Fully vaccinated Dana White contracts COVID-19, takes same treatment as Joe Rogan, 'feeling like a million bucks' in less than 24 hours

Dana White revealed he contracted COVID-19 during the Thanksgiving holiday, but he is already feeling better after being administered the same coronavirus treatment that Joe Rogan took when he was infected.
The UFC president appeared on "The Jim Rome Podcast" on Wednesday, where he provided a health update. White believes he contracted COVID-19 after going to his family's Thanksgiving celebration in Maine.
"We just went up to my place in Maine, and for Thanksgiving, it’s tradition, we go up there, and somebody had it, and we get back, and we all tested positive for COVID," White told host Jim Rome. "Literally the whole family and my family up in Maine, too."
White returned home on Saturday, but on Sunday, he noticed that he didn't have his sense of smell – a symptom of the illness.
"I cold plunge and steam every day," White explains. "So I get out of the cold plunge and steam, and I spray the eucalyptus and I was like, 'What the hell?' I couldn’t smell anything. So I opened the bottle and start sniffing the bottle of eucalyptus, and I'm like, 'Yeah, I got no smell.' I said, 'You know what this means.'"
Don't miss out on content from Dave Rubin free of big tech censorship. Listen to The Rubin Report now.
"I literally got out of the steam and got on my phone and called Joe Rogan," White said.
“I get up, 9 o’clock Monday morning, and I get tested. He said get monoclonal antibodies in you as soon as possible, so I did," White said of Rogan's advice. "By noon, I had the monoclonal antibodies in me. Then he told me to do a NAD drip. I did that right after."
"I get up Tuesday getting ready to shave," he continued. "Cleaning my razor, I could smell the alcohol. My taste and smell were back by the next day by 11 o’clock. Then I took a dose of ivermectin. Then yesterday I did a vitamin drip, and today I’m doing another NAD drip."
"Could not feel better. I’m feeling like a million bucks," White exclaimed. "I’m doing two-a-day workouts for the next 10 days while I have COVID and I’m in quarantine. I got my smell and taste back in less than 24 hours."
Rome asked White, 52, why he consulted Rogan first before a doctor.
"Listen, I’m vaccinated," White responded. "It’s not like I’m some crazy anti-vax conspiracy theorist or some of that stuff but Rogan is a very brilliant guy. Very smart guy who talks to the best and the brightest out there, and I’m not a believer in the narrative."
"But at the end of the day, this is a free country. Cause what happens when you get this stuff, they tell you stay home for the next 10 days until you don’t test positive. That doesn’t seem smart to me. Just like when we went through COVID, I believe in finding solutions to problems and answers.”
"Rogan has worked with over 30 or 40 people that have done this and he swears by it, and he’s a good friend of mine that I’ve known for over 20 years. So yeah, I believe in what he’s saying. I believe the things he explained to me on how this thing works made sense to me," White said.
"If you got COVID, I would urge you to do this," White told Rome. "Not only did I believe in it before I did it, now I've actually done it. I'm on day three of COVID. Day three of COVID, smell and taste is back. I could not feel better and I'm doing two-a-day workouts while I'm going through COVID."
"I’m attacking this thing with the methods that Rogan has learned from some very smart people," he added. "I’m going to keep testing every two days until I’m negative and then I’m going to get back to work ASAP."
White said he and his family are currently in isolation. He hopes to attend the Ultimate Fighting Championship's next event on Saturday – UFC Vegas 44 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"If I test negative, then absolutely, positively I’ll be there," he said. "I’m going to do the exact protocol that’s supposed to be done to make sure I’m clean and can go and be around people again. As soon as that’s 100% clear, then I’ll be back to work."
Previously, All-Pro Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers consulted Rogan on COVID-19 treatments after he tested positive for coronavirus. After subscribing to the same treatment that Rogan was prescribed, Rodgers was activated off the reserve/COVID-19 list, just 10 days after he tested positive for coronavirus — the earliest he was eligible to return.
On Oct. 28, the unvaccinated Rogan tested positive for COVID-19 and "immediately threw the kitchen sink at it." His treatment consisted of "all kinds of meds, monoclonal antibodies, ivermectin, Z-Pak, prednisone, everything."
By Sept. 1, he said, "I actually feel pretty f***ing good."
On Sept. 3, Rogan, 54, tested negative for COVID-19.

Commenters on social media are calling a Washington state father a "hero" in response to reports that he allegedly rescued his daughter from sex traffickers and later killed the man he believed responsible for selling his daughter into sex slavery.
What happened?
In a press release issued on Monday, the Spokane Police Department said that it had discovered the remains of a 19-year-old male — whom they believe to be the former boyfriend of 60-year-old John Eisenman's daughter — stuffed in the trunk of an abandoned vehicle.
Describing the incident as a "complex case," police reported that Eisenman had set off to avenge his daughter after learning that she had been sold into a Seattle-area prostitution ring in October 2020, by her then-boyfriend, the deceased.

Former President Barack Obama was slapped with a reality check Saturday after urging Virginia voters to ignore what he called "fake outrage" and "trumped up culture wars" that he claimed are being peddled by "right-wing media."
What did Obama say?
While campaigning for Democrat Terry McAuliffe in Virginia, Obama denounced focusing on cultural issues, instead saying that Americans should be concerned with recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We don't have time to be wasting on these phony trumped up culture wars, this fake outrage that right-wing media peddles to juice their ratings," Obama said.

