King of the Jews!

John 19:21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not,
The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.

When we look at the relationship between Jesus and the Jews the term ‘King
of the Jews’ takes an interesting phase. When Jesus was asked if He was the
King of the Jews, He did not deny nor accept it.

In the OT there is no prophecy about ‘King of the Jews’ but these is about
King of Jerusalem and also Lion of Judah. The term ‘King of the Jews’ was
first used by the Wise-men /‘Magus’ who came to give respects to a king
just born.

We normally use the term Jews for people who follow Judaism which is not a
belief approved by God and was against the Law of the Lord even though they
refer to His books and claim to follow the Law of Moses (Law given by the
Lord through Moses) but due to their lack of understanding of scriptures
they did things contrary to scriptures and were part of the false Church
(the first daughter of the whore while the Catholic Church being the second
daughter). The term Jews comes from the word Judah and spoke about the
people who dwelled in Judah. Jesus as Lion (symbolizing Righteous one) of
Judah was King of Judah (people of praise) but was not the king of the
Jewish people (who follow Judaism) and it was for this reason He did not
deny it nor accepted it.

Jesus as man in flesh was the Prince of Peace and Prince of Israel (Sons of
God) but as Spirit, Lord and Christ was King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We
need to understand whom do we refer to when we say Jesus or Lord Jesus
Christ, even though it is the same being. We do not worship the man Jesus
but worship the Lord Jesus Christ who is God / God the Son.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You alone are God, You are Who You Are and there is none other than
You. Lord we pray we understand the difference in You and the humbled You
so that we understand who we are and what we will become. You humbled
yourself so that we could be lifted up in You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 23:31-33
31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of
them which killed the prophets.
32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
33 [Ye] serpents, [ye] generation of vipers, how can ye escape the
damnation of hell?

Matthew 2:2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have
seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Matthew 27:11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked
him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou
sayest.

2 Samuel 7:8-16

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the
government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince
of Peace.

Acts 5:31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand [to be] a Prince and a
Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and]
the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth.
Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Revelation 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall
overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that
are with him [are] called, and chosen, and faithful.

Revelation 19:11-16

Miracles cause people to believe

John 12:11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and
believed on Jesus.

Sign and wonders always attract people and make them to believe, especially
when there is an unbelievable miracle. It is for this reason many change
religions and beliefs multiple times.

Many religions claim signs and wonders and in India one will see such
claims in every religion. But there are some like Islam where when their
prophet was asked for a sign and wonder since he could demonstrate one he
said his book is the greatest miracle and in his book he claims to have
split the moon into two and joined it back, he also claims to have traveled
to different levels of Heaven sitting on a (flying) donkey! When we come to
Hinduism the Vedic Hinduism is sober to miracles but not the modern
Hinduism which we see practiced today and is based on mythological stories
like existence of aeroplanes, nuclear weapons, time travel etc. in 700BC -
5000BC and before that!

The difference between Christianity and other religions is that whatever is
written in the Bible has evidence and this is not only from Christian
sources but also from non-Christian sources. Non Christians who were
historians and also those who hated Christianity have in their hatred,
documented the existence of people and the events.

The miracle of Lazarus was one of the most unimaginable miracle which Jesus
performed and it caused such an upheaval amongst the Jews (who hated Jesus)
that they believed in Jesus in masses. We see in today’s message the chief
Priest wanting not only to kill Jesus but also Lazarus (the evidence) on
whom the miracle was performed.

Are miracles good? If miracles can cause people to believe in Christ then
why does not God do great wonders and get the whole world to believe in
Him? Also there are real miracles that do happen in other religions, does
that mean their gods live and are gods?

We see today’s message says the Jews believed in Jesus and does not says
they became His disciples. Today we have a large number of people who
believe in Jesus for various reasons but there are few who know Him and
follow Him. People follow people who call themselves ‘Christians’ thus call
themselves ‘Christians’ but they do not follow Christ.

Yesterday a brother called me to speak to a member of his congregation who
got deceived to follow a ‘Christian’ heretic cult called ‘New Jerusalem’.
If we keep people are infants in Christ just feeding them baby food and not
solid meat, praying for them when they have problems and for healing when
they are sick then we will surely see them becoming victims to vanity soon
or later. It is not just the wolves but God Himself says He will test us to
see if we have His Word / Law in our hearts.

It is only when we are founded on solid rock that is the Word of God and we
have close relationship with God that we can be sure of being not affected
by deceit of this world or be shaken by any event. So let us not seek
signs, wonders and miracles but seek knowledge, understanding and
relationship with the Lord.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are Truth and those who know the Truth
know You. Lord we pray we seek knowledge, understanding and relationship
with You. We pray we are not misled by signs, wonders and miracles to
worship other gods and people who come in your name. We pray we are rooted
in your Word and your Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 12:9-11
9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came
not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had
raised from the dead.
10 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to
death;
11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed
on Jesus.

Deuteronomy 13:1-3
1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth
thee a sign or a wonder,
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee,
saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us
serve them;
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer
of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the
LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Lay down your life

John 10:17, 18 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my
life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it
down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it
again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Yesterday we saw by applying logic the scripture was understood very well
so as to give the proper interpretation. In today’s scriptures if we use
logic it may seem to fail since we have an individual stating to have to
power to lay down His life and to take it back. Can any being lay down and
take it back? If a person dies does the person exist to take it back? It is
scriptures like these who cause stumbling blocks for many Muslims to accept
Christ. The problem is not that the scripture is illogical but the basis of
our understanding is.

We understand life and death as per our natural understanding. We relate
life to the body of a person and do not realize life is the spirit and not
the body. When the spirit is in the body it lives and the inner-man / soul
is moldable but when it leaves the body the spirit still lives but the body
ceases to live and soul freezes to what it is.

Spiritual death is different from natural death. One principle of God we
need to understand is anything the Lord gives He does not take it back, if
we misuse it He may cause it to flow unto or taken by others, worse that
same blessing can become a cause of our disaster. Spiritual death does not
mean the end of existence of a person but means existence of that being
minus the goodness of God. It means the spirit will live its life term in
suffering caused by itself.

When we look at life of man, due to sin it was reduced to 120years (max)
but in reality it was made to live thousands of years. So if when we die
the natural death we still live to complete our spiritual life where were
we go. It is only in Heaven where we can renew life via the Tree/River of
Life thus eternal life is possible only if we have access and continue to
have access to (upper) Heaven.

Christ laid down His life did not mean He spiritually died and ceased to
live, it means He lowered His life and yet existed therefore He had the
ability to lift it up. He did this so that we humans who are the lowest
beings of Heaven can be transformed to a higher being form like the Angels
(animals do not exist in Heaven, only beings having the image of God in
them can exist in Heaven).

Bible says as a human He died and He went to Hell for our sins were on Him,
but since there was no sin in Him, He could not be kept in Hell thus by His
resurrection (ascension from Hell) He broke the curse of Hell in the lives
of all those who believe in Him.

Today’s message is not for general knowledge but a question to us, if we
are willing to lay down our lives for others. We need to firstly remember
we do not die when we lay down our lives in fact we have a better life, a
life of eternity in Christ when we do that. Bible says unless we do not die
(spiritual live form) we will not have life (the new transformed life form)..

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Creator of all that live. You Lord are Omnipresent and thus
all knowing. You Lord created the Angels although You knew a third would
fall. You Lord created man although You knew all would fall. You became man
so that You could transform mere man to take the place of the Angels that
fell. Lord we pray we understand your plans in our lives so that we receive
it...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Genesis 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and
the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and
descending on it.

Psalms 8:5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast
crowned him with glory and honour.

Psalms 78:25 Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full.

Psalms 104:4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

Psalms 148:2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.

Matthew 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the
end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.

Matthew 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall
gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do
iniquity;

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit:

Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father
with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some
have entertained angels unawares.

Be submissive to rulers and authority

Titus 3:1,2 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be
obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to
avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all
people.

In logic we have the ‘AND’ and the ‘OR’ conditions. If there exist the
‘AND’ condition then both the conditions need to be fulfilled, if one is
fulfilled and the other is not then the logic fails unlike in ‘OR’.

Today’s message tells us to be submissive to those in authority but does
not tell us to blindly abide in what they command of us. The whole sentence
has multiple conditions and uses the ‘AND’ logic condition. So if
authority/ruler tells us to quarrel, speak evil, harm anyone, do evil or be
uncourteous to anyone then we as Christians are not compelled to submit to
authority. Also let us understand we as Christians are not called to take
arms against authority or those who rule us for the conditions should not
work against them as it should not work against anyone else.

Today’s message does not specifically speak of civil authority but also
spiritual authorities. We should abide to all authorities provided they do
not lead us to evil against any person and primarily against the Lord. Our
protest should be in words and should be clear.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and Holy God. You Lord are Lord of order and not of
chaos, confusion. You Lord are Living God and nothing is without your
approval or concede. You Lord also time to time test if your people have
your Word in them. We pray we discern all things and people especially
those given to rule over us accord to your Word...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Titus 3:3-11
3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to
various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated
by others and hating one another.
4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared,
5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but
according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of
the Holy Spirit,
6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to
the hope of eternal life.
8 The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so
that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to
good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.
9 But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels
about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.
10 As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then
twice, have nothing more to do with him,
11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 10 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

Post  Admin Fri 07 Jun 2019, 11:37 pm

The Lord spoke

Haggai 2:1 In the seventh [month], in the one and twentieth [day] of the
month, came the word of the LORD by the prophet Haggai, saying,

Yesterday’s message which was on how God communicates with us I had seen a
‘Believer’ comment, after the era of the Apostles the Lord never speaks to
people and those how claim so are deceived by Satan.

