Be not caught asleep

Matthew 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom
cometh; go ye out to meet him.

The coming again of Christ is the most favorite topic amongst Christians.
They love to discuss this without end. Ask anyone when is Christ coming and
one may say any time now, approx. next year, in a couple of years. What is
common amongst most is that coming of Christ is at hand and this was the
same with them 10 years back and also with others 50 years back.

Jehovah’s Witnesses and other Doom’s Day Christian cult’s leaders are
ill-famous for giving dates for Judgment Day and these dates failing.
Movies on 2012 (end of the world), Armageddon, Apocalypse are examples of
how people love this topic even though they fear it, these movies did box
office collections.

Today’s message talks of the Bridegroom coming at midnight. The parable
does not literally mean time of day/night but means when people are fast
asleep. When Jesus spoke of Judgment Day He compared it to a thief coming
in the night and to the flood of Noah which came suddenly. In these
examples too the thief does not come when people are awake but when they
are asleep and flood came when the evil people least expected a flood of
that magnitude to come. What is important to note is in the case of Noah,
he and his family were prepared for it and even though they did not know
exactly when the floods would come, they knew one thing until the ark was
done it would not flood that is why although it was an enormous project
that took almost 100years yet they kept doing it. The flood came
immediately after Noah finished the Ark and boarded all the animals he had
to save.

Bible says the end will not come until first all the prophecies come to
pass and secondly the work given unto us is complete. Do we have an
approximate time? Yes, the day is known but not the hour. Bible gives a lot
of clues, like Noah took 100 years Bible speaks of 1000years of the rule of
Christ (coming of Word of God on a white horse), every few people are aware
we are living in that period and it started almost 500years back (with
Reformation movement). The book of Daniel also says the Lord stating
through the Angel Time, Time and a half (millennium, millennium and half)
till every prophecy is completed and then only will the end would come.
Jesus’ resurrection too was symbolic to this He resurrected before the
third day ended, He said the sign of Jonah was for the wicked. Feast of
Trumpets is to do with coming again of Christ but the exact year is not
given.

Like the birth of Christ even though was not given exactly yet there were
few Men of God and people who listen to them (Wise men) that knew around
when and were prepared for it. Had Jesus not born exactly on that time,
died and gone to Hell exactly on time, a little delay would have been doom
to the few souls from the time of Noah who were in Hell and were saved by
His preaching in Hell (Peter specifically does not mention Adam, Eve or any
other soul before Noah as being in Hell when Jesus went there). God
fulfilled His promise given to Noah.

Understanding Judgment Day is key for Christian foundation and when this
with other few topics mentioned by Paul are clear there is no chance of
being deceived.

What people who are shouting day and night and asking people to look up and
walk are doing is fulfil prophecy, they get others fed-up so that when the
real time comes they will be asleep. Paul does confirm when people say all
is well and there is a false peace, at that time Christ will come.

Lord You are God and nothing is hidden from You for You are Omnipresent and
all knowing. Lord what You have spoken is known and what is not spoken not
known to anyone no even the Angels. Christ as man too did not know the hour
but was aware of the approx. time so did the other Apostles. We pray Lord
You open the eyes of your people that they are not deceived in wasting time
but like Noah do the job at hand. Until the job is not done of saving all
those souls whose names are written in the Book of Life and every prophecy
comes to pass the end would not come.

Can I lose my salvation?

John 13:18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the
scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his
heel against me.

Most Christians do not get this into them that just by believing about
Jesus or in Jesus one does not have the assurance to enter Heaven. We have
in today’s message a case of Judas who initially believed but later forsook
Christ for greed. People say he fulfilled prophesy so it is not necessary
we too will lose salvation like him.

One of the problems in not understanding the term ‘believe’ is the language
issue. In Greek we have 7 tenses compared to 3 tenses in English language.
Also in Greek a verb is rendered with TVM (Tense, Voice, Mood) this gives a
deep and clear understanding of what the speaker wants to project.

If we look at all the times Jesus spoke the word ‘believe’ concerning to
salvation or receiving the promises of God He either said in in Present,
Active or in Aorist, Active. The tense Aorist in Greek is a concoction of
past, present and future at the same time, it simply means eternally. So in
simple words Jesus said we need to remain in a state of believe till the
day we die to receive salvation. That means if I was believing or by my
confession or action deny Christ (backslide) then I stand to lose our
salvation. When it comes to wrongs God does not look at what you and I did
but what we are doing. If we change and walk in the ways of the Lord, God
forgets / writes off our wrongs.

Repentance is not about being sorry but more about correcting oneself, the
Greek word comes from the term ‘choosing the right path’.

Lord You are Truth, Righteousness and Holiness. You God desire us to be
holy and righteous for You are Holy and Righteous. Righteous and holiness
cannot be earned but only by having faith and truth (that is revealed by
your Spirit) that we can receive the Fruit of righteousness and holiness.
We pray Lord we understand You desire us to remain in You for You to remain
in us. We pray we do not lose on this race of keeping the faith...

Either by life or by death

Philippians 1: 20 According to my earnest expectation and [my] hope, that
in nothing I shall be ashamed, but [that] with all boldness, as always,
[so] now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether [it be] by
life, or by death.

Paul a great Man of God having being ministered by Angels and having spoken
to the Lord Jesus Christ never took his salvation for granted. In today’s
message we see he uses the words ‘earnest expectation’ and ‘hope’. If Paul
had to always be alert about the way he lived his life so that he does not
fail then can we?

When one speaks to any person about working one’s salvation they
immediately jump and scream ‘salvation is by grace and not by works’.

The best analogy for salvation and works (of faith) is winning a lottery
say of 1 million dollars. One does not work for that 1 million dollars so
to win it, it is a favor. But can one win a lottery without a lottery? And
can one have a lottery without buying it? So the amount one works for is
that 1dollar or 10 dollars to buy the lottery but the amount one wins is 1
million. What we work is to hold that faith (that lottery) which gives us
access to the grace of God and which we need to hold on to until Judgment
day, the day when we receive our salvation (enter Heaven). A lottery may
have a chance of a 1 in a millions win but when it comes to salvation God
assures us as long as we hold on to the faith we will win.

In today’s message we see Paul also says either way we will glorify God, by
our victory or by our failure. So we have a choice either be a good
testimony or by our failure be an example to others what they should not
do. Either way we will testify Him and glorify Him.

Lord You are God and glory is yours. Lord we pray we understand either way
we will glorify You, like Moses or like Pharaoh. We pray Lord we do not
fail in our race of keeping the faith. We pray we do not fail to temptation
and be so weak that we do not get up and resume our race...

Where does the love come from?

1 Timothy 1:5 [ESV] The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure
heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

Bible says God is love. We find many other religions have picked this term
up, but what they do in the name of love is not what the Bible says but
things which are carnal in nature. In India we had a Hindu so called godman
named Rajnish who prospective of love was primarily sex and substance
abuse, today we have another godman Shri Shri Ravi Shankar (Art of Living)
who believes in spiritism (invoking evil spirits) to achieve true love. The
same is the case with Sufism (Islamic) and Yogic cults (Hinduism).

If we look at today’s verse in various Bible translations we find great
variations in the words used. The word ‘love’ is replaced by ‘charity’,
‘clean heart’ is replaced by ‘pure heart’, ‘good conscience’ replaced by
‘knowledge of what is right’ and ‘sincere’ faith by ‘true’ or ‘unfeigned’
faith.

Some adjectives / words may seem similar but some may not. Going in reverse
order sincere, true and unfeigned speaks of genuine, real, honest etc… so
our faith needs to of that quality, the quantity may vary but quality is
very important. So what is important for genuine faith is not knowing many
scriptures but not doubting even if we know just one scripture (mustard
seed example).

The adjectives ‘clean’, ‘pure’ and ‘good’ with regards to conscience or
heart do not tally. Here only when one is specific to the term evil and
goodness then only the terms stand its ground. So to have a clean, pure or
good heart/ conscience one needs discernment and that comes with maturity.
The world on the contrary says an innocent young heart is a pure heart,
they do not take into consideration that man by default is corrupt (born
corrupt inheriting a corrupt nature). It is for this reason we find good
conscience is connected to a clean / pure heart. It is also for this reason
one translation says ‘knowledge of what is right’ since only a mature mind
/ heart / conscience knows what is right and wrong.

The last / first point is ‘love’ (Greek word ‘agape’) is translate also as
‘charity’. Preachers wrongly state Agape means ‘unconditional love’ or ‘God
kind love’; they do not realize any love that is conditional is not love,
so there is no other type of love, and that man only came to know true love
when Christ manifested this love. It is for this reason some translation
use the word more appropriate word ‘charity’ for charity does not expect
anything in return and charity is done with an intention to bless the other
person.

Let us understand there is only one type of love / genuine love and to know
if that love is genuine one needs to see the source of that love, if it
comes from a heart that is mature and that is full of truth/ knows the
truth. It the source does not meet both the criteria then one cannot be
sure of that love as being perfect / genuine.

If we understand this we will understand it is only through the Spirit of
the Son we can understand love and God the Father cannot be separated from
love (the Hebrew for love is ‘ahab’ and father is ‘ab’ / ‘abba’).

Father God You are Love for in You is perfection, You alone are Holy and
You alone know the Truth. We pray Lord we increase our love as we grow in
spirit and know more of the truth. We pray Lord we discern worldly
affections and pleasures of the flesh or carnal minds. We pray we do not be
lost in these emotions or desires and lose true love...

Fulfilment of Scriptures regarding 12

Acts 1:20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be
desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take..

