The commonwealth of Israel

Ephesians 2:12,13  That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

When I tell people ‘Jesus as man was the first Israel’, it makes them to wonder as to what I am saying.

Today’s scripture was written by Paul not to the Jews but to the Church having all different races of people, including Jews. Here we see Paul saying they (collectively) were previously aliens to the commonwealth of Israel but now are qualified in Christ to inherit the wealth/promise of Israel.

When one speaks the truth of Israel people accuses the person of ‘replacement’ or ‘substitution’ theory. People do not realize Israel was not a name change for Jacob but a promise to Jacob and those who believe in the Lord of Jacob. When the children of Jacob walked in the ways of the Lord they were called ‘children of Israel’ but when they rebelled or did not abide in Him they were called ‘children of Jacob’; they were never called ‘Israel’ in the first person but always in the second or third person.

Paul who took great pride in being a Jew had previously chosen to use the name Saul (meaning ‘desired’) given by his Jewish mother but later understood Israel and thus changed to the name Paul (meaning ‘small’) given by his Roman father.

The word ‘Israel’ means ‘Prince of God’ or ‘Prince having power/authority in God’ and symbolized ‘Sons of God’. Every Believer in Christ has the promise of the commonwealth of Israel and is in the process to becoming Israel.

Filled with the Holy Spirit

Acts 4:31  And when they had prayed, the place was shaken wherein they were gathered together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

In the NT we find both John the Baptist and Jesus were filled with the Holy Spirit and not only them but even their mothers were. In the case of John his father too was filled with the Holy Spirit.

In the OT and before Pentecost only key people received the Holy Spirit and it was not that they were found to be perfect or were holy in anyway. All of them excluding Jesus made mistakes (sinned) and some of them did grave ones. After Pentecost all who submitted or surrendered to Christ receive the promise of the Holy Spirit and when they claim the promise (submit to Him) they receive Him.

People are told Jesus or the Holy Spirit dwells in their hearts and they point to their organ within them. The Catholics even have images of the ‘Sacred Heart of Jesus’ or ‘Sacred Heart of Mary’ and they worship them, this is the consequence of lack of Bible study.

We need to note even though Elizabeth, Zacharias, John the Baptist, Mary and Jesus were filled with the Holy Spirit yet they were not the same, they did not receive the same of the Spirit and the Holy Spirit was not permanent with all of them. It was only in John and Jesus we find the Holy Spirit continued to dwell and work. Even between the two, both did not receive the same (quantity) of the Holy Spirit, only in Jesus was the Holy Spirit truly full/whole.

The Holy Spirit being Spirit and God (having endless life/life within) means He cannot be restricted to any place or time. Angels who are also spirit beings also move between places almost simultaneously irrespective of distance but cannot move across time (go or see into the future), they being simple spirit/single spirit beings cannot be in multiple places at the same time like the Holy Spirit or God does.

The Holy Spirit being Spirit of the Son can be understood as light that has refracted as it enters into water and become a rainbow (7 Spirits). The whole Church functions on the bases on the 7 Spirits of the Holy Spirit and callings are also connected to Him.

Let us understand when we are baptized in the Holy Spirit we have received just a small portion of Him and need to grow in Him and in all of Him.

Lord You are Almighty God. You alone are Omnipresent and Omnipotent. Time nor place restricts You thus nothing is hidden from You. Lord we pray we understand the relationship between the Father, Son and His Spirit. We pray we understand why He is called Holy Spirit while Jesus as man said only the Father is Holy (Perfect). We pray we know the importance of the Holy Spirit and why Jesus as man stepped aside for His Spirit to complete the work of salvation of mankind...

Made of one blood yet different results – understanding life

Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

In the Bible the word blood has 3 meanings – one is the natural blood, second symbolizing sacrifice and third life, since natural life is in the blood (key blood components are regenerated by the bone marrow which symbolizes spirit – natural life comes from the spirit of man).

The spirit of man is different from the spirit of animals, they not been made in the image of God thus they live and as they die their spirit too perishes. In the case of man he been made in God’s image is judged on his death, if he does not know God he judges himself and perishes in Hell till the rest of his spirit life. Man was not made to live the life term he currently enjoys. He was to life for thousands of years but due to sin his natural life is restricted to 120years. So if he goes to Hell he suffers his sins for the rest of spirit life.

Those who know God await Judgment Day on their natural death (they sleep till then) and are judged by a Son of Man who is righteous and not by God Himself. Jesus Christ though being God (part of) humbled Himself and became man proved Himself to be righteous and worthy to judge mankind (the flock). The sheep (who abide in Him) go to Heaven to enjoy eternal life (via the Tree/River of Life) and the goats (who reject His Will) are punished in the Lake of Fire/Sulphur.

God created all mankind (spirit) together in the beginning and we were like seeds. As we come in this world (in the flesh) the seed comes alive and life starts. Children as seeds are in the father and come alive in the womb of the mother, only in the case of Adam (means man, so it was not his name but being the first and only man it became his name) he was made out of dust and Eve his wife and first woman was made out of his bone (symbolizing nature).

We need to understand although we are billions and trillions of humans yet the vacancy in Heaven is very limited (as many as the fallen angels and the two Cherubs – who are complex beings) so all do not go to Heaven, very, very few amongst mankind do.

