ys after jihadi gunmen slaughtered 11 staffers of the Charlie Hebdo magazine and a policeman on January 7, hundreds of thousands of French people marched in solidarity against Islamic radicalism. Forty-four world leaders joined them, but not President Barack Obama. Neither did his attorney general at the time, Eric Holder, or Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, both of whom were in Paris that day. Other terrorists went on to murder four French Jews in a kosher market that they deliberately targeted. Yet Obama described the killers as “vicious zealots who … randomly shoot a bunch of folks in a deli.”
Pressed about the absence of a high-ranking American official at the Paris march, the White House responded by convening a long-delayed convention on “countering violent extremism.” And when reminded that one of the gunmen boasted that he intended to kill Jews, presidential Press Secretary Josh Earnest explained that the victims died “not because of who they were, but because of where they randomly happened to be.”
Obama’s boycotting of the memorial in Paris, like his refusal to acknowledge the identity of the perpetrators, the victims, or even the location of the market massacre, provides a broad window into his thinking on Islam and the Middle East. Simply put: The president could not participate in a protest against Muslim radicals whose motivations he sees as a distortion, rather than a radical interpretation, of Islam. And if there are no terrorists spurred by Islam, there can be no purposely selected Jewish shop or intended Jewish victims, only a deli and randomly present folks.
Understanding Obama’s worldview was crucial to my job as Israel’s ambassador to the United States. Right after entering office in June 2009, I devoted months to studying the new president, poring over his speeches, interviews, press releases, and memoirs, and meeting with many of his friends and supporters. The purpose of this self-taught course — Obama 101, I called it — was to get to the point where the president could no longer surprise me. And over the next four years I rarely was, especially on Muslim and Middle Eastern issues.
“To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward based on mutual interest and mutual respect,” Obama declared in his first inaugural address. The underlying assumption was that America’s previous relations with Muslims were characterized by dissention and contempt. More significant, though, was the president’s use of the term “Muslim world,” a rough translation of the Arabic ummah. A concept developed by classical Islam, ummah refers to a community of believers that transcends borders, cultures, and nationalities. Obama not only believed that such a community existed but that he could address and accommodate it.
The novelty of this approach was surpassed only by Obama’s claim that he, personally, represented the bridge between this Muslim world and the West. Throughout the presidential campaign, he repeatedly referred to his Muslim family members, his earlier ties to Indonesia and the Muslim villages of Kenya, and his Arabic first and middle names. Surveys taken shortly after his election indicated that nearly a quarter of Americans thought their president was a Muslim.
This did not deter him from actively pursuing his bridging role. Reconciling with the Muslim world was the theme of the president’s first television interview — with Dubai’s Al Arabiya — and his first speech abroad. “The United States is not, and will never be, at war with Islam,” he told the Turkish Parliament in April 2009. “America’s relationship with the Muslim community … cannot, and will not, just be based upon opposition to terrorism.… We seek broader engagement based on mutual interest and mutual respect. We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith.” But the fullest exposition of Obama’s attitude toward Islam, and his personal role in assuaging its adherents, came three months later in Cairo.
Billed by the White House as “President Obama Speaks to the Muslim World,” the speech was delivered to a hall of carefully selected Egyptian students. But the message was not aimed at them or even at the people of Egypt, but rather at all Muslims. “America and Islam are not exclusive,” the president determined. “[They] share … common principles — principles of justice and progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.” With multiple quotes from the Quran — each enthusiastically applauded — the president praised Islam’s accomplishments and listed colonialism, the Cold War, and modernity among the reasons for friction between Muslims and the West. “Violent extremists have exploited these tensions in a small but potent minority of Muslims,” he explained, in the only reference to the religious motivation of most terrorists. And he again cited his personal ties with Islam which, he said, “I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed.”
These pronouncements presaged what was, in fact, a profound recasting of U.S. policy. While reiterating America’s support for Israel’s security, Obama stridently criticized its settlement policy in the West Bank and endorsed the Palestinian claim to statehood. He also recognized Iran’s right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes, upheld the principle of nonproliferation, and rejected former President George W. Bush’s policy of promoting American-style democracy in the Middle East. “No single nation should pick and choose which nations hold nuclear weapons,” he said. “No system of government can or should be imposed upon one nation by any other.” In essence, Obama offered a new deal in which the United States would respect popularly chosen Muslim leaders who were authentically rooted in their traditions and willing to engage with the West.
The Cairo speech was revolutionary. In the past, Western leaders had addressed the followers of Islam — Napoleon in invading Egypt in 1798 and Kaiser Wilhelm II while visiting Damascus a century later — but never before had an American president. Indeed, no president had ever spoken to adherents of a world faith, whether Catholics or Buddhists, and in a city they traditionally venerated. More significantly, the Cairo speech, twice as long as his inaugural address, served as the foundational document of Obama’s policy toward Muslims.
Whenever Israeli leaders were perplexed by the administration’s decision to restore diplomatic ties with Syria — severed by Bush after the assassination of Lebanese president Rafik Hariri — or its early outreach to Libya and Iran, I would always refer them to that text. When policymakers back home failed to understand why Obama stood by Turkish strongman Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who imprisoned journalists and backed Islamic radicals, or Mohamed Morsi, a leading member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and briefly its president, I would invariably say: “Go back to the speech.” Erdogan and Morsi were both devout Muslims, democratically elected, and accepting of Obama’s outstretched hand. So, too, was Hassan Rouhani, who became Obama’s partner in seeking a negotiated settlement of the Iranian nuclear dispute.
How did the president arrive at his unique approach to Islam? The question became central to my research for Obama 101. One answer lies in the universities in which he studied and taught — Columbia, Harvard, and the University of Chicago — and where such ideas were long popular. Many of them could be traced to Orientalism, Edward Said’s scathing critique of Middle East studies, and subsequent articles in which he insisted that all scholars of the region be “genuinely engaged and sympathetic … to the Islamic world.” Published in 1978, Orientalism became the single most influential book in American humanities. As a visiting lecturer in the United States starting in the 1980s, I saw how Said’s work influenced not only Middle East studies but became a mainstay of syllabi for courses ranging from French colonial literature to Italian-African history. The notion that Islam was a uniform, universal entity with which the West must peacefully engage became widespread on American campuses and eventually penetrated the policymaking community. One of the primary texts in my Obama 101 course was the 2008 monograph, “Strategic Leadership: Framework for a 21st Century National Security Strategy,” written by foreign-relations experts, many of whom would soon hold senior positions in the new administration. While striving to place its relations with the Middle East on a new basis, the authors advised, America must seek “improved relations with more moderate elements of political Islam” and adapt “a narrative of pride in the achievements of Islam.”
In addition to its academic and international affairs origins, Obama’s attitudes toward Islam clearly stem from his personal interactions with Muslims. These were described in depth in his candid memoir, Dreams from My Father, published 13 years before his election as president. Obama wrote passionately of the Kenyan villages where, after many years of dislocation, he felt most at home and of his childhood experiences in Indonesia. I could imagine how a child raised by a Christian mother might see himself as a natural bridge between her two Muslim husbands. I could also speculate how that child’s abandonment by those men could lead him, many years later, to seek acceptance by their co-religionists.
Yet, tragically perhaps, Obama — and his outreach to the Muslim world — would not be accepted. With the outbreak of the Arab Spring, the vision of a United States at peace with the Muslim Middle East was supplanted by a patchwork of policies — military intervention in Libya, aerial bombing in Iraq, indifference to Syria, and entanglement with Egypt. Drone strikes, many of them personally approved by the president, killed hundreds of terrorists, but also untold numbers of civilians. Indeed, the killing of a Muslim — Osama bin Laden — rather than reconciling with one, remains one of Obama’s most memorable achievements.
Diplomatically, too, Obama’s outreach to Muslims was largely rebuffed. During his term in office, support for America among the peoples of the Middle East — and especially among Turks and Palestinians — reached an all-time nadir. Back in 2007, President Bush succeeded in convening Israeli and Arab leaders, together with the representatives of some 40 states, at the Annapolis peace conference. In May 2015, Obama had difficulty convincing several Arab leaders to attend a Camp David summit on the Iranian issue. The president who pledged to bring Arabs and Israelis together ultimately did so not through peace, but out of their common anxiety over his support for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and his determination to reach a nuclear accord with Iran.
Only Iran, in fact, still holds out the promise of sustaining Obama’s initial hopes for a fresh start with Muslims. “[I]f we were able to get Iran to operate in a responsible fashion,” he told the New Yorker, “you could see an equilibrium developing between [it and] Sunni … Gulf states.” The assumption that a nuclear deal with Iran will render it “a very successful regional power” capable of healing, rather than inflaming, historic schisms remained central to Obama’s thinking. That assumption was scarcely shared by Sunni Muslims, many of whom watched with deep concern at what they perceived as an emerging U.S.-Iranian alliance.
Six years after offering to “extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist,” President Obama has seen that hand repeatedly shunned by Muslims. His speeches no longer recall his Muslim family members, and only his detractors now mention his middle name. And yet, to a remarkable extent, his policies remain unchanged. He still argues forcibly for the right of Muslim women to wear — rather than refuse to wear — the veil and insists on calling “violent extremists” those who kill in Islam’s name. “All of us have a responsibility to refute the notion that groups like ISIL somehow represent Islam,” he declared in February, using an acronym for the Islamic State. The term “Muslim world” is still part of his vocabulary.
Historians will likely look back at Obama’s policy toward Islam with a combination of curiosity and incredulousness. While some may credit the president for his good intentions, others might fault him for being naïve and detached from a complex and increasingly lethal reality. For the Middle East continues to fracture and pose multiple threats to America and its allies. Even if he succeeds in concluding a nuclear deal with Iran, the expansion of the Islamic State and other jihadi movements will underscore the failure of Obama’s outreach to Muslims. The need to engage them — militarily, culturally, philanthropically, and even theologically — will meanwhile mount. The president’s successor, whether Democrat or Republican, will have to grapple with that reality from the moment she or he enters the White House. The first decision should be to recognize that those who kill in Islam’s name are not mere violent extremists but fanatics driven by a specific religion’s zeal. And their victims are anything but random.

