Hi Elaine,
 
Thank you for your well-wishes and prayers for me last week; I really appreciate it!
 
Controversy and conflict are part of the spiritual life.
 
I'm starting a new online teaching series this week to explore how (and why) God uses controversy and conflict to push His Christ-centered Kingdom agenda forward.
 
The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform, and is performing, His perfect will.
 
Yet we know there is a great deal of resistance to that Will.
 
This resistance creates controversy and conflict... and if you aren't experiencing that in your own life then you probably aren't growing!
 
The Scriptural record of Paul's life is an excellent place to see this, and it reveals so much that is relevant to us today.
 
We often think of the apostles - indeed, most people in the Bible - as super-spiritual saints who walked around in the clouds all the time.
 
The truth is: they were human beings, men and women, flesh and blood, ordinary people doing extraordinary things while struggling with their own unique sets of problems and challenges.
 
What makes people like Paul so interesting and special is not the absence of controversy and conflict in their lives, but how they managed to overcome it and prevail in spite of it for something spiritual and heavenly here on the earth.

Hi Elaine!
You were created to love Him, and to be loved by Him. But too many times, the work of the Lord becomes more important than the Lord of the work.
 
Like Martha, you become troubled with “much serving”, and you miss the blessing Mary has discovered by sitting at the feet of Jesus. Ministry to people is important, but it isn’t the most important thing. We know all about ministering to one another – preaching, teaching, singing, conducting evangelistic crusades and sending missionaries. All these things are needed, but learning how to minister to the Lord is the most important ministry of all because this is the basis for every other kind of ministry. Sadly, few people know how to do this. Therefore, ministry to the Lord is on the verge of becoming extinct.

The Father is seeking those who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Jesus stands at the door and knocks, waiting for a lukewarm Church to open up to Him. He is looking for men and women who are not after the things He has or the things He does, but are after His very heart. The question is: has He found what He is looking for in us?

In this series, we discuss what it means to meet the Lord’s Need and we introduce the concept of reaching up, reaching in, and reaching out. We talk about the difference between ministering for the Lord and ministering to the Lord. We show you how to enter into the Holy of Holies and experience the fellowship, communion, and relationship with God that He wants each of us to enjoy. And, we give you some practical advice for establishing a place where the Lord’s Need is met – first in your own heart and then in your small group, church, or fellowship.

The Lord is looking for people to whom He can reveal Himself, share His secrets, and make known the mystery of His ways. But there is no revelation without a relationship. Ministering To The Lord will encourage you to go beyond the veil and spend more time sitting at His feet in the Secret Place of the Most High God, where you learn how to be a friend He can confide in.

Hi Elaine,
 
I always say that when Jesus revealed Himself to me, it was the beginning of the end of my career as a preacher for Organized Religion.
 
Of course, I didn't realize it at the time.
 
But in a moment my eyes were opened to "see" Christ seated in the heavenlies.
 
Just as amazing - I "saw" myself seated TOGETHER, TOGETHER, TOGETHER with Him (Eph. 2)!
 
Of course, this is the only possible outcome for all of us who have been "crucified with Christ" (Gal. 2:20).
 
Why was that moment of revelation "the beginning of the end" of my church ministry?
 
Because, at the same time I "saw" Him, I "saw" the Body of Christ - the REAL Body of Christ, the Ekklesia!
 
And I saw the difference between the Church that Man Built and the Ekklesia that Jesus is building.
 
I've spent the rest of my life walking in this and teaching it to others "outside the camp" because the ones "inside the camp" don't want to hear it.
 
But the truth of the matter is that a religion ABOUT Jesus is the greatest single hindrances to a relationship WITH Jesus that I know of.
 
To be seated with Him, we have to "come out of her"! (Rev. 18:4).
 
The revelation is free but there is a price to be paid.
 
I will say this: the price is worth the cost; what I have received is far more than what I have given up.
 
To be seated TOGETHER with Him! Who or what can touch you there!
 
To overcome as He overcame! Who can resist that?
 
Now is the time to ARISE TOGETHER with Him!
 
Stop fighting, stop struggling, stop wrestling with flesh and blood.
 