God being omnipresent alone knows the result, He does not manufacture the result but does assist in the result, since none can make it be himself. God made the seeds perfect but depending on the source of its coming into this world (parents - especially father) it inherits its corruption (none are found perfect). Jesus Christ who humbled Himself and became man was born of a virgin thus did not inherit corruption (that flows from father to children – and mother’s via the father), He became our sacrifice so that we receive His Spirit who undoes the corruption and makes us more and more perfect, till just two are found fully perfect and then comes Judgment Day.

Today the Lord is telling us to think of our purpose and our probable result so that we fear Him and walk in His ways.

Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord alone have life in yourself and since the Son came from You, He too has life in Himself. You made all beings that exist and spirit of man different from spirits of animals. You have a purpose for man and thus created this creation, once the purpose is complete and the few are sanctified in You this creation ceases to exist. We thank You Lord for creating us for greater things which no eyes have seen and mind has contemplated...

Wisdom and foolishness

1 Corinthians 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

People misunderstand today’s scripture along with some other scriptures to assume that one of the qualification required to be a Christian is to be a fool.

Bible says those who know God and are His are blessed with wisdom that is 10times (many times) that of any worldly person. To the world we may look as foolish because of the Gospel message we give and not as per the wisdom we are blessed with.

Christ gives us His Spirit, Spirit of Truth who reveals all thing, it does not mean only Bible scriptures but even hidden sciences and understanding beyond this world. This is what was visible in Daniel and those who were with him and Babylon was one of the world’s first most advance global university that started the science we know today.

Today’s scripture’s context is about people who manipulate the purpose of the human body and then use worldly sciences to try and justify it. Paul did not speak in a prophetic way of what people are doing today for this was also happening during his time. Homosexuality and other types of sexual perverseness was justified then and is even today, with theories and sciences which are actually lies.

Some scientists/ psychiatrics claim these perverseness is genetic but have not been able to prove it, it is like the ‘evolution theory’ which is proposed theory but not proven even today, yet believed and taught in schools.

Let us not assume Christians are called to be fools, we may look like one for the Gospel we preach but otherwise we should just astonish the people of the world with our wisdom and understanding. So let us study everything, in all fields, for we have the ability to understand things better than worldly people do.

Bishop and Deacon

1 Timothy 3:2  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

As I was studying the history of the Church for my coming session I was really amazed at what all came out of it, the things the Lord revealed.

It sometime is astonishing how masses can be misled so easily, and the political situation in India is evidence of that. If a high level person says something with part truth people will sallow that large lie that is attached to it.

We see Pastors give themselves titles like Bishop, Prophet, Apostle etc. without understanding what it means and if it applies to them or not. Before even I was fooled to believe a Bishop was over the normal priest or the person pastoring the Church until I studied the Apostolic system which prevailed during the times of the Apostles, and partly for some years right until 300AD when the Catholic Church came into existence and abolished it.

I really did not know to laugh or cry when I understood these positions and how people misunderstand them and give themselves these titles. They are evidence of our lack of understanding of scriptures and how we believe man more than God, oral traditions over scriptures.

The words ‘Bishop’ means ‘overseer’ and the word ‘Deacon’ means ‘servant’ (for domestic activities – what the Catholic today calls as sacristan). These were not posts in the ministry but for activities pertaining the administration of the Church.

Let us renew our minds and study scriptures as it is written and not as per interpretation by people who did not understand it.

Betrayed by own

Acts 28:18,19  Who, when they had examined me, would have let [me] go, because there was no cause of death in me. But when the Jews spake against [it], I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.

In today’s scripture we see Paul states the Romans did not desire to kill him but it was the Jews that pressurized the Romans to kill him.

During the Apostolic Church period right up to 300AD Christians were not persecuted by Romans as believed by most. There is a mention of only one Roman Emperor Decius who reigned for just 1 year having targeted the Christians in particular. The actual persecution of Christians happened only at the hands of Jews and later Catholics. During that period Christians were most considered a sect of the Jews like Messianic Jews are mistakenly considered today. After 303AD to unto 308AD Romans persecuted Christians and ended with the Emperor Constantine accepting Christianity (he did not become a true Christian but a fusion of pagan beliefs and Christianity which later became Catholicism).

True the Bible says the worldly people hate God and His ways for they do not know Him, yet
His real enemies are not those who do not know Him but are amongst those who know Him and still deny Him.

Hell is made for those who do not know God and deny Him. Hell is not a place where God punishes any soul for it is like a solitary prison cell / pit wherein the person punishes its own self. Hell does not have fire, the Hell fire which scripture speak of in Hell is the sins that burns endlessly within that soul until that souls perishes (which is thousands of years).. Each soul in Hell carries its own fire thus each suffers varyingly.

Those who know God and deny Him are part of His flock and are classified as goats.

On Judgment Day it is the flock that are judged and the sheep are separated from the goats. The sheep enter Heaven and the goats do not go to Hell but to a place worse than Hell, that is termed a Lake of Fire / Sulphur. Here the souls do not suffer their sins since they believed in Him and were forgiven. Here the souls all suffer the same just because they knew Him yet denied His Will. This place is described as Lake of Sulphur since the chemical is one that causes man to no overcome irrespective the number of years.

Jesus said about the Romans crucifying Him that day, ‘Father forgive them for they do not know what they do’. But can He say the same about those who know Him yet crucify Him daily by denying His Will, His Word?

We who know Christ have two choices in our lives, either deny ourselves and crucify our flesh daily, and if we are not doing that then we are denying Him, His Will and crucifying Christ daily.

