Fear is a window like lust or hatred through which Satan can attack. Fear
comes through lack of knowledge. But then we also have scriptures which
state fear of the Lord is the first step towards wisdom and wisdom helps us
know the truth. So is fear good or bad?
In today’s message we see the disciples feared for they did not recognize
it was Jesus. They spend days with Him yet were unable to see it was Him,
the thing that caused them not to recognize was they seeing a man walking
on water that too in a stormy sea, the fear of the situation had blinded
their sensibility to see.
We hear and do not listen (faith comes by hearing and listening, not just
by hearing), we look and do not see, we perceive and do not understand and
all this happens when we are far from God or far from the truth.
Truth is a Fruit of the Spirit and is good because it saves us and sets us
free from corruption but truth also can also be dangerous if we are not in
right standing with God. A glimpse of the truth causes our step towards
righteousness and this brings us (whole as a body) to receive the truth
which then lets us receive true righteousness (Fruit of the Spirit) when
Jesus comes again. Truth and righteous is what Adam and Eve lost by eating
of the Tree of Doubt (Good and Bad) in Eden (Paradise) which caused them to
become corrupt and be exiled from Eden. So we see doubt is also key factor
for fear like truth can.
Fear can come when truth works in us or when doubt works in us. If it is
fear due to truth then it will help us come closer to God but if the fear
is due to doubt then it will open a window through which Satan to take hold
of us and destroy us. Fear of God is important till we are totally in the
truth (which is far as on now) but let us analyze the root of our fear for
that is key for the direction we tend towards.
Paul stated right until his last letter that we need to work our salvation
(works of righteousness) with fear and trembling. It was only in his second
letter to Timothy he was sure of his crown of righteousness.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are alone are Truth, Righteous and
Holy. In You alone is perfection and You desire we who are your children to
also be perfect like You. Lord we pray we receive your Spirit of Truth so
that the fear in us may not be that which destroys us but that which builds
us in You. Help us grow in You and be overcomers that we may never fear.
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 8:15 For ye received not the spirit of bondage again unto fear; but
ye received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Proverbs 9:10 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom; And the
knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
John 6:17-21
17 And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it
was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.
18 And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.
19 So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they
see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were
afraid.
20 But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
21 Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the
ship was at the land whither they went.
2 Timothy 4:8 henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at
that day; and not to me only, but also to all them that have loved his
appearing.
Deuteronomy 8:6 And thou shalt keep the commandments of Jehovah thy God,
to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
1 Peter 2:17 Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king..
Psalms 23:4 Yea, thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I
will fear no evil; for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they
comfort me.

because fear hath punishment; and he that feareth is not made perfect in
love.

Tried and Tested to make the Right Fit
Mark 2:21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else
the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is
made worse.
We know when we buy new clothes, they then to shrink or expand depending of
the temperature of water and physical force while washing them that is why
new clothes are suggested to be hand washed in cold water to reduce
shrinking. Of late the fabrics are put through a process even before they
are used to make the product so that this effect is greatly reduced. One
must have heard of girls bathing with jeans on so that they get the body
hugging fit.
Today’s message even though talks of clothes yet has nothing to do with
them. It is about us.
God could have not created us as humans but directly made us what we will
become after Judgment Day, but He did not and He chose to put us through a
process so that we become tried and tested so as to perfectly fit into His
plans.
People who think man will continue to be man in Heaven, will be in for a
great surprise, for it is said the things that await is beyond man’s
imagination.
Let us not lose heart or be feeble while we are going through tough
difficult times here on earth (not sicknesses but persecutions) for His
Kingdom’s sake for that assures us we will be amongst those who will be in
Heaven in His glorious design.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty, Omnipresent God. You created all living beings
knowing our nature. Fruits of the Spirit need to be earned and Heaven is
founded on the Fruits of the Spirit thus You put us through a process so
that we engrave your Nature/Name into us. Lord we pray the Truth
strengthens us while we go through the transformation and like Paul said
rejoice in all things, especially through persecution...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 22:29-30
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the
scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage,
but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Ephesians 4:11-12
11 And he gave some [to be] apostles; and some, prophets; and some,
evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto
the building up of the body of Christ:
1 Thessalonians 3:13 to the end he may establish your hearts unblameable
in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with
all his saints.
2 Thessalonians 1:7 and to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the
revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with the angels of his power in
flaming fire,
Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto
me, See [thou do it] not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Victory over Death
Romans 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more;
death hath no more dominion over him.
When we read today’s scripture in isolation we think it talks of actual
death. But we look at the preceding and following scriptures we find it
speaks of another death.
In yesterday’s mail I wrote a little about spiritual life, so even though
in the natural God limited life to 120years yet our spiritual life still
continues to be a few thousands of years.
People do not fear God because they lack understanding of spiritual life,
many think they would go to Hell and be killed by some monsters after being
tortured for a short period. They are fooled about Hell being ruled by
Satan (Dragon and the Beast) and their goons, it is like saying criminals
rule a state prison.
Hell is prison like Peter plainly puts. This prison is controlled by the
Angels of God and not Satan (he is bound here until the end). In Hell there
is no pounds of fire or drums of burning oil like depicted by paintings in
the Catholic Church. Hell is a prison where every cell is like a solitude
cell. The fire is not external but internal and is the burning of sins that
each one carries. That means in Hell each one can be aware of the suffering
of the others but cannot see or communicate with them.
Spiritual death is unlike natural death where life switches off. Spiritual
death does not change the time period of the person for it still remains
the same, what death does is cause decay of life by suffering.
If we realize the problem is not sin but the consequence of sin. What sin
does to us in the spirit is horrifying. People think just by getting
forgiven all matter is settled. They do not realize even after Christ died
on the crucifix yet He was still performing a sacrifice and went wandering
in the wilderness and did not allow Mary the Magdalene top touch Him until
He ascended to the Father and returned back. His main goal was not just
forgiveness of sins but more to make peace between man and God so that we
receive the Spirit of God who restores the damages sin does.
Today’s message talks of carnal death which is the removal of the erosion /
corruption caused by sin. This corruption causes us to serve sin like a
drug addict is drawn to drugs. It is only by the power of the Spirit of God
that we can overcome death and this happens not after our natural death but
while we are alive, today’s message it is written not only for Christ but
also for us when those who overcome sin resurrect, death will have no power
over them.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are life and abundant life. You Lord
desire that we too receive this abundant life when we are united / married
with You in Heaven. Lord we pray we understand the dangers and consequences
of sin so that we walk in it no more. We also pray your people truly no
only break the bondage of sin but also undo the damage sin has done to us
by the power and working of the Holy Spirit...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised

1 Peter 3:18-20
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust,
that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but
quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God
waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few,
that is, eight souls were saved by water.
John 20:17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended
to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my
Father, and your Father; and [to] my God, and your God.
Matthew 28:7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from
the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see
him: lo, I have told you.
Luke 24:13-15
13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus,
which was from Jerusalem [about] threescore furlongs.
14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed [together] and reasoned,
Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found
the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in
the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
John 20:26-27
26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with
them: [then] came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and
said, Peace [be] unto you.
27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands;
and reach hither thy hand, and thrust [it] into my side: and be not
faithless, but believing.

Giving the wise in the same coin
Mark 11:29,30 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of
you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do
these things. The baptism of John, was [it] from heaven, or of men? answer
me.
In Apologetics and Polemics we learn how to debate and answer people, the
methods used are from examples stated in the Bible. Here we see Jesus
answering the worldly wise with a question and not with an answer.
When people are not interested to hear your answer but interested to
question and trap you then the best means of answering them is to cross
question them; we see both Jesus and Paul did that in many places.
We should teach about the Bible only to those who desire to learn and grow
in the Lord, hitting people with the Bible or teaching people with devious
intentions to abuse scriptures / mock the Kingdom of God / harm the people
of the Lord is the most foolish thing to do. One should discern whom and
when to teach things of the Bible. It is depending on the condition of our
inner-man that the Lord opens scriptures to us, the purpose of the truth is
to edify, but to a heart not set right in the Lord it can only quicken
destruction.
Some days back I had a session on End-times to a very small crowd and
shared about things which I never dared to for they were real hard things,
even amongst them none received all; each one took a part which they could
digest. I am sure the Lord will over time slowly condition their hearts to
receive in its time since it was He who led me to share it. In the start
itself I told them what they hear they would understand after a month or so..
Let us set our hearts right before God so that we can receive the truth and
be built in Him.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. Although You are present everywhere yet the
Heaven are your abode for your glory shine there the most. Lord we pray we
be carriers of your glory thus help us set our hearts right before You.
Like a deer when it is thirsty even dares to drink water from the water
hole in the presents of carnivorous animals who can kill it, so also give
us the courage to receive your Word at all costs...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
Mark 11:27-33
27 And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple,
there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,
28 And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who
gave thee this authority to do these things?
29 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one

30 The baptism of John, was [it] from heaven, or of men? answer me.
31 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From
heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?
32 But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all [men]
counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.
33 And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus
answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do
these things.

