In the days of His Flesh
Hebrews 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
If one reads Hebrews chp 3-7 one sees Paul (supposedly) touching on the divinity of Jesus Christ in various aspects. In Chapters 6 and 7 he compares Christ with Melchisedec who was king of earthly Salem (meaning Peace - former Jerusalem).
Believers lack understanding of these chapters therefore are unable to counter Catholics and other similar ‘Christian’ sects who glorify Mary the mother of Jesus as a divine being (without corruption). Believers think Melchisedec was born ‘without father and mother’ and we hear many foolish Preachers preaching various theories on this man Melchisedec. If that was the case then Christ need not have come, he being born without corruption could have become the savior of the world.
This misunderstanding is all because the printer who numbered these verses and segregated them into chapters broke the flow of the topic of chapters 6 and 7.
If one reads the end of chapter 6:20 it speaks of Christ and then in 7 it speaks of Christ being ‘King of Peace’ in Hebrew Melchisedec. It is Christ who when born in the flesh was without father and without mother, and not of Melchisedec.
We know Jesus was born of a virgin without a human father simply because He had to born without blemish, not inheriting the corruption of any human (no human was without corruption) and this corruption as per the Law of God is passed only from the father to the child (up to minimum 4 generations – provided no one sins) and not mother to child even though the child is born in the womb of the mother. The mother’s corruption gets passed to the child via the father (they spiritually become one during intercourse) and not directly to the child.
There are some arguments that the egg of Mary was fertilized by the Holy Spirit, such a theory would technically become a ‘rape’ case and that is not what the Bible says. Throughout the NT Mary is called the mother of Jesus but in two places it clearly also denies Mary as the mother of Jesus. Once at Cana when Jesus directly in anger asks Mary what has He to do with her, in other words what relationship does He have with her? The second time is in Hebrews 7 where Paul says Christ was born without father and without mother.
Both relationships of Jesus with Mary that is of her being His mother and of her not being His mother are true. You may wonder how?
Before it would have not been possible to explain this relationship but today since we have advanced in understanding birth technics we can. In today’s scientific terminology it is called a surrogate birth. So Mary is Jesus’ surrogate mother and not His biological mother.
Jesus is called the second/last Adam since He was made human directly, but unlike the first Adam who was made directly into a man Jesus was made into a fetus in the womb of a woman (which also confirms the fact that a fetus/fertilized egg from first day is considered a human since Jesus was born exactly after 9 months).
Today’s scripture points to Jesus as human (in flesh) did not break any natural law of God thus was born exactly and fully human. Being God and becoming human did not deny His divine spiritual existence but as human in the flesh He was fully human. Saying He as human in the flesh was also divine, would deny His humbling of Himself and that of Him breaking His own natural laws. John goes on to say anyone who denies that Christ did not come in the flesh that is fully human, is not of God but an antichrist as it denies God salvation to mankind.

Lord You are Almighty God. You created all things in the spirit in the beginning and by your natural laws all things come to existence day by day. Even when You humbled and became human, You did not break any natural law of yours but keeping within it. You also became human without inheriting the corruption of the first Adam. The axe is laid unto the root of the trees
Matthew 3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees:
therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and
cast into the fire.
Today’s message talks of the axe being laid to the root of the trees. Who
are the trees?
In Isaiah 40:6-7 the Word of God says all mankind are like grass and the
good they do is like flowers of these category plants (grass) which look
good and fade away not bearing fruit. When the time comes the grass is cut
and it withers away.
Isaiah 37:27 goes on to state there are 3 categories of grasses those of
the field, those like shrubs and those that grow on rooftops. The
difference between a normal grass and shrub is that normal grass has one
stub while shrubs has many, even though the shrub is one yet it looks many.
Psalms 92:7 talks of the wicked like shrubs that flourish. Psalms 129:4-7
on the other hand says those who come against the people of God are like
grass on rooftops which are cut or are consumed even before they see their
age. It is these rooftop grass that Jesus spoke of being burnt.
Those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ are like trees and not grass.
Note the axe (of Judgment) is not placed to root of the grass but placed on
the root of the trees. It says those trees that do not bear fruit will be
cut and cast into the fire, but the fruit bearing trees will not be harmed.
In Revelation 9:4 the period of anguish between Rapture and Judgment Day,
it says the grass is spared and so also the fruit bearing trees but those
trees which do not bear fruit will see suffering. Jesus warned either be
warm or be cold but those who are lukewarm will be spit out.
Today in the ‘holy week’ we stand between the death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ. The Lord is telling us as we know of His resurrection
tomorrow let us also acknowledge His Judgment. He who has died and
resurrected thus qualified to sit on the Judgment Seat will judge the
trees. Let us not be those trees that do not bear fruit for they will face
more suffering that the grass.

Lord You are God Almighty. You Lord sacrificed much for the salvation of
mankind. The suffering that we see through your crucifixion is not even a
fraction of the suffering You went through for mankind. Bible says You
became a sacrifice from the foundation of creation and died for us while we

Doing His Will

Hebrews 10: 9, 10  Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once [for all].

Ever since I have been receiving messages to speak up against the vanity people are doing in the name of Christ, I have been getting many justifications like ‘why should not celebrate the birth of Christ’, ‘for me Christ is eternal so I celebrate Him 365 days in a year’, ‘doing good and sharing the Gospel during this time is good’, ‘it is an opportunity which we should not lose to share Christ unto the lost’… they all sound very good, but are excuses for the things they actually / also desire to do, please the flesh.