Lord You are Almighty and Awesome God. You are Merciful God yet are Righteous. You are slow to anger but not forgetful. You give time for a soul to repent and change but when it does not You do judge them righteously. You in your mercy do not judge man as God but by as a righteous man Jesus Christ. Lord we pray we understand the danger of being found as a goat. We pray your people know the dangers of Lake of Fire...

Physical manifestation

Acts 4:31  And when they had prayed, the place was shaken wherein they were gathered together; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

In today’s scripture we find when they prayed the place shock and this literally happened such that they could sense it. It wasn’t that there was an earthquake but only those in that room could sense one. It was not their imagination but something that did happen. Having personally experienced this very long before where even objects in the house sake and fall, but people in the neighboring flats having common walls do not feel anything.

Is this physical manifestation an indication of the glory of God or of His presence?

We need to understand God is everywhere but we do not experience His glory because we are far from Him or not tuned into Him. It is only when we come near to Him, surrender to Him that we experience His presence and His glory. The manifestation in the physical does happen initially when we are growing in the Lord, God does do this to encourage a weak soul but those who are strong in the spirit do not fall or get slain in spirit, neither do they need any shaking of the place nor of themselves.

Laying of hands or physical contact also is for encouraging the other person and is necessary just to increase the faith of that person, but if the faith is strong then just speaking is more than sufficient.

We see this manifestations were there in the initially part of the book of Acts as the people were new in the Lord but as they grew spiritually these were not visible but yet there was power in their prayers and in what they did.

Let us not always seek signs and wonders so as to grow in the Lord, let the truth build us and make our faith unshakeable, into persons exercising authority.

Wise as serpents amongst wolves

Acts 17:14  And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.

We know the scripture Matthew 10:16 where Jesus said He sends forth His sheep amongst the wolves to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

This scripture is what we see happen in Berea when the Christians there came to know of a plot on the life of Paul. Paul wanted to go to Athens and these conspirators from Thessalonica knew of his travel plan so awaited him on the general route to Athens to encounter him on his journey and kill him. So these Christians of Berea did not ask Paul to change his plans but they sent him to the coast line so as to make the enemy feel he fled to Toras but instead had him take the longer coastal route to Athens.

The Christians of Berea were credited by Paul to be spiritually mature Christians filled with understanding of scriptures since they diligently studied it and sought the truth. When Jesus said His disciples will be wise as serpents, He did not speak about the deceiving nature of the serpent but about the nature of the serpent to be aware of its surrounding even though it does not have very good eyesight.

Serpent being a creature that crawls on its belly to move around and thus having its head low, would not have make much sense to have good eyesight. God substituted this with a tongue that senses objects even at far distance and motion sensors under its belly to detect slightest movements at great distances.

We as a Church fail to have vision or word of knowledge of things going to happen thus fall into problems. If our spiritual sense would be active then we too would be able to encounter any problem before it comes our path. We do have Preachers who exercise their word of knowledge ability only during prayer meetings or public events but fail to do so in their own personal lives and ministry or Church.

Let us like the people of Berea be spiritually mature, discerning all things with our proper understanding of scriptures and our good relationship with the Holy Spirit.

Control your sexual desires

1 Thessalonians 4:3-5  For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;

After God made man and woman He said it is good, like He said after creating all that exist in nature. That does not mean we can use things or do what we like with things as to our desire.

We need to firstly know Satan (plural) and the Angels that fell did not consume bad things for they were in Heaven where things are more perfect than in our creation. Everything in Heaven is freely available but when a being takes more than what it requires then it falls into greed. It is not that thing is bad but the misuse of it is not good.

If one realizes the pudendal nerve that is key for a man have orgasm not only end at the scrotum but also at the anus. It is all in the mind that man enjoys or does not enjoy the things that he or she does. It is the mind that we need to control, as to how we look at things. The same with food; the taste buds are situated on our tongue, yet we consume lots of food just to entertain our taste buds and then fall into problems like obesity or gluttony. Like God made the taste buds so also made nerves to end near our reproductive organs, but that does not mean we misuse them.

God made reproduction but it was man who made sex (as to what we know). God knew human beings are weak in the flesh thus permits sex but within constraints of marriage. This is not just a man problem but as much a woman problem.

Be it sex or even food we need to understand its purpose and thus use or consume it. They by itself are not evil but the misuse of their purpose can be evil and lead us to destruction.

We need to understand even though in spirit, both man and woman are the same, yet in the natural we are made different so as to play a role and understand the hidden things of God’s Kingdom.

Born of the Flesh and Born of the Spirit

Galatians 4: 29  But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

After the Lord humbled Himself and then became man Jesus, it is written He was made Himself lower than the Angels.

Angels are spirit being and man although being a spirit being dwells in the flesh. All spirits are not the same thus the Angel are higher spirit beings than spirit man.

We have seen in the Bible Angels could take the form of man in the flesh and could even do earthly things like eating food. Higher being spirit beings are not restricted to take form of lower beings. But amongst man we see only Jesus had the power to transfigure and take the form of a higher spirit being as in an Angel. He did this to confirm to His disciples that as man He overcame. Had He not transfigured then He would have sinned while communicating with Moses or Elijah (man is forbidden to communicate with spirits). Jesus said when we resurrect we will become like Angels (higher spirit beings).