again and rend you.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Zealous towards God yet far from Him
Acts 22:3,4 I am verily a man [which am] a Jew, born in Tarsus, [a city]
in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, [and]
taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was
zealous toward God, as ye all are this day. And I persecuted this Way unto
the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
We come across many who are zealous towards God and these are not only
amongst Christians but also amongst non-Christians. Being zealous does not
mean a person is close to God or the person knows God.
In today’s message we read about Paul who as a Jew was very zealous towards
God and thus to study the Jewish laws, which he assumed were the Law of the
Lord he started his training under one of the most influenced and
celebrated Pharisee in his time. This man Gamaliel was not only famous but
also was the grandson of Hillel a person considered as the facto authority
on Jewish Laws. The Talmundists say that upon the death of Gamaliel the
glory of the law departed.
We find many Christians love to get tagged to famous preachers whom they
consider as their spiritual ‘fathers’ or ‘mothers’ and thus land up far
from God. The Preacher may make them zealous towards God but that does not
mean they lead them to know God. We should realize Jesus Christ was the
only being who saw God the Father yet as man could not lead His own
disciples, He knew no being in the flesh could be the perfect teacher thus
handed them over to His Spirit to lead them. It was on after the disciples
were baptized in the Holy Spirit that they started to understand all that
Jesus as man taught them.
If you are led by a Pastor or Minister of the Lord who is not handing you
over to the Holy Spirit then it is time you rethink following him or her.
Some may take less time while other more time but ultimately one needs to
see some light at the end of the tunnel. If there is no light at the end of
the tunnel than that tunnel leads to darkness and not to light.
Let us remember the Lord Himself said only by His Spirit and His Word
(Truth which the Spirit reveals) that we will be set free.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are Omnipresent and Omnipotent. You are
Spirit and only those who are led by your Spirit can know You and be like
You. We pray Lord we seek your Spirit more than seeking man. May the Sun be
our light source and not the Moon...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
Acts 21:19-21
19 And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God
had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
20 And when they heard [it], they glorified the Lord, and said unto him,
Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe;
and they are all zealous of the law:
21 And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which
are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to
circumcise [their] children, neither to walk after the customs.
1 Corinthians 14:12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual
[gifts], seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
1 John 5:5-6
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is
the Son of God?
6 This is he that came by water and blood, [even] Jesus Christ; not by
water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth
witness, because the Spirit is truth.
John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that
I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but
if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Spirit and only those who are led by your Spirit can know You and be like
You. We pray Lord we seek your Spirit more than seeking man. May the Sun be
our light source and not the Moon...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Acts 21:19-21
19 And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God
had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
20 And when they heard [it], they glorified the Lord, and said unto him,
Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe;
and they are all zealous of the law:

Doing ungodly things in the name of God
John 5:6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time
[in that case], he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
In the incident of Jesus healing the man with infirmities who laid in wait
besides a lake to take a dip in it at an auspicious time so as to be
healed, since the Jews believed that when the water stirred it was an Angel
of the Lord who did it and thus the first man jumping in it would be
healed. This man had no one to help him and had difficulties in jumping at
that exact timing so waited since years in belief.
In the OT Lord had commanded certain washings as a statutes and the Jews
had taken these statutes to extreme. The Muslims learnt from the Jews their
washing rituals like before meals or before prayer (with a few
modifications). Even today the Jews follow rituals like Mikveh
(purification by dipping in water) which is more pagan.
Mikveh is believed to be originated with the healing of Naaman the Syrian
commander who was a leper at the hands of Elisha, who asked him to take a
dip in the river Jordan. Naaman was not healed because of dipping in water
but by his obedience to a Man of God. In NT scriptures the term washing
used for ‘washing of sins’ is not washing in water but a medical cleanings
like that done to wounds or to a dead body.
Jesus and His disciples detested the traditions of washing of the Jews so
much that they did not wash before meals, not for hygiene reasons but more
so not to certify the Jewish beliefs.
The Catholic Church is famous for its many ‘Church’ traditions which have
nothing to do with Christianity and the Believer Church which came out of
it did not come out clean but carried some of its baggage. Today also if we
introspect our ‘Church’ traditions we will be surprised at their origins.
Let us not blindly follow things even if they are done taking the name of
the Lord or in name of ‘Church traditions’. Let us remember what Paul said
anything done without faith (believing the truth) is sin.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Celebrating Feasts
Acts 18:21 But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this
feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God
will. And he sailed from Ephesus.
There is always a debate between various sections of the Church if feasts
need to be celebrated and also which feasts are important and which are
not. A section says Christ abolished all the laws and we live in grace so
celebrating of feast is stopped. Another section tries to celebrate them as
the Jews did/do, so they use a lot symbols (not knowing what they are) and
get into human rituals (which angers God).
The irony is the Jews never understood the feasts and majority of the
Christians do not celebrate any of the feasts commanded by the Lord, the
ones they celebrate has nothing to do with Christ but in fact connected to
pagan deities.
Jesus said He did not come to abolish the Law but fulfil it so everything
in the OT stands valid but we are not called to do them as the Jews did.
Feasts were never a law but were a statutes and that too for the ‘children
of Israel’ (symbolizing those who are growing spiritually) and not for the
mature in spirit (Israel means Princes of God / Sons of God). Statutes had
a purpose to give an understanding of why it was done, they were less for
historical learning but more for future understanding and those which were
considered necessary were connected to the Lord Jesus Christ.
There were 4 feasts which the Lord commanded as a statutes to be celebrated
eternally and they were the Feasts of Booths / Temple (Birth of Christ),
Passover (His death and resurrection), Pentecost / Harvest (His Spirit was
given to the whole Church and not a select few) and the Feast of Trumpets
(connected to His second coming). Three of this feasts have been fulfilled
and the last one is yet to be fulfilled. They were accurate to date / hour
and thus even His coming again date is known but the exact year is not, the
only way to know is to track prophecies in its time of fulfillment, that is
why when Jesus as man was asked He denied knowing the exact date (day and
year) yet answered by stating prophecies.
Most commentaries note Paul going to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover
but ignore the fact the importance to gather was only during the Feast of
Trumpets and the Feast of Pentecost; Passover was a family celebration not
requiring all to gather.
Let us not be deceived to celebrate pagan feasts which are whitewashed with
the name of Christ nor should we follow the rituals of the Jews, who did
not understand what they were called to do. Let us do all things with
understanding, fulfilling the purpose they are commanded of us by the Lord.