Senator warns of 'breathtaking' concessions in Iran nuclear talks

The Iran nuclear deal may have receded from the headlines, but the process is still ongoing, and the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is apparently horrified by what he's seen.
How bad is the deal the Obama Administration is working on? Bad enough to scrap entirely. "Walking away from a bad deal at this point would take courage, but it would be the best thing for the United States, the region and the world," Corker wrote in a letter to the White House.

The more we learn about what our elected leadership is prepared to let Iran get away with the more important ending this deal becomes. As it stands, a country that still engages in chants of "Death to America" and "Death to Israel" will be put on the path to a nuclear weapon. Unlike the U.S., Israel is a tiny island of democracy in the Middle East. Even one well-placed bomb could mean the end of our ally.
Not only is a nuclear Iran an existential threat to Israel, but it will also be a major destabilizing force in the region. Saudi Arabia has already expressed its intentions to develop a nuclear weapon if Iran obtains that capability.
Iran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Not now.
Not 10 years from now.
Not ever.
The Republican chairman of the Senate Relations Committee warned Monday that the Obama administration is on a dangerous path toward a deal that would let Iran continue its nuclear program, and said if Iran pushes for more concessions related to transparency, President Obama should "please pause and consider rethinking the entire approach.
It is breathtaking to see how far from your original goals and statements the P5+1 have come during negotiations with Iran", Sen. Bob Corker wrote in a letter to Obama.