To tell you in Mumbai the past 10 years I had been part in organizing large rallies across the city like having grand trucks with worship being conducted (not Christmas floats but actual worship) and with hundreds following distributing tracks and even Bibles, I was also involved in conducting the first ‘Prayer Walk’ which covered almost 25-30kms both during ‘ChristMass’ and Resurrection Sundays (because we would get police permission easily during this time. The kind of harvest I have seen on one Resurrection Sunday I have not seen even putting all ‘ChristMass’ events put together. Frankly I have to yet come across 1 soul who has turned to the Lord during ChristMass. During Resurrection Sunday even against the worse opposition we managed to conduct an event at/starting at the Gateway of India and that one single day saw about 100+ souls come to Christ, people getting delivered and healed publicly on the road unlike seen before (search ‘Aman ki Raah Mumbai’ on YouTube).

Today’s scripture says ‘He taketh away the first’ that ‘He may establish the second’, and it is the second that is unified in His Body. People assume it to be the Law, they do not realize the Law of God never changed in sense of replaced, Covenant was improved by various amendments unto its perfection in Christ (7 people from Noah to Jesus Christ). Today’s scripture talks of change in us, from Adam to Christ who is called the ‘Second/Later Adam’ also translated as ‘Last Adam’. In Adam we were made in flesh and in Christ we are remade in spirit to become like the Angels.

Let us get it into us, we cannot please God nor be fruitful if we walk according to the flesh. God is the Lord of harvest, how much so ever we may sow and labor, unless we do not do it according to His Will then we will only reap weed.

Let us abide in His Will in spirit and truth and we will truly see a great harvest.

Lord You are Almighty God. You are Truth and Light, there is no darkness in You. Lord we pray we get it into us we cannot approach You unless we walk in light and truth of your Word. We pray we do not reap weed but a fruitful harvest in You...

Ignorance cannot continue to be an excuse

1 Corinthians 10: 28  But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth [is] the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof:

Today’s scripture does not talk of food being unclean but if that food is offered to an idol then we are called not to eat of it for by eating it we are honoring the idol, thus for the sake of the one who informed us about it being offered to an idol we should not eat it so show we honor only one God.

Food offered to an idol if eaten makes us partakers of the idol, unbelievers consider it a blessing but we as Christians know we receive only the wrath of God since idolatry is like spiritual fornication/adultery, those who did it are called spiritual ‘prostitutes’ in the OT.

Let us take the case of polygamy, in OT we have the Lord giving specific warnings to not have many wives via Moses in Deuteronomy yet we see even Men of God like David and Solomon did not heed to it and thus faced problems but then the Lord tolerated them since they had no clear understanding of the Word for truth was revealed only through Christ. Marriage a spiritual relationship which is an earthly statutes to understand Christ’s (Elohim - plural) relationship with us (plural) and ultimately God’s (Eloha - singular) relationship with man (one body – Heavenly Temple).

Coming to the purpose of God giving us this scripture today. Most ‘Christians’ who celebrate pagan feasts, even if they carry Christian names does not make them Christian. ‘Christ Mass’ is a Catholic High Mass that has nothing to do with the birth of Christ and people are out to find Christ in this nonsense with the excuse that Christ’s birthdate is not given in the Bible.

Our ignorance is no excuse, all that is necessary to know about Christ and even our own salvation is already given in the Bible. The birth of Jesus Christ is a very important event and God Himself knows that. He commanded not just one day celebration but a weeklong celebration that is the Feast of Tabernacle / Tents / Booths. The conception of the birth is celebrated as Feast of Lights (this year was on 10th Dec), Feast of Tabernacle falls exactly 40 weeks from Feast of Lights. His dedication in the Temple is also celebrated as Feast of Dedication which is the 8th day of Feast of Tabernacle.

Do not make Christ an excuse for our spiritual fornication, it will only attract greater wrath of God.

Nothing important is left out

2 Thessalonians 2:5  Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

In today’s scripture we see a person like Paul who was anointed and led by the Holy Spirit saying, that which was important I have already covered with you while I was with you. When Jesus Christ was man amongst us, He also made sure to not miss anything that was important while teaching His disciples. It was another think they did not see or understand that which was told to them.

The Word of God is authored by the Holy Spirit and not by man, although it is through man we have received the Word. When one questions the completion of the Word then one questions the authenticity of the Word, we question the author. In Revelations which is the last book of the Bible the book ends with anyone who adds to this book (Bible not just the book of Revelation) or subtracts from it will be punished severely.

People think they do not any adding or subtracting but in reality almost all are into it. Everyone knows the importance of Jesus Christ as our Savior. Ask anyone why such an important event like birth of Jesus Christ is not given in the Bible and they have no question. They indirectly think God has erred as a man and missed in recording a very important event. It is not just God but even the anointing of Men of God who were instrument in delivering the Word is questioned due to this failure.

As it is said a lot in proverbs a fool who is ignorant of knowledge thinks he is right, although his think subsets him, does not bring fruit but only problems yet like a dog who will keep gulping the same again and again until the inside of him is not affected by the wrong.

Fools open your eyes it is God who is the author of the Bible and everything about Christ that is important for us to know including His Word is given in the Bible. Like His crucifixion, His resurrection, the giving of His Spirit to the Church is given so also is His birth and His coming again is given (the hour is given not the day, that is why Jesus also said to be watchful of the day / prophecies).

Do not follow another fool and blame him for your foolishness. Open your eyes, study the Word and understand it.

