Delrifkah: HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY.

LORD & KING 
"And the LORD shall be KING over all the earth. In that day it shall be — The LORD is ONE — and HIS NAME ONE." [Zechariah (Zecharyah) 14. 9 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

The angels in heaven will even proclaim the HOLY ONE WHO alone is GOD, "Then the seventh angel sounded; there were loud voices in heaven, saying — The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our LORD and of HIS CHRIST, and HE shall reign forever and ever!" [Revelation 11. 15] 

Some day very soon the ALMIGHTY ONE will return to this earth and will reign forever and ever. Meanwhile, GOD is working out HIS great plan of reconciliation, as made known in HIS REVEALED WORD. In the wondrous Book of Revelation [Chapters 21 & 22] one sees the never-ending glories, the New Earth and CREATOR GOD and HIS REDEEMING SON dwelling with HIS people eternally. 

Our LORD'S final words are both a guide and a warning until HE returns.. HIS final invitation is to "those who thirsts, Come!" [Revelation 22. 17] HIS final warning — "For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this BOOK: If anyone adds to these things, GOD will add to him the plagues that are written in this BOOK; and if anyone takes away from the words of the BOOK of this prophecy, GOD shall take away his part from the BOOK OF LIFE, from the Holy City, and from the things which are written in this BOOK." [Revelation 22. 18 - 19] HOLY SCRIPTURE contains all that man will ever need to know, man needs only to Believe and Obey. 

After that, we find MESSIAH'S final promise. Peter calls this an "exceedingly great and precious promise." [2 Peter 1. 4] "HE WHO testifies to these things says — Surely I am coming quickly." To which our response and the ultimate prayer is, "Amen! Even so, come LORD JESUS!" [Revelation 22. 20] 

Ultimately, there is a final benediction, identical to each closing of Paul's epistles — and the most wonderful of all the words of our BLESSED, LOVING MASTER, "The grace of our LORD Yâ€SHUA haâ€MASHIACH be with you all. Amen." [Revelation 22. 21] How fitting, GOD'S PRECIOUS WORD Begins with HIS creation, now it Ends with HIS saving grace!

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
A house is no home unless it contains food for the soul as well as the body.

WILLING MESSIAH     
"And JESUS, moved with compassion, put out HIS hand and touched him, and said to him — I am willing; be cleansed." [Mark 1. 41] 

When the LORD Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH makes a promise, it is certain to be accomplished.  As soon as HE spoke to the leper, "immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed." [Mark 1. 42]  GOD’S promises may not always take place as instantly as this, but they definitely will be performed. 

The LORD Y’SHUA invites, "follow ME and I will make you fishers of men." [Matthew 4. 19]  This promise is to all HIS true and faithful followers.  But first we must come to HIM, and to those who come HE promises that "the one who comes to ME I will by no means cast out." [John 6. 37] 

"Come to ME, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." [Matthew 11. 28]   The LORD JESUS CHRIST'S promise is the special, intimate love to those who obey HIM — "He who has MY commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves ME.  And he who loves ME will be loved by MY FATHER, and I will love him and manifest MYSELF to him." [John 14. 21]  "Those who love ME I love, and those who seek ME diligently will find ME." [Proverbs (Mishle) 8. 17 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

"The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, HIS ears attentive to their cry." [Psalms (Tehillym) 34. 15 Tanakh, Kethuvim]  Therefore, "whatever you ask in MY NAME, that I will do, that the FATHER may be glorified in the SON." [John 14. 13]  Y’SHUA then continued, "If you ask anything in MY NAME, I will do it." [John 14. 14]  This is sure to come true to the fullest magnitude in the Kingdom Age when righteousness prevails and sin is no longer present. 

Y’SHUA, the GOOD SHEPHERD, promised to come back again and we can be confident that what HE has said, HE will do.  "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to MYSELF; that where I am, there you may be also." [John 14. 3]  Without question the greatest of all GOD'S promises was given in HIS intercessory prayer (the true LORD'S Prayer), "FATHER, I desire that they also whom YOU gave ME may be with ME where I am, that they may behold MY glory which YOU have given ME; for YOU loved ME before the foundation of the world." [John 17. 24]  The promises of our WONDERFUL & FAITHFUL LORD GOD are true, HIS timing is perfect, HIS ways are correct, and HIS love is steadfast and sure.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Praise, hope, and faith are the stuff of which the positive attitude is made; and the means whereby it is exhibited. 

ORACLES OF GOD      
"What advantage then has the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision?  Much in every way!  Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles (revelation, sayings, forewarnings, foreshadowing) of GOD." [Romans 3. 1 - 2] 

It became necessary, although GOD loves the whole world [John 3. 16], for HIM to choose only one of the nations through which HE could convey HIS WORD to all the other nations.  The Jews therefore, were given the high honor of bringing both the WRITTEN WORD  OF GOD as well as the LIVING WORD into the world.  With such a privilege, they also must bear great responsibility; yet most modern-day Jews deny both the inspiration of the LIFE-GIVING ORACLES and certainly the INCARNATE DEITY OF MESSIAH. 

Nevertheless, SCRIPTURE specifically reveals — "For what if some did not believe?  Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of GOD without effect?  Certainly not! Indeed, let GOD be found true but every man a liar.  As it is written: "That YOU may be justified in YOUR WORDS, and may overcome when YOU are judged." [Romans 3. 3 - 4]  "For law will proceed from ME, through MY servant, Israel; MY justice rests as a light of the peoples.  In a moment, I will bring it; MY righteousness is near, MY salvation has gone forth, and MY arms will judge the peoples." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 51. 4 - 5 Tanakh, Nevi’im] 

The expression "oracles of GOD" is used several times in the NEW COVENANT.  In Greek, it is the word, logion — and was understood by the Greeks of that day to refer to actual supernatural utterances given by a spirit through a human medium.  Thus indicating that the OLD COVENANT should be reasoned that they are verbally inspired by the ALMIGHTY OMNISCIENT ONE. 

In the Book of Hebrews, there is emphasis on the importance of "the first principles of the oracles of GOD" [Hebrews 5. 12], rebuking those believers who neglect to learn even the foundational truths of the FLAWLESS HOLY SCRIPTURES.  Paul had reprimanded the church at Corinth, "And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in CHRIST.  I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able." [1 Corinthians 3. 1 - 2] 

Subsequently, Peter uses the phrase — "oracles of GOD" — when he is urging everyone with the spiritual gift of teaching to see that his teaching conforms completely to the WORDS OF GOD as revealed in the SACRED MANUSCRIPT.  "If anyone speaks, let him speak as the ORACLES OF GOD...that in all things GOD may be glorified through JESUS CHRIST, to WHOM belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen" [1 Peter 4. 11]  Our words should always be truth and reasoning and "let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers." [Ephesians 4. 29] 


We then read in the Book of Acts where Luke recounts when the ANGEL OF THE LORD spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai as "the one who received the living oracles to give to us." [Acts 7. 38]  This clearly indicates that the first five books of GOD’S WRITTEN LAW is indeed, the LIVING WORD of the MOST HIGH GOD, written that we may know the wisdom of GOD in our mind and the understanding in our hearts and "know that the SON OF GOD has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know HIM WHO is TRUE; and we are in HIM WHO is true, in HIS SON Y’SHUA ha’MASHIACH" [1 John 5. 20] — HE is the FAITHFUL & LIVING WORD OF GOD and in HIM alone is eternal life.

  When things get tough we must center on who GOD is, what HE has done, what HE is doing, and particularly on what HE is going to do.  Then we praise HIM because in HIS great mercy HE gives us new birth, a LIVING HOPE, and an inheritance.  
  Thinking and praying for each of you, our beloved family. . . may the LORD GOD OF HEAVEN draw you closer to HIS side as you battle in this world for GOD’S TRUTH and give your lives taking a stand for righteousness, morality, and freedom to honor and obey the BELOVED MASTER.  We are never alone, the LORD is eternally with us!
 Celebrating the day the DAYSPRING from on high visited us, because of our GOD’S tender mercies.  How we praise and rejoice in HIM.  Joyous CHRISTmas everyone!

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Qualify yourself in the study of the TORAH, and let all your actions be in the service of ETERNAL GOD for it cannot be passed on to you like a heritage. 

CRIMSON CORD OF HOPE     
"When we invade the country, you tie this line of crimson cord to the window through which you let us down. Bring your father, your mother, your brothers and all your family together in your house." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 2. 18 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

The spies whom Joshua sent to spy out the lands of Jericho, spoke these words to Rahab, the prostitute, after she protected the men from being discovered by the officials of Jericho.  Rahab declared to the spies that "the LORD your GOD is the only GOD in heaven above and on earth below." [Joshua (Yehoshua) 2. 11 Tanakh, Nevi'im]   Therefore, "by faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace." [Hebrews 11. 31 ] 

Rahab's spiritual salvation came because of her faith in the true and living GOD OF ISRAEL; she soon entered into the covenant family of Israel and even became a member of the family line leading to the LORD MESSIAH Y”SHUA.  Rahab's physical deliverance, on the other hand, and that of her family depended on a "line of scarlet thread" suspended from her window identifying her home as being redeemed by the BLOOD, so to speak, when Jericho fell and all its inhabitants perished. 

This thin, blood-red line constituted a very slender hope for Rahab in the midst of such a scene of judgment and total destruction, but it was sufficient.  "Tiqvah" is the Hebrew word for line, the ground of hope, thing hoped for (outcome) — how fascinating!   This is the first time tiqvah is translated as such — elsewhere it is translated as "hope."  Possibly that is when "line" came to mean "hope" because of this memorable experience, when a "crimson , scarlet hope" extended all the way from a repentant sinner to the MOST HOLY LORD, the great GOD OF HOSTS.  "For YOU are my HOPE (LINE), O LORD GOD, my TRUST from my youth." [Psalms (Tehillym) 71. 5 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

"And everyone who has this hope in HIM purifies himself, just as HE is pure." [1 John 3. 3]   "O HOPE of Israel!  O LORD! All who forsake YOU shall be put to shame." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 17. 13 Tanakh, Nevi'im]  Definitely, the blood of the LORD MESSIAH YESHUA is our "LINE OF HOPE" to the ETERNAL FATHER — and through HIS PRECIOUS GIFT to us, we are redeemed for all ages and bound in HIS gracious mercies and love.  The blood of Y”SHUA ha'MASHIACH, the CRUCIFIED & RISEN LORD is our only covering for sin and the only basis for eternal HOPE OF GLORY.

  Farewell Sabbath!  YOUR love, O LORD our GOD has watched over us in the night of oppression; YOUR mercy has sustained us in the hour of trial.  May YOUR Law rule the life of all YOUR children and YOUR truth unite our hearts in fellowship.  Praise to YOU, O LORD, our BLESSED REDEEMER.  We give YOU thanks and praise eternally for YOUR loving kindness that fails not.
  Most of us think we know ourselves pretty well.  Even Abraham thought  he would never have a child.  Moses thought no one would follow him.  David thought he would always honor GOD.  Peter knew he would never disown Y’SHUA.  The Apostles thought the GOSPEL was not for Gentiles.  And Paul thought followers of THE WAY were enemies of GOD.  All of these believed they knew.  However, each was greatly mistaken.  So, what we know that is for sure, is we are to seek GOD’S Kingdom [Matthew 6:33; Luke 12:31], strive for the good of others [1 Corinthians 10:24], live in harmony with each other, be sympathetic, compassionate, kind, gentle, humble, and patient.  [1 Peter 3:8; Colossians 3:12]  Also, show respect to everyone [1 Peter 2:17], never repay evil with evil [1 Peter 3:9], forgive as GOD has forgiven you [Colossians 3:13], and daily walk in truth and love and encourage one another all the more. [John 13:34-25; Hebrews 3:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:10b]  
  Dark times are not coming...they are here.  Therefore, we all need encouragement, and we must shine HIS LIGHT in the darkness and stoke the embers of Hope.  
  Have a delightful week praising the WONDROUS ONE WHO came to earth because of HIS great love for us.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . . 
Blessed be the generation in which those "great in wisdom" accept the authority of "the humble." 

SEARCH FOR WISDOM    
"Where can wisdom be found? and where is the source of understanding?" [Job (Iyowb) 28. 12 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

Men have been searching for this most precious of all treasures since time began.   Eve, when tempted by Satan to believe that the "forbidden fruit" would make her wise, fell into sin.  Likewise, long before Abram left Ur of the Chaldeans, the Patriarch Job (Iyowb) was asking this old, frequent inquiry of his three judgmental, fault-finding friends; but they could not answer. 

