Five Terror Arrests In Dover And London
Every day I post a number of these stories, and I can’t get to them all. Muslims in Western countries arrested on terror-related offenses, “relating to Syria.”
“Commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism in Dover and east London.” It’s not a criminal act, it’s an act of war.

Police make a series of arrests and search addresses across London after stopping a vehicle at Dover as it tried to leave the UK.
Five men have been arrested on suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism in Dover and east London.
The arrests came after armed police officers stopped a vehicle at Dover port as it attempted to leave the UK.

Two men, aged 33 and 43, were arrested in Dover at 11.30pm on Sunday night by Scotland Yard anti-terror officers with support from Kent Police, while a 28-year-old man was arrested at the same port on Monday morning.
Under the same operation, two men aged 24 and 40, were arrested in east London.
All five are being held on suspicion of involvement in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
They were all taken to a central London police station where they remain in custody, while four addresses in east London and one in south London are being searched as part of the investigation.
A statement from Scotland Yard added: “This operation is not in response to any immediate threat.”
A 37-year-old man was also arrested in Dover on suspicion of people trafficking offences, while 12 men and one woman who were stopped in the same vehicle were arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.

The Islamization of the UK Continues - A Warning to America

A British convert to Islam who calls himself Abu Rumaysah recently told a television interviewer: "I can't love my mum because she is not Muslim."
Abu Rumaysah is another devout Muslim "misunderstanding" Islam in the exact same way as millions of other Muslims. Islam before family, country, or "I." Islam trumps all. Devout family members kill their children or spouses if their Islamic honor is impugned. Abu Rumaysah is the face of today's Britain.
While Islamic hate preachers spew their genocidal poison across the United Kingdom, British Home Secretary Theresa May and other British authorities have banned the voices of freedom that oppose jihad, like Robert Spencer and me. Is it any surprise, then, that British Muslims would be flocking to the Islamic State?
Last week, British Muslim MP Khalid Mahmood said that as many as 2,000 Muslims from Britain have gone to Syria and Iraq to join the Islamic State – that is, four times more than British officials have previously admitted.
Interesting, isn't it, how the number jumps wildly day by day? Does anyone really believe that keeping the truth from people is going to save them? When did that ever work? When did denial ever work? It is said that the Islamic State has an army of 200,000. Where do people think these Muslim fighters are coming from?
The U.K. can continue to placate their hostile Muslim population by banning voices of freedom, but appeasement signals weakness. And it is only a matter of time before British Muslims are fighting for an Islamic State in the United Kingdom itself, not just in Iraq, Syria, and the Levant.
British authorities are also in complete denial about why so many young Muslims are joining the Islamic State from Britain. How did this misunderstanding of Islam become so widespread? Why are so many more Muslims from Britain and the United States than ever joined al-Qaida joining the Islamic State?
Nothing is being done to stop jihad recruiting in U.S. and European mosques, even as thousands of Muslims from the U.S. and Europe have gone to wage jihad for the Islamic State.
Meanwhile, another Muslim child sex trafficking gang has been busted. The British press couldn't refer to these Muslims as "Asian" because they are from Somalia. So now we have a "Somali gang" in Britain behaving in exactly the same way as did all the "Asian gangs." Different continent but same ideology. This is not about race, borders, or geography. The country of origin is as relevant as the color of their socks.
As my colleagues and I have been explaining for years, sex slavery is a religious right in Islam. Kidnapping and enslaving girls as sex slaves is sanctioned by the Quran in multiple places.
This is all according to Islamic law (Shariah). The Quran says: "Prosperous are the believers who in their prayers are humble and from idle talk turn away and at almsgiving are active and guard their private parts save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy" (23:1-6). Those whom their "right hands own" (Quran 4:3, 4:24, 33:50) are slaves – specifically, sex slaves. A manual of Islamic law says: "When a child or a woman is taken captive, they become slaves by the fact of capture, and the woman's previous marriage is immediately annulled" ("Reliance of the Traveller," o9.13). Her marriage is annulled so that she can be forcibly married or given as a slave to a jihadi warrior.
Despite such savage laws, based on the Quran, Lord Harries of Pentregarth, former bishop of Oxford, and a leading Church of England thinker, said that when Prince Charles becomes king, the Quran should be read at his coronation. And it took almost nine months for the U.K.'s Law Society to back away from its vicious ruling to advance the Shariah, the most brutal and extreme system of legal governance on the face of the earth. Back in March, I reported on the Law Society's incomprehensible and astonishing move toward complete capitulation: its adoption of Shariah law. It was reported at the time: "Islamic law is to be effectively enshrined in the British legal system for the first time under guidelines for solicitors on drawing up 'Sharia compliant' wills. Under ground-breaking guidance, produced by The Law Society, High Street solicitors will be able to write Islamic wills that deny women an equal share of inheritances and exclude unbelievers altogether."
Now, the Law Society has had second thoughts. A bit of sense from the now notoriously senseless British. But will it be enough to stop Britain's galloping Islamization? Probably not.

The threat has been taken so seriously it came close to leading to an outright ban on all hand luggage, a senior insider has revealed.
Mobile phones and electronic devices could still be banned from plane cabins, with the threat of a 9/11-style coordinated attack on London and other major cities feared imminent.
The warning comes as Whitehall officials admit that a terror strike on the UK is now “almost inevitable” particularly with British jihadis returning from fighting alongside the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
An airport security source told the Sunday Express: “We’ve been told that five planes are being targeted in a high profile hit before Christmas. They’ve been waiting for the big one.
“We have many scares but this one nearly got hand baggage pulled from all airlines. The threat is still alive and real.”
The plot, which has been known about for the past two months, is thought to involve Islamists smuggling bombs on to planes bound for major European destinations before Christmas.
The well-placed security insider said talks had been held about how to deal with it, with suggestions made to ban hand luggage.

Although now dead his work remains a huge threat as his skill set is likely to have been spread among a number of terror apprentices, including an unidentified Saudi-born bombmaker.

“The most likely scenario is a plane heading towards a major European capital.
“There is likely to have been dry runs already with terrorists testing airport security.”
Dr. Leivesley, a former Home Office risk adviser, said that terrorists are now more likely to be “white, blond and blue eyed” who are radicalized in as little as five weeks.
She also claimed that female terrorists were becoming a significant risk, adding: “Crime profiling shows that white, middle class women, who are better than averagely educated, are susceptible to the terrorist narrative.
“They see themselves at the forefront of attempts to change the world and are represent a very dangerous tool for the terrorists.
“These sleepers will have been from ordinary and not very religious families and not only is the threat from them here but also when they return battle hardened from Syria and Iraq.”

In a speech earlier this week, Home Secretary Theresa May warned that numerous Islamic militants were looking to attack the UK.
She said: “Now the threat is more diverse in terms of the number of groups out there who will be looking to carry out attacks in the West.
“It’s also more diverse in that not everybody’s affiliated to a particular group – some are self-starting groups and you do have individuals, perhaps the “lone wolves” or the volatile individuals.
‘We have to look across the board at all sorts of threats that are out there.”
Scotland Yard would not comment on the claims.
A spokeswoman for the Department for Transport, which looks after air security, said she could not comment on the specific allegations.
But she added: “We keep airport security under constant review.”

The Law Society has withdrawn controversial guidelines for solicitors on how to compile “Sharia compliant” wills amid complaints that they encouraged discrimination against women and non-Muslims.
Andrew Caplen, president of the society, apologised and said the criticism had been taken on board.
It follows a storm of protest after The Telegraph disclosed in March that the society had issued a practice note to solicitors effectively enshrining aspects of Islamic law in the British legal system.
The guidelines advised High Street solicitors on how to write Islamic wills in a way that would be recognised by courts in England and Wales.

Mr Caplen’s predecessor as president, Nicholas Fluck, strongly resisted criticism of the guidelines when details were published in March.
But in a short statement the society said it now had decided to withdraw them in light of “feedback” from the public and lawyers themselves.
“Our practice note was intended to support members to better serve their clients as far as is allowed by the law of England and Wales,” said Mr Caplen.
“We reviewed the note in the light of criticism.
“We have withdrawn the note and we are sorry.”
Keith Porteous Wood, executive director of the National Secular Society, who campaigned for the guidelines to be withdrawn, said: “This is an important reverse for what had seemed to be the relentless march of sharia to becoming de facto British law.
“Until now, politicians and the legal establishment either encouraged this process or spinelessly recoiled from acknowledging what was happening.
“I congratulate the Law Society for heeding the objections we and others made.
“This is particularly good news for women who fare so badly under sharia law, which is non-democratically determined, non-human rights compliant and discriminatory code.”Sadikur Rahman, a leading member of the Lawyers’ Secular Society, who was among the first to raise concerns about the practice note, praised the Law Society as a rare example of a major organisation publicly changing its mind.
“The language that they have chosen to use today is quite astonishing for an organisation that only a few months ago was resistant to change at all,” he said.
He added that it was a vindication for those who were accused of racism or being anti-Muslim for questioning the wisdom of original practice note.
“You should be able to criticise an ideology, that should not be taken as racism,” he said.
He added: “As far as the public is concerned the Law Society represents all lawyers in England and Wales.
“The practice notes might just be guidance but they tell us how our firms should practise, if you didn’t follow the guidance issued by the Law Society on a particular point you might be deemed to negligent.
“They carry a huge amount of weight and it would be seen as an endorsement.
“I certainly heard from Muslim lawyers congratulating the Law Society for having issued it, the way they saw it was that the Law Society had come on board with sharia law.” -