Learn what it means to be seated with Christ in the heavenly places FAAAAAAR ABOVE everything else.

Living the Christ-Life

The Vine is living. The Branches grow out of the Vine. So long as the Branches remain in the Vine, they are fruitful.
It is so in the natural realm; it is so in the spiritual realm. How could it be otherwise? The same Life that flows through the Vine is flowing through the Branches. Again, how could it be otherwise? The Branch does not have to do anything to “generate” its own life; the Branch simply relies on the Vine for its sustenance. So how does the Branch produce fruit? Not through effort. Not through works. Not through hoping. Not even by prayer! “Lord, I pray that you would make me to produce fruit.” The Lord will say, “I am the True Vine. Abide in Me and you will produce much fruit, and your fruit will remain.”
 
So how do I abide in Christ? The Lord puts you into union with Christ from the moment you are born-again...

Since Jesus said all authority in heaven and earth belongs to Him, why do so many others claim to have it?

Freedom From Fear!

Most of our fears are a consequence of not knowing God well enough. Fear comes from uncertainty.
If we are confident, secure, and certain about who we are in Christ, and who Christ is in us, then we won’t be worried about what the devil might do, and we won’t be worried about what other people might do.
Now folks, that’s a lot off your plate. Imagine what a relief it would be to just live your life in friendship with God, unaffected by worries and fears about the devil, unmoved by worries and fears about other people – what they might think, what they might say, what they might do.
 
Think about all you could accomplish if you were truly unafraid. I’m not saying you go out and take foolish risks. I’m saying fear holds us back. God tells us to go but we’re afraid to go. God tells us to stay put but we’re afraid to stay put. God gives us something to say but we’re afraid to say it. God gives us a talent or a gift that will bless and encourage and help other people, but we’re afraid we’ll make a mistake, or afraid we’ll look foolish, or afraid we might fail.
 
Let me go ahead and allay those fears right now. Let me share something with you that will set you free from fear of failure, fear of making mistakes...

Hi Elaine,
 
One of the greatest of spiritual truths is that God has raised us up TOGETHER with Christ.
 
In order for that to happen, God put us IN CHRIST.
 
That is why Paul could say, "I have been crucified with Christ" (Gal. 2:20).
 
But wait! Paul wasn't really there with Jesus on the cross!
 
And yet, God put Paul there - and put us there, too!
 
In the cross, "the two have become one."
 
As we have seen, this is the secret of the Christian life - and really, the secret to everything.
 
Because Jesus says that apart from HIM, we can do nothing.
 
That's just where the devil wants you - apart from Jesus, trying to do everything in your own strength - even
trying to follow Jesus in your own strength!
 
But TOGETHER, TOGETHER, TOGETHER with Him is how we produce fruit.
 
How?
 
Because it is "not I, but Christ" living in me.
 
We're still living... we don't cease to exist... Self never really "dies"...
 
But we are transformed, raised from the dead, seated TOGETHER with Him.
 
That is the teaching of Scripture.
 
How do we live it out?
 
How do we make it practical?
 
By living our lives based on TRUTHS, not FACTS.
 
It  is a FACT that you may look, sound, or feel defeated; but the TRUTH is God has caused you to triumph in
Christ.
 
it is a FACT that you are in the world; but the TRUTH is that you are not of the world.
 
It is a FACT that in the world you will have tribulation; but the TRUTH is that Jesus has overcome the world and
invites you to overcome together with Him.
 
These SPIRITUAL TRUTHS must become more real to us than the EARTHLY FACTS that say otherwise.
 
OK... so how does that happen?
 
It starts by hearing what God says - or in the case of Scripture, reading it.
 
Then, believe it.
 
I can help you with the first step and show you what God says. :-)
 
Whether or not to believe it is your choice!

How to Yield to God

In our daily life we come up against situations that we cannot overcome in our own strength, or with our own wisdom.
We need a strength and a wisdom that comes from Above, that comes from Beyond, that comes from Another outside of us and yet rises up from within us.
 