Job states: "ELOHIYM sets HIS hand against the flinty rock and overturns mountains by the roots.  HE carves out channels through rock; HIS eyes behold every precious thing.  HE dams up the sources of the streams so that hidden things may be brought to light." [Job (Iyowb) 28. 9 - 11 Tanakh, Kethuvim]  "But, where can wisdom be found; where is the source of understanding?  No man can set a value on it; it cannot be found in the land of the living." [Job (Iyowb) 28. 12 - 13 Tanakh, Kethuvim]  Truly, wisdom cannot be mined nor can it be purchased even with the finest gold or precious stones. 

There is a way to ascertain and learn true wisdom — it is found only in the NEVER-FAILING ONE HIMSELF, for "GOD understands the way to it; HE knows the source." [Job (Iyowb) 28. 23 Tanakh, Kethuvim]  In truth, the ALMIGHTY CREATOR is THE SOURCE.  "For HE sees to the ends of the earth, observes all that is beneath the heavens.  When HE fixed the weight of the winds, set the measure of the waters; when HE made a rule for the rain and a course for the thunderstorms, then HE saw it and gauged it; HE measured it and probed it. HE said to man — Behold!  The fear of the LORD, that is WISDOM; and to depart evil is understanding." [Job (Iyowb) 28. 24 - 28 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

True wisdom is to be found in the LORD MESSIAH Y”SHUA "WHO became for us WISDOM from GOD." [1 Corinthians 1. 30]  In CHRIST JESUS, the LORD "are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." [Colossians 2. 3]   We find wisdom in HIS WRITTEN WORD, the HOLY SCRIPTURES.  "Let the WORD OF THE LORD dwell in you richly in all wisdom." [Colossians 3. 16]

If a person desires wisdom, REAL WISDOM, they will find it only in reverently fearing the LORD GOD, departure from all evil, and receiving the precious MESSIAH Y”SHUA as REDEEMER, SAVIOR, SOVEREIGN LORD & KING.  Wisdom comes through the diligent search to learn HIS ways and obeying them.  "For the LORD grants wisdom; knowledge and discernment are by HIS decree.  HE reserves ability for the upright and is a SHIELD for those who live blamelessly, guarding the paths of justice, protecting the way of those loyal to HIM.  You will then understand what is right, just, and equitable — every good course.  For wisdom will enter your mind and knowledge will delight you." [Proverbs (Mishle) 2. 6 - 10 Tanakh, Kethuvim]   Go forth then and learn — never loosing sight of the crown of glory reserved for you by the WELL-BELOVED CAPTAIN of our faith.

  YOURS, O LORD, is the greatness and the power, the glory and the victory, and the majesty; for all that is in the heavens and in the earth are YOURS; YOURS is the Kingdom, O LORD, and YOU are exalted as head above all.  Praised be the LORD to WHOM all praise is due for ever and ever!  Praised be YOU, O LORD our GOD, RULER of the world, WHO has chosen us from among all peoples and has given us YOUR Law.  Thank YOU for redeeming us, forgiving us, and cleansing us from all our sins.  Let us not be moved from YOUR path of righteousness we pray, Amen!

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . . 
May our words and deeds revere THE NAME as we celebrate because HE came! 

JUST ANOTHER BABY BOY?     
Just another BABY BOY — born in Bethlehem town.
One more hungry mouth to feed, and so the world slept on.
It was a weary, captive world gripped tight in Rome's domain.
The chilling fear of tyranny fast held them like a chain.
Another BABY, more or less...what difference could HE be? 

One more soul to bear the pain and share their misery.
So passed mankind a winter's night, those beaten down by sin,
Too dull to hear angelic strains that rose above the din.
Now two millennia have passed since CREATOR GOD took human frame.
The world runs its appointed course, but nevermore the same. 

HE gathered up the captive's chain
Once forged for you and me.
HE broke the foul tyrant's grasp and purchased liberty. 

Now looms above the manager bed a message for all men:
HE died, HE lives, HE intercedes, HE'S coming back again!
Then herald forth the joyous word, our voices lift as one. . .
. . . the BABE WHO slept in the cattle stall
Is ALMIGHTY GOD'S TRIUMPHANT SON.

  Welcome Sabbath — Queen of the week!  Sabbath Vayigash – “And He Came Near” [Reading: Genesis 44:18-47:27; Ezekiel 37:15-28; Luke 24:30-48]  
  It’s the beginning of another wonderful Season — remembering our BLESSED SAVIOR coming into this world to save us…be sure to make it a joyous CHRIST-filled time!  
  The LORD Y’SHUA came over 2,000 years ago as a Lamb to die.  A CHILD was born – PERFECTLY HUMAN/PERFECT GOD.  A SON was given – undiminished deity. Y’SHUA is coming again as a LION to rule.  And when HE does, the government will be upon HIS shoulder.  That is, HE will reign in absolute authority.  HE has been given names to indicate the character of that future reign:

WONDERFUL, because HE is so magnificent and amazing.  Really, there is no coined words that can fully describe HIM. 

COUNSELOR, because HE will govern with faultless discernment.

THE MIGHTY GOD, because HE will rule with absolute authority.

EVERLASTING FATHER, because HE will possess endless longevity.

PRINCE OF PEACE, because HIS Kingdom will be characterized by enduring tranquility.

In Hebrew, the number 5 represents GRACE (the number of names given to The Child) . . . grace is greater then all our sins, and it is seen in these names – HalleluYAH!  
  "HalleluYAH" Praises YOU LORD, our KING, our GREAT GOD & GOD of our fathers, may our lives be a continual act of worship to YOU.  Teach us to be satisfied with the gifts of YOUR goodness and gratefully rejoice in YOUR many mercies to us.  Purify our hearts, make us zealous for YOUR Law that we may serve YOU in truth that brings rest and joy, peace and comfort throughout every generation.  Guard our mouth that YOUR NAME be kept holy.  May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable to YOU, O LORD GOD, my ROCK, my MIGHTY REFUGE and my REDEEMER.  Amen!  
  Because Y’SHUA came, there is an ANSWER to our questions; a SOLUTION to our problems; a HOPE for our end...HE is all these.  Therefore, rejoice exceedingly in the eternal message...for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
  A joyous CHRISTmas to each of you!  Blessings always as we celebrate our MESSIAH Y’SHUA.  
Have a wonderful & peace-filled CHRISTmas!  Remember always the HOLY ONE WHOM we celebrate and adore this special SeaSON!  During this festive and holy season, let us join together and praying for GOD’S Chosen People as they celebrate GOD’S miracles of victory, provision, dedication and Light.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Economic liberty can produce the evil of greed; political liberty, the evil of pride; religious liberty, the evil of authority; and liberty can also produce an excuse for laziness. 

NO KING IN ISRAEL      
"In those days there was no king in Israel, every man did as he pleased." [Judges (Shofetim) 17. 6 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

In the Book of Judges, we are told four times that "there was no king in Israel in those days" [Judges/Shofetim 17. 6; 18. 1; 19. 1; 21. 25], suggesting that the book was either authored by Samuel (the last judge) or by someone of a later generation.  The first and last of these texts add, "every man did as he pleased."  Tribal leaders were following the ways of humanistic thought leading people away from the knowledge of GOD.  Therefore, the HOLY ONE delivered them to their enemies who put them under oppression.  The ALMIGHTY INFINITE GOD raised up judges from the different tribes to lead the people out of bondage on occasions of widespread repentance and prayer. 

Between these periods were times of oppression from Israel's enemies, and there was moral and spiritual turmoil among the people.  They did have a KING, but refused HIM, as did the men in the parable who "sent a delegation after HIM saying — We will not have this MAN to reign over us." [Luke 19. 14]  They demanded a human king, and Samuel rebuked them for adamantly declaring, "No, we must have a king reigning over us — though the LORD your GOD is your KING." [1 Samuel (Shemuel Alef) 12. 12 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

We can and should be critical of the ancient Israelites for rejecting the ETERNAL ONE as their KING and each man doing as he pleased; and then, we should TAKE WARNING because this is exactly what people are doing today.  "There is no fear of GOD before their eyes" and they are "lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of GOD." [Romans 3. 18; 2 Timothy 3. 4]   When every man believes "what makes him comfortable" and does "what he feels like doing" he has, in consequence, become his own god — or unmistakably is practicing humanism. 

To develop the mind-set of MESSIAH means submission, obedience, servant-hood and sacrifice, all of which mean making choices, every one of which are hard.  But when we decide that the attitude and mind-set of the LORD is right, we have the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD working in us to assist in endeavoring to bring our mind-set in line with HIS. 

Ancient humanism was an empty religion, and so is modern humanism.  They wanted a human king and today's world will yield to a humanistic king to lead them on to a final deadly confrontation with the true "KING of kings and LORD of lords."  It is wiser to worship the ETERNAL KING OF GLORY, believe the INSPIRED WRITTEN HOLY WORD OF GOD, and submit to HIS leadership before it is too late!

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
TORAH is not education, it is a transformation.  So if you are not growing and transforming, you are not really learning.

ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE      
"For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that CHRIST died for our sins according to the SCRIPTURES, and that HE was buried, and that HE rose again the third day according to the SCRIPTURES." [1 Corinthians 15. 3 – 4] 

This text states the great truth that the LORD MESSIAH Y’SHUA died for our sins and was buried stressing that HIS resurrection was physical, not just spiritual; then HE arose victoriously from the grave.  Truly, this is a crucially important passage of the GOOD NEWS. 

Yet, it does not state exactly why Y’SHUA died for our sins; for it was not just to pay for our salvation and make us free.  The number one reason was because of the great love of the ALMIGHTY SOVEREIGN GOD.  "For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON, that whoever believes in HIM should not perish but have everlasting life.  For GOD did not send HIS SON into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through HIM might be saved." [John 3. 16 – 17]  HIS suffering and death provide redemption for all who trust in HIM. 

"HE died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for HIM WHO died for them and rose again." [2 Corinthians 5. 15]  The Apostle Paul tells us that MESSIAH "gave HIMSELF for our sins, that HE might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our GOD and FATHER." [Galatians 1. 4] 

Peter explained that the LORD Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH "bore our sins in HIS OWN body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness." [1 Peter 2. 24]  Another time John said that GOD ALMIGHTY so loved us that it was manifest when, "GOD has sent HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON into the world, that we might live through HIM.  In this is love, not that we loved GOD, but that HE loved us and sent HIS SON to be the propitiation for our sins."  [1 John 4. 9 – 10] 

The LORD JESUS is the believer’s EXAMPLE and HOPE in times of suffering in this spiritually hostile world.  HE did not die only to save our souls, but to empower us to live in a way that would glorify GOD here on earth.  HE is our LIVING HOPE and INHERITANCE.  HE came, HE really lived, HE died to redeem us, then HE arose as TRIUMPHANT CONQUEROR.  Now, won’t you live for HIM?

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Vision looks inward and becomes duty;  vision looks outward and becomes burning desire; vision looks upward and becomes faith. 

NO PLEASURE IN DEATH     
"REPENT, and turn (back to GOD) from all your transgressions; let them not be a stumbling block of guilt for you.  Cast away all the transgressions by which you have offended, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit that you may not die...For it is not MY desire that anyone shall die; nor do I have any pleasure in the death of one who dies — declares the LORD GOD.  REPENT therefore, and live!" [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 18. 30 - 32 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

Ever since the fall of man, the MERCIFUL ONE has done everything HE could to win us back in reconciliation.  HE is the TREMENDOUSLY REMARKABLE CREATOR GOD; we are HIS creation. . . therefore we must be obedient to HIS rules and come to HIM HIS WAY — not ours!  HIS WAY is through Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH, the only REDEEMER and HOPE of salvation for the world.  The LORD JESUS said, "I am the WAY the TRUTH, and the LIFE.  No one comes to the FATHER except through ME." [John 14. 6]  Thus, Y’SHUA OF NAZARETH is the exclusive way, there is no other way "for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." [Acts 4. 12] 

Repentance in the OLD COVENANT: "WASH yourselves clean; PUT AWAY your evil doings from MY sight.  CEASE to do evil; LEARN to do good; DEVOTE yourself to justice; AID the wronged; UPHOLD the rights of the orphan; DEFEND the cause of the widow.  COME, reach an understanding with ME — says the LORD GOD OF HEAVEN.  Be your sins like crimson, they can turn snow-white; be they red as dyed wool, they can become like fleece.  If then, you agree and give heed, you will eat the good things of the earth.  But, if you refuse and disobey, you will be devoured by the sword — for it was the LORD WHO spoke." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 1. 16 - 18 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

Repentance in the NEW COVENANT:  The LORD Y’SHUA declared, "Unless you repent you will perish" [Luke 13. 1 - 5] — "as many as have sinned in the Law will be judged by the Law, for not the hearers of the Law are just in the sight of GOD, but the doers of the Law will be justified." [Romans 2. 13; see also 2. 1 - 16]   "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the Law till all is fulfilled." [Matthew 5. 17 - 19]  The HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL, Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH, the SAVIOR-REDEEMER-KING, the RIGHTEOUS JUDGE wants a personal, intimate (close, cherished, conscientious, thorough) relationship with each of us! 