Hezbollah Imam is Father of US Marine

ilMohamad al-Halabi, the imam of the American Islamic Center of Florida and father of a United States Marine, has been using his Facebook page to propagate the same type of hatred and fanaticism that his center had forced on the community one decade ago. But the big question is, was he also involved in an international terrorist group?
The American Islamic Center of Florida or AICF was founded in the city of Boca Raton, Florida, in 2003, as the Assidiq Islamic Educational Foundation. Unlike the Sunni mosques which had already been established in Boca, Assidiq was of the Shiite variety.
In April 2005, Assidiq attempted to broaden its following by inviting the community to a free dinner banquet that the mosque was sponsoring at the Boca Center Marriott. But instead of gaining support for Assidiq, the mosque succeeded in alienating a good number of residents by featuring a neo-Nazi as a speaker at the event and a representative of a Hamas-related group as a ‘Guest of Honor.’
The neo-Nazi that the mosque brought to speak was William W. Baker.
In 1984, William Baker was National Chairman of the Populist Party, a white supremacist organization founded the same year by notorious Holocaust denier Willis Carto. Officials from the party included neo-Nazis and former leaders of the Ku Klux Klan. The previous year, in 1983, Baker had given a speech at a function run by the Christian Patriot Defense League, also a white supremacist outfit. Baker’s speech targeted Jews, referring to Reverend Jerry Falwell, a staunch supporter of Israel, as “Jerry Jewry” and discussing a trip he had taken to New York where the first people he came in contact with were “pushy, belligerent American Jews.”
The Hamas-related group was the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).
CAIR was established in June 1994 as being part of the American Palestine Committee, an umbrella organization acting as a terrorist enterprise run by then-global Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzook, who was based in the U.S. at the time. In September 2001, right after the 9/11 attacks, under a graphic of a burning World Trade Center, CAIR asked its followers to donate money to Hamas charity Holy Land Foundation (HLF) via a link on the CAIR national website. CAIR later was named a co-conspirator for two federal trials dealing with HLF and the raising of millions of dollars for Hamas.
Following the mosque’s neo-Nazi banquet, a little over a year later, Assidiq Islamic Educational Foundation incorporated under a new name, Florida Islamic Education Center. Two years after that, in June 2008, the mosque reincorporated using the name, Al-Huda Islamic Center. And in December 2012, the mosque reincorporated under its most recent name, American Islamic Center of Florida.
From the time the American Islamic Center of Florida (AICF) was founded, there have been three imams leading it. The latest has been Mohamad al-Ali al-Halabi, a radical cleric who was born and raised in Syria and received his Islamic education in Iran beginning in 1987.
Since immigrating to the United States in 1999, Al-Halabi has become a very important figure in the American Shiite community. He is the head of the Education and Research Department of the Imam Mahdi Association of Marjaeya (IMAM), and he sits on the Executive Committee for the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars in North America (CSMSNA).
On al-Halabi’s Facebook page, there are a number of disturbing posts.
This past March, al-Halabi posted a video of virulent anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan, praising Farrakhan, stating “This man is a brave one.” In the video, Farrakhan denounces America as a corrupt nation with blood on its hands. In another video al-Halabi posted, in September 2014, the Secretary General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, refers to America as the “mother of terrorism” and the source of all terrorism in the world. Of this video, al-Halabi wrote, “Nice words.” Al-Halabi further posted different videos from Hezbollah’s television station, al-Manar.
Being that al-Halabi grew up in Syria, one would think that he would recognize the terror and devastation that Syria’s leader, Bashar al-Assad, has unleashed against his own people. Over 100,000 Syrian civilians have been killed at the hands of those loyal to the Assad regime. Yet, al-Halabi seems to be a big fan of Assad, posting a number of Assad propaganda pieces to his Facebook page. When Assad stated that the US only claims to fight terror and instead funds and arms ISIS, al-Halabi wrote of it, “Good points.”
In October 2012, al-Halabi posted a graphic on his Facebook page linking to a heavily anti-Semitic video, titled ‘Iran Bashing, Terrorism and Who Chose the Chosen People, Anyway?’
The video suggests that Jews will deliberately commit crimes against the US knowing they will be protected by “the Zionist-controlled Main Street Media;” that the US itself is controlled by Zionists; and that Jews are conspiring to hide certain details about the Holocaust which they do not want “the un-chosen people” to know about.
The video doesn’t just attack Jews. It also explicitly targets America. The video claims that, regarding sanctions placed on Iraq in the aftermath of Operation Desert Storm, “long before the events of 9/11, the United States led an act of international terrorism which is almost beyond belief.”
Al-Halabi’s extremism seems to be exhibited, as well, in much of his family.
Apart from the foul language and marijuana advocacy (‘The Stoner’s Cookbook’) found on her Facebook page, Al-Halabi’s daughter, Nour Ali, is not that different from her dad. She even posted the same Louis Farrakhan video to her Facebook page as he did. One of her ‘Likes’ is of a group devoted to “Condemning Aggression Against Syria.” The group devotedly posts various pictures of Nassrallah, Assad and Iran’s former terrorist leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini on its Facebook page. The group also posted a Hezbollah communique on its page and a photo of U.S. and Israeli flags burning with the caption, “Death to America, Death to Israel” on it.
Al-Halabi’s cousin, Hossin Hallak, posted onto his Facebook page pictures of Hassan Nasrallah, Bashar Assad, and Assad’s father, Hafez al-Assad, who like his son was directly responsible for the murders of tens of thousands of his fellow Syrians. Another al-Halabi cousin, Retha Albaiaty, posted pics of Nasrallah and Adolf Hitler.
Yet another al-Halabi cousin, Radwaan Alrahe, posted onto his Facebook site pics of Nasrallah (one he had as his Facebook profile photo), Assad and various dead terrorist “martyrs.” He also posted photos of himself dressed in full camouflage gear; wearing large magazine/ammunition holders; whilst brandishing an AKMS Kalashnikov rifle, a weapon-of-choice for Hezbollah fighters and those fighting for the Hezbollah-backed Popular Committees in Syria, where Alrahe is located. He further made statements as if he is preparing to join his martyr friends.
Al-Halabi’s nephew, Ahmed (a.k.a. Ahmed HD), is also a strong supporter of Hezbollah. In fact, he is a member of Hezbollah. Al-Halabi is close with his nephew, as they frequently message each other on Facebook. On different messages, al-Halabi offers prayers to Ahmed and asks if he’s alright. Under a photo, where Ahmed proclaims his membership in Hezbollah, al-Halabi wrote, “May God protect you and grant you victory…” Al-Halabi has posted a number of photos on Ahmed’s Facebook page, at least one of which has both of them together.
Question: Is al-Halabi’s nephew Ahmed attempting to emulate his uncle, when it comes to joining up with Hezbollah?
In June 2010, al-Halabi posted on his Facebook page a short piece about an experience he had following Israel’s Siege of Beirut, Lebanon, 28 years earlier, in June 1982. In Arabic, he wrote, “We stood in line in front of the people from recruitment for training, in order to defend Lebanon after the invasion of Beirut by the Israeli enemy. The youngest among us was 15 years old and the oldest was 60 years old. When we were asked, we had one answer: ‘We want to fight, and we want to liberate Lebanon and Palestine. We want to die with dignity.’”
Al-Halabi mentioned that, at the back of the volunteer line, there was a “helpless” person with “crippled feet pushing his wheelchair with his left hand and his right hand hidden in his sleeve.” According to al-Halabi, the crippled man told him that he had been “a survivor of the October War” and that he wished to use his injured body as a “sandbag” in order to “shield hero fighters” in battle.
Following the Israeli siege against the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in Beirut, the government of Iran put up money to pay for recruitment centers for a new militant organization made up of religious Shiites to compete with the largely secular Amal Shiite group. The organization would be called Hezbollah or Party of God, and its focus was in carrying out guerilla warfare against Israelis, who were conducting military activities in Lebanon.
At the time, a large percentage of the Beirut population was Palestinian. The “October War” that the crippled man was speaking of was the Yom Kippur War, which took place in October 1973.
If al-Halabi did indeed join Hezbollah, as his writing suggests, this would certainly have ramifications for his immigration status in the United States.
The U.S. Application for Naturalization (form N-400) asks, “Have you ever been a member of, or in any way associated with a terrorist organization?” And the U.S. Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (form I-485) asks, “Have you EVER engaged in, conspired to engage in, or do you intend to engage in, or have you ever solicited membership or funds for, or have you through any means ever assisted or provided any type of material support to any person or organization that has ever engaged or conspired to engage in sabotage, kidnapping, political assassination, hijacking, or any other form of terrorist activity?”
In October 1983, a little over one year following Israel’s siege, Hezbollah suicide bombers carried out an attack against U.S. Marine barracks stationed in Beirut, which left 241 American servicemen dead – a terrorist assault against the U.S. only second in scope to 9/11.
After all the activities documented above, it is both ironic and disturbing to discover that Mohamad al-Halabi’s son, Mahmoud Ali, is presently serving in the United States Marines. A photo of him donning Marine gear is found on his sister’s Facebook page.
In May 2014, al-Halabi posted a photo on Facebook containing himself, Mahmoud and his Hezbollah nephew, Ahmed. In December 2014, al-Halabi posted a Facebook photo of himself and Mahmoud, with a caption that read, “Like father like son.” There is a strong possibility that these words could have more than a ring of truth to them, as the son would have to live in a bubble not to know of his family’s support and involvement with a terrorist organization.
Therefore, it is imperative that every individual in this article gets thoroughly investigated. If any one of them living in the U.S. is or has been involved with Hezbollah, they need to either serve jail time or be deported.
When it comes to openly glorifying terror, America, its armed forces, and its law enforcement agencies cannot afford to look the other way.