For the sake of the Elect

2 Timothy 2:11  [It is] a faithful saying: For if we be dead with [him], we shall also live with [him]:

As I was going through today’s scripture I found the word ‘Him’ added in translations and not part of the scripture. At face value the translations do not seem wrong but then I just felt to look up if it was perfect, as I looked up I found something interesting.

Not going too much into the whole chapter or background of the letter I will take the 4 connecting verses to prove my point.

10  Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11  [It is] a faithful saying: For if we be dead with [him], we shall also live with [him]:
12  If we suffer, we shall also reign with [him]: if we deny [him], he also will deny us:
13  If we believe not, [yet] he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

The context starts with Paul asking Timothy and those ministered by Timothy to be like him suffer for the sake of God’s people, for their reconciliation with the Lord; thus he starts with the words ‘for the elect’s sake’. Therefore we need to replace the word ‘Him’ with ‘them’ referring to the Lord’s elect..

10  Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11  [It is] a faithful saying: For if we be dead with [them], we shall also live with [them]:
12  If we suffer, we shall also reign with [them]: if we deny [them], he also will deny us:
13  If we believe not, [yet] he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

You may feel that is an option, but when we look into the grammar of the words it confirms the usage of the word ‘them’ instead of ‘Him’.
v11 - the verb dead (die) – is aorist tense (eternal), the verb live is future tense
v12 - the verb suffer – is present tense, the verb reign – is future tense (Lord always reigns, but we will reign), deny is future tense (those who deny the will of the Lord, the Lord will deny them)
v13 – the verb believe – is present tense, the verb abide – is present tense, the verb deny is aorist tense

Time and again the Lord has been speak to us to not think of salvation as an individual sense. We are saved from Hell on our individual decision / belief, but our going to Heaven is a collective efforts. The invitation to Heaven is to the bride as a body, thus we need to think as a body, work as a body, holding each other and carrying each other.

Sunday’s day of Giving

1 Corinthians 15: 2  Upon the first [day] of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as [God] hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

We find many debate on the Sabbath for they do not understand its purpose, if one thinks in the natural then there are many points which make the topic so complicated that the Jews had a book thrice the size of the Torah with regards the Sabbath.

From the Jews to Christian the Law transited from the natural to the spiritual, so Sabbath (day of rest) was not a day for the week but every day was a day of resting in the Lord even though we labor in the natural.

Resting in Lord is trusting in Him (Holy Spirit symbolized by number 7) thus taking a holiday but not trusting God for provision would be of no purpose.

The Apostles did not have a specific day for worship since they daily gathered to worship if they were not travelling. Prayer and worship were secondary importance for knowing God and building each other in Him was primary purpose of their meeting. Since we do not know God thus we have more needs and problems, thus we land up praying more.

Sunday which is the first day of the week was a must for gathering not for praying or worshiping but for giving unto the Lord since they worked on daily wages or max weekly. What is interesting in even though Sundays were days of labor in Jewish culture yet Christians took the initiatives to meet on that day. In the OT Sundays were days of Peace Offering where the lamb was held up by its limbs / sacrifice was waved as peace offering between God and man.

Let us not be Sunday to Sunday Christians. Let us not get lost in the world for the week then put on a Christian attire on Sundays. Let every day be a day of relationship with God and opportunity to grow in Him, to know Him more. The more we know Him the less we will be praying for needs or problems.

Finished works of the cross

Titus 3:15  All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace [be] with you all. Amen.

Just before I received today’s message a sister in one of the FB groups was discussing on the finished works of Christ on the cross.

If we examine today’s scripture closely, Paul on behalf of his team is greeting those in the faith (those ministered by Titus) with grace. When we look at the grammar of the Greek text although the greeting is in Aorist (eternal - past, present and future put together), Middle Deponent, Imperative yet the tense of ‘love us in the faith’ is in Present, Active, Participle tense.

Grace comes to us via faith so to remain under grace we need to remain in faith. If we are strong in faith then grace takes care of everything, but the reality is we are like Peter who even after walking on water still are shaken time and again.

Faith is like a plant that grows from the seed of faith thus like a plant it too needs protection and watering regularly else it will wither and die. Works of faith help us nurture our faith, strengthen it and it is the Holy Spirit who helps us in that job.

We need to acknowledge Christ gave us His Spirit after His death on the cross. Christ said His Spirit is our ‘Helper’ and if all is finished on the cross then would there be a purpose of a helper?

Yes Christ by His death and resurrection finished the work of removing us from paying the penalty for our sins (curse of Hell) and also made peace between God and man so that we receive His Spirit, all this provided we keep believing in Him as Christ, in His death and resurrection.

Jesus Christ said He is the Way and His Spirit (Holy Spirit) is our Helper who helps us on the Way. The Way leads us to internal transformation, of us becoming Sons of God (inheritors of His Kingdom).

Let us not be foolish to ignore the importance of the Holy Spirit in our journey to inheriting Kingdom of God. Our foolishness will cause the undoing of ‘the finished works on the cross’.

To preach and not to preach

2 Corinthians 2: 13  I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.

In today’s scripture we read of Paul getting restless in spirit for he was seeing ‘open doors’ in Troas a place northeast of Asia Minor. Paul as an Apostle did the basic ground work and wanted an Evangelist like Titus to take things further. What is interesting at another time is in the same area of Asia Minor Paul was with an Evangelist Timothy and the Holy Spirit then too forbid them to preach there. This is the same area where the 7 Churches are located whose names are mentioned in Revelation, they all were well to do financially and were also full of religious activities.