The woman who was caught "in the act of adultery" [John 8. 2 - 12], is a good example showing that RIGHTEOUS & HOLY GOD does not find pleasure in the death of a sinner.  The Law demanded that both she and her partner (so how did he get away, already?) be put to death. [Leviticus/Vayikra 20. 10; Deuteronomy/Devarim 22. 22 - 23]  But, MESSIAH Y’SHUA did call her to repentance saying, "neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." [John 8. 11] 

Our transgressions and our sins weigh intensely heavy on us.  How can we survive?  "As I live — declares the LORD GOD — it is not MY desire that the wicked shall die, but that the wicked turn from his evil ways and live.  TURN BACK! TURN BACK! from your evil ways, that you may not die, O House of Israel!" [Ezekiel (Yehezke-El) 33. 11 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
He who gives a coin to a poor man is rewarded with six blessings.  But, he who encourages him with friendly words is rewarded with eleven. [Jewish saying] 

DELIVERED FROM THE LAW     
"For the Law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to GOD...by so much more JESUS has become a surety of a Better Covenant." [Hebrews 7. 19, 22] 


The Law of Righteousness stands forever (morals, correct behavior, justice, honesty).  The Law of Atonement (animal sacrifices) is done away with as it was completely fulfilled in the LORD Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH.  The Law, ALMIGHTY GOD declared that we are delivered from, is the carnal, weak and unprofitable Law of Atonement through animal sacrifice that could never make anyone perfect.  A person does not grow in his spirituality (become spiritually mature) if he follows the Unprofitable Law (Law of Atonement) which the ETERNAL ONE has put away.  One draws near to the BELOVED CREATOR — not by keeping the carnal commandment but by following a BETTER HOPE — the LORD JESUS, WHO is the fulfillment of all the HEBREW SCRIPTURES!  "There arises another PRIEST WHO has come, not according to the Law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life...For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment (OLD COVENANT) because of its weakness and unprofitableness." [Hebrews 7. 15 - 16, 18] 


The entire legal system (called "The First Tabernacle" — Hebrews 9. 8) was a figure for that time when gifts and sacrifices were offered but could not make them "perfect" (cleanse them from sins as pertaining to the conscience).  They were outward, fleshly, carnal rituals which were observed to represent that which was to come and be fulfilled in the ANOINTED ONE WHO brought about the reformation.  HE brought a BETTER COVENANT, a BETTER SACRIFICE, a BETTER PRIESTHOOD.   By the ONE SUPREME SACRIFICE on the Altar of Calvary, GOD OMNISCIENT has completely "put away" all ceremonies and sacrifices as found in the Law of Moses.  However, HE allowed the Jewish people to continue observing their rituals until the destruction of Jerusalem.  From that time on they could not continue under the Mosaic System.  This is the way the ALMIGHTY HOLY ONE HIMSELF made the observance of the Law impossible, further emphasizing this by the admonition through Paul, HIS Jewish Apostle:  "Therefore by the deeds of the Law no flesh (Jew or Gentile) will be justified in HIS sight, for by the Law is the knowledge of sin." [Romans 3. 24 - 31; 4. 1 - 21; Galatians 3. 19 - 25] 

The Law of Moses is called "the Law of a carnal commandment."  When one is delivered from the "carnal commandment" by believing in the LORD Y’SHUA, the CRUCIFIED ONE , he is putting himself back under bondage when he continues to observe the carnal law (which has to do with the flesh).  Speaking in regards of the Gentiles conforming to the Laws and rituals of the OLD COVENANT, Peter declared to his own Jewish brothers that they were as a yoke and were difficult to bear (by him, his Jewish brothers of his day, and their Jewish forefathers).  Peter questioned the Jews who were burdening the Gentiles with this yoke.  He pointed out that these rituals under the Law then were not a joy and did not make the Jewish person any better by observing them. 

Peter, speaking of the Gentiles (to the Jews) said, "Now therefore, why do you test GOD by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?  But we believe that through the grace of the LORD JESUS CHRIST we shall be saved in the same manner as they." [Acts 15. 7 - 11] 

It is not by our rituals of the Law, but by the GRACE OF THE LORD that Jew or Gentile shall be finally and completely saved.  But didn't our Jewish brother, Paul, have a vow under the Law which he kept? [Acts 21. 18 - 28]  Paul did go back under the Law to appease our own Jewish people, perhaps to try to win them to their MESSIAH, yet this did not attract them to salvation, rather they tried to kill him after he had done this!  Also, our father Abraham did not observe the works of the law since he was before the Law.  Nor did he observe the ceremonies, never kept any of the Feast Days, Sabbaths, washings, etc. — yet he is called "the father" of the Jews and Gentiles who believe in the ONE WHO is the TRUE BREAD OF LIFE! 

The SCRIPTURES show that in the LORD JESUS there is no difference between Jew and Gentile when it pertains to following the NEW COVENANT.  Both have been set free from bondage of the carnal commandment which has to do with fleshly works.  They are now "spiritual" for they follow the "Spiritual Commandment" of the NEW COVENANT.  One does not carry burdens of the Law when the GREAT SHEPHERD has delivered these burdens from him.  He does not follow a "dead and profitless Law" (as the ALMIGHTY ONE called it) when New Life and a BETTER COVENANT has come! 


Oh, my people Israel, and all who have been delivered out of bondage, the yoke of rituals, the commandments of men with their traditions, opinions and interpretations. . . MESSIAH Y’SHUA has made us free; so stand fast and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage!  In the LORD JESUS CHRIST neither circumcision nor un-circumcision avails anything, but faith working through love avails everything. [Galatians 5. 1, 6]  O taste and see that the LORD is good!

  There are three blessings after lighting the Shamas Candle: "Blessed are YOU, O LORD our GOD, KING of the Universe, WHO has sanctified us by YOUR commandments and commanded us to kindle the Chanukkah lights."  Isaiah 49:7 gives a beautiful picture of the ONLY SERVANT OF GOD WHO was exalted after HE had given HIS LIGHT to HIS people, "The REDEEMER OF Israel, GOD’S HOLY ONE; HIM WHO is despised; HIM WHO is abhorred of nations; to a SERVANT of rulers, kings shall see and arise; princes shall prostrate themselves."
  The Second Blessing gives thanks for the miracles which have saved the Jewish people even when others wanted to destroy them. "Blessed are YOU, O LORD our GOD, KING of the universe, WHO has kept us in life, sustained us and brought us to this festive season."  The SHAMAS (Servant) came to light every man who comes to HIM, and all who come to HIM shall no longer walk in darkness but shall have the LIGHT OF LIFE! "The people that walked in darkness have seen a GREAT, BRILLIANT LIGHT; they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them LIGHT has dawned." [Isaiah 9:2 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 
  The Third Blessing gives thanks that our family and friends can be together to celebrate the holidays.  "Blessed are YOU, O LORD our GOD, KING of the Universe, WHO performed wondrous deeds for our ancestors in days of old and has kept us in life, sustained us and brought us to this festive season."  Y’SHUA the MESSIAH is the HOLY ONE sent of GOD to bring us the LIGHT of Salvation.  Of MESSIAH it is written: "The LIGHT of Israel will be Fire, and the HOLY ONE a FLAME." [Isaiah 10:17 Tanakh, Nevi'im]  
  The blessing before lighting the Eighth Candle (with the Shamas Light)
The Eighth Light is the LIGHT of Courage. Let truth and justice be your armor and fear not, the ALMIGHTY ONE is with you.  Judah Maccabee, the hero of Chanukkah, lived by the words Moses spoke to Joshua: 
"Ha'Zak Ve'Emats (Be strong and of good courage.)"
  The blessing after lighting the Eighth Candle
"May the GREAT GOD of Heaven and earth give you courage and boldness to proclaim HIS wondrous GOOD NEWS of salvation to all." 
  The Book of Revelation gives us a description of our glorious eternal dwelling place in the New Jerusalem: 
"I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its Temple.  The City had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of GOD illuminated it.  The LAMB is its LIGHT. And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its LIGHT, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honour into it." [Revelation 21. 22 - 24]

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
There is a fear of GOD which causes men to flee from HIM; and one which causes them to dance before HIM with joy. . . may you know and experience the latter. 

CREATOR OF DARKNESS     
"I form light and create darkness, I make prosperity and create woe — I the LORD do all these things." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 45. 7 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

The Hebrew word "'ra" is translated woe or evil plainly meaning misery, calamity, affliction, adversity — it never means sin.  The ETERNAL GIVER OF LIFE said, "cursed be the ground because of you" [Genesis/Bereshith 3. 17] that the sorrows, pains and anguishes of life might bring mankind to know his great need of the LOVING REDEEMER.   When sin has been removed in the New Earth, sin and evil, as well as the curse on the ground, will be no more. 

The same is true in the case with darkness since "GOD is LIGHT and in HIM is no darkness at all." [1 John 1. 5]   It was necessary for ha'Kadosh Barukh Hu (the HOLY ONE, blessed be HE), to create darkness so there would be a distinction between day and night.  The heavenly darkness became the background for the sun, moon and stars to serve their function for "signs and for set times — the days and the years." [Genesis (Bereshith) 1. 14 Tanakh, Torah]   Also, it was for man's benefit while on earth, for he would need nightly rest as well as his daily food. 

Therefore, the darkness enveloping the earth at its time of creation [Genesis/Bereshith 1. 2] was not a judgment on the earth because of the fall of the Devil as some have taught.  Like everything else created by our TREASURED LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, it was "very good" [Genesis/Bereshith 1. 31] — created for a special and helpful purposes.  The evil implications of darkness came later when evil men and demons found they could better promote their deceptions under cover of darkness.  However, the light of the LORD GOD is available to overcome and conquer the darkness when needed and desired, "The darkness is not dark for YOU; the night is as light as day; darkness and light are the same." [Psalms (Tehillym) 139. 12 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

"For it is GOD WHO commanded light to shine out of darkness, WHO has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the GLORY OF GOD in the face of MESSIAH Y’SHUA" [2 Corinthians 4. 6], the MAGNIFICENT ONE "WHO is the BRIGHTNESS OF HIS GLORY and the PRECISE IMAGE OF HIS PERSON." [Hebrews 1. 3]  Blessed be the LORD GOD forever and ever.  And, may HE fill you who trusts in HIM with all joy and peace and hope by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . . 
  Tradition can really miss the mark —  
GOD:  And remember, Moses, in the Laws of keeping kosher, do not boil a kid in its mother's milk.  It is cruel.  
Moses:  So, YOU are saying we should never eat milk and meat together?  
GOD:  No, what I'm saying is, "Never cook a young goat in its mother's milk."  
Moses:  O LORD, forgive my ignorance!  What YOU are really saying is we should wait six hours after eating meat to eat milk so the two are not in our stomachs together.  
GOD:  No, Moses, listen to ME,  I am saying —"Do not cook a kid in its mother's milk!"  
Moses:  Oy, LORD!  Please don't strike me down for my stupidity!  What YOU mean is we should have a separate set of dishes for milk and a separate set for meat and if we make a mistake we have to bury that dish outside for 3 days?  
GOD:  "Whatever!!!" 

KOSHER FOODS      
"The LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them, speak to the Israelite people thus:  These are the creatures you may eat from among all the land animals: Any animal that has true hoofs, with clefts through the hoofs, and chews the cud — such you may eat.  And of those that live in water: Any that has fins and scales you may eat.  You shall not eat any abominable bird.  You may not eat anything abhorrent; no detestable thing." [Leviticus/Vayikra 11. 1 - 23; Deuteronomy/Devarim 14. 4 - 21] 

The ALMIGHTY HOLY GOD gives the children of Israel HIS Laws concerning their food.  They were forbidden to eat the flesh of animals whose hoofs are not cloven or which do not chew the cud (horse, camel, swine, rabbits, etc.); the fish that lack fins and scales (lobster, crabs, scallops, etc.); birds of prey (eagle, vulture, crows, etc.); all creeping things and insects (cockroach, spiders, lizards, snakes, etc.) except for certain types of locusts.  It should be observed that even of those animals permitted for food, certain parts were forbidden:  The Blood [Deuteronomy/Devarim 12. 23]; Fat [Leviticus/Vayikra 3. 3 - 5; 7. 23]; and in Jewish custom, the Hind Quarter, because it contains the sciatic nerve.  The hind quarter is avoided as food because of the occurrence in Genesis, the story of Jacob's wrestling with the ANGEL OF THE LORD — "the children of Israel to this day do not eat the thigh muscle that is on the socket of the hip, since Jacob's hip socket was wrenched at the thigh muscle." [Genesis (Bereshith) 32. 32 Tanakh, Torah] 

These dietary laws were given to the Israelites primarily for hygienic reasons to bring to their attention the importance of being Clean and Holy in the sight of the RIGHTEOUS ETERNAL ONE.  Their difference from other peoples was not only to be in their religious worship but also in their eating habits.  The HOLY LORD GOD explained this conclusively and definitely. . . 
The primary reason for giving these food laws to Israel was to sanctify them, to establish a difference between them and the heathen.  "I the LORD am your GOD; you shall sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am holy...you shall not make yourselves unclean." [Leviticus/Vayikra 11. 44; Deuteronomy/Devarim 14. 2 - 3]   They were to be a holy people to GOD MOST HIGH. 