even these are my set feasts.
Leviticus 23:44 And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the set

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Faith does not come by just hearing
Romans 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of
God.
Yesterday’s message spoke about how the Holy Spirit reveals the Word. Today
the Lord gave us a verse which He revealed many years so as to share with
you as an example of how the Holy Spirit reveals the truth.
We read in many Bible translations today’s verse stated as ‘faith comes by
hearing and hearing the Word of God’. Most of the newer translations have
stated it as ‘faith comes by hearing and hearing by/through the Word of
God’. Only one translation I found was the Message which is on a ride of
its own, more like preaching that has no relation to the verse (something
most preachers do). Some Preachers advise to read the Word loud so that
what we speak goes into our ears for faith to grow!
Many years back when I read this verse my spirit was not agreeing to that
which was written since I came from a Catholic background and had exposure
to Charismatic ministry, I knew although people read scriptures and heard
it N number of times yet they had little faith. I also knew of people who
heard a scripture just once and exercised great faith.
One thing I knew the problem was not with the scripture and was with
something else so I inquired with the Lord (Holy Spirit) persistently for
the answer. It took some days until I got an answer and the answer was
something I got for some other queries ‘look closely’.
At that time I had not studied the Greek language so used to use the Strong
Vines and that did not help both the words had the same strong number, but
when I opened the interlinear Bible and saw the Greek text especially the
two hearings (akoe) written in Greek I noticed both were not exactly same
for the second hearing had some marking at it end which was missing in the
first. So then again I asked the Lord what was the difference and then the
Lord opened it to me which I confirmed with someone who knew Greek. The
second hearing was in active tense which the first was in passive tense.
The passive tense in Greek is defined as the action done by someone else
and not the subject, while in active tense the action is done by the
subject itself. The Lord further guided me that the true rendering in
English of the first word was ‘hearing’ while that of the second word
should have been ‘listening’. Hearing is when sounds are received through
our earing organs but listening is when it goes further and is processed by
our mind.
When we hear the Word of God nothing will happen or affect our faith, it is
only when we process the Word of God in our minds to understand it / chew
on it that our faith starts to grow. Faith mainly grows when we put what we
understood into action and that is why James emphasis faith without works
is false/fake faith.
Today the Lord is telling us are we hearing the Word of God or listening to
it. If we are people of little faith that we keep going to others for
prayers or sit for long hours praying simply requesting the Lord on one
thing, then we are people who just hear the Word of God thus need to start
to listen to the Word of God. Also let us not just read translations but
investigate every word, taking it to the Holy Spirit for any queries. Jesus
said even if our faith is small but without doubt (like a mustard seed
which has no air pocket like other seeds have) we will be able to move
mountains (do incredible / impossible things). God Himself said taste/test
and see for He is good.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You are True and your Word is True. You are
Perfect and your Word is Perfect. We pray Lord we introspect our faith and
understand why it is not growing. Help us Lord to not just read or hear
your Word but put it into action so that our faith grows...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
Luke 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets,
neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of
incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Mark 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure
ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be
given.
Matthew 17:20 And he saith unto them, Because of your little faith: for
verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye
shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall
remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Luke 17:5-6
5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye would
say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou rooted up, and be thou planted in the
sea; and it would obey you.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Taught by the Father
John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of
God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father,
cometh unto me.
In yesterday’s message we saw that only those who are rooted on the
unshakeable foundation of the Word of God which is Truth and glued by their
relationship with the Holy Spirit are the ones who overcome and inherit.
Today’s message emphasizes on the glue / cement which holds us to the Rock
of Truth. Most people think that whenever Jesus said Father it meant God
the Father in Heaven, but that is not the case. Jesus said in John 1:18 no
being has seen the Father other than the Son who came from Him.
Jesus the man was born by the power of the Holy Spirit so technically the
Holy Spirit also becomes His Father. In today’s message we read one such
case where He spoke of His Spirit (Spirit of the Son) as the Father. Note
Lord Jesus Himself as Lord is also called Father/Creator, so it is
important to specific whom we are referring to even though it is the same
being.