In today’s scripture we find Peter quoting Psalms and states they need to
fulfil it by filling the position of Judas among the 12 by appointing
someone. If we read the rest of the NT there is nothing significant about
the count 12, Paul was added as 13th to this core team and there were 5 of
them (Peter, John, James, Paul and Barnabas) who overall administered the
global/universal Church; with Paul and Barnabas looking after the
‘Uncircumcised’ (Gentile) Christians and Peter, John and James looking
after the ‘Circumcised’ (Jewish) Christians.

Peter and the other Apostles did fulfil scripture by inducing Matthias in
the team by way of casting lots. What is interesting even after these
receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit they were all holed up in
Jerusalem (even when there was persecution happening on the disciples and
other fled) and it was only after Saul/Paul came in the scene that they
started moving out. The Apostles had not known why they induced the 12th
but did it.

By filling in the twelfth position they were doing what the Israelites did
when Joseph had dropped out from the twelve, they replaced his position
with his son. If we note it had nothing to do with the position but with
the count. Joshua insisted they be together when crossing the Jordan River
to enter the Promised Land.

The only book after the Gospels that speaks of 12 is the book of
Revelation. It is written about the 12 gates, pillars, stones, fruits etc.
in Heaven symbolizing the 12 Apostles / tribes of Israel, so did God remove
Paul or tribe of Levi?

Heaven as described in Revelations is founded on 12 types of stones and
these stones as same as the twelve which represented the twelve tribes of
Israel. If one studies gemology and Bible symbolism one will see the 12
gems symbolize the twelve Fruits of the Spirit. Church talks of only 9
which Paul mentions in Galatians 5:22-23 but ignores the 3 which he
mentions in Ephesians 5:9 which are Truth, Righteousness and Holiness (all
goodness – perfection). There is a purpose Paul did not mention them
together since the 3 are given as gifts. We receive the Fruit of Truth from
the Holy Spirit, Righteousness from the Son and Holiness from the Father,
the latter two is received on Judgment Day and when we enter Heaven.

Adam and Eve when they sinned (ate of the Tree of Doubt) lost the Fruits of
Truth and Righteousness (for disobeying), that why they felt nakedness and
like fools were trying to hid from the Lord. They became corrupt and thus
were removed from their access to Heaven and the Tree of Life. To gain this
access we need to gain back the Fruit of Truth and Righteousness.

The Hebrew word ‘Jordan’ means ‘inheritance’. To receive inheritance (cross
the Jordan River) we need to receive the Fruit of Truth (when the Truth is
complete in us) Christ will come again and we all (including those are
asleep in Him) will stand before Judgment Seat and those found worthy (did
the Will of the Father/Holy Spirit - carry the Cross / Ark of Covenant)
will receive the Fruit of Righteousness and will get to enter Heaven as a
body of the Son where all (created being of Heaven) will receive the Fruit
of Holiness when they become part of Father God (as the Son returns to the
Father).

Let us understand the core factor of our salvation is not just believing in
Christ and getting saved from Hell but is about being baptized in the Holy
Spirit and growing in the Fruits of the Spirit with the help of the Holy
Spirit (carrying the Cross teaches us the Fruits).

Christ died and paid the price of our sins mainly that we receive His
Spirit. Jesus left us so that His Spirit completes the work in us and makes
us worthy to enter Heaven. So let us be Christians and not fool ourselves
by acting as Christians.

Lord You are God and there is none other than You. A part of You humbled
Himself and became man so that He could pay the price and receive your
Spirit and by the help of your Spirit be restored back to You. We pray Lord
we understand the purpose You let the fall of the Angels as You let the
fall of man so that together we would be glorified in You to greater
things. We pray we understand it is all about the Fruits of the Spirit and
concentrate on building each other in them...

identify verbal Christians who talk a lot about God, preach about God
online or at prayer meetings (to other Christians) and max donate for
causes. These feel they fulfil being Christians by being good human beings.

Today’s message talks of Rahab a Canaanite woman of Jericho, who gave
shelter to the two spies sent in thither by Joshua; and in return was
spared, with all her kindred, when the city was taken and destroyed. This
woman from the OT is mentioned not once but twice in the NT as an example
of her faith both in Hebrew 11:31 and James 2:25, but in James 2:25 we see
James mentions her by her works which justified her faith.

We know we are saved by grace and the fact is this grace is received only
by those who have faith. That means if I have faith in Christ believing He
is Lord and savior and accepting Him as master (that means follow Him) then
I am saved. That also means those who do not believe in Christ and do not
follow Him are not saved. So faith is directly related to grace, if I have
faith I have grace and if I do not have faith I do not have grace. Then if
I stop believing in Christ as Lord or stop following Him can I still claim
to be under grace and due for salvation?

If we take the most famous scripture quoted by abundance grace believers
Romans 10:9 which says if we confess with our mouths Jesus is Lord and
believe in our hearts that He resurrected (broke the curse of Hell) then we
are saved. Now if we look at the verbs ‘confess’ and ‘believe’ they both
are in Greek Aorist tense and Active voice which means I have to always
remain in that state of confessing and believing. It does not mean I need
to keep saying Jesus is Lord but means I need to witness Him, that means
not once or twice but any time and every time I get an opportunity to
witness Him I should.

Let me be blunt all those who think by correspondence they will get to
enter Heaven need to wake up to the fact God sent His Son on earth to dwell
amongst us and to become a sacrifice for us. The Apostles and Disciples of
Christ did not lock themselves in a room and pray for people, they went
out, risked their lives and preached to people. If we are not practicing
Christians then we are fooling ourselves to be Christians.

Jesus said those who deny themselves and CARRY His cross will be saved,
carry is a verb so one needs to work. We surely are not saved by works but
also without works we are not saved. Let us know the difference between
works of righteousness and works of faith. Let us step out in faith and
stop being verbal Christians who preach to other Christians. Let us keep
our faith alive till the time we sleep in Him else we will not sleep in Him..

your plans at a snap of a finger. But their falling was known to You and so
also their destruction by mere man overcoming them by faith through the
knowledge of the truth. The Truth sets us free and to knowing the truth we

who are led by Him...

O Theophilus be not a friend

Acts 1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus
began both to do and teach,

Christians call God their ‘friend’ mainly because of 2 reasons, one God
called Abraham His ‘friend’ and in John 15 Jesus calls us His ‘friend’.
Both these cases need to be introspected along with today’s message where
Luke uses the term Theophilus which is also translated as ‘friend of God’.

If we look at the source of the scripture regarding Abraham being called
‘Friend’ by the Lord, it is Isaiah 41:8 and also 2 Chronicles 20:7. If one
goes into the Hebrew word actually used in the text, the word is ‘ahab’
which means ‘love’. So God did not call Abraham His friend but His ‘love’ /
‘lover’ and it is this reason we who are the descendants of Abraham (by
faith) are called His Bride. This was not God the Father who spoke to
Abraham but was God the Son.

Coming to the NT, the Greek word translated as ‘friend’ is the word ‘Philo’
both in John 15 and Acts 1. This word has multiple meanings and one of them
is ‘associate’, other is ‘companion’. If we look at the context of the
chapter in John 15 Jesus is speaking of His Father’s business and something
we need to be part of thus He discloses it to us. Business is not a
‘friend’ matter. We all do business with people we know, we may do a
business deal with an unknown person but not a business venture with an
unknown but we will always want to know who the person is as we do business
with that person.

We are called to work in the Lord’s Kingdom not as servants but as
associates / His related companions for we reap a harvest which we have a
direct benefit of. So when we save a soul we are not doing fully a favor on
that person nor on God (God knows how to get it done without us) but adding
to our riches in Heaven.

Today the Lord is asking us to introspect our relationship with Him. He
wants us to do that so that we do not lose on our inheritance as Bride of
Christ and as Sons of God the Father. We do not waste the opportunity on
earth to gather riches for ourselves in Heaven which Paul described as
‘high crown’.

Also let us understand when we call another Believer a ‘brother’ or
‘sister’ in Christ we extending the Hand of God which is on us or on to
that person (even vice versa). When Paul said he handed over some persons
unto Satan, he did do a dealing with Satan for the soul but simply
disconnected his (spiritual) relationship with that person. So let us not
call each other friends but brethren.

Lord You are God and Father of all. You Lord created us and are
transforming us so that we can become a part of You so as to inherit the
things You have set for us in Heaven. Lord we pray we understand our
relationship with You and do not us worldly terms thus losing on the long

Death of the body is not death of the spirit

John 19:40 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes
with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

Let us ask the question, if the Israelites / Jews did actually follow the
instructions of the Lord then would Jesus have to come, would Jesus have to
die, would the death and resurrection of Jesus be so dramatic?

Biblically when a person dies we are to cover/roll the naked body in a
simple cloth and bury it, not dressed up, not in a coffin, nor in a tomb
putting any cross as a marker or any tombstone. What is more so is even the
burial process that is taking the body from the house to the grave is done
by those growing in spirit (youth) and not those mature in spirit (elders).

In today’s message we find according to the (general) Jews they were to
bury the body but according to the Galilean Jews they semi- mummified the
body and kept it in a cave (which was also considered as burial).

Our bodies were made of mud and to mud they return. But when God spoke to
Adam (man/mankind) after he sinned He did not speak of the body but about
the spirit that it would perish and not have eternal life. To have eternal
life we need to have access to the Tree / River of Life which is in Heaven
(upper levels of Heaven) and Adam’s access to the Tree of Life was removed.