CREATOR GOD called some animals and fish "clean" and some "unclean" to teach lesson's by the very nature of these animals and fish (for their meat was good to eat).  The "Divided Hoof" depicts separation.  An animal with divided hoofs can climb to high places.  The people of GOD are to be like the clean animal — separated from the worldly system to climb the high mountains of spiritual victory! 

The "FINS" are for propulsion, to swim against the current, to stay off the mud below.  The people of GOD are to be like the clean fish with fins; refuse to slide along in the mud or to drift with the tide, but swim against the current.  "Scales (Hebrew: "qasqeseth" means- coat of mail)"on the clean fish are for protection against muddy waters and any contamination.  GOD'S people are to be like the clean fish with scales, though in the world, protected against all the filth of the world, encased in a "coat of mail." 

ALMIGHTY GOD commanded HIS people only to eat the meat of those animals who "chew the cud."  The HEBREW TORAH translates "chewing the cud" as reflect, think, to muse, to ponder, to meditate.  This is a mark of the sanctified life — "to chew the cud" — the WORD OF GOD, to meditate upon it day and night. 

There is significance also in the command of the ETERNAL ONE which prohibits fat and blood.  However, it is Jewish custom, not GOD'S Law which forbids the hind quarter of animals which were "clean" for food.  Blood, because the life of the flesh is in the blood. [Deuteronomy/Devarim 12. 23; Leviticus/Vayikra 7. 26; 17. 10 - 11]  Fat, because the fat belonged to the LORD God Almighty. [Numbers/B'Midvar 18. 17; Leviticus/Vayikra 3. 16]   The Sinew [that shrank], because INVINCIBLE GOD touched the human "strength" of Jacob (Israel) while wrestling with him. [Genesis/Bereshith 32. 32]   In all this we see:  Blood is the Life; Fat shows Abundance; Sinew portrays Strength. . . and all belongs to the LORD GOD! 

Consider this also, there was a difference between Clean and Unclean animals before the Law was given.  At the time of the flood, Noah was to take seven of every Clean animal — male and its female; and two each of the Unclean animals — male and its female. [Genesis/Bereshith 7]    Even in the foods one eats, the HOLY OMNIPOTENT LORD OF HOSTS wants HIS children to be set apart, consecrated.

  The Second Blessing gives thanks for the miracles which have saved the Jewish people even when others wanted to destroy them. "Blessed are YOU, O LORD our GOD, KING of the universe, WHO has kept us in life, sustained us and brought us to this festive season." The SHAMAS (Servant) came to light every man who comes to HIM, and all who come to HIM shall no longer walk in darkness but shall have the LIGHT OF LIFE! "The people that walked in darkness have seen a GREAT, BRILLIANT LIGHT; they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them LIGHT has dawned." [Isaiah 9:2 Tanakh, Nevi'im]

John 1:4-5   Y’SHUA declared, "I am the LIGHT of the world.  Whoever follows ME shall not walk in darkness, but have the LIGHT of Life." John 8:12

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
One good deed has many claimants. 

144,000 JEWISH WITNESSES       
"And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the Tribes of the Children of Israel were sealed." [Revelation 7. 4]
 
Every cult ranging from British Israel to the Watch Tower to all other perfidious, dishonest deceivers impersonating true follower of MESSIAH organizations proclaim that they are this "chosen designated number" of ALMIGHTY GOD'S people.  They allege that it cannot be the literal 12-Tribes of Israel, sons of Jacob, because Dan and Ephraim are missing in the count. [Revelation 7. 5 - 8]   However, they are in great error.  Omitting information in the HOLY SCRIPTURES, has as profound and substantial reasons as does its giving of information. 

It is important to know who these 144,000 sealed Israelites are and the important position they have in the prophetic plan of the TRUE & LIVING MIGHTY GOD for the End Times that are nearly upon us.  These, special and selected number from Israel's Tribes, are the ones who will go throughout the whole world preaching ("following the LAMB wherever HE goes") at the time of "Jacob's Trouble (The Great Tribulation)" — while the great and terrible wrath of the RIGHTEOUS & HOLY ONE is being poured out on the whole face of the earth.  "Then I looked, and behold, a LAMB standing on Mount Zion, and with HIM 144,000 having HIS FATHER'S NAME written on their foreheads.  These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins.  These are the ones who follow the LAMB wherever HE goes.  These were redeemed from among men being first-fruits to GOD and to the LAMB.  And in their mouth was found no guile (deceit), for they are without fault before the Throne of GOD." [Revelation 14. 1, 4 - 5] 

The documented record of the 12-Tribes of Israel has 12,000 virgin men from each selected tribe [Revelation 7. 5 - 8] listed is as follows: 
Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph and Benjamin.  These are all exclusively and clearly named Tribes of Israel (the sons of Jacob).   From studying the SCRIPTURES OF TRUTH, we know from Genesis 48 that Israel (Jacob) gave Joseph a double-portion along with his brothers.  Jacob (Israel) claimed both of Joseph's sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, as equal heirs of the inheritance of Israel along with each of Israel's (Jacob) other sons...making a total of 14 Tribes.  "Now your two sons, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, shall be mine; Ephraim and Manasseh shall be mine even as Reuben and Simeon are mine... Your offspring whom you beget after them shall be yours; they will be called by the name of their brothers in their inheritance." [Genesis (Bereshit) 48. 5 - 6 Tanakh, Torah] 

In the Book of Exodus, the tribe of Levi was set apart as the priestly tribe, leaving 13 national tribes.  But in Revelation 7:5-8, Levi is named again along with the tribe of Joseph.  These take the place of the tribes of Dan and Ephraim resulting in a representation of 12 actual Tribes of Israel from which the 144,000 designated number are taken. 

Then, why are Dan and Ephraim missing in this list??  The ALL-KNOWING, ALL-WISE Creator GOD does everything perfect and is orderly!  The name Dan means "judge." This is not a time of judgment, but for "witnessing."  And, a judge is not a witness.  Ephraim means "first-fruit." The number "144,000" is a fixed number. . . not the first-fruits of more to come of like kind, but they are clearly set apart as first-fruits for that specific purpose and time (the last 3 ½ years).  The 144,000 Israelites are a unique one-of-a-kind group to be "Witnesses of GOD and the LAMB."  They are distinct from other men in that "they sang a new song before the Throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth." [Revelation 14. 3] 

Dan and Ephraim are only excluded from this specified group.  The MERCIFUL & COMPASSIONATE GOD OF ISRAEL has not banished the nation of Israel and the "12 Patriarchs" are special to HIM.  The ETERNAL ONE cannot lie.  HE keeps all HIS promises ["The Promise" — see Genesis/Bereshith 17. 6-9] including those made with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel).  In the Book of Ezekiel where the "Gates of the Holy City" are described, Dan is again mentioned as having one of the "Gates" named after himself, showing he still has a place in GOD'S Kingdom. [Ezekiel/Yehezke-El 48. 32; Revelation 21. 12-13]   Also, Dan has the first portion of land assigned to him in the Kingdom Age. [Ezekiel/Yehezke-El 48. 1] 

Ephraim receives a land portion in the Kingdom [Ezekiel/Yehezke-El 48. 5] and his father, Joseph (in whom Ephraim would be incorporated) has a "Gate in the Holy City" named after him. [Ezekiel/Yehezke-El 48. 32; Revelation 21. 12-13] 

The GREAT OMNISCIENT CREATOR OF HEAVEN & EARTH has a "Continuing Covenant" with the Jewish people.  "Thus said the LORD: As surely as I have established MY covenant with day and night — the laws of heaven and earth — so I will NEVER reject the offspring of Jacob and MY servant David; I will NEVER fail to take from his offspring rulers for the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Indeed, I will restore their fortunes and take them back in love." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 33. 25-26 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

There is another prophetic warning to those who imprudently declare they are the 144,000 Witness of the MOST HIGH.  This warning comes direct from the mouth of THE HOLY ONE WHO holds the seven stars in HIS right hand, WHO walks in the midst of the seven Golden Lampstands — "I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are NOT, but are a synagogue of Satan.  Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, WHO SAY THEY ARE JEWS AND ARE NOT, but LIE — indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you." [Revelation 2. 9; 3. 9] 

It is not wise to  rephrase, reword, or refuse to accept what our LOVING CREATOR GOD so clearly states.  HE says what HE means, and means what HE says.  We would do well to believe the HOLY INSPIRED WORD as it is written — rather than attempt to change them by interpretation according to our own ideas or wishes.

  After we come to know MESSIAH, we are to be a source of LIGHT for the world. KING JESUS told us, "You are the LIGHT of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they LIGHT a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives LIGHT to all who are in the house.  Let your LIGHT so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Turn it and turn it again for everything is in it; the HOLY SCRIPTURES are a gold mine of information! 

KING ETERNAL     
"Now to the KING ETERNAL, IMMORTAL, INVISIBLE, to GOD alone WHO is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen" [1 Timothy 1. 17] 

Such an incredibly GREAT & WONDROUS GOD we have.  HIS character and attributes are too abundant to number.  The HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL is both eternal and immortal.  "I AM that I AM (Hebrew: EhYAH-Asher-EhYAH)"  the LORD GOD called HIMSELF when speaking to Moses. [Exodus/Shemot 3. 14] 

In due season, the IMMORTAL ONE, MESSIAH Y’SHUA the SUFFERING SERVANT died to redeem mankind, then rose victoriously from the dead and now "ever lives to make intercession for us." [Hebrews 7. 25]   "The LORD your GOD is gracious and merciful; HE will not turn HIS face from you IF you return to HIM." [2 Chronicles (Dibre Hayamin Bet) 30. 9 Tanakh, Kethuvim]  "The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in kindness; forgiving iniquity and transgression." [Numbers (B'Midvar) 14. 18 Tanakh, Torah]   "The kindness of the LORD has not ended, HIS mercies are not spent.  They are renewed every morning — abundant is YOUR grace!" [Lamentations (Ekhah) 3. 22 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

Daniel called HIM the "ANCIENT OF DAYS" and described HIM with great splendor and brilliance. [Daniel/Danyel 7. 9 - 14]   In Revelation, CHRIST JESUS is shown to be the SON OF MAN, THE FIRST & THE LAST, THE SON OF GOD, the ONE WHO has the SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD, the AMEN, the FAITHFUL & TRUE WITNESS, the BEGINNING of the creation of GOD. [see Revelation 1 - 4]   Paul called HIM "the blessed and only SOVEREIGN ONE, the KING of kings and LORD of lords, WHO only had immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, WHOM no man has seen nor can see; to WHOM be honour and everlasting power, Amen." [1 Timothy 6. 15 - 16]  
Daniel's declaration of praise was:  "Let the NAME of GOD be blessed forever and ever, for wisdom and power are HIS.  HE changes the times and the seasons; HE removes kings and positions kings; HE gives the wise their wisdom and knowledge to those who have compassion and understanding.  HE reveals deep, difficult and secret things. HE knows what is in the secluded darkness, and light dwells with HIM.  I acknowledge and praise YOU, O GOD of my fathers." [Daniel (Danyel) 2. 20 - 22 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 
Give honor to our LOVING MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE by pursuing righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness that befits a man of GOD.  How very wondrous and remarkable our LIVING HOLY LORD is!  Truly, there is none like our GOD!  Amen & Amen

After Lighting the Shamas Candle
  There are three blessings after lighting the Shamas Candle: "Blessed are YOU, O LORD our GOD, KING of the Universe, WHO has sanctified us by YOUR commandments and commanded us to kindle the Chanukkah lights."  Isaiah 49:7 gives a beautiful picture of the ONLY SERVANT OF GOD WHO was exalted after HE had given HIS LIGHT to HIS people, "The REDEEMER OF Israel, GOD’S HOLY ONE; HIM WHO is despised; HIM WHO is abhorred of nations; to a SERVANT of rulers, kings shall see and arise; princes shall prostrate themselves."
  The Second Blessing gives thanks for the miracles which have saved the Jewish people even when others wanted to destroy them. "Blessed are YOU, O LORD our GOD, KING of the universe, WHO has kept us in life, sustained us and brought us to this festive season." The SHAMAS (Servant) came to light every man who comes to HIM, and all who come to HIM shall no longer walk in darkness but shall have the LIGHT OF LIFE! "The people that walked in darkness have seen a GREAT, BRILLIANT LIGHT; they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them LIGHT has dawned." [Isaiah 9:2 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 
  The Third Blessing gives thanks that our family and friends can be together to celebrate the holidays. "Blessed are YOU, O LORD our GOD, KING of the Universe, WHO performed wondrous deeds for our ancestors in days of old and has kept us in life, sustained us and brought us to this festive season."  Y’SHUA the MESSIAH is the HOLY ONE sent of GOD to bring us the LIGHT of Salvation. Of MESSIAH it is written: "The LIGHT of Israel will be Fire, and the HOLY ONE a FLAME." [Isaiah 10:17 Tanakh, Nevi'im]
  The blessing before lighting the Forth Candle (using the Shamas Light)
The Fourth Light is the LIGHT of Mercy. Cruelty hardens the heart and destroys friendship.  "Do justice, and love mercy, and walk humbly after your GOD."