It's only May, but 2015 has seen 40 U.S. individuals arrested for terror charges, nearly double the combined total for 2013 and 2014.

The arrest of two southern California men last week who were planning to travel to Syria to join the Islamic State brings the number of U.S.-based individuals involved in international terror-related cases this year to 40.

This number highlights the metastasizing Islamic terror threat in the American homeland. At the current pace, by the end of June — halfway through 2015 — the number of cases will exceed the number from the past two years combined.

The Islamic State, as well as al-Qaeda affiliates and other Islamic terror groups, have repeatedly called for supporters to conduct attacks inside the American homeland:

After the U.S. began bombing ISIS targets last September, the group called for attacks in response.
Just days after the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris in January, a call for attacks targeting “intelligence officers, police officers, soldiers and civilians” was re-released.
In March, the group released a “kill list” including the names, photos, and addresses of U.S. military personnel.
This month, after the attempted terror attack in Garland, Texas, they claimed to have 71 trained operatives located in 15 American cities.

Recent evidence gives cause for concern. As I noted here at PJ Media, FBI Director Comey downplayed the number of Americans who had traveled to Syria to fight with ISIS and other terror groups before the midterm elections. He stated on 60 Minutes that “roughly a dozen” were fighting in Syria. But in February, senior officials corrected that number. They admitted that 180 had traveled to Syria. They also admitted that 40 had returned to the U.S. and posed a potential threat. FBI Director Comey then said they were investigating ISIS suspects in all 50 states.

Underscoring the failure to alert the public regarding the threat, concerned citizens have not been able to find a list of the 40 individuals arrested this year. Until now, a public list simply didn’t exist.

...As the Heritage Foundation notes, since 9/11 there have been 68 Islamic domestic terror plots; 57 involved homegrown operatives.

The attempted terror attack this month in Garland, Texas was only averted due to luck and thework of local law enforcement authorities who took the potential threat seriously.

With the number of homegrown Islamic terror operatives increasing rapidly and the calls by Islamic terror groups overseas for attacks on the American homeland coming more regularly, it seems to be only a matter of time before we see another successful attack on American soil in the manner of the Boston bombing, the Fort Hood massacre, and the Little Rock Army recruiting center killing. Or perhaps a larger scale attack, as in Mumbai in November 2008.

When that future attack happens, it will come at a time when the credibility of our counter-terrorism and national security apparatus in speaking honestly about the nature and scope of the threat is at its lowest.

If the jihadist terror attacks in the West over the past year are any indicator, the next domestic terror attack will most likely be by what I have termed a “known wolf” – someone who is already known to law enforcement authorities.

It’s only a question of who, where, and when, and of how many Americans will die.

Saying Goodbye To a Dear Friend

Dear Elaine,

We are heartbroken over the loss of our dear friend and Chapter Leader, Cathi Chrisco, of Bakersfield, California.

Cathi was accidentally struck and killed by a car on Wednesday, May 20. Apparently the driver of the car – a 69 year old local resident – failed to negotiate a parking spot and drove up on the sidewalk where Cathi was walking.

Cathi Chrisco will always be remembered for her indomitable spirit! She faithfully executed the duties of running the local Bakersfield Chapter since the inception of ACT for America, which included hosting a West Coast Regional Training and attending our National Conference every year.

We could always count on Cathi! Here is a portion of a note she recently sent Executive Director Kelly Cook that underscores her hard work ethic, passion and loyalty:

The vote on Homeland Security is appalling. The Senate needs phone calls - shame on them for taking out the conservative language the House put in!! I have had two chats with Vince Fong, Kevin McCarthy's District Mgr., and have a meeting with Vince when I get back home - am in El Cajon baby sitting my grandsons until the middle of next week.

Brigitte is a hero! She has done so much in the US and around the world to raise awareness, which is now translating into action from more and more people. I am thankful for her and admire her wisdom, resolve and courage!

Remembering the Armenian Genocide

Now, as a new caliphate attempts to rise in the Middle East, we are faced with a new slaughter. The Islamic State, Boko Haram, al Shabaab, and their fellow travelers are in the early stages of a new genocide. This time, the targets are Christians and Jews in the Middle East.
Slowly but surely, these barbarians are killing all who refuse to renounce their faith and submit to their murderous new regime.