In Bible study an Apostle level of study is foundational, it notches up to the level of Evangelist and then to a level of Teacher. Those who have the Calling of Teacher like myself will not be found going places to places preaching in public, they preach to those who minister to others. Paul had many Teachers with him in his team, they escorted the team and guided them in understanding of scripture but they themselves did not preach much to the public.

The things that I share through these daily devotions are basics and include very little solid food but are not in any way real solid food which I normally teach as a Teacher. Since the pandemic I have been able to start Zoom sessions taking up series of deeper study on various topics. Although I interact with thousands yet I managed to find just a handful who are passionate to know more about God’s Word and His Kingdom. Most people talk about God and show passion towards Him as long as He does not step into their own private social/worldly lives.

Many preacher do social ‘ministry’ and also give it the name ‘fellowship’. They have worship sessions and prayer session which keep people busy in religious activity but do not bring about change in their spiritual lives. Check the people around you in Church, for years and years they are the same, no spiritual growth, but are satisfied as far as they are naturally healthy and wealthy. It is only when their health and their wealth is touched that they get rattled and desperate towards God.

God said feed the hungry but did not say feed the full. If one tries to feed the full they will insult the food, for they will soon or later they vomit it out. Lord does not bring His ministers unless the people hunger and brings ministers as per their hunger. Ask yourself we have many Evangelists today amongst us but how many Teachers are there?

People’s hunger for God’s Kingdom and for God is known by the kind of ministers He brings amongst His people.

Lord You are Almighty God. Your Word says those who shout Lord, Lord and also do miracles in your Name are rejected by You if they do not abide by your Will. Lord we pray we seek more and more of your Kingdom so that we abide by your Will. The Israelites who knew You, were called your people and whose lives revolved around You yet rejected You and thus inheritance has been offered to others, we pray we do not behave like them and lose our inheritance too....

The Sacrifice was done

1 Peter 2: 24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Those who minister must have used this scripture by Peter N number of times for healing and have seen miracles happen, but very few know from where Peter got this scripture. This scripture is not a prophecy by the Lord to Peter but was a revelation therefore has a source in the OT.

Jesus said all about Him (His mission) was written in the books of Moses, Psalms and Prophets. So for us to know Him and His mission fully, we need to understand the OT.

The books of Moses have many sacrifices and it may surprise people that Jesus performed most of them through the Passover week and the week later, even after His resurrected (Unleavened week).

Today’s scripture talks of the sacrifice made for healing in the book of Moses when a person who had leprosy or any sickness (plague) after the person/family was healed. The priest would confirm the healing and then the person/s had to offer a sacrifice of two birds. Of these two birds one was killed in an earthen vessel. The second bird, cedar wood and hyssop was dipped in the blood with running water, the same was sprinkled on the healed person / house (symbolizing family). The second bird was then set free.

Peter had realized this sacrifice was fulfilled in Jesus on the crucifix.

There were 2 birds with one killed second set free, blood, water, cedar wood, hyssop and dark earthen vessel. One may wonder where all these things were during Jesus’ crucifixion.

The two birds were Jesus and Barabbas. The word Barabbas means ‘son of the father’ and Jesus was the Son of the Father. One was killed the other set free.

Romans normally crucified people on stone / concrete like crucifixes which were a permanent structures outside any large city. They followed the harsh punishment methods of the Assyrians to set fear amongst those whom they ruled. But on that day since all the crucifixes were taken and the Jewish leaders insisted on crucifying Jesus, they had to arrange a temporary one made of wood and thus was carried to the location. The wooden crucifix had to be of cedar (teak) wood for this sacrifice to be complete and God did like He provided many other things for the numerous other sacrifices that were also done during that time. Jesus had to be nailed to confirm He was Yahweh (One who was nailed by His hands – YHWH means Behold Hands Behold Nails).

Water was provided when the soldiers pierced Him in His side. Medically it was not possible for a person kept without food or water for almost 5 days to drip water that too from the sides, far from the stomach or the intestines.

Also during His death which was at 3pm there was an earthquake and the whole place darkened like night, more than during an eclipse. This darkening was not limited to this area for I read of a mention in Chinese manuscripts of short cover of darkness during this time. The whole earth experienced darkness as if put inside a vessel.

When we realized what all was done by the Lord for our healing then how can we not be healed?

The problem is all other things were provided but for the hyssop. Hyssop a flexible but very strong plant symbolizing faith and that hyssop is something which we need to provide to complete the sacrifice and thus receive the healing.

In today’s scripture Peter does not say we will be healed nor says we may be healed, he uses the word we are (already) healed so that we bring in the hyssop and receive the healing.

Sabbath of the Jews – Rosary of the Catholics

Acts 16: 13  And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted [thither]

You may wonder at the title of today’s devotion. What has Sabbath which the Lord commanded to keep to do with Rosary a chain of beads imported from pagan rituals and used by Catholics?

Jews are religious people and very passionate of God, their whole life revolves around religion, rituals, traditions etc. but they are in reality very far from Him and do not know Him, to the extend Jesus called them children of Satan and people who would be punished not in Hell but in the Lake of Fire meant for the fallen angels.

The Catholics are passionate of prayer which they have been given to repeat on an arrangement of beads which they call Rosary. At no time do Catholics reflect on the words which they speak, if they are inline to scriptures or not, and if they are truly worshipping God or mocking Him with their vain words. They do not know the object they think helps them pray, is actually a killer of faith and without faith prayers are hollow words.