"The LORD is good; HIS mercy is eternal, HIS faithfulness and truth is for all generations."  
Psalms 119:105 and 119:130 describe the LIGHT that comes from GOD'S HOLY WORD, "YOUR WORD is a LAMP to my feet, a LIGHT for my path.  The unfolding of YOUR WORDS gives LIGHT; and grant understanding to the simple."  
  During this festive and holy season, let us join together and praying for GOD’S Chosen People as they celebrate GOD’S miracles of victory, provision, dedication and light.  Wishing you every happiness and fulfillment during this Festival of Lights!

An eternity is any moment opened with patience. 

 

VANISHING SERPENTS      
"(The Egyptian magicians). . . each cast down his rod, and they turned into serpents. But Aaron's rod swallowed their rods." [Exodus (Bereshith) 7. 12 Tanakh, Torah] 

 

Just like the future Image of the Beast in the Book of Revelation, which will seem to have life, these magician-induced serpents are "lying wonders." [2 Thessalonians 2. 9; Revelation 13. 15]   Evil spirits do possess certain powers, which can be used to impress their worshippers with the magical insights and abilities of the images.  However, neither man nor demons can really create life; they simply imitate, steal, cheat and lie.  Creation is a privileged prerogative, indulgence, or advantage of GOD ETERNAL.   HE alone can and did "create all the living creatures." [Genesis (Bereshith) 1. 21 Tanakh, Torah] 

 

Both human magicians and demonic spirits can, however, generate hypnotic mental states and occult hallucinations; by which ungodly people, like Pharaoh, may be deceived into seeing as real physical entities.  However, when their demonstration was over, there was nothing to show for it.  Even the magician's rods  (not serpents) were gone, for Aaron's rod became an indisputably authentic serpent who had made a meal of them.  In a true creation miracle, Aaron's MASTER DESIGNER had transfigured the dead atoms of a wooden stick (just as HE later caused it to sprout, put forth buds, produce blossoms and yielded ripe almonds, see Numbers/B'Midvar 17. 8) into a living serpent capable of consuming other sticks which only appeared (impersonated, seemed, imitated) to be serpents. 

 

[Regarding Pharaoh, there are three different Hebrew verbs used in the narrative to indicate the hardening of his heart.  Each verb has a different nuance (degree, graduating tone).  The first, "ksh-h" means "harden"; the second "chzk" conveys "strengthen"; and the third "kbd" indicate to "make heavy".  When Pharaoh continually hardened his heart, it led to GOD hardening his heart and used him as an example to the rest of the world, so they would know that the MIGHTY GOD of Creation is the only GOD.] 

 

The deception of the magicians was revealed later when they were unable to imitate the mighty hand of GOD turning dust into lice throughout the land of Egypt. [Exodus/Shemot) 3. 18]   There is a limit to the things the ALMIGHTY LIVING GOD will allow, even of deceivers, proving that only HE is the CREATOR/SUSTAINER of life and does as HE wills! 

 

The miracle of Aaron's rod can also be seen as a parable:  Aaron's ROD OF LIFE took on the nature of the serpent, just as the OVERCOMER was "made sin" for us. [2 Corinthians 5. 21]   But then, it swallowed up the other serpent-rods, and the sting of "that old serpent" was put away.  Thus, "death is swallowed up in victory.  O DEATH, where is your sting?  O Hades, where is your victory?" [1 Corinthians 15. 54 - 55]   In Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH, VICTORY IS AHEAD! and we are more then conquerors because of our WONDERFUL LORD JESUS.

  The First Light of Chanukkah is lit at sundown tonight.  By saturating every area of life with purpose and holiness we will never burnout. The MESSIAH Y’SHUA is shown in the Chanukkah lights as the middle or "SHAMAS (Servant) Candle." HE comes to minister, serve, and save; HE serves mankind with HIS wonderful salvation.  We say special prayers before we light the menorah.  There are blessings said over these special Chanukkah lights.

WISE MAN'S GLORY      
"Thus says the LORD — Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom; let not the strong man glory in his strength; let the rich man not glory in his riches.  But only in this should one glory: In his understanding and earnest devotion to ME.  For I the LORD act with lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness in the world.  For in these I delight— declares the LORD." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 9. 23 - 24 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

 

We naturally think we must do something to merit GOD'S favor, but GOD'S WRITTEN WORD plainly declares, "GOD demonstrates HIS OWN love toward us in that while we were still sinners, MESSIAH died for us." [Romans 5. 8]   Dear one, if you are wise, mighty, or rich and proud of these things, relying on your wisdom, might and riches, but you do not know the LORD JESUS, there is no hope for you, except you yield to HIM in perfect obedience.  Each one has to renounce all his pride, and appear at the JUDGMENT THRONE OF ALMIGHTY GOD as a miserable sinner, looking only for mercy and not for rewards. 

 

This sets aside everything we might do to merit salvation as worthless, "for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of GOD, not of works, lest anyone should boast." [Ephesians 2. 8 - 9]  This is the reason why GOD'S WAY of salvation will never be popular in this world; it is not flattering to the human race, it sets aside everything in which we can possibly pride ourselves, and makes everything of MESSIAH Y’SHUA and HIS finished work on Calvary's Cross.  The KING of all ages was rejected here, and now the question for you dear reader is, "Which side are you on?"  Have you taken sides with the LORD JESUS confessing HIM as your SAVIOR?  If not, let me tell you that you are on the world's side and will meet the world's condemnation, for this world is guilty of the blood of the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD, and judgment will surely overtake it.  If not already sheltered from the coming wrath, let me persuade you, YES!  even beg of you, to "escape from the wrath to come" side with MESSIAH Y’SHUA.  "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." [Acts 4. 12] 

 

Don't be deluded by false religion or careless indifferences, there is ONLY ONE SAVIOR.  Put your trust in the LORD JESUS CHRIST now before you meet HIM as the RIGHTEOUS JUDGE, for then it will be too late.  If you die without forgiveness, you will be lost forever.  "He who glories, let him glory in the LORD." [1 Corinthians 1. 31]

  King David reminds us that Elohey Himself is the Source of our own individual LIGHT, "The Lord is my LIGHT and my SALVATION; whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the Stronghold of my life; whom shall I dread?" [Psalm 27:1 Tanakh, Kethuvim]  
  The Maccabees stood apart from the majority of Jews at the time and sent the message that Judaism is vitally important and has significant value.  After more than 3,000 years, we are still here making an impact on the world today, just as true followers of MESSIAH do, if not more so.  May you know every happiness and fulfillment during this celebration of the Festival of Lights — Chanukkah — may the bright glow of the candles causes us to remember the wonders reflected upon the SERVANT WHO bent down to bring light to those whom HE served.  Happy Chanukkah!

THE RE-TOLD STORY OF CHANUKKAH  (Part 2 of 2)  
THE MARTYRS
Antiochus returned from Egypt enraged by Roman interference with his ambitions.  When he heard what had taken place in Jerusalem, he ordered his army to fall upon the Jews.  Thousands of Jews were killed. Antiochus then enacted a series of harsh decrees against the Jews.  Jewish worship was forbidden; the scrolls of the Law were confiscated and burned.  Sabbath rest, circumcision and the dietary laws were prohibited under penalty of death.  Even one of the respected elders of that generation, Rabbi Eliezer, a man of 90, was ordered by the servants of Antiochus to eat pork so that others would do the same.  When he refused they suggested to him that he pick up the meat to his lips to appear to be eating.  But Rabbi Eliezer refused to do even that and was put to death. 

There were thousands of others who likewise sacrificed their lives.  The famous story of Channah and her seven children happened at that time.
Antiochus’s men went from town to town and from village to village to force the inhabitants to worship pagan gods.  Only one refuge area remained and that was the hills of Judea with their caves.  But even there did the Syrians pursue the faithful Jews, and many a Jew died a martyr’s death. 

MATTITYAHU
One day the henchmen of Antiochus arrived in the village of Modin where Mattityahu, the old priest, lived.  The Syrian officer built an altar in the marketplace of the village and demanded that Mattityahu offer sacrifices to the Greek gods.  Mattityahu replied, "I, my sons and my brothers are determined to remain loyal to the covenant which our GOD made with our ancestors!" 

Thereupon, a Hellenistic Jew approached the altar to offer a sacrifice.  Mattityahu grabbed his sword and killed him, and his sons and friends fell upon the Syrian officers and men.  They killed many of them and chased the rest away.  They then destroyed the altar. 

Mattityahu knew that Antiochus would be enraged when he heard what had happened.  He would certainly send an expedition to punish him and his followers.  Mattityahu, therefore, left the village of Modin and fled together with his sons and friends to the hills of Judea. 
All loyal and courageous Jews joined them.  They formed legions and from time to time they left their hiding places to fall upon enemy detachments and outposts, and to destroy the pagan altars that were built by order of Antiochus. 

THE MACCABEES
Before his death, Mattityahu called his sons together and urged them to continue to fight in defense of GOD’S HOLY WORD, the Torah.  He asked them to follow the counsel of their brother Shimon the Wise.  In waging warfare, he said, their leader should be Yehuda the Strong.  Yehuda was called "Maccabee," (means: Hammer) a word composed of the initial letters of the four Hebrew words Mi Komocho Bo’eilim ha’Shem, "Who is like unto THEE, O GOD?" 

Antiochus sent his General Apolonius to wipe out Yehuda and his followers, the Maccabees.  Though greater in number and better equipment than their adversaries, the Syrians were defeated by the Maccabees.  Antiochus sent out another expedition which also was defeated.  He realized that only by sending a powerful army could he hope to defeat Yehuda and his brave fighting men. 

An army consisting of more than 40,000 men swept the land under the leadership of two commanders, Nicanor and Gorgiash.  When Yehuda and his brothers heard of that, they exclaimed: "Let us fight unto death in defense of our souls and our Temple!"  The people assembled in Mitzpah, where Samuel, the prophet of old, had offered prayers to the LORD GOD.  After a series of battles the war was won by the Maccabees. 

THE DEDICATION
Now the Maccabees returned to Jerusalem to liberate it.  They entered the Temple and cleared it of the idols placed there by the Syrian vandals.  Yehuda and his followers built a new altar, which he dedicated on the 25th of the month of Kislev, in the year 3622. 

Since the Golden Menorah had been stolen by the Syrians, the Maccabees now made one of cheaper metal.  When they wanted to light it, they found only a small cruse of pure olive oil bearing the seal of the High Priest Yochanan.  It was sufficient to light only for one day.  By a miracle of the OMNIPOTENT GOD, it continued to burn for eight days, till new oil was made available.  That miracle proved that the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL had again taken HIS people under HIS protection. 

In memory of this, our sages appointed these eight days for annual thanksgiving and for lighting candles.

  The story of Chanukkah reminds us that we are not in charge of the world, the ALMIGHTY ONE is and has always been in control.  If a rag-tag band of yeshiva boys can defeat the Greek-Syrian army, surely, in our sophisticated age, we need not despair.  We need only recognize THE SOURCE of our help — Y’SHUA, the ROCK OF Ages our MIGHTY WARRIOR/REDEEMER.
  We trust that you will have an unforgettable and joyous Chanukkah - blessings to each of you.

THE RE-TOLD STORY OF CHANUKKAH  (Part 1 of 2)     

UNDER SYRIAN RULE 
More than 2000 years ago there was a time when the Land of Israel was part of the Syrian Empire, dominated by Syrian rulers of the dynasty of the Seleucids. 

