In a Facebook post on Saturday night, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proudly announced that his wife, Sara, had spoken with the soon-to-be First Lady, Melania Trump.
“This evening my wife Sara spoke with Melania Trump, the wife of the president-elect of the United States,”  Netanyahu wrote.”The conversation between them was heartfelt and warm. Mrs. Trump said that she looks forward to our visit at the first opportunity and that there will be wonderful relations between our countries and our families.

President Elect Donald J. Trump, possibly the most unpredictable man in American political history, has reiterated his promise to employ his “Art of the Deal” in achieving lasting peace between Jews and Arabs in the Middle East. In an interview to the Wall Street Journal Friday, in which he also said he would leave in place parts of Obamacare, and said he got a “beautiful” letter from Russian President Vladimir Putin upon his victory,  Trump repeated his promise “to help craft a resolution” for the Israel-Palestine situation, which he called “the war that never ends.”
Back in March 2016, candidate Trump told the NY Times regarding the two-state solution, “I would love to see if a deal could be made. If a deal could be made. Now, I’m not sure it can be made, there’s such unbelievable hatred, there’s such, it’s ingrained, it’s in the blood, the hatred and the distrust, and the horror. But I would love to see if a real deal could be made. Not a deal that you know, lasts for three months, and then everybody starts shooting again. And a big part of that deal, you know, has to be to end terror, we have to end terror.”
Trump then said, “Basically I support a two-state solution on Israel,” with the proviso that “the Palestinian Authority has to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state. Have to do that. And they have to stop the terror, stop the attacks, stop the teaching of hatred, you know?”

Michael Lynk, the United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in Israel, condemned Israel in the press on Thursday for using lethal force when dealing with “alleged Palestinian assailants”.

Lynk told the Agence France-Presse (AFP), the world’s third largest  international news agency headquartered in Paris, “Lethal force is supposed to be used as a last resort and only when there is a legitimate threat to a security officer’s life”.

Since the recent wave of terror began just over a year ago, approximately 250 Palestinians have been killed while carrying out terror attacks. 36 Israelis have been killed by Palestinians in what is being called the third Intifada, which means ‘terror’ in Arabic.

Lynk brought as an example the case of AvrahamSchlissel, an ultra-Orthodox Israeli who went on a stabbing spree during the Jerusalem gay pride parade in 2005.

“He was actually brought down and wasn’t actually physically harmed in any way,” Lynk said, adding, “If that kind of force can be used to neutralize an attacker with a knife, why can’t that be used with most of the alleged Palestinian assailants in similar circumstances?”

The job of the Special Rapporteur , which Lynk took over in March, is more limited in scope then the name implies. According to the mandate that created the position, the Rapporteur is responsible for reporting alleged human rights violation by Israel but is forbidden from reporting abuses perpetrated by any other government, including the Palestinian Authority. To further complicate matters, due to the blatantly biased nature of the office, Israel refuses to grant visas to those taking over the position.

When asked if he would consider expanding his duties to include reporting human rights violations perpetrated by Palestinian, Lynk said was non-committal, saying, “It is something I am open to and am considering.”

Lynk went on to blame “alleged” Palestinian attacks on Israeli economic oppression.

“When you look at the larger picture, with no hope on the horizon for a peace process, with deteriorating economic circumstances, it becomes clear that there is a nexus, a relationship, or a connection between these kinds of attacks — deplorable as they may be — and the much larger economic, social and political circumstances,” Lynk said.’

This is consistent with a claim he made this week at an event at Columbia University. When asked if he was concerned by human rights violations perpetrated by Hamas against the Palestinians in Gaza, he again, blamed Israel, saying, ““Hamas was only an answer, although a radical one, to the belligerent occupation.”

Lynk’s appointment was a result of pressure from the Arab nations at the UN. Hillel Neuer, executive director of UN Watch, a watchdog organization in Geneva, criticized the decision, noting that Lynk refers to Israel as an apartheid state and openly calls for dismantling the Jewish State.

“The UN’s selection of a manifestly partisan candidate — someone who three days after 9/11 blamed the West for provoking the attacks on the World Trade Center — constitutes a travesty of justice and a breach of the world body’s own rules,” Neuer said in his statement.

While Donald Trump basked in the glow of his unanticipated upset victory, thousands of disappointed supporters of the defeated Democratic presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, reacted by taking to the streets in mass protests in dozens of cities across the US.

An orange-colored Trump effigy was burned in Los Angeles, while signs declaring “Not our President” were displayed all over the country. Though most of the protests were reported to have been peaceful, arrests were made at several rallies and many of the marches intentionally blocked major thoroughfares.

A New York Police Department spokesman reported to the media that approximately 5,000 protesters gathered outside Trump Tower in Manhattan on Wednesday night, leading to 15 arrests for disorderly  conduct. Lady Gaga, a well-known singer and performing artist who was a prominent supporter of Clinton during the campaign, was present at that protest.

At the same time, 2,000 protesters in Chicago blocked Lake Shore Drive, an eight-lane expressway, as they marched to the Trump International Hotel and Tower. Police arrested five people: two men were charged with obstructing traffic, one man was charged with reckless conduct, and another man was charged with criminal trespass to land. A juvenile was arrested and may be charged with criminal trespass and resisting arrest.

In Dallas, about 300 protesters gathered outside the AT&T Plaza at Victory Park in a rally organized by Next Generation Action Network, a social cause NGO.

Minister Dominique R. Alexander, the President and founder of the NGO, released a statement to the press, saying Trump’s rise to power threatens the country’s progression “into a more unified, dignified, and economically stable society”.

“When human rights, social justice, and common decency is put on the back burner for bigotry and hate as we have witnessed as citizens of the United States of America we have no other choice but to rebel,” Alexander said.

A large crowd gathered near Los Angeles City Hall, spraying graffiti on walls and fences. Approximately 1,000 Los Angeles high school students marched out of their classes on Wednesday afternoon to protest at the city hall, blocking traffic and burning Trump in effigy.

In Berkeley, hundreds of protesters marched through the streets early Wednesday. California Highway Patrol reported that one protester was seriously injured after being struck by a car when protesters attempted to move onto a freeway.

In Seattle, Washington, 100 protesters gathered in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, blocked roads and set trash to a bin.
Protests were prevalent at college campuses around the country. Hundreds of University of Pittsburgh students marched through the streets of the city. The student newspaper, The Pitt News, posted that several students were handcuffed but no arrests were made.

The Philadelphia Socialist Alternative, a socialist organization, sent out a call on social media as soon as the election results came in, and a few hours later, more than 2,000 people gathered at the Thomas Paine Plaza outside the Municipal Services Building to protest Trump’s victory. The organization’s ire was not focused solely on the president-elect. They also blamed the Democratic party for backing Hillary Clinton after the primaries, rather than Bernie Sanders, while declaring plans to create a new political party.

Anger over the US election results crossed the Atlantic Ocean, as protesters gathered outside the US Embassy in London. There were reports of confrontations with members of a right-wing racist group. Scotland Yard reported that there were no arrests.

“Global Messiah Happening” as Saudi-Iran Conflict Presages Prophesied Nuclear War

The aftershocks of the US-brokered deal with Iran concerning their nuclear program have left many political analysts stymied, but one ancient Jewish source presents a scenario, unthinkable just a few years ago, which is now a strong possibility: a nuclear war between Saudi Arabia and Iran that leaves Israel untouched and makes way for the coming of the Messiah.

So much is still unclear about Iran and the Middle East, but the Yalkut Shimoni, a collection of Biblical teachings believed to have been arranged in the 13th century, predicted a scenario that is is becoming more relevant as time goes on, anticipating our present political reality.
Rabbi Yizchok said: “The year that Melech HaMoshiach [Messiah the King] will be revealed, all the nations of the world will be provoking each other. The King of Persia (Iran) will provoke the King of Arabia (Saudi Arabia), and the King of Arabia will go to Edom (the West) to take counsel, but the King of Persia will in turn, destroy the entire world. The nations of the world will be outraged and panicked. They will fall on their faces, and they will experience pains like birth pangs. Israel too will be outraged and in a state of panic and ask, where do we go? But say unto them, ‘My children, do not fear, the time of your redemption has come. And in the last redemption will be different from the first which was followed by further bondage and pain. After this last redemption, you will not again experience any further pain or subjugation.’”
The Yalkut Shimoni predicted a global conflict involving all of the nations. The focus of the conflict, though, will be Iran pitted against Saudi Arabia, resulting in total apocalypse which, in light of today’s weapons technology, would likely be nuclear.

Israeli Leaders, Excited by Trump Win,
Look Forward to Big Changes in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria

Israeli leaders and government ministers congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the American presidential race and said that they anticipate exciting changes in policies relating to Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat called Trump a “devoted supporter of Jerusalem” and said that he expects him to move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, as Trump promised on the campaign trail.

He also extended an invitation to the president-elect, saying, “I am full of hope for your support for our activities for building in and developing Jerusalem for all her residents, and I invite you to visit the capital of Israel.”

Minister of Education Naftali Bennett released a statement congratulating Trump and the American people and affirming that the special relationship between Israel and America would continue and strengthen.

Bennett took the opportunity to remind Trump of his platform position “to immediately retract the notion of a Palestinian state in the center of the country, which would hurt our security and just cause.”