I too used to be a passionate Catholic doing what other religious Catholics do, attending mass almost daily and reciting the Rosary daily, until one day I had an encounter with God and while reciting my Rosary the Lord asked to reflect on my words. I then started searching through scriptures to check them up and then I realized what I was fooled into. I was sitting to worship God through a woman I thought was the mother of Jesus and instead sat and mocked Him because I did not know His Word and could not discern spirits.

Let us not try to make our ignorance an excuse for our foolishness. When we are new in the Lord we are excused but when we keep continuing in our foolishness then there remains no excuse for it.

Kings and those in authority

1 Timothy 2: 2  For kings, and [for] all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

In the initial days when I would take the English translation literally I used to think the term king was referring to actual kings, those who were monarchs and rulers over kingdoms and nations. Later I wondered why Paul would write letters regarding them to Christian Churches and people like Timothy as in today’s verse!

In a Church the term king refers to a person who holds a title position of authority. The Apostolic Church was very organized and not like the Nicolaitan system that is followed today by all Churches both Catholic and even Believers Churches. i.e. in the Apostolic Church the Bishop was the financial accountant of the Church and reported to the Church Administrator (Pastor as called today) but we see in the Nicolaitan system the Bishop is the boss of the Pastor and hierarchy is turned topsy-turvy..

Church authority is different from spiritual authority. Church authority is concerning the functioning of the Body of Christ – the Church. Spiritual authority is one’s identity in Christ.

We all when created were given dominance over this creation and thus were kings / princes over this creation. Sin corrupted us and we lost this dominance and creation became our enemy. Today we talk of global warming and natural disasters. People including scientists are amazed at the speed at which nature is transforming in these few years but in the Bible all this with its timing is already written. Also written is how long it will last and how many will die by it. Whatsoever they do to slow it the consequence will not change.

We will not be able to change that what is written but we have the opportunity to change it consequence in our personal lives. These disasters will happen and we will not be able to control them but we will be able to control the fact like if we will be annihilated or even disturbed by them.

Let us know our authority and purpose in Christ also in the Body of Christ according to what He has set and not what we have muddled up.

Instructions Through Lord Jesus

1 Thessalonians 4: 2  For ye know what commandments {instructions} we gave you by {through} the Lord Jesus.

We read in chapter 4 of first letter to the Thessalonians Paul and his team instruct the people of Thessalonica with regards to living a life of good Christian character.

Firstly we need to note the people of Thessalonica were more mature than people of other churches to whom Paul and his team wrote (Church of Berea, they did not need to write). Both the letters talk more of things like the second coming of the Lord / Judgment Day / Rapture but yet these people still had issues with simple things like fornication, adultery, dishonest business (work) etc...

As I came to know more about scriptures I started feeling more confident about my walk in Christ but then the testimony of one character from OT shock me caused me to walk in fear of the Lord. King Solomon who is most known for his wisdom and understanding of the Kingdom of God (Songs of Solomon is not written to a wife/lover but symbolism of relationship between, God, His Christ and man and is profound) yet this man did the most foolish things of not just worshiping pagan gods/goddesses but even building temples for them. In the NT we find the Sadducees too were knowledgeable people but yet the most foolish lot; their understanding of Heaven, Angels, life after death etc. were all self-contradictory.

The Word of God and the Spirit of God both are essential for the walk of a Christian. If one inclines to only study of scriptures then all the knowledge will not help but cause more problems, also if one tends to be more charismatic without having knowledge of scriptures then most of them land up being controlled by evil spirits and not the Holy Spirit for they lack discernment.

Let us be strong in the Lord and walk in both His Word and Spirit. We need to increase our understanding of the Word and at the same time better our relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord made us to be a body and not as independent beings. You know without the help of your Spirit man cannot be saved and without knowing your Word man cannot have relationship with your Spirit. You came as man and gave us truth and grace and above all your Spirit. We pray Lord we diligently seek growth in your Word and your Spirit...

Fellowship

1 John 1: 3  That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship [is] with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

We see many Churches encourage fellowship amongst its congregation and thus have social meetings and activities where people get to know each other and connect with each other on a social level.

Truth is in the name of fellowship many ‘Christians’ have become victims of the worldly system and of vanity.

We are called to connect and know each other but the fellowship we have as Christians should have is not the fellowship as understood and followed by the world. The Greek word translated as fellowship is the word ‘koinonia’ and comes from ‘koinos’ which means common.

Having fellowship means to come to a common basis, and in today’s message we see John on behalf of the Apostles is stating their teachings and their work was the basis of fellowship. Fellowship was key factor in the Apostolic Church and followed study of scriptures, it preceded things like breaking of bread and even prayers.

We Christians are primarily called to have fellowship with others with regards to things of the Kingdom of God. Social fellowship is not taboo to us but is not the fellowship we should be seeking. As we grow spiritually there remains little to socialize on, it is only those spiritually growing or spiritually little that continue doing it.

Let us look at what kind of fellowship we are seeking with those called to be part of the Body of Christ.

The things of this world do not go along with the things of your Kingdom therefore those who love this world hate your Kingdom and those of your Kingdom can not love the things of this world. Open your eyes to these people

1 Timothy 1: 9,10 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

Amongst unbelievers one sees very good social bonding since for many they know inside their god does not respond even though they do lots and lots of rituals. The rituals have become means for social bonding for they have to look out for each other.