The Quran stipulates that a man may take four wives as well as hold slave girls as sex slaves. These women are captured in wartime and are considered the spoils of war. Islam avoids the appearance of impropriety, declaring that the taking of these sex slaves does not constitute adultery if the women are already married, for their marriages are ended at the moment of their capture. A judge questioned the wisdom of social workers placing a vulnerable teenage girl alone in a flat and almost unsupervised in inner city Bristol – leading to her being raped and prostituted by Somali drug dealers.
Judge Michael Roach spoke out at the end of a two-month trial after hearing how the 16-year-old girl was living alone in the flat off Stapleton Road in Easton with just two hours of supervision a day from care workers.
The girl – whose life was in “chaos” – had been placed there in January last year by social workers from a local authority outside of Bristol.
She had fallen in with the Somali men having gone to buy cannabis from them and it was not long before they were using her flat to sell drugs and also regularly having sex with her, sometimes for money.
Following a two-month trial at Bristol Crown Court this summer six men were convicted of a range of sex and drugs offences.
They were Liban Abdi “Left Back”, Mustapha Farah “Greens”, Arafat Osman “Left Eye”, Idleh Osman “Sniper”, Abdulahi Aden “Trigger” and Mustafa Deria.
Two other men, Said Zakaria “Target” and Mohamed Jama “Magic”, were convicted of drugs charges. A ninth defendant, Gama Mohamed “G” was acquitted of sex charges.
Jailing the men, Judge Roach said: “The offences centre upon the serious sexual abuse or exploitation of a child against the background of drug dealing in the Easton area of Bristol.
“I know that the drug trade in Bristol blights many parts of the city. It ruins the lives of many, not just the users but also their families and their dependants.
“It has been said many times before – and it is true – it is a filthy trade.
“The child who was the subject of the exploitation or abuse was 16 when she came from outside the city to live in the Easton area.
“She was a very troubled girl. The decision was taken to place her in a flat on her own. Save for limited supervision she was left to her own devices without the support of her family and friends.
“She didn’t know Bristol or the city at all. On the evidence she was very isolated. Consequently within a day or two of her arrival she fell prey to these defendants and their associates.
“They took considerable advantage of her.
“I hope there will be an opportunity for the authorities to reconsider their thinking behind such a placement because it has, on any retrospective view, added considerably to the damage of that young person.”
Judge Roach added: “Girls of her age – whatever their experience – need the protection of the law. The treatment of her in my judgement was extremely serious.
The girl’s five-month ordeal ended when police went to the flat on the night of May 17 last year looking for a 14-year-old runaway.
The teenager, known only as Girl B for legal reasons, had gone to the flat because she was the sister of the tenant, identified as Girl A.
When police found Girl B, who was living in a children’s home, she was hiding in a cupboard under the sink in the kitchen, in just her underwear.
“She was very upset, in tears, with her makeup running down her face. Girl B said to the police ‘they made me do stuff’,” prosecutor Anna Vigars said.
“One of the women police officers went to speak to her and she said that one of the men had forced himself on her, he had raped her.”
She was returned to the care of social services and three days later, Girl B spoke to the police about being raped in the bathroom by Trigger.
He was arrested and told police: “Nobody ain’t touched that little girl.” He later said he thought she was 17 and their sexual contact was consensual.
Another teenager, known only as Girl C, was a friend of Girl B and also spent time at the flat. She alleged she had also been raped at the flat by Gama Mohamed.
A fourth girl – Girl D – did not wish to speak to the police and did not know any of the other victims. But Trigger admitted possessing indecent images of children after police found naked photographs of 16-year-old Girl D on his phone.
After police smashed the sex ring, Girl A described to detectives one occasion where she had sex with a man who later refused to pay.
“Sometimes I’d just be like I couldn’t even be bothered to fight or argue for it because it’s hard to tell them at the end of the day ‘No I don’t want to do it’ but half the time I did, because it was obviously just being close to someone,” she told officers.
“Half the time I didn’t really want it for the money, I just wanted someone to be there, do you know what I mean? Even though I know they were using me for sex and that, sometimes it’s just nice to be close to someone, do you know what I mean?”
The Bristol case comes after allegations, convictions and resignations over organised child abuse and exploitation across English towns and cities including Rotherham, Rochdale, Oxford and Telford.

A decorated army veteran renowned for rescuing youths from Islamic State today warned that the terrorist group is placing ‘sleeper cells’ in European countries including the UK.
Dimitri Bontinck, who is known as the ‘Jihadi Hunter’, spoke out as he prepared to support his own teenage son in a criminal trial after bringing him home from Syria.
It came as Home Secretary Theresa May and senior British police chiefs also said that a terrorist atrocity involving an ISIS-style beheading or bomb attack on civilians is now ‘almost inevitable’.
Referring to their campaign of atrocities carried out abroad, Mr Bontinck, 41, told MailOnline: ‘It’s not the kids who are the principal danger – it’s the chiefs whom you never see in the videos.
‘The mature men running this organisation are deeply sinister, and extremely well-funded, and they have European countries such as Britain, France and Belgium in their sights.’
He added: ‘Their aim is to take revenge against the west for what they view as an all-out assault on them, and they will strike when they are ready.
‘I’ve been told by very influential sources that they have sleeper cells over here, and are preparing to unleash their war in Europe.’
Mr Bontinck, a Belgian national who is based in Antwerp, has completed seven missions to Syria to help rescue his son, 19-year-old Jejoen, along with other youths in the same position.
The special forces trained negotiator insists that Jejoen is innocent of any wrongdoing, and that the authorities should not be ‘stigmatising and criminalising youngsters who fall in with the wrong crowd’.
Jejoen was raised as a Catholic, attending a Jesuit school in Antwerp, but converted to Islam at 15 after going out with a local Muslim girl.
He became radicalised under the influence of the now-banned Sharia4Belgium group and then travelled to the Syrian civil war zone after flying to Turkey….

The response to this assassination attempt will be to reassure their misinformed populations that this has nothing to do with Islam. The UK refuses to recognize or probe why so many British Muslims are flocking to wage jihad in the cause of Islam. Worse, they make more suicidal concessions to this genocidal ideology, hoping to satiate the beast.

The day before yesterday, UK Prime Minister David Cameron said he hopes to see a British Muslim become prime minister in his lifetime. Speaking at the GG2 awards, which celebrates Asian [Muslim] achievements, he added that there were “too few people from ethnic minorities in top positions.” Culture Secretary Sajid Javid was named the most influential Muslim in the UK.

Note to David Cameron: rest assured, at the rate the UK is going, your wish will absolutely come true.

Four young Islamic terrorists planned to assassinate Queen Elizabeth by stabbing her at the Royal British Legion Festival, a military party held in Royal Albert Hall. The event is scheduled on Saturday, Nov 8.

The Sun reports that the four extremists, aged 19 to 27, were arrested by British police on Thursday night. Besides a knife, the police found in their possession firearms. They were arrested on suspicions of committing, preparing or instigating acts of terrorism, according to the Metropolitan police.

Authorities informed the 88-year-old Queen about the assassination plot, but despite the threat to her life, she and Prime Minister David Cameron would still attend to her royal duties this weekend such as wreath-laying rites at the Sunday Remembrance celebration to mark the end of World War I in 1918.

Besides the Queen, other members of the British royal family would attend the events as well as political and military leaders. The event’s finale would be a two-minute silence while poppy petals fall from the roof to represent Britons who died in World War I.

The remembrance poppy has been used since 1921 to commemorate soldiers who have died in war. Inspired by the World War I poem “In Flanders Fields”, they were first used by the American Legion to commemorate American soldiers who died in that war (1914–1918). They were then adopted by military veterans’ groups in parts of the former British Empire: the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Today, they are mainly used in the UK and Canada to commemorate their servicemen and women who have been killed in all conflicts since 1914. There, small artificial poppies are often worn on clothing for a few weeks until Remembrance Day/Armistice Day (11 November). Poppy wreaths are also often laid at war memorials.

The 15-year-old boy was waiting at a bus stop at 6pm yesterday in Manchester city centre when a man approached him with an aerosol can and lighter and sprayed him with lit fumes.

The cadet, who was wearing his camouflaged uniform, suffered minor burns to his face and singed hairs on his face and right forearm, Greater Manchester Police said.

The offender, described as black or Asian, 5ft 8in tall and wearing a dark hooded top, walked off from the bus stop by the Manchester Gallery opposite George Street without saying a word.

Detective Inspector Liam Boden said: ‘This is an absolutely appalling attack on a young man who was raising money to help remember all those who gave their lives fighting bravely for their country.

‘At this stage of our inquiries, we’re keeping an open minded as to what motivated the offender to commit such an act.
‘Given the initial description we have of the offender, it may be that he was under the influence of something but whatever his motivation, his violent actions could have scarred this young man for life.

‘Although he has suffered some minor injuries, it is pure luck that he did not sustain more serious burns to his face and body.’

Court of Appeal says Christian worker has no discrimination protection

The Court of Appeal has ruled today that Christian Legal Centre client, Nohad Halawi (pictured), effectively has no employment protection rights in relation to her losing her job at Heathrow airport, after spurious 'anti-Islam' complaints were made against her.
In the judgment, Lady Justice Arden said ‘I too have an uneasy feeling that the complex arrangements have the effect that the Appellant has no remedy for discrimination…’
The case raises vital issues about whether employers can effectively sidestep important employment protections (including non-discrimination and religious freedom regulations) through the use of complex contract arrangements. It also highlights a potential clash between UK and EU understandings of 'employment'. The case could have implications for thousands of workers in the UK who use employee controlled companies.

'Defending a Christian colleague'
Mrs Halawi had worked in a duty-free shop at Heathrow's Terminal 3 for 13 years. She defended a Christian colleague who was mocked by Muslim colleagues for wearing a cross. She also spoke with management about the way that some Muslim workers spoke disparagingly about Jesus and was additionally concerned about comments made against Jews and Christians.
A complaint was then made against her, based on a misheard conversation and spurious rumours that Nohad had behaved in an 'anti-Islam' manner.
In response, the management company withdrew Mrs Halawi's airside security pass, thereby disqualifying her from any further work at the duty free shop and ending her livelihood.
The case raises important issues about the disparity of treatment of Christian and Muslim workers. Nohad says her substantive complaints were effectively ignored by World Duty Free but that the company acted immediately to end her livelihood when unsubstantiated complaints were made against her. She believes that she lost her role because she spoke up for the freedom of Christians and dared to stand against inappropriate conduct by a group of Muslim employees.
22 of Mrs Halawi's colleagues, some of them Muslims, signed a petition which stated: “We are shocked and saddened by the recent dismissal of our colleague and friend, Nohad, as a result of malicious and unfounded allegations made against her” but the decision was not reversed - leaving Nohad unable to work.

