Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund told Tucker Carlson in a controversial interview that "everything appears to be a cover-up" as it pertains to the Jan. 6, 2021, protests at the U.S. Capitol.

Although Fox News kept that interview under wraps, the National Pulse has begun releasing segments wherein Sund provides critical insights into an event that has been used to great effect by Democrats and other forces antipathetic to former President Donald Trump.
When speaking to Russell Brand in early July, Carlson said he had initially taken an interest in the Jan. 6 protests due to all the "lying about it."

"So, the more time has passed … it becomes really obvious that core claims they made about January 6 were lies," said Carlson. "The amount of lying around January 6, and it was obvious in the tapes that I showed, is really distressing."

Prior to his ouster at Fox, Carlson had aired previously unreleased footage of the protests that appeared to contradict the narrative that had been carefully constructed by the media and the Jan. 6 committee.

When speaking to Brand, Carlson referenced an eye-opening interview he had conducted with Sund while still at Fox News, saying, "I never thought it was a false flag or anything like that. I'm not a conspiracist by temperament. I never thought that. ... And then I interviewed the chief of the Capitol Police, Steven Sund, in an interview that was never aired on Fox, by the way — I was fired before it could air."

Sund, a police officer for over 30 years, had been head of the U.S. Capitol Police from 2019 through the protests, but resigned Jan. 7 amid claims by then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and others that "there was a failure of leadership at the top."

In February 2021, Sund penned a letter to Pelosi and other congressional leaders, noting, "Perfect hindsight does not change the fact that nothing in our collective experience or our intelligence – including intelligence provided by FBI, Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and D.C. Metropolitan Police (MPD) – indicated that a well-coordinated, armed assault on the Capitol might occur on Jan. 6."

Sund further noted that during a meeting with "a dozen of the top law enforcement and military officials from D.C., including the FBI, U.S. Secret Service and the National Guard," no entity "provided any intelligence indicating that there would be a coordinated attack on the United States Capitol."

"The entire intelligence community seems to have missed this," he wrote.

Sund also intimated that the Capitol Police had been set up to fail.

Sund told WTTG-TV that he had asked House and Senate security officials for their permission to bring in the National Guard days ahead of the protests, but was denied. He also indicated he had asked for the National Guard several more times during the protests, but was repeatedly denied until their ultimate arrival at 5:40 p.m. on Jan. 6.

Around 19 minutes into the "Tucker Carlson Tonight" interview, which is being released by the National Pulse piecemeal, Sund says, "If people were reporting the intelligence correctly, if I was allowed to do my job as the chief ... we wouldn't be here. This didn't have to happen," stressing, "I'm a little pissed off."

"Everything appears to be a cover-up," continued Sund. "Like I said, I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but when you look at the information and intelligence they had, the military had, it’s all watered down. ... I’m not getting intelligence, I’m denied any support from National Guard in advance. I’m denied National Guard while we’re under attack for 71 minutes."

"You describe this as a failure to get intelligence to people who needed it, but it sounds like ... they were hiding the intelligence," said Carlson.

"That's what I'm getting at," said Sund. "Could there possibly be actually … they kind of wanted something to happen? It’s not a far stretch to begin to think that. You know, it's sad when you start putting everything together and thinking about the way this played out. ... What was their end goal? You look at what's happening. Was that their end goal?"

Carlson responded, "There's no question that what happened on January 6 has really helped the Democratic Party. It's gravely politicized the U.S. military and the intelligence agencies and the FBI. And those are all, I think, bad for America and violations of the Constitution, but they're all good for the Democratic Party. That's the facts."
Sund agreed, adding that in the wake of Jan. 6, the establishment has seen fit to strip the blindfold of neutrality from Lady Justice.
Raheem Kassam, editor in chief of the National Pulse, noted on Twitter that the Sund interview is "absolutely extraordinary" and emphasized that "none of us are suicidal, for the record."
The next interview excerpt will reportedly broach the subject of Ray Epps and his involvement in the Jan. 6 protests.
Carlson previously indicated Sund had told him, "'That crowd was filled with federal agents.'"

Hunter Biden could have received a plea deal that would have granted him wide-ranging immunity from extraordinary crimes such as illegal foreign lobbying and federal tax evasion if a judge had not stepped in, according to transcripts of his court proceedings.

The hearing, in which Biden pleaded "not guilty," was supposed to be a proceeding where the first son pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor tax crimes and a diversion deal for a felony federal gun charge. The agreement would have allowed him to avoid jail time for the gun charge.

The Biden administration announced on Friday the latest weapons package to Ukraine – said to be worth $800 million and would include cluster munitions. However, Biden and his administration have previously been overwhelmingly against cluster bombs, including declaring last year that the use of the controversial munitions would be a war crime.