“This is the position of the President-elect, as written in his platform, and it should be our policy, plain and simple,” he stated. “The era of a Palestinian state is over.”

Leaders of the movement to settle the Biblical heartland also expressed their satisfaction with the election’s outcome. “There is no question that Trump’s statements are the most supportive of Israel and the settlement movement in recent years,” said Yochai Damari, head of the Mount Hebron Regional Council, TPS reported.

“I hope this change leads to a revolution – a revolution in consciousness, a revolution in thought and a revolution in action regarding our approach to settlement in Judea and Samaria. That sort of consciousness could serve as an opening and an opportunity towards real peace.”

MK Bezlael Smotrich (Jewish Home) called for Trump’s new administration to end the freeze on settlements and initiate new building projects in Judea and Samaria.

“The government of the United States has changed, and with it we must do away with the terrible freeze on settlement building that has been forced on the State of Israel by the previous administration. [There must be a] flourish of building and settlement,” he said.

Trump Upset Victory Divinely Sent to Begin Messianic Process: Rabbis

Donald Trump’s upset victory in the presidential race over Hillary Clinton, who was heavily favored in virtually all the pre-election polls, seemed to defy the laws of nature, reason and sense. Several rabbis have an explanation, however: it was, quite simply, the will of God.

As the rabbi who oversees the final resting place of King David on Mount Zion, Rabbi Yosef Berger is intimately connected to the spirituality of kingship. For him it was clear what tipped the scales in favor of the Republican underdog.

“I have known for months that Donald Trump would win the elections,” Rabbi Berger told Breaking Israel News. “The gematria (numerology) of his name is Moshiach (Messiah). He is connected to the Messianic process which is happening right now. When he promised to move the American Embassy to Jerusalem, he attached himself to the power of Moshiach, which gave him the boost he needed. If you separate from Jerusalem, disaster will follow.”

When taking the gematria into account, it was clear that Trump had a spiritual edge. As Rabbi Berger pointed out, the gematria for Donald Trump in Hebrew (דונלד טראמפ) is 424, which is equal to the gematria of “Messiah for the House of David” (משיח בן דוד). The Ben Ish Chai, an authority on Jewish law and master kabbalist who lived in Baghdad 150 years ago, interpreted the number 212 as a difficult time for Israel before the Final Redemption. Trump’s gematria is twice that, signifying an ongoing Messiah process.

Rabbi Berger was clear on how this election fit into the process of Messiah. “As the spiritual descendant of the Biblical nation of Edom, America has a very important role to play in the Messiah. But in order to be suited for that role, America had to be humbled,” Rabbi Berger stated.

“In order to establish his kingdom, God had to create confusion, a situation in which the best plans laid by the most powerful people, comes to nothing.”

The rabbi quoted the well-known proverb:

A man’s heart deviseth his way; but Hashem directeth his steps. Proverbs 16:9

“This outsider, whose own party rejected him, despised by the media, won despite what the experts predicted,” Rabbi Berger said.

As spokesman for the nascent Sanhedrin, Rabbi Hillel Weiss, also saw God’s interest in Israel as part of the election. He said that Trump’s victory was, in part, a reaction to President Barack Obama’s Israel policies.

“President Obama made himself a very visible part of the campaign. It is clear that Hashem (God) was part of the political process, using it to punish President Obama and those who were working to harm Israel,” Rabbi Weiss told Breaking Israel News.

“By allowing Iran to establish a nuclear program which is clearly not for peaceful purposes, by standing aside and allowing the UN to make resolutions to harm Israel, Obama established himself as an enemy of Israel.”

“All of the academics and the media, who create their own world with evil words, they worked against Trump,” continued Rabbi Weiss. “They tried to create a man-made reality in which Trump could not win. In the end, it did not work. Hashem is moving us towards a greater Jerusalem, and anyone who goes against that, is destined to fail.”

Trump’s slim margin of triumph and the fact that throughout the hotly contested campaign, Clinton consistently led in most pre-election polls made his victory even more stunning.

At one point, Clinton led with a double digit advantage of up to 17 points. A CNN poll in June predicted a Clinton landslide victory by 24 percent. Indeed, up until the day before the elections, major polls were giving the Democratic candidate a five percent edge. Though Trump won the electoral college by a wide margin (279 as compared to Clinton’s 218), the popular vote told a very different story, with Clinton actually winning by one percent.

In an election of such import, the margin was tiny. With the future of a world superpower in the balance, it was clear that such an upset victory, flying in the face of conventional politics, media predictions, and the expectations of international leaders, not to mention many Americans, was entirely due to an outside influence.

New Poll Shows 90% of Pro-Israel Evangelicals Support Trump

A poll by Israel365 has found that pro-Israel Evangelical Christian voters are maintaining their strong support for presidential candidate Donald Trump during the contentious US election.
In an email survey sent to 150,000 Israel365 daily newsletter subscribers, Israel365 asked readers which candidate he or she felt was better for Israel: Republican Donald Trump, or Democrat Hillary Clinton.
According to Shlomo Schreibman, Vice President of the Israel Media Network, which specializes in marketing to the pro-Israel Evangelical crowd, “These findings are very interesting because while we knew a majority of Evangelicals support Trump, we were surprised by the overwhelming 90 percent support for Donald Trump.”
The Israel365 poll was sent on three dates in batches of 50,000, with emails going out on September 27, September 30, and October 20; voting data was captured daily to observe trends. The majority of participants identified themselves as pro-Israel Evangelical Christians. A total of  6,897 people responded to the poll.

The Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) raised a record $38 million at a celebrity gala Thursday at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
The event was chaired by businessman and media mogul Haim Saban and his wife Cheryl and included a number of prominent Jewish names including Serge Azria, Robert Book, Robert Kraft, Maurice and Paul Marciano and Casey Wasserman. Other celebrity guests in attendance included Julie Bowen, Gerard Butler, Robert De Niro, Joanna Krupa and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The second annual week-long B’Ney Yosef North America National Conference convened last Monday in Ariel, Samaria, bringing together over 130 representative from 12 countries to affirm that they are the spiritual descendants of the tribe of Efraim, returning at last to join their brother Judah in their ancestral homeland.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that Israel-US ties would remain strong regardless of the outcome of the American election on Tuesday, but added that Israel has also broadened its foreign policy horizons in recent years.
Despite frequent tension with the Obama administration over the past eight years, Netanyahu told cabinet ministers that relations with Washington are “solid” and would continue to be strong with either Hillary Clinton or Donald J. Trump in the White House. He also stressed that Israel considers ties with the United States as it’s most important relationship.
“We expect the United States to remain faithful to the idea that it has established for many years – namely, that the Israel-Palestinian conflict can be solved only via direct negotiations without preconditions, and certainly not via resolutions at the United Nations or other international bodies,” Netanyahu said at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting.

Netanyahu also noted that Israel has opened several new diplomatic channels in recent years, notably with a slew of countries in Africa, Southeast Asia and South America, and also with world powers Russia and China. Last week, Wang Xiaotao, the deputy chief of China’s National Development and Reform Commission visited Israel for talks about increasing trade between Israel and Beijing, which currently stands at about US $11 billion, including $3.5 billion in Israeli exports.

As the US Presidential elections draw closer, the candidates are looking for all the support they can get.
On Saturday night, Ivanka Trump, presidential candidate Donald Trump’s Jewish daughter, and her husband Jared Kushner visited the grave of the influential Lubavitcher Rebbe, also known as the “Ohel”. The Ohel is located in the Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens, New York.

The visit was ostensibly for a blessing before the elections, but it may have also been to drum up additional last minute support among the Orthodox community, many of whom already support Trump.
Press were not invited to the event.
The visit also happened to coincide with the gun scare at Donald Trump’s rally in Reno, Nevada.
On the other side of the Hassidic spectrum, last week, a Satmar Brooklyn weekly, Der Yid, according to a report in The Forward, recommended that voters show their appreciation to Hillary Clinton for being “sympathetic to the needs of the Haredi Community.”

Remy Ilona was born into a Catholic family in Nigeria, but these days he spends his time proving that his African tribe, the Igbo, are descended from the 12 Tribes and were exiled from Israel after the destruction of the First Temple 2,600 years ago.
Currently in Israel networking and doing research, Ilona spoke to Breaking Israel News about his upbringing and his 20-year quest to have his people recognized as Jews.
He described how, 200 years ago, the Catholic and Anglican churches sent missionaries to Nigeria. From the age of 6, Ilona was “very, very uncomfortable with the Catholic Church. Everyone in the family was skeptical of the Catholic Church.

Last week, John Hagee Ministries distributed over $2 million to 21 Israel-based charities and organizations at his 35th annual “Night to Honor Israel” event. While the event represented a high point for pro-Israel Christian spiritual support, it marked a rather low one in financial support, pointing to a trend in Christian fundraising for Israel which many experts think signals a much more significant shift – but not necessarily for the worse.