A new study finds that simple, over-the-counter aspirin may be able to protect COVID-19 patients from extreme risk, including the need for mechanical ventilation, the Jerusalem Post reported.
What are the details?
New research from George Washington University has determined that treating COVID patients with aspirin reduced the risk of severe illness by nearly half.
The report noted that an aspirin regimen in more than 400 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the United States cut the need for ventilation by 44%, slashed ICU admission by 43%, and reduced overall in-hospital mortality rates by 47%.
Dr. Jonathan Chow, one of the study's researchers, said, "As we learned about the connection between blood clots and COVID-19, we knew that aspirin — used to prevent stroke and heart attack — could be important for COVID-19 patients. Our research found an association between low-dose aspirin and decreased severity of COVID-19 and death."

A low-dose aspirin regimen has long been touted as potentially lifesaving for people at risk of heart attack or stroke or who are afflicted by blood clotting issues.
Don't miss out on content from Dave Rubin free of big tech censorship. Listen to The Rubin Report now.
Chow added, "Aspirin is low-cost, easily accessible, and millions are already using it to treat their health conditions. Finding this association is a huge win for those looking to reduce risk from some of the most devastating effects of COVID-19."
What else?
This isn't the only study professing the possible benefits of aspirin in COVID patients. Earlier in October, Medical Express reported that researchers from the University of Minnesota and Basel University in Switzerland came to the same conclusion.
The researchers' findings were published in Lancet's Open Access eClinical Medicine and revealed that patients on blood thinners before getting COVID were admitted less often to the hospital despite being older and having more chronic medical conditions than their peers. The findings also revealed that blood thinners — whether started before or after COVID-19 infection — reduced death by nearly half.
Lead author Sameh Hozayen said, "We know that COVID-19 causes blood clots that can kill patients. But, do blood thinners save lives in COVID-19? Blood thinners are medications prescribed to prevent blood clots in patients with a prior blood clot in their lungs or legs. They also prevent blood clots in the brain secondary to abnormal heart rhythms, like atrial fibrillation. Blood thinners are the standard of treatment in these diseases, which is why we looked at data to see if it impacted hospitalizations related to COVID-19."
"We already know that overwhelmed hospitals have a higher risk for death among their patients, so reducing hospitalization may have a positive impact during a COVID-19 surge," Hozayen added.
"Unfortunately, about half of patients who are being prescribed blood thinners for blood clots in their legs, lungs, abnormal heart rhythms or other reasons, do not take them," Hozayen continued. "By increasing adherence for people already prescribed blood thinners, we can potentially reduce the bad effects of COVID-19.

"The View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg was outraged to discover what taxing the "1 percent" really meant while commenting on the "tax the rich" dress worn by democratic socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.).
Goldberg made the comments on the show Tuesday while the other co-hosts were praising Ocasio-Cortez for her "courageous" act of wearing a dress with a socialist message at the exclusive Met Gala on Sept. 13 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
"You know what freaked me out about this? I've been trying to figure out — because they say the 1% — you know how much the top 1% is considered? People who make about $421,000 a year make you part of the 1%!" Goldberg said.

For the first time in the history of "The Glenn Beck Program," former President Donald Trump joined Glenn to give his take on America's direction under President Joe Biden compared to his own administration. He explained why Biden's horrific Afghanistan withdrawal was "not even a little bit" like his plan, and why he thinks it was "the most embarrassing event in the history of our country."
Plus, the former president gave his opinion on China's potential takeover of Bagram Air Base, the Pakistani Prime Minister, and Gen. Mark A. Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Glenn asked President Trump how similar the Biden administration's withdrawal from Afghanistan was to his administration's plan.

"Not even a little bit," Trump answered. "We had a great plan, but it was a very tenuous plan. It was based on many conditions. For instance, you can't kill American soldiers. ... You have to understand, I did want to get out. But I wanted to get out with dignity, and I wanted to take our equipment out. And I didn't want soldiers killed. ... What [Biden] did was just indefensible. He took the military out first and he left all the people. And then we became beggars to get the people out. I had a plan to get them out very quickly. But first, the Americans would go out."
Don't miss out on content from Dave Rubin free of big tech censorship. Listen to The Rubin Report now.
Trump told Glenn that his plan included maintaining Bagram Air Base and explained why he would not have left "a single nail" behind in Afghanistan for the Taliban to seize.
"We were going to keep Bagram open," he explained. "We were never going to close that because, frankly, Bagram is more about China than it is about Afghanistan. It was practically on the other border of China. And now we've lost that. And you know who is taking it over? China is taking it over. We spend $10 billion to build that base. It's got the longest, most powerful runways in the world. And China has now got its representatives there and it looks like they'll take it over. Glenn, it's not believable what's happened. You know, they have Apache helicopters. These are really expensive weapons, and they have 28 of them. And they're brand-new. The latest model."
Glenn mentioned recent reports that Gen. Milley, America's top military officer, made "secret phone calls" to his counterpart in China while President Trump was in office.
"I learned early on that he was a dope," Trump said of Gen. Milley. "He made a statement to me — and I guarantee that's what happened to Biden — because I said, 'We're getting out of Afghanistan. We have to do it.' And I said, 'I want every nail. I want every screw. I want every bolt. I want every plane. I want every tank. I want it all out, down to the nails, screws, bolts ... I want every single thing. And he said, 'Sir, it's cheaper to leave it than it is to bring it.'
"The airplane might have cost $40 million, $50 million ... millions and millions of dollars. So, you think it's cheaper to leave it than to have 200 pilots fly over and fly all the equipment out? ... I said, you've got to be nuts. I mean, give me a tank of gas and a pilot and I just picked up a $40 million-dollar airplane. It was amazing. So, I learned early that this guy is a dope. But what he did, is he hurt our country ... and he shouldn't have been allowed to do it. And bad things should happen to him."