When it comes to Believers the story is very different. ‘Grace’ is the most abused word. It is true Satan works more inside the Church than outside. People use each other till their purpose is achieved and people are discarded like used tissue. The diplomatic ones take the game to long periods to fool even the best. Any Believer (including Pastors / Preachers) who lies and continues in it, be it direct lie or white lie like over aggregating an event while preaching, give an appointment time and again and do not keep it; over it do not bother to contact to give reason or apologize, who do not correct another brethren so as to keep good relationships... all such people should be discerned.

Out of my own experience of being a Believer for almost 16 years and something which today’s scripture reiterates is only those who are Word rooted (not just Bible reading or parroting) but those who truly study scriptures (one cannot understand scriptures unless one makes attempt to follow it) with all their hearts are people whom you can rely on.

The Living Word of God inside a person and not a famous Preacher’s sermon will keep one rooted in God, His Kingdom and His Ways. Those who says do not get too deep into scriptures, warn of crossing ‘Church teachings’ guidelines etc. will be exposed soon or later.

Lord said if you are unwilling to leave your father, mother, brother sister for my sake then you are not worthy of me, this goes also for Believer / Church relations.

Lord You are Almighty God. You are Father and You alone are Father. Lord we pray we hold to the truth even at the cost of all earthly relationships. We pray we understand the difference between this life and spiritual life and how this life is just a few moments compared to our spiritual life. Lord we pray You sharpen our discernment and open our spiritual eyes to recognize the goats from the sheep...

Love thy Brother or Love they Neighbor

1 John 4: 21  And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

We see Jesus spoke about love thy neighbor but we see Paul, John and others replaced the word ‘neighbor’ with ‘brother’.

How did they understand the term neighbor meant brother? A brother / brethren is someone born from the same parent (father / mother) while neighbor is someone staying near.

Neither Jesus nor Paul nor John spoke of natural neighbor or natural brother but spoke of spiritual neighbor and spiritual brethren. They are the same, if one understands their meaning.

I ask people when I preach as to who will stay in the bungalow/cottage they are expecting to stay, in Heaven? They first thing they respond with is family (husband/wife and children), then I ask them about parents, some respond yes and some stay quiet. As I ask go on asking about grandparents, close relatives and others, the ‘yes’ becomes less and lesser. They then realize no one can enter Heaven because of relationship but by only one’s own believe and walk in the Lord.

Our earthly relationships, including family end with the body. Our spiritual relationship is only via our spiritual Father in Heaven. Jesus said in resurrection we will be as the Angels (who are called Sons of God). It is for this reason John did not say sisters but only brothers, for in Heaven our earthly sisters will also transform into Sons of God / Angels.

When God created us in spirit we were of the same gender (male), it is only in the flesh we have male or female gender. A sister who is led by the Holy Spirit is spiritual male that is why Paul wrote in Christ there is no male or female like there is no race or caste or social status in Christ.

This week the Jews celebrate Sukkot not knowing it is about Christ coming as man. They are commanded to stay in tents for 7 days and next day was a high Sabbath - the day Jesus was born, symbolizing our lives in this temporary bodies (tents) until we are one in the Holy Spirit (7 Spirits of God) whom we receive through Jesus Christ.

If we love God we have to love each and every person who is His and part of our Heavenly family. It is not just casual love but love as much Christ loved us.

You created us in spirit and put us in the flesh and commanded us to overcome the flesh so that we prove to be worthy of receiving the inheritance You have set for us in our eternal home Heaven. Lord we pray we are aliens here in this creation and our true home and family is in You alone...

Faith the Cement that Holds us to the Rock

Hebrew 11: 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

In the Bible we see faith is symbolized to a large rock, rock as in not a boulder but more a cliff. The Greek word for rock used in Bible is ‘Petra’ and the word used for Peter is ‘Petros’ which means small stone. In Aramaic rock is called ‘Suhas’ and small stone is ‘Cephas’.

So when Jesus told Peter ‘you are Peter (petros) and on this rock (petra) I will build my Church’. He told him, you have little knowledge but I build my Church on the truth which was revealed to you by my Father (Holy Spirit). We know little yet Christ has called us as a body to know the truth on which the Church is build.

Truth comes from the Holy Spirit for it is He who reveals it to us. Without truth, faith becomes hope or trust but not faith. Truth does not change thus faith becomes true faith and is strong, unshakeable. Believe is like cement, believe becomes faith only when we are cemented to the rock of truth. When we are strongly attached to the truth our faith becomes authority.

There are many kinds of cements, some harden quickly while others harden over a period of time. Some even after hardening can break while some can face all tests of time. Events in our life test the strength of the cement, so even if we are attached to the truth but our cement is not hardened well then we can face spiritual trouble. The thing that strengthens our faith is works of faith. Works of faith means doing the Will of the Father that is the mission that Christ gave us.

James said if we do not do the mission that Christ gave us that is the works (of faith) then we cannot say we know (are attached to) the truth.. Let us not just verbally confess Christ but let our confession be strong, backed by our action. It is only when we are strongly attached to the truth will be really know God and His creation, its design and purpose.

Every being that lives is created by You for a purpose even the things that are not made in your image and things that do not have life. Lord we pray we cemented well to the Rock (Truth) so that we not only not be shaken but may know You and your purpose in us...

Remembering Tyndale

Colossians 2: 14  Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Today the 6th of Oct the day William Tyndale was martyred in 1536 for translating the Bible in English. What people do not know is that Tyndale’s Bible (NT) was not the first English translation yet he was murdered for it.