‘Spirit’ in Hebrew means ‘breath’ and does not literally mean breath but
symbolizes life so spirit is that which lives within us and it is through
our spirit that our body lives and the moment it leaves the body our body
is nothing but bio material that decays and perishes. Only God has life in
Himself (eternal life), this ability/attribute He gave His Son only. Our
spirits which are created has a limited life and can live eternal only in
presence of God near to His glory Throne where the Tree of Life is. What is
alarming is our limited spirit life is very, very long (in thousands of
years) thus the adjective words used are translated as eternal. So if a
soul perishes in Hell, there too it will first have to suffer (its sins)
for more than a thousand years before it perishes.

Let us not love the body or things of the body but the spirit and things of
the spirit. So when we see each other let us see the beauty of that spirit.
Let us not make death a ritual but prepare for the moment when our life
leaves our bodies.

Lord You are God and You god are Spirit, You are Life. All life are made by
You and can live eternally only in presence of your glory. The Spirit world
is the real world and this natural world is made temporarily so as to allow
cleansing the sinful spirits of man. Lord we pray we do not get trapped
with the desires of this world but keep our eyes focused on the spirit
world with help of your Spirit...

Sin, Curse and Sickness

John 9:26 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he
thine eyes?

The Lord has always been graceful to expound all scriptures I have been
putting up to Him since the years. Sometimes He did take a long time but He
ultimately did reveal them to me.

As of now there is one scripture (incident) I have been unable to
understand and have been put it to Him since some a long time and awaiting
answer, it is the incident concerning the man born blind whom Jesus heals
and when inquired by His disciples Jesus says he was not blind due to his
own sin nor of his parents but only to glorify God. If we look at verse 3
we read Jesus saying the man is without sin and so also his parents such a
statement goes totally contradictory if taken literally and we read a few
days back Paul say all scriptures are literal (spiritually).

What this scripture(s) seems to contradict is the fact sickness appeared
due to sin. The grandson of Adam (meaning full of life) was named Enos -
mortal (lacking life - Genesis 4:26) because of manifestation of sickness
and Bible says it was them man started worshipping God.

In Exodus 34:6,7 we see the Lord Himself says He visits the sins of the
father unto the son [children], grandson, and great grandson (four
generations). Later in Ezekiel 18:20 the Lord clarifies it is not the sin
but the sin nature, each one pays for their own sin.

Bible states generations are brought forth as souls which are given as seed
in the man and becomes into a human being in the womb of the mother. Sin
corrupts man and from a corrupt seed we only get corrupt produce, this is
the cause of hereditary sicknesses. Jesus was born a man without a human
father and in a virgin womb (surrogate birth) for this reason so that as
human He was born without blemish (corruption). Jesus was lifted up and
crucified by His limbs to be our Peace Sacrifice so as to break our curses
(Galatians 3:13).

The last time I pounded on a scripture like this was about Jesus saying to
the robber crucified next to Him that ‘today you will be with me in
Paradise’. This too contradicted other scriptures like Jesus telling Mary
Magdalene on the third day (after His resurrection) not to touch Him for He
has not yet ascended to the Father (finish all sacrifices by sprinkling in
the Holy of Holies). Later after nearly 6 months the Lord revealed it as a
mistranslation and the word was not ‘TODAY” but ‘THAT DAY’ (concerning the
discussion of Judgment Day when Christ will come in glory).

Same was the case of the incident of the stoning of the adulterous woman
whom Jesus saves. Later it was revealed that these verses (whole incident)
were not part of original scriptures but added much later by the Catholic
Church.

In Bible study the following areas are key for right interpretation of
scriptures
1) Textual criticism (establishing the original or most authoritative text)
2) Philological criticism (study of the biblical languages for an accurate
knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, and style of the period)
3) Literary criticism (focuses on the various literary genres embedded in
the text in order to uncover evidence concerning date of composition,
authorship, and original function of the various types of writings)
4) Tradition criticism (to trace the development of the oral traditions
that preceded written texts)
5) Form criticism (classifies the written material according to the
preliterary forms)

Let us always question not only the doctrines but also scriptures if we
feel it not agreeing with out spirit. Let us ask God to reveal them to us
for He Himself says ‘test and see the Lord, He is good /perfect’.

Let us learn to waiting on the Lord for revelation of His Word.

Word of God is Good

1 Timothy 6:3-6
3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, [even]
the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according
to godliness;
4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of
words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth,
supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

We see people always complain about complicating the Bible by going deep
into Greek, Hebrew words and into historical data. They say please keep the
Word of God simple, for God made it for simple people.

Firstly these people have not read the whole Bible for they missed
scriptures which speak of people not able to understand scriptures so are
taught in parables and in OT God is asked how He will teach knowledge and
understanding of His Word. These people do not realize no translation till
date can boast of being perfect because language limitations does not
allow. The moment I hear a Preacher state they know the Bible / Greek and
yet says the words ‘Agape love’ then I immediately know the bluff.

In today’s message Paul gives us 3 benchmarks to test a doctrine.
1) Wholesome word – logical / sensible
2) What Jesus spoke
3) Doctrine that lead to holiness (godliness – better relationship with God)

Biblical mysteries are not mystical, but have logical and sensible
understanding. Every scripture if expounded correctly has perfect meaning.
It does not have multiple understanding but only one understanding. It may
have multiple application but it will have only one understanding (which is
3 dimensional). The Greek term for heresy does not mean wrong doctrine but
means choosing from multiple options. There is only one right, thus making
all others wrong.

In OT Truth is symbolized by the pomegranate fruit and when we open one and
analyze its construction we will understand design of the Word of God. The
fruit holds many little blood red jewels (arils) each having a seed within
that can bring forth life to many. Every ‘jewel’ is unique in shape and
cannot be moved and placed elsewhere within the fruit, they all
interconnect airtight as one. Devil too knows the symbolism of the
pomegranate and thus amongst Catholics in Greece they have a chapel devoted
to the Madonna del Granato meaning "Our Lady of the Pomegranate".

Bible says although the Word was given through Prophets before Jesus yet
grace and truth came only through Jesus Christ. That means although the
Prophets before spoke the Word of God yet they did not have the proper
complete understanding of it. So our doctrine should in no way contradict
that what Jesus said. Lord Jesus Christ gave us His Spirit the Spirit of
Truth (Holy Spirit) who reveals the right understanding of the scripture
that is why by studying the Word of God one does not truly understand it
and requires the Holy Spirit to reveal it and when He reveals it, the
scripture makes perfect sense.

The Word of God is called ‘Instructions to this Life’ by Angels so was
given to save and build our life. They bring transformation and spiritually
edify the person causing one to receive the countless blessings God has
given. Above all they cause man to receive his Heavenly inheritance. So
every doctrine that does not edify fails the test. Sound doctrine is
compared to true worship. Like worship brings one closer to God so does
sound doctrine. Although sound doctrine is compared to worship yet without
sound doctrine one cannot truly worship.

Let us test every doctrine and not gulp anything given by anyone even if it
is given in Church or by someone who calls himself a Man of God and holds a
Bible in his hand.

Lord You are Awesome God. You Lord are perfect and there is none perfect
like You. It is for this reason You alone are called Holy. Lord we pray we
who are called to be perfect may become so by your Word which is given to
build us, correct us and help us inherit that which You have set for us...

Did Jesus know everything?

John 13:21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and
testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall
betray me.

We see many places Jesus had foreknowledge of things like in today’s
message he speaks of one of His twelve disciples betraying Him. John 6
verse 70-71 is the earliest scripture which shows Jesus had the
foreknowledge of one of His disciples betraying Him. The writer John puts a
note saying He was referring to Judas Iscariot as being the betrayer. Did
Jesus Himself know that it would be Judas who would betray? That is
something that needs to be investigated in depth.

We also see when Jesus was asked about Judgment Day when the end will come,
although He being the one who would come on that day to Judge yet He says
no man or Angel knows that day but only God (Matthew 24:36).

Jesus Christ is God who humbled Himself and became man. In John 17 He says
He gave up His glory before creation and awaits the day when He will return
to the Father and be restored His glory. The word ‘glory’ does not truly
mean fame / splendor as understood in Greek. In Hebrew the word comes from
the root word meaning ‘to be heavy’ / ‘to be full’. So as God, He emptied
Himself (foundation of creation) and then became man. Philippians 2:5-11
addresses to this emptying.

Jesus as human studied scriptures and grew in Spirit receiving wisdom,
understanding and Fruits of the Spirit like any other human. The only
differences between Him and us are that in spirit He was not created while
we are, He was born human without blemish (inherited sinful nature since he
was born without human father/mother (Hebrews 7) - Mary was His surrogate
mother thus was born of her even though she was a virgin and sinner) also
no sin was found in Him even until He died on the Cross. Since He kept
Himself perfect in the eyes of the Father thus scripture says God the
Father found it worthy to dwell in Him wholly (we receive part of the 7
Spirits of the Holy Spirit).

Jesus’ knowledge of one of the twelve betraying Him was based on OT
scriptures understanding of the twelve tribes (twelve sons of Jacob) and
scriptures in Psalms. Although He came to save the world yet His personal
ministry was only about the twelve that is why when He gave an account to
the Father He spoke of not losing any one of the twelve leaving for the one
which it was already written about. This He said although He preached to
thousands and only 120 did abided in Him (they were the ones gathered in
the upper room) and another 3000 who were double minded thus stood outside
where the 120 gathered but later accepted Him.

Today’s message says the man Jesus grieved in spirit like any other man in
anguish would. It is only in understanding of the wholeness of the Lord
Jesus Christ – one who is God, God the Son, Son of God, Christ and man
Jesus that we understand the oneness of the Father, the Son and His Spirit.
Our hope in our salvation is also based on the fact He overcome and we have
received His Spirit (Holy Spirit) the one behind His success.