Tearful ethics professor delivers emotional 'lesson' on vaccine mandates before being placed on leave
NEWS
PAUL SACCASeptember 12, 2021
An ethics professor in Canada gave what could be her final lesson at the university she has been employed at for the past 20 years. The lesson was regarding vaccine mandates. The professor's employer has implemented mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations, which she believes is unethical.
Dr. Julie Ponesse is an ethics professor at Ontario's Huron University College, which is affiliated with Western University. Ponesse, who holds a Ph.D. in ethics, delivered an emotional message about vaccine mandates in a video that has since gone viral.
"Today, I'm going to teach you a short lesson on a universally accepted ethics of coercing people into medical procedures," Ponesse said into the camera. "I'll be the example."

"My employer has just mandated that I must get a vaccine for COVID-19," the professor said. "If I want to keep working at my job as a professor, I have to take this vaccine."
"Here's my conundrum. My school employs me to be an authority on the subject of ethics. I hold a Ph.D. in ethics and ancient philosophy and I'm here to tell you, it's ethically wrong to coerce someone to take a vaccine," she said. "If it happens to you, you don't have to do it. If you don't want a COVID vaccine, don't take one. End of discussion. It's your own business."
Don't miss out on content from Dave Rubin free of big tech censorship. Listen to The Rubin Report now.
"But that's not the approach of the University of Western Ontario, which has suddenly required that I be vaccinated immediately, or not report for work," she continued.
"I am facing imminent dismissal after 20 years on the job," Ponesse said for not wanting to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
The professor explained that she is not an anti-vaxxer, and that she has had "plenty of vaccines in my life."
Ponesse noted she doesn't work in a "high-risk environment."
"I'm a teacher. I'm a university professor. My job is to teach how to think critically; to ask questions that might expose a false argument," she stated.
Ponesse questioned the effectiveness of the vaccines, "Nobody is promising that I won't get COVID, or transmit COVID if I get the vaccine."
"I'm entitled to make choices about what does and what does not enter my body regardless of my reasons," she said.
"This is my first and potentially my last lesson of the year," Ponesse said as her voice cracked after getting emotional. "In the spirit of Socrates, who was executed for asking questions, this lesson will consist of only one question."
The professor asked her students, "When a person has done the same job to the satisfaction of her employer for 20 years, is it right, or is it wrong to suddenly demand that they submit to an unnecessary medical procedure in order to keep their job?"
"The employee is not allowed to ask questions," the professor said. "She may only submit to the procedure or be fired. To my first-year students, is this right or is this wrong?"
Ponesse ended the video as she broke down into tears, and put her face in her hands.
Ponesse was condemned for calling the vaccines "experimental" and questioning the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccinations.
Arthur Caplan, the founding director of the Division of Medical Ethics at New York University Langone Medical Center, told the Toronto Star, "I think she is flat out wrong and it's not just a difference in opinion about morals, some of her facts are just incorrect. She's impugning the vaccine, calling it experimental, those are just not true assertions."
The National Post disputed the professor's claims:
Health authorities in Canada, and many other countries, approved the vaccines for emergency use after confirming their safety and efficacy. Almost three quarters of Canadians have received one dose of an approved vaccine — Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca — and more than 67 percent are fully vaccinated. In the U.S., the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gave full approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in August 2021. Preliminary studies have found that the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines are about 90 percent effective against COVID-19 and the vast majority of cases are now among the unvaccinated.
Ponesse emailed her department head on Tuesday to inform him that she would not get the COVID-19 vaccine, wear a face mask while teaching, or submit to coronavirus testing.
"It was within, I think, half an hour of sending that email that I received an email from my dean stating that I would be dismissed and put on temporary paid leave," Ponesse told the National Post.
The email reportedly informed the professor that she "will be placed on a temporary paid leave and you will not be allowed to attend campus."
Huron requires mandatory vaccination on campus, except for people who have received an exemption, but they must take a COVID-19 test twice a week.
"There is no testing option for those who choose not to be vaccinated," the Huron website states. "Those without proof of vaccination or an exemption will not be permitted on campus."
Ponesse explained that she is not seeking an exemption, "I want to be very clear in rejecting it in principle, I don't think we ever should have been in the place where we're looking at the situation of mandates, so I'm not just seeking an exemption to one, I'm challenging the very foundation of the idea."
Ponesse did receive support from People's Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier, who called the administrators at Western University "fascist a**holes."

Former President George W. Bush on Saturday seemingly compared "violent extremists at home" to the Al Qaeda terrorists responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The comparison was widely reported as a thinly veiled allusion to those Americans who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
What did Bush say?
While commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, which happened during his first presidential term, Bush warned of "growing evidence" that terrorism threats do not only come from abroad.
"We have seen growing evidence that the dangers to our country can come not only across borders, but from violence that gathers within," Bush said. "There is little cultural overlap between violent extremists abroad and violent extremists at home."

The Washington Post reported that Bush, [w]ithout naming it, Bush seemed to condemn the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol." CNN agreed, publishing a story with the headline, "Bush alludes to US Capitol rioters when condemning violent extremists behind 9/11 attacks."
Bush delivered his speech at the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Forty people — 33 passengers and seven crew members — were aboard United Airlines Flight 93 when it was hijacked by terrorists. Those passengers and crew members bravely thwarted the terrorists' plan to fly that plane into the U.S. Capitol building or White House. After storming the flight deck, United 93 crashed in rural Pennsylvania.
What did Bush say about the Capitol Riot?
Bush vocally condemned the events of Jan. 6, releasing a statement that called the riots "sickening and heartbreaking."
"This is how election results are disputed in a banana republic — not our democratic republic," Bush said.
"I am appalled by the reckless behavior of some political leaders since the election and by the lack of respect shown today for our institutions, our traditions, and our law enforcement," Bush continued. "The violent assault on the Capitol — and disruption of a Constitutionally-mandated meeting of Congress — was undertaken by people whose passions have been inflamed by falsehoods and false hopes. Insurrection could do grave damage to our Nation and reputation."
"In the United States of America, it is the fundamental responsibility of every patriotic citizen to support the rule of law," Bush added. "To those who are disappointed in the results of the election: Our country is more important than the politics of the moment. Let the officials elected by the people fulfill their duties and represent our voices in peace and safety."
Editor's note: This story originally stated that 44 people were victims on Flight 93. In fact, there were 40 victims, 33 passengers and seven crew members. We regret the error.