This year’s $2.2 million marks a 30 percent decrease from last year’s event, when $3.2 million was distributed, but the downward progression goes much further back, Sondra Oster Baras, Director of the Israel branch of Christian Friends of Israeli Communities (CFOIC), told Breaking Israel News.
Several years ago, she pointed out, annual funds given at the event averaged between $8 and $10 million. In 2010, Pastor Hagee, who founded and chairs Christians United for Israel (CUFI), gave out $8.25 million to 40 different Israeli organizations. However, in recent years, the number has dropped dramatically. By the 2013 event, only $2.7 million was given, followed by $2.8 million in 2014.
Though 2015 saw a 12.5 percent increase, this year the number was at a record low, representing a drastic 73 percent drop within six years.
Avi Morgenstern, CUFI’s director of press relations, told Breaking Israel News that the reason behind the drop is “rather mundane:  fundraising ebbs and flows.”

An attendee at the event agreed. “I didn’t notice any changes in the event itself, the attendance was similar, and there’s no indication that there was any less support for this,” the attendee told Breaking Israel News via email. “The discussion among other recipients was that their overall fundraising may have been down.”
But Oster Baras, along with other figures involved in the world of Christian-Jewish relations and fundraising, thinks the drop represents meaningful changes.

50,000 Israelis gathered in Rabin Square, the site where Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin was assassinated 21 years ago, for a memorial ceremony, but the event quickly changed into a one-sided political mud-slinging fest.
The rally was almost cancelled last week when the youth groups and NGO’s that normally fund the annual event announced they would no longer be memorializing Rabin in this manner. After an initial attempt to raise the $200,000 required for the rally came up $60,000 short, the Labor Party, the party Rabin headed, made up the difference.

The event turned political when opposition leader Isaac Herzog (Labor)  accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of incitement and resorted to name-calling.
“Twenty-one years on, the incitement is the same incitement and the leader is same the leader,” said Herzog to the crowd. “We can no longer let anyone, not a bully nor a leader, continue to incite — not a Knesset member, not a minister and not the prime minister.”
Zionist Union MK Tzipi Livni also took the opportunity to attack the prime minister.

Angels appear hundreds of times throughout the Bible, but the essence and purpose of these celestial beings are not always clear. Much of the problem stems from the fact that artists, since the 14th century, have depicted angels as beautiful creatures adorned with wings and halos of light. Bible study and our sages enlighten the issue.
“In Hebrew, an angel is called malakh (מַלְאַךְ),” noted Roni Segal, academic adviser for eTeacher, an online language academy specializing in Biblical Hebrew, to Breaking Israel News. “The root of this word, lakh (לאך) means “going back and forth”. God frequently employs angels as intermediaries between heaven and earth, God and man. They tirelessly go back and forth between worlds to deliver information and fulfill Godly missions.”
Malakh is also related to the word melakha (מְלָאכָה), which means hard work. Angels created by God are “programmed” to perform a specific task in this world and work hard to fulfill their mission. In fact, the mystics explain that  one of the tasks allotted to angels is to transport our prayers and time spent in Bible study to the Heavenly throne.
Amazingly, God is not the only one who can create angels. Man has also been given this power. In the “Ethics of the Fathers” we are told that man creates angels through his deeds. Rabbi Eliezer is quoted as saying, “He who fulfills one mitzvah [Biblical commandment], acquires for himself one angel-advocate; he who commits one transgression, acquires against himself one angel-accuser.”
Angels often appear in the Bible as human beings. For example, when God sends angels to Abraham after his circumcision, they appear as men; “and he [Abraham] lifted up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood over against him; and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed down to the earth.” (Genesis 18:2)
The Sages teach that these men were actually angels sent by God to fulfill individual missions. One angel was sent to heal Abraham from his circumcision. Another was sent to tell Abraham that Sarah would conceive after nearly a century of being barren. The last angel was sent to destroy the corrupt city of Sodom.

The seminar, which grew out of a discussion on improving cooperation between Israel and the U.N., will focus on emergency medicine and providing first response medical personnel in conflict zones throughout the world. Israel is frequently one of the first countries to respond to worldwide humanitarian efforts by sending missions to disaster zones with recent examples including Haiti, the Philippines and Nepal.

FBI Sources Report Clinton Indictment Likely [VIDEO]

On Wednesday night, Fox News reported that, according to FBI sources, an indictment of Democratic Candidate Hillary Clinton is likely. Anchor Brett Baier claimed that “barring some obstruction in some way”, an indictment is likely, though no time-frame for the process was suggested and no verification of the reports has been offered. It is still unclear if or how this will affect her candidacy. One source allegedly told Baier “there is an avalanche of new information coming every day.”
The FBI investigation into what has been labelled “pay-for-play” has been going on for over a year. Based on two sources, the Fox News report claimed the investigation being performed by the FBI white-collar-crimes division was being expanded to include probes into the Clinton Foundation trading political favors for significant donations.

The sources also told Fox News that Mrs. Clinton’s private email server, which she used to handle classified information as secretary of state, had been breached by at least five hackers attached to foreign intelligence services and that material had been stolen from her server. If true, this would be a recent development since FBI Director James Comey said in July that he could not say definitively whether her server had been breached.

Obama May Push Palestinian State Through at UN in Final Months: Report

President Barack Obama has ordered up an “options menu” for proceeding with a diplomatic resolution between Israel and the Palestinians at the United Nations, to Israel’s great consternation, a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) editorial reported on Monday.
According to the article, entitled “Obama’s Israel Surprise”, the White House has requested a list of options from the State Department to fill Obama’s final months in office. Among them: sponsoring a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Israeli settlement building – a step that, despite the US’s known displeasure on the subject, the administration has yet to officially take.
Obama might sponsor, “or at least allow”, such a resolution, said the article, and, domestically, punish Americans involved in Israeli construction by implementing “new IRS regulations revoking the tax-exempt status of people or entities involved in settlement building.”
There is another, even more worrying option on the menu, the WSJ warned, and that is the possibility of Obama pushing “formal recognition of a Palestinian state at the Security Council.”
Such a move, without a simultaneous peace agreement with Israel, would essentially destroy the possibility for a future peace. Without a state as a bargaining chip, the Palestinians would lack virtually all motivation to work with Israel.

Palestinians claiming to be the owners of an untended field inside Nokdim, an Israeli town southeast of Jerusalem, entered the community Wednesday morning along with their attorney. They said they wanted to set a time to return in order to plant crops in the field.
Several Nokdim residents protested the visit. One resident told Tazpit Press Service (TPS) that the Palestinians’ lawyer had demanded that security forces remove the residents who had gathered to demonstrate, claiming the site was privately-owned Palestinian land. Police refused.

Putin to US: Be More Like Israel

Russian President Vladimir Putin thinks the United States should look to Israel on fighting global terror, the leader said last week while speaking at an international forum.
Criticizing the US’s conservative foreign policies in the Middle East and Syria, where Russia has taken an aggressive role in the country’s ongoing civil war, Putin told the Valdai International Discussion Club that America’s weaker approach would effectively “leave a nest of terrorists in place”.
“We keep hearing Aleppo, Aleppo, Aleppo,” he said, referring to persevering US concerns over the risk of civilian casualties in the Syrian city in case of military action against the Islamic State.
“But what is the issue here? Do we leave the nest of terrorists in place there, or do we squeeze them out, doing our best to minimize and avoid civilian casualties?” Putin asked.
He mocked American hesitation to act, saying sarcastically, “If it is better to not go in at all, then the offensive against Mosul shouldn’t go ahead at all either. Let’s just leave everything as it is.”

US-backed Iraqi forces are currently engaged in a battle against ISIS for control of the city of Mosul, the Islamic caliphate’s biggest asset in Iraq.
“Let’s leave Raqqa alone too,” the Russian leader suggested, referring to the ISIS’ de-facto capital in Syria.

A noted Kabbalist arrived at the office of the head of the Republican party in Israel this week with the express purpose of reassuring him that in heaven, the matter has already been decided: Donald Trump will be elected to serve as the next President of the United States.

Though Marc Zell, the chairman of Republicans Overseas Israel, is religious, he has limited knowledge of Kabbalah (mysticism), so he was very surprised when a noted kabbalist (mystic) contacted him last Sunday, saying he needed to speak to him concerning the upcoming elections in America.

The Palestinians must confront their “demons” over a Jewish state if they wish to achieve Palestinian statehood, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told visiting Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Jerusalem Wednesday.
“And I turned not only to Hamas, but to President Abbas, and I said, ‘Would you recognize a Jewish state, assuming we solve the settlement problem?’” Netanyahu said in his opening remarks with Mattarella, who met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas Tuesday.
“And they won’t, because the real settlement issue are the settlements of Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Haifa, Akko – the persistent refusal to recognize a Jewish state is at the boundary,” he said.

Black Church Torched and Graffitied With “Vote Trump” [VIDEO]

A century-old historically black church in Greenville, Mississippi was torched on Tuesday night and defaced with graffiti reading “Vote Trump” in what authorities have termed a hate crime.
A 911 call came in reporting the fire at the 111-year-old Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church around 9:15 on Tuesday evening. It took about an hour for firefighters to fully extinguish the flames and the damage from the “heinous, hateful, cowardly act” was extensive, said Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons.
“We consider it a hate crime…because of the political message which we believe was intended to interfere with worship and intimidate voters,” Simmons said, CNN reported. “This act is a direct assault on people’s right to freely worship.”
Indeed, an investigation by the local police and fire department led quickly to the conclusion that the fire had been set intentionally.
“Accidental was ruled out,” said Greenville Fire Chief Ruben Brown. So far, there are no suspects.