Today the Lord also asking us do we grieve in spirit like Jesus if we lose
someone who was given unto us and backslides? Can we account for those
given to us even though we may preach to the whole world?

your love that a part of You humbled Himself and became man to make the way
when there was no way and to show us how to walk in that way by the help of

Approval of man

John 7:47,48 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived? Have
any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?

One of the first questions today asked to any person ministering is ‘who
was your mentor?’ If that person gives name of a famous person then there
is no questions asked about his own understanding (doctrine) and he or she
is given open doors.

Jesus said there is only one teacher and that is the Lord (Holy Spirit).
When we use the term ‘Christ’ it refers to both the man Jesus and His
Spirit the Holy Spirit. Jesus as man Himself stepped aside and let His
Spirit take up the role of teaching and leading His disciples. What He
taught them was understood only when the Holy Spirit took over His
disciples. So the Holy Spirit is key to discipleship and building a person
spiritually (spiritual maturity).

In the Catholic Church we see the Holy Spirit has been replaced by a spirit
which comes in the name of ‘Mary the Mother of Jesus’. She is the person
they seek guidance and help from, thus one finds all the attributes or
reverence due to the Holy Spirit is given to this spirit. It si for this
reason they lack understanding of scriptures and Kingdom of God.

In the Believer Church the scene is not different, a large part of the
Church have placed the Holy Spirit with man as their ‘guide’, ‘helper’ and
‘teacher’. It is man leading man and not the Holy Spirit leading man and
this is the prime reason why we are in this very, very slow growth rate. Go
to a Bible book shop and there are very few books which help true Bible
study but hundreds and thousands of books of what people have to say about
the Bible. They may be helpful for starters but become nursery rhymes for
those who seek deep Bible study.

The Proverb 27:17 about Iron sharpening iron is not a statement of fact but
a contradictory statement. One who sharpens objects knows if they are of
the same material and hardness then they only create sparks and noise but
do no sharpening. A man can guide another only as much as one’s capacity
but cannot make the person better than one’s self. Also of the 100 things a
man is taught, man usually learns a percentage of it and rarely get all
100. So when man teaches man it is only downhill and not uphill.

In a Church the Pastor had people who grew up and did much better than him.
It happened only when he was sent to another place that these people grew
spiritually. People referred to him as mentor but did not realize after a
period the mentor became the obstacle of growth so had to be move out of
the way. When I heard him preach it was confirmed to me why he was moved
out. The good things is he obeyed to the Lord asking him to go out and did
not hold on to his position.

We may start our spiritual growth with the help of another human mentor or
we who mentor others need to realize we ultimately need to get people to be
led by the Holy Spirit and none other. It is only the Holy Spirit who can
mature us truly. The basics that we as man who have learnt from Him can
share with others but more than what we know has to come from the Holy
Spirit. It others do not grow beyond us then how will one day the
(complete) truth be known to mankind and mankind be set free.

From Children to Heirs

Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs
with Christ; if so be that we suffer with [him], that we may be also
glorified together.

In the OT we see there were many rules set for inheritance like it was only
for sons and not daughters, after a certain age and according to (12)
tribe. These rules were not to discriminate between gender, age or race /
families / tribes but were symbolic to spiritual things that are enforce to
our inheritance in the true Promised Land which is Heaven.

Today’s message addresses to one of the factors that will decide if we do
enter Heaven or not. Today’s message talks of spiritual maturity. Heaven is
our inheritance and to inherit one of the condition is to mature in Spirit.
Bible says those who are led by the Spirit of God becomes Sons of God. The
term Sons of God in Greek used for mankind in Romans 8:14 is not the same
as used in other places, we find most places children of God translated as
Sons of God like in John 1:12. The scripture talks of us receiving the
Spirit of Adoption (Spirit of the Son) and it is only in the transformation
(overcoming of the flesh) by the Spirit that we too become Sons.

Sons and daughters is nothing to do with the natural gender but to do with
the spiritual image in which God created man and woman. So naturally we may
be male but yet be spiritual daughter and vice versa. Also it is not about
each and every one being totally transformed into Sons of God. For
plurality we need more than one and that is what is why God requires only
two. Bible tells us two amongst us (two witnesses) will succeed, the whole
of creation awaits this event and this triggers Rapture (when the Lord
calls them up after they are slain).

It was two (Adam and Eve) who caused the fall of all mankind (man was
exiled from Heaven) and it is two that God requires to restore mankind’s
access to Heaven. That does not mean all will enter Heaven but means those
who in the process of becoming Sons of God. The two witnesses may be the
pinnacle of the pyramid which causes the whole pyramid to receive
inheritance.

Today the Lord is asking us are we in the race of Sonship. Are we daily
battling the flesh and overcoming it. It does not matter how we started but
matters when we sleep were we still in battle. We also need to push others
up the pyramid by disciplining them so our inheritance day comes quickly.

Do not be like the hare that lost the race (in the story of hare and
tortoise). Let us be consistent and persistent, pursuing our inheritance by
dying daily, crucifying our carnal old man.

Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord desire us to be transformed in Spirit
so that we can receive that which You have set for us in Heaven. Bible says
no (worldly) eyes have seen and (worldly) mind can imagine the things You
have planned for us. These things You reveal to those who love You and your

that we receive our inheritance...

Mortal sin immortal impact

Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should
obey it in the lusts thereof.

These past few days we were told about the importance of good deeds, how
they are Integral to our salvation; yet understanding good deeds and its
impact on the Fruits of the Spirit is not easy to understand.

Like good deeds and its consequence is not easy to understand similarly sin
and its consequence too is not easy to understand. Sin and sin nature are
two different things like works of righteousness and works of faith are,
even though they may look alike yet its background and purpose is necessary
to account.

We need to get one fact down into us. Bible says the sinner will not enter
the Kingdom of God but does not say that those who sin will not be able to
enter the Kingdom of God. This statement may sound alarming or
contradicting.

We know the mercy and grace of God is there that saves us when we have
faith. But there also is the truth that we need to keep the faith and we
cannot take the Lord’s mercy and grace for granted. So if we sin God
forgives when we approach Him but like today’s message says if we let sin
to resign in us then we put on the nature of sin and that will not allow us
to receive forgiveness nor enter the Kingdom of God.

A person who has lied and a lair is not the same. A person who lied can be
forgiven but a liar need to be transformed for that person has the nature
to keep lying and forgiving such a person would be like pouring water on a
duck’s back.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 and Colossians 3:5-15, along with today’s message
clearly warns us of the danger of remaining in sin and letting it reign in
us. We may be weak and may stumble but we are called to not remain weak and
not remain down if we stumble. We are called to fight that nature and to
overcome that nature which causes us to falter. Bible says ‘put on the Lord
Jesus Christ’ and that means to imitate Him and let His nature rub into us.
How can we ‘put on’ the Lord Jesus Christ if we do not do good deeds like
He did?

So for every Christian good deeds is essential but also essential is the
reason of doing the good deeds. They should not be done to justify one’s
self, for that would make them deeds of (worldly) righteousness. They
should be done as being disciple of Christ, people who follow Christ, a
nature imbedded into us, a nature we receive from the Heavenly Father.

Lord You are a Holy God. The Upper Heavens are a Holy place and nothing
unholy can dwell and still live there. Lord we pray we understand the
importance of transformation in spirit. We pray we do not transform into
evil but transform into the image of the invisible Christ...

Moses sought the invisible Christ

Hebrew 11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king:
for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Many years back my WORD STUDY of the Word of God started with trying to
figure out when the word ‘Lord’ was mentioned, who exactly did it refer to?
Was it the Father, Son or the Holy Spirit?

At that time I had no knowledge of Hebrew or Greek languages and never
dreamt one day I would be able to learn them; it was then I just came to
know about Strong numbers wherein each and every Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek
word (with their renderings) are numbered. It was only by the grace of God
that He started revealing me things I would not even imagine. I was happy
He did not allow me to join regular Bible College for what I learnt from
Him would never have been acceptable to me.

The book of Hebrews almost totally addresses to the divinity of Christ and
today’s message talks of Moses and before that Noah and their relationship
with Christ.

As one learns the Hebrew language its alphabets are ideograms which
represent objects so when we take the name Yahweh written in scriptures as
YHWH is not a name but an ideographic description of who it was that spoke
to the Men of God in the OT. The word recodes as ‘Behold the Hand Behold
the Nail’ which directly speaks of Christ.

As I went into every word referring to God (including Baal/Baali which
means unknown God/god – sometimes also used for our God) I found that
scriptures in OT mostly spoke of the Son and the Holy Spirit as Lord, there
were very few scriptures that actually mentioned the Father directly. It
was only when the Godhead (divine oneness relationship between the Father,
Son and Holy Spirit) was slowly revealed that things became very clear to
me.

So today when I read scriptures where Jesus did not allow people to worship
Him yet said if they did not lift Him up then there would be no salvation
for them, such scriptures are no contradiction and are very clear to me.
Also things like humbling of the God the Son from the foundation of
creation (even before man was created) hit me more than knowing His
sacrifice on the Cross (of which I know more details than most do). His
love was manifested to man on the Cross but the true extend of His love is
hidden from almost all mankind. It is only in the understanding of the
humbling of God to God the Son to the invisible Christ to the visible
Christ Jesus and knowing the plans God has for us mere man that we really
understand the love that God has for mankind. Let us not confuse study of
this with the heretic teachings of those who promote ‘Jesus Only’ nor on
the other hand fall into the trap of the Catholic Church doctrine which
says ‘Jesus is Lord’ but made Him a mere man god and a woman His mother in
Heaven.