At one time in your life you learned you could not save yourself – that was the work of the Cross. Now, accept the work of the Cross and learn that just as you could not save yourself, neither can you love God, love your neighbor, forgive those who have sinned against you, cast out devils, be a bold witness for Christ, or fulfill your destiny in your own strength. Just as you once relied upon Christ to save you, so now you must rely upon Christ to live through you every day. Just as you continually rely upon Christ for salvation, so you must continually rely upon Christ for everything else...

The way we see God affects how we see ourselves and how we see others.
 
That certainly explains why people behave the way they do. If we see God as angry, strict, and ready to judge the slightest imperfection, that’s the way we become. If we see God as full of grace and mercy, we become more graceful and merciful. We tend to create God in our own image and imagine that He is exactly the way we are. If you have Daddy issues you’re going to have a warped perspective of your Heavenly Father. Some folks have been abused for so long they cannot imagine God as anything other than an abusive Husband or Spouse.And the church hasn’t helped – they feed into this fear and perpetuate it to protect their own power base.
 
What if God isn’t at all the way you’ve been taught? I wonder how many of God’s children are bound by a wrong view of God? I wonder how many are putting others into bondage with their own warped view of God? Either living in fear and guilt that they don’t measure up, or assuming they do and no one else does?
 
 Let’s find out what God is really like!

Hi Elaine,
 
God has raised us up TOGETHER and made us sit TOGETHER with Christ in the heavens (Eph. 2:6).
 
Do you find this incredible? Amazing? Hard to believe?
 
I've shared my testimony... how God took me from the throne back to the cross, and from the cross to the throne, to show me the simplicity of this truth:
 
"So long as you stay IN CHRIST, what is true of the VINE is true of the BRANCHES."
 
Conversely, this describes the whole operation of satan: to SEPARATE what God has joined together.
 
How and where did we get IN CHRIST?
 
It starts in the CROSS.
 
I call it the "Secret to the Christian Life" but that's not big enough.
 
The cross is really the Secret to "Everything" - life, light, love, overcoming, salvation, healing, deliverance, redemption, reconciliation, the new creation, all of it.
 
The cross is where God makes the TWO become ONE.
 
"As in Adam all die, even so in Christ will all be made alive" (1 Cor. 15:22).
 
Without the cross, there can be no death, burial, or resurrection TOGETHER with Christ!
 
Without the cross, there can be no ascending, seating, and overcoming TOGETHER with Christ!
 
Now, it is important that we get the full understanding of what God was doing in Christ through the cross.
 
It's not just what Jesus did FOR us, it's what Jesus did AS us!
 
What Jesus did AS us elevates us far above all principalities and powers, far above all dominions and names, far above the flesh-and-blood conflict of the earthly, worldly, and natural.
 
For too many, the cross has become a morbid celebration of death instead of a robust celebration of life.

How to Keep the Sabbath

“The Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath day” (Mt. 12:8).
The Sabbath (and every other thing in the Old Covenant) points to a spiritual fulfillment in Christ.
Jesus is not bound by any rule, or regulation, or tradition, that says thou shalt, or thou shalt not. He is Lord over the Sabbath; the Sabbath is not lord over Him.
 
We who are in Christ do keep the Sabbath, but the Sabbath for us is not a day of the week. It is certainly not a day for attending religious services. It has nothing to do with the calendar. If we want to keep the Sabbath we need only abide, continue, and dwell in Christ, as the branch abides, continues, and dwells in the Vine. For the branch is resting in the Vine. The branch does not struggle or worry or force itself through sheer effort to produce fruit. Instead, it simply lives in union with the Vine, and in that sense, it rests. It trusts in the Life of the Vine to produce the fruit. And this is the principle of the Sabbath rest...

Here yet again we see a convert to Islam immediately get the idea that his new religion calls for violence against unbelievers. Authorities remain wholly uninterested in investigating this recurring phenomenon.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged on Wednesday with one count of preparation of terrorist acts contrary to section 5(1)(a) of the Terrorism Act 2006 connected to Islamist terrorism….

A 14-year-old boy charged under the Terrorism Act allegedly made bombs in his bedroom to become an Islamic ‘martyr’, a court heard today.