SHARIA: THE UNIFYING IDEOLOGY AMONG MODERN TERROR GROUPS

Dear Elaine,
Boko Haram and the Islamic State. Lashkar Taibi. Al-Shabab.
We hear these names all the time used synonymously with terrorism. Commentators and political pundits try to draw them into distinct boxes by geography or by their ethnicity.
But in actuality there is a deep connection among all these groups and their barbaric practices — an ideology that is at the very heart of the danger facing Western civilization, and that we are working every day to stop.
We’ve all known about the horrors of ISIS — an English acronym for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. In recent months the group has grown beyond the last two letters of its title. The Islamic State is now active in Libya and is expanding its influence rapidly.
In India, Lashkar Taibi is actively working to bring about the fall of the Indian Republic, destroy Hinduism and Judaism, and see the disputed areas of Kashmir and Jammu made part of Pakistan, which would then itself become part of a larger pan-Islamic state.
In the Horn of Africa, Al-Shabab continues to fight to gain a foothold for sharia in the power vacuum that has existed since the early 1990s. And in Nigeria, Boko Haram kidnaps schoolgirls, murders Christians and Jews, and grinds those under its rule into ever-deeper misery and oppression.
The ideology that bonds all these groups together is a strict adherence to sharia law — the all-encompassing legal code of Islam, as practiced during the early days of the original empire that grew from Mohammad’s conquest of the Arabian Peninsula.
Most if not all of these groups talk about the desire to establish sharia rule in their lands. Much of the horror we see on the evening news from the Islamic State comes from their dedication to apply their 7th century views on everything from slavery to women’s rights to every aspect of life.
People unfortunate enough to find themselves under sharia rule find themselves in a place with little to no freedoms at all. Virtually every aspect of their lives is dictated by the omnipresent religious rules. Women are held as little more than property. They can be beaten and in many cases killed with impunity.
Girls have no chance at an education. Indeed, Boko Haram’s very name means “Western education is forbidden.”
In the lands of sharia, those who dare to profess a faith other than Islam are, under the best of circumstances, treated as second-class citizens, and more often than not rounded up for persecution or murder.
Just last year in Mosul, Islamic State fighters went house-to-house, finding Christians and marking their houses with an Arabic character — an abbreviation for “nasrani,” a pejorative term rooted in the word Nazarene. The choice given to those non-Muslims was simple: convert, pay a fine, or face “death by the sword.”
And as in so many other countries ruled by jihadis, the only thing more prevalent than efforts to kill and displace Jews is the perpetual stream of threats against Israel.
What our national security leaders have at best failed to teach the public — or at worst failed to realize themselves — is that these groups are not composed of lunatics, or any group of “lone wolves” that have congregated together in common madness.
These horrors are not the actions of a few malcontents in need of jobs or social programs. Graeme Wood put it very well in his story in this month’s Atlantic:
“The reality is that the Islamic State is Islamic. Very Islamic. Yes, it has attracted psychopaths and adventure seekers, drawn largely from the disaffected populations of the Middle East and Europe. But the religion preached by its most ardent followers derives from coherent and even learned interpretations of Islam.”
Rather than the irrational acts of madmen, the beheadings, kidnappings, and terrorist attacks around the world are the end result of a long-developed reading of Islam and what it requires of its followers.
Under their ideology, the only permissible form of government is that of a theocracy, specifically a revived caliphate, ruled by one man who will follow the will of Allah to rule the entire world.
It is this ideology – that sharia is the only acceptable law, and those who will not accept its rule must be destroyed – that we fight against. Jihadis know no color, they know no national borders, and they cannot be placed into neat boxes.
They only know that those who refuse to accept the rule of their caliph must die.
This is what we’re fighting against. A handful of people can change the world, for good or ill. It’s up to each of us to sound the alarm and be agents for change, to defend the country that we love against this great threat.

Congressman Trey Gowdy reports “huge gaps” in
State Dept. Benghazi Emails

The news over the past week confirms what we already know — the threat to our country from jihadists is growing. But thanks to you, some of our leaders are finally starting to realize just how grave the threat we face has become.
In the past week we’ve learned that not only has Libya become a safe-haven and staging area for the murderous band of terrorists known as the Islamic State, but also another major group of Islamist radicals has sworn it’s allegiance to the group as well.
Benghazi is now completely under Islamic State control. Abdelhakim Belhadj, the head of a faction that at one time received U.S. support in the effort to overthrow Muammar Gaddafi, is now reported to be the head of the IS in Libya. The group is now using Libya as safe haven away from its main area of operation in Syria and western Iraq.
This comes at the same time that Boko Haram, the barbaric group best known for kidnapping hundreds of women and girls in sub-Saharan Africa to become “brides” for the groups fighters or sold as slaves, swore their allegiance to the Islamic State.
Boko Haram’s open embrace of the Islamic State is a critical event. Everything about Boko Haram cries out to the barbaric, hateful nature of their movement, and how they are completely opposed to Western civilization.
Even the name of this group speaks to the danger they present, not only in the form of terrorist attacks, but the very way of life they intend to impose on others. Boko Haram translates to “Western learning is forbidden.”
This is a group that has declared that it will kidnap more women and sell them into slavery, and that it will prevent anyone in their territory from receiving anything other than a traditional Islamic “education.”
And yet even as late as 2011, our national security leadership resisted listing Boko Haram as a terrorist organization. For decades, political correctness blinded those charged with defending our country to the clear and present danger represented by jihadis.
Our leaders also thought they could work with “moderate” rebels in Libya to transform the dictatorship into a democracy, ignoring the terrorist ties of those who were actually fighting on the ground.
But thanks to you, that time is quickly coming to an end.
Congressman Trey Gowdy, the former prosecutor leading the House inquiry into just what happened at Benghazi, told reporters this weekend that there are “huge gaps” in the State Department’s email record surrounding the attack on Benghazi.
The committee Rep. Gowdy chairs, the House Select Committee on Benghazi, has issued a subpoena to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton requesting all of the emails routed through her personal email server, which we learned this week was her exclusive means of email communication during her time at the State Department.
Whatever comes from this investigation, it was you, acting together in support of concern for our country that first sounded the alarm, which has finally begun to wake up America’s national security apparatus.
Before ACT for America became involved, many of our leaders refused to call Benghazi a terrorist attack for a significant period of time following the attack. Instead, they chose to blame what was effectively an act of war not on terrorism, but an alleged protest over a YouTube video.
It was the combined efforts of people just like you that forced Congress to realize just what a disaster Benghazi was — and to finally take action to find out just what has gone so wrong inside the institutions charged with defending our country.
The hour is late, but many are beginning to wake to the threat. That’s why we have to keep working to educate our friends and neighbors, as well as our elected representatives.
The threat is grave, but working together, we can and WILL save our country, and our way of life!

This has been a historic week for the U.S. and Israel.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a powerful speech before Congress on Tuesday, making it very clear that unless our national security leadership changes course quickly, Iran will get a nuclear weapon.
In fact, the deal that is currently under discussion would not only fail to block Iran’s progress to the bomb, it would guarantee that Iran would become a nuclear power in just over 10 years!
Many of our leaders in Washington didn’t want to hear this uncomfortable truth. They worked hard to make the Prime Minister’s appearance a political issue, and to disqualify his message before he even spoke.
After watching this speech, it’s clear that they failed, and the Prime Minister’s message was strong and clear — if our country does not change course, Israel’s very future is at stake. Even the Washington Post editorial board has called for our leaders to answer the very basic questions raised by the Prime Minister.

Israel is the only democracy and the front line of the defense of Western Civilization in the Middle East. It is a beacon of hope and reason in a region racked by conflict. While much of the area regresses toward medieval barbarism, Israel creates breakthroughs in technology, and medicine.
The world needs Israel as much as Israel needs the world, but a nuclear-armed Iran puts her very existence in jeopardy. Nuclear-armed jihadi terrorists are the greatest threat our civilization may ever face
Radical Islam is not just a threat to American and Israel. It is a threat to Western Civilization everywhere. As I told an audience in Brisbane, Australia this week, my past is your future unless the West wakes up now before it’s too late and stops this evil.