The FBI has opened a civil rights investigation into the fire and is now working to determine motive.
Mississippi governor Phil Bryant said in response to the crime, “First, anyone who burns a place of worship will answer to almighty God for this crime against people of faith. But they should also answer to man’s law.”
The church’s 200-member congregation is predominantly African American, in a town which is 78 percent black.
Many said the fire recalled “darker days” in Mississippi a half-century ago, when the battle over civil rights led to violence, arson, riots, and intimidation.

A bill which would require internet service providers to block access to pornographic websites by default and keep track of internet users who request access to the sites received preliminary backing by a Knesset panel on Sunday.
Customers would have to personally contact their internet providers, either in writing, by phone, or online, to have the block removed, resulting in the creation of lists of all internet users who have made the request to access porn sites.
Originally proposed by MK Shuli Moalem-Refaeli from the Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home) party, it was also sponsored by lawmakers from across the political spectrum, including MKs from Likud, Zionist Union, Yesh Atid, United Torah Judaism, and the Joint (Arab) List.
The only party which refused to support the bill was left-wing Meretz.

Exactly 175 years ago, an American non-Jew, under the direction of the founder of his church, climbed the Mount of Olives and offered an impassioned declaration and prayer proclaiming the Holy Land as the gathering place for the Jewish people.
This week, that act by Orson Hyde, an Elder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was commemorated in Jerusalem by a joint delegation of prominent American Jewish and Mormon leaders. They gathered to mark a new phase in strengthening ties and cooperation between the Jewish and LDS communities.
The idea for the commemoration, and the visit to Israel by leaders from both faiths, grew out of a friendship between two lawyers who met in New York City in 2003: former New York Attorney General Bob Abrams, a veteran Jewish community activist, and Elder James J. Hamula, of the Seventy, a leader of the Church.
In 2008, he invited Abrams and several other Jewish leaders to visit Church headquarters in Salt Lake City.
In the months preceding that visit, Abrams had lengthy, sensitive negotiations with Church officials, which led to a commitment to cease the proxy baptisms of Jewish Holocaust victims that had outraged many in the Jewish community.
Neither that contentious issue, nor the decades-old agreement that the Church would not carry out its missionary outreach program in Israel, were mentioned during Thursday’s ceremony. Instead, the focus was on the commonalities between the two faiths and highlighting Elder Hyde’s landmark act that predated the advent of political Zionism.

A Russian naval contingency led by the missile cruiser Pyotr Veliky has arrived in the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean, Russia’s Defense Minister General Sergey Shoigu said on Tuesday, according to a TASS report.
“Last week, our ship-borne air strike force led by the missile cruiser Pyotr Veliky made a passage through the eastern Atlantic into the Mediterranean Sea. On October 27-29, support vessels replenished the naval group with all types of supplies to the required level,” Shoigu said, noting that the fact that “certain countries” refused to let his ships dock in their ports did not hinder the mission.
“We were especially surprised by the position of certain countries which under the pressure of the US and NATO said in public they denied the request of our warships to call at their ports,” Shoigu said.

The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA) has slammed the “unserious response” by the University College London following an anti-Israel protest that turned violent last week.
“UCL seems more concerned with public relations than with protecting Jewish students’ rights of free speech,” Andrea Levin, CAMERA’s executive director, said in a statement. “It’s shameful.”
According to multiple reports, attendees at the Oct. 27 event, which was hosted by CAMERA on Campus, were forced to remain in the lecture room following a talk by Israeli activist and former IDF commander Hen Mazzig, as they waited for police to escort them through a crowd of about 100 demonstrators outside.
Video of the event showed the pro-Palestinian demonstrators coming through windows, screaming anti-Jewish slogans and shaving Jewish students. Additionally, police are also investigating reports by two female Jewish students who said they were assaulted.

In a statement a spokesman for UCL said that while the school does not “condone acts of intimidation or violence under any circumstances” it did not view the protests as violent.
“The freedom to debate and challenge views is fundamental to the nature of a university. We also acknowledge the right to peaceful protest. We regret protestors took measures to try to prevent the event from happening but stress that the protest was non-violent,” the UCL spokesman said.

Levin said that that UCL’s statement was an “unserious response” to the incident in which “the violence was denied, despite video footage that showed physical coercion.”
Levin also noted that UCL downplayed the extent of the mob attack, calling it a “small but noisy group of protestors.”
“It wasn’t small,” Levin said. “Scores can be seen on video. Police had to escort Jewish students through crowds of demonstrators, screaming for the destruction of the Jewish state.”
Furthermore, CAMERA is also calling on UCL to expel any students who broke into the event as well as shut down campus groups that were responsible for the violent protest.
“UCL needs to respond meaningfully, not just try to quell bad publicity,” Levin said. “Mob behavior mustn’t be tolerated on any campus.”

As the number of Christian Israeli Arabs enlisting in the Israel Defense Force rises, so does the risk of violent attacks against the soldiers by their Muslim neighbors, who see their desire to serve the Jewish State as traitorous to the Arab cause, the Jerusalem Post reported.
Israel’s total Christian Arab population is estimated at 127,300. Generally prosperous and well-educated, the community has thrived in Israel while it is heavily oppressed in many neighboring Arab states. But recently, Israeli Arab Christians have begun to fear an increasingly radicalized Muslim population. Many, intimidated by Arab threats and accusations of treachery, will not openly support the state.
However, there is a small but significant number of proudly pro-Israel Christian Arabs who are choosing to participate in national life, including one of its most significant institutions – the Israeli army.

In two separate sets of Bible Codes, published three months apart, international Bible Codes expert Rabbi Matityahu Glazerson found evidence that Donald J. Trump will win the upcoming US presidential election. What’s more, Trump’s predicted win appears to be connected to his support for Israel.
The first table was published on July 6, 2016. In this table, which comes from the Book of Deuteronomy, Rabbi Glazerson pointed to the word Donald, spelled in Hebrew letters, next to the word nasi, which is Hebrew for president. Clinton Mulling Pro-Israel Biden for Secretary of State

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s short list for her old job of Secretary of State starts with Vice President Joe Biden, according to Politico, citing a source close to the campaign, should she win the election in two weeks. Apparently, the campaign has not yet approached Biden with the proposal.

A six-term senator, Biden chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee before joining the Obama Ticket, and is considered an expert on the Middle East and on eastern Europe. He has been used by President Obama as his envoy to both regions. It has been noted that Clinton and Biden do not often agree on policy, Clinton being more inclined to intervene militarily, while Biden advocates a more reserved policy.

Biden would probably be the best Democratic selection from the point of view of Israel, and especially the Netanyahu Administration. He has had a rough and tumble relationship with AIPAC on occasion, but in 2008 described his relationship with the pro-Israel lobby: “I’ve never disagreed with AIPAC on the objective. Whenever I’ve had disagreement with AIPAC it has always been a tactical disagreement, not a substantive disagreement.” Following that statement, an AIPAC spokesman praised Biden’s leadership and stated: “We look forward to continuing to work with him in the Senate or in the White House.”

Like the bulk of the Democratic party, Biden supports a two-state solution. In 2009, he told an AIPAC conference that Israel “has to work towards a two-state solution” and “dismantle existing outposts and allow Palestinians freedom of movement.” He also called on the Palestinians to “combat terror and incitement against Israel.”

However, in 2007 he stated, when asked about the failure to achieve peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority: “Israel’s a democracy and they make mistakes. But the notion that somehow if Israel just did the right thing, [the peace process] would work … give me a break.” He also stated that “The responsibility rests on those who will not acknowledge the right of Israel to exist, will not play fair, will not deal, will not renounce terror.”

The 2007 Biden-Brownback Resolution on Iraq, passed by the Senate with a 75-23 majority, including 26 Republicans, called for federalizing Iraq with separate regions for Kurds, Shiites, and Sunnis. Iraq’s political leadership and the GW Bush Administration united in denouncing the resolution. In retrospect it appears that following it might have prevented the violent emergence of ISIS.

In 2008, Israel Army Radio cited an unnamed source that said Biden had told Israeli officials privately that Israel “will have to reconcile itself with the nuclearization of Iran.” A Biden spokesman stated that “this is a lie peddled by partisan opponents of Senators Obama and Biden and we will not tolerate anyone questioning Senator Biden’s 35-year record of standing up for the security of Israel. … [Biden views a nuclear Iran as a] grave threat to Israel and the United States.” Israeli officials said at the time that the story was “dubious.”

Finally, as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Sen. Biden called for “hard-headed diplomacy” with Iran. He also has called for the implementation of “coordinated international sanctions” on Iran, but called to ” complement this pressure by presenting a detailed, positive vision for U.S.-Iran relations if Iran does the right thing.” In that context, in 2007,

There are secret deals that Obama made with Iran that we already know about. There are secret deals that we suspect exist. And there are secret deals whose existence we are not even aware of.
Senator Obama opposed naming Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps a terror group even while it was closely involved in organizing attacks against American soldiers in Iraq. Then, as part of his dirty deal with Iran, he secretly sent a fortune in foreign cash on airplanes linked to the IRGC.