In order to relate the story that led up to Chanukkah, we shall start with Antiochus III, the King of Syria, who reigned from the Jewish year, 3538 to 3574 (222-186 BCE).   He had waged war with King Ptolemy of Egypt over the possession of the Land of Israel.   Antiochus III was victorious and the Land of Israel was annexed to his empire.   At the beginning of his reign he was favorably disposed toward the Jews and accorded them some privileges.   Later on, however, when he was beaten by the Romans and compelled to pay heavy taxes, the burden fell upon the various peoples of his empire who were forced to furnish the heavy gold that was required of him by the Romans.   When Antiochus died, his son Seleucus IV took over, and further oppressed the Jews. 

Added to the troubles from the outside were the grave perils that threatened Judaism from within.   The influence of the Hellenists (people who accepted idol-worship and the Syrian way of life) was increasing.   Yochanan, the High Priest, fore-saw the danger to Judaism from the penetration of Syrian-Greek influence into the Holy Land.   For, in contrast to the ideal of outward beauty held by the Greeks and Syrians, Judaism emphasizes truth and moral purity, as commanded by ALMIGHTY GOD in the Holy Torah.   The Jewish people could never give up their faith in GOD and accept the idol-worship of the Syrians. 

Yochanan was therefore opposed to any attempt on the part of the Jewish Hellenists to introduce Greek and Syrian customs into the land.   The Hellenists hated him.   One of them told the King’s commissioner that in the treasury of the Temple there was a great deal of wealth. 

The wealth in the treasury consisted of the contributions of "half a shekel" made by all adult Jews annually.   That was given for the purpose of the sacrifices on the altar, as well as for fixing and improving the Temple building.   Another part of the treasury consisted of orphans’ funds which were deposited for them until they became of age.   Seleucus needed money in order to pay the Romans.   He sent his minister Helyodros to take the money from the treasury of the Temple.   In vain did Yochanan, the High Priest, beg him not to do it.   Helyodros did not listen and entered the gate of the Temple.   But suddenly, he became pale with fright.   The next moment he fainted and fell to the ground.   After Helyodros came to, he did not dare enter again. 

THE "MADMAN"
A short time later, Seleucus was killed and his brother Antiochus IV began to reign over Syria (in 3586 - 174 BCE).   He was a tyrant of a rash and impetuous nature, contemptuous of religion and of the feelings of others.   He was called "Epiphanes," meaning "the gods’ beloved."   Several of the Syrian rulers received similar titles.   But a historian of his time, Polebius, gave him the epithet Epimanes ("madman"), a title more suitable to the character of this harsh and cruel king. 

Desiring to unify his kingdom through the medium of a common religion and culture, Antiochus tried to root out the individualism of the Jews by suppressing all the Jewish Laws.   He removed the righteous High Priest, Yochanan, from the Temple in Jerusalem, and in his place installed Yochanan’s brother Joshua, who loved to call himself by the Greek name of Jason.   For he was a member of the Hellenist party, and he used his high office to spread more and more of the Greek customs among the priesthood. 

Joshua or Jason was later replaced by another man, Menelaus, who had promised the king that he would bring in more money than Jason did.   When Yochanan, the former High Priest, protested against the spread of the Hellenists’ influence in the Holy Temple, the ruling High Priest hired murderers to assassinate him. 

Antiochus was at that time engaged in a successful war against Egypt.   But messengers from Rome arrived and commanded him to stop the war, and he had to yield.   Meanwhile, in Jerusalem, a rumor spread that a serious accident, had befallen Antiochus.   Thinking that he was dead, the people rebelled against Menelaus.   The treacherous High Priest fled together with his friends.

Fill your attitude, not so much with knowing, but with caring. 

IMMUTABLE-UNCHANGING-ETERNAL     
"JESUS CHRIST is the same yesterday, today and forever." [Hebrews 13. 8] 

When the LORD Y’SHUA arose from the dead, then later ascended into heaven, HIS body was immortal, no longer subject to death — yet it was HIS "Physical Body" that was capable of being seen and heard and touched, even capable of eating with HIS disciples.  Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH was clearly recognizable, yet could quickly ascend from earth to heaven and could pass through a solid wall.  As MESSIAH ascended, two angelic messengers said, "This same JESUS which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen HIM go into heaven." [Acts 1. 11]   Peter could also proclaim "that GOD has made that same JESUS WHOM you crucified, both LORD and CHRIST." [Acts 2. 36] 

Even when Y’SHUA, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL returns and assumes the eternal throne of the universe, HE will still be the same.   "But to the SON (Y’SHUA) HE (GOD THE FATHER) said — YOUR Throne, O GOD, is forever and ever, a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of YOUR Kingdom...they will be changed; but YOU are the same, and YOUR years will not fail." [Hebrews 13. 8, 12] 

This was the same JESUS WHOM John the Baptist had identified at the beginning of his earthly ministry.   "HE WHO sent me to baptize with water said to me — Upon WHOM you see the SPIRIT descending, and remaining on HIM, it is HE WHO baptizes with the HOLY SPIRIT." [John 1. 33] 

From the beginning, Y’SHUA, the HOLY ANOINTED ONE was and is the same.   "In the beginning was the WORD...and the WORD was made FLESH...the same was in the beginning with GOD." [John 1. 1, 3]   "I am the LORD, I do not change." [Malachi (Malakhi) 3. 6 Tanakh, Nevi'im]  This same JESUS , the SON OF MAN lived among men, identified by John as the LAMB OF GOD, and WHO died on the cross is the ETERNAL WORD OF TRUTH by WHOM all things were made.  Y’SHUA, the RESURRECTED SAVIOR & SOON-COMING KING, the UNCHANGING ONE WHO is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.  The ENDLESS ONE is from everlasting-to-everlasting, HE is the ALL-POWERFUL, BELOVED ALMIGHTY GOD EVERLASTING!

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Prayer is a path where there is none. 

ROCK OF JUDGMENT & PROVISION     
"The LORD spoke to Moses saying — You and your brother Aaron take the rod and assemble the community, and before their very eyes speak to the rock (Hebrew: cela — rock of provision) to yield its water.  Thus you shall produce water for them from the rock and provide drink for the congregation and their beasts." [Numbers (B'Midvar) 20. 7 - 8 Tanakh, Torah] 

Once before under similar circumstances, OMNIPOTENT GOD had Moses strike the rock (Hebrew: t'sur — rock of judgment) in Horeb to produce its waters for the thirsty Israelites. [Exodus/Shemot 17. 6]   Both times a spring of water erupted which had then supplied their needs.   When the Israelites started taking the supply for granted instead of being grateful for their blessings, then the HOLY ONE dried up the miraculous waters.  The LORD, the FOUNTAIN OF LIVING WATERS desired for them to come to HIM, their "SOURCE" of blessings, and ask once again.  Instead, they grumbled and forgot all ALMIGHTY GOD'S previous gifts. 

Therefore, YEHOWAH told Moses to do the asking for them, as they watched.   Moses was to take the Rod of GOD, by which all the miracles were performed.  Thus showing the peoples that Moses and Aaron were still their leaders, and the GREAT GOD OF HOSTS was still able to supply their needs.   In his anger, however, Moses first rebuked the doubting Israelites, then struck the rock. 

The ROCK OF JUDGMENT and the ROCK OF PROVISION both picture the LORD Y’ESHUA ha'MASHIACH; HE was STRUCK in judgment for us, once and for all; and ever after we are to SPEAK to HIM.   For their disobedience and neglect to bless the TRUE & LIVING GOD in the eyes of the children of Israel, neither Moses nor Aaron were allowed to enter Canaan, the Promised Land. 

The EL ELYON (GOD MOST HIGH) alone is "THE ONE" WHO is due all trust, confidence, honor, glory and praise.  The MASTER CREATOR desires that we come to HIM in faith believing, and with thankful hearts for HIS abundant provisions and loving care.  Oh that we would respect and obey HIS WORD and find life abundantly blessed, that is HIS perfect will for each of our lives…Obedience!

  Compassion should never be compromised because of your authority.  An integral part of dignity is compassion.  Tiferet ― harmony ― is critical for successful leadership.  "Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous." Psalms/Tehillym 112:4  "Have compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous ― not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling; but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing." 1 Peter 3:8-9

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Where can GOD be found?  In the place where HE is given entry. [Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Kotzk] 

STAND-WAIT-WITNESS     
"It is not for you to fight this battle; STAND, WAIT, and WITNESS your deliverance by the LORD, O Judah and Jerusalem; do not fear or be dismayed.  Go forth to meet them tomorrow and the LORD will be with you." [2 Chronicles (Dibre Hayamin Bet) 20. 17 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

The Moabites, Ammonites and Edomites had organized a great army to come against Judah.  However, King Jehoshaphat and the inhabitants of Judah came together to seek the LORD in prayer for deliverance, and GOD ALMIGHTY answered in the Jewish people's favor.  The SPIRIT OF THE LORD spoke through Jahaziel ben-Zechariah declaring to them — "Do not be afraid or be dismayed by this great multitude, for the battle is GOD'S, not yours." [2 Chronicles (Dibre Hayamin Bet) 20. 15 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

"Stand Still" were the instructions, and see the salvation of the LORD.  All their enemies were constrained by the HOLY REDEEMER WHO caused them to fight and annihilate each other.  Through prayer, the enemy was defeated without the Israelites having to raise a hand.  In the same way after leaving Egypt, when the whole thing looked hopeless at the Red Sea "Moses said to the people — Do not be afraid!  Stand and witness the deliverance which the LORD will bring you today; for the Egyptians whom you see today you will never see again.  The LORD will fight for you; you hold your peace!"  [Exodus (Shemot) 14. 13 - 14 Tanakh, Torah]  The people obeyed and saw the sea divided, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and their left; and Pharaoh, all of his army, chariots and horsemen were overwhelmingly defeated, drowned in the midst of the deep for the LORD OF HOSTS fought for Israel against the Egyptians. 

When Israel was tempted to call on pagan Egypt for help against godless Assyria during Isaiah's day, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL said concerning Israel's armies, "Rahab-Hem-Shebeth (their strength is to sit still)." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 30. 7 Tanakh, Torah]  During a severe storm at sea, the Apostle Paul warned the terrified centurion and soldiers who were about to abandon the battered ship — "unless these men stay in the ship, you cannot be saved" [Acts 27. 31] — in other words, HALT!   Because they obeyed and stayed onboard, GOD MOST HIGH spared every man. 

There are times for action, of course, but the rule is when we have done all we can, stand still and trust the ALPHA & OMEGA to work out the problem in HIS OWN good will and way.  "Be still, and know that I am ELOHIYM (GOD); I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" [Psalms/Tehillym 46. 10]  Remember, the MAGNIFICENT CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE specializes in things thought impossible and is able to do what no other power can.  Be still and know that our GOD is INCOMPARABLY SUPREME.  HE is totally committed to being GOD, and those who know this rejoice through faith!

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Taking away restrictions and limits does not produce liberty — it produces anarchy. 

DARK WATERS, THICK CLOUDS      
"HE bent the sky and came down, thick cloud beneath HIS feet.  HE mounted a cherub and did fly; HE was seen gliding on the wings of the wind.  HE made pavilions of darkness about HIM, thick dripping clouds, huge thunderheads of dark waters." [2 Samuel (Shemuel Bet) 22. 10 - 12 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

In this mysterious passage, David writes the words of this song to the LORD after the MIGHTY ETERNAL ONE saved him from the hands of his enemies. [Psalms/Tehillym 18]  "HE (YEHOWAH) reached down from on high, HE took me; HE drew me out of the mighty waters; HE saved me from my fierce enemy, from foes too strong for me." [Psalms (Tehillym) 18. 16 - 17 Tanakh, Kethuvim]  This song is much more then an eloquently well-spoken poetry.  David saw the LORD in a vision and was enabled to write, "the SPIRIT OF THE LORD has spoken through me, HIS message is on my tongue." [2 Samuel (Shemuel Bet) 23. 2 Tanakh, Nevi'im]   David was speaking of the LORD GOD MOST HIGH unleashing the great powers of mighty waters in judgment on a corrupt world yet delivering Noah at the time of the Great Flood.  When David wrote Psalms/Tehillym 29, he also spoke plainly of the Noahic Flood (Hebrew: mabbuwl). 

The Hebrew word "ruwach" means "wind or spirit" so this phrase could refer to "the WINDS OF THE SPIRIT."  In the first reference to "the SPIRIT OF GOD" [Genesis/Bereshith 1. 2], HE is seen as "moving" in the presence of the original ancient waters, the word being the same as that for the beating movement of the wings of a great bird.  This vibrating motion suggests the generating of mighty waves of energy flowing out from the SPIRIT to energize the newly created order of Genesis/Bereshith 1.   Correspondingly, the DIVINE ENERGY flows out again from the SPIRIT at the time of the Great Flood, this time in Destruction rather than CREATIVE POWER. 