We need to understand when Adam and Eve were without sin even though they dwelled in the flesh they were not restricted to it that is why they never felt their nakedness. They had access to Heaven where the Tree/River of Life is (Genesis 2 talks of two gardens one Eden and other east of Eden - which was on Earth - west / towards righteousness / light and east / towards unrighteousness / darkness).

When Adam and Eve ate of the Tree of Good and Bad / Doubt they got corrupted and lost the Fruit of Truth and Fruit of Righteousness. The story of salvation is all about gaining back these lost Fruits of the Spirit for without them we cannot enter Heaven and have access to the Tree of Life so as to live eternally.

The Fruit of Truth is which we get from the Holy Spirit and Fruit of Righteousness from the Son. Once we (mankind / flock collectively) gets these Fruits we are able to transfigure / transform as Paul puts it. Having the Truth (whole Truth) in us triggers the coming of Jesus Christ to Judge His flock so that who do not have the Fruit of Truth (goats) are punished and those who have (sheep) can transform into higher spirit beings (Angels) and enter Heaven.

Satan (plural) does not desire man be transformed and inherit what they lost with their fall. They use our flesh to go against our spirit so that our spirit does not overcome our flesh and be transformed.

Lord we pray we understand flesh and blood cannot inherit your Kingdom and thus we need to transform into spirit beings. Needs of the Saints

2 Corinthians 9:12  For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;

When we as Christians use the term ‘righteous of God’, ‘holy people’ it does not mean we are actually righteous or holy. It is like we say we know the truth but then we all know we know very little of the truth and there is lots, lots more that we do not know.

I have mentioned before the 9 Fruits of the Holy Spirit mentioned in Galatians are those which we have access to ourselves, while the 3 mentioned in Ephesians, that is Truth, Righteousness and Holiness are those we cannot earn or gain by ourselves, they are received as a gift. Truth comes from the Holy Spirit and those who have the truth receive righteousness on Judgment Day from the Son and then we all in Heaven get to receive holiness from the Father.

The term ‘saints’ does mean ‘holy’ people but does not really mean they are holy but means people pursuing holiness. This is not something claimed but lived and these people who were called saints by Paul were people who lived a life different from the main stream Christians. They were like the Nazarenes were to the Jews.

When the Catholic Church induced the Jewish Nicolaitan system into Christianity the priest became like business managers and irrespective of what they did they had rights to the collection of the Church. In the early Catholic Church the priests lived like kings who abused their position and lived a carnal life. When matters got worse during the dark ages they turned to a life of chastity and a decorous life, but how could they control the carnal desires when these people were far from God that is why one see so much abuse happening in the shadows of this church.

Today’s scripture tells us that it is the duty of the Church to meet the needs of the Saints. It does not mean everyone working for God’s Kingdom has to be supported. Paul did one of the greatest work during his time yet did not count himself amongst the saints, not because he was less holy but his lifestyle was like normal Christian citizen who worked and preached.

Pastors and Preachers should realize they are all not called to burden the Church but support for themselves unless they are living a missionary life of a Saint. Even when they take of the collection it is just for basic needs (OT ‘fistful’). They should also realize they are robbing God when they get greedy and that they lose great in Heaven.

Partaking of idols

1 Corinthians 10:28  But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth [is] the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof:

In India it is sad to see since the Churches are only interested in having people attend service and take the name of Jesus, they do not build them in understanding the Word of God, thus they do not discern things.

Yes we need to take things slowly and not behave like a Pharisee with them but then if they do not change and continue the same even after years and years then there is a problem. It all lands to people are being used (converted) and not saved.

In India traditions and culture has a very strong bondage on the people, they do not let even God to step in those areas and some forsake even God but not the traditions of their elders.

If one asks them from when were these traditions in practice, they will say ancient times but when one investigates one finds them to be not even a couple of hundred years old.. Even if they were thousands of years old can they overwrite God and the truth?

We may not partake food / sacrifice offered to idols but if we check our way of life we will see many things that are connected to idols and beliefs rooted into their worship are followed by Christians not only in India but even in western countries like US and Europe.

Let us discern everything by finding their roots for the sake of showing the world that we are God’s people in the way we live our lives, not just by words; and above all since God has demanded that we be holy for He is Holy.

Can do all things

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through {in} Christ which strengtheneth me.

Today’s scripture is one amongst some which cause a lot of confusion with regards to Callings. The reason is that a person called as a Prophet is also able to heal or evangelize, and a person called as a Teacher can also prophesy or disciple. The problem is, how to know who has the calling of Apostle, Prophet, Teacher, Evangelist, Administrator or Healer if we can do all things.

Today’ scripture has the Greek word ‘en’ which is mostly translated as ‘in’ and sometimes ‘by’ but rarely as ‘through’ (like done here) or ‘with’, it depends of the rendering of the sentence. What is important to understand is the second person (Christ) has a larger role play than the first person (I).

As far as earthly things or skills are concern we as humans have the ability to also do anything we take interest in, it all matters on the level of interest we take. We may have some who are born with or God gifted in that skill and they will be exceptional than others and these are something any person can pray for according to His Will and they will receive it, the person does not need to be born with it.

We need to remember the person who wrote this (Paul) struggled in his speech and was mocked by some, especially the Church of Corinth. So there are times God is keen to build a more important area and thus does not answer our prayer.

Let us understand who we are in Christ and what God has made us to be; let us stand out amongst the worldly people so as to give glory to God and His Kingdom.

Why temp Christ?

1 Corinthians 10:9-12 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also
tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them
also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things
happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition,
upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh
he standeth take heed lest he fall.

