Most-Famous Soccer Ball in History
One would be hard-pressed to find a soccer ball that has gained as much notoriety as the one gifted to the President by Putin.

When the ball was first handed to Trump by Putin, pundits were speculating all the hidden meanings behind the exchange.

Trump, at that point, had all but admonished Putin in any wrongdoing regarding the 2016 presidential election.

However, Mueller and company had just announced the indictment of Russian intelligence officers in the hacking of the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

As Putin handed the ball to Trump, a rough translation of what he said during that moment was that the ball was now in Trump’s court.

Some took it as a reference to the World Cup the United States will be hosting.

Others, however, speculated he was referring to how Trump would publicly handle the allegations made against Putin’s intelligence officers.

Liberal Outrage
After Trump received the gift and said it was headed to Barron, liberals blew up the Internet.

Some even went so far as to call Trump a traitor for his comments about Putin.

Trump later shed a bit more light on what was said behind closed doors.

His comments during that interview contradicted what he said to the media in Helsinki.

Should Barron Trump Be Able to Keep the Soccer Ball?
Yes
No
Trump stated he had actually spoken to Putin about the hacking and told him it was unacceptable and would not be tolerated.

The news cycle on that exchange has seemingly run its course, but the story of the soccer ball lives on!

Donald Trump Previews Second Meeting with Vladimir Putin

President Donald Trump reacted Thursday to the latest negative media coverage about his administration, and previewed a second meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“The Summit with Russia was a great success, except with the real enemy of the people, the Fake News Media,” he wrote on Twitter. “I look forward to our second meeting so that we can start implementing some of the many things discussed.”

Trump said that he and Putin discussed the importance of stopping terrorism, nuclear proliferation, and cyber attacks as well as trade, Ukraine, the Middle East, and North Korea.

“There are many answers, some easy and some hard, to these problems…but they can ALL be solved!” he wrote optimistically.

Trump accused the media of wanting war with Russia, instead of a partnership.
“The Fake News Media wants so badly to see a major confrontation with Russia, even a confrontation that could lead to war,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
He argued that the meeting with Putin was successful, despite the desparaging tone from the press.

Trump marveled at the new level of negativity directed at his administration after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

“The Fake News Media is going Crazy! They make up stories without any backup, sources or proof,” he wrote. “Many of the stories written about me, and the good people surrounding me, are total fiction.”

Trump said he would continue condemning the reports he considered false, even though it gave them more attention.

“Problem is, when you complain you just give them more publicity,” he wrote. “But I’ll complain anyway!”
Schiff Hijacks China Hearing, Tries to Subpoena Trump-Putin Meeting Interpreter

House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Adam Schiff (D-CA) raised a motion to subpoena the interpreter who attended President Trump’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland, during a hearing on Thursday.
The hearing’s topic was “China’s threat to American government and private sector research and innovation leadership.”

But after Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) gave his opening remarks, he turned the floor over to Schiff for his opening statement. Schiff began by attacking the Helsinki meeting and said he was concerned that Trump met with Putin alone without even his own national security adviser.

Schiff then raised a motion to subpoena the interpreter who attended the meeting.

Nunes said he would not entertain the motion since Schiff only could bring a motion to adjourn, and reminded Schiff he had the remainder of three minutes to make his opening statement.

Schiff challenged Nunes, who then called a recess to discuss the matter.

The hearing witnesses — four China experts — talked with staff and among themselves.

After the recess, Nunes moved to table — or postpone — the motion, which Republicans voted for by voice vote.

Schiff then requested a recorded vote. The motion was then tabled along party lines, 11-6.

“Schiff has decided to turn this hearing into a Russia clown show,” a house staffer said.

Sometime before the hearing ended, Schiff tweeted about his attempt to subpoena the interpreter:

Republicans voted it down.