He was one of the first in Washington to argue we had no business being in Afghanistan...
And today – after a 20-year war that sucked TRILLIONS from Americans' pockets – this same government insider is stepping forward with an even more urgent warning.
He asks:
The politicians and pundits who were the biggest cheerleaders for this war are rushing to blame President Biden for getting the U.S. out...
But who's REALLY to blame?
Is it:
Congress, for continuing to fund the war?
The generals and military officers who lied about the progress we made?
The military industrial complex, who got richer because of the war?
No matter how you look at it... the corruption runs deep.
But what's most shocking, according to this former beltway insider... is how this debacle has exposed the mainstream media for its complicity in the government's lies.
Because it's WAY bigger than just Afghanistan.
As he says:
Consider how just weeks ago we were told that if you got the vaccine, you wouldn't get COVID.
Then a few days later... the CDC releases data from a Massachusetts study, showing that 74% of the people who caught COVID were fully vaccinated!
Is it any wonder so many Americans have lost faith in "the science"... the media... and in their elected officials?

Drone strike ordered by Biden's Pentagon mistakenly targeted innocent aid worker, killing 10 Afghan civilians, including 7 children: report
NEWS
PAUL SACCASeptember 11, 2021
MARCUS YAM / LOS ANGELES TIMES
A United States military airstrike against a suspected terrorist in Afghanistan may have actually killed an innocent man who worked for a U.S. aid group in Kabul and his family, a new report claimed.
The U.S. launched an airstrike on Aug. 29, one day before the final American evacuation flights out of Kabul.
"U.S. military forces conducted a self-defense unmanned over-the-horizon airstrike today on a vehicle in Kabul, eliminating an imminent ISIS-K threat to [Hamid] Karzai International airport," Capt. Bill Urban, a spokesman for U.S. Central Command, said on the day of the bombing.
"We are confident we successfully hit the target," Urban asserted. "Significant secondary explosions from the vehicle indicated the presence of a substantial amount of explosive material."

"We are assessing the possibilities of civilian casualties, though we have no indications at this time," he concluded. "We remain vigilant for potential future threats."
On Aug. 30, Major General William Taylor told reporters, "U.S. military forces conducted an unmanned over-the-horizon air strike on a vehicle known to be an imminent ISIS-K threat. This self-defense strike successfully hit the target near Kabul airport. Significant secondary explosions from the targeted vehicle indicated the presence of a substantial amount of explosive material."

On Sept. 1, Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said, "We had very good intelligence that ISIS-K was preparing a specific-type vehicle at a specific-type location. We monitored that through various means, and all of the engagement criteria were being met. We went through the same level of rigor that we've done for years."
"I don't want to influence the outcome of an investigation — but at this point we think that the procedures were correctly followed and it was a righteous strike," Milley stated.
During an Aug. 31 speech marking the end of nearly 20 years of U.S. military action in Afghanistan, President Joe Biden boasted of the Kabul airstrike and the drone attack in the Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan.
"We struck ISIS-K remotely, days after they murdered 13 of our servicemembers and dozens of innocent Afghans. And to ISIS-K: We are not done with you yet," Biden stated in the White House State Dining Room.
However, a New York Times article disputed the Biden administration's account of what actually happened during the Kabul airstrike, and contended that the airstrike killed an innocent family and not ISIS terrorists.
According to the report, drone operators began tracking a car belonging to Zemari Ahmadi, a white Toyota Corolla, which is reportedly the same type of vehicle that ISIS militants used to escape after launching rockets at the Kabul airport.
Newly released security camera footage shows Ahmadi filling containers with water at his employer's office and loading them into his car. He was transporting colleagues to and from work, and they were seen carrying laptop computers.
"According to his relatives, as Mr. Ahmadi pulled into his courtyard, several of his children and his brothers' children came out, excited to see him, and sat in the car as he backed it inside," the Times reported.
The U.S. military launched a Hellfire missile fired from a Reaper drone at the vehicle, believing that it was being packed with explosives for an attack on the airport.
"At first I thought it was the Taliban," Samia Ahmadi, Ahmadi's daughter who was inside the family's home when the missile attack occurred, told the New York Times. "But the Americans themselves did it."
"I saw the whole scene," Samia Ahmadi said. "There were burnt pieces of flesh everywhere."
Zemari Ahmadi and nine members of his family, including seven children, were killed by the drone strike, according to his brother, Romal Ahmadi. The drone strike allegedly killed Ahmadi, three of his children, three of his brother's children, two 3-year-old girls, and one of his cousins.
Samia's fiancé, Ahmad Naser, a former army officer and contractor with the U.S. military, was allegedly among the 10 people killed in the drone strike.
The Pentagon claimed there were secondary explosions from the airstrike when explosive materials in the car burst into flames. However, the New York Times disputes that assertion.
"But an examination of the scene of the strike, conducted by the Times visual investigations team and a Times reporter the morning afterward, and followed up with a second visit four days later, found no evidence of a second, more powerful explosion," the report declared.
Three weapons experts told the NYT that the small crater underneath the car was consistent with a Hellfire missile.