The first word temp in today’s scripture is the Greek word ekpeirazo which
means to try beyond that which is tested. In English it would mean to the
test the limits. The second word tempt /tempted is the Greek word peirazo
which means to test. In James 1:13 which speaks of God not tempting us has
Greek word apeirastos as the 3rd word tempted, it means tempted / tested
with evil / led astray.

God does test/tempt us (peirazo) but does not (ekpeirazo) test beyond our
limits nor (apeirastos) test us with evil / lead us astray.

In the OT we see the people murmured against Moses because they loved the
worldly life they enjoyed in Egypt even though they suffered at the hands
of the Egyptians yet they got their carnal desires fulfilled and that was
enough for them. There were some amongst them who questioned Moses and that
too in God’s name (like his own sister Mariam, or Nadab and Abihu the sons
of Aaron) and we know what happened to them.

Today’s scripture tells since God does not tempt us beyond our limits or
lead us astray we should not try to do the same to God and if we do then we
are in the danger of falling. When we were ignorant of things God still
blessed us in our mistakes, but when we know can we fool Him?

Let us not read beyond scriptures when we are aware of what it says. Let us
not try to outwit God like the sons of Aaron tried to do and were consumed
with fire, or the Israelites did to fulfil their carnal desire and died
being bitten by poisonous serpents.

Joy and Peace to the world

Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in
believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

With people celebrating ChristMass one sees banners of ‘joy and peace’ all
over. People say ChristMass is a season of ‘hope’.

Firstly what has ChristMass to do with the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Can we change what is written and make our own Bible like the Catholic
Church tried to do, and is still doing through ignorant people. It was
different if God had not told us to celebrate the birth of the Savior as
one of the ‘eternal/solemn feasts’, then we would have been justified
choosing our own date.

Today’s scripture says joy and peace comes through the Holy Spirit and the
Holy Spirit is identified as Spirit of Truth, so can we get joy and peace
with lies and untruth?

People seek worldly joy and worldly peace with the excuse of ChristMass. We
have been celebrating ChristMass since centuries, let us ask ourselves how
many lives have been changed by ChristMass Carols, ChristMass sweets,
ChristMass cribs, ChristMass stars, ChristMass tree, etc...

Let us ask ourselves which peace and which joy we are seeking, can we get
true joy and peace without the Holy Spirit. Pray that the Holy Spirit
ministers to us and lead us to the truth, so that we receive true joy and
true peace.

Man and gods

John 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye

In Hebrew where every name/word has relationship with the object / subject
and gives information on it for one can decode each alphabet to understand
it since Hebrew alphabets are ideograms (symbolize things, actions, etc.),
English words on the other hand has at the max phoenix relationships. Like
the word Church, the term ‘GOD’ used a lot in the Bible is not a Biblical
word but an English term used as substitute for the many references used
for the Lord. There are various assumptions for the origin of this word,
many English words have Gaulish (ancient European language) origin but most
state the origin of this word is Germanic (means to call/invoke).

When I studied the word what I discovered of the existence of a pagan deity
by the name and that deity was worshipped for prosperity. Initially I
started wondering are we all prosperity seekers? For a short period I
stopped using the word but then the Lord enlighten me there is no harm in
seeking prosperity but in fact every Christian should be a prosperity
seeker but what is important is of which kingdom, not of this world but of
the Heavenly Kingdom. We should worship the God of Heaven and not the
worldly god.

We have words like Baal is used for earthly gods and also for the Heavenly
God. If we understand what the root meaning of the word is we will
understand why it is used in that scripture.

I was told of a new Bible translation to be released wherein the actual
words (with its meaning) referred for the Lord are used and not the blanket
word ‘Lord’ / ‘God’. We need to understand the difference between man and
Angels even though both are made in the image of God, we also need to
understand the difference between Angels and the Lord even though in many
places both are referred as divine beings, when we understand this we will
understand how the Lord humbled Himself and became His creation without
losing His divine nature and also how we are called to be ‘gods’ after we
enter Heaven and become one with the Father.

Age and maturity

John 9:23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.

In most countries the age for voting is 18 and in some 21. Inheritance also
needs age, children need guardians to manage their inheritance, they cannot
enjoy it directly. When it comes to marriage, for a woman it is 18 but 21
for a man. It seem ironic that at 18 a young man can responsibly exercise
his civil rights but is not found mature enough to lead a woman in marriage..

Many years back the age limits for marriage was 16years for women and 18
for men. In some cultures like Islam and even Judaism they thought a woman
who has her menstruation is eligible for marriage. In Islam marrying a
9years old child girl was nothing alarming, we have their prophet who
married a 6 year old child (Aisha) and consummated the marriage when she
was 9 (he waited not for the age but because she was having some medical
problem). The Jews during the time of Jesus thought 13years was the right
age for a girl so stopped called her ‘a girl’ and people had to call her ‘a
young woman’. Jesus did not approve of this thinking and thus used the word
‘Talitha’ for a thirteen years old damsel which in Aramaic means ‘little
girl’. We find even though Jesus did not approve of the traditions of the
Jews especially towards the eligibility of a girl for marriage, yet He did
not want to raise the matter in public for He goes on to tell the parents
to not disclose unto others the fact He called her Talitha. Maturity varies
from age to age for a person.

