The End of the "Church" As We Know It...

Most people think of the Book of Revelation as "the end of the world as we know it."

But that's only partially correct.

As I was praying this morning I realized that it's also...

"The End of the 'CHURCH' As We Know It!"

That's because the first three chapters of the Book of Revelation deals with God's judgment on the saints - not the sinners!

"Church as we know it" is currently a mixture of wheat and weeds... sheep and goats... faithful and unfaithful... fruitful and unfruitful...

Organization vs. Organism.

Religion vs. Relationship.

And it's been that way for the last 2000 years.

We wink at it and compromise with it and want to be peaceful and loving and accepting and non-judgmental. 

Then JESUS HIMSELF is revealed in the midst of all this mixture, and begins to separate sheep from goats.

He warns us to repent, go back to our first love, be fruitful and be faithful.

The ones who Overcome get the reward.

The ones who don't - the hypocrites, the religious, the fair-weather fake "believers" - suffer tremendous loss.

The point is that not all who say "Lord, Lord" will enter the Kingdom or live in New Jerusalem or eat of the Tree of Life or miss the white throne judgment or avoid the lake of fire.

Finally - at last - the Lord reveals which ones belong to Him and which ones are faking it, hoping to make it.

His message is: "There is still time, if you repent - but if you don't, you have been warned."

Obviously this is not the same Jesus being preached about in the Institutional Church.

The Book of Revelation is concerned with Christ AS HE IS and not how we imagine Him to be.

And when He is finally revealed, it will be the end of "Church" as we know it.

The Lord of the Work

There is a pressing need in the Body of Christ to distinguish and discern the difference between the Lord of the Work and the work of the Lord. 


How easy it is to confuse these two things and treat them as one and the same. Yet the difference before God is quite vast.

This difference was revealed to me several years ago. I was conducting some meetings in Texas and attended a ministerial luncheon consisting of local pastors. My presence as a visitor was acknowledged and I was invited to stand and “share a few words.” What would I say to these pastors?

The Lord had already prepared my heart with a special word just for them. I said...

PROOF:
Carnal Christians Won't Make It to Heaven!

Does that statement shock you? Surprise you? Or just confirm what you already know to be true?

Well, do you believe the Bible?

Everyone doesn't.

I do.

And for years I've been harping about "Relationship, Not Religion."

Still, some can't tell the difference.

Well, the next two chapters of the Book of Revelation (2 and 3) will make it very clear to you.

Knowing the difference between RELATIONSHIP and RELIGION is the difference between life and death in these Last Days.

And yet, no one is talking about it!

They just lightly breeze over these two chapters and ignore all the warnings - I guess because they are so anxious to get on with the exciting chapters where all the sinners get judged.

They automatically assume that all believers are "raptured" and then go to the New Jerusalem and live happily ever after.

"They do err" because they don't know the Scriptures - especially Revelation chapters 2 and 3.

The results of my own study have been shocking and eye-opening.

Only faithful, fruitful believers will be rewarded!

Careless, carnal Christians are going to be in for a rude awakening when they find themselves on the outside, looking in.

Find that hard to believe?

The Purpose of All Ministry

If we wish to evaluate someone who claims to be an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher, we can apply this simple test: Is this person centered on Jesus Christ?


And when they do whatever it is that they do (preach, teach, prophesy, sing, plant churches, etc.), does it bring people into a deeper, more experiential knowing of Him?

some may think that kind of test is too severe. Why, if we applied this criteria to every minister and ministry in the world (they say) then we would probably disqualify a majority of workers and works that are doing the Church and mankind a great service. 


Yes, we probably would. Yet in terms of value to the Kingdom of God, if the work is not Christ-centered and does nothing to bring people into a mature relationship with Him then it has no value to God and is worthless in His sight. If we are not preaching Christ then we are preaching something or someone else; and if we are not bringing people into the depths of Jesus with our life and work then we are either leaving them as they are or leaving them worse than when we found them. We become a distraction and a hindrance to the spiritual growth of others...

Hey Elaine,

In our teaching series though the Book of Revelation I've mentioned how people get confused when they study this book.

I think a lot of it has to do with how the book is usually taught.

A lot of teachers will jump right into the chapter-by-chapter study without much of an introduction or context.

I used to do that, too.

But now I think that approach only adds to the confusion - it's like dropping people off in a strange country at night with no map and expecting them to find their way home.

A MAP helps you figure out where you came from, where you are, and where you're going.

And you really need a MAP for navigating the twists and turns of the Book of Revelation.

Hey Elaine,

Imagine a large, wooden, locked door.

Behind the door is a room full of treasure.

To get the treasure, all you need is the key to unlock the door.

The problem is: everyone has their own set of keys.

Everyone claims they have the "right" key.

And you try them all, but none of those keys work.

That's the way a lot of people approach the Book of Revelation.

I knew that once I announced this study I would attract people looking for me to confirm that their "keys" are right.

They expect me to talk about blood moons, red heifers, Third Temples, Israel, Planet X, alien invaders, the true identity of the Antichrist, and how everything they see on the news has a chapter and verse in the Book of Revelation.