During the hour-plus long interview with Russell Brand, Carlson talked about leaving Fox News, loving former President Donald Trump, greatly admiring Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kamala Harris, whose net approval rating was recently found to be the worst for a vice president in NBC News polling history, has elicited a new wave of criticism and mockery with her latest so-called "word salad."

The vice president joined Sunny Hostin, co-host of ABC's "The View," and pro-abortion activist Monica Simpson on Friday to discuss race-specific "reproductive health" at the 2023 Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans.

Harris appeared keen to first define the term, stating, "Well, I think culture is — it is a reflection of our moment in our time, right? And — and present culture is the way we express how we’re feeling about the moment."

"And — and we should always find times to express how we feel about the moment that is a reflection of joy, because every — you know, it comes in the morning," continued Harris. "We have to find ways to also express the way we feel about the moment in terms of just having language and a connection to how people are experiencing life. And I think about it in that way, too."

Merriam-Webster defines "culture" thusly: "The customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group"; or "the integrated pattern of human knowledge, belief, and behavior that depends upon the capacity for learning and transmitting knowledge to succeeding generations."

Harris appeared to have confused the hosts and her audience with her unique definition. Nevertheless, she persisted.

"And we also — I think, is very important that — that leaders — anyone who considers themselves a leader — really understands how anything they say would affect a real human being, as opposed to — you know, otherwise be a poet and write poetry," she added. "But if you want to understand — I don’t mean to dismiss poetry at all. But if you want to understand any concept, you have to ask questions like, 'How would this affect a child?' to have a real understanding of what it is that you’ve proposed."

Harris attempted to elaborate further, but Hostin noted, "We're really almost at the end of our program."

The official Twitter account for the Virginia GOP reacted to Harris' answer, writing, "Kamala Harris is that kid in your freshman English class who forgot about the assignment until the night before it was due and is desperate to meet the word count."

Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) suggested Harris' response called to mind a scene from "Billy Madison," wherein the principal disparages the titular character for a wrong answer.

They pulled the suspected gang members and beat them and then burned them to death.

“More than a dozen individuals riding on board this vehicle were unfortunately lynched by members of the population,” said a statement from the Haitian National Police.

A woman is accused of abandoning her 16-month-old child to die alone so that she could go on a vacation for 10 days, according to Ohio prosecutors.

31-year old Kristel Candelario allegedly left her daughter inside their Cleveland home on June 6 and did not return until June 16 at about 8 a.m.

Cuyahoga County prosecutor Michael O’Malley called the incident "truly horrifying."

O'Malley said Candelario went to Detroit, Michigan, and Puerto Rico on her vacation and when she returned to her home, she called police to report that her daughter was unresponsive. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was later identified as Jailyn Candelario by the Cuyahoga County medical examiner.

She was found in an extremely dehydrated state, according to an affidavit, and her playpen was soiled with feces and urine. Neighbors said that it wasn't the first time the woman had left her daughter alone.

Candelario was indicted on charges of aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, and endangering children.

She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment on Thursday at the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas and was held on a bond of $1 million.

“It is unfathomable that a mother would leave her 16-month-old child alone without any supervision for 10 days to go on a vacation,” said O’Malley.

“As parents, we are supposed to protect and care for our children," he added. "Imagining this child’s suffering, during her last days of life alone, is truly horrifying and we will do everything in our power to seek justice on her behalf.”

Candelario is scheduled to return to court on July 5.

Republican Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina lambasted the Obamas over their response to the decision by the Supreme Court to end affirmative action in higher education on Thursday.

Scott, who is running for president, was asked to respond to statements put out by former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama decrying the decision and criticizing the court.
"I'm running for president because I know America can do for anyone what she has done for me. But sending the message that somehow the color of your skin means that you will not be able to achieve your goals from an educational perspective, from an income perspective or family formation, that is a lie from the pit of hell," said Scott to Fox News.

"We will not be judged solely by the color of our skin," he added. "That's what the ruling said today. But that is the story of America. That is a story of American progress and we can all celebrate that today."

Michelle Obama said her heart was broken for students who were wondering what opportunities might be open to them in the wake of the court decision.

“So often, we just accept that money, power, and privilege are perfectly justifiable forms of affirmative action, while kids growing up like I did are expected to compete when the ground is anything but level,” she wrote in a statement.

The former Democratic president also offered a brief statement about the ruling.

"Like any policy, affirmative action wasn't perfect," he wrote. "But it allowed generations of students like Michelle and me to prove we belonged. Now it's up to all of us to give young people the opportunities they deserve — and help students everywhere benefit from new perspectives."

The 6-3 Supreme Court decision has been criticized by many on the left while conservatives have praised the end of discrimination against Asian-Americans in higher education.

