Bruce Ohr’s 302s reveal Trump research was being shared with top Obama officials

Notes from a 2016 conversation between the FBI and former Deputy Associate Attorney General Bruce Ohr have been released. Known as Form 302’s, they summarize what was said during the interview.

That’s bad news for Obama administration officials. On November 22, Ohr told agents that “reporting on Trump’s ties to Russia were going to the [Hillary] Clinton campaign, Jon Winer at the U.S. State Department and the FBI.” At the time, Winer was serving as a senior aide to then-Secretary of State John Kerry.

Tying it all together
The documents provide more evidence to confirm what Republicans have long alleged — that the Obama administration was involved in the partisan targeting of Donald Trump. Fox News host Sean Hannity commented on Thursday:

Without any question or ambiguity at all, these 302s show that the FBI, Fusion GPS, who was working on behalf of the Clinton campaign, she was paying for it, Christopher Steele, the Obama State Department, the Obama DOJ, all of them working together to dig up dirt on all things Donald Trump before and after the election.

Ohr, Fusion GPS, Steele, Clinton
Ohr worked to distribute anti-Trump material that was contained within the “Steele Dossier” — a body of salacious and unverified allegations that former British spy Christopher Steele had purportedly compiled from unknown Russian sources.

While Steele asserted that the Trump campaign had colluded with the Russian government to win the election, a two-year investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller produced no evidence that any such collusion occurred.

Steele had compiled the dossier at the behest of the research firm Fusion GPS, which had itself been contracted by the Clinton campaign to gather dirt on then-candidate Donald Trump. Ohr’s wife Nellie was employed by the company, a fact that he failed to disclose and which lead to his removal in 2017. He was later reassigned and given a raise.

Ohr also said Steele was “desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being the U.S. President.” Steele’s work was ultimately used by the FBI in obtaining warrants to spy on Trump campaign, although FISA courts were never informed of its dubious origins.

“Unprecedented and irregular effort”
The documents were obtained by the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch via a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton put out a statement upon their release.

“These new Bruce Ohr FBI 302s show an unprecedented and irregular effort by the FBI, DOJ, and State Department to dig up dirt on President Trump using the conflicted Bruce Ohr, his wife, and the Clinton/DNC spies at Fusion GPS,” Fitton stated.

“The FISA courts weren’t informed of this corrupted process when they were asked to approve and reapprove extraordinary spy warrants targeting President Trump,” he added.

Top Obama admin officials implicated
This isn’t the only dubious behavior on Ohr’s part; he admitted in his Congressional testimony to have met and communicated with disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok. Strzok and his lover, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, exchanged numerous anti-Trump text messages, including one in which Strzok promised to “stop” Trump from becoming president.

This information further confirms that top Obama officials used unethical and illegal means to target the Trump campaign. How far up the wrongdoing went remains to be seen.

Was Barack Obama’s deal with Iran the worst political deal of the 21st century? One can certainly argue that it was. It certainly makes the Top 5 list. There is no question that President Obama viewed what he was doing as a transformation. His goal was to shift the balance of power in the Middle East in order to weaken Israel and bring a more balanced approach as to how the United States viewed the Israeli – Arab conflict.

Appeasement as a Strategy
In truth, President Obama was outwitted by the Iranian Mullahs. They understood well that all they needed to do was to buy time in order to complete their nuclear building plans. As long as they had another 5-10 years of quiet, they would be able to reach the critical point they strived for. That was the point of nuclear blackmail. Iran understands well that nobody wants a nuclear war, and nobody wants to be the one to destroy a nuclear reactor. But Iran was willing to threaten the world in ways that no other country was willing to because of their willingness to play the game of brinkmanship.

Irresponsibility is a very strong part of negotiation in the Middle East. That strengthens the hand against responsible leaders who cannot take the chance of being accused that they are leading their country into a dangerous battle with a powerful enemy. President Trump understands how to make deals. Even his most strident foes understand that this is perhaps his best strength. He looked at the Iranian deal and could not find anything positive that the United States got out of the deal. He only saw an upside for the Iranian side.