Matt Gaetz: Peter Strzok’s Text on Opening a ‘Case’ While McCabe Was FBI Director Related to Russia

FBI agent Peter Strzok’s text to FBI lawyer Lisa Page hours after FBI Director James Comey was fired that said they needed to “open the case we’ve been waiting on” now that FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe was in charge was related to the Trump-Russia investigation, according to Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).
“That text message was not unrelated to Russia,” Gaetz said in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Tuesday.
The evening right after Comey was fired on May 9, 2017, Strzok had texted Page, his then-paramour, at 8:14 p.m. with: “We need to open the case we’ve been waiting on now while Andy is acting.”
Page responded the next morning at 4:57 a.m., with: “We need to lock in [redacted]. In a formal, chargeable way. Soon.”
Strzok confirmed during his testimony on Thursday that “Andy” meant McCabe, but refused to confirm what “case” he was referring to, or who Page was talking about.
But Page, who testified behind closed doors on Friday and Monday was much more forthcoming about those texts, Gaetz said.
“It’s my understanding from discussions with my colleagues that Rosenstein had indicated that it had nothing to do with Russia or the Trump campaign, that it was this unrelated matter,” he said.
“Strzok refused to answer what it was related to. And Lisa Page gave a testimony that was in direct conflict with what I understood to be Rosenstein’s explanation.”

Limbaugh: Dems Using Russia Meddling ‘to Eventually Get Rid of Elections’
https://www.breitbart.com/video/2018/07/19/limbaugh-dems-using-russia-meddling-to-eventually-get-rid-of-elections/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=daily&utm_content=links&utm_campaign=20180719
19 Jul 20181,765
Thursday on his nationally syndicated radio show, conservative talker Rush Limbaugh argued the hype over Russian meddling in U.S. elections was an effort by the Democratic Party “to eventually get rid of elections.”
Limbaugh said, “You realize as far as many Americans are concerned, every election going forward is not to be tainted depending on who wins and loses it. If the if the Democrats win, everything will be fine, you’ll never hear a word about tainted elections. In fact, the next time Democrats win the House or the Senate, pray tell the White House you’re probably going to hear one of two things: ‘Yeah the Russians were still trying to help the Republicans, we found out about it this time and we were able to overcome it and the Russians are going to be trying every election but we Democrats have found a way to beat them back. Vote for us, we can control the Russians, we’re not in bed with them,’ Blah blah. The other possibility is that if the Democrats won the election, that’s going to be, yet there won’t be any talk of the Russians meddling or colluding whatsoever. We won’t even hear a word about it. But when they lose, when they lose it, can’t be because they’ve been rejected by voters. There has to be some nefarious reason. There has to be tampering , there has to be meddling, there has to be collusion. In the process they have done a great job of making so many millions of Americans question the integrity of elections now.”
After using climate change as an example of Democrats group think, Limbaugh continued, “They believe all this garbage, so look how easy it’s going to be, probably on the way, to making them think that every election that matters is somehow tainted. They actually got started with this in 2000, Florida recount, Bush versus Gore. I believe this all has a very long-term purpose and that is to eventually get rid of elections. You can snicker and you can smirk and you can say ‘Come on Rush, you say things like that, it makes it really hard for us to support you,’ Well I am, maybe so, but I’m telling you, don’t laugh and be very careful in criticizing me because I am here to tell you that if they could, they would. Elections are the only thing standing in the way to what is considered to be a birthright entitlement and that’s power.”
He added, “You can’t deny, you cannot deny they’re working overtime to make everybody think the presidential race in 2016 is invalid. That it’s illegitimate. That the Russians were involved in some of the—Trump really didn’t win. That’s what all of this has been about.”

President Donald Trump dismissed questions about his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, assuring the media he remains tough in dealings with Russia.
“There’s been no president ever as tough as I have been as tough on Russia,” Trump claimed while speaking to reporters during a meeting with his Cabinet officials at the White House.
The president cited the expulsion of Russian diplomats, increased sanctions, and military action in Syria as some of the tough actions he has taken against Russia.
“I think that President Putin knows that better than anybody, certainly a lot better than the media. He understands it, and he’s not happy about it,” Trump said.
The president commented on the issue as establishment political figures in Washington, DC, reacted negatively to his Monday meeting and press conference with Putin.
When reporters asked him if he believed Russia was still targeting the United States, Trump replied, “Thank you, no.”

Hillary Calls For ‘Defending Diplomats:’ Blindsided when Benghazi Survivor Brings Up Dead Brothers

Failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has refused to step aside following her unexpected defeat in the 2016 election and has since that time seemingly made it a habit to repeatedly insert her foot into her mouth with ill-advised commentary and attacks on the man who beat her, President Donald Trump.