Zemari Ahmadi, who is believed to be the target of the drone strike, worked for 14 years as a technical engineer in Afghanistan for the California-based non-governmental charity organization Nutrition and Education International, which helps feed hungry Afghans.
Steven Kwon, the president of NEI, said Ahmadi "was well respected by his colleagues and compassionate towards the poor and needy," and that he had recently "prepared and delivered soy-based meals to hungry women and children at local refugee camps in Kabul."
The charity reportedly applied for him to move to the U.S. as a refugee.

The drone strike in Kabul happened three days after the suicide bomb attack at the Kabul airport that killed 13 U.S. service members and 169 Afghans.
Pentagon press secretary John Kirby doubled down the assertion that the airstrike eliminated an "imminent threat."
"U.S. Central Command continues to assess the results of the airstrike in Kabul on Aug. 29. We won't get ahead of that assessment," Kirby said. "However, as we have said, no other military works harder than we do to prevent civilian casualties."
"Additionally, as Chairman Milley said, the strike was based on good intelligence, and we still believe that it prevented an imminent threat to the airport and to our men and women that were still serving at the airport," he added.

Far-left co-host of "The View" Joy Behar on Wednesday's show implied that unvaccinated COVID-19 patients don't deserve medical help because they've "chosen to defy the science" and have "chosen to listen to the lies on Fox [News]" — all while patients with other needs can't get hospital beds.
What are the details?
Former Utah Congresswoman Mia Love — a Republican — sat at "The View" table in former co-host Meghan McCain's seat and argued that it's a "slippery slope" for doctors to say they won't treat unvaccinated patients as that decision could lead to them saying they won't treat people for other illnesses.
Behar then stepped in, at first agreeing with Love that doctors denying health care to smokers and the morbidly obese could be problematic — but then she declared that such patients have developed "long-term" habits compared to the one-time decision by unvaccinated people to not get a COVID-19 shot "based on false information."

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Tuesday signed an election security bill into law that tightens restrictions on voting by mail, among other reforms, overcoming objections from Democrats who fled the state in a publicity stunt to rally support for federal legislation that would undo the new reforms.
Abbott's signature ends months of political drama in Texas, where Republican lawmakers were forced to hold two special legislative sessions after House Democrats left the state for Washington, D.C., to deprive the GOP majority of a needed quorum to meet and pass bills. While in the nation's capital, the Democrats lobbied federal lawmakers for legislation that would override any reforms enacted by the Republicans, claiming that efforts to make elections more secure would disproportionately suppress the minority vote, weakening a Democratic constituency.

Joe Rogan weighs suing CNN, Jim Acosta over ivermectin 'horse dewormer' claims: 'They're making s**t up!'

Joe Rogan slammed CNN on Tuesday over the network's repeated claims that ivermectin — a controversial anti-parasite drug that the popular podcaster used after being diagnosed with COVID-19 — is a "horse dewormer," even floating the idea that he may sue the network for defamation.
"Well, well well, if it isn't old 'horse worm Rogan,'" guest host Tom Segura quipped Tuesday during an episode of Rogan's show, referencing the negative coverage Rogan received over his decision to use the drug.
"Bro, do I have to sue CNN?" Rogan responded while laughing. "They're making s**t up!"
"They keep saying I'm taking horse dewormer," he continued. "I literally got it from a doctor. It's an American company. They won the Nobel Prize in 2015 for use in human beings and CNN is saying I'm taking horse dewormer. They must know that's a lie."
Rogan was widely chastised last week after announcing he had elected to throw "the kitchen sink" at the virus, using "all kinds of meds, monoclonal antibodies, ivermectin, Z-Pak, prednisone, everything" after testing positive. Scores of social media commenters even wished death on the podcast host.
Don't miss out on content from Dave Rubin free of big tech censorship. Listen to The Rubin Report now.
But despite the death wishes, Rogan announced only days later that he had recovered from the virus, even completing a negative test, proving the pathogen was no longer present in his body.
CNN, along with the large majority of other mainstream media outlets, have characterized the drug primarily as a "horse dewormer" that "has become popular among fringe and anti-vaccine communities."
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration notes that "ivermectin is approved for human use to treat infections caused by some parasitic worms and head lice and skin conditions like rosacea." But the agency has adamantly advised that humans not take ivermectin to treat COVID-19.
During the podcast episode Tuesday, Rogan touted the drug for helping in his recovery and noted that several doctors advised him to take the medication.
The podcaster also pushed back at CNN and one of the network's anchors, Jim Acosta, for defaming him.
"CNN was saying I am a distributor of misinformation," Rogan said. "I don't know what's going on, man."
"You know, there is a lot of speculation," he continued. "One of the speculations involves the emergency use authorization for the vaccines. That, in order for there to be an emergency use authorization, there has to be no treatment for a disease."

Six planes on a mission to rescue more than a hundred
The Taliban is holding hostage six planes chartered by Glenn Beck charity to rescue Americans left behind by Biden admin
Americans wanting to leave Afghanistan were grounded by the Taliban as negotiations continued with the State Department Monday.
The evacuation effort was a part of a mission chartered by Mercury One, the charity founded by conservative media personality and TheBlaze founder Glenn Beck.
Newsweek confirmed the details through an NGO working on the evacuation.
According to the report, at least 1,000 people were waiting to board the planes at an airport in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif.
"The planes are currently empty and its passengers are still waiting in their safe houses for clearance for takeoff from the Taliban," said one NGO official to Newsweek. "I have more than 1,000 people on the master manifest that want to fly, of which 123 are Americans and the rest are Special Immigration Visas."
Earlier on Sunday, the State Department sent an email to members of Congress to alert them about the negotiations with the Taliban. The email reportedly said that the planes had permission to land in Doha, Qatar, but only after the Taliban allowed them to leave.