Today in the morning as I got up I saw some photos of the man Jesus (as
illustrated by Catholic Church) and thought to myself would I one day have
the courage to throw them away knowing they are not of the Christ we
worship, we seek.

Today the Lord is asking us whom do we seek the visible Christ (including
one which the world has created) or the invisible Christ? He is asking can
we be like Josiah (2 Kings 23:1-25, 2 Chronicles 34:1-7) who pleased God.
Bible says God seeks those who worship Him in Spirit and Truth.

Let us from today have a relationship with the invisible Christ like Noah,
Abraham, Moses, David, Daniel and other in OT including Paul and other in
the NT did (Paul did not see the man Jesus even when He appeared to him).

Lord You are Almighty God and You alone are God for there is none other
than You. You are one and You are Spirit. Lord we pray more and more come
to know You and thus know the love You have for us. Lord we pray You give
us courage like Josiah the King that we bring down the deception and
spiritual adultery that is happening in your name...

Washing the feet – not act of humility but of righteousness

John 13:5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the
disciples’ feet, and to wipe [them] with the towel wherewith he was girded.

People mistake the act of Jesus washing of feet of His disciples as an act
of humility. They can only understand it if they put themselves in the era
of this happening and know the traditions/beliefs of the Jews.

For Jews washing is a very important tradition and belief. They follow
something like what Hindus believe today, they believed washing can wash
the sins of a person.

In the Bible the scriptures concerning washing of sins does not use the
regular Greek word used for washing but uses the word that refers to
washing / cleaning of a wound. Like in Baptism taking the dip does not
transform the person but starts the process of transformation so also
washing is an act of start of repentance. God had commanded in the OT that
any person who entered the Holy Place (symbolizing Heaven) without washing
their hands and feet would die; it had nothing to do with cleanliness but
with repentance. Without repentance no one can enter Heaven. In this
washing, the hands washing symbolize repentance of sin the person does
knowingly (deeds) and washing of feet symbolize repentance of sins one does
unknowingly (walk of life). The breaking of unleavened bread was one of the
sacrifices of Moses which was called the Sacrifice of Guilt (it included a
ram and Jesus was the ram which was slain for our sins).

Jesus gave His disciples authority to forgive sins when He said what we
bind on earth will be bound in Heaven and whatever we release on earth will
be released in Heaven. He confirms this when He said Son of Man has
authority to forgive sins (referring not only to Himself). So when any
person comes with repentance a Man or Woman of God standing in authority of
God can forgive the sins of that person.

Jesus could only wash their feet and not their hands for one has to wash
one’s owns hands by acknowledging the sins which are known to that person.
It is for this reason Paul says those who come in an unworthy manner to the
table of the Lord would suffer sickness and even death for mocking the
sacrifice. How can a person ask for forgiveness of sins which one has done
unknowingly when one has not repented for sins one knows. Repentance and
asking God for forgiveness is not about simply saying sorry but requires
the person to do good to that person sinned against. A heart full of hatred
or envy can never receive forgiveness by simply saying ‘sorry’ and not
getting rid of the hate or envy.

Jesus’ washing the feet was an act of righteousness which we all who
believe in Him and follow Him are called to do. We need not do the natural
act of washing the feet (the Apostles also did not) but we are called to
pray over people or break unleavened bread with them for the forgiveness of
their sins. It is this sacrifice which is called also the ‘Daily Sacrifice’
indicating the frequency at which it needs to be done.

Yesterday at service the Preacher asked ‘how many times does God forgive
us’?
The answer lies in the prayer Our Father, where it says the Lord ‘gives us
our daily bread and forgives our transgresses’. Forgiveness needs to be
sought daily like we do for food.

who approach your Throne of Grace, repentance is an act that cause us to

Glory of Judah - David - Jerusalem

Zachariah 12:7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the
glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem
do not magnify [themselves] against Judah.

A few days back my daughter who studies in a Catholic Convent School came
to me for inputs on a drawing which her teacher had assigned her class. She
was to draw objects which were considered ‘holy’ according to the Catholic
belief. I explained to her holiness is not an attribute that can be
acquired by objects but only by living beings, that too not animals or
plants but only humans and the beings of Heaven for these alone are created
in the image of God. Holiness is all about perfecting the image of God in
oneself since God alone is Holy. So even when God said ‘Holy Mountain’ or
‘Holy Land’ He did not mean the mountain or land but the Hebrew words means
lifted up and nations / people respectively. Similarly glory is also not
connected to objects but only living beings the objects are symbolic.

Today’s message talks of the glory of the tents (tabernacle) of David and
of Jerusalem and compares them to the glory of the tabernacle of Judah. If
we analyze the scripture Jerusalem being a place is equated with the glory
of David and that compared with the glory of Judah. If we take the
characters then this scripture does not make logical sense, but when we
take the meanings and the symbolism of the words then it does make perfect
sense.

Judah – praise – symbolizes those who glorify/praise the Lord – do His
mission
Jerusalem – peace – symbolizes those who make peace with the Lord – those
who believe in Him (in scriptures this word is written in two ways, one
symbolizes those who truly make peace and the other the false peace seekers
– those who use God for worldly desires)
David – beloved – symbolizes those who are loved by the Lord – those who
are called by Him

John 3:16 says God so loved the world that He gave His only Son as a
sacrifice so that those who (truly) believe in Him are saved. So all are
loved but from them only a few respond and make peace with God via Jesus
Christ the Peace Sacrifice. And from these a very few actually do the
mission of the Father and glorify Him (praise Him). So from the tabernacle
(Church) of David comes Church of Jerusalem and from Jerusalem come the
Church of Judah (true Church of Christ - sheep); remaining are the false
Church (goats).

Today’s message says the Lord upholds the glory of Judah (the True Church)
and will never let them down. Their glory will always exceed the glory of
Jerusalem and of David.

Father God You are Holy God and the only Holy One for in Heaven You are
glorified by shouts of Holy, Holy, Holy. In You alone is perfection
complete. A part of You gave up the glory and humbled Himself to become man
so as to lift us up to receive holiness. We pray Lord we understand unless
we do not transform from within and glorify You there can never be holiness
and we cannot be counted in Judah. We pray we do be satisfied being in
David or in Jerusalem but seek Judah...

Completion of Good Works

Philippians 1:6 Being confident [trusting] of this very thing, that he
which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of
Jesus Christ:

Many so called Christians especially Catholics think that social work or
serving the weaker and deprived of society are the good works the Lord has
called us to do. If we look at Acts 9:36 it speaks of a woman named Tabitha
/ Dorcas who is said was ‘full of good works and almsdeed’. Here her social
service and her good works are differentiated and not grouped together.

No doubt we are called to reach out to those who suffer in the natural but
our concentration should always be on those who suffer spiritually. It is
for this reason the Apostles got those who were growing spiritually to do
the social works while they themselves concentrated on spiritual works.

When Jesus spoke of Judgment Day where we will be judged if we fed the
hungry, quenched the thirsty, sheltered the homeless or clothed the naked,
has less to do with the naturally hungry, thirsty, homeless and naked but
more to do with the spiritually hungry, thirsty, homeless and naked. If we
shelter a homeless would we not clothe them, feed them and quench their
thirst? When we understand discipleship these are the very things that are
needed to make a person a disciple.

In today’s message we find Paul does not use the word of confirmation
(confidence) as mistranslated in English but uses the Greek word peitho
which comes from the root word ‘trust’. In some translations it is also
translated as persuading. So even though we are knowing the Lord we are not
sure of our salvation until the good work the Lord has started in us is
completed. This good work may happen in a short time or may take a long
time and that depends on our heart condition. We may think people like
Church leaders are good people from the outside but when one sees them
through spiritual eyes one will see even hardcore criminals are easier for
the Lord to work on than these.

Giving alms, doing social work, praying and fasting which are good things
are surprisingly used by people to hide their hardened hearts. It is really
shocking to see many people use a thing like praying to keep God away /
grieve the Spirit. God calls their prayers as blabbering with hands lifted
up that are full of blood. These people spiritually destroy others but show
themselves as pious on the outside.

Let us fear God and remember He does not give importance to our exterior
but gives importance to what we are internally. Let us work on the person
inside when ministering others as God works in us.

Lord You are Almighty and Holy God. You are Spirit and You Lord desire us
to be holy in spirit and not in appearance. We pray Father we do not try to
fool You with external works or by our ritualistic prayer and fasting but
understand You know the desires of our hearts and hear them even before we
open our mouth when we walk in your ways. We pray we open our spiritual eye
and see the real us...

Testing of self and of works by fire

1 Corinthians 3:12-15
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious
stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it,
because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s
work of what sort it is.
14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive
a reward.
15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself
shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

One may have heard the term ‘straw man argument’. It comes from children
rhyme ‘there is a hole in my bucket’. The rhyme is about finding a
solution to fix the hole in the bucket, it calls for the use of straw and
use of a bucket to fill water but since there is a hole in the bucket the
solution goes in a circle. The problem here is the assumption of existence
of only one bucket.

Salvation and works seems a circular logic. Salvation is not by works yet
works is required to confirm one’s salvation. Here too if we consider
existence of only one kind of work then it becomes a circular logic.

Works of righteousness are different from works of faith. The root of
salvation is faith. It is only by grace we are saved and this grace we
receive by our faith and not by works of righteousness. Works of faith on
the other hand confirm our faith and keep us rooted in grace and salvation.
No faith, no grace and thus no salvation.

Paul, Peter, James and even Jesus spoke of the importance of ‘good works’.
These good works is about showing the love and compassion of the Father
unto others, it also includes doing the mission that Christ gave unto us.