It is sad many Believer Churches still strongly carry a great part of the
Catechism of the Catholic Church. They neither believe in the Gifts of the
Holy Spirit, nor laying of hands to heal, nor do deliverances, and above
all they sideline the Holy Spirit.

After resurrection Jesus found it fit that He steps aside and let His
Spirit take over the task of salvation of man. Jesus as man made a way for
man to be saved and it is the Holy Spirit that does the work of leading man
along that way of salvation. Thus without the working of the Holy Spirit
there is no true salvation, one becomes a goat and not a sheep and on
Judgment Day they do not enter Heaven but suffer the Lake of Fire.

Jesus after His resurrection said His Spirit - the Spirit of Truth will
teach us all things, He will comfort us and help us inherit that which is
of the Son.

The Catholic Church to deceive people and destroy their salvation replaced
the importance of the Holy Spirit with Mother Mary (a spirit that comes as
Mary the mother of Jesus). On the other hand we see false Believer Churches
have lifted man (Preachers, Biblical Commentators, Pastors, etc.) to that
position of the Holy Spirit. The common thing that they do is become
eternal guides (Pastors) to people. They do not realize there is only one
eternal guide that is the Holy Spirit, we are just temporary guides to
people. Jesus and Paul show how they stepped aside after a while. The
relationship between Paul and Timothy is an example; Paul called Timothy
his spiritual son but later as he matured his associate, his colleague in
God’s Kingdom. A hard fact is that a Pastor can be pastored by his or her
student if he or she does not grow spiritually.

Today it is the Holy Spirit - the Spirit of the Son who speaks to us and
Jesus said what I communicate by thoughts, we should bring to light and
that which is spoken via visions and dreams, preach on housetops. The
promise of the Holy Spirit speaking to us in vision and dreams is given
both in the OT and the NT and is a sign of spiritual growth and maturity.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Living God. You Lord are Love and love without communication
is no love. Lord You love to speak to your people and it is the darkness in
people that separates them from You thus they do not hear your voice. Lord
we pray more and more people hear your voice, that they have a personal
relationship with You greater than which the Prophets of the OT had...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 10:27 What I tell you in darkness, [that] speak ye in light: and
what ye hear in the ear, [that] preach ye upon the housetops.

John 14:16-17, 26
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever;
17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it
seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with
you, and shall be in you.
26 But the Comforter, [even] the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in
my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all
that I said unto you.

John 16:7-15

Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my
Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Acts 2:17 And it shall be in the last days, saith God, I will pour forth
of my Spirit upon all flesh: And your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, And your old men shall
dream dreams:

2 Corinthians 12:1 I must needs glory, though it is not expedient; but I
will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

The Living God who communicates

Hebrews 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time
past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Man as a being is always reaching out to God or gods unceasingly in many
ways and most of the time they are foolish ways. In every religion one will
find people praying and talking to the one whom they worship but one never
hears them claiming the one whom they worship talking back to them like one
finds in Christianity. The foolish one way communication is not restricted
to other religions alone but also to Christianity.

Prayer is still hardly understood even amongst Christians. A person fasting
and praying, or one who rattles long prayers at high pitch are always
looked up to as spiritually strong or mature person which actually is the
opposite. A person who is spiritually strong does not need to fast to pray,
nor needs to rattle long prayers, in fact the most powerful prayer of Jesus
is not the one said in the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus shed sweat like
drops of blood, His most powerful prayers were the simple words ‘Thank You
Father’, which He did before all His great miracles. It is not the words
that make a prayer powerful, but is the faith that goes behind it.

Communication with God should be a two way communication. We spend a large
part of our prayer time talking to God without realizing He knows our
thoughts and sees the hidden, invisible things also, we rarely spend time
listening to Him.

In the start of this year I was shaken spiritually and left a distance from
God for I had not heard Him since long so I had to retreat to the brook
like Elijah did. I had to reduce my so called ‘ministry work’ and spend
time being ministered by the Lord. Through these 6 months I have seen a
rejuvenation of my spirit and started hearing the Lord communication to me.
Though it is not like the early days when on daily biases I would receive
messages in various ways from the Lord. At that time I would be like a one
man army and nothing was impossible to me. Nowadays the fact I receive
communication from God is reassuring to me that I am not very far from Him.

Talking to God is not that important to a person who is in the Lord as
hearing from Him is. Let us ask ourselves when was the last time we had
received a communication from the Lord? If we are not hearing from God then
are we worshiping an idol or Baal (unknown god)?

Like today’s verse tells us our God always desires to communicate with us,
and it is we who block this communication by our lack of faith,
prioritizing this world and its things over the Kingdom of God, our
troubles, our foolishness...

Let us spend more time hearing the Lord instead of telling Him what He
knows. Believe me He communicates in various ways, even like being audible
as a man is to another man, as He did with Moses for I have experienced it
myself once. Note one does not need to be perfect or absolutely without
sin, nor one needs to be very knowledgeable on theology to hear Him, one
just needs to passionately seek His voice of His Spirit.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Living God. Since You are living You communicate and always
desire to communicate with man, but it is we who block this communication
in various ways. Lord we pray we being down these barriers we have erected
like or our lack of faith or wrongly placed desires. Help us to hear You
more and more...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Kings 17:1-6

Mark 4:23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

Romans 11:8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of
slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not
hear;) unto this day.

2 Timothy 4:3-5
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but
after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having
itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be
turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an
evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Mary exposes hearts of many

Luke 2: 35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the
thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

Almost all Biblical commentary writers interpret today’s verse as Simeon
the Prophet prophesying the suffering which Mary would undergo seeing her
son suffer on the cross, but in reality it is something else.

My becoming a Christian Believer from a Catholic was largely due to Mary.
Before like most Catholics I too would worship (thou like them I would deny
doing so) and pray to her. It was through my investigation of the
‘Mysteries of the Rosary’ that I realized the Mary whom Catholics worship
has nothing to do with Mary the mother of Jesus and was a spirit which
deceives people away from God, this same spirit previously deceived even
the Israelites as Ashtoreth / Queen of Heaven.

Yesterday we saw how people like to use God but do not really desire God.
Today again the Lord is emphasizing on the same topic. God knowingly
allowed the deceiving spirit to come as Mary and to be worshipped. In
today’s message we see Simeon talk not about the heart of Mary being
pierced with a sword but the soul of Mary. It talks of a prophecy after the
death of Mary. All those who worship Mary go against the Word of God like
the words which the spirit speaks in the so called ‘apparitions of Mary’.

Mary can be called the greatest revealer of hearts, for she exposes the
hardness of the hearts of fake Christians who want of God but do not want
God. She is the key person for the cause of many souls being punished in
the Lake of Fire.

Today the Lord is telling us that everything that is allowed or has been
happening since long does not necessarily mean is good. We as Christians
need to discern everything that is happening and has happening since long
with the Word of God, and if it not according to His Word we should not
only outright reject it but stand against it.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You alone are God. Your Word says there is only One God. You are
Spirit and your Kingdom is a Spirit Kingdom which is eternal. Lord we pray
we understand it is only through your Word and your Spirit we who are
corrupt beings can be transformed in spirit and be reconciled to You. Lord
we pray we discern every word, every action and every sight with your Word
so that we do not fall and be consumed...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Proverbs 5:
1 My son, attend unto my wisdom, [and] bow thine ear to my understanding:
2 That thou mayest regard discretion, and [that] thy lips may keep
knowledge.
3 For the lips of a strange woman drop [as] an honeycomb, and her mouth
[is] smoother than oil:
4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.
5 Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.
6 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable,
[that] thou canst not know [them].
7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of
my mouth.
8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:

Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of
her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive
not of her plagues.

Jesus the Nazarene, the exhibit

Acts 2:22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man
approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did
by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

If we go through the Greek text the above verse comes more like this:-
“Men of Israel, listen to these words: This Jesus the Nazarene was a man
exhibited/displayed by God with miracles, wonders, and signs that God did
among you through Him, just as you yourselves know.

One may think Jesus did the greatest miracles, signs and wonders thus was
the chosen one or because He was the chosen one thus He did greatest
miracles, signs and wonders. If we look at the Bible there were others who
also did as such or even greater miracles, signs and wonders (leaving for
Lazarus’s miracle all others were also done by people like Elisha, Elijah).

The scripture does not only talk of the signs and wonders that Jesus did,
it introduces Him firstly as a Nazarene. Jesus of Nazareth and Jesus the
Nazarene are two different things.

Jesus of Nazareth talks of His origin from the place Nazareth which was
fulfilment of a prophecy that the savior would come from that place. The
scripture does not even use the term ‘Christ’ so does not address to His
appointment, His designation or mission. All the descriptions address to
what He did, for the term ‘Nazarene’ speaks of a lifestyle that was taken
as a vow. In the OT we see Samson had taken the same vow and thus has
supernatural powers. The powers were not in his hair but in his vow, his
lifestyle, the moment he broke the last vow which was of cutting his hair
(it was symbolic - hair symbolizes grace) he lost that supernatural power.