Christian group warns ‘British values’ rules imposed after Trojan Horse scandal leading to schools with a religious ethos being marked down by inspectors for failing to promote ‘tolerance’

A successful Christian school has been warned it is to be downgraded by inspectors and could even face closure after failing to invite a leader from another religion, such as an imam, to lead assemblies, it is claimed.
The small independent school in the Home Counties was told it is in breach of new rules intended to promote “British values” such as individual liberty and tolerance in the wake of the Trojan Horse scandal, involving infiltration by hard-line Muslim groups in Birmingham.
Details of the case are disclosed in a letter to the Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, from the Christian Institute, which is providing legal support to the school.
The group warned that the new rules intended to combat extremism are already having “disturbing consequences” for religious schools and forcing Ofsted inspectors to act in a way which undermines their ethos.
It follows complaints from orthodox Jewish schools about recent inspections in which girls from strict traditional backgrounds were allegedly asked whether they were being taught enough about lesbianism, whether they had boyfriends and if they knew where babies came from.
In the latest case inspectors are understood to have warned the head that the school, which was previously rated as “good” that it would be downgraded to “adequate” for failing to meet standards requiring it to “actively promote” harmony between different faiths because it had failed to bring in representatives from other religions.
They warned that unless the school could demonstrate how it was going to meet the new requirements there would be a further full inspection which could ultimately lead to it being closed.
A Government consultation paper published in June, explaining the new rules, makes clear that even taking children on trips to different places of worship would not be enough to be judged compliant.
The Institute, which is already planning a legal challenge to the consultation, arguing that it was rushed through during the school holidays, fears that the new guidelines could be used to clamp down on the teaching of anything deemed politically incorrect on issues such as marriage.
“Worryingly, evidence is already emerging of how the new regulations are requiring Ofsted inspection teams to behave in ways which do not respect the religious ethos of faith schools,” Simon Calvert, deputy director of the Christian Institute, told Mrs Morgan.
“The new requirements are infringing the rights of children, parents, teachers and schools to hold and practise their religious beliefs.”
Listing recent cases involving criticism of Anglican, Roman Catholic and Jewish schools by Ofsted, he added: “The Christian Institute is currently working with an independent Christian School which has been marked down by Ofsted for not promoting other faiths.
“Astonishingly it was told it should invite representatives of other faith groups to lead assemblies and lessons, such as an Imam.
“The wording of the regulations inevitably results in these kind of outcomes.
“While we obviously support attempts to address the problem of radicalisation, the current regulations fail to do this.”
A spokeswoman for Ofsted said: “Under Ofsted’s revised guidance for the inspection of schools, inspectors now pay greater attention to ensuring that schools provide a broad and balanced education for their pupils, so that young people are well prepared for the next stage in their education, or for employment and for life in modern Britain.
“Inspectors will consider the effectiveness of the school’s provision for pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and how the school’s leadership and management ensure that the curriculum actively promotes British values.
“This includes, among other factors, pupils’ acceptance and engagement of different faiths and beliefs, and their understanding and appreciation of the range of different cultures within school and further afield.”

'Remarkable courage': Crime-fighting Jews draw praise for protecting Muslims in London neighbourhood

The unusual sight of crime-fighting Orthodox Jews pounding the streets of a tough London neighbourhood after dark has captured the attention of grateful locals, but their ongoing protection of local Muslims has seen their profile go global.
The work of the 25-strong "Shomrim" even caught the eye of US Secretary of State John Kerry, who praised the neighbourhood patrol group's "remarkable courage".
Members of the Haredi Jewish community in Stamford Hill formed the group - named after the Yiddish word for guards - in 2008 in response to high crime levels.
Police initially feared vigilantism but now cooperate closely with the volunteers, who helped in 197 arrests last year and even apprehending the area's "most wanted burglar".
It is Shomrim's role in helping protect the area's large Muslim population, however, that has secured its place in the community and garnered international praise.
The group was called upon by local councillors in Hackney, north London, following the murder of soldier Lee Rigby by Islamic extremists in the British capital in 2013.
"There was a spike in anti-Muslim hate crime. All over England, mosques were being firebombed," explained Shulem Stern, a young man sporting the "payot" haircurls and "kippah" skullcap associated with the Haredi faith.
"The councillors thought: 'We've got Shomrim in the local area, who don't we utilise them'?"

They continue to protect local mosques as Muslim communities across Britain are back in the spotlight following the rise of the Islamic State organisation in Syria and Iraq.
"In many ways they're a really well organised neighbourhood watch," explained police Superintendent Andy Walker. "They are very much the eyes and ears of the police."
From his car parked outside a warehouse owned by one of the group, Shomrim volunteer Chaim Hochhauser shows off the stab vests provided by police, highlighting the everyday danger faced every day by these unlikely crime fighters.
Shomrim also receive regular advice sessions from local officers, and use their new knowledge to help to defend the main local mosque.
"Their doors are open all the time, so anyone who wants can walk and do what they want, chuck in a firebomb," explained Hochhauser.
The arrangement was lauded by Kerry when he launched the annual US report on International Religious Freedom in July.
"Their courage goes unremarked, but that makes it all the more remarkable. Believe me, that's the definition of courage," the top US diplomat said.
However, Stern insisted there was nothing remarkable about their work.
"The local Muslims and local Jewish people do so much business together. In religious aspects as well there are loads of similarities," he said.
"Also, because we're visible and suffered a long history of hate crime, we're very alert to anything unusual."
"The (Haredi) community is not known for being too inclusive, but where necessary they will help the wider community," said Michael Desmond, the leader of the local council who recently hosted an event honouring the group.
"We are both sons of Abraham after all," added Ian Sharer, an Orthodox Jewish councillor.
Local Muslim councillor Dawood Akhoon, who worked with Sharer to bring the two communities together, said the Muslim response had been "really good and positive".
"It's part and parcel of each of our faiths, we have to take care of our environment and out neighbours," he told AFP.
Ties between the two communities came under renewed scrutiny in July, when anger at Israel's operation in Gaza led to a spike in anti-Semitic incidents across Britain.
But Shomrim insist that any problems, such as the recent appearance of swastikas graffitied on local walls, originate from outside the area.
"I want to make this clear, none of the suspects that we've dealt with have been local Muslims," said Stern.
Councillor Sharer added: "To the incredible credit of the Muslim community, there has not been one incident in this area. That's down to one word: respect."

General warns of Taliban-Islamic State threat
Battle-hardened Taliban fighters could join forces with Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq and Syria, a former head of the armed forces has warned.
General Lord Richards of Herstmonceux said air strikes alone would not be enough to defeat IS as the RAF announced the latest action by Tornado jets in Iraq.
He said "many thousands" of Western troops would be needed to train ground forces to take on and defeat IS in Iraq and Syria.
And he warned against shifting the focus away from Afghanistan, where there was a danger that the Taliban could form links with IS in support of their goal of establishing a caliphate.
In the latest British military engagement, two RAF Tornado jets used Paveway guided bombs to attack IS forces who were firing on Iraqi troops from a building near Ramadi.
The planes, operating out of Akrotiri, Cyprus, resumed sorties in support of local ground forces in Iraq after a pause in respect of the Muslim holiday of Eid.
But in a sign that allied air strikes had not deterred them from seeking further territory, IS militants have targeted the Syrian town of Kobani, close to the border with Turkey.
Kurdish forces claimed to have repelled an offensive by IS yesterday, but reports suggested that a fresh assault had been launched by the militants and their black flag has been raised above a building in the town.
Lord Richards told BBC Radio 4's The World At One that the battle against IS could not be won from the air, and warned that it could be too late to intervene to protect Kobani.
He said air strikes can "write down or reduce the combat effectiveness of an enemy" but "they learn how to respond to that, they become cleverer in their tactics".
He continued: "Ultimately you have to seize and hold ground yourself to deny them the ability to operate.
"Only an army, or armies, can do that."
Asked whether Kobani would fall, he said: "The thing is, if that's going to happen, it's going to happen. It's too late now to inject well-trained armies, whether local or indeed whether they are reinforced by Western troops.
"So one has to stand back and take a more strategic view and look at how you are going to actually confront Isis over many months, if not years."
He said the Western allies, including US president Barack Obama and Prime Minister David Cameron, had the "bare bones of a perfectly good strategy", training local ground forces such as the Iraqi army and Kurdish Peshmerga to combat IS.
But he added: "What I am a little bit concerned about is the scale of the challenge is not being met by the scale of the response required."
To defeat IS, Lord Richards said: "Many thousands of Western and other allied troops will need to be involved in the process of raising and training and ultimately mentoring them as they go into battle."
Lord Richards insisted that the rise of IS - also known as Isil or Isis - in the Middle East should not be seen as a separate issue to Afghanistan.
He said it is "important that Afghanistan is seen as part of the solution to the so-called Islamic caliphate, and Isis".
The former chief of the defence staff said: "We have heard very hard-line Taliban talk about the prospects of joining the caliphate while others are talking peace, so this is not a united organisation and it never has been."
The prospect of Taliban extremists joining up with IS was a "risk that we have to be well aware of" and political leaders needed to understand the threat.
"My worry is that those leaders don't understand the scale of the response required, a key part of which is that we continue to look after, as necessary, and train and mentor the Afghan armed forces," he said.
Lord Richards compared the militant threat to a balloon, where "you press one bit and it rises in another".
"We need to continue to keep the pressure on these groups wherever they may come up and Afghanistan, after all we have done and been through, has got to be one of those places," he said.
"My take is that we could do a little bit more in Afghanistan than I think we are planning to do."
The US has taken part in air strikes against IS positions in Syria, but the British military effort has so far been confined to Iraq.
Leaders of the Kurdish resistance in Kobani have warned that air power was having a limited impact on the IS advances.
Idris Nassan, a senior spokesman for Kurdish fighters, told the Guardian: "Air strikes alone are really not enough to defeat IS in Kobani.
"They are besieging the city on three sides, and fighter jets simply cannot hit each and every Isis fighter on the ground."
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg signalled he would be prepared to support British air strikes in Syria if the situation on the ground becomes less "chaotic".
But he told ITV's Good Morning Britain: "Additional air strikes in Syria will only have limited effect unless we can make sure that the forces we're supporting in Syria really can make progress on the ground."