The references to waters and darkness may refer to the condensation and precipitation of the extensive vapor canopy implied by "the water which was above the expanse." [Genesis/Bereshith 1. 7]   When great torrents of rain suddenly poured through "the gateways of heaven and the deep" — continuing at utmost severity for forty days until the "thick clouds" were emptied and the waters covered the whole earth — fifteen cubits higher then the highest mountain.  Then the waters subsided for one hundred and fifty days; at that time the Noah's Ark came to rest on the Mounts of Ararat.  The Great Flood continued to subside until the first day of the tenth month when the tops of the mountains were visible.

The waters covered the earth until all air-breathing life perished except for Noah and his family who were rescued in the Ark.  ALMIGHTY GOD is able to save HIS OWN in times of HIS wrath, great distress and through the coming tribulation. 

The GREAT & LOVING GOD does hear our voices in HIS Holy Temple and answers when our cry reaches HIS ears.  "In my distress I called on the LORD, I cried out to my GOD; in HIS Temple HE heard my voice; my cry to HIM reached HIS ears." [Psalms (Tehillym) 18. 6 Tanakh, Kethuvim]   MESSIAH Y’SHUA, our HORN OF RESCUE is mighty to save.  "For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and HIS ears are open to their prayers; but, the face of the LORD is against those who do evil." [1 Peter 3. 12]  Therefore, let us be righteous that the HIGH & EXALTED ALMIGHTY GOD OF CREATION will listen to our prayers.

  It is only in the deliverance of MESSIAH that there is freedom; but it is under HIS LORD-ship that HIS freedom is offered — freedom only according to the principles of GOD’S WORD…not freedom to do whatever one wishes.  
  Enjoy perfect fellowship with the MIGHTY GOD of all grace; may HE complete, establish, strengthen and settle you.  Then and only then will you have joy in the LORD JESUS the SOON-COMING KING, WHO came to give us life most abundantly.

Deciding "not to choose" is still making a choice. 

SEARCH!  GET UNDERSTANDING     
"They (the Levites) read from the Scroll of the TEACHING OF GOD, translating it and giving the sense; so they (the people) understood the reading." [Nehemiah (Nechemah) 8. 8 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

When Ezra read the BOOK OF THE LAW OF MOSES, the Levites would explain the teaching to the people [Nehemiah/Nechemah 8. 7], so they could understand it literally.  "Then the people answered — Amen! Amen! — with hands upraised. Then they bowed their heads and prostrated themselves before YEHOWAH with their faces to the ground." [Nehemiah (Nechemah) 8. 6 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

If people, especially true followers of MESSIAH Y’SHUA, would spend more time reading GOD'S WORD, they too would perceive and understand the many treasures in it.  The congregation of Israel in Ezra's time found the WORD both vital and interesting as "the people were weeping as they listened to the words of the TEACHING." [Nehemiah (Nechemah) 8. 9 Tanakh, Kethuvim]  Then, "standing in their places, they read from the scroll of the TEACHING OF YEHOWAH their GOD for one-fourth of the day, and for another fourth they confessed and prostrated themselves before the LORD their GOD." [Nehemiah (Nechemah) 9. 3 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

Today we have the entire WORD OF GOD written down and easily obtainable for the reading.  Therefore, CHRIST-like-ones should be even more concerned and we should have a better understanding.  The narratives of the OLD COVENANT are understood in the wonderful light of the NEW COVENANT.  You will find love, humbleness, peace, pearls, roses diffusing their scent, blessedness, resurrection and heavenly treasures.  Also, you will find that the MOST HIGH GOD is leading us into and victoriously through the battles in this wilderness. 

One simply needs to read the HOLY SCRIPTURES and believe it literally, and accept it.  Keep in mind that the understanding of the WORD OF THE LORD comes by careful study of the LIFE-GIVING WORD OF THE LIVING GOD because, "precept (rule, guideline) must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little." [Isaiah/Yeshayah 28. 10] 

In reality, SACRED SCRIPTURES are not hard to understand, just hard to believe and obey.  The BIBLE was written with the important objective of being understood and well-established into our being.  The HOLY SPIRIT, it's WRITER, lives within the true believer.  "The HELPER, the HOLY SPIRIT, WHOM the FATHER will send in MY NAME, HE will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." [John 14. 26]  It is our responsibility, however, to put HIS WORD into our minds by READING THE WORD!!! 

May the mind-set of your heart ever be like that of King David who said — "Oh, how I love YOUR TEACHING!  It is my meditation all the day...to do what pleases YOU, ELOHEY, is my desire; YOUR TEACHING is in my inmost parts." [Psalms (Tehillym) 119. 97; 40. 8 Tanakh, Kethuvim]  Seek the LORD, the MIGHTY GOD OF ISRAEL while HE may be found and live.

A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
Whoever profanes the NAME OF THE GREAT GOD OF HEAVEN & EARTH in secret will suffer the penalty for it in public; and this, whether the HEAVENLY NAME be profaned in ignorance or in willfulness. 

KING OF PEACE & RIGHTEOUSNESS      
"King Melchizedek of Salem brought out bread and wine; HE was the priest of GOD MOST HIGH (EL 'ELYON)." [Genesis (Bereshith) 14. 18 Tanakh, Torah] 

If this mysterious KING MELCHIZEDEK was not the actual pre-incarnate appearance of the LORD Y’SHUA ha’MASHIACH, HE was at least a type.  Thus, it is appropriate that HE is called the "KING OF SALEM" or "KING OF PEACE (SHALOM)." MELCHIZEDEK is also called "KING OF RIGHTEOUSNESS" [Hebrews 7. 2] as that name is a combination of two Hebrew words carrying this meaning (malkiy — king/tsedeq — pious, righteous).  Therefore, Melchizedek (in principle), MESSIAH Y’SHUA, is KING OF PEACE & RIGHTEOUSNESS.  In truth, neither can exist without the other.  True peace can be founded only on true righteousness, for "there is no peace — said the LORD — for the wicked." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 48. 22 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

In like manner, ALMIGHTY GOD had promised, "If only you would heed MY commands!  Then your peace (prosperity) would be like a river, your righteousness (triumph) like the waves of the sea." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 48. 18 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

Peace and Righteousness go together.  Nothing else will ever be permanent unless it is established on righteousness; and, this will never be until the LORD JESUS returns, for HE alone is both the "PRINCE OF PEACE" and "THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD." [Isaiah/Yeshayah 9. 6; 2 Corinthians 5. 21]   The nations of the world have been at war with Omnipotent GOD — and therefore with each other — ever since sin entered the world.  When the MESSIAH returns, there will finally be permanent peace and eternal righteousness.  "In HIS days Judah shall be delivered and Israel shall dwell secure.  And this is THE NAME by which HE shall be called — YEHOWAH T'ZIDKENU (the LORD our RIGHTEOUSNESS)." [Jeremiah (Yirmeyah) 23. 6 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

Certain and everlasting peace can only be attained through the KING OF PEACE, Y’SHUA ha’MASHIACH.  Hallelu'YAH! The LORD JESUS is my PEACE and my PRAISE.  Is HE yours?  HE can be, just for the asking…and then our life will change amazingly, for HE will always be with us, even closer then a brother!

"I am your GUARDIAN — said CREATOR GOD — so why do you not pay ME MY appropriate due by keeping MY commandments?" 

MESSIAH'S DEATH      
"CHRIST gave HIMSELF for us, that HE might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for HIMSELF HIS OWN special peculiar people, zealous of good works." [Titus 2. 14] 

While it is true that the LORD Y’SHUA died to save us from our sins, according to SCRIPTURE [1 Corinthians 15. 3], it was also to "purify for HIMSELF a peculiar people, zealous of good works."  Paul said, "For to this end CHRIST both died, and arose, and lived again; that HE might be LORD of both the dead and the living." [Romans 14. 9]   Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH desires to have people who will serve HIM as LORD of their lives.  "CHRIST also loved the church and gave HIMSELF for it...that HE might present it to HIMSELF a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish." [Ephesians 5. 25 - 27]  In and because of HIM , the SAVIOR sees us: "Every part of you is fair, my beloved, in you there is no spot or blemish." [Song of Songs (Shir ha'Shirim) 4. 7 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 


Of Y’SHUA, the FAITHFUL & TRUE HOPE of all flesh it is recorded, "HE died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for HIM WHO died for them and rose again." [2 Corinthians 5. 15]  "How much more shall the blood of CHRIST purge your conscience from dead works to serve the LIVING GOD?" [Hebrews 9. 14]   Finally, the Apostle Peter reminds us that the TRUE VINE "bore our sins in HIS OWN BODY on the tree; that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness [1 Peter 2. 24], that we should no longer be slaves of sin." [Romans 6. 6] 

What do those wounds mean in HIS hands?  They mean that you and I will be presented someday without spot and without blemish because MESSIAH bore the penalty of our sin on the cross.  We who have been saved by the redeeming death and resurrection of Y’SHUA, SOVEREIGN KING OF THE UNIVERSE, from our sins through HIS precious shed blood should thank HIM continually for WHO HE is, and for what HE has done for us.  Moreover, we should praise HIM for what HE has done in us.  Then, seek always to live pure lives that HIS holy purpose is accomplished in us,  and that the sweet-smelling aroma of HIS love flows from our being.  May we truly be HIS people and HE, our GOD.  This is our reasonable service and our holy calling.

KNOWING GOD'S WILL      
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge HIM, and HE will make your paths smooth." [Proverbs (Mishle) 3. 5 - 6 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

The key to knowing the will of ALMIGHTY GOD is the willingness and determination to follow it, before knowing it.  "If any man will do HIS will, he shall know concerning the doctrine." [John 7. 17]   The best indicator as to whether one is really willing to follow the HOLY ONE'S command is whether or not he is now pursuing and abiding in the revealed WRITTEN WORD.  This requires knowing and believing what it says, then deliberately obeying all that the LORD GOD commands. 

"YOUR WORD is a lamp to my feet, a light for my path." [Psalms (Tehillym) 119. 105 Tanakh, Kethuvim]   If one indeed is following the revealed will of CREATOR GOD, we can "ask anything according to HIS will, HE hears us.  And if we know that HE hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of HIM." [1 John 5. 14 - 15] 

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of GOD, WHO gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.  But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind." [James 1. 5 - 6]   "For the LORD grants wisdom; knowledge and discernment are by HIS decree." [Proverbs (Mishle) 2. 6 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

The GREAT & MIGHTY ONE OF ISRAEL desires the ultimate best for each of us.   In view of this fact, "men always ought to pray, and not lose heart." [Luke 18. 1]   "For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought; but the SPIRIT...makes intercession for the saints according to the will of GOD.  And we know that all things work together for good to those that love GOD." [Romans 8. 26 - 28]   The MASTER DESIGNER is faithful and unwavering, HE desires that we know HIM as LORD, and HE is faithful to direct our paths.

When a follower of MESSIAH Y’SHUA is pressed in the millstones of life, only our best should emerge! 

UNSEARCHABLE RICHES     
"The LORD created and possessed me at the beginning of HIS course, as the first of HIS works of old.  I was fashioned and established from everlasting, at the beginning, before the origin of earth." [Proverbs (Mishle) 8. 22 - 23 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

Proverbs continually praises the virtues of true wisdom, founded on the fear of the LORD.   Beginning with Proverbs 8:22 the theme changes going back in time to the creation week itself and before.  The LORD'S ways were prior to HIS works; and HE fashioned and possessed wisdom from everlasting. 

The INCARNATE WORD of John 1:1-14 possesses all the "DIVINE WISDOM" of Proverbs 8:22-31.  The attributes and integrity of MESSIAH Y’SHUA fits all the statements in this particular section of Proverbs perfectly, which then gives marvelous new insight into the events of creation and the DIVINE fellowship in the GODhead before the creation. 

The NEW COVENANT also makes it plain that Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH indeed possessed INCARNATE WISDOM of ALMIGHTY GOD.  HE is "THE WORD" by WHOM all things were made. [John 1. 1 - 3]  The LORD JESUS is "The TRUTH" [John 14. 6] and "The LIGHT" [John 8. 12] through WHOM alone men must come to GOD THE FATHER and follow the ANOINTED ONE explicitly.  CHRIST JESUS, the HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL, perfectly demonstrates "the power and wisdom of GOD." [1 Corinthians 1. 24; Luke 11. 49] 

Paul acknowledged the wisdom in the LORD Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH: "I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of MESSIAH, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in GOD WHO created all things through JESUS CHRIST; to the intent that now the MANIFOLD WISDOM of GOD might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which HE accomplished in Christ JESUS our LORD, in WHOM we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in HIM." [Ephesians 3. 8 - 12] 

All the so-called "knowledge" of the world is empty and futile apart from the LORD JESUS CHRIST, WHO is the LIVING, POWERFUL WORD OF GOD.  In HIM alone are found "ALL the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" [Colossians 2. 3], "for in HIM dwells all the fullness of the GODhead BODILY." [Colossians 2. 9] 

The LORD MESSIAH Y’SHUA, the MANIFEST WORD does great things. . . Yes!  wonders without number.  How unsearchable are HIS judgments and HIS ways past finding out!