Tyndale during his MA degree studies (1515) took up theology as part of his topics and thus got into systematic study of Scriptures. It was then he realized the difference between the original Greek scriptures and the Latin scriptures which were orchestrated by the Catholic Church. He with a few others managed to do the first English translation from Greek manuscripts. A full edition of the New Testament was produced in 1526 by printer Peter Schöffer in Worms, a free imperial city then in the process of adopting Lutheranism. More copies were soon printed in Antwerp. It was smuggled from continental Europe into England and Scotland. The translation was condemned in October 1526 by Bishop Tunstall, who issued warnings to booksellers and had copies burned in public. Of the 3000 copies smuggled only 1 survived.

Before Tyndale’s NT was the famous Wycliffe Bible (1382). John Wycliffe did the first translation of the entire Bible (both Old and New Testaments) into English. He did it from Latin scriptures which were authenticated by the Catholic Church. What is interesting is John Wycliffe is called, "The Morning Star of the Reformation" even though his work did not disturb the Catholic Church like the work that Tyndale did. What is more ironic is it is the Wycliffe Bible that was the foundation of the King James Version. It was much later that KJV moved to the Greek text using Tyndale’s work and that is why the 1604 KJV version is used for Bible study and is called the AV (Authorized Version).

Even today we are still trying and trying to get a perfect English translation due to the rich, complex Kone Greek language (used for the original manuscripts) compared to the simpler English language we use today. 

In today’s scripture as the Lord wipes away our wrong doings similarly Satan tries to swipe the truth and keep it far from us. Let us not be deceived to think the Bible is simple and that we can take any translation as verbatim truth. If we want to know the truth it is time we take the Bible seriously, learn the Biblical languages (at least basics) and study manuscripts and their variations. 

What is very interesting to note is Biblically the birth of Christ was during the Feast of the Tabernacle which comes in the first weeks of Oct (this year is 10th Oct) preceded by Sukkot (2nd to 9th Oct). After the Church went into exile with the coming of the Catholic 300AD, it was exactly after 1260 years as per prophecy that it came back with the Word coming in the hands of the people. Let Tyndale’s death remind us of the importance of really studying the Word in its depth.

Weakness of the Flesh

2 Corinthians 11:16, 17, 18  I say again, Let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little. That which I speak, I speak [it] not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting. Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.

We read in today’s verses the Church of Corinth had a conflicting view of Paul which caused great disturbance in his spiritual life. All knew Paul had great knowledge and understanding of scriptures and the Kingdom of God but because of his problem of not being a good orator in person he could not present it. The Corinthians openly confessed the letters of Paul were strong put his speech weak. This angered and upset Paul very much.

Paul is looked up to be the most humble man in the NT but this humility did not come easy. The Corinthians played a big hand as critics to confront the image Paul had of himself. God did not heal Paul of his rude language but helped him understand how we need to work together towards achieving the purpose of God.

God made us as a body and thus did not give all abilities to one person (leaving to Christ), thus we need to be one, connecting, supporting and building each other. It is only when we build each other that we will achieve our goal in Christ and know the Truth.

Asking for Needs

Philippians 4:10,11  But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, [therewith] to be content.

During the time of Moses according to instructions of the Lord, Moses asked the people to contribute towards build of the Tabernacle and the people whole heartedly gave. They gave so much that it exceeded the requirement, such that Moses returned back the surplus unto the people.

In today’s day if any Church or Ministry gets surplus money it would only be a dream to think of them returning back the surplus. What will happen is either the plans will expand or the surplus put in savings as funds for future requirements. In all this Lord is missing either in the plans or in trusting as being provider.

Paul worked for his own provision, and not only extended support to others in his team but also saved for his future requirements. He never had the need to put his hand forward before any person or Church for his own necessities.

In today’s date most leaders are not led by the Lord in what they plan thus they see they struggle to keep it running and they also do not trust the Lord to provide (even through the claim verbally) thus nurture affluent cows in Church who can provide as and when required, and for this they compromise their spiritual values.

Let us be led by the Lord and trust Him as our Provider, Protector and Creator for He alone is our Spiritual Father.

Lord You are Almighty God. You alone are Father, we may have natural father who was instrument to bring us into this world, nurture us and care for us but yet You created us and gave us life. We may have spiritual children those whom we guide in You but we do not become their spiritual fathers. They that Sleep will rise on His Coming

1 Thessalonians 4: 14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose {not past tense but Aorist tense} again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

One great confusion that exist amongst Christians is what happens to the dead. The reason behind this is the doctrine of Nicolaitans which was adopted by the Catholic Church and has been inherited by the Believer Church without being filtered.

Most Christians believe when a Believer person dies he or she goes to Heaven immediately. Those who do not believe via Heaven and sent to Hell. This is a similar believe amongst most pagan religions including Hinduism. Hindus set the pyre of the dead in a direction believe the soul goes to heaven and even if they go to hell they do so via heaven (there are some who believe in the opposite).

In the Bible we read like in today’s scripture all those who believe in Christ / sleep in Him will rise on Judgment Day when He comes again. This came is also given in OT not just NT.

In OT any Man of God who died it is written they were gathered unto their fathers/people. We also read after dead the spirit of Samuel was called up from sleep / grave by King Saul for which he received punishment. Human in flesh is forbidden to speak / communicate with the dead, therefore Jesus transfigured so as to speak to Moses and Elijah.

In NT in the parable of beggar Lazarus and rich man, we find after death Lazarus goes to the bosom of Abraham and not bosom of the Lord. When Stephen died we read although he saw open Heaven and said Lord receive my spirit, yet it is written he slept (in the Lord).