Like said before these works do not save us they simply confirm our
salvation, so less or more does not matter but the quality of work does
affect our reward in Heaven. If we preach to people but do not build them
in Christ and they turn out to be goats instead of sheep then we do not
receive any reward for that. The more we build others in the Lord the
better reward we receive. The question comes are rewards necessary?

One need to firstly understand Heaven is not a flat place, it has levels
and Paul speaks of 3 levels of the Upper Heavens (translated as Third
Heaven) where the glory of God is enthroned. So let us not just desire to
go to Heaven but seek to receive the high crown (higher levels) of Heaven.
The secret is not in the quantity but in the quality. Quantity does matter
but large quantity without quality is just waste, on the other hand quality
with less quantity is better.

The Lord has been telling us since these few days to open our eyes and
concentrate of building Disciples for the Lord and not just Believers. Let
us not wake up on Judgment Day finding all those whom we bought in the Lord
were goats and none were sheep. We may be saved due to our personal faith
and personal walk (test by fire) but then we will land up in the lower
levels of Upper Heavens and not nearer to the Throne of Glory. In Heaven do
not be surprised to find top TV Preachers experiencing this while unknown
people getting the high crowns.

Lord You are Holy God and the Heavens are a Holy place. Lord we pray we are
not deceived into vanity. We pray we concentrate on giving our best, not
just in quantity but more in quality. We pray we do not seek our own fame
and glory but seek your Nature / you Name...

Can God be troubled?

John 13: 21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and
testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall
betray me.

It is a good thing that people from other religions are spiritually unwise
else most of the Christians would not be Christians. Once in a while a
person like Ahmed Deedat comes along who is not really ‘wise’ but cunning
and causes many Christians to fall and give up Christ. Even today his
videos are used to cause even people like Bible teachers of colleges to
give up Christianity and accept Islam.

Today’s message is one of the arguments that Islamic Dawah (debaters -
equivalent to our Apologist) use. If Jesus is God then how was He troubled
in spirit? They quote scriptures from OT where God says He ‘repented’,
their argument is - God is all knowing and omnipotent so then how can He
repent or make mistakes?

The problem lies with us that we as Believers believe a lot of Catechism of
the Catholic Church which are not Biblical. We imported mythological/pagan
terms like ‘incarnation’, ‘trinity’ etc. via the Catholic Church into
Christianity to explain things we do not understand and thus distorted that
which we tried to understand. If these are taken for discussion immediately
the person is branded as ‘heretic’. Fools do not understand the Greek term
‘heretic’ means ‘one who chooses one of the many options to suite one’s
intention’.

All scriptures have only one meaning or one interpretation which is right.
There are many applications of a scripture but interpretation cannot be
many. It is our lack of understanding that causes us to have lesser or
wrong interpretation of a scripture. Lesser understanding is not the
problem but wrong understanding is. If we go by the truth almost all
preachers will stand being branded as ‘heretics ‘for almost all quote each
other without themselves studying the scripture in its depth. I can give
many examples which will cause them to blush.

It is only in the understanding of who the Lord Jesus Christ was, is and
will be that we can understand why as man He was troubled. Even in the OT
we need to know who the Lord was that said He repented.

God is a divine being, who is Omnipresent, Omnipotent and full of Wisdom
that cannot be measured. He does not repent nor be troubled. The Lord Jesus
Christ as man did all things like any human including getting troubled and
repent to show us He as man was fully man. So when He said He overcame it
gives us an assurance we too can overcome.

Lord You are Almighty God, You are omnipresent and omnipotent. There was
nothing, is nothing and will be nothing that is not known to You. Your Word
says a part of You gave up your glory, humbled Himself and became a mere
man lower than the Angels. Lord we pray we understand your sacrifice and
know to what level You went to save man...

Can one death save millions or billions?

John 11:50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should
die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

There is a famous scriptures which every Christian confesses ‘Christ was
bruised for us’, ‘He died for our sins’, ‘He paid our price on the Cross so
that we are saved and receive eternal life’...

When these are put to a non-believer or even when a believing Christian is
further questioned ‘how?’, almost all fail to correctly explain how, for
most do not study the OT. They will rattle scriptures from the letters of
Paul not remembering that Paul spoke only milk since his people did not
have spiritual discernment.

The punishment that Jesus bore on His crucifixion as shown in the movie
‘Passion of Christ’ is not even a percentage of that which actually
happened, yet can that punishment justify the sins of all those who believe
and saved? The point is not about how much but about who bore it.

In Philippines and other countries during the Passover we see insane people
carrying wooden crosses and at times crucifying themselves on it to imitate
the crucifixion of Christ. They want to bear a part of the punishment
Christ bore!

There is a simple situation I put forth, if there is a million people in a
room who are set to damnation and there is one exit which is locked. How
many people would it take to open that locked door and set the people free?
Answer is just one. The problem is the requirement is about perfection that
is required in that person to become the key that opens the door. Jesus
became that man who opened the door so that who so ever walks through it
will be saved.

Let us understand how Jesus saved us so that we are confident of our
salvation and also we are sure if we have met the requirement to receive it..

Father God, You are an all knowing, merciful God. You Lord made a sacrifice
available for us even before we sinned. You knew man would not be able to
be saved unless You stepped in. We thank You Lord for becoming the
sacrifice Jesus Christ who opened the door of salvation and we also thank

What is Truth?

John 18:38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said
this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him
no fault [at all].

In today’s world we have religions fighting one against another because
they strongly feel their belief is right while others are wrong and these
are called fanatics. We also have some who think all are right and each one
is looking at the same thing in different views and one will find these are
the lots who are mostly ignorant of the beliefs of any religion.

In today’s message we see Pontus Pilate who was the sixth Roman procurator
in the province of Judea and Samaria asks ‘what is truth’ and then goes on
to put forth his observation.

In Greek the word for truth is aletheia and it is a compound word of alpha
(symbolizing beginning) and lethes (meaning - no longer hidden) so means
something that existed and now is no longer hidden in other words truth
equates to revelation.

People confuse between fact and truth. Facts are based on the ones
knowledge or view of anything. Facts may not be wrong but if the situation
changes, fact too changes, truth on the other hand never changes for it is
absolute.

Hope and trust are ones believe on facts while faith and authority are
based on believe in the truth. Man can never have knowledge of the truth
since his view is not absolute for he is bound in the dimension of space
and time, truth has to come to him from someone who has absolute knowledge
or view of things and is not bound by space nor time.

In Islam we find Mohammed who is the author of the Quran says to believe
him for the Quran says to. He goes into what called circular logic where he
is the authenticator of his own claims. In other religions like Hinduism we
find facts are not authenticated or verified but believed simply because of
mass appeal. Bible on other hand has God the Holy Spirit as its author and
this is confirmed only when facts are verified, like no contradiction
between any scripture even though they are written by more than 44 persons
over a period of almost 1700years where they speak on common things. Since
faith is believing in the truth we find there is nothing like ‘blind faith’
for truth has to be verified to be believed.

Bible says the truth is revealed by the Spirit of God (The Son) and He is
also called the Spirit of Truth. We may study scriptures and know facts of
the Bible but it is only the Holy Spirit who reveals the truth. Getting
revelation from the Holy Spirit does not mean having complete knowledge.
Although revelation knowledge coming from the Holy Spirit in parts yet it
does not change as it is revealed like in the case of factual knowledge but
is built on that which exist.

Every scripture in the Bible has one absolute meaning and not many
meanings. It may be used or applied in many ways but there is no many
meanings. The Greek word heresy or heretic is a person who considers many
means of a scripture and chooses one of them.

As we study scriptures let us at the same time seek the help of the Spirit
of God and ask Him to reveal the truth to us. Let us not believe anything
given unto us by man or spirit for God Himself says ‘test / taste and see
for He is good’. Discernment is a sign of maturity and only when we discern
/ verify that we know as factual or truth we grow spiritually.

Word which does not change. Your Word says we do not receive for we lack
faith. Lord we pray we do not fall into heresy but have revelation

God of Anger

Romans 9:22 [What] if God, willing to shew [his] wrath, and to make his
power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to
{made for} destruction:

One may be taken back by the title ‘God of Anger’ I gave to today’s
message. We all know God as God of love, compassion, mercy but we forget
our God is also called God of longsuffering and patience which means He
delays punishment and keeps giving opportunity to change but does not hold
back the punishment if we fail to.

We always have been told God punishes when He is angry. In the OT we see
cases of God in His anger punishing. But when we go to the depth of
everything we see our God does not punish but they bought punishment on
themselves.

Let me take the case of Hell where it is said there is this eternal fire
that burns and souls suffer it. When we go in the depth of its study we see
the eternal fire is the sins that are within the person and the soul
suffers it till one’s spirit life (which is in thousands of years). So if
we see Hell is a prison / pit where the person suffers one’s sins which
never dies until the soul does (second death).

Coming to the term ‘anger’. The Greek word for wrath/anger is Orge and
comes from the root word ‘to reach out and touch’ / in normal human terms
means to strike or smite a person. God is not a human to smite like man so
when He touches us the effect of His touch - destruction or blessing,
depends on our personal condition. If we understand this we will understand
why God moved Adam and Eve out of their access to Heaven / Eden (where the
Tree of Life is) when they sinned (got corrupted) so that they (including
us who were in them) do not suffer but are given an opportunity to repent.

When we pray we ask God ‘touch me’; do we introspect the conditions of our
hearts before asking God to touch us? We should thank God He did not touch
us every time we asked Him to. Our God is a God who desires to touch us, to
reach out to us, but in His longsuffering He holds back many a times
because we people are hard hearted lot.