The teenager, who converted to Islam this year, is accused of developing an extremist jihadist mindset in the past month.

He allegedly made devices by combining explosive substances or bleach with tinfoil and screws, and professed his wish to become a martyr in a video.

The boy, from Eastleigh, Hampshire, who cannot be named because of his age, is one of the youngest people to be charged with terrorism offences in the UK.

Jesus is the Point of the Sabbath. Jesus is the Goal of the Sabbath. In the New Covenant God wants us to celebrate a Person, not a Day.

I know who I am,
I've been identified with Christ;

Such a catchy tune... and probably 99 out of 100 people singing it had no clue what it meant!
 
Including yours truly :-)
 
Until that day in my backyard sometime back in 1996 or so when my eyes were opened to "see" myself seated TOGETHER with Christ.
 
Now I can sing the song, live the words, and pass these truths on to others.
 
As we saw last week, satan's whole strategy is to SEPARATE what God has joined together.
 
So long as you stay IN CHRIST, what is true of the VINE is true of the BRANCHES.
 
We take that on faith, because Jesus said so.
 
You may be wondering HOW it is so.
 
I can't fully explain it.

The Strength of Seeing

To be an overcomer does not mean that we deny the existence of the enemy.
We are not going to overcome by pretending we are not really surrounded. Denying the existence of the adversary will not make him disappear. We acknowledge and admit that there is a real enemy, a real spirit of Antichrist, that is out to destroy the Remnant and hinder the Testimony of Jesus. We also acknowledge and admit that more often than not, this spirit of Antichrist seems to get the advantage over us.
 
Even so, the issue is not the enemy. We may look at the enemy, study him, and build an entire movement around different ways to fight him. We can write books and hold seminars on “spiritual warfare”. But when we look out from the mountain, what do we really see? Here is the difference between those who overcome and those who are defeated: it is not in their ability to fight, but in their ability to SEE, and this seeing is not of themselves, but is of God...

Hi Elaine,
 
Did you know that the whole strategy of satan is to drag you down from your heavenly authority in Christ and get you mired in the earthly, worldly, natural, flesh-and-blood cares of this world?
 
Conversely, God wants to elevate us above and beyond fighting, thinking, worrying, and struggling with flesh-and-blood battles.
I learned this the hard way.
In my early 20s I pastored a church and nearly had a nervous breakdown.
 
I thought my problem was the devil, and I went out in search of some advanced "spiritual warfare" techniques to beat the the enemy.
 
If it were not for Divine Intervention, I would still be fighting that battle today.
It's a losing strategy.
 
Why?
 
Because it sucks you into a never-ending battle that you cannot win.
 
But one day, God - in His mercy and grace - simply revealed His Son to me.
 
That day opened up an entirely new way of living and walking in Victory.
 
And yet...
 
That day also marked the beginning of the end of my career as a preacher for Organized Religion!
 
Why am I sharing this with you now?
 
Because today I see too many precious brothers and sisters who love God and love the truth but they are fighting the wrong battles with the wrong people over the wrong things for the wrong reasons.
 
This is how satan succeeds in "wearing out the saints" in the last days (see Dan. 7:25).
 
This is how we are seduced from the simplicity of Christ and sucked into a complex and crazy world that makes no sense.
 
So if you're feeling a little worn out or worn down - not just physically, but emotionally or spiritually - then just realize it's no accident that you're feeling this way; it's all by design.
 
What can we do about it?
 
That's the subject of a new online Bible study we're kicking off this week.
 
In this series, I'm going to walk you step-by-step through the same revelatory process that God walked me through when I was defeated, burned out, frustrated, and getting beat up regularly by the devil.

Trust in My Life

I am learning more and more the necessity of letting God have His Way with me.
That is not to say I allow Him to live through me at all times as I should.
Would that I would so yield, at all times, and without fail. But in the instances where I have allowed Him to respond through me the results have been startling. It is by this that I know He is alive. I am able to watch Him work through me, almost as though I were standing apart from myself observing it.
 
In order to bring my experience down to earth in terms of practicality, let me take an ordinary incident and demonstrate how His Life responds for us, and in our stead, when we allow it...