Disillusioned British jihadists stuck in Turkey because they are too scared to come back to UK
As many as 100 British jihadists are believed to be stranded in Turkey because they are too scared to return to the UK after leaving Islamic State militants.
Many of the disillusioned fighters are seeking to travel to countries such as Pakistan and Bangladesh where their parents have roots because they fear imprisonment if they come back to Britain.
The jihadists are seeking an exit strategy from Syrian cities including Aleppo and Raqqa after becoming frustrated that they were fighting rival rebel factions as opposed to forces loyal to the country's President, Bashar Al-Assad, the Sunday Times reported.
A Whitehall official told the newspaper: “We understand there’s around 100 British jihadists who are waiting in limbo in Turkey before they can make their way to countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh and Algeria — countries where their parents were born and where they have the family support they need to settle in.
“The choices for these jihadists have become very limited — they don’t want to return to Syria because they would most likely be killed for defecting and they can’t come back to Britain without the prospect of being locked up.”
Around 500 Brits are believed to have travelled to Syria to fight for the brutal Islamic State terror group, the government estimates.
IS militants have been responsible for the brutal murders of two British citizens, Alan Henning and David Haines, prompting Briton to join air strikes against them in Iraq.
Professor Peter Neumann who works at King’s College London's International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence has previously suggested British jihadists fighting in Syria want to return to the UK.
He said: "The people we have been talking to … want to quit but feel trapped because all the Government is talking about is locking them up for 30 years."
Rami Abdelrahman, director of the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told The Sunday Times his organisation knew of at least 40 British jihadists in Turkey.

The Mayor of London told the Daily Telegraph people in the capital were concerned about the national terror threat level, raised more than a month ago from substantial to severe, meaning a terrorist attack was "highly likely".
It comes as police chiefs also issued a warning to officers to increase vigilance in the face of a heightened terror threat for officers and five men were being held by Scotland Yard suspected of plotting a potentially "significant" attack on the UK.
"In London we're very, very vigilant and very, very concerned. Every day - as you saw recently, we had to raise the threat level - every day the security services are involved in thousands of operations," Mr Johnson told the paper.
"There are probably in the low thousands of people that we are monitoring in London."
And he added that a large proportion of 500 Britons thought to be fighting alongside Islamic State in Syria were believed to be from the capital.
"Probably of the five or six hundred that are out there we think a third, maybe more - maybe half - come from the London area. If an when they come back, we have a real job to deal with them," he said.
Meanwhile, in an interview with the same paper, Iain Lobban, director of intelligence agency GCHQ, hinted it now took three times longer to trace terrorists online in the wake of disclosures made by former National Security Agency (NSA) contractor Edward Snowden.
And he said sharing intelligence with a greater number of nations was necessary.
"It's nonsense not to share with the French. This is not Blitz Britain. We sure as hell can't lick terrorism on our own," he said

ANJEM CHOUDARY: I DON'T FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE BEHEADED
'If they arrest me and put me in prison,' Choudary has said, 'I will carry on in prison. I will radicalize everyone in prison.
The British Islamist imam Anjem Choudary has been released from police custody after he was arrested for allegedly being a member of a banned terrorist group.
Choudary and nine other radical Muslims were detained during dawn raids in London on September 25 as part of an ongoing Metropolitan Police investigation into Islamist-related terrorism.
Choudary—one of the most high-profile jihadists in the United Kingdom, and well known for his relentless resolve to implement Islamic Sharia law there—is a former spokesman of the Muslim extremist group, al-Muhajiroun (Arabic: The Emigrants).
Al-Muhajiroun—which repeatedly celebrated the terrorist attacks on the United States in September 2001—was banned under the 'UK Terrorism Act 2000', in January 2010.
Since then, al-Muhajiroun has repeatedly reinvented itself under an array of successor aliases. These include, among others: Islam4UK, Call to Submission, Islamic Path, Islamic Dawa Association, London School of Sharia, Muslims Against Crusades and Need4Khalifah, all of which have also been banned.
A study published by the London-based Henry Jackson Society in September 2014 found that one in five terrorists convicted in Britain over more than a decade have had links to al-Muhajiroun.
An investigative report published by the British anti-fascist group Hope Not Hate in November 2013 concluded that al-Muhajiroun was "the single biggest gateway to terrorism in recent British history."
Al-Muhajiroun—founded by Choudary and the exiled preacher, Omar Bakri Mohammed—is said to have also played a major role in radicalizing Michael Adebolajo, who was found guilty of murdering (and attempting to decapitate) the British soldier Lee Rigby outside London's Woolwich Barracks in May 2013.
Choudary said Rigby would "burn in hellfire" as a non-Muslim, and also praised Adebolajo as a "martyr." He said:
"Allah said very clearly in the Koran 'Don't feel sorry for the non-Muslims.'
"So as an adult non-Muslim, whether he is part of the Army or not part of the Army, if he dies in a state of disbelief then he is going to go to the hellfire.
"That's what I believe so I'm not going to feel sorry for non-Muslims.
"We invite them to embrace the message of Islam. If they don't, then obviously if they die like that they're going to the hellfires."
According to police, over the past several months, groups believed to be successors to al-Muhajiroun have been circulating material highly sympathetic to the jihadist group Islamic State [IS], which has declared that it wants to establish a global Islamic theocracy, and has threatened to attack targets in Europe and North America.
British police said the nine men, aged between 22 and 51, were arrested on suspicion of being members of a proscribed organization and supporting a proscribed organization, contrary to Section 11 and 12 of the Terrorism Act 2000, and of encouraging terrorism, contrary to Section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
After a day of questioning, Choudary and eight others were released on bail on September 26. The men have been ordered to return to police stations in central London in January. In the meantime, police say they will continue their investigation.
A close friend of Choudary, Trevor Brookes (aka Abu Izzadeen), remains in custody after being charged with breaching his obligations under the Counter-Terrorism Act 2008, for allegedly failing to notify police that he had moved to a new address.
Choudary—whose bail-restrictions include a ban on foreign travel and public preaching—said his arrest was a "politically motivated" effort by the government to silence him on the eve of a Parliamentary vote on military intervention in Iraq.
On September 26, the House of Commons voted 524 to 43 to approve a request by British Prime Minister David Cameron to join the American-led coalition against the jihadist group Islamic State, albeit only in Iraq and not in Syria.
Speaking to the Guardian newspaper minutes after he was released, Choudary said:
"I think that David Cameron has plunged Britain into a very bloody war, which will manifest itself on the streets of London. We saw it before with 7/7 [July 7, 2005 bombings in London], 9/11 [Sept 11, 2001 attacks in the U.S.], it's inevitable, if they are going to attack Muslims abroad.
"I'm not involved in any terrorism. I have and will continue to expose the British government for their foreign policy. I fight ideas with ideas."
Until now, Choudary, a lawyer by training, has managed to tread the fine legal line between the inflammatory rhetoric of Islamic supremacism and the right to free speech. He has never been convicted of any offense, presumably much to the frustration of British authorities.
Nor has Choudary expressed a fear of being imprisoned. "If they arrest me and put me in prison," he has said, "I will carry on in prison. I will radicalize everyone in prison."
Police say that Choudary has become far more brazen since the Islamic State proclaimed the establishment of an Islamic caliphate in Iraq and Syria in June 2014. Since then, they say, he has repeatedly crossed the legal threshold for criminal prosecution for encouraging terrorism, such as recently justifying the beheading of the American journalist, James Foley.
In an interview with the Washington, D.C.-based Clarion Project, Choudary said that the beheading of Foley by IS operatives is authorized under Sharia law because as a journalist, Foley attacked the IS. Choudary said:
"Muslims who abide by the Sharia and follow the jurisprudence do not make a distinction between civilians and army. This fellow [Foley] was not just a civilian of America. He was a journalist."
Separately, Choudary has insisted that he does not know the knifeman who decapitated Foley. "I'd recognize his voice if it was someone I knew," he said. But he refused to condemn the execution:
"There are circumstances in Sharia where there is capital punishment for crimes that have been committed. Now I do not know anything about these journalists, why they were there, whether they were spying or in fact part of the military. Often it turns out that people have other roles as well."
Choudary is, however, adamant that the United States is responsible for the murder of Foley:
"If you look at the death of James Foley, you only have to listen to the person who is executing him to know that the blame is the Americans' because of their own foreign policy. The fact is that decades of torture, cruelty and mass murder will have repercussions."
Choudary also said he feels no sympathy for another British hostage, Alan Henning, a volunteer aid worker who was subsequently beheaded by the IS. Choudary said:
"In the Quran it is not allowed for you to feel sorry for non-Muslims. I don't feel sorry for him."
In an August interview with the UK-based Fubar Radio, Choudary admitted that pro-IS protesters in London were his students.
Radio host Jon Gaunt asked Choudary: "Are these students of yours... the ones handing out the leaflets?" Choudary responded: "Yes... I have known them for several years, they have attended many demonstrations... many lectures of mine. Very good chaps."
And in a Tweet sent hours before his arrest, Choudary condemned U.S. air strikes against the IS:
"The Islamic State could not wish for a better rallying call for Muslims worldwide to join them than for the USA to start bombing again."
Another Tweet stated:
"FACT: The war being waged by the US/UK & co is a war against Islam & Muslims. The objective is to take Muslims away from the Shari'ah (Islam)."
Yet another Tweet said:
"Eventually the whole world will be governed by Shari'ah & Muslims will have authority over China Russia USA etc This is the promise of Allah."
In September 2014, Choudary said that IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is "the caliph of all Muslims and the prince of the believers."
Choudary has also been insistent in his demands that Sharia law be enforced in the UK.
In December 2013, for instance, Choudary led a group of more than 60 Muslim protesters on a march through east London to demand that businesses stop selling alcohol:
"What we did is we posted a notice to the shop owners saying that under Sharia and under the Koran the sale of alcohol is prohibited and if one were to also drink alcohol, that would be 40 lashes.
"We were there to teach them that just because they are living among non-Muslims is no excuse because Sharia law will be implemented in Britain, and so they should be aware that just because it is not Sharia today, they can't just do whatever they like.
"There will be no more pubs, no more gambling houses, no more national lottery.
"All women would have to be covered up appropriately and wear the niqab or veil and so there will be no prostitution. By 2050, Britain will be a majority Muslim country.
"It will be the end of freedom of democracy and submission to God. We don't believe in democracy, as soon as they have authority, Muslims should implement Sharia. This is what we're trying to teach people."
Choudary said the group, known as the Shariah Project (which police say is a successor to al-Muhajiroun), would be arranging many more similar rallies in the future. "This is just the beginning," he promised.
Choudary, who is married and has four children, enjoys a comfortable lifestyle that is being paid for, year after year, by British taxpayers. In 2010, the newspaper The Sun reported that he takes home more than £25,000 ($40,000) a year in welfare benefits.
In February 2013, Choudary urged his followers to quit their jobs and claim unemployment benefits so that they could have more time to plot holy war against non-Muslims. He said Muslims are entitled to welfare payments because they are a form of jizya, a tax imposed on non-Muslims in countries run by Muslims, and a reminder that non-Muslims are permanently inferior and subservient to Muslims.
In a video, Choudary said:
"We [Muslims] take the Jizya, which is ours anyway. The normal situation is to take money from the kuffar [non-Muslim]. They give us the money. You work, give us the money, Allahu Akhbar. We take the money."
Choudary added: "Hopefully there's no one from the DSS [Department of Social Security] listening to this."