Just a couple of days back an unbeliever to whom I was sharing the Gospel
told me of a complication in her pregnancy. The child was in its 5th month
in the womb and was not fully formed, it even had some sections of its
vertebrate missing. She told me she and her husband wanted to abort the
child. When I heard this I was saddened and asked her to give God at least
10days before they go ahead and she agreed. I felt God would get the job
done, yet later that day I prayed and sought the will of Lord on it and I
got a different response. He told me He desired people to know Him more
than see signs and wonders. Later I too realized the couple did not want
Him but only miracles from Him so the next day I instructed them to go
ahead with whatever plans they had since all doctors told them there was no
hope the child would survive even the nine months. Even in this I hopped
she would question me as to why and I would fight with the Lord on her
behalf but she did not.

We think people come to know God by miracles, signs and wonders which is
proven wrong for the Israelites that left Egypt saw some of the greatest
signs and wonders yet leaving for a few they all perished (spiritually),
same with some cities during the time of Jesus.

Today’s scripture tells us the power of a Christian is identified in his or
her lifestyle. If we want to experience continual power of God in my lives
then we need to change our lifestyle. The early Christians were called
‘People of the Way’ all because of the way they lived their lives. If we
are failing to see the power of God manifest in us and through us then let
us inspect the lifestyle we are living, is it a Christian lifestyle, or a
worldly lifestyle?

Let us not seek signs and wonders but by our lifestyle as Christians let
signs and wonders follow us.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty, Holy and Righteous God. You Lord are Spirit and your
Kingdom is a Spirit Kingdom. Lord You commanded that we overcome this
natural world if we want to see your glory shine in us, we can experience
Heaven on earth only if we live a more spiritual life than a natural life.
Help us to be sober in our desires of this world and hunger, thirst for
that which is of your Spirit Kingdom...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 4:48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye
will not believe.

Matthew 11:21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if
the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon,
they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

Mark 16:17-18
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they
cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it
shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall
recover.

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and
shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible,
they shall deceive the very elect.

The two things that hinder our race

Hebrew 12:1 Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so
great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth
so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set
before us,

Today’s message talks to our race of salvation and this race is driven by a
great could of witnesses. Although it is the Word and Spirit of the Lord
that makes salvation possible yet it the testimonies of their efforts that
drives us. What is important to note is as we run this race the testimonies
gather further and the cloud grows which in turn makes the race easier.

There is also another factor today’s message tells us about that that is
the hindrance to this race and they are our burden and our sins. The term
burden primarily means problems but can also include worldly/carnal
desires. To hinder our race as time passes the enemy increases temptation
to desires of this world and tendency to be crushed under worldly problems
and responsibilities.

Let us understand less of burden and less of sins helps us run the race
more effectively. The race is to the goalpost of becoming an overcomer so
the race is not against anyone but against our own old inner-man which
hinders us from running this race.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are a Holy God. We, your children are called to be holy so need to
overcome the corruption in our inner-man. Lord we pray we understand even
though we minister to others ultimately we are working on our own selves
like working in a gym. Lord we pray we reduce our worldly burden and sins
such that we run this race better. We pray are not deceived to believe that
a bigger ministry or more fame and riches (blessings) makes us greater
runners of this race but can ironically become additions to our burden.
Lord we pray we become overcomers in those areas we are set for, so that as
a body we overcome totally...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have
peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have
overcome the world.

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that
the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin..

Romans 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Ephesians 4:22-25
22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which
is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in
righteousness and true holiness.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour:
for we are members one of another.

1 John 2:14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him
[that is] from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because
ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the
wicked one.

1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because
greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith
unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of
life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 10 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

God blesses in all areas
Romans 15:27 Yea, it hath been their good pleasure; and their debtors they
are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual
things, they owe it [to them] also to minister unto them in carnal things.

A few days back I saw a post of an Nigerian Pastor stating God desires to
bless people firstly in worldly riches and then with salvation!

Prosperity Gospel tries very hard to bring worldly religion into
Christianity. What Prosperity Gospel does is like ceasing the infant from
the bosom of its mother and killing it. Most Christians are destroyed not
out in the world but in Churches and by preaching of so called ‘Christian’
Preachers who preach contrary to the Word. It is so shocking to hear an
icon American Preacher of yesteryears state he went for a private plane(s)
because he did not want to be held in a tube with demons (referring to
general public as demons)!

The term Father means creator, protector and provider. We have natural
fathers but they are not our creators, our protectors, or providers, it is
God who does it through them that is why Jesus said not to call any man our
creator, protector or provider, He did not mean we should not call our
natural fathers as ‘father’.

In Hebrew the word ‘Abba’ for Father has ‘Ab’ which means love, in it. God
is also called Al Shaddai in OT which is translated as ‘Almighty God’ but
in reality the word means ‘Strong Breasted One’. God is both our spiritual
Father and Mother, yet we always use the term ‘Father’ only for Him for a
reason. In the natural both our parents together represent Him and we
understand more of Him through them.

Although God is Spirit, He made us spirit first and then put us in the
natural and though He wants us to overcome the flesh yet it does not please
Him to see us suffer in our natural needs and thus provides for us even in
that area. But it is not God’s desire to tempt us to bad things thus does
not desire to give us so much worldly things that will make us lose our
spirits and thus lose Him. The alarming thing which people do not
understand is, if God does give us abundance in the natural, it is to test
if we worship worldly gods and worldly things; like He did to Solomon. God
exposes hardened hearts of people by putting them in situations that make
them harder.

By today’s message God is telling us, we who are God’s children are called
to imitate Him. If He provides for us all our spiritual needs as well
provides for ours natural needs, so also we who are called to concentrate
on spiritual ministering of people should not ignore ministering them in
their natural needs. But let us not test them or ourselves to destruction
by reversing the priority of things that is put natural things above
spiritual things.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You God are everything for us. We who are your
children are called to imitate You so we pray Lord we be merciful to others
for You are Merciful God, we love others for You are Loving God, we be
compassionate to others for You are Compassionate God... we reflect your
light unto others. We pray Lord our actions preach more than our words as
we minister people in both spiritual as well as natural needs...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father on the earth: for one is your
Father, [even] he who is in heaven.

1 Corinthians 9:11-19
11 If we sowed unto you spiritual things, is it a great matter if we shall
reap your carnal things?
12 If others partake of [this] right over you, do not we yet more?
Nevertheless we did not use this right; but we bear all things, that we may
cause no hindrance to the gospel of Christ.
13 Know ye not that they that minister about sacred things eat [of] the
things of the temple, [and] they that wait upon the altar have their
portion with the altar?
14 Even so did the Lord ordain that they that proclaim the gospel should
live of the gospel.
15 But I have used none of these things: and I write not these things that
it may be so done in my case; for [it were] good for me rather to die, than
that any man should make my glorifying void.
16 For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of; for necessity
is laid upon me; for woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel.
17 For if I do this of mine own will, I have a reward: but if not of mine
own will, I have a stewardship intrusted to me.
18 What then is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may make the
gospel without charge, so as not to use to the full my right in the gospel.
19 For though I was free from all [men,] I brought myself under bondage to
all, that I might gain the more.

Acts 6:1-4
1 Now in these days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying,
there arose a murmuring of the Grecian Jews against the Hebrews, because
their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
2 And the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and
said, It is not fit that we should forsake the word of God, and serve
tables.
3 Look ye out therefore, brethren, from among you seven men of good
report, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint over this
business.
4 But we will continue stedfastly in prayer, and in the ministry of the
word.

The Historical and DeityJesus
Luke 24:24 - And certain of them which were with us went to the
sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.

Among all mankind there is no person who has influenced mankind like one
person by the name Jesus. Even those who are not His followers
acknowledge Him on one way or another in their life.

The Gregorian calendar which is followed throughout the world is divided
on the life of Jesus. The words used to denote dates BC and AD are
connected to Jesus Christ. Among all religious or spiritual figureheads
none have made an impact on mankind like Jesus did.

Among all religions worldwide the top 2 are Christianity and Islam, and
their human figureheads being Jesus Christ and Mohammed. Jesus was such
an impact that even the second acknowledged the first, even though the
first directly warned about not following the second or anyone else.

No one can deny Jesus as being a perfect person, many tried to defame
His character with lies but over time all of them got exposed one after
the other.

The one factor of Him that sets Him apart from all others is His death
and resurrection. No person or religious figurehead who has claimed to
be a Man of God or God man has been able to achieve victory over death
like Jesus did. This factor was one factor that shook all those who
lived during the times of Jesus so much so that in the first 10 years
after His death we have many people from various parts of the world who
wrote on this event. Even though some tried to distort the truth but yet
they acknowledged the fact that on the third day after Jesus died His
body was missing from the tomb in which it was kept. Roman historical
records confirm the fear of the Jews and Romans that the disciples of
Jesus would take His body after His death and create a conspiracy thus
the tomb was sealed with a large stone and not only that, guards were
posted outside it.

As per the traditions of the Egyptians followed by the Jews in certain
parts of Israel on the third day they would come back to the tomb and
perform the final rites to the body and it was when they went to do this
that they found that the tomb was empty (they would place coins on the
eyes of the body which was a Egyptian pagan practice).

This factor has shaken each and every person even though they are not
followers of Jesus. Mohammed knowing this factor would write him off
denied Jesus' crucifixion in the Quran saying Jesus was neither
crucified nor resurrected but was taken up by 'Allah' (Surah 4:157-158).
About someone else being a substitute (namely Judas Iscariot) was later
conceptualised not by Mohammed but many, many years later when people
mostly Muslims started seriously taking up the fact of the death and
resurrection of Jesus. What is funny in the Quran one place out of fear
Mohammed denies Jesus' died and resurrected but at the same time in many
places acknowledges Jesus would die and be resurrected by 'Allah' (Surah
19:15, 33). In one place Mohammed quotes (according to him) the words of
the just born infant Jesus stating His death and resurrection. Mohammed
states Jesus as Prophet (Man of God) then later makes him a liar by
denying the words of the Prophet Jesus; the same way he does stating
Jesus as Christ, Word of God or Messiah.