Without the Holy Spirit it is not possible to understand the Word of God.
The truth is revealed by the Holy Spirit and this can be direct or through
people whom He has revealed and hand down unto others.
Day before yesterday someone on Whatsapp group was debating on my message
and stated what I wrote was not right and when I asked him his source he
said it was a revelation given to someone!
The Holy Spirit reveals the understanding of the Word and that cannot
contradict the Word itself. Like I knew in my heart from long Judas
Iscariot (of Keriot prior name of Bethany) was the son of Simon the Leper
(by revelation of the Holy Spirit) but I was not very sure until yesterday
message I could trace the link and confirm it. So what the Holy Spirit
reveals He also proves it is via confirmation of scriptures, He will never
contradict scriptures. Anyone who claims a revelation and if it contradicts
any scripture then it is not from the Holy Spirit but from a human spirit
(his own spirit/understanding).
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God, One God and there is none other than You. You Lord have
manifested yourself to man Son who is part of You and Holy Spirit which is
His Spirit. As Son You humbled yourself and came as man to open the door
for us to receive your Spirit who reveals the Word and this gives us the
Fruit of Truth so that we can receive the Fruit of Righteousness from You.
It is only when we are restored that we get to enter Heaven and receive the
Fruit of Holiness so as to become one with You. We pray Lord we understand
the importance of study of your Word and at the same time build a
relationship with your Spirit who is the revealer of the Truth...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
The Baptism of John
Mark 11:30 The baptism of John, was [it] from heaven, or of men? answer me.
When we study the Bible we find no place wherein the Lord asked a person to
be immersed in water to be baptized in Him yet water baptism is become a
norm of Christianity since the Apostles did it and mainly because Jesus
Himself got water baptized by John the Baptist.
Let me take another norm which is tagged as Christian yet has nothing
Christian in it, that is sharing of finger rings at time of marriage. It is
called Christian but is a human tradition which came from various cultures
and got tagged to Christianity.
In OT we read during the times of Abraham family inheritance rights was
denoted by an idol/statue which was passed from father to son or given to
another. The holder of this idol/statue had the rights to the inheritance
of that family. We read about Rachael stealing this idol from her father
and running away with it, her father chased them thinking Jacob stole it.
This idol system was replaced with a staff and then by a shorter version
which is today called a scepter (used mainly by kings) and there on to a
ring with the family symbol/name on it. When a person (mainly sons) was
welcomed into the family a ring was put on his finger. So marriage started
with the families welcoming the daughter in law / son in law as a son into
their family. It was Christianity which started considering daughters equal
to sons and gave equal rights to inheritance. This over time that people
gave it a worldly commercial meaning and rings were projected as a symbol
of love. The same with heart which biblically symbolizes righteousness was
made to symbolize love (in the Bible it is the kidney that symbolizes love
since all human organs are made to understand spiritual things concerning
God).
Water baptism was one of the many types of baptisms initiated by John from
Maccabees and his men/followers who were later called Pharisees. Another
baptism that was almost famous was that of sand. In both water and sand the
person was not dipped/buried but kept immersed for a period and that caused
them to have a near life and death experience to invoke repentance (which
they really did not understand). John the Baptist made water baptism famous
with his preaching of repentance making the water baptism more effective,
and with the baptism of Jesus as a Jew it later became a part of Christian
statutes.
Baptism (Greek Baptizo) actually means transformation and not simply
immersing for it was a term used with dyeing of cloth wherein the cloth was
immersed in a liquid dye. Water baptism without transformation is just a
ritual and has no spiritual significance. We do the natural immersing more
for self and public declaration, the real baptism is not external but
internal.
Jesus himself got water baptized as a Jew to be accepted amongst them and
that is why it is written to fulfil righteousness, it was not a commandment
by God the Father. Jesus himself did not water baptize people nor is it
written anywhere His Apostles were water baptized, but they did baptize
people and Jesus did not stop or instruct them to do it.
Today’s question ‘if water baptism / baptism of John is from Heaven/God or
of men’ which Jesus put to the Pharisees, if put to Christians today may
not get a right answer for water baptism without transformation is not from
God but of men. People at times are immersed in water without them being
truly ready to give their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. It is for this
reason even after baptism we find some reverting to their old beliefs or
old way of life.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and Creator of all. You are Spirit and your Kingdom is not
a natural Kingdom but a Spirit Kingdom. You Lord look more at our inner
being than the external being. You desire an inner transformation more than
an external transformation. We pray Lord that your people understand
baptism and get truly baptized as they submit to water baptism...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