Who are the 'extremists'?
This party conference season our political class looks very unconvincing.

The attack and erosion of the Christian framework in the life of our nation in recent years has created value disintegration.

Since Blair's era, successive governments have tried to fill the void created with more and more legislation. As a lawyer I see the devastating impact of this and the unintended consequences.

In order to outlaw 'extremism' you have to be able to define the moral framework by which you live; our modern day politicians are unable to do this. They are the products of a relativist, secular, individualistic regime that has forgotten the Christian roots that once undergirded our nation.
It is impossible to have any set of values in a vacuum.

Theresa May proposes banning orders and extremist disruption orders for activities that clear a very low legal threshold. In the world of Boris, Theresa and David we have to ask what would constitute an 'extremist' group? Is it the nurses who want to be free to offer prayer or wear a cross at work? (This government submitted legal argument against such nurses at the Strasbourg Court in 2012). Or is it Counsellors such as Mike Davidson who believes that you can reduce unwanted same-sex attraction? Boris lied and covered his back in order to shut down Mike's viewpoint on the London transport system.

Theresa May, like all politicos since 2001, wants to stop the Islamic hard line agenda but fails to understand it.

She lists activities that would justify being labelled an extremist: “spreading, inciting, promoting or justifying hatred on the grounds of disability, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation and/or transgender identity, proposing to overthrow democracy, members of the public, or a section of it, will be harmed”.

This is already with us but it isn't Muslims who are labelled extremist, being prosecuted or disciplined at work. Ways are usually found to accommodate them. It is the Christians.
The issue for us is that this legislation, unchecked, will see Christian organisations labelled as extremist.
Christian Concern has already been banned from the Government-run QEII Conference Centre for seeking to hold a Colloquium entitled 'One Man. One Woman. Making the case for marriage for the good of society'. Apparently our organisation was 'inappropriate' for a government venue; apparently we breached the Government's equality and diversity codes, even before same-sex marriages was passed into law!

We have been told by Government lawyers subsequently (in an attempt to bolster its case) that Christian Concern represents a threat to public order and that we cause harassment, alarm and distress. When required, post Theresa’s Bill, this will easily be re-defined as ‘inciting hatred’.

Pro life groups and street preachers are now regularly arrested because the police say their message causes harassment, alarm and distress. Just this week a sister organisation was denied public liability insurance because its activities were considered too controversial!

Theresa May will deny that her proposals are designed to silence people like us. But they do. They already have. She says that "the strategy will aim to undermine and eliminate extremism in all its forms: not just Islamic extremism but neo-Nazism and other forms of extremism too".

The Christian illiteracy of our political class with its wholesale adoption of the secular, liberal agenda fails properly to understand or critique Islam and lives in fear of offending it.

The result? Christians who believe in natural marriage and the humanity of the pre-born child and Jesus Christ as Son of the One, True, God are the easy targets; the 'extremists'.
Christians who believe in the moral imperative of the Bible as good for all, beware. Pray for our leaders and lobby them.

Conservative Party announces plans to redefine UK's relationship with European Court of Human Rights
The Conservative Party has announced its proposals to scrap the Human Rights Act 1998, and end the ability of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to order changes to British laws.
Justice Secretary, Chris Grayling, said if the Conservatives win the election, a new Bill of Rights will be introduced to “restore sovereignty to Westminster" by giving UK courts and Parliament the "final say" on whether judgments from Strasbourg are adopted.
Under the plans, to be included in the Conservative Party's general elections manifesto, Britain’s courts will no longer be required to take rulings from the ECHR into account, with its judgments being treated as "advisory" rather than binding.
It is claimed the changes will enable a future Tory Government to limit human rights to only the “most serious cases”, deport more “terrorists and serious foreign criminals” and defy policies such as the ECHR’s requirement that some prisoners be given a vote.
Andrea Williams of Christian Concern said: "This a very worrying development. Our national courts have seriously let down the Christian community and do not have a track record of recognising and respecting Christian faith. The European Court of Human Rights has shown a better understanding of Christian belief and a greater commitment to protecting Christian freedoms than we have seen in the UK courts in recent years.
"The European Court's judgment in the cases of Shirley Chaplin, Gary McFarlane and others have already had a positive effect in the UK in tackling the crippling approach to Christian freedoms adopted by our domestic courts over the past decade.
"The track record of the ECHR is mixed and reform is probably needed but without its recent decisions, Christians, as well as many others, would effectively enjoy fewer protections than they do today."

Maverick Bishop’s book criticised for peddling the gay agenda
A book by the Bishop of Buckingham, Alan Wilson, which urges the Church of England to support same-sex 'marriage' and relationships, has been criticised for its departure from clear biblical teaching on human relations.

Alan Wilson rejects the idea that the Bible forbids gay marriage and he claims that one in ten bishops could be secretly gay.
His claims have been described as “no surprise” by the Executive Secretary of Anglican Mainstream, Rev Andrew Symes, who says “the maverick Bishop's views have been well aired previously in the media including his recent support for “the cause of legalisation of assisted suicide”.

Andrew Symes asks, if Alan Wilson dismisses the “clear evidence of scripture about marriage and sex” to claim same-sex relationships are blessed by God, then what reason does he give for other boundaries which the bible sets about sexual conduct such as marriage being an exclusive union between only one man and one woman?

In his book, ‘Perfect Union? Understanding Same Sex Marriage’, published this week, Wilson says the CoE’s official position is only opposed to gay marriage because of “entrenched stereotypes about gay people”.

Andrew Symes responds: “Were all the great Christian minds down the ages stupid or bigoted and only in these last days have we seen the light?”

Andrea Williams of Christian Concern says: “Alan Wilson is using his position to make a political point knowing that his position is in direct conflict with the Church of England' teaching on this matter.

"This book is a campaign tool. He is using it to apply pressure to the Church of England establishment to weaken its public stance on marriage.

“The book demonstrates no love or regard for the bible which graciously and compassionately sets out how to order our sexual lives through the life-long commitment of marriage between one man and one woman.”

Poll warns Tories that same-sex ‘marriage’ will cost votes next May
Ahead of this week's annual Conservative Party conference in Birmingham, a BBC Sunday Politics poll reported the damaging pre-election finding that a large majority of Tory councillors believe David Cameron was wrong to legalise same-sex ‘marriage’.
The ComRes poll confirmed the results of last year’s survey commissioned by the Coalition for Marriage which predicted correctly that the Conservatives would lose hundreds of council seats as a result of the Prime Minister’s determination to force the legislation through. The May local elections resulted in a loss for 300 seats for the Conservatives.
The latest poll found that 60% of Tory councillors believe the redefinition of marriage will make the party less electable.
Commenting on the poll, the former Conservative Shadow Home Secretary, David Davis, wrote in the Daily Mail that the party has “abandoned traditional Conservative principles” and has focused on “fringe issues” such as same-sex ‘marriage’.
Andrea Williams of Christian Concern said: “Our governing class has shown no regard for democracy. David Cameron has pushed the sexual rights agenda in the mistaken view that it will create a better world. But same-sex ‘marriage’ and the whole ‘sexual experiment’ has had disastrous results, producing an avalanche of divorces, families without fathers, unwanted pregnancies, abortions, sexually transmitted infections and infertility.
“The ‘sexual revolution’ has not brought about social progress. It has produced the very opposite – a regression to widespread family breakdown, relationship failures, degrading of women, the stolen innocence of childhood, addiction to pornography and a burgeoning sex trade. And yet David Cameron, Boris Johnson and many of the political elite cling to the false and dangerous belief that ‘sexual liberation’ is wanted by most people and that anyone who opposes it is a bigot.”
Andrea warns that same-sex 'marriage' will continue the slide with an increase in same-sex parenting which means children are denied the right to be raised by either a mother or a father and she adds:
“We will see homosexuality being promoted more and more in schools adding to confusion for children who will be encouraged to experiment, resulting in a range of negative outcomes.”

Homosexual clergy row threatens to halt Lambeth Conference

The 2018 Lambeth Conference, a ten yearly gathering of more than 600 Anglican bishops, has reportedly been cancelled for the first time in it’s history, due to divisions over homosexual clergy.

It is believed the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby fears provoking more rows, following the last meeting in 2008 when African bishops boycotted the conference due to openly gay members attending.

“[The Archbishop] has been very clear that he is not going to call a Lambeth [Conference] until he is reasonably certain that the vast majority of bishops would attend,” explained the head of the Episcopal Church in the US Reverend Katharine Jeffers Schori.

She added: “As he continues his visits around the communion to those primates it’s unlikely that he will call such a meeting at all until at least a year from now or probably 18 months from now. Therefore I think we are looking at 2019, more likely 2020, before a Lambeth Conference.”

Anglican Mainstream’s Andrew Symes said: “My understanding is that no decision has been made about the next Lambeth, but clearly Archbishop Justin would want such a gathering to a) have a clear purpose b) have the support of the majority of Bishops of the Anglican Communion, and especially a good representation from the Global South, and c) be affordable.