So next time let us not ask God to touch us with a hardened heart but ask
Him only when our hearts are hearts of repentance so that we experience His
goodness and not His wrath.

Lord You are a Compassionate God who is full of Love. But You God are also
Righteous and Holy. No corruption can dwell before You. You God moved the
fallen angels from Hell and also corrupt man so as to give them a chance to
repent and change. You knew the fallen angels would not but man would so
You are helping man in that change. Lord we thank You for helping us
change. We pray we acknowledge who You are and always approach You with a
heart full of repentance, always seeking correction...

Connecting in Ministry

Acts 18:2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come
from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded
all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.

Aquila was a former Jew who was born in the Greek city of Pontus which in
the modern era is the Black Sea Region of Turkey. Aquila with his wife
Priscilla had settled in Rome and were twice made to leave Rome. Today’s
message talks of the time when Claudius the Roman Emperor (41AD – 64AD)
commanded that all Jews leave Rome so Aquila and his wife moved to Corinth.
Josephus the historian does not record this incident but another known
Roman historian Suetonius, records in his book Life of Claudius, chapter 25
says, that “he expelled the Jews from Rome, who were constantly exciting
tumults under their leader, Chrestus.”

Earliest Christians were mostly former Jews and they were considered a sect
of Judaism and there were many sects in Judaism. People use to call early
Christian as ‘People of the Way’ since their way of life was different from
worldly people. Christian preachers would normally stay with former Jews
(Christians) whenever they moved to other cities.

Aquila and his wife were not practicing Jews but Christians, yet because of
their origin they were victimized along with the other Jews. On the other
hand Paul being a known former Jew was well identified as a breakaway Jew
so was persecuted by the main stream Jews and we see in Corinth the people
knowing Paul did not give him place to stay, so he had to hunt for one and
lastly got to stay with Aquila and his wife Priscilla who were also of the
same trade of tent making as Paul (they may have met in the market while
selling tents).

In my early 30s when I came to know about the truth I was upset why the
Lord bought me up in a Catholic family. I thought if I was born in a
Believer family I would have been a better Christian and may have been
active right in my early ages. But latter I realize my mission and the
harvest the Lord has given me would not have been achieved if I was not a
former Catholic.

Almost everything about us (not our doings) has a reason for the plans of
God in our lives. So let us not be upset what has happened but give thanks
to the Lord we did not remain there but He bought us in His light and we
can now be instruments to reach out to those who are still there.

I feel sad when I see Indian Preachers literally dying to go to countries
like US, Canada or other countries to minister to people there when God has
placed them in a country like India which has a great harvest. Let us do
the plans God has in our lives instead of doing our own and seeing no
fruits.

Lord You are an Awesome Almighty God. Your wisdom Lord is beyond measure
yet many of us humans try to advice You and correct You. Lord we ask for
forgiveness and correction in our ministries so that we do that which You
have called us to and not what we desire...

Unholy flesh and holy flesh

Zachariah 2:13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up
out of his holy habitation.

When the term flesh is used in the Bible we see various mixed aspects to
it, for instance flesh is considered carnal and yet Jesus says if we do not
eat His flesh we will not have anything to do with Him.

Biblically flesh symbolizes the desires of a person. If the flesh (person)
is worldly the desires are worldly (carnal – worldly enjoyment) and if the
flesh (person) is righteous then the desires are godly. Bones on the other
hand symbolize the character / nature of the person. It is for this reason
in the case of Jesus, His flesh was bruised but His bones were protected.

It is very important we get ourselves to dwell in the Kingdom (rule) of
God, which is eat the flesh (desires) of Christ so that our flesh (desires)
becomes the flesh of Christ.

When such things are preached people tend to get a little taken back and
confuse between the real flesh and the symbolism. But when we get into word
study, the study of the Hebrew and Greek words and its meaning, then the
understanding is better.

The Hebrew word for flesh is ‘basar’ and comes from the root meaning
‘message’. Jesus said if we do not eat His message (flesh) we will not have
life in us and will have nothing to do with Him, it is His message that
gives us life.

We humans are like mobile towers broadcasting message which is either holy
or unholy. We being corrupt beings since sin corrupted us, by default our
message (flesh) is a corrupt message and that is what today’ message tells
us to keep our thoughts and our message silent before the Lord.

Understand being forgiven does not mean corruption restored but only means
the penalty taken away. Corruption can only be restored by restoration of
the Fruits of the Spirit that is why Jesus after paying the price of our
sins made it a point that we receive His Spirit who helps us overcome
corruption.

Lord You are Holy God. You Lord alone are perfect and all beings lack,
including those who are in Heaven. It is only when we all are reconciled
unto You after Judgment Day that we will receive Holiness. Lord we pray
seek holiness and overcome the corrupt flesh that exist in us by consuming

Where most of our Ministries and Preachers fail...

1 Thessalonians 1:6 And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having
received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit:

We have so many Ministries with Preachers doing great work and working very
hard yet we hardly see any growth of the Church. The same people visit the
preaching or sit in Church in the same place (literally) they neither move
spiritually nor physically.

Christ commanded each and every Christian to witness Him unto others so if
one Christian manages to witness Christ to at least one soul in a year,
even then our Churches would double every year. But what we see is that the
percentage of Christianity growth (excluding birth in the family) is hardly
1.4%. I am being generous since total growth globally (including Catholics)
is between 1.8 to 2.3%. That means all the Preachers put together, with all
their stage shows and the extravagant money they spend, they together only
manage to add just 1 soul every year for every hundred Believers.

The main reason of failure of our ministries is not that Preachers are not
preaching the Gospel and making disciples but that they are making
disciples for themselves that is why ministries are growing but not
Churches. They get people to follow them and not follow Christ. If any
person follows Christ then they themselves will witness Christ and bring
others to Him.

We are getting things wrongs from the alphabet A in the Church. The fact
that we have distorted the meaning of the word Church we have changed its
purpose. The Greek word ‘ekklesia’ does not simply mean ‘congregation’, it
is a compound word made of two words which mean a ‘group of people’ + ‘with
a mission’. If we understand the mission which Christ gave then a Church
should be meeting only to go out and not keep people in.

It is time Pastors / Preachers / Ministers of the Word cut off the
umbilical cords with those whom they are ministering and let the Holy
Spirit take over. Let us stop baptizing people in our name even though we
take the name of Jesus or of the Father, Son and Spirit. It is time to stop
being ‘gods’ in the lives of other Christians and let them know God.

Lord You are God and You alone are God. Lord we fail to know You for we are
more attached to people than to You. Lord we pray we have a one to one
relationship with You. We pray we lead others not to ourselves but to You,
let them know who You are and how nothing is impossible to You...

Prescription to overcome fear

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power,
and of love, and of a sound mind.

We see on TV various games like ‘Fear Factor’ wherein a participant is made
to overcome fear by daring to do the very thing they fear. Facing what a
person fears does help a person to some extend to overcome it but yet as
the situation or intensity changes the fear need to be challenge again at
that level. Simply facing one’s fear not the perfect solution to overcome
it.

In today’s message Paul inspired by the Holy Spirit gives the perfect
prescription to overcome fear and that is power, love and understanding.
This recipe is not just spiritual but also natural and practical.

Let me take an example; before I had a fear of dogs because as a child I
was chased by dogs more than once so now when I got the opportunity I got
myself one. Today it is over a year and my relationship with dogs has
completely changed, my dog loves to sleep next to me on our bed, listens to
me immediately (even though she is untrained). This has happened not just
because I faced my fear (power) but more also because I have learnt to love
dogs, to understand them, their nature and their moods.

To overcome fear we need to have power, love and understanding. So if we
fear life/death (suicidal tendencies) we need to be ready for it, love life
and have a clear understanding of what life and death is. If we lack in any
one area we will always be struggling in that area. I took this example of
suicidal tendencies because yesterday a brother was talking to me on this
matter and today the Lord gave me this message. It is not only for him but
all who are facing this, or any such tough situation, you need to overcome
that fear with power, love and understanding. The Holy Spirit is always
there to help in these 3 areas and if you are having problems communicating
with Him, please do get in touch immediately with someone who does, nothing
is too difficult for our God is indeed God.

Lord You are Almighty and Awesome God. Lord we pray we overcome our fear
with power (courage), love and understanding. We pray we crush the plans of
the enemy which are for our destruction. We rebuke and bind the powers that
are working for the destruction of your children. We speak courage, love
and understanding...

Mummification in Judaism

John 11:39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him
that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath
been [dead] four days.

In Judaism mummification is not called mummification but called embalmment
and as per records at times was a forty day process unlike the Egyptian
seventy day process where they started with taking out (partly) the brain
by making a hole near to the nostril openings and later taking out the
internal organs and filling the hollow body with spices.

In Judaism the oldest records of Jewish embalmment starts with Jacob at the
hands of Joseph’s servants, this helped carry the body through their long
return journey. Later it was for Joseph himself, whose bones (not
symbolically but completely) were later taken during the Exodus. The
Egyptian customs were modified and gradually watered down to embalmment
which was totally discontinued only a few hundred years back (AD 1700s).

The Jews (especially from northern Israel - Galilee / Samaria) initially
would dress it with expensive clothes and embalm the body. They would even
bury weapons of war used by the person or personal expensive objects that
were of no utility unto others. This is due to their misunderstanding of
scriptures from Samuel, Isaiah and Ezekiel. During the time of Jesus, 3
days the person’s body was partially (externally) embalmed, wrapped and was
available for visit. It was only at the end of the third day that they
would do the excessive embalmment and seal the tomb. The three day wait was
kept because some people who were declared dead later woke up after a
period.