Report: Obama threatened to fire on Israeli jets attacking Iran

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) – A Kuwaiti newspaper reported Saturday that US President Barack Obama thwarted an Israeli military attack against Iran's nuclear facilities in 2014.
Al-Jarida newspaper quoted "well-placed" sources as saying that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had taken a decision to carry out airstrikes against Iran's nuclear program after consultations with his minister of defense Moshe Yaalon and foreign minister Avigdor Liberman in the presence of top security commanders.
The decision came, according to al-Jarida, after Israel revealed that the United States and Iran had been involved in secret talks over Iran’s nuclear program and were about to sign an agreement in that regard behind Israel's back.
According to the report, Netanyahu and his commanders agreed after four nights of deliberations to task the Israeli army's chief of staff Beni Gants to prepare a qualitative operation against Iran's nuclear program. In addition, Netanyahu and his ministers decided to do whatever they could do to thwart a possible agreement between Iran and the White House because such an agreement is, allegedly, a threat to Israel's security.
The sources added that Gants and his commanders prepared the requested plan and that Israeli fighter jets trained for several weeks in order to make sure the plans would work successfully. Israeli fighter jets even carried out experimental flights in Iran's airspace after they managed to break through radars.
However, an Israeli minister "who has good ties with the US administration revealed Netanyahu's plans to Secretary of State John Kerry" and as a result Obama then threatened to shoot down Israeli jets before they could reach their targets in Iran.
Netanyahu had to abort the operation and since then relations between Israel and the United States have been declining, according to the sources quoted in the report.

Barack Obama’s 'extremism' language irks both sides

Barack Obama’s summit on violent extremism has come under fire from conservatives who are bashing his reluctance to use the words “Islam” and “Muslim” to describe the threat from terror groups like Al Qaeda and the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.
But in his remarks at the event Wednesday, Obama sounded more concerned about mollifying Muslim Americans who feel targeted by government outreach to their communities, promising not to “securitize” the relationship. Even so, some Muslim American and civil rights leaders said much of Wednesday’s session of the White House’s three-day Countering Violent Extremism summit — which focused on the threat from domestic radicals — was based on flawed premises.

“Today’s summit confirmed that there are significant reasons for concern about [such] approaches and that none of the hard questions about protection of civil rights and privacy have yet been answered,” said Hina Shamsi, director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s national security project. Shamsi, who attended Wednesday’s proceedings, said that while White House officials had listened to such concerns in private meetings, they were given little airing at the summit.
With Americans joining ISIL and Al Qaeda in Syria, and after recent domestic terror attacks in Europe and Canada, the Obama administration is on high alert for terror attacks staged from within. A plan to counter domestic radicalism launched in 2011 under the supervision of Denis McDonough, now Obama’s chief of staff, aimed to identify possible terrorists before they struck through education about risk factors and greater dialogue and trust between law enforcement and local communities. On Wednesday, Obama touted pilot programs in Boston, Los Angeles and Minneapolis-St. Paul that embody such efforts.

Disinformation on the Crusades from President Obama

At ACT for America it is no secret that we have not been in agreement with President Obama’s national security policies, but have always been respectful of the office which he holds.
Unfortunately, President Obama has not always been respectful of others and perhaps the worst example of disrespect came on Thursday at, of all events, the National Prayer Breakfast.
It was in that setting that President Obama delivered remarks comparing the actions of the Islamic State to things done “in the name of Jesus Christ.” Among those things according to President Obama: slavery.
He then cited the Crusades.
Not only were his remarks inappropriate for the occasion and insulting to peace loving Christians everywhere, they were historically inaccurate.
In terms of slavery, while it is true that Christians owned slaves, slavery is not an integral part of Christian doctrine. Jesus did not own slaves. The same cannot be said of Islam. Mohammed owned many slaves and even shared concubines with his warriors. There are today forty different words in Arabic to describe slaves; that’s how prominent slavery has been in the Islamic world. The slave trade in Africa was largely run by Muslims. And when Western nations finally abolished the evil practice of slavery, that slave trade in Africa persisted without them. Remember, Saudi Arabia, the site of Islam’s holiest sites, did not outlaw slavery until the 1960s. Moreover, slavery is still practiced today in parts of Islamic Africa, notably Sudan.
But Obama’s biggest dose of disinformation came in the form of his remarks on the Crusades.
There is a myth that the Crusades were nothing but an aggressive series of wars in which Christendom attacked the Muslim world and committed atrocities.
The reality is somewhat different.
The Crusades actually began after centuries of Islamic jihad invading, pillaging and conquering Christian lands in present-day North Africa and parts of Europe.
After 400 years of systematic genocide of Christians at the hands of Islamic jihadists, Pope Urban II, acting on a plea from the Byzantine emperor whose people had been attacked by Muslim hoards, finally called on “Christ’s heralds” to sound the call for help for the Christians in the east and free the Holy Land.
So, the first Crusade was a defensive action in response to Islamic jihad.
This is an historical fact that our president unfortunately left out of his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast.

ISLAMIC TRIBUNAL CONFIRMED IN TEXAS;
ATTORNEY CLAIMS ‘IT’S VOLUNTARY’

An Islamic Tribunal using Sharia law in Texas has been confirmed by Breitbart Texas. The tribunal is operating as a non-profit organization in Dallas. One of the attorneys for the tribunal said participation and acceptance of the tribunal’s decisions are “voluntary.”

Breitbart Texas spoke with one of the “judges,” Dr. Taher El-badawi. He said the tribunal operates under Sharia law as a form of “non-binding dispute resolution.” El-badawi said their organization is “a tribunal, not arbitration.” A tribunal is defined by Meriam-Webster’s Dictionary as “a court or forum of justice.” The four Islamic attorneys call themselves “judges” not “arbitrators.”

El-badawi said the tribunal follows Sharia law to resolve civil disputes in family and business matters. He said they also resolve workplace disputes.

In matters of divorce, El-badawi said that “while participation in the tribunal is voluntary, a married couple cannot be considered divorced by the Islamic community unless it is granted by the tribunal.” He compared their divorce, known as “Talaq,” as something similar to the Catholic practice of annulment in that the church does not recognize civil divorce proceedings as ending a marriage.

He also said there is a difference between how a man and a woman can request a divorce under their system. “The husband can request the divorce directly from the tribunal,” El-badawi stated. “The wife must go to an Imam who will request the divorce for her.” He called it “two paths to the same result.” The practice of Khula is the process where a wife can initiate a divorce proceeding and where the husband can agree to the divorce in exchange for a financial compensation. It appears the wife must agree to give up any claim to the “dower” that was not already paid or to return it if it has already been paid. Once the financial issues are resolved the husband can then proclaim the Talaq (divorce).

El-badawi said they follow Texas family law when it comes to child support, visitation, and custody. He said that in most cases, custody of children is awarded to the mother.