“The Archbishop is working hard to bring this about with his marathon schedule of personal visits around the Provinces. But I think that as long as headlines about the Church of England indicate a continuing liberal trajectory, and TEC and the Church of Canada continue to exert their influence over ‘indaba’ initiatives such as the facilitated conversations, Global South church leaders will see no point in committing resources to attending another Lambeth conference when the issues that caused such division.”

Street preacher to be prosecuted for comparing the lives of Jesus and Mohammed

Street evangelist, Mike Overd, a client of the Christian Legal Centre, is being prosecuted for an alleged religious aggravation public order offence.

The charges follow a complaint to police in Taunton, that Mike made a comparison between the perfect life of Jesus and the life of Mohammed.
Police have informed the former Paratrooper that the Crown Prosecution Service wishes to bring three charges against him under Section 5 of the Public Order Act.

A Taunton police Sergeant recently gave an interview to BBC television and a newspaper locally, urging residents to film the evangelist’s preaching as it was alleged that Mike's preaching was 'causing offence.'
The officer has also asked local traders to film Mike if they believed Mike was preaching 'offensively'.
Mike insists that when he made a comparison between the perfect life of Jesus and the life led by Mohammed, he did not speak in a hateful way.

“It was a simple comparison and it was factual. Mohammed did marry a nine-year-old girl. I have no hatred of Muslims in me at all and only preach the truth of the gospel. Recently a Muslim man came to my defence when I was preaching and a local shopkeeper started to shout at me. The Muslim gentleman didn’t take offence because he said he knew I was simply preaching what I believed and agreed there was no hatred in me. I’ve got this incident on video and I also have video evidence of the incidents which have led to this forthcoming prosecution.”

Mike has been told his case will come to court before the end of this year.

He is being represented by Christian Legal Centre lawyer, Michael Phillips.
Nicky Morgan: Government to focus on tackling 'homophobic' bullying

The Equalities Minister and Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, who marked her new Cabinet post by appointing a prominent LGBT campaigner as her special adviser, has announced the Government's intention to focus on tackling 'homophobic' bullying in schools over the coming months.
Speaking at the Conservative Party Conference this week, she said: "In the next few months we’ll do more on this, tackling one of the most pernicious kinds of victimisation – homophobic bullying. It is too widespread in Britain’s schools. “It’s not acceptable. It’s intolerable, and we will stamp it out.”
Nicky Morgan, who voted against same-sex ‘marriage’ and is a member of the Conservative Christian Fellowship, appointed Luke Tryl, the former Head of Education at homosexual lobby group Stonewall to be a special adviser to her on education and equality issues.
The moved followed heavy criticism of her by gay activists in light of her vocal support for marriage as between one man and one woman.
Andrea Williams of Christian Concern says: "The minister is playing into the hands of the gay lobby whose agenda is to persuade us that there is a special category of so-called 'homophobic' bullying which is worse than any other form of bullying in schools. All intimidation in schools is wrong and should be tackled. Nicky Morgan is part of a government with a very poor record in upholding the freedom of Christians to speak about Jesus Christ in the public space, particularly in the areas of marriage and sexual ethics. Highlighting a special category of 'homophobic' bullying creates a trojan horse for promoting the normalisation of sexual activity outside marriage between a man and a woman."

Alan Craig, leader of the GayMarriageNoThanks campaign, will tell a massive pro-family demonstration in Paris on Sunday, that same-sex 'marriage' has caused a dangerous and anti-democratic shut-down on freedom of conscience and speech in the UK.
“We allow conscientious objectors even in time of war but teachers and marriage registrars – even van drivers - can lose their jobs in the UK if they express traditional or religious views about the marriage and sexual relationships,” he will say.

Alan Craig, the only British speaker at the mass rally, will also condemn as ‘child trafficking’ the growth of commercial surrogacy.
“All children have an inalienable human right to their birth mother and father,” he will say.
The demonstration in Paris on Sunday is being organised by La Manif Pour Tous, the growing French pro-family group that organised massive rallies against same-sex 'marriage' across France last year.

The British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS), the largest UK abortion provider, is planning to open a clinic at a GP surgery in Southwark.
Ruth Rawlins from the Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform UK said: “It is a contradiction that a doctor’s surgery which exists to promote good help and help save lives is providing a facility to end human life on it’s premises.”

PM Makes Last Visit To Afghan Combat Troops

David Cameron has visited British combat troops in Afghanistan for the last time.
He flew to their Helmand base after meeting the country's new President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul.
Addressing the troops at Camp Bastion, the Prime Minister warned them that the fight against Islamist extremism will continue for many years.
He said: "I am afraid the work that you are doing here will go on in other parts of the world, maybe not in the same way, maybe not with troops on the ground.
"But the fact is that when we see the appalling extent of Islamist terrorism in terms of al Qaeda that disease is still present in so many parts of the world.
"I am afraid to say that this struggle against Islamist extremist terrorism, this is the struggle of our generation."
Camp Bastion, until only very recently a fortress of occupation in the south of Afghanistan, is now a skeleton base and the last remaining British base in the country.
At the peak of the conflict, the UK had 137 bases in the country and 9,500 troops.

Only a few thousand remain and they will leave the country in the next few weeks.
The Prime Minister flew into the country overnight after making a surprise pit-stop in Cyprus to thank British troops who have carried out airstrikes on Islamic State extremists in Iraq.
His motorcade arrived at the presidential palace early on Friday ahead of meetings with President Ashraf Ghani - who was sworn into office four days ago after months of political turmoil.
At a joint news conference with Mr Ghani in the Afghan capital, Mr Cameron said Britain had "paid a heavy price" to secure stability and would always be a "strong partner and a good friend" to Afghanistan.
But he said there was no prospect of the UK going back to fight in Afghanistan.

"We are not going to send combat troops back to Afghanistan, because we have trained up an effective Afghan army and Afghan police force," he said.
Earlier, Mr Cameron announced two more RAF Tornado bombers would be joining the mission against IS in Iraq.
Mr Ghani thanked the families of the 453 British servicemen and women who have died while serving in Afghanistan.
He said: "They stood shoulder-to-shoulder with us, and we will remember them."
The trip comes days after Afghanistan's new president signed vital security agreements allowing foreign troops to remain in the country beyond the end of this year to train and mentor Afghan counterparts.

Mr Cameron held bilateral meetings with both President Ghani and his opponent in the elections, Abdullah Abdullah, who has been appointed chief executive in an power-sharing agreement that is hoped will bring peace to Afghanistan.
The Taliban has described it as a "US orchestrated sham".
But the Prime Minister warned the militants: "If the Taliban want to secure a role in the future of Afghanistan then they must accept that they have to give up violence and engage in the political process."
President Ghani came to power at a risky moment for Afghanistan as foreign combat troops prepare to pull out at the end of the year.
Afghan forces will be responsible for their own security after 13 years of foreign occupation.

International Security Assistance Force troops will remain in an advisory and mentoring role only while the British will operate the Officer Training Academy outside Kabul, nicknamed Sandhurst-in-the-Sand.

David Cameron has flown to the RAF base in Akrotiri, Cyprus, from which British pilots are launching air strikes against Islamic State (Isis) targets in Iraq, announcing that he was to send a further two Tornado GR4 planes to supplement the six currently operating.
The prime minister also disclosed that, as the Guardian revealed on Thursday, the RAF 2 squadron based in Cyprus is to operate for longer than April next year, the date they were due to be replaced. The decision represents a minor triumph for the air force, which has been arguing about the importance of air power in conflicts in the Middle East.
Tornados brought into service in 1991 during the first Gulf war are due to be disbanded by 2019 in a staged process, but some squadrons due to be taken out of service earlier are now to be reprieved.
A new class of Eurofighter Typhoon is to replace the current fleet, but the new class is not yet able to load Brimstone missiles effective against small- and medium-sized targets such as Isis vehicles.
Britain is believed to be considering whether to help train the moderate Syrian opposition, a plan proposed by former chief of defence staff Lord Richards before he retired last year but previously rejected by ministers.
Strengthening Syrian forces allied to the moderate opposition, as well as Iraqi troops, is seen as a vital step towards defeating Isis, and to this end the government is planning to send British troops to train the Iraqi army. It is unclear whether they will be trained in Iraq or neighbouring countries such as Jordan, or the Gulf states.
A small number of British military personnel are already on the ground in northern Iraq supporting Kurdish peshmerga.
Cameron’s decision to fly to the airbase suggests he believes the campaign is not likely to end soon. He said he had come to Cyprus to thank the pilots personally for the dangerous work they were undertaking, and went on: “Less than a week into combat operations in Iraq, I wanted to come here to thank our troops for the vital work they’re doing to defeat these barbaric Isil terrorists who threaten security not just in Iraq, Syria and the region, but on the streets of Britain too.”
The air strikes by US and UK aircraft are understood to have forced a change of behaviour in Isis fighters, who now have much less freedom of movement. However, intelligence gathering on Isis has shown they are extremely well-organised, with their own shura – or councils of elders – regional governors, and welfare networks.
Britain currently has seven combat capable air squadrons compared with the 15 the French air force has. The RAF had 30 combat squadrons at the time of the first Gulf war, and for years has been protesting its contribution to military conflicts in uncontested air space is invaluable.
The ageing Tornados – some older than 30 years – have flown as many as 30 surveillance operations over Iraq since mid-August, but were only given political clearance to launch air strikes against Isis forces, mainly in northern Iraq, after MPs voted a week ago for the use of force so long as it does not extend to Syria.
The RAF has so far launched strikes on four sorties against Isis assets such as pickup trucks, normally on the advice of Kurdish forces on the ground. The planes may be old, but they are equipped with modern radar and infra-red sights capable of giving highly detailed information on targets.
Government sources said the dispatch of the extra Tornados did not signify an increase in the tempo of attacks, but was a move to build the overall resilience of the strike force now that it is clear that the air campaign may be a long one. The prime minister added: “Obviously, these operations are just one element of our strategy. We are also working hard to deliver a training package for Iraqi forces with advisers in Iraq now to assess their needs.”
The RAF has argued that the precision of the Brimstone missile is unique as it is capable of hitting a car moving at 70mph from seven miles away.
RAF Akrotiri is the UK’s Permanent Joint Operating Base that supports ongoing operations in Afghanistan and has been in service 30 years, used as a forward mounting base for overseas operations in the Middle East and for modern radar infrared sights jet training.
Cameron has visited Akrotiri before during RAF operations to enforce a no-fly zone in Libya three years ago. As many as 20 Tornados were operating during the Libya campaign where the US took a more backward role and focussed on air surveillance.
Britain and Saudi Arabia are the only two countries that operate Brimstones, that are thought to cost £100,000 each.
RAF 2 Squadron is normally based at RAF Marham, Norfolk. It has 12 crews based there.

