Tonight’s Saturday Night Cinema feature is ‘Raid on Entebbe’, the true story of a daring Israeli commando assault on the Entebbe Airport in Uganda to free hostages of a Muslim terrorist hijacking. Operation Entebbe or Operation Thunderbolt was a successful counter-terrorist hostage-rescue mission carried out by commandos of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) at Entebbe Airport in Uganda on 4 July 1976. A week earlier, June 27, an Air France Airbus A300 with 248 passengers had been hijacked by Palestinian jihadis