Bombshell documents suggest Dr. Fauci was 'untruthful' about federal funding for risky coronavirus research in China NEWS
CHRIS PANDOLFOSeptember 07, 2021
The U.S. agency led by White House COVID adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci funded research experiments to infect humanized mice with novel coronaviruses at a laboratory in Wuhan, China, newly released documents reveal.
Over 900 pages of documents were obtained by The Intercept as part of a Freedom of Information Act request against the National Institutes of Health. The documents detail how EcoHealth Alliance, a U.S.-based nonprofit group that supports field research on coronaviruses around the world, awarded federal funding to study bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Newly revealed details include two previously unpublished grant proposals that were funded by Fauci's National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. One of those grants appears to show gain-of-function research — experiments that intentionally make viruses more transmissible among mammals, and particularly among humans — being funded by U.S. taxpayers through NIAID's grant to EcoHealth Alliance and a subsequent sub-award to the Wuhan University Center for Animal Experiment. The grant was awarded for a five-year period between 2014 and 2019.
One of the grants, titled " Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence," outlines an ambitious effort led by EcoHealth Alliance president Peter Daszak to screen thousands of bat samples for novel coronaviruses. The research also involved screening people who work with live animals. The documents contain several critical details about the research in Wuhan, including the fact that key experimental work with humanized mice was conducted at a biosafety level 3 lab at Wuhan University Center for Animal Experiment — and not at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, as was previously assumed. The documents raise additional questions about the theory that the pandemic may have begun in a lab accident, an idea that Daszak has aggressively dismissed.
The bat coronavirus grant provided the EcoHealth Alliance with a total of $3.1 million, including $599,000 that the Wuhan Institute of Virology used in part to identify and alter bat coronaviruses likely to infect humans. Even before the pandemic, many scientists were concerned about the potential dangers associated with such experiments. The grant proposal acknowledges some of those dangers: "Fieldwork involves the highest risk of exposure to SARS or other CoVs, while working in caves with high bat density overhead and the potential for fecal dust to be inhaled."
Dr. Richard Ebright, a molecular biologist at Rutgers University, reviewed the documents and determined that the research described fits the definition of gain-of-function experiments.
"The viruses they constructed were tested for their ability to infect mice that were engineered to display human type receptors on their cell," Ebright told The Intercept. He indicated that the documents show the Chinese researchers were able to infect humanized mice with two different types of novel coronaviruses.
In a Twitter thread, Ebright elaborated that the materials "show that the 2014 and 2019 NIH grants to EcoHealth with subcontracts to WIV funded gain-of-function research as defined in federal policies in effect in 2014-2017 and potential pandemic pathogen enhancement as defined in federal policies in effect in 2017-present."
He also said the documents confirm that one of the experiments produced several " laboratory-generated SARS-related coronaviruses," and that one of these engineered viruses "was more pathogenic to humanized mice than the starting virus from which it was constructed."
...and thus not only was reasonably anticipated to exhibit enhanced pathogenicity, but, indeed, was *demonstrated*… https://t.co/EpTwg2EBQv
— Richard H. Ebright (@Richard H. Ebright)1630978394.0
"The documents make it clear that assertions by the NIH Director, Francis Collins, and the NIAID Director, Anthony Fauci, that the NIH did not support gain-of-function research or potential pandemic pathogen enhancement at WIV are untruthful," Ebright said.
Fauci, the director of NIAID, has repeatedly denied that his agency or any part of the National Institutes of Health provided federal funding for gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. In July, Fauci accused Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) of lying after Paul pressed him on NIAID's funding for coronavirus research in Wuhan.
The Wuhan Institute of Virology lab has been the focus of efforts to discover the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic. While many scientists maintain that the most likely origin for the SARS-CoV-2 virus is natural spillover — a bat coronavirus, for example, making the evolutionary leap to infect humans — others have raised questions about the possible role the Wuhan lab played in the virus' origins, given its proximity to the first outbreak of COVID-19 in Wuhan and the research that was conducted there.
The most relevant question is whether Chinese scientists in Wuhan performed gain-of-function experiments to engineer coronaviruses, and whether its possible one of those viruses escaped and caused the COVID-19 pandemic.
Scientists have so far been unable to conclusively prove that SARS-CoV-2 had a natural origin, which has led many in the scientific community to call for intense scrutiny of the Wuhan lab as part of any investigation of the origins of the pandemic. President Joe Biden in May ordered the intelligence community to investigate the matter, and the classified August 27 report he received was inconclusive.
But the new documents obtained by The Intercept support accusations that scientists in Wuhan, at the Wuhan University Center for Animal Experiment if not the Wuhan Institute of Virology, were performing the kinds of dangerous experiments that many had previously warned could cause a pandemic under unsafe conditions.
And according to Sen. Paul, the documents show that "Fauci lied."
Surprise surprise - Fauci lied again And I was right about his agency funding novel Coronavirus research at Wuhan.… https://t.co/YSugJ4LJsu