Breitbart Texas asked what happens when there is a conflict between Sharia law and Texas law. El-badawi said most of the time, the laws are in agreement. When pushed further he admitted that, “we follow Sharia law.” However, he explained, “If the parties are not satisfied with the tribunal’s decision, they do not have to accept it and they can take the matter to Texas civil courts.” He did not say what the social ramifications of rejecting the “judge’s” decision would be.

The website for the Islamic Tribunal states, “The courts of the United States of America are costly and consist of ineffective lawyers. Discontent with the legal system leads many Muslims in America to postpone justice in this world and opt for an audience on the Day of Judgment.”

It goes on to state, “It is with this issue that Muslims here in America are obligated to find a way to solve conflicts and disputes according to the principles of Islamic Law and its legal heritage of fairness and justice in a manner that is reasonable and cost effective.”

In explaining Sharia law, the website states, “Stoning adulterers, cutting of the hands, polyandry and the like (all can be traced in the relevant literature and can be explained in their Islamic legal mentality and rational context in fairness and justice), are mainly a part of Islamic Criminal Law. In fact criminal law within Islam only makes up a fraction of the Shari’ah. It is unscholarly and unfair to generalize that type of understanding, that is Criminal Law, to compromise the whole of Islamic law if we stick to speaking in technical terms.”

The website lists four “judges:” Imam Yusuf Z.Kavakci, Imam Moujahed Bakhach, Imam Zia ul Haque Sheikh and Dr. El-badawi. It states the Islamic Tribunal resolves business disputes, divorce (Talaq) cases, community problems, serious family problems, and Khula.

El-badawi restated several times that participation in the tribunal is voluntary. However, he would not discuss what happens to someone who did not follow their rulings.

Saudi Arabia’s New King Helped Fund Radical Terrorist Groups
Monarch tied to anti-Semitic Muslim clerics, funding of jihad

King Salman, Saudi Arabia’s newly crowned monarch, has a controversial history of helping to fund radical terror groups and has maintained ties with several anti-Semitic Muslim clerics known for advocating radical positions, according to reports and regional experts.

Salman, previously the country’s defense minister and deputy prime minister, was crowned king last week after his half-brother King Abdullah died at the age of 90.

While Abdullah served as a close U.S. ally and was considered a reformer by many, Saudi Arabia has long been criticized by human rights activists for its treatment of women and its enforcement of a strict interpretation of Islamic law.

President Barack Obama is scheduled to travel to the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Tuesday to pay respects to Abdullah and meet with Salman, who also has been seen as a moderate friend of the United States.

However, throughout his public career in government, Salman has embraced radical Muslim clerics and has been tied to the funding of radical groups in Afghanistan, as well as an organization found to be plotting attacks against America, according to various reports and information provided by David Weinberg, a senior fellow at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies.

In 2001, an international raid of the Saudi High Commission for Aid to Bosnia, which Salman founded in 1993, unearthed evidence of terrorist plots against America, according to separate exposés written by Dore Gold, an Israeli diplomat, and Robert Baer, a former CIA officer.

Salman is further accused by Baer of having “personally approved all important appointments and spending” at the International Islamic Relief Organization (IIRO), a controversial Saudi charity that was hit with sanctions following the attacks of September 11, 2001, for purportedly providing material support to al Qaeda.

Salman also has been reported to be responsible for sending millions of dollars to the radical mujahedeen that waged jihad in Afghanistan in the 1980s, according to Bruce Riedel, a former CIA officer who is now director of the Brookings Intelligence Project.

“In the early years of the war—before the U.S. and the Kingdom ramped up their secret financial support for the anti-Soviet insurgency—this private Saudi funding was critical to the war effort,” according to Riedel. “At its peak, Salman was providing $25 million a month to the mujahedeen. He was also active in raising money for the Bosnian Muslims in the war with Serbia.”

Salman also has embraced radical Saudi clerics known for their hateful rhetoric against Israel and Jews.

Salman has worked closely with Saleh al-Moghamsy, who tweeted in August 2014 that “Allah only gathered Jews in the land of Palestine to destroy them.”

Al-Moghamsy also stated in a 2014 television interview that “the hatred of Jews toward Muslims is an eternal hatred.” He also claimed in 2012 that Osama bin Laden had died with more “sanctity and honor” than any infidel, or non-Muslim.

Despite this rhetoric, Salman has maintained close ties to al-Moghamsy.

Salman chairs the board of an organization run by al-Moghamsy and has sponsored the cleric’s public events, including a 2013 festival. Salman and al-Moghamsy were pictured many times together at that event, according to regional reports.

Al-Moghamsy also has been an adviser to two of Salman’s sons, one of whom posed for a selfie with the cleric in July.

Salman also has reached out to other hardline preachers, including Safar Hawali, a one-time mentor of Osama bin Laden who has called for non-Muslims to be expelled from Saudi Arabia.

In 2005, Salman called Hawali to inquire about his health and in 2010 praised him upon the release of a book.

While crown prince, Salman also made a point of phoning Aidh Abdullah al-Qarni, a Saudi author currently on the U.S. Terrorist Screening Center’s No Fly List who has praised Hamas and called Israelis “the brothers of apes and pigs.”

Additionally, Salman, in his role as crown prince, has recently visited Saudi Arabia’s grand mufti, the nation’s highest religious authority, who has asserted that 10 is an appropriate age of marriage for girls and called for the destruction of all churches in the Arabian Peninsula.

Weinberg, who has been tracking Salman closely, said that the new monarch is taking up his predecessor’s mantle of moderate reform.

“Just like King Abdullah tried to present himself as a reformer, some are trying to suggest that the new king, Salman, is a moderate who will continue his half-brother’s so-called progressive policies,” Weinberg said. “But just look at where Saudi Arabia is after Abdullah: people are being decapitated and flogged by the state in the streets.”

“Women are systematically oppressed by their own government, and the regime continues to propagate incitement and intolerance,” he continued. “Salman’s background funding mujahedeen abroad and embracing hateful clerics suggests that he is at best a political opportunist who will tolerate continued religious extremism, even if he does not hold such views himself.”

European 'No-Go' Zones for Non-Muslims Proliferating
"Occupation Without Tanks or Soldiers"

Islamic extremists are stepping up the creation of "no-go" areas in European cities that are off-limits to non-Muslims.

Many of the "no-go" zones function as microstates governed by Islamic Sharia law. Host-country authorities effectively have lost control in these areas and in many instances are unable to provide even basic public aid such as police, fire fighting and ambulance services.

The "no-go" areas are the by-product of decades of multicultural policies that have encouraged Muslim immigrants to create parallel societies and remain segregated rather than become integrated into their European host nations.

In Britain, for example, a Muslim group called Muslims Against the Crusades has launched a campaign to turn twelve British cities – including what it calls "Londonistan" – into independent Islamic states. The so-called Islamic Emirates would function as autonomous enclaves ruled by Islamic Sharia law and operate entirely outside British jurisprudence.