Hostage John Cantlie's Father Pleads With IS
Paul Cantlie tells Sky News he cannot think of a "greater joy than seeing my dear son released and allowed to return home to us".
The father of a Briton being held by Islamic State militants has tried to contact the group in an appeal for the freedom of his son, who he describes as a "good man".
Speaking from his hospital bed after a throat operation, Paul Cantlie said he could not think of a "greater joy than seeing my dear son released and allowed to return home to us".
"My family and I are trying to communicate with the Islamic State to deliver an important message regarding John and can only hope that it has been received as we have had no response," he said.
"To those holding John: please know that he is a good man, he sought only to help the Syrian people and I ask you from all that is sacred, to help us and allow him to return home safely to those he loves and who love him."
Footage of the journalist, dressed in orange and sitting behind a desk as he spoke to the camera, was released by his captors last month.
In the video - the first of a series - he said he wanted "to convey some facts" which "if you contemplate might help preserving lives".
Mr Cantlie said the Western media "tries to drag the public back ... to another war" with IS.
His father, who suffers from cancer of the larynx, said the video released by IS was the first time in almost two years the family had seen him.
"As a family we experienced great relief seeing and hearing John and knowing that he is alive. This was followed by the feeling of despair and helplessness," he said.
The 43-year-old was seized in northern Syria in 2012, where he had been working as an independent photojournalist.
His father said he was "seeking out the true story of the suffering of the Syrian people and ensuring the world was made aware of their plight".
"John felt a strong need to help in the best way that he could: as an impartial and respected journalist he knew that he could make a difference by acting as a platform for the world to listen to and take notice, using his journalistic skills for the good of the people; as a friend and as a civilian," he said.
"I have had many messages saying they cannot conceive what we, his family and all those who love him, must be feeling.
"Speaking entirely for myself, this is not how I had imagined I would be passing my 81st year.
"I want John to know how very proud I am of him. I can think of no greater joy than seeing my dear son released and allowed to return home to us."
The insurgent group, which controls large parts of Syria and Iraq, has previously killed three western hostages - Briton David Haines and Americans James Foley and Steven Sotloff.
It has also threatened the life of UK aid convoy volunteer Alan Henning.
Meanwhile, a video has emerged purportedly showing a wounded Islamic State fighter with a British accent taunting David Cameron and other coalition leaders to send troops on the ground rather than "bomb us from the skies".
The footage has not been authenticated, and it is not clear when or where it was filmed.
In it, the man, who appears to have an arm injury, said: "You, along with all the other Western governments, have decided to bomb the Islamic State - so if you were real men you would send all your forces on the ground.
"You would not bomb us from the skies, you would send them all on the ground fighting us one by one. But you know in the hearts they're cowards."
He also had a message for the US where he questioned whether America needed other countries to help them in the fight against IS.
He said: "So America, you think you're a superpower when in fact if you were a superpower you wouldn't need these 40 other nations to come and fight us."

ISIS released two videos on Friday, the second of which depicted the beheading of British citizen Alan Henning. In a gruesome but now familiar fashion, Henning knelt in the sand, delivering a few lines of anti-Western rhetoric before being brutally killed. American Peter Edward Kassig was paraded as the next potential victim.

The video was directed squarely at the United Kingdom, featuring British news excerpts, with the black-clad killer name-checking David Cameron in his speech to the camera. The movie seems to have been carefully shot to avoid any giveaways as to location, with a featureless background sloping up to a flat, nondescript horizon.

The other video, also narrated by a British fighter, was entitled “Message of the Mujahideen.” In it, the fighter preaches to the camera, again addressing U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron (referred to as a “despicable swine”) and challenging him and his forces to “fight like men.” The fighter was named as “supermarket jihadi” Omar Hussein from Wycombe in England by British news outlet ITV.

“If you were real men,” he says, “you will [sic] send all your forces down on the ground. You would bomb us from the sky.”

He adds, “You are fighting people who love death more than you love life.”

The video descends into a recruiting screed. The fighter, whose right arm appears to be in a cast to above the elbow, tells would-be recruits, “The caliphate has been established.” He also asks his Muslim brethren what the “land of the kuffar [infidel]” has to offer them. It’s reminiscent of the Monty Python sketch where Reg, from the Judean People’s Front, asks his trainees, “What have the Romans have ever done for us?”

“We have the Islamic State over here. We’re fightin’ jihad. We’ve got ribaat [another word for 'jihad' or the guardianship of Islam],” he says, urging followers to go and read passages of Islamic texts.

“What does the West have to offer you? What does that filthy, despicable country have to offer you? Nothing.” (Well, apart from the sanitation, the medicine, the wine, the public education, etc.)

Propped on the wall beside him is an AK-47, and as the video progresses, he urges those who would travel for jihad but can’t to instead create terror in their homeland.

“In the center of the kuffar and in the center of all that shit, you can cause terror,” he urges.

The language mirrors recent missives from ISIS in which the extremists urge lone wolves to launch attacks in Western countries, targeting both Times Square and employees of Twitter.

UK is at WAR: MPs vote FOR action against 'psychopathic terrorists' of Islamic State
BRITAIN WILL go to war again after politicians today voted overwhelmingly to join airstrikes against the so-called Islamic State terrorist group.
RAF jets could now fly bombing missions over Iraq within hours after all three major parties backed action against the brutal regime, which David Cameron called a "clear" threat to Britain.
The vote comes amid warnings that the action to defeat the Islamic terrorists could take years.
Initially British airstrikes will only take place over Iraq, despite the IS group controlling areas of Syria in its bid to establish an Islamic caliphate across the Middle East.
The vote comes after the Iraqi government requested support in dealing with the militant group.
Action could also extend to Syria, as well as Iraq after Prime Minister David Cameron said today that there is a "strong case" for it.
Mr Cameron said that the murder of British aid worker David Haines by IS showed that the issue was not "on the far side of the world" and the "brutal, terrorist organisation" was a "clear and proven" threat to British people.
He said that the UK has a "duty" to confront the threat to the "streets of Britain".
He told a tense Commons yesterday: "This is about psychopathic terrorists trying to kill us. Whether we like or not, they have already declared war on us. There isn't a walk-on-by option."
He also indicated his support for widening the attacks to targets in Syria at a later stage.
On Monday, the US and a coalition of other nations – including several Arab states – began air strikes on IS targets in both Syria and Iraq.
British military aircraft stationed in Cyprus are now poised to fly out to join operations in the war-torn region.
The RAF Tornado GR4 fighter bombers could be on their way within hours.

Radical preacher Anjem Choudary released on police bail and claims arrest 'politically motivated'

Radical preacher Anjem Choudary, who was arrested as part of an investigation into an extremist group, has been released on bail he said today.
Choudary was one of nine men held across London yesterday while another two were detained just outside of Rugby, Warwickshire.
In a statement the preacher, who is acussed of supporting banned group al-Muhajiroun, said the arrest was “politically motivated”.
He said: “"The last time the government proscribed any organisation linked to me or previous groups I have been linked to was in June 2014.
"They have done nothing since then. They waited until the day before a major vote on a war against Muslims for a high-profile series of arrests."
He tweeted: "I've been released from police custody. Just in time for Cameron to declare war on Islam & Muslims in Iraq & Syria."
Lawyer-turned-preacher Choudary was detained shortly after firing off a series of anti-Western messages at 5am yesterday on Twitter, including claims that the definition of terrorism is "more suitable for the US/UK policy in Muslim lands".
Sweet shop Yummy Yummy, owned by Choudary's brother Yadzani in Whitechapel, east London, was one of 18 properties searched across the capital while another address in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, was also raided.
Earlier this week it was reported that Choudary said he has no sympathy for Alan Henning, a volunteer aid worker who was captured in Syria by Islamic State (IS) militants.

Choudary, who co-founded the now-banned group al-Muhajiroun, is reported to have said: "In the Koran it is not allowed for you to feel sorry for non-Muslims. I don't feel sorry for him."
He has also had contact with a number of worshippers who have later gone on to be convicted of terrorism.
Fanatics Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale, who were both jailed earlier this year for the brutal slaying of Fusilier Lee Rigby, were both seen at demonstrations organised by al-Muhajiroun.
Choudary said he knew Adebolajo, who was pictured beside him at a rally in 2007, and the second founder of the group, Omar Bakri Mohammed, claimed that he had spoken to the future killer at meetings.
Al-Muhajiroun, which has changed names a number of times, was banned in the UK in 2010 and a study suggested that in the preceding 12 years 18 per cent of Islamic extremists convicted of terror offences in the UK had current or former links with it.

Sean Hannity Explodes on Imam: ‘Every Radical Islamist Like You Will Be Wiped Off the Face of the Earth’
Fox News host Sean Hannity got into an explosive debate with Imam Anjem Choudary on Wednesday as the two clashed over the dangers of radical Islam around the world.
Hannity appeared to grow increasingly frustrated as Choudary repeatedly failed to answer simple questions about his Islamic beliefs.
“You have blamed the killing of this photojournalist on America,” Hannity began. “Do you support ISIS demanding that Christians, the Yazidis, ‘convert to Islam or die?’ Do you support that?”
Choudary ignored the question and instead claimed that America “carpet bombed Syria and killed hundreds of thousands” in the past. When Hannity pressed his guest to answer his original question, Choudary said, “every cause has an effect” and continued to talk about reprecussions of American military aggression.