repentance for the remission of sins.
1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the

of none effect.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Deficiency from birth
John 9:20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son,
and that he was born blind:
We all know of this miracle where Jesus healed this man who was born blind
by applying clay (mud mixed with spit) and asking him to wash in the pool
named Siloam. Interestingly the meaning of this pool’s name is given in the
text itself and means ‘sent’.
This pool has great archeological value to Christian due to the historical
records it upholds. This pool is about 60feet by 20feet and is about 20
feet deep. It is intermittingly refilled by a subterranean channel springs
called "Fountain of the Virgin". This pool also has channels that take
water to the gardens below. In 1880 a young man swimming in this pool found
ancient Hebrew inscription on the inner side of this pool which are assumed
to be dated back to the times of Solomon or Hezekiah. The inscription
stated amongst other things the dimension of the pool as 1200cubits. Later
in 1889 they found a channel 20feet below it which is recorded in Isaiah
8:6. In 1891 efforts were made to destroy the inscription but was later
restored with help of the British consulate in Jerusalem.
Jesus who could heal people by simply commanding them to be heal or even by
touch had to put a paste of clay and get the person to be washed in this
historically important pool that held religious sentiments of the Jews.
Jesus did such things in places where unbelief / lack of faith was very
strong.
This miracle is also of great importance since it is misunderstood a lot.
When the disciples asked Jesus why this man was blind from birth and Jesus
told them it was neither because of his own sins nor the sins of his
immediate parents (specific sin). Now this scriptures is misinterpreted as
that neither he nor his parents (immediate and even before) were sinners.
If we go by the misinterpretation then it contradicts many other scriptures
and also the prime reason why the Lord humbled Himself and came as man that
is since no man was found righteous (sinless).
Scientifically we know sicknesses and medical deficiency is due to
interference of organisms or chemicals to / in our body which are
temporary/restricted to the person. But sickness also come due to genetic
deficiency which can be inherited by DNA issues and these deficiencies can
exist and skip generations before they manifests.
Biblically we read sickness started showing slowly in man after a
generation of man sinning. The grandson of Adam (name meaning reddish/full
of life) was named Enos (meaning mortal). Bible also states it was due to
sickness that man started knowing his distance from God and thus started
worshipping Him.
In the books of Moses God mentions the sin (nature) of man will be passed
for minimum 4 generations (it needed to be overcome to be stopped) and
blessings/curses to hundred(s) generations. When we study the Bible deeper
(Bible numeric / image study) we find the genetically and biological
structure of man is as per the design of the Word of God. When Jesus healed
a person and said ‘be whole’ we understand He spoke of restoration of the
image and thus assured the person like the thief on the cross about being
saved. Jesus Himself was the perfect form of the Word (Word that became
flesh).
We may be born in our mother’s womb but we existed in the loins of our
fathers for generations, thus we carry their blessings and curses. God
cannot be blamed for our sicknesses or deficiency and it is in fact due to
His mercy that we do not suffer our sickness. We cannot look at ourselves
individually because we come from a source like a seed from a plant but by
knowing God we can deal with the problems once for all (breaking of curses)..
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord have lifted your Word above You, thus
You yourself abide by your Word, like the Ark was kept in the Holy of
Holies while the Candlestick and Shew Bread symbolizing the Holy Spirit and
Yourself was kept in the Holy place. Lord may we understand the importance
of understanding your Word and abiding in it. You gave your Word for the
restoration of man. May we be renew by your Spirit and your Word...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall

God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and
truth,
7 Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and
sin, and that will by no means clear [the guilty]; visiting the iniquity of
the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the
third and to the fourth [generation

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Making imaginary doors to Heaven
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if
ye believe not that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.
Yesterday a sister was asking me about ‘Word of Faith’ and soon the
discussion went on to ‘Holiness Movement’, ‘Second grace’ etc... which are
doctrines promoted by many famous TV Preachers. If we study the Word of God
one finds these guys have twisted the meanings of a word or misinterpreted
scriptures to promote their ‘Prosperity’ / ‘Abundant Grace’/ ‘Once Saved
Always Saved’ Gospel which gives a free ticket to Heaven to everyone who
follows their teachings. They are doing the same thing which the Catholic
Church did in 15 century to make money, they sold ‘Get Free Passes from
Purgatory’ to all those who donated large sums of money to the Church and
this triggered the Reformation Movement.
In today’s message we find Jesus speaking to the Pharisees and He tells
them they will die in their sins. These people were Israelites who
‘worshipped Yehovah’ and Bible says the grace of God was on them. Now they
have all the 3 conditions that most Christians believe is required to go to
Heaven, yet Jesus tells them they will die in their sins. People may say
because they did not believe Jesus or accept who He was, then they need to
answer what happens to Moses, David, Abraham, Isaiah etc. the great
Patriarchs of the OT who did not meet Jesus the man, does that mean they
too do not go to Heaven? No, Bible says they will enter Heaven.
Even today most Christians are not clear of the requirements for one to be
sure to be saved. They may rattle scriptures and even answer the question
correctly but would do so without having the full understanding of how, why
and when we enter Heaven.
People think when Jesus said if a tree does not bear fruit it will be cut
down and thrown in the fire, they think Jesus spoke of fruit as in good
deeds (social service). They do not know the importance of Fruits of the
Holy Spirit and like I said before they even do not know how many of them
are there. Check the Sunday school books and it is given 9 since they count
what Paul wrote in Galatians 5:22-23 and ignore the 3 he mentions in
Ephesians 5:9.
Prosperity Gospel does not necessary focus on material prosperity, there is
another sinister face to it which is creating false imaginary doors to
Heaven which do not exist and thus destroy the lives of those who fall for
it. And who fall for it are the ones who do not want to change from inside,
they do not want to truly follow Christ.
Let us not follow people and their interpretation of scriptures but
investigate them ourselves and understand them with the help of the Holy
Spirit. Let us not be deceived to be punished by the hands of God on
Judgment Day but understand as Christians we need to truly follow Christ,
not just believe in Him.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are God. You created all things good and yet
You knowing all things allowed darkness to overtake part of it. You are
perfect and your plans are perfect for they make good into perfect like
unto You. We pray Lord your people are freed from the deception they live
in and truly follow You so as to receive your inheritance...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
John 8:13-16, 25-27
13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself;
thy record is not true.
14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself,
[yet] my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye
cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and
the Father that sent me.
25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even
[the same] that I said unto you from the beginning.
26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is
true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
Matthew 7:17-23
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree
bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree
bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast
into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in
heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in
thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many
wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.