Age and maturity do not always coincide. People think being childish is
good and love it when people call them ‘youth’. Christians need to
understand only spiritually mature people will get to enter Heaven for
inheritance were only for mature sons (Sons of God - not referring to the
natural gender but spiritual gender).

When Jesus said we need to be like children to enter His Kingdom, the Greek
word ‘paidion’ does not mean simple little children but refers to
dejected/beaten children mostly those having medical problems used more as
slaves. He spoke of those who are outcast / persecuted by society having a
better chance to enter the Kingdom of God.

The Lord is speaking to us who in this world may be of age to ask
ourselves, spiritually are we of age exhibiting maturely and qualified to
inherit His Kingdom. Let us be molded by His Spirit and not relying on any
man, so as to become mature.

Shaddai (Strong Breasted One) for You are not natural gender biased but are
spiritually, not compromising. You desire all mature into Sons of God

Peace is not free, it comes at a price

John 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as [my]
Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

People have different definitions of peace, some confuse it with happiness
and others with inertia. In the Bible we can refer to the Greek word but
the exact definition of any Biblical words can be gained from its Hebrew
source. In Greek the word eirene is best defined as ‘state of no rage or
havoc of war’, But the Hebrew word Shalowm for peace means completeness
and comes from the root word Shalam which has two definitions one is
pay/repay and other restoration.

Peace comes with a price. If we look at today’s message Christ greets His
disciples with peace but in the same sentence speaks of the mission which
the Father assigned Him and He has now assigned us. If we look at even the
famous scripture ‘caste your burden unto me and I will give you rest’,
people omit the later part of the condition for rest that is ‘take my
burden’. We cannot have rest in the Lord or completeness or peace unless we
take the Lord’s burden or mission which is to do bringing back His lost
sheep.

Doing the Lord’s mission for peace is not like a Bata system that the Lord
follows. Jesus said ‘my burden is light like a feather’ since we are helped
in this mission by His Spirit.

Jesus the man is called the ‘Prince of Peace’ not the ‘King of Peace’, true
peace comes from His Spirit who helps us become complete and for this we
need to pay a price, also the price is not full but just a token, the
remaining is paid by Him. Like grace marks cannot be given to a student who
has got zero, so also His grace is not available to us with us doing
nothing. We need to have faith to receive grace and faith is not just
verbal confession but requires us to believe, that means know and live what
we know.

Let us who seek the Lord’s peace also seek His mission in our lives, for
His peace comes only when we do His mission.

Is Jesus with you or is Christ with you?

John 6: 22 The day following, when the people which stood on the other
side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one
whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his
disciples into the boat, but [that] his disciples were gone away alone;

When I was small and was a Catholic, not knowing Christ and the truth,
whenever I was in a difficult situation the first thing I would do, like
most Catholics, is take the sign of the cross. Catholics including
Christians are known to put the sign of the cross on exam papers, so
nowadays in Indian one finds even Hindus following this trend so put OM
symbol. People think it is ‘lucky’ or God’s/gods’ favor will fall on them
when they draw religious symbols!

When we come to know the truth we know writing / tattooing names or
religious symbols is not going to get us any brownie points with God but
may in fact work the other direction for it shows we do not know Him.

Idolizing any human even if it from the Bible is like idol worship and can
cause us to fall on the wrong side with God. I remember one day I shared on
the weakness of the Apostles like Paul and some of the brothers who were
close to me came to the state of almost hating me. When I say any human it
does not mean those who have sinned but even the man Jesus forbid people
from worshiping Him as a human. He went on to the extent to rebuke the man
who called Him ‘holy’ (perfect - translated as ‘good’) and said only God
(the Father) is perfect.

As Christians we worship the Lord Jesus Christ who is God and part of (one
with) God, we do not worship the man Jesus nor any Angels. We lift up the
Name of Jesus meaning His nature, who He is, and not the English word
‘Jesus’ or what He is called in various languages (including Hebrew or
Greek).

Jesus as man even after His resurrection left us so that we associate with
His Spirit and succeed in our purpose in Him. Take the fact He as man
taught His core disciples for almost 3 years but they understood nothing
much, it was only after they were led by His Spirit that within days they
were a transformed lot.

The term ‘Christ’ includes the Spirit of the Son / Holy Spirit who came
from the Father. If we are followers of Jesus and not of Christ then we
fail as Christians and become a cult like Jehovah’s Witnesses who do not
know who ‘Jehovah’ is and still claim to be His ‘witnesses’.

Today’s message is not milk but solid meat, so not easy to digest. It took
almost a year to come to its true acceptance. Unless we do not break these
bonds on idolizing people we will not be people truly led by the Spirit of
God and will not mature to become true Sons of God.

Blindness and Salvation

John 9:13 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.

In the human body one of the most awesome creation of God are the eyes. It
is a marvel that baffles the minds of the most learned. In today’s advance
technology we have mobiles with 108Mega Pixel resolution and we go craze
but do not realize the human which God created is 576Mega Pixel! We are
aware that oxygen to every part of the body goes via the blood but are we
aware parts of the eyes (cornea) get oxygen directly from the atmosphere!

Sight is an important factor for the survival of man, without sight one is
called a handicap and a handicap can still survive in the natural world
with help of others. But in the spiritual world each one is accountable for
himself or herself and spiritual blindness is something that writes that
person off.

In Biblical symbolism / image study, if one needs to study the inner-man /
spiritual heart of man one needs to study the anatomy of the human eye.