Most recently, Clinton launched an attack via Twitter on the president with regard to a rumor that had begun to circulate about a potential deal between the U.S. and Russia that would allow for individuals wanted by those nations to be questioned, even as they lived in the opposite nation.

According to The Daily Wire, one of those individuals wanted for questioning by Russia is former U.S. ambassador Michael McFaul, who the Russians accuse of being involved in a financial scam and who Clinton rushed to defend … which opened her up to a counterattack in regard to a different ambassador she failed to defend in the past.

Clinton tweeted, “Ambassador @McFaul is a patriot who has spent his career standing up for America. To see the White House even hesitate to defend a diplomat is deeply troubling.”

That particular message calling out the White House for failing to defend a diplomat didn’t sit particularly well with one of the survivors of the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack, in which Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others were killed by Libyan militants who attacked a U.S. diplomatic compound and CIA annex.
That survivor was Kris “Tanto” Paronto, a former Special Forces officer and Army Ranger who was one of several private security contractors who fended off repeated waves of attacks from the terrorists at the compound and a CIA annex in Benghazi while the Obama White House and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did nothing.

On top of doing nothing for the 13 hours during which the waves of terror assaults raged, Clinton and the Obama White House then worked to downplay and cover up the attack in the aftermath, even going so far as to lie repeatedly to the public about the cause of the attack and their failure to respond to warnings of an imminent attack ahead of time.
Those characters, in conjunction with establishment politicians in Congress, then worked diligently to smear and undermine the credibility of Benghazi survivors, like Paronto, as well as the family members of those killed in the attack in order to protect the future political ambitions of both former President Barack Obama and would-be president Clinton.
According to NBC News, the issue with McFaul came to a head following Trump’s summit in Helsinki, Finland, with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which Putin had offered to allow U.S. investigators under Special Counsel Robert Mueller to travel to Russia to interview Russian intelligence officials indicted over alleged 2016 election interference efforts.
In exchange, Russian investigators would be allowed to question McFaul, and potentially others, in a deal that Trump initially found to be intriguing and was described as “an incredible offer.”

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders had stated Wednesday that there had been some discussion of the idea but no commitments had been made, then clarified on Thursday that Trump ultimately disagreed with the proposal put forward by Putin and would not allow McFaul, or anyone else, to be questioned by the Russians.

RELATED: Hillary Tries Taking Cheap Shot at Trump, Winds Up Knocking Herself Out Instead

Nevertheless, Clinton’s tweet — which reeks of a lack of self-awareness — went out anyway and left herself open to be hit on her hypocrisy by a number of Twitter users, not just Paronto.

This is just the latest example of a moment where Clinton likely would’ve been better off keeping her mouth shut instead of opening it and reminding everyone of her history of failed leadership.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has been one of President Donald Trump’s most outspoken critics over the president’s comments following a summit in Helsinki, Finland with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

But, it was not so long ago that Schumer and Putin were literally having coffee and doughnuts together.

Not only did Schumer entertain the Russian president, he seemed to gush over his presence.
The cherished moment for Schumer occured after a Russian-owned oil company opened its first gas station in New York.
Schumer played tour guide for Putin and showed him around town.
The tour included a stop for coffee and some Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
After the visit, Schumer said: “When I showed the president of Russia a Krispy Kreme doughnut and he ate it and said it was good, that was one of the more surreal moments I’ve had in politics.”
It Didn’t Stop There
Schumer’s “friendship” with Russia did not stop at doughnuts and coffee, either.
As George W. Bush’s presidency was winding down and Democrats were making a play for the White House in 2008, Schumer was calling for a better working relationship with Russia.
In June 2008, he penned an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, where he specifically called for Bush to make Russia part of the equation in dealing with Iran.
He wrote: “The Bush Administration…needs to use every diplomatic tool in its arsenal to halt Tehran’s development of nuclear weapons.”
That solution, in his eyes, was Russia.
Being Diplomatic
To say Trump’s post-summit press conference with Putin was a successful endeavor would be foolish.
However, nobody knows what was said behind closed doors between the two presidents.
Trump did shed some light on what was said on Wednesday during an interview with Jeff Glor of CBS, though:

Having heard that interview, it is a fairly safe assumption Trump was doing nothing more than poking the bear during his press conference, something we all know he loves to do.
Do You Believe Trump Held Putin Accountable Privately?
Yes
No
Next
If we take him at his word, Trump addressed the situation privately but refused to call Putin out while they shared a stage.
Last time I checked, that is called diplomacy — something Schumer himself called on Republicans to use to bring Russia to the table previously.