In the case of Jesus before placing His body in the tomb they had embalmed
it externally and wrapped it with linen cloth. Mary (who was from Galilee
where these customs were strong) and her team had not got the time/space to
do much since the events to the crucifixion happened quickly, 5 days from
Jesus getting arrested on Saturday (Jewish Sabbath) evening after
celebration the start of feast of week of Unleavened Bread and Paschal week
(the Jews celebrated both together from Babylonian times). Jesus fulfilled
scriptures of being the Paschal Lamb that was observed for 5days where He
did not speak a word even though He went through great torture, especially
at the hands of the Romans. He was crucified on Thursday evening for Friday
was the Paschal Feast (High Sabbath).

The Mary team (women – there were at least 3 Marys in this team) after
placing Jesus’ body in the tomb started preparing spices for the next
process which they would need on the third day. In Jesus’ case no one was
allowed to visit the tomb due to security reasons, the stone was rolled on
the first day itself while for Lazarus it was done on the usual third day.
It was for this reason Martha confirmed the state of the body with
confidence even though they had wrapped it with spices. In Lazarus’ case
they used proper burial cloth bands like the Egyptians did. Jesus’ weeping
at the tomb of Lazarus was not for his death (Jesus came there to resurrect
him and planned it from the time He knew he died) but wept seeing all the
vain customs that they did (including the hired mourners).

The Lord is telling us our lack of understanding of scriptures and our
faith in worldly people more than in God causes us to do things that are
vain and foolishness before God. We may not be doing embalmment but even
today we do things with regards to the dead which are foolish, like
dressing the body in suites (expensive clothes) and placing it in expensive
coffins. Biblically we are called to simply wrap the body in a cloth and
burry it for quick decomposing of the body. Christians also foolishly
believe testimonies concerning the dead which are contrary to scriptures.

Let us not behave like children of darkness even though we know Christ, but
let us do all things with proper understanding of scriptures and the
Kingdom of God.

Caves, Groves and Grottos

John 11:38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave.
It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

In the Bible the first mention of a cave is when Abraham purchased one as a
burial place for his wife and later was also used for himself, Isaac, Jacob
and his wives Rebecca and Leah. Mostly the rich or the famous like Prophets
were buried in caves. In the Bible we see caves used as refuge place and
Abraham knew natural death was not the end of life he knew he would sleep
in the Lord for a moment and then have glory in Him on Judgment Day.

The Egyptians believed death as pathway to the after-life and their
understanding of life after death was an insane concept. They thought the
dead would arise in the flesh so they tried to preserve the flesh by
embalming the body and wrapped it in spices and bands. They knew the
necessary organs within the body would not last long so they removed them
and preserved them in jars. They thought the brain was useless therefore
left it as it is, but removed everything from eyes to heart, lungs,
kidneys, and other important organs.

Biblically cave was the end of natural life and not doorway (pathway) for
this life to continue into the next life. We read pagans in the Bible used
caves as pathways. Groves (Hebrew word means ‘pathways’ - made mostly of
trees) were used mainly to worship their gods (mostly goddesses). Soon
caves became groves (pathways) which today is called Grottos. Even today we
find idols kept in grottos both amongst Catholics and pagan religions.
Caves are important places of worship across worldly religions and
symbolize worship of the dead for them they are pathways. In Islam we find
Mohammed was anointed ‘prophet’ due to an incident in a cave (an evil
spirit tried to coke him and he was told by his Catholic uncle it was the
Angel Gabriel) and Catholics worship ‘Mother Mary’ (the spirit that comes
as the ‘mother of Jesus’) who seems to have appeared in a cave (in
Lourdes).

Jesus grieved in Himself because the sisters of Lazarus used the cave not
as a burial place for the body of Lazarus but as a pathway for they had
partly performed the Egyptian rituals of the dead on him like many of the
Jews from Galilee / Samaria (northern Israel) did. Mary the mother of Jesus
also being from Galilee tried the same with the body of Jesus but due to
His resurrection on the third day, they could not complete the pagan
rituals due on the third day.

Let us understand everything worldly about us, our material riches, our
fame, our skills, our knowledge, our relationships (family and friends)
etc. all we leave behind here as we die. They may be as testimonies of
blessings or warning for people living in this world. So let us not seek
worldly things of the flesh for our spirit alone lives unto punishment
(suffer our sins) or eternal life in Heaven enjoying the glory of God.

Lord You are Living God and eternal, there is no beginning nor end to You.
You alone have life within yourself and this You gave to your Son. We Lord
as your children do have the privilege to enjoy eternal life in You through
the Tree of Life which exist in Heaven. Lord we pray we understand the
difference between worldly life and spiritual life. We pray we seek more
the things of the spirit and not of the flesh...

Judges 3:7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD,

groves.

1 Kings 14:15 For the LORD shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the
water, and he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he gave to
their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have
made their groves, provoking the LORD to anger.

Expectation of man

Acts 3:5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them..

In the night I had a very crazy dream of people attending a marriage. The
people are dancing and some small kids getting into a synchronized dance
which looked very cute. Soon the very little kids left the dance floor and
went near to the trees to break fruits by throwing stones at them. Suddenly
I saw the people staying nearby rushing to save their things. These very
small kids were joined by little bigger kids and now they were not throwing
stones at the fruits on the tree but to small kittens that were playing
nearby. What happened next was even more insane as the bigger teenage kids
joined them and now they were not stoning the fruits nor the kittens but
each other, that too very large stones which could easily kill them. When
asked why they were doing such an insane thing they said they were just
having fun. Suddenly the scene changes I see the city with a large number
of Christians and huge grand churches with even the poor (looking) people
coming in big cars. But as I peeked in one of the churches I find it almost
empty and dark with the Pastor sitting like a watchman.

Corrupt man in himself is insane and his priorities and desires only cause
disasters to himself. If God had to give man what he desires then mankind
would have been domed.

Yesterday’s message was telling us about prayer and today’s message of what
we seek. In today’s message the lame man carried by his family to the
temple entrance had only one desire of getting money so as to feed himself
and his family. What we see he received is something he did not expect or
dream of.

Let us not rush to God all the time for our worldly desires. Let it be
material things, relationships, medical things, etc. Let us trust Him for
our provisions and our protection. He said if He can take care of the birds
then why He would not do the same for us who are made in His image.

Lord You are Almighty and Merciful God. You God created us for great things
but due our corrupt nature we seek things of vanity things that cause our
destruction more than our edification. Lord we pray we transform our minds
and desires according to your heart and not ours...

Predestined or Foreknowledge?

John 12:38 That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which
he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of
the Lord been revealed?

There is a feeling amongst Christians ‘since God has chosen me to know Him
so He will take me through even if I do not follow Him and do things which
are contrary to what He has commanded of me’.

Christians know killing is a sin and so also is lying and robbing but due
to their believe in ‘predestined salvation’ they become licensed killers
(spiritually killing people) and Robinhoods even though they rob and lie to
mostly fill their own pockets (unlike the character in the story).

Ephesians 1 and Romans 8 is mostly misquoted to justify predestinated
salvation (Once Saved Always Saved). When asked about characters like
Judas, Balaam, Adam, Eve, first lot of Israelites who left Egypt (leaving
for Moses, Aaron, Joshua and Caleb) and other characters named by Paul like
Hymenaeus, Alexander and Philetus they give vague answers. All these were
not unbelievers but people who believed in Yahweh / Jesus Christ. Amongst
these Paul especially talks of Alexandra and Hymenaeus who misled other
believers with false doctrines. Alexandra having good orator skills was not
a match for even the knowledgeable Paul to confront in public.
Interestingly Hymenaeus preached on a false understanding of resurrection
similar to predestined salvation (OSAS) and both go against Judgment Day.

I have mentioned before Jesus said ‘He is the Way’ that means we need to
walk that way and since it is not easy to walk the way He gave us His
Spirit (Helper) who helps us walk the way. It is for this reason we need to
be baptized both in Jesus Christ and His Spirit. Jesus by His sacrifice
made available His Spirit so those who are baptized in Him receive the
promise of the Holy Spirit. It is baptism in the Holy Spirit which really
does the job of making one a Christian (one does not become a Christian by
simply believing in Christ but by following Christ).

The Greek word Baptizo translated as baptism comes from the word Bapto
which was a term used for dying of a cloth, so it does not simply mean
dipping or immersing but means being transformed to what we are dipped in
(baptized in). What is more interesting, no preacher tells you is that
Baptizo means repeated immersion, which means it is a continual process
which one goes through as a Christian until one transforms into the image /
Name of Christ (Father / Son / Spirit) which we are baptized in.

Today’s message talks of foreknowledge of God knowing who will believe in
Him and who will walk the way to be transformed. Bible says many are called
(those who believe) but few are chosen (who walk the way). Those who are
called but do not walk the way are termed as goats (which are greater in
numbers) and those who are called and walk the walk the way are termed as
sheep (fewer in numbers). It is the sheep who enter Heaven and not the
goats on Judgment Day.

Just because we believe in Christ let us not take God and Heaven for
granted. Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 10 all who are fornicators,
idolaters, adulterers, effeminate, abusers of themselves with mankind,
thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers or extortioners will not enter the
Kingdom of God. After believing, repenting and being forgiven in Jesus
Christ if we still backslide and put on our former selves is there any
other sacrifice to save us?

Lord You are God who is all knowing and Almighty. Even though everything is
possible for You yet You desire a willing heart. Even though You know the
result yet You put man to test like You did to Abraham. Lord We pray we
hold on to your Spirit and surrender to His corrections...