In Heaven two types of people will not be allowed to enter, one who is
spiritually blind or spiritually lame. When we say ‘believe in the Lord
Jesus Christ’ it has to do spiritual sight and walk. If we do not know Him
can we claim to believe Him? If we do not follow Him can we claim to be His
disciples?

If we call ourselves Christians we have to make sure we are not spiritually
blind nor spiritually lame. So let us open our spiritual eyes and make our
legs straight so that we are not found amongst goats.

Treasure is in the little details

Romans 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that
weep.

You may have heard from me about the importance of getting into the Hebrew
and Greek words for getting the right understanding.

Let me tell you today if you want to write letters with profound
understanding like Paul did then you need to dig deeper, that is get into
the grammar of the words. One can right volumes when gets into the TVM
(Tense, Voice, Mood) of Greek verbs for they literally tell us what to do,
how to do it and what thoughts should be associated. Out of my extensive
study on TVM [as the Lord revealed to me], Tense tells us what to be done
in the natural, Voice mentally/emotionally and Mood spiritually.

Let us take today’s scripture in English language the first ‘rejoice’ or
‘weep’ and second ‘rejoice’ or ‘weep’ do not seem to be different, but in
the Greek text the TVM of both the first and second lot are different. They
both have Tense and Voice as Present, Active respectively, but have
different Moods.

Coming to the Moods of the first verbs [rejoice and weep], they are
infinitive while the Moods of the second verbs are participle. If one
studies verbals, a participle verb is when a verb takes the form of an
adjective like ‘crying and weeping children’, while infinitive verb would
be like ‘to cry’ or ‘to weep’. Scripture tells us our rejoicing and
weeping should be for short time and expressive. Worldly rejoicing or
weeping can be spiritually disastrous if it extends over long periods.

As Christians we are called to be part of the society, to respond to people
around us. We are called to rejoice, weep with people [not getting into
their religious traditions or festivals] as per their situation but let us
be cautious not to let natural emotions to overtake us. It means we need to
genuinely respond to people in their situation but not lose control of the
truth which is in us.

Worldly emotions are not evil but let our spiritual understanding of things
be in control over everything. Let us learn to smile, laugh, be sad or cry
with people but let us always remember everything here is temporary like we
are ourselves; these things will perish but we will remain and our real joy
is yet to come.

Christianity and violence

Luke 22:38 And they said, Lord, behold, here [are] two swords. And he said
unto them, It is enough.

A couple of months back I was with a team distributing NT at a fair where
we had a stall. Many took them when we spoke of the moral and spiritual
(mental) benefits of reading it. We could not touch on the
religious/salvation aspect of the book since people would think of us as
trying to convert them.

There was one particular young man who had read through (somewhat) not only
the Bible but even books of other religions like Islam, Sikhism,
Zoroastrianism and even Hinduism. He came from a family where his parents
were of different religions and a family where many members were in the
Armed forces. Since he had read the Bible (NT especially) he was disturbed
about the non-violence aspect of it. Most of his questions to me were
about, does Christianity support joining armed forces and allow using force
against the enemy? Like him I am sure there are many who may be rejecting
Christianity or doubtful about following it for these reasons.

Christianity does tell us to be patriotic to the country we are citizens
of. We are called to obey the law of the land and respect those in
authority. We may have differences with them if they are not morally doing
the right thing and speaking or protesting against those actions
(peacefully) is our duty. Coming to violence we as Christians are not
called to take any kind of violence. If we are called to pray for our enemy
and respond with love to them, then that writes off any kind of violence.

We need to understand if we are strong Christians we will not even have a
confrontation with an enemy for Bible says God will cause them to be a
calamity of their own plans against us. Now coming to reality where we are
not strong spiritually then we are called to defend (not attack). We can
join the defense forces but not a colonial force that attacks weaker or
helpless countries with wrong intentions.

The God of the OT is not different than the one of the NT. It was the
spiritual state of the people that was different thus God dealt with them
differently.

In today’s message we see Jesus was aware that He had to leave His helpless
Disciples and they were not strong spiritually for they had not received
the Holy Spirit yet, in this situation He suggests them to arm themselves
with swords so as to protect themselves.

Let us who are baptized in the Holy Spirit and spiritually strong not even
think of violence in the natural. We are called to be very violent
spiritually that too only against evil and not against the doers of evil.
If we have hate a person even if he is a doer of evil than we fail as
Christians, but if we do not hate evil then too we fail to be Christians.
We are called to overcome evil with good, so diplomatic means against an
enemy country should always be our way of handling them.

Flesh and Spirit conflict.

Galatians 5:17,18 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit
against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye
cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are
not under the law.

People think Christianity is against the natural and mistakenly start to
compare it to religions like Jainism where penance and suffering in this
world gets rewards in the spiritual world. It is for this reason
Catholicism moved from Biblical teachings to teachings followed by these
worldly religions.

Today’s scripture may sound like war between flesh and spirit but only when
we get into deeper word study that we realize it is not a natural v/s
spiritual but a spiritual v/s spiritual battle.

The Greek word sarx for flesh comes from the root word saroo which means to
sweep/drag. Like I stated before Jesus and the Jews hardly spoke Greek it
was only when the Apostles went out of Judea that they were compelled to
write and speak in Greek. Greek holds the message / grammar perfectly but
when it comes to understanding the word and its symbolism we need to go the
Hebrew / Aramaic word. Hebrew basar for flesh comes from the root meaning
news/message or tiding. So when Jesus said unless we eat His flesh we will
have nothing to do with Him, He did not speak of actual flesh but His
message / teachings.