President Trump finally has one member of the media sticking up for him.

After dozens of journalists, both liberal and conservative, ripped Trump over his press conference with Putin, Lou Dobbs of Fox News asked, “What would it have taken to satisfy the morons on those clips?

On the Offensive
Immediately after the press conference was held, very few people in the media sided with Trump.

For many, it was tantamount to treason that Trump all but excused Putin of any wrongdoing in the 2016 presidential election.

Even some of Dobbs’ co-workers laid into the President.

Neal Cavuto, one of the more level-headed journalists today, called Trump’s performance “disgusting.”

Cavuto stated, “I’m sorry, it’s the only way I feel. It’s not a right or left thing to me. It’s just wrong.”

Anti-Trump pundits were also getting as much face time as possible to go after Trump.

John Brennan, the former director of the CIA who once voted for a Communist Party presidential candidate, called Trump’s remarks “imbecilic,” and further stated his comments were “nothing short of treasonous.”

But Dobbs did not agree, stating the President “handled himself perfectly.”

“And what is his name, Brennan? He’s the biggest joke I have seen. What is he supposed to say?” Dobbs continued. “We’re settling this now, toe-to-toe with the Russkies, we’ll see who’s ICBM gets to which city the fastest? This is stupid stuff, this beyond the pale, as far as I’m concerned.”

Fine Line
The question is if Trump went too far with his comments during the press conference.

Keep in mind, his comments were made only days after the Justice Department handed down 12 indictments against Russian intelligence officers.

The indictments were directly related to their involvement in the hacking of both Hillary Clinton campaign and DNC headquarter computers during the presidential election.

For many, they wanted to see Trump confront Putin about the hackings in front of the cameras.

It is worth noting, though, the Justice Department also stated the hacking had no impact whatsoever on the actual voter numbers for the election.
Do you agree with Dobbs?
Yes No

We have also yet to see the actual hard evidence related to the hacking.
Until that evidence is revealed, it is understandable as to why Trump would be skeptical of the reports.

Rush: Media’s Furious Because Trump Dodged the Deadly Trap They Set at Summit
https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/rush-medias-furious-trump-dodged-deadly-trap-set-summit/?

Both before and especially after his high-stakes summit in Helsinki, Finland, with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Donald Trump received withering fire in the form of harsh criticism from the liberal media and bipartisan political establishment in Washington D.C.

Far too many of those critics cranked up their “outrage” to the maximum level and accused Trump of committing treason against America, ostensibly because he declined to publicly admonish Putin for meddling in the 2016 election and for not uncritically accepting the largely evidence-free assertions of such that originally came from the now-provably biased intelligence community of the prior Obama administration.

But conservative talk radio king Rush Limbaugh isn’t buying those reasons as the end-all, be-all of the furious and over-the-top reactions of the media and political establishment to Trump’s summit with Putin, and suggested that there was an ulterior motive behind both the outrage and Trump’s decision to not publicly state the things that so many of his detractors wanted to hear him say.

On Tuesday’s program, Limbaugh stated, “There has to be a reason for this delusional, out of control, deranged and yet unified reaction to Trump and Putin in the press conference yesterday. There has to be some explanation for it. And it’s not that Trump didn’t call Putin out. That’s not what these people are upset about. It’s what they’re trying to make you think they’re upset about.”

“And I am here to tell you, it is not what they are telling you it is. It is not that they think Trump acted treasonously. It is not that they think Trump didn’t call Putin out. It is not that Trump did not defend his own intelligence people,” he continued.

TRENDING: Dem Panic: Page May Seek Immunity Deal To Come Clean on Strzok, McCabe, Even Comey

Rather, Limbaugh attempted to explain that the real reason the media and political establishment were so completely outraged by the summit is that, once again, Trump essentially outsmarted them and declined to play into their preset narrative by avoiding saying things that would immediately be used against him before the summit was even officially concluded.

Limbaugh glossed over how the media and political establishment still haven’t gotten over the fact that Trump won the 2016 election and are still operating under the delusion that he will say or do something where they can shout “Aha, this time we’ve got him,” and remove him from office, ending the dire threat Trump truly poses to the establishment’s status quo.