And, as another part of the secret ransom deal with Iran, he lifted UN sanctions on Bank Sepah.

The United States has gone after plenty of banks for aiding terror finance, but Bank Sepah is somewhat unique in that it is a financial institution actually owned and operated by Islamic terrorists.

Bank Sepah is an IRGC bank. The IRGC, despite Obama’s denials, is an Islamic terror group with American blood on its hands. It is to Shiite Islam what ISIS is to Sunni Islam. And even the Democrats know it.

After the Khobar Towers bombing, which killed 19 Americans, President Clinton sent a message to the leader of Iran warning that the United States had evidence of IRGC involvement in the attack.

More recently, Secretary of State John Kerry admitted that the IRGC have been “labeled as terrorists” when discussing how the Shiite terror organization will benefit from Obama’s sanctions relief.

Bank Sepah however had been sanctioned for something bigger than terrorism. The scale of bombings it was involved in could make the Khobar Towers attack seem minor. Sepah had been sanctioned for being “involved in nuclear or ballistic missile activities.”

Among other activities, it had helped Iran buy ballistic missile technology from North Korea.

Iran’s nuclear weapons program would only be halfway complete if it gets the bomb. It also needs missiles to be able to strike Israel, Europe and eventually America. That’s where North Korea and Bank Sepah come in. Bank Sepah helps keep Iran’s ballistic missile industry viable. By delisting it, Obama aided Iran’s ballistic missile program just as he had earlier aided its nuclear program.

In fact, however, the vote was simply one more deliberately-fashioned plank in the Arab platform for a One-State Solution, a structured plan wherein “Occupied Palestine” (i.e., Israel proper, not just Judea/Samaria) is systematically dismembered in increments.[2]

From the beginning, Israel has been presented on all Palestinian maps as “Occupied Palestine.” To be sure, this cartographic annihilation is not a literally tangible infringement of an existing state. It is, however, even as mere cartography, prohibited by authoritative international law.

From the plainly legal standpoints of the 1993 Oslo Agreements, and the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide, this calculated excision displays a conspicuously genocidal “intent,” and, ipso facto, “incitement.” In essence, therefore, it offers codified “testimony” to certain assorted and still-contemplated Palestinian crimes against humanity.

Deputy Minister Ayoob Kara caused a diplomatic incident last week after suggesting that the massive earthquakes which have recently rocked Italy were a divine punishment for the country’s failure to vote against the UNESCO decision denying Jewish ties to the Temple Mount. Backlash against his comments led to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) issuing an apology on Kara’s behalf, Ynet reported.

Kara, a Druze-Israeli politician who was in Italy on a diplomatic visit to the Vatican during one of the earthquakes, wrote in a memo following the tremors, “I’m sure that the earthquake happened because of the UNESCO decision, which the Pope strongly disagreed with. He even said publicly that the holy land is connected to the Nation of Israel.”
Pope Francis had issued a statement after the passing of a second UNESCO resolution, declaring that God had promised the Holy Land to the people of Israel.
Italy abstained from voting on the resolution, which essentially defines Jerusalem as a Muslim city with virtually no significance to Judaism or Christianity, despite thousands of years of recorded history, as well as archaeological proof, establishing the undeniable connection.
Its passing was dismissed by Israeli figures as absurd.

Italy has suffered at least three powerful earthquakes within the last week. On Sunday morning, a 6.6-magnitude quake struck near the center of the country, the latest in a series which has seen significant damage to infrastructure and historical sites in central Italy, including the medieval Basilica of St. Benedict, located in Norcia, believed to have been built over the site of the saint’s birth in the 5th century.
Kara’s conviction that Italy’s failure to vote against the resolution led to an immediate divine punishment in the form of earthquakes quickly spurred a reaction from the Israeli government, which distanced itself from the comments.

The MFA issued a strong statement condemning him, saying the remarks were “inappropriate” and calling on the ministry and Kara personally to apologize. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to meet with the minister to deal with the fallout from the incident.
This is not the first time divine intervention has been linked to natural or geological disasters following anti-Israel actions. Most recently, a Bible Codes video by Rabbi Matityahu Glazerson suggested that Hurricane Matthew, a powerful and deadly storm which claimed over 1,600 lives in Central America and the southeastern United States earlier in the month, was a punishment for American interference in Israel’s building policies in Judea and Samaria.

Verses in the Book of Isaiah describing in detail what can only be nuclear destruction are suddenly relevant as never before as the hell weapon’s capabilities come to light.

This week, Russia revealed that it had successfully tested the RS-28, a super-heavy thermonuclear armed intercontinental ballistic missile. Containing 16 warheads, the Satan 2 delivers a blast of 40 megatons, 2,000 times more powerful than the atom bomb that destroyed Hiroshima. It is capable of wiping out a landmass “the size of Texas or France,” according to a report by the Russian Sputnik news agency.

The delivery system has a range of over 6,000 miles at 4.3 miles per second, putting the East and West Coasts of the US within range. There are plans to incorporate Project 4202, a Russian hypersonic glider warhead carrier that can deliver the nuclear payload at an astonishing Mach 7, or over 5,300 MPH. It is doubtful that existing missile defense systems can cope with a threat travelling at such speeds.

Nuclear scenarios of the magnitude presented by this new weapon are hinted at in Biblical prophecy, most notably in Isaiah. His description of bomb shelters is clear.

And men shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of Hashem, and from the glory of His majesty, when He ariseth to shake mightily the earth. Isaiah  2:19

He describes total destruction that arrives in an unnaturally swift manner, similar to the instant, total chaos of a nuclear bomb’s detonation.

The prophet describes with disturbing accuracy nuclear winter, a period of abnormal cold and darkness following a nuclear war, caused by a layer of smoke and dust in the atmosphere blocking the sun’s rays.

The last chapter of Isaiah describes nuclear war in spiritual terms.

Rabbi Yosef Berger, rabbi of the Tomb of David on Mount Zion in Jerusalem, explained to Breaking Israel News that Isaiah was describing events that had no relevance in his time, and it is only becoming clear now what he was referring to. He gave another example.

“On the fifth day of Sukkot last week, we read in the special prayers, ‘A Hoshana (supplication) of three hours’. The Gaon of Vilna (the foremost Torah scholar of the 18th century) explained that this describes the war of Gog and Magog, which will take three hours to wreak its destruction, returning the world to tohu va’vohu (unformed and void),” Rabbi Berger explained.

“At the time he said this, this made no sense. Men did not have the ability to destroy the world, or attack distant enemies on a massive scale,” Rabbi Berger explained. “It was inconceivable that a war could be waged in three hours. The Gaon of Vilna was describing a situation that is only beginning to make sense now.”

“In the same way, Isaiah was using terms from his time to describe a situation which did not exist, but when we look at his words now, we can understand how they are absolutely timely and relevant,” said Rabbi Berger.

“Also, the motivations that would bring a country to create such a destructive weapon were inconceivable  just a few generations ago,” he continued. “All this is possible to understand through prophecy, which sees this as part of a bigger picture: as the will of God. All the things the prophets wrote about, we are only beginning to see now as the precursor to the Messiah.”

IDF General Warns Hamas, Terror Tunnel Deaths May Have Divine Origins
“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will make mention of the name of Hashem our God.” (Pslams 20:8)
IDF Major General Yoav Mordechai, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), warned Hamas on Wednesday that the recent spate of deadly tunnel collapses and “work accidents” might not be entirely accidental. Mordechai has hinted in the past that these incidents might have more divinely inspired causes.

Mordechai posted on his Facebook page in Arabic, which was translated by the Hebrew news site, NRG.

Since the summer of 2014, when Operation Protective Edge in Gaza ended, some 30 Palestinians were killed in activities related to tunneling. Some of them were killed when tunnels collapsed, some in ‘work accidents’, and the rest – God knows from what…The building of tunnels is an industry of death, labelled, ‘MADE IN GAZA”, calling out to the inhabitants of Gaza saying to them, ‘Hamas is using you to advance the interests of the organization’. You dig the tunnels for someone who doesn’t care about your lives, so the tunnels turn into tunnels of death. Anyone who comes close to the tunnels, by aiding them or digging them, brings down a judgement upon himself.
This is the second time this high-ranking IDF general has hinted at divine sources for Hamas woes. In February, he was interviewed by Palestinian Ma’an news about the growing danger of Hamas tunnels. After noting the epidemic of lethal collapses, the reporter asked him if this was due to an active IDF operation. Mordechai answered engmatically, “God knows.”

Papyrus With Oldest-Known Hebrew Reference to Jerusalem Proves City Jewish 1,300 Years Before Birth of Islam

A 2,700-year-old papyrus that is the oldest known non-Biblical Hebrew reference to Jerusalem has been found, announced the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) on Wednesday. The papyrus, originally stolen by antiquities thieves, was put on display in Jerusalem on Wednesday, coinciding with the second UNESCO resolution attempting to deny Judaism’s connection to its most holy city – a connection this ancient artifact so graphically proves.
The two lines of writing on the tiny scrap of papyrus (4.3 inches by 1 inch) are surprisingly clear: “From the king’s maidservant, from Naharta, jars of wine, to Jerusalem.”
The scroll was originally plundered from a cave in Nahal Hever in the Judean Desert near the Dead Sea by antiquities thieves. Professor Shmuel Ahituv of Ben-Gurion University studied the papyrus when it was first recovered. He spoke at the IAA press conference, noting that on the papyrus, the name of the city was spelled with a letter ‘yud’, as it is in modern Hebrew. Pronounced ‘Yerushalayim’, Ahituv noted that it is spelled this way only four times in the entire Bible.
Ahituv also noted that papyrus, made from the pith of the papyrus plant, was more expensive than the more common clay. The text specified a “female servant of the king” sending the wineskins to “Yerushalem”, suggesting the shipment was sent by a prominent woman to a person of high status in the capital.