Lately a few years back a person named Sathya Sai Baba who claimed he
was god incarnated and Jesus in the flesh; when he died all his
followers waited for many days to see if he resurrected like Jesus did.
The town where he operated from was always full of foreigners but after
his death when this man failed to resurrect this town has become like a
ghost town with no foreigners visiting it.

No prophet or godman or religious figurehead has been able to put their
words to action of being someone exceptional to be followed like Jesus
did with the one factor of His victory over His death by His
resurrection. And the Word of God states the Power behind this task was
the Holy Spirit. This message was given to me yesterday being Pentecost
but I was very disappointed in the way the Church here in Mumbai did not
take the most important feast for Christians seriously and so I was not
in a frame of mind to send it.

Jesus was God who humbled Himself and came as man. Without the Power of
the Holy Spirit working in His life even He would not have succeeded to
be the cornerstone for all mankind to be born without blemish and remain
without blemish. It was this fact that He was without sin (which is also
acknowledged in the Quran) that caused Hell (He went there since our
sins were on Him) not to hold Him back and thus resurrect.

Jesus by His life as man showed us the necessity of the Holy Spirit in
our lives so let us also make the Spirit of God as the most important
part of our lives, without Him we too will not be Christians like Jesus
could not be Christ without Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord, we thank You for Jesus who became a worthy sacrifice to make us
worthy to receive your Spirit. Lord, You have said it is only by the
working of your Spirit in us that will allow us to be truly saved, not
just saved from going to hell but will enable us to enter Heaven. Holy
Spirit we need You more today than ever. Unite us as one body in our
Lord with one mind and one understanding, work in us as You did with
Jesus and make us a success like You did with Him. We know we too will
rise like He did only by your Power...

This prayer we make in Jesus' Name, Amen.
[Reference Scriptures]
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the
life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 10:8-10
8All that ever came (is in Aorist tense which is past, present and
future at the same time) before (word also means ever) me are thieves
and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall
go in and out, and find pasture.
10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I
am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly.

Luke 1:35 - And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit
shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow
thee: wherefore also the holy thing which is begotten shall be called
the Son of God.

Acts 1:8-9
8But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and
ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and
Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
9And when he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken
up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Philippians 3:8-11
8Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the
knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all
things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ,
9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of mine own, even that
which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the
righteousness which is from God by faith:
10that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the
fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed unto his death;
11if by any means I may attain unto the resurrection from the dead.

(Since a sister insisted on me quoting from the Quran to prove my
comments on Islam and many Muslim friends are reading my messages thus I
am quoting scriptures from the Quran - I may not do this every time
since it would make my already long messages longer and most scriptures
in the Quran contradict themselves so we need to quote not just one like
in the Bible)

Surah 4:157-158
157That they said in boast, "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the
Apostle of Allah"; --- ut they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so
it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of
doubts, with no certain knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of
a surety they killed him not: ---
158Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power,
Wise; ---

Surah 3: 55Behold! Allah said: "O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee
to Myself and clear thee of the falsehoods of those who blaspheme; I
will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to
the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will
judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute."

Surah 19:15 - So Peace on him the day he was born, the day that he dies,
and the day that he will be raised up to life again! (the word again was
added in the later translation and was not there in the original Arabic
- Pickthall translations)

Surah 19:27-33
27At length she brought the babe to her people, carrying him in her
arms. They said: "O Mary! Truly an amazing thing hast thou brought!"
28"O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a
woman unchaste!"
29But she pointed to the babe. They said: "How can we talk to one who is
a child in the cradle?"
30He said: "I am indeed a servant of Allah: He hath given me revelation
and made me a prophet";
31"And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me
Prayer and Charity as long as I live";
32"He hath made me kind to my mother, and not overbearing or miserable";
33"So Peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day
that I shall be raised up to life again!"

Surah 43:61-63
61And Jesus shall be a Sign for the coming of the Hour of Judgment:
Therefore have no doubt about the Hour, but follow ye Me: This is a
Straight Way.
62Let not the Evil One hinder you: For he is to you an enemy avowed.
63When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you
with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the points on
which ye dispute: Therefore fear Allah and obey me.

R.D SOUZA Saved by faith - Page 10 Empty Re: R.D SOUZA Saved by faith

He washed our feet and forgave us

John 13:4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a
towel, and girded himself.

Today’s scripture is mostly misunderstood as a sign of service. In many
religions the act of washing someone’s feet is equated to humility and
service but Christianity not being a human made religion is not in line
with the thinking of worldly religions which are manmade.

Jesus hated the traditions of the Jews and one amongst them was washing of
hands and feet, like when entering the house or while sitting to eat. He
hated it not because it had to do with cleanliness but was done as a ritual
backed with a strong belief. Their belief was such a strong yoke that they
used decorated jugs made even of precious metals like silver and gold, with
carvings and gems embedded on them; they were jugs specially designed by
beliefs thus had two handles at about 90degrees of each other.

God does not look at how clean or dirty a person is naturally but looks at
spiritual cleanliness of the person, how pure the heart is. Sin is not dirt
but erosion, washing does not clean sin. Forgiveness means not accounting
the person to the penalty/consequence of sin, it does not restore the
person of the damage sin has done to the person, it is for that reason
after Jesus paid the price for (the consequence of) our sins He gave us His
Spirit who would help do the restoration of the damage sin has done to us.

Jesus after washing the feet of His disciples said to them to imitate what
He did. He knew man was unjustly going to accuse Him and put Him to death
so He forgave man even before He was hung on the cross and on the cross He
also asked the Father to forgive us. So let us learn to forgive others,
especially our own brethren in the Lord. Let us remember Jesus forgave us
even before we sinned against Him.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and All-knowing God. Even before You created man You
knew he would sin against You, yet You Lord called him Son, You also did
that time before to the Angels who later rebelled against your will and
brought forth darkness. Lord we pray we who are your children learn to
forgive people and love them as You loved for without forgiving we cannot
expect You to forgive us and thus cannot come in your presence....

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 13:3-11, 14
3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and
that he was come from God, and went to God;
4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel,
and girded himself.
5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the
disciples’ feet, and to wipe [them] with the towel wherewith he was girded.
6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou
wash my feet?
7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but
thou shalt know hereafter.
8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him,
If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also [my] hands
and [my] head.
10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash [his]
feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all
clean.
14 If I then, [your] Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought
to wash one another’s feet.

Luke 11:4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is
indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
[our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Do not idolize any man

Zachariah 1:4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets
have cried, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your
evil ways, and [from] your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken
unto me, saith the LORD.

We see Catholics have statues of ‘saints’ who are people whom they think
were holy so they bow down to them and pray to them thinking these people
can intercede to their petitions. I personally cannot comment about the so
called saints but I had the opportunity to have personal interaction with
one whom this church has declared as a saint. When I met the person (more
than once) and had a one to one chat with her, I left she was charity
personified and humility overflowing, but as I came to know the Lord and
His Word then I started wondering if she really knew Christ? Later her
letters to her guardian priest / spiritual guide exposed how she struggled
to know the Lord and was tormented by evil spirits in her last days.

Believers may not have statues of people to worship but they do have living
people (Preachers) whom they idolize and worship. The fact they do not
discern the words of these people with the Word of God shows they have
lifted these people above God and made them their gods.

Paul did tell those who he was ministering to follow him because he
followed Christ because they were spiritual children and were not mature
enough to know Christ directly. It is like a mother breastfeeding a child
of one year or even two is okay but breastfeeding a child above 5 or 10
years would not be approved as mother feeding her kids.

Today’s message tells us not to idolize any person including our Pastors.
We may follow them for a moment but need to understand even Jesus did not
desire His disciple follow the man Jesus but follow His Spirit – the Holy
Spirit – the Spirit of Truth. Jesus said we will do greater things than He
did that is because it is His Spirit will lead us to achieve that. So when
we follow Christ or worship it is the Spirit of Christ we follow, we
worship; in the start we may follow the man Jesus but soon or later we have
to move on to be led by His Spirit - the Holy Spirit.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God, You are Spirit. Your Kingdom Lord is not
temporary but is eternal because it is Spirit world. Lord we pray we
understand it is only by the Spirit of your Son man is restored to You for
we become your Sons of God after being led and transformed by your Spirit.
Lord we pray your people have no gods in their lives and yours leaders know
their responsibility to handover those whom they lead unto the ultimate
true Shepherd the Holy Spirit...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Corinthians 11: 1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also [am] of Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:2 I gave you milk and not meat, because you were, then,
unable to take it, and even now you are not able;

Hebrews 5:12-13
12 And though by this time it would be right for you to be teachers, you
still have need of someone to give you teaching about the first simple
rules of God’s revelation; you have become like babies who have need of
milk, and not of solid food.
13 For everyone who takes milk is without experience of the word of
righteousness: he is a child.

Matthew 23:8,10
8 But you may not be named Teacher: for one is your teacher, and you are
all brothers.
10 And you may not be named guides: because one is your Guide, even Christ..