But that is the nature of the appeasers. They kick the can down the road and hope that somehow, things will just sort of work themselves out. That is foolhardy at best, but usually much worse than that. It was the Iranian plan that led to the description of Obama as the modern-day Neville Chamberlain who appeased Germany before World War II. That description has unfortunately proven to be accurate.

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is acknowledging its transfer of $1.7 billion to Iran earlier this year was made entirely in cash, using non-U.S. currency, as Republican critics of the transaction continued to denounce the payments.

Treasury Department spokeswoman Dawn Selak said in a statement late Tuesday that the cash payments were necessary because of the “effectiveness of U.S. and international sanctions,” which isolated Iran from the international finance system.

The $1.7 billion was the settlement of a decades-old arbitration claim between the U.S. and Iran. An initial $400 million of euros, Swiss francs and other foreign currency was delivered on pallets Jan. 17, the same day Tehran agreed to release four American prisoners.

The Obama administration had claimed the events were separate, but recently acknowledged the cash was used as leverage until the Americans were allowed to leave Iran. The remaining $1.3 billion represented estimated interest on the Iranian cash the U.S. had held since the 1970s. The administration had previously declined to say if the interest was delivered to Iran in physical cash, as with the principal, or via a more regular banking mechanism.

Earlier Tuesday, officials from the State, Justice and Treasury departments held a closed-door briefing for congressional staff on the payments, according to a Capitol Hill aide familiar with the session. The officials said the $1.3 billion was paid in cash on Jan. 22 and Feb. 5. The aide was not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity.

The money came from a little-known fund administered by the Treasury Department for settling litigation claims. The so-called Judgment Fund is taxpayer money Congress has permanently approved in the event it’s needed, allowing the president to bypass direct congressional approval to make a settlement. The U.S. previously paid out $278 million in Iran-related claims by using the fund in 1991.

Republicans have decried the payments as ransom, a charge the Obama administration has rejected. On Tuesday, a group of Republican senators announced their support for legislation that would bar payments from the Judgment Fund to Iran until Tehran pays the nearly $55.6 billion that U.S. courts have judged that it owes to American victims of Iranian terrorism.

“President Obama’s disastrous nuclear deal with Iran was sweetened with an illicit ransom payment and billions of dollars for the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism,” said Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., the bill’s primary sponsor.

Rep. Ed Royce, R-Calif., the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, also introduced a bill that prohibits cash payments to Iran and demands transparency on future settlements.

“All of this was done in secret, hidden from the American people and from Congress,” Royce said of the cash payments to Iran.

Both the House and Senate are planning to hold hearings on the payments.

(Tea Party 247) – The Democrats have a real problem with corruption and the mainstream media is happy to play along and assist when necessary. The leaders of the Left have made it a habit to just destroy evidence that could prove they aren’t the innocent, pro-American politicians their voter base thinks they are. Clinton deleted over 30,000 emails and still has yet to be held accountable and now it appears Obama destroyed tens of thousands of record from the National Archives.

You won’t find this story being reported by the likes of “news” networks like CNN or MSNBC. Blatant corruption going unreported. We should be used to it by now.

In a report last year, by the Western Journal:

“Lipscomb wrote that “the accumulation of recent congressional testimony has made it clear that the Obama administration itself engaged in the wholesale destruction and ‘loss’ of tens of thousands of government records covered under the act as well as the intentional evasion of the government records recording system by engaging in private email exchanges.”

…”In 2014 President Obama signed the Presidential and Federal Records Act Amendments. For the first time electronic government records were placed under the 1950 Federal Records Act. The new law also included updates clarifying “the responsibilities of federal government officials when using non-government email systems” and empowering “the National Archives to safeguard original and classified records from unauthorized removal.” Additionally, it gives the Archivist of the United States the final authority in determining just what is a government record.”

So in other words, Obama signed an amendment to an existing law that protects federal records to include electronic records. Now it seems as though Obama himself has been “deleting” records just like his good friend Hillary Clinton. The law dictates that the Archivist of the United States gets to determine what is a government record but apparently Obama decided to take the liberty of deciding himself.