A 71-year-old man and his 61-year-old wife returned to their home in Seattle's North Beacon Hill neighborhood around 1:30 p.m. Sunday to find the place in disarray. The kitchen window was shattered. Various items were out of order. The homeowner ventured farther inside to find the culprit lurking in his living room, wielding a pitchfork.
Cody Burns, a neighbor who lives opposite the victim, told KOMO-TV, "He said he just saw red, and it turned into a scuffle that got violent really quick."

According to Detective Judinna Gulpan of the Seattle Police Department, the 71-year-old tested his two fists against the burglar's five metal tines.
Amid the ensuing battle, the suspect attempted to stab the homeowner with the pitchfork, catching him once in the eye. However, the Odinic 71-year-old proved too spry for the suspect ten years his junior, dodging a fatal thrust and retreating to his bedroom, where he kept his firearm.

The suspect followed the homeowner into the bedroom and wrestled him for control of the gun. Despite the alleged burglar's best efforts, the homeowner managed to break free long enough to draw down on him. He aimed true and pulled the trigger, but the suspect was left still standing. Police indicated that after his firearm failed him, the 71-year-old drew his samurai sword and skewered the suspect.

George Takei was crushed on social media after offering a defense for Pride parade marchers who exposed themselves while children were present.

The incident was documented by video and photographs that showed nude LGBTQ activists riding bicycles during a parade in Seattle, Washington. In some photographs, children can be seen among the spectators.
Critics on the right used the example to lambast the LGBTQ agenda, but some on the left reflexively defended the inappropriate behavior in order to show support for the LGBTQ movement.

Among those was the openly gay "Star Trek" star, who tweeted a defense for the nude bicyclists.

"Even if there were no naked guys on bikes this year, they would find picture or generate them and push the same agenda anyway. There’s no 'fixing' this by calling for self-censoring," Takei tweeted on Sunday.

The tweet was hit with the dreaded ratio, with only 1,456 "likes" but more than twice as many comments to the tweet. It was also bombarded by replies lambasting Takei.

"Óscar Cabrera, a Dominican player who is part of the Cantbasket club, is under observation at the Valdecilla Hospital, after suffering a syncope during the EBA League game that the Cantabrian team played against CB Santurzi, which led to the suspension of the match in the absence of 2.49 minutes for the conclusion of the first quarter," the report stated.

Fox News reported, "Following his death, social media posts surfaced in which Cabrera Adames suggested he developed the rare heart disease after he received two doses of a COVID vaccine."

Óscar Cabrera Adames allegedly wrote in a previous post on Instagram, "I got a damn myocarditis from taking a f***ing vaccine. (I got 2 doses of Pfizer) And I knew it! Many people warned me."

Cabrera said the COVID-19 vaccine was a requirement for him to play professional basketball, and that he had no pre-existing health conditions.

"But guess what? It was compulsory or I couldn’t work. I am an international professional athlete and I am playing in Spain," he reportedly said. "I have no health problem, nothing, not hereditary, no asthma, NOTHING! I suddenly collapsed to the ground in the middle of a match and almost died. I’m still recovering and I’ve had 11 different cardiology tests done and guess? They find nothing."

He purportedly added, "I have no cholesterol, no fat, nothing! 7% body fat 93% muscle. When they give me the diagnosis, they tell me that I won’t be able to play for at least 5 months until my heart goes down again and they can’t give me that medicine."

According to the American Heart Association, "Myocarditis is a serious though rare condition where inflammation develops in the myocardium, or middle muscular layer of the heart wall. Myocarditis can weaken the heart and its electrical system. As a result, the heart’s ability to pump blood declines. The condition may be acute and resolve quickly. Or it may be chronic, lasting longer than two weeks. In severe cases, myocarditis may lead to stroke, heart attack, heart failure or death."

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said, "Cases of myocarditis and pericarditis have rarely been observed following receipt of COVID-19 vaccines used in the United States. Evidence from multiple monitoring systems in the United States and around the globe support a causal association between mRNA COVID-19 vaccines (i.e., Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech) and myocarditis and pericarditis."

Citing a study, NBC News reported last month, "An overactive immune response to the mRNA COVID vaccines may be the culprit in rare cases of heart inflammation seen in some young men after they receive the shot."

On Thursday, Cabrera suddenly died at age 28 while reportedly undergoing a stress test at a health center in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Dominican sports commentator Héctor Gómez said of Cabrera's sudden death on Instagram, "Basketball player Óscar Cabrera has just died of a heart attack while performing a stress test, at the age of 28."

Outkick reported, "During the test, a medical professional attaches electrodes to the patient’s chest. These electrodes connect to a machine that records the electrical activity of the heart (ECG). By watching this screen, doctors can record the heartbeat while the patient exercises. But this stress test was too much for Cabrera, and it caused a heart attack."