John 16:7, 13-15
7 But what I am saying is true: my going is for your good: for if I do not
go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to
you.
13 However, when he, the Spirit of true knowledge, has come, he will be
your guide into all true knowledge: for his words will not come from
himself, but whatever has come to his hearing, that he will say: and he
will make clear to you the things to come.
14 He will give me glory, because he will take of what is mine, and make
it clear to you.
15 Everything which the Father has is mine: that is why I say, He will
take of what is mine and will make it clear to you.

Knowledge and Goodness

Romans 15:14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye
also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish
{exhort} one another.

In today’s verse we read Paul wishing the Christians of Rome be filled with
goodness and all knowledge so as to exhort one another. The Greek word
translated here as ‘all’ is ‘Pas’ which means ‘each’ so does not mean
‘everything’ but more ‘every kind’, also the word translated as ‘knowledge’
here also means ‘understanding’.

We are called to have knowledge/understanding in every area of God’s
Kingdom. Having knowledge of one area of God’s Kingdom but lacking in
others can cause a person to have misunderstanding. These various
understandings merge at the top as one understanding, one truth and if one
has the prime understanding then the lower various areas become very clear.

One can exhort another only if one is having knowledge of Word of God and
has goodness in them, and if anyone lacks any of these, is sure to deceive
you. That means a person has a good heart / intention but lacks
knowledge/understanding of the Kingdom of God or vice-versa would misled
you and cause your fall.

In today’s era we have most Preachers and Church leaders who have good
intentions but due to their lack of knowledge of the Word of God they fail
to edify the Church. They struggle and go through great suffering so as to
serve, yet hardly see any progress. It is once in a while that someone
comes with both that we see the Church step forward.

Another important fact is one can have goodness and lack
knowledge/understanding of God’s Kingdom but one cannot have
knowledge/understanding of God’s kingdom without having goodness. So if you
sees anyone rattling away about the Kingdom of God but not doing any work
for His Kingdom /serving His people, be rest assured all that the person
speaks or preaches is falsehood.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty and All-knowing God. Nothing is impossible to You and
nothing is hidden from You. You alone are perfect. Lord we pray we realize
without understanding of your Kingdom and without having a heart like yours
which beats for your people, it is not possible to edify or serve your
Church...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Philippians 1:7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because
I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence
and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

2 Peter 1:12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in
remembrance of these things, though ye know [them], and be established in
the present truth.

Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard [it], do not
cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the
knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

2 Peter 1:5-7
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to
virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience
godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

The reason Jesus gave was
that Judas was the person written as ‘Son of Perdition’ (destruction) who
would betray Him. Can we say Judas was innocent?

We need to understand the Word of God cannot be changed. Its prophecies
(those not time stamped) can be delayed or quickened but cannot be changed.
Jesus knew as man even if He tried He could have changed Judas. That did
not make Judas innocent victim but it was because of the nature within him
that he could not be saved.

God knows the end result thus we have a Book of Life already filled, but
the fact is since all the names (identities) are not revealed (very few
are) thus one cannot assume oneself as being one amongst them. When I
realized Bible shows a few so called ‘Anointed Men of God’ as failures, it
caused fear in me. This fear caused me to take caution and not take God
(grace of God) for granted.

The fact people have not understood that the concept ‘flock’ of Jesus
Christ includes ‘sheep’ as well as ‘goats’, they think just by believing in
Jesus Christ and following some ‘Christian’ rituals they will receive
‘eternal life’.

Let us understand God is our ‘Helper’ and we have the stirring wheel in our
hands. It is our hearts (inner-man) that stirs our lives. We cannot blame
God for our disasters nor say everything good is also only by God. Yes God
can quicken both depending on the direction we take. Understand we cannot
be called His righteous ones if we were simply puppets in His hands. He has
given is freedom to choose and intervenes as and when we request Him (not
always). It is for this reason He gave us His Word to follow and His Spirit
to help us.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God who is Almighty, Omnipresent and All knowing. Yet You Lord
made man a free living being to choose between good and bad. You know your
sheep and yet allowed goats to be part of the flock until Judgment Day.
Lord we pray we learn not to blame You for all things but take ownness of
ones actions...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 12:6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was
a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

John 6:64 But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from
the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name:
those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the
son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

Matthew 27:9-10
9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying,
And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was
valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;
10 And gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord appointed me.

The Crucified Jesus Christ

1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save
Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

If one asks any Christian who loves the Lord Jesus Christ as to what do
like to see Jesus as, the infant Jesus, the young man Jesus, the crucified
Jesus, the resurrected Jesus or the glorious Jesus (second coming)? The
answer would obviously be the glorious Jesus. But we read in today’s
message Paul talks of the crucified Jesus to the people of the Church of
Corinth!

To understand today’s message in a few words one should understand the
Church of Corinth was the cross of Paul. It was this Church which shook the
very spiritually strong Paul by pointing to him his deficiency of not being
a good orator.

Paul was very knowledgeable and put this very well in words on letter but
he lacked the ability to deliver this in person by speaking. If Paul
existed today most Churches would not have allowed him to speak or deliver
the message during service. People like good orators and when Paul was
compared to evangelists like Timothy whom he nurtured spiritually, it hurt
Paul and disturbed him tremendously.

Paul a Roman name meaning ‘small’ was a humble man in all areas of his life
but when it came to his ministry he was the opposite. Paul considered
himself above others because of the revelations he had received. The
spiritual thorn (his spiritual pride) was something that the Church of
Corinth exposed to Paul. Paul being made aware of this thrice asked the
Lord for grace to overcome this thorn but the Lord wanted him to overcome
it. It took time but Paul did overcome this and when we put his letters in
chronicle order we see this same man spiritually humbled and refers himself
as the least amongst the Apostles.

Being humble does not mean to make oneself valueless / worthless, it means
acknowledging one limitations / deficiencies and lifting /encouraging
others to be greater than oneself.

God has given us the ability to do all things yet did not make us the
master in all things. In Callings each one masters in specific area and
thus needs the help of others (other Callings) so as to be a complete body.

Today’s message talks of remembering the crucified Jesus Christ and seeing
His humility on the cross. The Son of God had humbled himself by giving up
His glory, He became a mere man to fulfil the mission of salvation for
mankind. We see a glimpse of this humbling of Him as He lies crucified on
the cross.

Let us learn to put the purpose of Christ (salvation of others) in our
lives above our desires and ourselves. Let us learn to humble ourselves by
looking at the crucified Jesus Christ.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God and nothing is impossible for You. You can crush
evil in a moment let You chose man to crush its head by overcoming it. You
Lord, put the purpose above yourself thus the Ark was kept in the Holy of
Holies place while the candlestick (symbolizing the Holy Spirit) and
showbread (symbolizing the Son) was kept in the Holy place. Lord we pray we
learn to be humble towards You and your purpose in our lives by looking at
the crucified Jesus Christ so as to learn to lift others like He did...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Corinthians 2:1-7

2 Corinthians 11:6 But though [I be] rude in speech, yet not in knowledge;
but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

2 Corinthians 12:7-11
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the
revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of
Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is
made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my
infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in
necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I
am weak, then am I strong.
11 I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to
have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest
apostles, though I be nothing.

Acts 24:1 And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the
elders, and [with] a certain orator [named] Tertullus, who informed the
governor against Paul.

Acts 20:9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus,
being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk
down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.

God rejected the Jews

Romans 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, [take heed] lest
he also spare not thee.

In most part of the Bible we read about the Jews being called ‘God’s
People’ and we read of the tremendous miracles that God did for them. But
we fail to note that their one action caused them to be rejected by the
Lord and that was they rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior.

If one reads the Catechism of the Catholic Church a document which defines
the belief of the Catholic Church, section 841 speaks of the relationship
of Muslims to the Catholic Church and to salvation. In section 841 of the
CCC Part 1 Chapter 3 of the Vatican Church it says since the Muslims know
God and profess to hold the faith of Abraham they too will enter Heaven.

Firstly the Catholic Church has studied neither the Quran/Hadiths nor
understood the Bible. In the Quran the ‘Abraham’ referred to is not the
Abraham of the Bible. The records connected to the Abraham of the Quran do
not match to that of Abraham of the Bible. When we match identities of two
persons we do not see the common factors between them but the differences
between the two. It is not only with Abraham, even all other Biblical
characters mentioned in the Quran including Jesus/Isa err and are not the
same. What is more important is Allah (the god) is not the God of the Bible..

It is not only by acknowledging Jesus and accepting Him that a person is
saved but only those that follow Him are. Following the Lord Jesus Christ
is not the same as following someone on a social media, following a person
spiritually requires the person to imitate the person that is live
according to the teachings of that person.

Some days back a brother was following the ritual and beliefs of the Jews.
When I asked him if he was a Christian or a Jew, he got offended.

Catholics who follow the Catholic Church cannot be followers of Jesus for
Jesus said one cannot have two masters. Similarly Jews who follow Judaism
cannot be people of God for Judaism is not Biblical but is a
misunderstanding of the Bible.

Today’s scripture has Paul who was a former fanatic Jew speaking of God not
sparing the Jews (the natural branch). Paul who had a Jewish name Saul
before which was given by his Jewish mother, realized it did not matter
what race or nation one came from to be in Christ, what mattered is ones
faith and obedience in the Lord, thus he reverted to his Roman name Paul
given by his Roman father.

Without the Lord Jesus Christ no person can enter Heaven irrespective of
all the so called ‘good works’ one does. ‘Robinhood’ is not a qualification
accepted in Heaven. God desires total transformation and without Christ
(Jesus and His Spirit) it is not possible, the total transformation is not
an individual task but a collective task; that is why we as a body are
called His Bride.