“Trump isn’t stupid. Trump is not ignorant. Trump is not incapable of nuance,” stated Limbaugh of the anti-Trump efforts, and later reiterated that “Trump has confounded them in every single effort they have made and mounted against him. They’re at their wits’ end now.”

With an eye toward the media’s ongoing narrative regarding Russian interference in the election and supposed collusion between Russia and Trump’s campaign — two separate issues that have been deliberately conflated into one by the media — Limbaugh proceeded to get to the heart of his theory about why Trump refrained from publicly acknowledging the Russian interference at the summit.

Do you agree with Rush that Trump is avoiding playing into the hands of his detractors by not mentioning Russian interference?
Yes No

“And now we’re told that Donald Trump can go ahead and — in a press conference with Vladimir Putin — he can acknowledge that the Russians meddled while at the same time be protected from any allegation that he colluded,” Limbaugh said. “Sorry, folks, if Donald Trump had done what they wanted him to do yesterday — if Donald Trump had done what they were trying to force him to do — if Donald Trump had acknowledged to Vladimir Putin’s face that he had meddled in the 2016 presidential election?”

“Before that press conference was over, the New York Times would have a headline: ‘Trump Validates Mueller Investigation.’ ‘Trump Acknowledges Russians Affected Election Outcome.’ ‘Trump Acknowledges Russia May Have Played a Role in Thwarting American Democracy.’ There is no doubt in my mind that if Donald Trump had acknowledged what everybody in the deep state is demanding that he acknowledge, that the Russians meddled — which, they meddle in everything, and they have been for 50 years,” Limbaugh asserted.

“But in this case, the people of this country have been told that Donald Trump’s illegitimate, just like George Bush was illegitimate because of the Florida recount. His presidency was illegitimate, invalid. ‘We don’t have to listen to what George W. Bush wants or thinks.’ Same thing with Trump,” he continued.

“They simply refuse to accept that they were defeated, and Trump — if he had acknowledged the meddling of the Russians — all you would be seeing today is that Trump acknowledges Putin may have or did affect the outcome of the election. Because that’s what they’ve wanted, just like … remember those press conferences where the media demanded George W. Bush apologize, admit he had made mistakes, and Bush wouldn’t do it?” Limbaugh said.

“The same thing with Donald Trump here. He cannot bifurcate this. He cannot acknowledge that Putin meddled, because if he did — and if he ever does — then the media is going to include and write that Trump has finally acknowledged that there was tampering in the election and that his victory may now be in question and that Donald Trump knows it. That’s what they want to write. He’s not giving them a chance to write it,” Limbaugh added.

RELATED: Chilling Rush Prediction: The Left Will Try To Stop Elections Before All’s Said & Done

Limbaugh concluded that Trump had worked incredibly hard to win the presidency and wasn’t about to play into the hands of those who would diminish or delegitimize such an amazing achievement, whether that be the liberal media, Democrats or NeverTrump Republicans or even the Russians themselves, which “is entirely rational and understandable to me.”

Once again, Rush Limbaugh has hit the nail on the head and cut through all of the media’s BS to strike at the heart of the matter, which is the still-ongoing fixation of Trump’s detractors on finding a way to undermine and ultimately destroy his presidency, by any means necessary.

US President Donald Trump believes Vladimir Putin should be held responsible for alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election after all - since he is the president of Russia, Trump told CBS.
The network teased a quote from Trump ahead of airing his interview with CBS Evening News anchor Jeff Glor, which is set to be broadcast at 6:30 pm Eastern Time on Wednesday. In it, Glor asks Trump if he would hold Putin personally culpable for the alleged election interference.

Trump said yes, although he apparently stopped short of actually blaming Putin for personally ordering an influence op, the way his opponents tend to.

“I would because he's in charge of the country just like I consider myself to be responsible for things that happen in this country," Trump said. "So certainly as the leader of the country you would have to hold him responsible.”

He also said he warned Putin against future meddling during their summit in Helsinki, Finland, on Monday.

"I let him know we can't have this. We're not going to have it. And that's the way it's going to be," Trump said.

While the media would like to make President Trump out as some type of ogre, he is just like any other father.

After being given a soccer ball from the World Cup, as any good father would do, Trump tossed it to his wife Melania to give to his youngest son, Barron.
Like it Never Happened
What is rather amazing, though, is the lack of attention his gesture is getting from the mainstream media.