A group of Republican senators sent a letter to President Barack Obama on Wednesday urging him to suspend the US’s diplomatic ties with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in light of its recent adoption of resolutions denying Judaism’s connection to Jerusalem.

“Because UNESCO continues to deviate from its founding mission and adopt one-sided, anti-Israel resolutions, it is time for the U.S. to stand with Israel and suspend our ties with UNESCO,” declared the letter, signed by Republican Senators Marco Rubio, Johnny Isakson, Mark Kirk and David Perdu.

The lawmakers said that UNESCO’s decisions render the organization “counterproductive” and went so far as to suggest the U.S. give up its member state status to the UN body, one of whose main purposes is “securing world cultural and national heritage” – a mission quite clearly mangled by inherent anti-Israel bias and Arab agendas at the UN.

“Recent UNESCO resolutions that deny Jewish and Christian ties to holy sites in Jerusalem not only reinforces the necessity of withholding American funding from this counterproductive UN organization, but also call into question future U.S. membership in UNESCO,” read the letter.

“Given that U.S. law already forbids American taxpayer money going to UNESCO, we urge your administration to join Israel in suspending ties to UNESCO.”
Israel cut its ties to the United Nations body earlier in the month after UNESCO passed a resolution which renamed the Temple Mount “Al-Aqṣa Mosque/Al-Ḥaram Al-Sharif” and essentially denied 3,000 years of Jewish history in Jerusalem by claiming that the city is of spiritual significance to Muslims only. It also referred to Israel as an “occupier”.
A second UNESCO resolution, with much the same message, was passed by the World Heritage Committee on Wednesday, precipitating the letter of protest.
The lawmakers offered a precedent for cutting ties, pointing out that the U.S. had done so in 1984 over “disparities between American foreign policy goals and UNESCO’s agenda”.

At that time, the U.S., followed by England, withdrew from UNESCO in protest over suspicions that the organization was being used as a platform for communism and anti-Western values.

The United States did not rejoin UNESCO until 2003.

Lone Israeli Soldiers Find a Home Away from Home

Choosing to leave one’s family, home, language and culture in order to join a foreign army to protect the Biblical homeland and people is a truly courageous and selfless act. Yet the Israel Defense Force (IDF) has thousands of recruits who have done just that.
“The State of Israel was built by the dedication of people from all over the world yearning to come back to the Holy Land, protect it and develop it,” Brigadier General Yehiel Gozal, CEO of Yahad-United for Israel’s Soldiers, told Breaking Israel News. “We are moved that young men and women continue to leave the comfort of their home countries and join the IDF.”

These young people, known as “lone soldiers” since they lack family in Israel, need a place that they can call home. Yahad-United for Israel’s Soldiers provides that home away from home by housing lone soldiers in private apartments or communal living facilities.

“Yahad is the only official organization supporting the IDF in Israel with 100 percent of every donation fully transferred to directly aid Israeli soldiers,” explained Gozal. “Ensuring that lone soldiers have a warm and welcoming place to live is one of our top priorities.”
Yahad sponsors 100 four-room apartments throughout the Holy Land, called “Bayit Ham” in Hebrew. Bayit Ham means “warm house”. These are for soldiers who prefer a quieter atmosphere and individual living space. Six hundred lone soldiers dwell in these apartments for the duration of their three years of service in the IDF.

Pope Francis declared that God promised the Holy Land to the people of Israel in a speech at the Vatican in Rome Wednesday.
“The people of Israel, who from Egypt, where they were enslaved, walked through the desert for 40 years until they reached the land promised by God,” Pope Francis said, the Jerusalem Post reported.
Francis made the statement shortly before meeting with Israeli Deputy Minister for Regional Cooperation Ayoub Kara, where he thanked him for his work on behalf of Christians in Israel.

The statement by the pontiff came just hours after UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee passed a resolution ignoring Jewish and Christian ties to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. The resolution, which was similar to a previous resolution passed Oct. 13 by the body’s Executive Committee, exclusively referred to the Temple Mount by its Muslim names.
While the Vatican has yet to make a formal statement on the UNESCO Jerusalem resolutions, Knesset speaker Yuli Edelstein wrote a letter to Cardinal Parolin saying the resolutions are “an assault on history and is deeply offensive to both Christianity and Judaism” urging the Vatican to “use its best offices to prevent the recurrence of developments of this sort.”

Iranian President Mocks US Election:

Iranian president Hassan Rouhani on Sunday mocked both major party presidential candidates in the US elections, criticizing their behavior during their recent debates. “Did you see the debate and the way of their speaking, accusing and mocking each other?” Rouhani asked an audience in the city of Arak, in a speech that was broadcast on national TV. He added contemptuously, “Do we want such a democracy in our country? Do we want such elections in our country?”
Iran’s own presidential election will take place in May 2017, and Rouhani is likely to run for a second term. Any Iranian citizen born in Iran, who believes in God and Islam, who has always been loyal to the Constitution and is above 21 years of age may register as a presidential candidate.

UNESCO Set to Vote Again on Whether Jerusalem is Jewish or Muslim

Following the passing of a contentious resolution denying any Jewish connection to the Temple Mount or Western Wall in Jerusalem, another body within the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) is set to vote on a similar statement declaring the sites holy to Muslims alone.
While Israeli officials and diplomats are working hard to convince member states on the World Heritage Committee (WHC) to redeem UNESCO’s credibility by voting against the blatant insult to the Bible, documented history, and scientific archaeology, the resolution is expected to pass easily after the success of its predecessor. The vote will be taken Wednesday.

Muslims Praying in Israeli Airport Synagogue Kick Up Religious Controversy [VIDEO]

A recent incident at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport nearly turned the terminal into a flashpoint of international conflict. On Sunday, five Muslims, travelers from Turkey on looking for a place to pray, entered the terminal’s synagogue and prostrated themselves towards Mecca, spreading out fringed prayer shawls to kneel upon in place of the traditional prayer rugs. While some reacted with anger  at the incident, perceiving it as desecration of Jewish prayer spaces and ritual objects, others saw it as a positive sign of coexistence.
The incident occurred when a Turkish Muslim family found themselves in Israel’s airport during the ascribed time for one of their five daily prayers.The airport does not have a mosque, so the family entered the terminal’s synagogue in order to pray.

Dennis Wenzel, a pastor at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Indiana, became interested in Torah when he returned to seminary in 1979. His wife, who worked as a secretary at a Jewish synagogue, introduced Wenzel to the congregation’s rabbi. A friendship grew and the two spiritual leaders began to read and comment on each others’ sermons.

Second UNESCO Resolution Passes Proclaiming Jerusalem Muslim City,
Temple Mount Islamic Site
“For the sake of the house of Hashem our God I will seek thy good.” (Psalms 122:9)
A second resolution by the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) denying any and all connections between the city of Jerusalem and the Jewish religion or people passed on Wednesday morning, though not by a large majority.
With ten votes in favor, two against, and eight abstentions, the 21-member World Heritage Committee did not produce a consensus vote, which would have had the appearance of a unanimous decision, as the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Jordan had hoped, but a secret ballot, allowing each member state to vote individually.
The PA partnered with Jordan to send threatening letters to each member-state on Tuesday, essentially saying that if the resolution did not pass, the Arab contingency would submit even harsher anti-Israel texts.

In a not-so-subtle response to the recent UNESCO resolutions denying all connection between Jerusalem and the Jewish people, record-breaking numbers of Jews ascended to the Temple Mount over the three-week holiday period encompassing Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot – and in an incredible reversal of the usual status quo, some were even allowed to pray there, Haaretz reported.
While the number of non-Muslim visitors permitted on the Temple Mount is usually restricted, a relatively quiet holiday season allowed for record numbers of Jewish visitors to ascend and, marking a small but significant shift in enforced policy, to discreetly pray at the site, which is considered the holiest in Judaism. All told, over 3,000 Jews, many of them religious, visited the Mount over the holiday period.
“Jewish visitors reported a certain relaxation of the restrictions on prayer and religious rituals in the compound,” said Haaretz of the holiday visits. “For example, police did not interrupt anyone who was praying quietly on their own.”

The earliest-known stone inscription of the Ten Commandments will be offered November 16, 2016 by Heritage Auctions in the Living Torah Museum Auction in Beverly Hills, California, Art Daily reported Tuesday. The tablet is the centerpiece of an offering of Bible-related historical artifacts, researched and authenticated, property of the Living Torah Museum in Brooklyn, NY. The opening bid on the Ten Commandments is $250,000.
David Michaels, Director of Antiquities for Heritage Auctions, suggested “there is nothing more fundamental to our shared heritage than the Ten Commandments.” The two-foot-square marble slab, inscribed in early Hebrew script, probably came from a synagogue destroyed by the Romans between 400 and 600 CE, or by the Crusaders in the 11th century, according to Michaels.

ime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday castigated human rights groups for remaining silent amid reports that four Palestinians who met with Jewish settlers as a holiday goodwill gesture have been placed under arrest by Palestinian police.