Those who are Muslims, Jews, Catholics or even ‘Protestant’ will not
qualify to enter Heaven unless they are ‘in Christ’. Let us too not assume
that we will enter Heaven because we know or acknowledge a person named
‘Jesus’. Let us ask ourselves, am I a disciple of Christ? Do I follow Him?

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You opened the gates of Heaven by becoming a
sacrifice for man. Lord we pray we understand Lord Jesus Christ is the only
WAY to Heaven and eternal life and it is the Holy Spirit who leads us on
this WAY so as to enable us to reach our destination...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no
man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Matthew 7:13-14
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is]
the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth
unto life, and few there be that find it.

CCC Part 1 Chapter 3 (841) “The plan of salvation also includes those who
acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims;
these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore
the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.” (Page 242, 243)

Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

To be in a Calling

1 Timothy 1:7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither
what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

Callings is key to the foundation of the Church because they are related to
the Seven Spirits of the Holy Spirit (Candlestick). So we have the Spirit
of the Lord (the Head) + 6 which are the callings (Isaiah 11:2)

Apostle
Prophet
Teacher
Evangelist
Administrator
Healer

Paul wrote on it in his letters but since his audience had a problem to
understand he could not write in depth (solid meat) and had to give only a
preview (milk); he did with Callings as he did with Fruits of the Spirit or
about other spiritual topics, he mixed them up or gave in parts. Thus we
need to study spiritual matters in depth from the source which Paul
referred to, that is the OT.

Amongst the Callings there are 3 which have dual roles even though the
Spirit is one. I speak with great confidence not only because of scriptural
references (the elaborate design of the dress of the High Priest that was
related to Callings) but also because as humans we are designed in a shape
(external as well internal anatomy) so as to understand Callings. Coming to
those Callings which have dual roles, they are Healers (Natural and
Deliverance) [legs], Evangelist (Word and Worship) [hands] and Teachers
(Natural/Historical and Spiritual) [shoulders], these individually being
one Calling have 2 roles.

We who are in Christ can do all things that means I can be as effective as
an Apostle, or prophesy as an Prophet, understand and teach as a Teacher,
preach as an Evangelist, manage a congregation as an Administrator or heal/
deliver as an Healer; but then I will not be able to do as well as the
person who is in that Calling. One also needs to take account of the
maturity of that person in that Calling.

Today’s message talks of a foolishness which we see is rampant in our
Churches today. We have people trying to change their Callings by giving
titles unto themselves. Even though Bible says we cannot change our Calling
yet Church leaders are prevalently doing so. It is for this reason we have
a very confused and unproductive Church.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You are Lord of order and system. Even when You
created this natural creation, You did according to the image of things of
the Spirit world. You Lord do not do anything without design and
understanding being built into it. Like your Word is one and You are one so
also all things are made to understand one thing that is your Kingdom. Lord
we pray we do not behave like fools but do all things by understanding...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Isaiah 11: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of
wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of
knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

1 Corinthians 12:28-29
28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets,
third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping,
administrating, and various kinds of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work
miracles?
30 Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all
interpret?
31 But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still
more excellent way.

Ephesians 4:11-13
11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors
and teachers,
12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body
of Christ,
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of
the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the
fullness of Christ,

Service in Office

1 Timothy 6:2 And they that have believing masters, let them not despise
[them], because they are brethren; but rather do [them] service, because
they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach
and exhort.

We as Christians are called not just to preach but to live what we preach.

When I came to know Christ there was a desire to do full time ministry.

Once on my trip abroad a sister wanted to bless me with a good amount of
cash. I was reluctant to take it but I obliged, interestingly later while
shopping I lost that exact same amount of cash (the cash she gave was still
with me). I had no idea how an identical amount could get displaced!

The Lord wanted me to know He was my provider and He would provide for me
and my ministry through my work. He made me understand it is more difficult
to live a normal working person life and still witness Christ than to
witness Him as a full time minister. He put Paul as an example. Paul was a
business man who although did get work for God’s Kingdom yet was making
tents and trading in it to support himself and even those ministering with
him.

For the Lord both Paul and Peter were both full time minister. Paul decided
to work and provide for himself while Peter decide to take support from the
congregation. Was Paul better than Peter? No. Paul had the grace from the
Lord for his provision.

Those Preachers who take a share of the collection (more than essentials –
OT fist full) do not realize they are encashing their riches here on earth
and would land to be poor in Heaven. Heaven is not a flat place all at the
same level. It has levels with the best being closer to the throne of glory
(where the glory is concentrated).

Today’s message says we should consider ourselves to be blessed to have a
boss who is a Believer and consider them as family. So serving them should
be like serving a family member. And if our boss is not a Believer yet we
are called to do an honest job so has to hold high the name of Jesus Christ
whom we represent.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord hold your Name high above all things
through your Word for your Name is Holy. Lord we pray we realize as
Christians we stand in your name. If we do not be a good example we bring
your name down and if we shine as an example we lift your name high. We
pray we always lift your name high...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Corinthians 16:1-4

Galatians 1:18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit
Cephas, and tarried with him fifteen days.

worked, for they were tentmakers by trade.

Breaking of bread – knowing the Lord Jesus Christ

Luke 24: 35 And they told what things [were done] in the way, and how he
was known of them in breaking of bread.

In the OT in the design of the Tabernacle, the Holy place had the
candlestick with its 7 shafts and it also had the shewbread which were
eternal since they symbolized the Holy Spirit and Christ. The Holy Spirit
with His 7 Spirits (which are related to Callings) yet 1 symbolized the
candlestick and Jesus said I am the bread that came from Heaven thus
symbolized the shewbread.

If we study the Hebrew words and it root it reveals more depth and
understanding of the terms Jesus used. Jesus said unless we eat His flesh
we will not have life. He did not literally mean eating His actual flesh.
The Hebrew word for flesh comes from the root word message. So Jesus
actually said if we do not eat (take in and make a part of us) His message
we will have no partaking in His Kingdom thus no life.

Coming to bread the Hebrew word comes from the root word ‘to fight/battle’.
Jesus once said He did not come to make peace but to cause people to war
against their own family, against society and primarily against themselves.
Jesus said the world hates God and thus we cannot be with the world as well
be with God. Therefore even though we live in this world yet we are called
to battle this world.

Jesus said He is the stumbling rock on which we either fall on or it will
falls on us either way we will get consumed. Like it or not with the
existence of Christ we have to die and that is the truth. Either we accept
Christ and die to this world or we enjoy this world and die an eternal
death. The worldly death is a short one which we can apprehend but the
spiritual death is not like natural death but a long suffering which we
cannot apprehend.

Let us remember when we break bread that we are called to battle and let us
understand the battle we are called to, it is only then we will know the
Lord Jesus Christ.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord are called us to be the light in
darkness. We pray Lord we understand we are called to battle darkness and
not be friends with it. We pray we understand people are not darkness but
the understanding that controls them is the darkness we need to battle. As
we battle we know your understanding will increase in us and we will find
the battle easier...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Exodus 25:30-37

Exodus 25:30 And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway.

John 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no
life in you.

Matthew 10:34-39
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send
peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the
daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in
law.
36 And a man’s foes [shall be] they of his own household.
37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and
he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy
of me.
39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for
my sake shall find it.

Sealed, unsealed with and by clay

John 9:15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his
sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do
see.

Jesus healed people by just telling them that they are healed. He taught
His disciples to speak to sicknesses and weaknesses, rebuking and
commanding them to leave so as to heal people. He also healed people when
they touched Him (His anointing), we also have a case where a woman stole
her healing by her touching the hem of Jesus’ garment (the blue ribbon put
at the hem was an identity of a Jew).

We see in today’s incident (verse) Jesus healed a person by putting clay
(dust mixed with spittle) on the eyes of the person and asked him to wash
in the pool of Siloam (meaning ‘sent’) and he gained his eyesight.

The question is why did Jesus put clay? Could He not just heal him by
touching him or by rebuking his blindness?

In OT clay was used by God to make man (dust was formed into shape); used
by man to make pots and also to seal. It was used to seal wine pots (kept
for maturing wine), sealing earthen pots in which important documents or
objects were kept and even doors were sealed to identify if anyone entered
the house in absence of the owner.

In today’s message we see Jesus put clay on the eyes of a person born blind
and gets his eyesight restored by asking him to wash got him to remove the
seal that too in a pool called ‘sent’ (Siloam).

In OT we see the Lord sealed wombs and women did not conceive and it also
says the wombs He opened no power could stop the child from being conceived..

The Lord is telling us (made of clay) we have the power to seal and unseal.
Jesus said to His disciples what we seal here on earth would be sealed in
Heaven and what we set free on earth will be set free in Heaven. Heaven is
a spiritual place so what we hold power over to seal or unseal are
spiritual things.

Let us understand and exercise this authority we hold in Christ.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord chose us to have authority in You. Lord
we pray we understand the authority we hold and start to exercise it so as
to bring glory unto You like Jesus did as man...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Genesis 2: 7 And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul..

Jeremiah 32:14 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these
evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this
evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may
continue many days.

John 9:6-7
6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the
spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by
interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came
seeing.

Matthew 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth
shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be
loosed in heaven.

Neither due to signs and wonders nor knowledge

John 12:11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and
believed on Jesus.