Today’s message speaks not of natural v/s spirit but about spirit v/s
spirit, about worldly spirit v/s godly spirit which are both within us. The
worldly spirit uses the natural senses and thus led by it, while the godly
spirit within us uses the help of the Spirit of God/Holy Spirit. The battle
is about whom we choose to lead us, our natural senses or the Spirit of
God. If we live to please our natural senses then we destroy our godly
spirit (deprive it nourishment) but if we please our godly spirit by our
relationship with the Holy Spirit then we deprive our natural spirit its
carnal food and thus kill it.

No person can become a Christian by hurting oneself naturally, so penance
nor fasting by itself changes anything while repentance, focusing
spiritually and being led by the Holy Spirit alone can bring spirit Fruits
and change a person to become a Christian.

Lord You are Almighty God. You are Spirit and so is your Kingdom. Bible
says flesh and blood cannot inherit your Kingdom but only in spirit we can
that too becoming Sons of God by being led by your Spirit. Lord we pray we
do not do foolish things like penance of inflicting suffering to our
natural bodies which is a temple. We pray we focus on the spiritual battle
between our worldly spirit and godly spirit...

The Emblems of the Lord’s Table

1 Corinthians 11:25 After the same manner also [he took] the cup, when he
had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye,
as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me.

Whenever I get this message I get confused as to what to do for scriptures
has been prophesied that the daily sacrifice would be taken away for
1000years and we see this was done by the Catholic Church in 1200AD when
they replaced the emblems of the Lord’s Table with things which contradict
the purpose of the Daily Sacrifice.

Firstly we need to understand the so called Last Supper was the celebration
of the first day of the week of the Feast of Unleavened Bread which
actually came after the Passover week which was of 6 days (5 days
observation of the lamb/goat, killing it in the evening of the fifth day
and the next day was a High Sabbath). During the exile of Israel in Babylon
they had merged the two weeks into one.

The Unleavened Week the people of God were forbidden to consume yeast
(symbolizing worldly knowledge or understanding) nor keep it in their
homes. It was so serious that they were warned of being excluded from God’s
promise of entering the Promised Land/ Heaven (cut out from the people).

In 1200AD the Catholic Church replaced the bread with wafer which they call
‘communion’ (on the top they put the Greek symbol of hell / cross with
curved ends /swastika on it). The OT very specifically classifies the
different types of breads so even though both do not have yeast yet they
cannot substitute for each other. The other thing that this Church did was
replace grape juice with fermented wine. The Hebrew word Yayin for wine
used during Unleavened Week is wine not fermented with yeast.

In Hebrew there are 5 different names which are translated as ‘wine’ in the
English translation thus causing confusing and an excuse for ‘Christians’
to indulge in alcohol.

Let us understand an emblem cannot be changed and if the symbol/emblem is
changed the nation it represents also changes.

Lord You are Almighty God. You Lord do all things with understanding and
purpose so that man knows the hidden things of your Kingdom, there is
nothing that You do without purpose. Lord we pray we understand the
seriousness of symbols in the Bible. We pray we do not also go into the
other extreme of making them idols like the Jews did...

Believing Prayer
 
 
Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be taken up and cast into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. – Mark 11:23 NASB

“Why do I see so little fruit from my ministry?” “Why are members of my church so little helped by my ministry?” These were some of the questions pastors asked Reuben Archer Torrey. His answer? “Neglect of prayer.” He reminded them, “You do not have because you do not ask” (James 4:2).

Spirit of Truth is with you and shall be in you

John 14:17 [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he
dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

When we look at truth in other beliefs we see they project truth as
multi-dimension so depending on the view point truth changes. Compare this
to the Bible we find truth is given as unchangeable.

We may know truth is known gradually that is why it is symbolized by the
pomegranate fruit in the OT. When we open it and inspect each aril looks
like a gem stone, it has 12 sides and is dense packed meaning leaves no
space between each other. All its sides do not have a uniform size thus
vary from seed to seed. It is also not fully flat thus making each aril
unique shaped like a 3D jigsaw puzzle so cannot be moved and put in another
place. The whole fruits is separated into sections by membrane even though
the whole fruit is air tight inside.

I have mentioned before although the Holy Spirit is one He is characterized
as 7 Spirits as light which broadly splits into 7 colors (the rainbow). The
7 Spirit are key to Callings and foundation of the Church (symbolized by
the Candlestick in the Tabernacle). First amongst the 7 Spirit that we
receive on baptism in the Holy Spirit is a token of the Spirit of Truth. It
does not mean we immediately know the whole truth but means we start to see
the truth and grow in the truth. That is why a person baptized in the Holy
Spirit immediately starts drowning himself or herself in the Word of God.

Today’s message discloses a great fact of how our transformation happens
after we are baptized in the Holy Spirit. It tells us the Spirit of Truth
which dwells with us starts to dwell within us. It is not like He takes
residence in one of our organs, if we understand the term Spirit then we
will understand the transformation and what Jesus said about being born
again/born from above.

Lord You are Almighty God, You are Truth and You are Spirit. You do not
change for Truth does not change. You also seek worship that is in Spirit
and Truth. You said in your Word a person can come to You only if led by
your Spirit. Lord we pray we understand what it means to walk and worship
in Spirit and Truth. We pray we surrender to your Spirit more and more so
that He who is with us starts to be in us...