Whenever Obama had a “tender” moment with his children, the mainstream media nominated him for Father of the Year.

When Trump does something similar, it barely gets a blip on the radar.

It just proves yet again how one-sided the coverage of President Trump is on most media outlets today.

Symbolism
Putin made it quite clear the gift was not a meaningless gesture.

While handing the ball over to Trump, Putin stated, “I’ll give this ball to you and now the ball is in your court.”

Some in attendance thought the reference was to the United States hosting the World Cup in 2026, but others are speculating something much different.

With Trump receiving so much criticism from Democrats over his relationship with Putin, it may have been a challenge by Putin to see how the two countries would be moving forward.

Skepticism
Democrats were not the only ones taking a shot at Trump.

Senator Lindsey Graham was not quite as receptive of the gift as Trump.

Not long after the press conference, Graham tweeted, “If it were me, I’d check the soccer ball for listening devices and never allow it in the White House.”

He also took a shot at Trump, stating, “Missed opportunity by President Trump to firmly hold Russia accountable for 2016 meddling and deliver a strong warning regarding future elections.”

Not the Place
Embarrassing Putin on a world stage would not be the most diplomatic choice.

Rather than embarrassing the Russian president, it would play much better for Trump to address these issues in private.

Do You Think This Makes Trump More Likable?
Yes
No
Trump was right in keeping the tone light in public and actually making himself more likeable by mentioning his son when presented with the gift.

While Trump will no doubt take some heat from those that wanted to see an aggressive confrontation with Putin, this was a political win for the President.

Scalise Digs Up Obama Dirt, Uses It To Completely Destroy Trump’s Russia Critics

As most conservative Americans know, the mainstream media has a very short and selective memory.
As cries of outrage toward President Donald Trump grow louder by the day for his handling of Russian President Vladimir Putin, it’s as if liberals and their media allies have completely forgotten what occurred this past decade under President Barack Obama.
Since nobody in the mainstream media will do the work, Rep. Steve Scalise — the congressman who miraculously survived an attack on his life last year — reminded the American people of exactly what took place between Russian and the United States during the Obama years.
“President @realDonaldTrump went into this meeting with Putin from a position of American strength to combat Russian aggression, but it’s important to remember how Russia was allowed to get to this point,” Scalise tweeted Monday.

There certainly were numerous ways “Russia was allowed to get to that point.”
Scalise started with the year 2009, when then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gleefully presented a plastic “reset button” to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to reset relations with Russia and the United States, as if the gesture undid all the wrongs Russia committed against the U.S. and our allies.

“This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility,” Obama said.
“I understand,” Medvedev replied. “I will transmit this information to Vladimir, and I stand with you.”
Of course, Obama never intended anyone to hear this, but it was all caught on a hot-mic.

Tucker Shocks Entire Panel with Who’s Really Influencing Our Elections
BY BEN MARQUIS
JULY 17, 2018 AT 2:02PM
The left exploded with outraged cries of “Treason!” and other such nonsense in the wake of President Donald Trump’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland, on Monday.

At issue for many on the left — and even some on the right — was the fact that Trump didn’t blast Putin to his face about Russian interference and meddling in the 2016 election, which many on the left still blame for failed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s unexpected loss.

Tucker Carlson, a member of the Fox News team that traveled to Helsinki for the summit, joined the co-hosts of Fox’s “The Five” via satellite to discuss a number of developments following the summit, including the allegations of election meddling.

Carlson said that while he agreed with assessments that Russia likely attempted to interfere in the 2016 election, he noted that other nations also interfered in our elections in different ways, such as Mexico by “packing our electorate” with its own people.

Co-host Greg Gutfeld broached the topic of leftist outrage over Trump’s failure to explicitly call out Russian election meddling.

TRENDING: Sanders Goes Off the Cuff, Demolishes CNN in a Way Only Sarah Knows How

“It’s very hard, at least for me, Tucker, to take that media response to this seriously,” he said. “Since it’s always been at an incredible high pitch, that for some reason maybe I just don’t hear it anymore.”

“I’m wondering if this is because the media is blaming Putin for Hillary’s loss and they are constantly demanding their pound of flesh and nothing will ever be enough,” Gutfeld added.