Today’s verse talks of the effect Lazarus’ bringing back from the death
caused amongst everyone. The fact the whole town greeted Jesus with palms
was because of the miracle of Jesus bringing Lazarus back to life.

I have mentioned before in detail that Lazarus’ bringing back to life was
unlike any miracle Jesus did before, it had nothing much to do with the
number of days after which He did it but because of the partly Egyptian
customs of embalming the death which the Jews of northern Israel followed
(especially Galileans/Samaritans), they semi mummified the body. So Jesus
partly regenerated Lazarus’ some organs while bringing him back to life.

Amongst the Jews there were the Pharisees and the Sadducees. The Pharisees
were people seeking signs and wonders while the Sadducees were people
seeking knowledge (while the Greeks sought understanding). The knowledge
which the Sadducees sought was floored (worldly) that is why they did not
accept all the book of the OT and had a much distorted understanding of
after-life and Heaven (including Angels).

Jesus rebuked the Pharisees but hardly bordered to rebuke the Sadducees,
when He was asked a question He would answer with a question and not with
an answer. If we see amongst His followers there many Pharisees but hardly
any Sadducees. People who gauge God with worldly knowledge are harder to
bring to know Him than those who seek signs and wonders. It is for this
reason many Catholics who join charismatic groups mostly turn up to follow
Christ and become Believers.

The miracle of Lazarus baffled not only the Pharisees but also the
Sadducees for it was not just an unbelievable miracle but also something
that failed the understanding of any sane person.

Bible says we need to be like a child to enter the Kingdom of God. It does
not mean to be childish, since we are blessed with the Spirit of Truth who
teaches us all things in Christ and it also does not mean to be innocent /
ignorant of that which is happening around us, for we are called to be
overcomers. We are called to be like children having great expectation
(even the impossible) and always ready to learn and know more. One without
the other will not get us to know God well.

[Payer Starter]
Lord You are Almighty God and nothing is impossible to You yet You Lord do
all things in its time and purpose. You Lord desire man to be the vessel
through which You want to do great things so that man can earn that place
and position which You have planned for him in Heaven. We pray Lord we
neither seek You with our worldly understanding nor limit You according to
our understanding...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
John 11:44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with
graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto
them, Loose him, and let him go.

John 12:9-13
9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came
not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had
raised from the dead.
10 But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to
death;
11 Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed
on Jesus.
12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they
heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried,
Hosanna: Blessed [is] the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the
Lord.

John 7:52 They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee?
Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

Mark 10:15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom
of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

Calling On is not same as Calling

Romans 10:13 For whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Long time back as I was growing in the Lord I was asked to delivery someone
who was tormented by a spirit. It was not a spirit which could be commanded
and removed, it was amongst those Jesus said are removed only by prayer
(the word fasting was not part of the scripture and was added much later).

At that time a thought crossed my mind linked to today’s scripture which
states those who call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved.
So I was persistent behind him to speak out the name ‘Jesus’. He did try to
tire me by refusing quite some time but later he did and yet it made no
effect so I had to give up (sadly he is in a mental asylum today, I am
waiting on the Lord to tell me when to approach him).

He was one who spoke a lot about Jesus and attended / visited the Catholic
Church more often than regular Catholics (his mother hardened him). He was
one amongst others (all were Catholics initially) who attended my Bible
classes (my first batch) for almost 8years and all those who accepted the
Lord in between and came out of that Church (including their immediate
families) are doing well, but those who attended and refused to receive the
Word either died tragically or went into disastrous problems.

There was a time I had confusion as what was the actual name of Jesus. Was
it the English version ‘Jesus’, or the Greek version ‘Iesus’, or the
Aramaic version ‘Yeshua’ or the Hebrew version ‘Joshua’? Then there were a
heretic group that I came across who stated ‘Emmanuel’ is the name.

When the Lord opened the meaning of the term name and what it really means,
then I understood the scripture was perfect and sure to bring result.

In today’s scripture the Greek word ‘epikaleomai’ used here and translated
as ‘call upon’ or ‘call on’ does not mean verbal calling but means ‘to take
on the surname’, in other words be part of the family. Being part of the
family means to have common genetic nature, it means being like Him.

The scriptures says only when we put on the nature of Christ we are saved.
There are other scriptures which says there is power in the Name of Jesus,
it does not mean taking the name or speaking the word ‘Jesus’ but by
following Him.

Christianity is unlike other religions which encourage chanting and outward
actions. Christianity demands internal reaction and change. Anyone who does
not change but resists change when the Word is spoken will see worse
judgment.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and You alone are God. There is none like You thus when
You were asked your name, You said ‘I am who I am’ but foolish man took
your name as ‘I AM’. Lord we pray we stand above worldly thinking and
worldly ways. We understand things in its truth, which is shown through
your Word. We pray You open the hearts and minds of your people and bring
the change so as to be in your Name, like You were in the Father’s Name and
experienced glory...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision
for the flesh, to [fulfil] the lusts [thereof].

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have
put on Christ.

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus
shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

John 17:12 While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast
given me: and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, but the son of
perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

Blessed are they that mourn

Malachi 3:14,15 Ye have said, It [is] vain to serve God: and what profit
[is it] that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully
before the LORD of hosts? And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that
work wickedness are set up; yea, [they that] tempt God are even delivered.

When a person keeps the commandment of the Lord / walks in His ways, the
person will morn. Such a statement may disturb a Christian for they come to
the Lord to be comforted and not to morn.

It is true when a person comes to the Lord the person is comforted, but
those who serve the Lord will take His burden of saving the lost and such a
person will morn for them. It is the sadness of the lost that the Lord
speaks of having in our hearts for such a sadness will cause us to move and
serve them.

In the Beatitudes Jesus said blessed are they that morn (today) for they
will be comforted (later). In Luke 6:25 Jesus goes on to say woe (hopeless
are) those who are full (satisfied) for they shall hunger (lack in spirit),
woe (hopeless are) those who rejoice (on earthly things) now they shall
mourn and lament at a death (of themselves). Jesus said if we need to be
His disciples we need to carry our Cross (purpose in Christ - saving the
lost) and follow Him (live our lives like Him - His commands). If we do not
be His disciples we will not know the truth and if we do not know the
truth, we will not be set free since it is the truth that sets us free.

If any Christian thinks he or she has become a Christian to enjoy a good
life, they are in the wrong place. Christianity is about giving unto others
that which the Lord gives us. If we want to inherit the great things in
Heaven we need to let go of the little things here. Look at the characters
of the Bible do we find any true disciple enjoying earthly life, all
suffered and all lived a life to serve others, not to do social service but
to guide and build others in the ways of the Lord.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are almighty God. There is nothing that is impossible for You yet
You Lord use mere man to partner with You for the salvation of the lost.
Lord You great things to those who show responsibility in little things.
Let us understand although our salvation if free and by your grace alone
yet it is not free, we need to share that we received from You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 5:4 Blessed [are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Luke 6:25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you
that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

James 4:8-10
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse [your] hands,
[ye] sinners; and purify [your] hearts, [ye] double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to
mourning, and [your] joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come
after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Luke 9:23 And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let
him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

John 8:31-32
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in
my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Gifts presented to the child Jesus

Matthew 2:11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young
child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when
they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and
frankincense, and myrrh.

There are lots of distorted and misunderstood information about the wise
men and the gifts they gave to the child Jesus.

Firstly we need to get into us these wise men (learned men) met Jesus not
when he was just born. Jesus was born outside an inn while Mary and Joseph
were waiting for a room to be free. She gave birth to the baby who was
wrapped in a cloth and placed in a wooden box (manger) kept outside the inn
to feed the donkeys of the guest. Jesus was born during the Feast of
Tabernacle / Tents / Sukkot. It was the Catholic Church that created the
crib, put the infant Jesus and His family in a stable and moved His
birthdate to December.

It was also not a star that was seen moving but was the planet Jupiter
which was strongly visible in that period. During that time they did not
know the difference between star and planets. Jupiter overlapped the star
Regal when the wise men reached Jerusalem and thus was seen brighter.
Computer aided astronomy software can create the sky position of any given
date, time and place of view from earth.

The only people that met baby Jesus outside the inn when He was just born
were the shepherds whom the Angels had informed. We need to note that
shepherds in Jerusalem do not take their flock to graze outdoors late
during December due to extreme climate so this did not happen in December.

Today’s scriptures uses the term young child for Jesus and not infant. The
wise men had met Jesus almost 3 months to 1 year 3 months after His birth
(they met Him in Dec and we know this by astronomy / the heavenly sign thus
the latter figure is more so since Herod killed all children below two
years).

It is assumed there were 3 wise men because of the three gifts, which is
wrong. The three gifts were given specifically to very great kings
(Emperors) and it was not is small boxes (symbolic amounts) as shown in
pictures / illustrations. Each wise man bough all the three gifts. These
wise men which were more than 3 since they had a large caravan and this
caravan had caught the attention of King Herod. These men had come from
eastern countries (properly Asian countries like India) and were known for
their extravagant riches in that period. Their connection is linked to
Daniel / Babylonian era. Hebrew was used in India as an official language
(official seals in Hebrew were found) during Emperor Ashoka reign.

Joseph is assumed to be a carpenter. The word used in Greek is workmanship
(builder / one who builds using wood or other materials). The Jewish
ancient text although does not speak well about the relationship between
Mary and Joseph, it notes Joseph as a builder who build houses. The last
record of Joseph in the Bible is when Jesus was of 12 years old. Even
between this twelve years period the family lived in exile in Egypt. Since
Mary and Joseph had at least 5 children between them we can safely assume
Joseph was there for at least 12 to 15 years.