That is the furthest thing from my mind.

For me to talk about all THAT means I would have to watch Christian television and follow all the Bible prophecy teachers around, lapping up whatever pabulum they regurgitate.

I don't take my cues from what everyone else says.

I don't subscribe to any prophecy lists or discussion groups.

So let me tell you my method of approaching the Book of Revelation - which is the same basic approach I have taken toward every other book of the Bible I have ever taught over the last 30 years...

1. I pray.

2. I study.

3. I write down what God shows me.

4. I share it with people as simply as possible. :-)

I'm sorry if that's not glamourous enough but I'm not trying to impress anyone or create a lot of hype or hysteria.

HOWEVER, I will say this...

What I will share in this series is new - some elements I have not heard anyone else talk about, including me.

At least, out of all the things I have heard about Revelation (back in the day, when I used to listen to all those preachers on television), I haven't heard ANYONE talking about the things I'm going to talk about.

Things so important that I have already made notes about it - so that, just in case I get hit by the proverbial bus tomorrow, someone can publish those notes.

It's that important.

But, assuming the Lord allows such things to be disclosed, I envision a series of classes over several months, as this is not going to be a sprint but a marathon.

Simple, but very, very thorough in the things that MATTER - without getting lost in the minutia of popular opinions that don't.

Well, the whole thing kicks off online this Thursday, June 8, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern with the introduction, where I will reveal THE MASTER KEY to the Book of Revelation.

Be of Good Cheer!

We live in a stressful world. All of us have difficulties, problems, challenges, and needs.

In spite of this, I have seen people overcome incredible odds and rise up over seemingly insurmountable challenges: the death of a loved one, or the loss of a business, or the failure of a marriage, or a decline in their health. They somehow get through it, pick up the pieces, and inspire others with their joy and determination.

I have seen other people have a complete breakdown over the very same things.

So I have come to realize that life is only 10% what happens to you and 90% how you choose to respond to what happens.  One man’s circumstances cause him to bless God, while another man’s identical circumstances cause him to curse God.  One man loses his job and goes into depression; another man loses his job and starts his own business. Stress affects different people in different ways.  But why is this?

The Gift of Christ

I am afraid that we do not truly appreciate the fact that God has never given us things, but has summed up everything into Christ, having poured Himself into His Son.

Having the Son, possessing the Son, being one with the Son, we have and possess everything God is. It never has been a question of seeking ten, one hundred, or one thousand different things from God. If we do not know from our experience, we should at least know from the Scriptures, that Christ is the Gift of God. Then our experience will come into line with God’s Thought. 

If you are used to seeking spiritual “things” (love, joy, peace, anointing, power, blessing, etc.) then this message is particularly for you, but we all stand to benefit from being reminded constantly that Christ is God’s One Gift.

Hello Elaine,

As we draw near to the second coming of Christ there is a prophetic urgency that brings both the same promise and the same meaning that John the Baptist did when he says that the axe is laid to the root of the tree. He is coming to thoroughly purge His threshing floor. He’s going to separate wheat from chaff. 

Also, in Malachi it talks about how, “He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them as gold and silver are refined.” He’s going to separate the dross from the pure. Separate sheep from goats, foolish from wise.

Well, it happened once; and I believe it’s going to happen again, and it is happening, as God raises up the same spirit and power of Elijah here in these last days: to warn God’s people to come out of her so that they don’t suffer the same judgment.

My Mother and My Brothers

Certainly not everyone who says, “Lord! Lord!” will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. In similar manner, not everyone who says, “Brother! Brother!” is really a brother. 

Yet learning how to be a good brother or a good sister is the first thing Jesus wants to teach us. When we are born into this Family that is all we are – a brother or a sister. Every apostolic, prophetic, evangelistic, pastoral, or teaching ministry must have, as its foundation, the spiritual depth and maturity of knowing how to “just” be a brother or sister. We skip this necessary preparation at our own peril, and the Family of God suffers as a result...

Trust in My Life

Trying to imitate Christ is the path of frustration and despair. Let me say undeniably that you will never meet a Man like Jesus. Try for a million years and you can never duplicate His personality!

Your best attempt to “be more like Jesus” is as feeble as trying to grow a plant out of a concrete rock. Only a proud, ignorant person thinks they can even come close to being like Jesus.

No, the answer is, “It is no longer I that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me, and the life that I live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God.” I live, yet not I but Christ. It is not Jesus reproduced in me, it is Jesus instead of me. It is not my life, my work, my effort at holiness. It is Christ my Wisdom, Righteousness, Sanctification, and Redemption.

As I learn to trust His Life for the small things, I am finding the larger things to be less large...

During the "four hundred silent years" before Jesus, in the absence of spiritual leadership and in the absence of a prophetic voice to keep them faithful to God's purpose, the Jews created a religious system so dead that they did not even recognize the Messiah when He arrived. Christians have spent five times as long to build their own religious system; in the process we have become just as blind to Jesus as the Jews were.