A SECOND REMNANT      
"In that day, my LORD will apply HIS hand again the second time to redeem the remnant of HIS people, the ones outside the Holy Land, from Assyria and Egypt; from Pathros [Upper Egypt/Nubia] and Cush [Ethiopia], from Elam [Iran] and Shinar [Iraq], from Hamath [Syria] and the islands of the sea." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 11. 11 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

The renowned Prophet Isaiah lived during the time when the Ten Tribes of Israel were being carried into captivity by the Assyrians, and about 150 years before his own nation of Judah would be carried into exile by the Babylonians.  Yet in one of the most remarkable prophecies of HOLY SCRIPT [see Isaiah/Yeshayah 44:28 – 45:6], Isaiah promised that his people would, someday return and rebuild Jerusalem and its Temple.  He even named the future emperor of Persia, the nation which would succeed Assyria and Babylonia as the dominant world power.  This emperor was named Cyrus, and this great king fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy about 175 years after it was given. 

"Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the WORD OF THE LORD spoken by Jeremiah was fulfilled, the LORD roused the spirit of King Cyrus of Persia to issue a proclamation throughout all his kingdom by word of mouth and in writing as follows: Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: The LORD GOD of heaven has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and HE has charged me to build HIM a House in Jerusalem which is in Judah.  Who is among you of all HIS people — may his GOD be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem that is in Judah and build the House of the LORD GOD of Israel, the GOD that is in Jerusalem.  And whoever stays behind, wherever he may be living, let the people of his place assist him with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, besides the freewill offerings for the House of GOD which is in Jerusalem." [Ezra 1. 1 - 4 Tanakh, Kethuvim] 

Isaiah prophesied the first return from exile, then he foresaw that ha'KADOSH baruku HU (the HOLY ONE, blessed be HE) would also set HIS hand again the second time to recover the remnant of HIS people in the distant future. . . the glorious future time of Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH'S reign over all the earth.  "In all of MY Sacred Mount nothing evil or vile shall be done; for the Land shall be filled with devotion to the LORD as water covers the sea.  In that day the ROOT of Jesse will stand as a STANDARD to the peoples — Nations shall seek HIS counsel and HIS place of rest will be glorious and honored." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 11. 9 - 10 Tanakh, Nevi'im]  The outcasts of Israel and Judah will return home "from the four corners of the earth." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 11. 12 Tanakh, Nevi'im] 

Isaiah, along with another prophet, Zechariah, predicted an even greater exile and worldwide home-coming long beyond that of the Babylonian captivity.  "I will strengthen and give victory to the House of Judah, and triumph to the House of Joseph.  I will restore them, because I have mercy on them and have pardoned them.  They shall be as though I had never disowned or cast them aside; for I the LORD am their GOD. . . "For though I sowed them among the nations, in the distant places they remembered ME; they shall escape and live with their children and they shall return.  I will also bring them back from the land of Egypt, and gather them from Assyria. I will bring them into the lands of Gilead and Lebanon, and even they shall not suffice room enough for them." [Zechariah (Zecharyah) 10. 6, 9 – 10 Tanakh, Nevi’im]  This precisely accurate information could only have come from the ALMIGHTY OMNISCIENT POWERFUL GOD OF HEAVEN HIMSELF. 

How very comforting it is to realize that the ONE WHO knows the end from the beginning, not only in times and events past, but in our daily lives, we can put all our confidence in the ALL-KNOWING ONE for HE is faithful in details small as well as the great.  O, HOLY LORD, how great YOU are!  Behold, GOD is our SALVATION, we can always trust in HIM and never be afraid. Truly, our GREAT GOD reigns.

  O GOD, keep my tongue from evil and my lips from speaking guile.  Be my support when grief silences my voice, and my comfort when woe bends my spirit.  Plant humility in my soul, and strengthen my heart with perfect faith in YOU.  Help me to be strong in trial and temptation and to be patient and forgiving when others wrong me.  Guide me by the Light of YOUR counsel, that I may ever find strength in YOU, my ROCK and my REDEEMER.  Thank YOU! A HEBREW SAGE MIGHT SAY. . .
GOD promises forgiveness for repentance, but HE does not promise a tomorrow for procrastination. Now is the acceptable time. 

DARKNESS OVER ALL     
"Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour." [Luke 23. 44] 

Y’SHUA, the SUFFERING MAN OF SORROWS, was nailed to the cross on the third hour and HE died at the ninth hour.  On the sixth hour a sudden and complete, supernatural darkness caused the sun's light to fail.  This darkness settled down on the earth and remained for three hours and then lifted and departed as abruptly.  The sun was veiled as with sackcloth  for those three hours while the AUTHOR of all light, physically and spiritually, was hanging on the cross until HE died on the ninth hour. 

In Egypt, the ETERNAL ONE kept HIS OWN people in light while Egypt experienced the plague of darkness.  But when they crucified the LORD JESUS, GOD'S PRECIOUS SON, that supernatural darkness which they had escaped in Egypt came upon them in their own land.  It is, however, a greater miracle to produce darkness in the presence of light than light in the presence of darkness.  Light overcomes darkness, but darkness is the negation of light. 

The Explanation of This Darkness:  In the light of the sun, men had put forth every effort to humiliate the LORD YESHUA and make HIM suffer.  The Roman soldiers, hardened by such experiences, were just performing another day's task.  For the first three hours, the Jewish rulers and the mob mocked, despitefully jeered, rebuked and reproached the LORD OF GLORY.  Then, on the sixth hour, man's energies ceased.  There was darkness and no man could work; the hearts of men were held by a gripping terror.  The soldiers stood aside in fear; the ruthless sneers of the rulers' tongues were silenced.  Stillness enveloped the scene.  Unspeakable horror hung over the cross while the mighty process of nature rolled on; but, its MAKER had stepped in and intervened in HIS creation.  HE veiled the sun in sackcloth and spread the mantle of night over the cross when the AUTHOR OF LIGHT was dying for our sins. 

The first three hours were man's moment; but the last three hours were ALMIGHTY GOD'S.  With HIS intervention, the cruel cross became an altar.  The substitutionary death of GOD'S PERFECT LAMB is the FOUNDATION of all GOD'S dealings with man — above all HIS actions to us — revealing GOD'S best for us.  MESSIAH Y’SHUA'S only compulsion was that of love for those who were nailing HIM to the cross.   Pilate wrote a title above the cross: "THE KING OF THE JEWS" ...but the HEAVENLY FATHER veiled that inscription for the time being that John's words might echo from the hilltops, "Behold! THE LAMB OF GOD WHO takes away the sin of the world!" [John 1. 29] 

In that period of darkness MESSIAH, our KINSMAN REDEEMER "was made sin for us" and thereby HE fulfilled the prophecy of the SLAIN LAMB in Isaiah 53.   Y’SHUA is the LAMB OF GOD, WHO willingly died upon GOD'S appointed altar, working in beautiful harmony with the FATHER for the sins of the world.  That darkness speaks of the inscrutable, unfathomable and unspeakable sufferings of CHRIST JESUS when HE became sin for us.  GOD slew HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON upon the altar — as it is written, "smitten and afflicted by GOD" [Isaiah/Yeshayah 53. 4]; but HIS suffering is unrecorded, for it is veiled in the darkness of Calvary.  As the darkness ceased about the ninth hour, there came the piercing and anguished cry from the DYING LAMB, "ELI, ELI, lama sabachthani?" — that is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, why have YOU forsaken ME?" [Matthew 27. 46] 

In those last three hours, the LORD Y’SHUA ha'MASHIACH endured all the sufferings of hell.  HE plumbed the depths of pain, and HE bore the full penalty of sin; GOD did not spare HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON but gave HIM freely.  When CHRIST bore our sin, substitution for sinful man was perfectly accomplished and completed in the severe darkness of that hour. 

Looking back on Y’SHUA'S deepest hour of anguish, we cannot plumb the depths of darkness to discern the dire distress of HIS soul; we can only be eternally grateful that "The LORD was pleased to crush HIM; HE has put HIM to grief.  When HE made HIMSELF an offering for sin-guilt, that HE might see HIS seed and arm of vindication, and have long life; and that through HIM the LORD'S purpose might prosper." [Isaiah (Yeshayah) 53. 10 Tanakh, Nevi'im]  The LORD JESUS CHRIST loved me and gave HIMSELF for me meeting the demands of a HOLY & JUST GOD. 
The ALL-WISE ONE buried the sword of justice in the heart of MESSIAH Y’SHUA.  Now, the sword of justice is sheathed in HIS heart and ALMIGHTY GOD is free to accept sinners who do no more than receive JESUS, HIS BELOVED SON.  The Cross of CHRIST was an Altar of Eternal Sacrifice where GOD displayed HIS love by paying the penalty of sin HIMSELF which HIS holiness demanded, for GOD was in MESSIAH Y’SHUA reconciling the world to HIMSELF.  
Such amazingly incredible love!

  We bid farewell to Sabbath by sing the song in the Havdallah ritual that states, “the Prophet Elijah, the Tishbite from Gilead, may he come to us soon with the SON OF DAVID, the MESSIAH” — the GREATER ONE that we fix our eyes on.  
  O LORD our GOD, help us to see ourselves as YOU see us.  Make us conscious of our sins and failings done openly or in secret; cause us to turn from our evil ways.  Give us strength to make amends for our wrongdoings, and grant us pardon from our transgressions.  Guide us by the LIGHT of YOUR council.  May we ever find strength in YOU, our SHIELD and EXCEEDINGLY GREAT JOY.  Praised are YOU, GIVER of peace.  We also pray that GOD, WHO separates the holy from the secular, forgive our sins, guide our life and open our mouth to declare HIS praises continually.  
  Be reminded of your commitment to obey GOD in holiness and integrity of life.  We are overwhelmingly grateful for ALMIGHTY GOD’S goodness and grace to us, truly HIS mercies endure forever.  Now, go forth and proclaim the GOOD NEWS as the BELOVED ONE commissioned while it is still day.  
  May the ALL-PRESENT ONE fill our upcoming week with HIS DIVINE PRESENCE that HE may be glorified; and may some of the sweetness of Sabbath be present throughout your week days.

The ALL-WISE ONE buried the sword of justice in the heart of MESSIAH Y’SHUA.  Now, the sword of justice is sheathed in HIS heart and ALMIGHTY GOD is free to accept sinners who do no more than receive JESUS, HIS BELOVED SON.  The Cross of CHRIST was an Altar of Eternal Sacrifice where GOD displayed HIS love by paying the penalty of sin HIMSELF which HIS holiness demanded, for GOD was in MESSIAH Y’SHUA reconciling the world to HIMSELF.  
Such amazingly incredible love! 

Sha’alu (Pray) for the Shalom (Peace) of JerUSAlem and all of Israel!
Redeem Israel, O ELOHIYM, out of all their troubles!!  
  We bid farewell to Sabbath by sing the song in the Havdallah ritual that states, “the Prophet Elijah, the Tishbite from Gilead, may he come to us soon with the SON OF DAVID, the MESSIAH” — the GREATER ONE that we fix our eyes on.  
  O LORD our GOD, help us to see ourselves as YOU see us.  Make us conscious of our sins and failings done openly or in secret; cause us to turn from our evil ways.  Give us strength to make amends for our wrongdoings, and grant us pardon from our transgressions.  Guide us by the LIGHT of YOUR council.  May we ever find strength in YOU, our SHIELD and EXCEEDINGLY GREAT JOY.  Praised are YOU, GIVER of peace.  We also pray that GOD, WHO separates the holy from the secular, forgive our sins, guide our life and open our mouth to declare HIS praises continually.  
  Be reminded of your commitment to obey GOD in holiness and integrity of life.  We are overwhelmingly grateful for ALMIGHTY GOD’S goodness and grace to us, truly HIS mercies endure forever.  Now, go forth and proclaim the GOOD NEWS as the BELOVED ONE commissioned while it is still day.  
  May the ALL-PRESENT ONE fill our upcoming week with HIS DIVINE PRESENCE that HE may be glorified; and may some of the sweetness of Sabbath be present throughout your week days. 

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem, is praying for the return of our Messiah and Lord and for the Kingdom of God He is bringing when He comes.  Then God's Will shall be done on earth as it is in Heaven and the world will experience true godly universal peace which is the fruit of Righteousness.