John 8:13-16, 25-27
13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself;
thy record is not true.

Woe unto them that betray the Son of Man
Mark 14:21 The Son of man indeed goeth {departs}, as it is written of him:
but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for
that man if he had never been born.
People get taken back when I tell them ‘it is better not to be a Christian
then be one and not follow Christ / Word of God’. Another fact when I share
that startles people is ‘Believers may not go to Heaven but Disciples will’.
When we type the word ‘leader’ in Google we get 3,67,00,00,000 results and
when we type ‘follower’ we get 1,60,00,00,000 results. The world teaches us
to be obsesses with being a leader but we do not realize that as a
Christian we are called to be followers first. If we do not follow Christ
then how can we be considered a Christian? Thus the following comes first
before leading.
After 300AD when the Church went into wilderness (far from God) one of the
things they did was hide the existence of ‘Lake of Fire’ or ‘Lake of
Sulphur’, Christians are made to believe it is the same as Hell.
One of the points that need to be taught to a Christian as part of
foundational course is Judgment Day and we see none teach this, they
consider it as an advance topic in Bible study mainly since their exist a
lot of contradicting teachings on this in the Church. Even Pastors of
mainstream Churches are not clear of how many times Christ would come, it
comes as a shock to hear what they have in their heads. Sadly we cover only
2 points amongst the 6 elementary points recommended in Hebrews 6:1-2 as
foundation course.
Today’s scripture says it is better to not be born than to betray the ‘Son
of Man’. It does not talk of betraying the Lord but betraying the humbled
God the Son, indirectly it speaks of those who know Him and His sacrifice
yet betray Him.
People are not aware of why the Lake of Fire where the goats will go after
Judgment Day is also called the Lake of Sulphur, if they know that then
they will be sheep and not goats.
Surely it is a great privilege and boon to know Christ but it is worse to
know Him and not follow Him. Let us understand this danger and like today’s
scripture says it is better to not be born then to know Christ and betray
Him.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God yet You are Merciful God. Being Righteous your
mercy/grace can not be taken for granted. You humbled yourself and came as
man to open the gates of Heaven for us. The price You paid cannot be mocked
by our betrayal. Lord we pray we do not find ourselves amongst the goats on
Judgment Day...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
Hebrew 6:1-6
1 Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to
maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and
of faith toward God,
2 and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the
resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
3 And this we will do if God permits.
4 For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once
been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the
Holy Spirit,
5 and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the
age to come,
6 if they then fall away, since they are crucifying once again the Son of
God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.
Hebrew 10:26-29
26 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of
the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
27 but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will
consume the adversaries.
28 Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the
evidence of two or three witnesses.
29 How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one
who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant
by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?
Revelation 20:14-15
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second
death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into
the lake of fire.
Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet
that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had
received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These
both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone {Sulphur}.
Revelation 21:7-8
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and
he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and
whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their
part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second
death.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Are You Foolish, Disobedient and Deceived?
Titus 3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient,
deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy,
hateful, [and] hating {comparing} one another.
Today’s message is from the letter written by Paul to Titus and has Paul
describing a person who
Lives serving various lusts and pleasures,
Living in malice and envy,
Hatefulness,
Comparing one person to another.
As foolish, disobedient and under deceit.
If we introspect our lives and ask ourselves
Are the pleasures of this world important to us? Can I do without these
worldly things or services of this world, or lifestyle?
Do I think of hurting people if not physically by action, at least
emotionally by my harsh word?
Do I desire to remove people out of my live, harm their existence in
society or their relationship with others?
Do I hate people so much that I cannot forgive them? Even though I may have
told them I forgive them but my thoughts keep reminding me of the injustice
or hurts they did towards me.
Do I go about comparing a person to another, not acknowledging the
uniqueness of that person?
If we are doing any of these then the Lord says we have some level of
foolishness, disobedience and deception in us. We as Christians are ‘work
in process’ and we need to improve daily to be like Christ.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are Holy, Perfect in every way and no
darkness exist in You. Lord You have call us to be perfect like You are, so
help us Lord to be aware of those areas of foolishness, disobedience and
deception, help us through your Spirit to overcome these areas so that we
become more and more Israel – Sons of God...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Romans 3:9-18

11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become

13 Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used
deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips:
14 Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet [are] swift to shed blood:

Worshiping God through the flesh
Luke 7: 34, 35 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say,
Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and
sinners! But wisdom is justified of all her children.
If one looks at all man made religions which are simply human traditions
and worldly wisdom, one finds food and restraining of lustful desires a key
aspect of their relationship with their god / gods / universal spiritual
power.
Let me take an example. In Yoga people use the term ‘meditation’ and think
it is a mind control exercise by focusing on a specific aspect but actually
as per requirement the person needs to do breathing exercise (reduce
oxygen/air intake) and are asked to switch off one’s mind (empty one’s
mind/stop thinking/play brain dead). People think there is divine wisdom
behind it but if one understand the wisdom of those who initiated this one
would fall laughing. Then, they thought the moon (symbolism) dwells in the
head and the sun in the belly. The moon gives life giving nectar
(Kundalini) which is consumed by the sun, so by holding ones breath one can
reduce the consumption of this nectar and thus live longer!
Our body is designed by God and needs certain things to keep it alive, by
depriving it of any of its essential needs has repercussions not only to
the body but also to the inner-man. By depriving the body of oxygen over
long periods will not improve but only harm the body and that is why deep
sea divers suffer from lower life expectancy. Over doing or under doing the
essential needs of the body, both are harmful to our body and spirit being.
Fasting according to the Bible is to deprive oneself of carnal desires
which have the power to take the person away from God. It does not need to
be bad (thing or habit) but even good things taken in wrong proportions
would have such a result. Daniel’s fast is an example of fasting where he
ate simple bread amongst the world’s grandest buffets and such a fast
caused the Angel of the Lord to appear unto him. Daniel and those with him
did not do this only for a short period but did it continually while they
were in Babylon.
Depriving oneself of food can be ones first step (baby steps) towards
fasting, but doing this over a long period can affect one’s spirit being.
Bible says the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness for forty days to
fast without consuming food or water so that He could be tempted by the
devil. Had Jesus not fasted then Satan would not have dared to tempt Him,
but since He was weakened by the fasting on the fortieth day Satan tried to
tempt Him. This tempting was necessary so that Jesus as man could overcome
the temptations Adam and Eve were put through, the forty days fasting was
also necessary for Jesus to be accepted as a Jewish Rabbi according to the
School of Moses and get the privilege to preach in Jewish synagogues, the
other option was according to the School of Samuel that is be an apprentice
under another Rabbi for a long period (Paul Saul was doing that before his
encounter with the Lord).
In today’s message Jesus did not fast like the Jews but did eat and drink
(normal food quantity and drank grape juice) and continued ministering the
sinners so the Jews exaggerated things and called a gluttonous man, a
winebibber and at the same time a friend of publicans and sinners.
A Christian is a solider of the Lord and even though he overcomes darkness
yet he does not battle darkness but overcomes with the light in him. We are
not called to battle evil by fighting against it but by goodness. We are
called to show the path of truth and light so that evil does not get fed
and thus dies.
Let us not make Christianity like other religions by human rituals,
traditions and worldly wisdom which is foolishness according to God. Let us
understand everything and do all things according to the wisdom of God.
[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God. Your Kingdom is not of this world for your Kingdom is
Spirit. The flesh cannot be fought in the flesh for iron does not sharpen
iron but only makes lots of noise. Only the spirit can control the flesh so
let us be led by your Spirit that we may overcome our flesh. Help us
overcome darkness with light, let us overcome evil with good...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Matthew 4:1-3
1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of
the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an
hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God,
command that these stones be made bread.
Daniel 10:3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my
mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were
fulfilled.
Daniel 1:8 -20
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your
good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith
Believing fables
2 Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and
shall be turned unto fables.
Today’s message talks of people believing not the truth but fables. When we
think of believing fables we think this pertains to only pagan beliefs and
not to Christianity.
The Greek word fable comes from the root word ‘mysteries’ or ‘hidden
things’.
Yesterday I was talking to some Catholics who were confident of going to
Heaven. I asked what gave them the confidence and they said it is because
they believed in Jesus Christ and they did what He Commanded. When I asked
what is that He Commanded and they said to carry His cross daily. I was
taken back so at their answer (mind you I was talking to teenagers) so I
asked what they understood by the term cross and they said suffering, pain
and persecution!
Amongst Christians also we have fables believing stories made by man due to
our ignorance of scriptures. The Greek word for ‘cross’ comes from the root
word ‘cause’ and thus when Jesus said ‘take up your cross and follow me’,
it did not mean suffering due to sickness, pain in relationships caused due
to misunderstandings or hurts due to our ego etc. He said daily taking the
mission He gave us which is to reach out to the lost, teaching them the
Word and making them disciples for Christ so as to do what we do and what
Christ did.
If one scrutinizes every area of our so called Church beliefs and
traditions, one will find lots and lots of fables. One wonders how did
these come into the Christian belief system and who would think of doing
such a think?
Today’s message Paul warned Timothy long back about people not enduring the
truth so they would add fables. Paul was not talking of non-Christians to
Timothy but of Christians. Paul was not talking of end days but about the
near future.
Since 300AD we had a tsunami of fables ignited under ‘Christian’ banner and
many of them found their way into the main stream ‘Christian’ belief
system. Even after the ‘Reformation’ movement still a large amount of
fables still continues. So like Paul advised Timothy, let us harken to the
advice, let us test every belief even if we are afflicted for it and all
what we preach let us give a proof of it both scripturally and life example..

Lord desire man also to be holy, righteous and filled with the truth. It is
only when we are in You and You in us that we will know the truth, received
righteousness and holiness. We pray Lord we test everything that we believe
especially those which in your name and not in your Word. Help us to
cleanse all that is not of You...
This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