An Oklahoma hospital corrected the record Saturday after the mainstream media pushed a false story claiming "gunshot victims" had been turned away after experiencing a surge of patients who purportedly overdosed on ivermectin.
What is the background?
Rolling Stone published a headline that said, "Gunshot Victims Left Waiting as Horse Dewormer Overdoses Overwhelm Oklahoma Hospitals, Doctor Says."
The story was built on a single interview that Oklahoma-based physician Dr. Jason McElyea gave to KFOR-TV. In that interview, McElyea claimed "the [emergency rooms] are so backed up that gunshot victims were having hard times getting to facilities where they can get definitive care and be treated" because people with COVID-19 are allegedly overdosing on ivermectin.
What is the truth?
The hospital that KFOR stated McElyea was associated with — Northeastern Health System - Sequoyah — released a statement Saturday revealing that McElyea is "not an employee" there, and explained the hospital has not experienced a single case of ivermectin overdose.
Don't miss out on content from Dave Rubin free of big tech censorship. Listen to The Rubin Report now.
Although Dr. Jason McElyea is not an employee of NHS Sequoyah, he is affiliated with a medical staffing group that provides coverage for our emergency room. With that said, Dr. McElyea has not worked at our Sallisaw location in over 2 months.
NHS Sequoyah has not treated any patients due to complications related to taking ivermectin. This includes not treating any patients for ivermectin overdose.
All patients who have visited our emergency room have received medical attention as appropriate. Our hospital has not had to turn away any patients seeking emergency care. We want to reassure our community that our staff is working hard to provide quality healthcare to all patients. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify this issue and as always, we value our community's support.
In an interview with KXMX-FM, hospital administrator Stephanie Six reaffirmed what the statement said.
"We at NHS-Sequoyah have not seen or had any patients in our ER or hospital with ivermectin overdose," Six said. "We have not had any patients with complaints or issues related to ivermectin."
"I can't speak for what he has witnessed at other facilities but this in not true for ours," she explained. "We certainly have not turned any patients away due to an overload of ivermectin related cases. All patients who have come into our ER have been treated as appropriate."

Mullin described how difficult it was to try to help American citizens and Afghan allies to get out of Afghanistan.
"It came out that they needed a State Department, or a government entity to sponsor their flight going in, that's the only way they could get in, and no one would sponsor their flight, even though it was designated to get these twenty Americans out," said Mullin.

He went on to say that he as a member of Congress could sponsor a flight to give other departments cover.
"When you see a problem, how do you say no if you can be an asset? And they believed I could be an asset," he explained.
Mullin said that his plane circled the Kabul airport for an hour but was not allowed to land.
"You don't know who shut you down from landing?" Baier asked.
"I don't know who shut us down. But I think it was 100 percent directed from the State Department," Mullin replied.
He also accused the Biden administration of lying when they said that Americans who wanted to get out of Afghanistan could get out.
"We quickly realized that the president and the State Department, General Milley, General McKenzie, were lying to the American people by saying everybody that wanted to get out could get out," said Mullin.
"That is a lie, that is a bold-faced, one hundred percent lie, because we're working with these individuals," he added.
Mullin said that he had confirmed there were people still trying to get out of Afghanistan, including American citizens. He said that he had a list of fifty people that were in safe houses still waiting to be evacuated.

U.S. officials are probing reports that amid America's chaotic evacuation of Afghans from Afghanistan some older men were admitted along with with girls they claimed as "brides," according to the Associated Press.
U.S. officials in the United Arab Emirates and Wisconsin have noted multiple instances of Afghan girls being presented to authorities as the "wives" of significantly older men, the outlet reported.
An Aug. 27 situation report dispatched to every American embassy and consulate abroad and to military command centers in Florida highlights possible issues pertaining to young girls and older men, some of whom allege to have multiple wives at Wisconsin's Fort McCoy Army base, according to the AP, which obtained relevant sections of the document.

'As many abortions as possible': Inside the 'race' to terminate pregnancies before Texas ban kicked in; women 'relieved,' 'happy' after having last-minute procedures
Desperate abortion-seekers and abortion providers described their "race against time" in the final hours before Texas's new ban on abortions kicked in Wednesday, and it shows just how little thought is given to countless unborn lives that are routinely terminated.
What are the details?
At a Whole Woman's Health clinic in Fort Worth, it was "a race to perform as many abortions as possible until midnight," the 19th reported. After that, the new state law — which prohibits abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, or roughly six weeks gestation — would make having the procedure nearly impossible.
That Tuesday, scores of patients gathered outside the clinic hoping to undergo a last-minute operation, but there were too many patients and too little time.

Horowitz: CDC endorsed use of ivermectin … for Afghan refugees!
"I have long been convinced that Nature has all the solutions we need to solve our past ... that will be the primary source of the treasures and solutions that we seek." ~Professor Satashi Omura, Nobel co-laureate for the discovery of ivermectin Looking at 2019 CDC guidance, one has to wonder if one of the reasons why there is such a run on ivermectin is because our own government is using it. And no, not for horses, but for refugees. Yet these same government agencies are running a blood libel-style smear campaign against the drug and its users by misleading people into conflating it with a veterinarian version of the drug, leading many people to think it's some sort of poison for humans. In the process, they are leaving thousands of COVID patients without any other options for treatment.

What are the details?
In a Monday interview with India's News18, Khatera, 33, recalled the horrific attack that took place in 2020 when her father — a former Taliban fighter — tipped off the Islamist militant group that his daughter was employed.
Women, under Sharia law, are not permitted to work.
In October, Khatera said that her father, who remains unnamed at the time of this reporting, purportedly conspired with the Taliban to stage an attack on her as she returned home from work one day.
During the attack, Khatera — who worked for the police at the time — was shot at least eight times, stabbed, and had her eyes knifed out of their sockets before Taliban fighters left her for dead.
She was pregnant during the horrific attack.
"It's tough for the world to imagine what we built in the past 20 years," she told the outlet. "We built dreams. Now they are gone. It's all over for us. Women who work with the government or police were being hunted and threatened even before the Taliban had taken over the country. Now, the concern has gone beyond letting women work. At this point, I am scared if they would leave these women alive. They don't just kill women — they make animals feed on their bodies. They are a blot on Islam."
Khatera said that the Taliban does not view women as "living, breathing human beings," but "merely some meat and flesh to be battered."
"[The Taliban] first torture us and then discard our bodies to show as a specimen of punishment," she said. "Sometimes our bodies are fed to dogs. I was lucky I survived it. One has to live in Afghanistan under the Taliban to even imagine what hell has befallen on women, children, and minorities here."
After the attack, Khatera fled with her husband and child to Delhi, where she continues to be treated for injuries sustained in the attack.
"The Taliban don't allow women to visit male doctors, and at the same time, don't let women study and work," she told the outlet. "So then what is left for a woman? Left to die? Even if you think we are just reproductive machines, there is not common sense but pure hate. How does a woman deliver her child according to the dictum of these men with guns without medical care?"