“I’m not a shrink so I don’t fully understand that, but I don’t think Russia is our close friend or anything like that,” Carlson replied. “Of course they are trying to interfere in our affairs. They have for a long time.”

“Many countries do. Some more successfully than Russia, like Mexico, which is routinely interfering in our elections by packing our electorate, so those are all concerns,” he continued.

Do you agree that Mexican immigration has influenced American elections more than Russia?
Yes No

“I honestly don’t understand why we need to believe that Russia is the primary issue of American political life, that seems kind of nuts to me,” Carlson said.

“Maybe you disagree with Trump — which is totally fine — but the idea that where you are on Russia is the defining question, like that’s kind of demented, actually, because it’s like number 115 on the list of real concerns, at least in my mind,” he said.

“Maybe I’m the demented one, but that’s my opinion,” he added.

Carlson is absolutely right to note that while Russia most likely did attempt to meddle in our nation’s most recent election — something they have done before on numerous occasions — their interference is not unique nor does it pose the biggest threat to our constitutional republic.

Indeed, our nation and the democratic processes are influenced far more by the hundreds of thousands, if not millions over time, of immigrants from Mexico and other Central American nations who have flooded into the country over the past few years and decades.

RELATED: Union Lobbies for Easier Air Traffic Controller Test, Helps Members Cheat Anyway

To be sure, Russia meddling in our elections is not a good thing, and Trump perhaps should have taken a more forceful stance against Putin with regard to his nation’s efforts at disrupting America’s political processes in 2016, and they should be held accountable for what they tried to do wherever possible.

That said, Carlson is also correct that Russian interference is nothing new and doesn’t approach the top of the list of priorities for what American citizens should become outraged or overly concerned about.

Furthermore, Trump’s failure to figuratively smack Putin across the face for his nation’s efforts at election meddling in the middle of a high-stakes diplomatic summit is a far cry from “treason” and would likely have made relations between our two nuclear-armed nations even worse than they already are, an outcome no sane American citizen should want to see.

The president added that he views the situation in Europe as a warning to the U.S. that it needs to be stronger on border security, which he says still includes a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border.

On Friday, Trump said during a joint press conference alongside British Prime Minister Theresa May that Europe “better watch themselves” regarding immigration.

Trump implemented a zero tolerance policy on illegal immigration earlier this year that drew widespread criticism after it resulted in an increase in immigrant children being separated from family members.

Was Vladimir Putin the one in charge at Monday’s press conference with President Donald Trump at their Monday summit in Helsinki? Many people would say yes. But one body language expert says that may not have been the case.

Regarding the opening press conference between the two leaders, the U.K. Express reached out to someone to read the tea leaves (so to speak) in Trump and Putin’s posture — and it’s something that’s going to have a lot of Democrats furious.

“Judi James, author and body language expert, told Express.co.uk the duo are not as friendly as the warm words from Trump would have you believe,” the paper reported.

“If the May/Trump summit looked chilly, this Trump/Putin meeting looked buried under a thick layer of perma-frost,” James said.

“Both men arrived performing the kind of alpha posturing you normally see in a boxing ring, swaggering with puffed chests and in Trump’s case a mouth clamp plus what was bordering on a scowl to camera as both pulled at their jackets in what is commonly a ‘prepare to fight’ ritual,” James said.

“In the room for the photo-call though they looked more like a sullen, divorcing couple at crisis counseling.

“Putin was especially sphinx-like, returning little of the sparse eye contact he received from Trump and maintaining a poker face even after Trump’s ‘soccer’ flattery was being translated for him,” she added.

“Trump sat in his usual ‘Trump Slump’ pose with his legs splayed and his fingers in ‘downward steeple’ position to register macho dominance but this time his fingertips tapped together throughout which is a sign of impatience.

“Putin adopted a more elegant power pose, sitting upright with one elbow on the arm of the chair but as Trump spoke Putin’s other hands clasped the lower strut of the chair arm as though irritation could have been making him keen to go.

Trump, she said, “also performed some impatience rituals like scratching up his cuff and finger-fiddling.

“Trump instigated the handshake at the end and it was performed from their seats with a long distance arm-stretch and no patting or prolonging additions to give any clues away about their feelings.

James said that both men “looked annoyed.”