It is very interesting, in light of this information, when we look back and recall Obama saying that his administration didn’t have any embarrassing scandals.

“Former President Barack Obama, speaking off-the-record, talked about the drama-free nature of his White House and said it was a “low bar” now to avoid embarrassing presidential scandals..” (Reason, Feb.27, 2018)

Could that be because the evidence of any scandals was destroyed? How is the media not in a frenzy over this? If Trump had destroyed a fraction of what Obama did he would have been hung up and left to dry by the media, Congress would be holding special hearings, the FBI would be indicting him, and Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters would be foaming at the mouth as they pursued impeachment.

Yet Obama gets radio silence. Nothing from the media at all. What obvious double standards.

According to a report by RealClearPolitics,

“Clearly, America’s National Archives is facing the first major challenge to its historic role in preserving the records of the United States. What good is the National Archives administering a presidential library, like the planned Obama library in Chicago, if it is missing critical records of interest to scholars? And what’s to prevent evasion of the entire federal records system by subsequent administrations to suit current politics rather than serve scholars for centuries to come?

Isn’t that the crux of the issue? The Dems are so desperate to change history they will do anything. They change history to suit their narratives and policy goals and now they are attempting to delete history because it implicates them in all manner of corruption.

What more is it going to take for people to wake up and see just how corrupt the Left really is?

A bombshell report from the Daily Beast reveals that former Obama administration officials are quietly advising Iran on how to respond to the Trump administration.

Three former Obama officials admitted that they are talking with Iranian government officials, and have also spoken with Democrats in Congress about the Iran situation.

U.S.-Iran tensions
In recent weeks, tensions rose between the United States and Iran. May 28th marked the one-year anniversary since President Trump withdrew from the Iran Nuclear Deal, the “horrible” accomplishment of former President Barack Obama.

Unlike his predecessor, Trump has taken a hardline stance with Iran, telling its leaders that “they cannot have nuclear weapons.” Accustomed to the more conciliatory approach of Obama, a furious Iran responded with the threats of stockpiling enriched uranium and of further violations.

Trump responded by sending 1,500 troops to the Middle East as a cautionary measure.

But now, some Republicans fear that Trump’s strategy to contain a dangerous Iran might be being undermined.

Obama officials still in talks with Iran
Three Obama administration officials are said to have been holding “normal” conversations with members of the Iranian government. These individuals additionally recently briefed Democrats in Congress about how to handle the Iran situation.

According to the Daily Beast, at least one official’s message to Iran was: “Don’t take Trump’s bait. Stay calm.” Other officials “are trying to keep the roots of the Iran nuclear deal alive by taking the pulse of lawmakers on Capitol Hill to gauge whether they are in favor of restarting talks in the future.”

Undermining U.S. stance toward Iran
As one Republican aide told the Daily Beast, this is concerning — particularly if they are taking a position different from that of the Trump administration.

“It’s not just about what they were saying to the Iranians,” said the aide. “It’s about what they were saying to their political allies back here in the U.S. Their strategy was to divide and isolate the Trump administration just as the Trump administration was trying to re-establish deterrence with Iran. In the current highly partisan political environment, the only safe course is to signal national unity — and they contributed to eroding that at home and abroad.”

“This would explain how they all ended up echoing the same talking points about Bolton and warmongering at the same time. Obama administration officials have been shuttling between the Hill and Iranian officials to help make sure everybody is on the same page,” a Republican staffer told the Washington Examiner.

Breaking the rules
You would think that there would be a rule against a former government official talking to members of a foreign government — and there is.

The Logan Act, passed in 1799, makes illegal the diplomatic talks of private citizens with a foreign government without authorization. The problem, however, is that it is rarely asserted, and no one has ever been found to have violated it.

Nonetheless, if former Obama officials really are undermining Trump’s efforts, something needs to be done. Obama’s administration has already caused enough trouble in Iran.