The increase, which is meant to be permanent, hikes food stamp stipends by more than 20% from their pre-pandemic levels and affects every single one of the program's 42 million beneficiaries, the New York Times first reported.
"The move does not require congressional approval, and unlike the large pandemic-era expansions, which are starting to expire, the changes are intended to last," the Times added in its report.
The SNAP program, designed to provide food assistance to low-income families and individuals, has been steadily growing since its inception in 1974. It now feeds about 1 in 8 Americans.
In a news release, the U.S. Department of Agriculture explained that as a part of the revamped Thrifty Food Plan, beneficiaries will receive an additional $36 a month. Before the coronavirus pandemic, the monthly stipend was $121.
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack described the increase as an investment in the future.
"A modernized Thrifty Food Plan is more than a commitment to good nutrition — it's an investment in our nation's health, economy, and security," Vilsack said. "Ensuring low-income families have access to a healthy diet helps prevent disease, supports children in the classroom, reduces health care costs, and more."
In conversation with the Times a week earlier, Vilsack added that the food stamp safety net helps "stabilize our democracy."
"We may have a Constitution and a Declaration of Independence, but if we had 42 million Americans who were going hungry, really hungry, they wouldn't be happy and there would be political instability," he explained.
The USDA changes come as a result of the 2018 Farm Bill and President Biden's COVID-19 relief executive order issued Jan. 22. In the order, Biden called for the program to be expanded and the nutrition plan to be revised in order to accurately account for "the true cost of a basic healthy diet."
"To set SNAP families up for success, we need a Thrifty Food Plan that supports current dietary guidance on a budget," Stacy Dean, deputy undersecretary for food, nutrition, and consumer services, noted in the news release. "Too many of our fellow Americans struggle to afford healthy meals. The revised plan is one step toward getting them the support they need to feed their families."
According to the Times, critics of the plan argue that an increase isn't needed since the program is designed to cover only part of the beneficiary's monthly grocery bill, not all of it.
They also argue that the monthly stipend would go a lot further if beneficiaries spent it on nutritious foods rather than unhealthy snacks. USDA data shows that 10% of SNAP program stipend money is spent on sugary drinks.

International allies mock Biden over Afghanistan defeat, question American credibility: 'Alarm bells everywhere'
NEWS
CHRIS ENLOEAugust 16, 2021
Not only is President Joe Biden being mocked for his disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal in the homeland, but international allies are also targeting Biden after witnessing the swift victory of emboldened Taliban terrorists.
What are the details?
In what is being described as worse than America's humiliating evacuation from Saigon in 1975, the haphazard Afghanistan withdrawal is eroding the confidence of international allies that his administration is capable of fulfilling his foreign policy promises.
British MP Tobias Ellwood, chairman of the Defense Committee in the British Parliament, mocked Biden's "America is back" foreign policy.
"Whatever happened to 'America is back'?" Ellwood told the Washington Post.
"People are bewildered that after two decades of this big, high-tech power intervening, they are withdrawing and effectively handing the country back to the people we went in to defeat," Ellwood added. "This is the irony. How can you say America is back when we're being defeated by an insurgency armed with no more than [rocket-propelled grenades], land mines and AK-47s?"
Riad Kahwaji, whom the Post described as "the Inegma security consultancy in the United Arab Emirates, which hosts one of the biggest American military contingents in the Middle East," told the newspaper that Biden's withdrawal "is raising alarm bells everywhere."
"The U.S.'s credibility as an ally has been in question for a while," Kahwaji said. "We see Russia fighting all the way to protect the Assad regime [in Syria], and now the Americans are pulling out and leaving a big chaos in Afghanistan."
Meanwhile, Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook, director of the German Council on Foreign Relations, told the Post that German lawmakers are furious with the decision of Biden's administration.
"The Biden administration came to office promising an open exchange, a transparent exchange with its allies. They said the transatlantic relationship would be pivotal," Clüver Ashbrook said. "As it is, they're playing lip service to the transatlantic relationship and still believe European allies should fall into line with U.S. priorities."
Anything else?
Biden has attempted to defect blame for the disastrous withdrawal on his predecessor, former President Donald Trump. But those attempts ring hallow.
While it is true that Trump initiated the Afghanistan withdrawal, the withdrawal strategy falls squarely on Biden's shoulders. In fact, Biden was confidently telling reporters just last month the Taliban would not retake control of Afghanistan, denying comparisons to Vietnam.
However, as the Wall Street Journal editorial board pointed out, Biden has overturned countless Trump-era policies. Why is Biden's administration now claiming that Trump's May 1 withdrawal deadline is one they could not overturn, too?
From the WSJ:
Note that Mr. Biden is more critical of his predecessor than he is of the Taliban. The President has spent seven months ostentatiously overturning one Trump policy after another on foreign and domestic policy. Yet he now claims Afghanistan policy is the one he could do nothing about. This is a pathetic denial of his own agency, and it's also a false choice. It's as if Winston Churchill, with his troops surrounded at Dunkirk, had declared that Neville Chamberlain got him into this mess and the British had already fought too many wars on the Continent.
Biden, in fact, reportedly ignored top military commanders, who recommended retaining a nominal American force in Afghanistan to help maintain security and facilitate a transfer of security responsibilities.
Instead being motivating by the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Biden approved the immediate full withdrawal of U.S. forces, a disastrous plan whose consequences are being laid bare as the world watches.