If we put this facts into perspective the family of Jesus including His
brothers and sisters (children of Mary and Joseph) would not have had to
work for their daily needs. The family was never settled even when Joseph
was there so God had provided for them via these gifts.

God is our provider and when we are in Him, He provides for our today and
our tomorrow like He did to the family of Mary and Joseph.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are Father and no one else is our spiritual Father. You alone gave
us life and You alone provide for us. Our natural parents are vessels
through whom You bought us into this world an through whom You provide for
our needs. We know Lord we can always trust in You to provide for us in
supernatural ways...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Matthew 2:1-2
1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the
king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his
star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Matthew 2:16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men,
was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in
Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under,
according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.

Feeding Milk and not Meat

1 Corinthians 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto
ye were not able [to bear it], neither yet now are ye able.

A mother bringing up an infant knows at what stage she needs to give what
food to the child. In the womb the child was fed by the umbilical cord but
after birth the mother starts with breastfeeding and slowly introduces
things like soups and crushed solid food and then solid food not based on
time but on the development of the teeth /gums of child. To consume solid
meat one needs teeth that are well developed. Humans initially have milk
teeth which fall by the age of 8 to 12 and then the permanent teeth
develop. The age of 8 is important since scientifically the brain of a
child grows till then and after that one uses what is grown, also we see
the Jews start study of the Torah when a child is of 8 years.

When I write my daily messages I get response from people that I write
‘hard’ or ‘strong’ messages which are difficult for normal Christians to
digest. Frankly to say I try not to give solid food, it is very rare I do
but most of my messages are like cereal food soaked in milk, it has very
little bits of solid food but mostly milk.

We read in today’s message Paul too faced the same problem. People say
Paul’s letters are very deep or strong, even the churches he wrote to
especially Church of Corinth complained, but Paul clearly stated he did not
have the privilege to minister solid food for the people were not
spiritually developed and survived on milk. Paul was not a failure in his
delivery but his spiritual harvest were those spiritual growing [children
of Israel], unbelievers and those in authority. God thus did not give him
the ability as a good orator. People who think Bible is simple are those
who live on milk and lack teeth. One cannot read a verse and go by its
simple English.

Our spiritual teeth is discernment, the more we grow in discernment the
more solid food we can consume. When we do not have discernment and try to
consume solid food we will either get chocked or we will vomit everything
we took in. Our digestive system is not like that of some animals who can
swallow a whole animal and digest it slowly, we need to chew and break it
before swallowing to digest.

The Greek word for discern is ‘diakrino’ which is a compound word ‘through’
+ ‘separation’. We need to separate not only what is served to us but also
ourselves from our worldly knowledge (good and evil). My spiritual growth
happened after I realized as a Catholic I was deceived at every level so I
started with a new, clean slate, separating myself from what I knew. We
also need to keep separating (chew) what we consume, the more we chew
[meditate on] the more we get out of what we consume. When we truly study
each scripture we will find its understanding so deep that even one verse
at time a simple word can take days at time weeks to thoroughly digest.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are God and all knowing. Even though You gave your Word in the
beginning and by your Word everything was formed yet your Word was revealed
bit by bit to those who walked in your ways and led by your Spirit. Lord we
pray we realize the purpose of your Word is to reveal the Truth and the day
the Truth is know your Word returns to You and we are restored in You. We
pray we grow in discernment and understanding so that we come closer to
You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
1 Corinthian 3:1-3
1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto
carnal, [even] as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not
able [to bear it], neither yet now are ye able.
3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas [there is] among you envying, and
strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

2 Corinthians 10:10 For [his] letters, say they, [are] weighty and
powerful; but [his] bodily presence [is] weak {feeble}, and [his] speech
contemptible {make no sense}.

Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age,
[even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern
both good and evil.

Acts 9:13-16
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much
evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call
on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto
me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of
Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

When His Kindness and Love appeared

Titus 3:4 But when the kindness of God our Saviour, and his love toward
man, appeared,

It is good to study Biblical languages, they give greater depth of
understanding since all existing translation have issues. We cannot expect
them go to that depth of each word, also they are limited by English
language limitations.

Today’s scripture has two words ‘kindness’ and ‘love’. The Greek words used
are ‘chrestotes’ and ‘philanthropia’.

Chrestotes is translated as ‘moral goodness’ its root meaning is ‘giving a
loan’. A loan is always paid back, not written off. Christ paid the price
for our sins and it is His ‘chrestotes’ which means we need to respond or
repay. It is not that we need to pay back to Christ but to His lost sheep.
This can be understood by the parable about payback of loan between the
King, servant and another (Matthew 18:23-34).

Philanthropia is a compound word of ‘philo’ and ‘anthropos’.

Philo is may a times translated as love or friendship, the Greek word for
love is ‘agape’ and coming to friendship is fellowship, an association
based on give and take of feelings or common things. Philo is not used in
our love relationship with God, Jesus used it in John 15:1-12 when
explaining the business of God as a husband man (vineyard caretaker). Here
too He spoke of give and take, receiving and return, we receive life and we
return fruit of life. If no fruit is found in us, then we will be cut off
and loose life. The best translated for Philo is associate and with
business sense it is well understood. Anthropos means man. Philanthropia
thus means an association with man (here talks of association between
Godhead and man through the Lord Jesus Christ).

Both the words talk of response and return. They both do not expect man to
return back to God but unto others.

A Christian who thinks there is no works in their relationship between God
and man, has not understood Christianity. Jesus said ‘do unto others as I
have done unto you’, ‘love one another as I have loved you’.

We who have received from the Lord have to invest our ‘talents’ into others
and cannot keep it saying ‘it is the grace of God’. When the Lord comes
again He will ask what we have done with that we received from Him. If we
have not invested we will not only lose what we received but will be
punished for our unfaithfulness, but if we have invested wisely we will
received in multiplications.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You a Holy, Merciful and Loving God. You ask us to be holy for You are
Holy. You ask us to be merciful for You are merciful. You ask us to love
others for You loved us. Lord we pray we understand we cannot take your
love and grace for granted. We are called to give unto others as we have
received from You...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Carrying the Cross

Matthew 27:32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by
name: him they compelled to bear his cross.

The crucifix is considered a symbol of victory by Christians and a large
section of Christians consider it a religious object giving reverence to
it, by kissing it, bowing to it and worshiping it.

There are many controversies and misunderstandings with regarding the
crucifix. Firstly its shape is unconfirmed there are 3 shapes in the going:
the typical cross shape, then the plus shape and also the Y shape (Peter
mentions Christ died on a cut tree). Hindu Vedas speak of the Prince (of
god) was sacrificed on a pole.

If one goes into history the concept of crucifixion was made known by the
Assyrians who were the most barbaric people when it came to matters
regarding torturing and killing enemies or even rituals like child
sacrifice. Jonah hatted them from the depth of his heart because of what
they did to the Israelites, so much so was his hatred that he took to
disobey the Lord on carrying the message of salvation to them in Nineveh
and ran the other direction so as to see their destruction.

Assyrians used to hang people on poles outside cities, bruise them so that
they were weak to escape and they would be pecked to death by birds who ate
their flesh. Later they took this further by making them to sit naked on
pointed poles which pierced them slowly and this was done to even women and
children. They were known to skin people alive and were also famous for
child sacrifices to their gods. Hitler envied the ancient Assyrians and
tried to copy them but being Catholic he did not take it to that extreme.

The Romans who were known to rule with an iron claw made stone crucifixes
outside cites they ruled as a mark of fear to those who do grave crimes.
Once in a year or twice in a year they would crucify these criminals
especially when there was a large gathering of people in that city.

As per historians during the time of Jesus all the stone crucifixes were
occupied so they had to arrange a temporary wooden one. This was done to
fulfil prophecies and sacrifices as per the books of Moses. The wood had to
be of teak as per books of Moses (shape was irrelevant).

In today’s message we find Jesus Himself did not carry the wooden object on
which He was crucified for He was bruised terribly for the 5 days He was
under arrest. Scriptures state He was beyond recognition even as a human.
Simon of Cyrene a Jew was caught and forced to carry the wooden object. It
was an object of shame thus he was forced to carry (drag) it. It is written
later he and his sons accepted Christ and became Christians.

The Cross of Christ is not about the wooden object, nor its shape. The
Greek word ‘stauros’ comes from the root work ‘histemi’ which means cause
or stand. In the OT the Cross (Cause) of Christ was symbolized by the Ark
of Covenant and the Israelites crossed into the Promised Land by carrying
it. Paul understood the symbolization of the Cross in the OT and thus spoke
of the Cross having power of God.

The best way to understand and study the Cross is to study the OT Ark, its
design, shape and material as well as the objects placed in it. Without the
carrying Cross (Cause) of Christ we Christians will not be Christian and we
will not be able to enter Heaven our Promised Land.

[Prayer Starter]
Lord You are mighty God. You Lord made an object of shame by the enemies
into an object that carries your power. Lord we pray we know the real Cross
and how it is key to our salvation. We pray every Christian carry the Cross
like the Israelites carried it so as to enter the Promised Land. We pray we
too will quickly enter the true Promised Land by carrying the Cross of
Christ...

This prayer we make in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

[Reference Scriptures]
Mark 15:21 And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out
of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.

1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree,
that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose
stripes ye were healed.

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish
foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Matthew 16:24-25
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose
his life for my sake shall find it.