Finally, Choudary claimed that Christians and other religious minorities were not really told to covert to Islam or die.
“It absolutely happened,” Hannity interjected. “Obviously, you need an education. Imam, let me educate you, because obviously you are pretty ignorant.”
He continued: “We have video of children who have been beheaded, like this photojournalist. Women and children with their heads placed on a stick after they’ve been beheaded, and we have one report after another of people who’ve been killed, chased out of their homes.”
Hannity circled back around to his original question, asking the imam if he supports an Islamic caliphate that demands people convert to Islam or die.
Again, Choudary deflected and claimed that the Yazidis went into mountains before the Islamic State started tearing through Iraq. He also argued that Christians are getting ready to return to Mosul, Iraq, because they have now realized that “life under Sharia is much better.”
“You’re not honest,” Hannity replied, later claiming that “every radical Islamist like you will be wiped off the face of the earth.”
“I’m afraid you are living in a dream world. The Sharia will be implemented in America,” Choudary said.
Hannity went on to press the imam on how women who didn’t want to cover up would be punished under Sharia law. Avoiding providing an answer to the actual question, he argued women are not “slabs of meat in Islam.”
“Are you deaf, dumb and ignorant?” Hannity said. “Answer it!”

During a recent interview on the Russia Today program Worlds Apart, London-based imam Anjem Choudary cited the Koran in acknowledging that terrorism is part of the Islamic faith.
Choudary was asked by host Oksana Boyko in regard to the beheading to two American journalists whether Islamists can “hold an individual responsible, for the actions of a collective.”
“You said just recently on CNN that the decapitation of journalist James Foley was, in fact, an attempt by the Islamic State to terrorize their enemy, which in this case is the United States,” she stated. “I wonder whether something like that could be justified under the Sharia law. Can you really hold an individual responsible for the actions of a collective? Is that legal in Islam?”
“Well, as you know, as a lecturer in Sharia law, I would say to the people in Russia, the Muslims and the non-Muslims, that every action for a Muslim must be based upon the Qur’an, the word of Allah, and the teachings of the messenger Mohammed … who is the final messenger for mankind,” he replied.
Choudary then pointed to text from the Koran to note that terrorism is a part of the Islamic religion.
“I would first invite the people to think about and embrace Islam, but those who are already Muslim must know that Allah mentions in the Koran—in fact if you look in chapter 8 verse 60, he said, ‘Prepare as much as you can steeds of war to terrorize the enemy,'” he explained. “So terrorizing the enemy is in fact part of Islam. I mean, this is something that we must embrace and understand as far as jurisprudence of Islam is concerned.”
Choudary, also an attorney who lectures on Sharia law, additionally noted that Muslims do not differentiate between civilians and military troops in their attacks because it is the people who elect their leaders.

“Those very civilians are those who put the people in charge, and those people in charge like Obama and others are sending their troops to Muslim countries,” he said, “let alone people like journalists who are considered to be the right hand of the propaganda machine of the Obama administration.”
Choudary is the former leader of the Islamic group Al-Muhajiroun, which was banned in the United Kingdom. Two of his former members are believed to have been involved in the beheading of a British solider last year, which shocked many as it occurred in broad daylight on a public street in London. Choudary is also a supporter of the September 11th attacks on America, as he has reportedly characterized those behind the attacks as “magnificent martyrs.”
The British imam has appeared on a number of television talk shows in America and abroad, including CNN’s Reliable Sources with Brian Stelter.
“Quite frankly, I think it’s completely pathetic and absurd for you to ask a Muslim to condemn a killing of one individual when hundreds of thousands of Muslims are being slaughtered, of which you don’t know that name,” he said.
During an interview with Fox’s Sean Hannity last month, Choudary also admitted the that goal of Islam is to eventually establish a global Islamic state.
“You don’t have a choice,” he said. “It’s coming to you in America.”

Glasgow 20-year-old Muslim woman, Aqsa Mahmood, is believed to have become radicalized in Scotland and then ran off to marry an Islamic State fighter. Speaking through their lawyer, parents Khalida and Muzaffar Mahmood have said they “feel nothing but sorrow and shame.”
If they taught her to be a “good Muslim,” she is doing just that.
“Her last message was that ‘I will see you on the day of judgment… I will take you to heaven, I will hold your hand.’ That’s what she said. ‘I will become a martyr,’” her father, Muzaffar Mahmood, said.

"The family of a 20-year-old woman from Glasgow who has travelled to Syria and married an Islamic State (IS) fighter have said that she has betrayed them.
Khalida Mahmood and Muzaffar Mahmood said they were horrified to learn their daughter Aqsa had become radicalised.
They spoke after comments attributed to their daughter on Twitter called on people in Britain to repeat terrorist atrocities seen in Woolwich and the US.
Mr and Mrs Mahmood said they loved their daughter and wanted her home.
In a statement, the couple said: "We still love you, Aqsa, but we now have to put your family, your brother and sisters first as you have betrayed us, our community and the people of Scotland when you took this step.
"You have torn the heart out of our family and changed our lives forever. Please come home."
They warned: "If our daughter, who had all the chances and freedom in life, could become a bedroom radical, then it is possible for this to happen to any family."
Privately-educated Aqsa is reported to have encouraged terrorist acts via a Twitter account under the name Umm Layth. The account has since been deleted.
She travelled through Turkey to Aleppo in Syria in November and was reported missing to police.
Before disappearing she attended Craigholme School, then university and was "well integrated into society", her parents said..."

"A young woman from Glasgow has travelled to Syria and has been promoting terrorism back home via her Twitter account, it is understood.
Aqsa Mahmood, 20, was reported missing by her family in November 2013.
A Twitter account under the name Umm Layth, believed to be Ms Mahmood, said: "Follow the examples of your brothers from Woolwich, Texas and Boston.
"If you cannot make it to the battlefield then bring the battlefield to yourself."
The post was made on the Twitter account in June. The account has now been deactivated.
Ms Mahmood's family have described her as a "studious and ambitious girl" and said they "cannot understand why she has travelled to Syria".
She was a pupil at Craigholme School and Shawlands Academy in Glasgow.
In a statement, issued by Police Scotland, her family said: "We had no knowledge of our daughter's plans to leave Scotland and immediately reported her as a missing person to the police..."

Prime Minister David Cameron has said the beheading of a US journalist by an Islamic State militant with an English accent was "shocking and depraved".

James Foley, 40, had been missing since he was seized in Syria in 2012.

Mr Cameron has returned from his holiday to chair emergency meetings on the situation in Iraq and Syria.

Police and Whitehall officials are understood to be trying to identify the man suspected of the killing.

The Metropolitan Police said it was investigating video footage posted online showing Mr Foley being killed.

It warned that "viewing, downloading or disseminating" the video may be an offence under terrorism legislation.

Mr Cameron said on Twitter: "If true, the murder of James Foley is shocking and depraved. I will today chair meetings on the situation in Iraq/Syria."

Number 10 said the prime minister, who had been in Cornwall with his family, would meet senior Home Office and Foreign Office officials.

The White House said it had analysed the video footage and "reached the judgement that this video is authentic".

Earlier Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond told BBC Breakfast the government was aware of "significant numbers" of British nationals involved with extremist organisations overseas.

He acknowledged the suspected killer of Mr Foley spoke with an English accent but said further analysis of the footage was needed.

'Very grave'
"We're absolutely aware that there are significant numbers of British nationals involved in terrible crimes, probably in the commission of atrocities, making jihad with Isil [now known as IS] and other extremist organisations," he said.

"This is something we have been tracking and dealing with for many many months and I don't think this video changes anything.

"It just heightens awareness of a situation which is very grave and which we've been working on for many months."

It is estimated that IS, which has seized large parts of northern Iraq and Syria, has up to 400 recruits from the UK in its ranks.

Some 69 people suspected of Syria-related jihadist activities have now been arrested in the UK.

David Cameron has returned from holiday to chair meetings on Iraq and Syria
Mr Hammond said the involvement of British nationals with extremist groups was one of the reasons that IS "represents such a direct threat" to the UK's security.

He added: "Many of these people may seek at some point to return to the UK and they would then pose a direct threat to our domestic security."

That would be especially likely if IS was "pushed back", leaving its foreign fighters to return to their country of origin, said Mr Hammond.

"We would see these people going back and potentially carrying on their fighting in our own homelands," he added.

'Absolute horror'
In the video, titled A Message to America, Mr Foley is wearing an orange jumpsuit, kneeling in desert-like terrain beside an armed man dressed in black.

The masked militant, who speaks with an English accent and identifies himself as an IS member, says the journalist's death is retaliation for US air attacks against IS targets in Iraq.

The foreign secretary felt "absolute horror" at the "brutal execution", he told BBC Radio 4's Today programme.

Mr Foley's mother Diane said on Facebook she was proud of her son, who had reported extensively across the Middle East, working for America's Global Post and other media outlets including the French news agency AFP.

"He gave his life trying to expose the world to the suffering of the Syrian people," she wrote.

Sunday Times photographer Paul Conroy, who worked alongside Mr Foley in 2011, said: "Without him... these tyrants will get away with things without people probing and pushing to show people what's really happening in these war zones."

Shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper told the BBC the government should be doing more to extend its anti-extremism strategy and accused ministers of watering down control orders for terror suspects.

Frank Gardner, the BBC's security correspondent, said the video could encourage people to join IS.

"It attracts the worst kind of psychopaths," he said. "This is not about religion. It's not even about territory."

Of the beheading, he added: "It is utterly cowardly - killing, in a very sadistic and cruel and graphic way a defenceless civilian, a journalist, because you can't get to your real enemies."

'Vicious' British fighters
Shiraz Maher, from King's College London's International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation, said that British IS recruits were "not there to take a back seat role" and that many were becoming "hardened killers".

He told Today: "Unfortunately the British participation in the conflicts now raging in both Syria and Iraq has been one of full participation, one that has seen them at the front lines, taking part in the conflict in every way.

"So we have seen British fighters out there operating as suicide bombers; we have seen them operating as executioners.

"Unfortunately they are amongst some of the most vicious and vociferous fighters who are out there."

Qari Asim, imam at the Makkah mosque in Leeds, told BBC News the risk of young British Muslims joining the fighting was "getting greater because of our... involvement in Iraq".

He called on the Muslim community to "work with intelligence services and the government and everyone else to make sure that this poison doesn't reach our borders"