I have mentioned before the Bride does not go in parts but as whole. So all from the OT and NT right unto the last Believer on Judgment Day will stand before Him when He comes again and will be Judged. Those found worthy (sheep) will go to Heaven and those found unworthy (goats) will go to a place worse than Hell (Hell is meant for unbelievers and those forsaken by the Lord). Lake of Fire / Sulphur is a place which was set for the fallen angels and Satan (Dragon and Beast) but the goats too receive this punishment.

The main problem with people is they take English translations verbatim and do not realize the Greek language cannot be translated easily into English for the richness that exist in Greek does not exist in the English language, like we have just 3 tenses in English but have 7 in Greek.

Let’s understand the Lord in His wisdom led the Apostles to rewrite the Gospels from Aramaic to Greek and write the Epistles in Greek even though Jews spoke Hebrew (in Synagogues) and Aramaic (in public places)..

We pray your people know that salvation although a person choice yet going to Heaven is not something an individual achieves individually therefore we need to be one and build each other in You. Failing in Grace

Hebrew 12 : 15  Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble [you], and thereby many be defiled;

A couple of days back I post a message about how we need to not take our salvation for granted but diligently work towards keeping it by doing the works of faith, that is doing the Will of the Father / mission which Christ gave us. One person in one of the FB groups strongly disagreed with me, she kept on persistently asking me if ‘I had eternal life’. For her, as preached in Church, as long she believed in Christ, she was going to Heaven and eternal life is assured to her.

In today’s scripture we read Paul (supposedly) stating how he diligently followed up on people in the Church who due to things like bitterness with another member may fail of the grace of God. Jesus warned if one brethren hates another without cause may be in danger of eternal damnation.

We all know we are saved by grace and this grace is received because we have faith in Christ, this faith was given as a gift that we used and proved to be His children. Grace is directly related to faith, thus if we deny Christ we will surely not go to Heaven. To remain in the promise we need to remain in the faith.

Faith is not a tablet which we consume once and all is done. It is a fire that needs to be kept alive, to be kept burning and for that we need to protect it from extinguishing by any bad event or lack of fuel. The fuel for our faith is our Christian lifestyle (discipleship), relationship with other brethren / God and spiritual growth in the Lord. If the flame of faith is small it is more prone to danger, but something like a forest fire cannot be extinguished easily by any person or any single event.

Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord made us for the purpose of being a light in the darkness. We pray we kept the flame of faith burning so by truth that we repel the darkness which we need to overcome. We pray we do not lose our salvation by not protecting our faith in You. We pray we grow our faith such that it needs less and less protection...

Selective Choosing

2 Timothy 1: 9, 10  Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

When I get the same scripture again and again within a short period it becomes very difficult to understand what else the Lord to wants to tell us more through it, so one needs to dig deeper and deeper within it.

The term ‘law’ in Hebrew ‘Torah’ and in Greek ‘Nomos’ simply means direction, and directions that come from a person or body of authority. The Word of God is referred to by the Angels as ‘Words {rhema - instructions} to this Life’ thus the Word of God itself is law.

The Jews followed the Torah of Moses in letter and thus did not pleased the Lord. To please the Lord one need to follow the whole law (with understanding) and not part of the law. The Scribes / Sadducees who were official Jewish interpreters of the law, did try to follow Moses’s book verbatim but did selective choosing when it came to the books of other Prophets of the OT. They failed to understand what God speaks through the mouth of 2 or 3 to establish His Word, thus what Moses spoke was confirmed through the mouth of others and when someone tried to blank the confirmation then the person lands up distorting that which they accept and that is exactly what the Jews did.

The Jews who did not understand the books of Moses and yet try to follow him, they had made him from Man of God into man-god like the Catholics have done to Mary. The Lord had to hide the body of Moses so that the Jews did not worship it like the Catholics do to the bodies of people they call saints.

Believers are not far behind, what they do is hear the Preachers they follow as disciples and put aside / ignore scriptures which the Preacher did not refer to. They carry understanding contrary to the Word of God and like the Sadducees have created a wall around it, unwilling to verify it or correct it. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees many a times but did not rebuke the Sadducees much for He did not find hope in them correcting themselves that is why some Pharisees became His disciples but no record of a Sadducees becoming one.

Let us get it into us, no scripture can be ignored and no understanding cannot be based on just one scripture, it need to be backed by two or three scriptures.

Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are never changing for You are perfect in very way, so also your Word is never changing since it too is perfect in every way. Lord we pray we do not loose of our inheritance by subtracting of the Word nor suffer wrath by adding to the Word...

The Body that Saves

Hebrew 10 : 5  Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

Many Preachers, especially Catholics talk of the ‘sacrificial body’ of Jesus Christ. For those who know Greek such a statement is an oxymoron since the word ‘Soma’ for body comes from the root word ‘Sozo’ which means to save.

Christ came not to save our natural body but to save our spiritual body which is the real us. If we try to save our natural body we land up losing our spiritual body. We need to get it into us flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. Flesh does not just mean the body parts but also means the carnal us, our natural desires, our natural pleasures etc. so also blood symbolizes our natural life.

Unless we do not work towards separating ourselves from our natural desires (not clinging on to them) and do not be ready to die for Christ we will not be sure to be saved. Salvation is only when we are part of the Body of Christ and only those alive in spirit can be part of this spiritual body, not the spiritual dead.

Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord made us in the flesh which seems real so that we come it by understanding the unseen is more real than the seen. We pray we see the spirit us more than the natural us and seek You in Spirit and in Truth...