The four men were arrested Thursday after they joined several dozen other Palestinians living near Efrat in visiting a sukkah in the settlement, along with about 30 Jewish Israelis, as part of a peace event. Four days later, the four are believed to still be in custody.

Netanyahu, in a Facebook post Sunday, noted that according to senior PA officials, they will be sentenced and jailed for the crime of “normalization with Israel.”

“Where is the outrage of human rights organizations? There is none. To their great shame, they are silent,” he wrote.

But the premier claimed that this silence was “neither new nor surprising” and was part of a pattern that ignores Palestinian transgressions while singling out Israel.

“These organizations are silent when the Palestinian leadership pays salaries to the families of terrorists, glorifies murderers and calls streets and city centers after them,” he said. “These organizations prove again and again that they are not actually interested in human rights, but only in shaming Israel and libeling it around the world.”

He urged the international community to press for the men’s release.

A senior Palestinian security official said Sunday that “any Palestinian cooperation with settlers is viewed as violating the law, as he cooperates with the enemy.” He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not permitted to discuss the matter.

It is a Jewish tradition to host friends and associates in the temporary structures that are used during Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles) to recall the structures erected in the desert by the Israelites during their exodus from Egypt.

The mayor of Efrat, Oded Revivi, has also called for the men’s release, saying: “It is absurd that having coffee with Jews is considered a crime by the Palestinian Authority.

“Initiatives that seek to foster cooperation and peace between people should be encouraged, not silenced,” he said.

After images of the Palestinians at the event circulated on social media, the four were summoned by Palestinian intelligence and asked about their meeting with “the murderers of babies” — a possible reference to an accident six weeks ago in which an Efrat resident ran over and killed a six-year-old Palestinian girl. The girl’s parents were also at the sukkah gathering, Channel 2 News said.

Netanyahu’s post comes just days after a UN Security Council session in which the chairman of human rights group B’Tselem, Hagai El-Ad, criticized the Israeli government for its West Bank policies. Netanyahu later called El-Ad’s organization shoddy and unhinged, and vowed to bar national service volunteers from working with the organization.

Coalition Chairman David Bitan later called to strip El-Ad of his citizenship, and said he would seek a bill to limit Israeli speech at international forums, though his propositions received blowback even from his own party members.

Genesis, Gematria Reveal Deep Hebrew Significance of Man

What does the Hebrew alphabet have to do with the creation of Man? If one considers the words of the Torah, it becomes amazingly clear that the two are deeply entwined and, indeed, inseparable.

On the sixth day of creation, God made man.

And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. (Genesis 1:27)

The first man is called Adom (אָדָם). Why did God choose to call man this?

“In Judaism, the sages teach that God first created the Hebrew alphabet and then used those letters to create the world,” explained Roni Segal, the academic adviser for eTeacher, an online language academy specializing in the Hebrew language, to Breaking Israel News. “Knowing the depths of each Hebrew letter gives insights into understanding a bit of God’s plan for the world as well as the purpose of man’s existence.”

For example, Adom is made up of the Hebrew letter aleph, which always represents God, and then “dom”. “Dom” דם in Hebrew means blood. The Bible states:

Then Hashem God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7)

When God breathed life into man, He placed a bit of Himself, so to speak, into the blood of every human being to teach that man is meant to be God-like, sages teach.

“Hebrew numerology, called gematria, brings even deeper understanding to the purpose of man,” continued Segal. “The value of dom, blood, is 44. A person’s blood is formed through the blending of his mother and father. In Hebrew, mother is eem, which equals 41 in gematria and father is av, which equals 3 in gematria.

“The total value of mother and father is 44, the same as the value of the blood they create together.”

Segal went on to explain that human beings are meant to be both spiritual and physical as they live out their lives in this world. Should a person only want to connect to their spirituality through their aleph Godliness or only want to connect to their blood physicality, they are not fulfilling God’s desire for man. A person must live fully in the physical world while bringing spirituality into their lives through Godly acts in their day to day lives.

Segal then showed that through understanding Hebrew, it becomes even clearer that man was not created to live life like an animal. “The Hebrew word for animal is beh-hay-mah, בְּהֵמָה. Beh means ‘in it is’ and mah means ‘what it is’. We understand from this that an animal is just an animal. It is what it is.

“This is totally different than man who has a Godly soul and therefore infinite potential. Man is meant to take what ever gifts God granted him and become greater each day. That is certainly not the expectation for an animal.”

Another way to achieve deeper understanding of a Hebrew word is through rearranging the letters of the word. When the Hebrew letters for Adom אָדָם are rearranged, they spell mah-ohd מְאֹד, which means “more”. Man is meant to become more each day through refining his character and actions.

Returning to Genesis 2:7, God created man from the ground, which, in Hebrew, is ah-dah-mah, אֲדָמָה. Aleph represents God. The next three letters, דמה, makes up the word doh-may and means “resemble” or “similar”. By creating man from earth, with these Hebrew letters, God is teaching us that we can choose how we will live our lives. Human beings can resemble God through performing good deeds or be like the lowliest dirt that has no intrinsic value except for what people create out of it.

“Hebrew is a fascinating and fun language to study,” expressed Segal to Breaking Israel News. “If someone ever questioned what they were created for, the answer is revealed through Hebrew. Studying the Bible in the Holy language brings a depth of understanding which cannot be reached in any other language.”

End Times Expert: This Sukkot is Transition Period Before Messianic Era

While most understand the sukkah, the temporary booth Jews build on the holiday of Sukkot, to be a physical manifestation of spirituality, End Times expert Rabbi Pinchas Winston revealed in a recent interview that the sukkah is actually deeply connected to the coming of the Messianic age, helping Jews to prepare spiritually for what is to come. This Sukkot, which  began last Sunday, the message is clearer than ever as the chaotic “birthpangs” of Messiah become visible to the world.

Rabbi Winston spoke about the connection between the End of Days and the holiday of Sukkot, which is currently being observed in Israel, in an interview with Tamar Yonah of Israel News Talk Radio.

This relationship between the sukkah and the body makes it possible to prepare for the Messianic Age, taught Rabbi Pinchas in the interview. The fact that the sukkah is so temporary, lasting only the seven days of the festival holiday (eight days outside of Israel), has hidden spiritual messages. Rabbi Winston explained, “Don’t forget, in the upcoming year, or the rest of your life for that matter, that this world is temporary. Just like you existed before the sukkah went up and you will exist after the sukkah comes down, so will your soul.”

Rabbi Winston spoke about how the Jewish mystical tradition divides time into three periods: Olam HaZeh (this world), the Messianic Era and Olam haBa (the world to come).

He explained that the transition between Olam haZeh and the Messianic Era is called Chevlei Moshiach (the birthpangs of the Messiah) and is characterized by chaos. We are currently in this transition period, which explains the apparent chaos in the world right now. Rabbi Winston mentioned the current US Presidential election as an example of the chaos that marks this transition.

Rabbi Winston taught that, according to the mystical understanding, the underlying purpose of the chaos is “to polarize the world, to force people to make a decision whether they are more spiritual or more physical. What’s their biggest priority?”

The cut-off point for choosing a spiritual existence over a primarily physical one is the war of Gog and Magog. “Who survives and who doesn’t survive, according to the Zohar (the foundational text of Jewish mysticism), will be based upon the choice the person made prior to the actual event itself,” he stated.

This choice is what Rabbi Winston calls “the final test of history”. He reminds us that whatever is coming, whether it’s Nibiru, nuclear war, Gog and Magog or another end times scenario, it will be “massive” and Divine protection will be required to survive it all. This idea of Divine protection connects Sukkot to the End of Days, the rabbi explained.

According to traditional Jewish thought, the temporary booths we build during Sukkot are a symbol of the ananei hakavod (the Divine Clouds of Glory) with which God protected the Israelites against all the dangers in the desert.

The Mekhilta, an ancient commentary on the Book of Exodus, teaches that there were seven clouds. Four surrounded the Israelites on each side, protecting them from Egyptian enemies and animal predators. A fifth cloud was above them, protecting them from the blazing sun.  A sixth cloud was below their feet, which made walking across the rough surface of the desert possible. The seventh cloud passed in front of them, miraculously “leveling the valleys and flattening the mountains.”

According to Rabbi Winston, just as God took care of the Israelites completely in the desert, so He will care of us in the End of Days, if we are willing to rely on Him completely. Thus, dwelling in the sukkah represents reliance on Divine protection and complete trust in God, a quality that will be crucial for surviving the End of Days.

From Yemen To Turtle Bay

Off the coast of Yemen and at the UN Security Council we are seeing the strategic endgame of Barack Obama’s administration. And it isn’t pretty.

Since Sunday, Iran’s Houthi proxies in Yemen have attacked US naval craft three times in the Bab al Mandab, the narrow straits at the mouth of the Red Sea. The Bab al Mandab controls maritime traffic in the Red Sea, and ultimately control the Suez Canal.