“When they last met their body language was cool and slightly awkward, but in dramatic fashion Putin leaned right out of his chair to whisper and chat to Trump with a smile on his face once the cameras were finished to signal a more off-screen friendship bond,” James said.

“This time the two men sat rigid in their seats with absolutely no eye contact or communication when the lights were turned off.

“This could be a ploy. It could be about pre-meeting posturing and the men could emerge showing friendship signals suggesting they’d each fought hard before allowing themselves to bond.”

But, she said, “if they do emerge in the same frosty style it could imply it might have been better had this meeting never happened.”

Of course, James’ opinions on the press conference to follow weren’t included. That’s the one that most of the media has gone apoplectic over. However, at least when it came to the first round, it looks like it may not have been Putin who was in control — at least if you believe this expert’s years of experience.

Vladimir Putin is pragmatic enough to accept Donald Trump placing US national interests above all else but, to build a mutually beneficial relationship, he expects his counterpart to respect Russia’s, Dmitry Peskov told RT.
Ahead of the much-anticipated summit between the Russian and US leaders in Helsinki, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov sat down with RT for an exclusive interview, in which he touched upon Donald Trump’s seemingly controversial but very natural ‘America first’ motto.

POLL: What is the likely outcome of the Trump-Putin meeting?

“This principle works for any head of state. Any head of state, when talking to their foreign counterparts, has to take care of the interests of their state. And our president is quite pragmatic, quite consistent, quite practical. He always says that he cares about the national interests of Russia, above everything else. That's why he understands the reciprocal beliefs of Donald Trump, as applied to his country,” Peskov said.

At the same time, in global politics, such an approach would never work properly and tends to result in isolation, unless complemented by a principle of mutual respect and of recognizing a partner’s interests.

“This approach has to be based on commitment to develop mutually beneficial co-operation, which takes into account the interests of other countries as well. All these factors added together can create a proper environment for developing co-operation,” Putin’s spokesman emphasized. “This is what we hope to achieve at this summit. We hope this will be a baby step towards overcoming the current critical situation in our bilateral relations.”

As leaders of two major powers, Trump and Putin obviously respect each other and “get along well,” Peskov said, noting that the US president repeatedly refers to his Russian counterpart as a “competitor” and it’s not necessarily a bad thing.

“Competition is a positive phenomenon I would say. Competition helps the world to develop. But there is a ‘but.’ Competition has to be fair. We need fair competition in politics, in the economy. This helps all the global processes develop,” he said.

“Unfortunately, we see that competition is not always fair,” Peskov added, particularly singling out Washington’s economic pressure on its European partners.

While Putin and Trump during their Helsinki rendezvous are expected to discuss a wide range of issues in which there was at least a trace of potential compromise and common ground, there was no strict agenda and no concrete plans for any joint statement after the talks yet, Peskov noted. However, he reassured those wary of what they might agree upon behind closed doors, including some fearing they could “agree on Europe over the heads of Europeans.”

“Russia and the United States have a special responsibility for maintaining strategic stability and security in the world, our two countries specifically,” Peskov stated. “So common sense tells us that the countries of the world, especially European countries, should be interested in the normalization of relations between Moscow and Washington.”

With low expectations, Trump pressured to get tough with Putin on election meddling
Sunday, July 15, 2018 | Tag Cloud Tags: Democrat, News, Putin, Russia, Trump, Washington, Worthy News

(Worthy News) - President Trump walked into a meeting Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin expecting to get little or nothing out of high-stakes talks, while inviting criticism from Democrats and Republicans back home for his kid-glove treatment of the former KGB officer.

Sitting down with Mr. Putin in Helsinki, Mr. Trump was armed with new evidence of Moscow’s hacking during 2016 U.S. presidential election campaigning. But he was refusing — at least in public — to use that knowledge to pressure the Russian president aggressively.

“I go in with low expectations. I’m not going in with high expectations. I can’t tell you what’s going to happen,” Mr. Trump said in an interview with CBS News. [ Source: Washington Times

If Mueller investigation sends official request to question suspects, Russia will do that - Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that if Moscow receives an official request from Mueller investigation, then Russian will question them according to the treaty dating back to the nineties.

US President Donald Trump has stated that the Mueller probe is a "disaster" for the US.

Putin called claims of meddling in the presidential election "nonsense," and requested a single fact to prove the allegation. Trump called Putin's offer to help with the investigation "incredible."