Whether the Iranians directed these assaults or simply greenlighted them is really beside the point. The point is that these are Iranian strikes on the US. The Houthis would never have exposed themselves to US military retaliation if they hadn’t been ordered to do so by their Iranian overlords.

The question is why has Iran chosen to open up an assault on the US?

The simple answer is that Iran has challenged US power at the mouth of the Red Sea because it believes that doing so advances its strategic aims in the region.

Iran’s game is clear enough. It wishes to replace the US as the regional hegemon, at the US’s expense.

Since Obama entered office nearly eight years ago, Iran’s record in advancing its aims has been of uninterrupted success.

Iran used the US withdrawal from Iraq as a means to exert its full control over the Iraqi government. It has used Obama’s strategic vertigo in Syria as a means to exert full control over the Assad regime and undertake the demographic transformation of Syria from a Sunni majority state to a Shiite plurality state.

In both cases, rather than oppose Iran’s power grabs, the Obama administration has welcomed them. As far as Obama is concerned, Iran is a partner, not an adversary.

I’m Pro-Israel, Anti-Obama, and Voting for Hillary

Momentous national votes have been rather unpredictable in 2016, as Brexit and the rejected Colombia-FARC peace deal have demonstrated. So, those genuinely alarmed by the prospect of a Trump presidency must work relentlessly for his defeat until Election Day.

I am a proud independent who has voted for both Democrats and Republicans. I have published numerous articles excoriating President Obama for his disastrous foreign policy (on Syria, Iran, Israel, etc.) and his domestic scandals.

Thus, I was planning to vote for a qualified Republican in the 2016 presidential election. Unfortunately, Donald Trump is neither qualified nor Republican.

Even if one of the “alternative” candidates looked remotely appealing (here’s why they don’t), a vote for any third-party candidate has historically been a wasted vote. Even Teddy Roosevelt, the most successful third-party candidate in US history, won only 88 Electoral votes and 27% of the popular vote on behalf of the Progressive Party of the United States, but still went on to lose the 1912 elections to Woodrow Wilson (a Democrat).

That’s precisely why Michael Bloomberg, the self-made billionaire and former three-term mayor of New York, ultimately decided not to run as a third-party candidate last March. Bloomberg’s willingness to subordinate his political ambitions to the greater good (in this case, ensuring that Trump loses) only enhances his integrity, which will hopefully continue to serve the public.

Given the binary Trump-Clinton choice at hand, many voters are still understandably tepid about supporting Hillary Clinton. She is too close to Obama’s policy failures and has been clouded by many scandals, dating back to at least 1993. Israel supporters rightly worry about her entourage of anti-Israel advisers.

What’s a Conservative to Do? Vote for Pence

The disgraceful presidential candidates coughed up by America’s two great political parties, each one repulsive in his or her distinctive way, leaves many conservatives in a dilemma. We cannot vote for either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. Nor, try as we might, do we warm to Gary Johnson’s Libertarian Party.
What to do? Here’s my solution:
Should Trump again beat the bookmakers and pull off a victory on Nov. 8, two things are likely: First, he will not metamorphose into a “presidential” president but will, justifiably, conclude that winning the presidency endorsed his personality, style, and policies. Accordingly, he will continue unabated with his boorish, amateurish, rude, and narcissistic ways. Expect Trump to be more Trumpian than ever.
Expect him to treat the U.S. government as his personal property, as a grander version of the Trump Organization. He will disdain precedent and customs while challenging laws and authority. He will treat senators, justices, generals, and governors as personal staff who must fulfill his wishes – or else. He will challenge the separation of powers as never before.

I was thinking of this recently while re-reading Bill Koenig’s famous book, Eye to Eye, in which it is documented that whenever U.S. policy harmed Israel, something bad happened to the U.S.
With Tim Kaine touting the Iran deal during his debate with Mike Pence, the worst outcome of Obama’s tenure is in the news again.
Supporters of the deal, including the lifelong leftwing John Kerry, claim that it basically freezes Iran’s efforts to build nukes for a decade. Then, the terror state will ostensibly use uranium for power plants.

Russian Fleet Sails for Final Blowout in Syria, Increasing Tensions With US

Against a backdrop of increasing tension with the US, the Russian fleet passed through the English Channel on Friday en route to Syria in the country’s largest surface deployment since the end of the Cold War. The British Royal Navy is “man marking” the Russian fleet as it passes their shores, keeping a distance of about five miles in order to monitor it.

According to Western intelligence reports, Russian is sending its entire Northern Fleet and part of its Baltic Fleet, a total of eight warships including one aircraft carrier. The armada is sailing to the Mediterranean to reinforce the Russian military presence in Syria.

A senior NATO diplomat told the Telegraph, a major British news service, that the deployment was part of a renewed Russian attack in Aleppo.

“They are deploying all of the Northern Fleet and much of the Baltic Fleet in the largest surface deployment since the end of the Cold War,” the diplomat said.

“This is not a friendly port call. In two weeks, we will see a crescendo of air attacks on Aleppo as part of Russia’s strategy to declare victory there.”

Russia and the United States are at odds in Syria, with Russia supporting Syrian President Bashar Assad and the US supporting anti-Assad rebels. Both countries have a military presence in the region, though Russia has a more substantial military commitment including advanced anti-air sysytems. Confrontations have already come close to sparking a multi-national conflict. In November, Turkey, a NATO member and American ally, shot down a Russian bomber over Syria, killing the Russian pilot and a rescue serviceman. War was averted through diplomatic negotiations. Russia initiated severe economic sanctions.

Friction between the two super-powers is growing on the home-front as well. Last Friday, Vice President Joe Biden US Vice President Joe Biden threatened Russia with a cyber-attack in a Meet the Press televised interview.

“We’re sending a message,” Biden warned. “We have the capacity to do it. It will be at the time of our choosing, and under the circumstances that will have the greatest impact.”

The vice-presidential threat comes as a result of claims  Russian  interfered with the American elections by launching cyber-attacks and hacking more than 100 Democratic Party officials and groups.

Russia is taking the cyber-threat seriously. Sergei Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the US, told SCMagazineUK , an online news service for computer security professionals, that the US government has not yet provided proof that the cyber-attacks on the Democratic National Convention was perpetrated by Russia. Yuri Ushakov, the Russian presidential aide, told SCMagazineUK that Russia has already begun designing protective measures.

On Wednesday, the third intermediate day of the week-long holiday of Sukkot, Kohanim (Jews of the priestly caste) dressed in ceremonial garb and using utensils created especially for use in the Third Temple, led the third annual reenactment of the joyous water libation ceremony that was once part of the Temple service.

In Temple times, a libation of water was made together with the pouring out of wine at the morning service on the last six days of the week-long Sukkot holiday. Kohanim descended from the Temple to the Shiloach Spring at the base of the Mount Moriah, where they filled the flask with three log of spring water (approximately two pints) and returned to the Temple.

Two Kohanim then ascended the stone altar in the Temple’s inner courtyard, placing two silver cups on the southwestern corner. One Kohen poured the water from the silver flask while the second Kohen simultaneously poured wine from the second cup, both liquids flowing into holes in the altar specially prepared for this ceremony.

Willow branches were arranged in the four corners of the altar. The entire ceremony was accompanied by blasts from silver trumpets.

This year, the reenactment commenced at the Tower of David Visitors’ Center and the Kohanim, accompanied by a large crowd of festive onlookers, descended by foot to the Shiloah Spring in a valley at the base of the Temple Mount, filling the silver flask created by the Temple Institute for use in the Third Temple.

The Kohanim then ascended to the Hurva Synagogue in the Old City of Jerusalem, lead by Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, director of the Temple Institute.

Though not explicitly mandated in the Torah, the water libation is part of the oral tradition passed down from Moses. Sukkot is a joyous holiday and the water libation was the focal point of this joy. In the Temple, the ceremony would take fifteen hours with accompanying celebrations lasting all night until the Temple service began again the next morning. In the same spirit, Wednesday’s reenactment was followed by music and dancing.

In a powerful display of the glory that once was the Jewish Temple, tens of thousands of Jews gathered at the Western Wall, also known as the Kotel, in Jerusalem on Wednesday to be blessed by hundreds of Kohanim (Jewish men from the priestly caste). This biannual event recreates a mitzvah (Torah commandment) as it was once performed in the Temple.

Exciting evidence of the breaching of the third wall that surrounded Jerusalem at the end of the Second Temple period was uncovered last winter in the Russian Compound at the city center. The discovery was made in an archaeological excavation the Israel Antiquities Authority conducted in the location where the new campus of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design is slated to be built. In the course of the excavation, archaeologists discovered the remains of a tower jutting from the city wall. Opposite the tower’s western facade were scores of ballista and sling stones that the Romans had fired from catapults at the Jewish guards who were stationed at the top of the tower.

According to Dr. Rina Avner and Kfir Arbib, excavation directors on behalf of the IAA, “This is a fascinating testimony of the intensive bombardment by the Roman army, led by Titus, on their way to conquering the city and destroying the Second Temple. The bombardment was intended to attack the sentries guarding the wall and provide cover for the Roman forces so they could approach the wall with battering rams and thereby breach the city’s defenses.”