The Islamic Emirates Project names the British cities of Birmingham, Bradford, Derby, Dewsbury, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Luton, Manchester, Sheffield, as well as Waltham Forest in northeast London and Tower Hamlets in East London as territories to be targeted for blanket Sharia rule.

In the Tower Hamlets area of East London (also known as the Islamic Republic of Tower Hamlets), for example, extremist Muslim preachers, called the Tower Hamlets Taliban, regularly issue death threats to women who refuse to wear Islamic veils. Neighborhood streets have been plastered with posters declaring "You are entering a Sharia controlled zone: Islamic rules enforced." And street advertising deemed offensive to Muslims is regularly vandalized or blacked out with spray paint.

In the Bury Park area of Luton, Muslims have been accused of "ethnic cleansing" by harassing non-Muslims to the point that many of them move out of Muslim neighborhoods. In the West Midlands, two Christian preachers have been accused of "hate crimes" for handing out gospel leaflets in a predominantly Muslim area of Birmingham. In Leytonstone in east London, the Muslim extremist Abu Izzadeen heckled the former Home Secretary John Reid by saying: "How dare you come to a Muslim area."

In France, large swaths of Muslim neighborhoods are now considered "no-go" zones by French police. At last count, there are 751 Sensitive Urban Zones (Zones Urbaines Sensibles, ZUS), as they are euphemistically called. A complete list of the ZUS can be found on a French government website, complete with satellite maps and precise street demarcations. An estimated 5 million Muslims live in the ZUS, parts of France over which the French state has lost control.

Muslim immigrants are taking control of other parts of France too. In Paris and other French cities with high Muslim populations, such as Lyons, Marseilles and Toulouse, thousands of Muslims are closing off streets and sidewalks (and by extension, are closing down local businesses and trapping non-Muslim residents in their homes and offices) to accommodate overflowing crowds for Friday prayers. Some mosques have also begun broadcasting sermons and chants of "Allahu Akbar" via loudspeakers into the streets.

The weekly spectacles, which have been documented by dozens of videos posted on Youtube.com (here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here), and which have been denounced as an "occupation without tanks or soldiers," have provoked anger and disbelief. But despite many public complaints, local authorities have declined to intervene because they are afraid of sparking riots.

In the Belgian capital of Brussels (which is 20% Muslim), several immigrant neighborhoods have become "no-go" zones for police officers, who frequently are pelted with rocks by Muslim youth. In the Kuregem district of Brussels, which often resembles an urban war zone, police are forced to patrol the area with two police cars: one car to carry out the patrols and another car to prevent the first car from being attacked. In the Molenbeek district of Brussels, police have been ordered not to drink coffee or eat a sandwich in public during the Islamic month of Ramadan.

In Germany, Chief Police Commissioner Bernhard Witthaut, in an August 1 interview with the newspaper Der Westen, revealed that Muslim immigrants are imposing "no-go" zones in cities across Germany at an alarming rate.

The interviewer asked Witthaut: "Are there urban areas – for example in the Ruhr – districts and housing blocks that are "no-go areas," meaning that they can no longer be secured by the police?" Witthaut replied: "Every police commissioner and interior minister will deny it. But of course we know where we can go with the police car and where, even initially, only with the personnel carrier. The reason is that our colleagues can no longer feel safe there in twos, and have to fear becoming the victim of a crime themselves. We know that these areas exist. Even worse: in these areas crimes no longer result in charges. They are left 'to themselves.' Only in the worst cases do we in the police learn anything about it. The power of the state is completely out of the picture."

In Italy, Muslims have been commandeering the Piazza Venezia in Rome for public prayers. In Bologna, Muslims repeatedly have threatened to bomb the San Petronio cathedral because it contains a 600-year-old fresco inspired by Dante's Inferno which depicts Mohammed being tormented in hell.

In the Netherlands, a Dutch court ordered the government to release to the public a politically incorrect list of 40 "no-go" zones in Holland. The top five Muslim problem neighborhoods are in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht. The Kolenkit area in Amsterdam is the number one Muslim "problem district" in the country. The next three districts are in Rotterdam – Pendrecht, het Oude Noorden and Bloemhof. The Ondiep district in Utrecht is in the fifth position, followed by Rivierenwijk (Deventer), Spangen (Rotterdam), Oude Westen (Rotterdam), Heechterp/ Schieringen (Leeuwarden) and Noord-Oost (Maastricht).

In Sweden, which has some of the most liberal immigration laws in Europe, large swaths of the southern city of Malmö – which is more than 25% Muslim – are "no-go" zones for non-Muslims. Fire and emergency workers, for example, refuse to enter Malmö's mostly Muslim Rosengaard district without police escorts. The male unemployment rate in Rosengaard is estimated to be above 80%. When fire fighters attempted to put out a fire at Malmö's main mosque, they were attacked by stone throwers.

In the Swedish city of Gothenburg, Muslim youth have been hurling petrol bombs at police cars. In the city's Angered district, where more than 15 police cars have been destroyed, teenagers have also been pointing green lasers at the eyes of police officers, some of whom have been temporarily blinded.

In Gothenburg's Backa district, youth have been throwing stones at patrolling officers. Gothenburg police have also been struggling to deal with the problem of Muslim teenagers burning cars and attacking emergency services in several areas of the city.

According to the Malmö-based Imam Adly Abu Hajar: "Sweden is the best Islamic state."

We were all horrified to hear about last week’s violent attack on the French publication,Charlie Hebdo. Americans value, perhaps more than any other right, their freedom of speech.

The Free Speech Defense Act is legislation that has been introduced in states across the nation that protects American authors, journalists and artists from being dragged into foreign courts over frivolous libel charges in jurisdictions that do not respect, value and protect freedom of speech and of the press.

Largest Islamic Body in the World Calls for More Anti-Free Speech Laws in Wake ofCharlie Hebdo Attack

Last week’s terror attack targeting French magazine Charlie Hebdo's office in Paris has sparked a global conversation about the nature of free speech, with the “Je Suis Charlie” hashtag in support of the murdered Charlie Hebdo staff going viral and becoming the most used hashtag in the history of Twitter.

But this afternoon, the UN representative for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ufuk Gokcen, was expressing another view with respect to free speech.

The OIC is comprised of the 57 Muslim-majority nations and the Palestinian Authority. They are the largest bloc at the UN, and when they meet on the head-of-state level, they literally speak for the Muslim world.

So it is noteworthy that after the Charlie Hebdo attack, Gokcen is now calling for more implementation of the OIC-sponsored UN Human Rights Council Resolution 16/18 and the follow-up Rabat Plan of Action that would criminalize the very type of speech that Charlie Hebdo engaged in:

The timing of Gokcen’s call couldn’t be more perfect.

Today, University of Tennessee law professor Robert Blitt (a colleague of our own Instapundit, Glenn Reynolds) had an oped published in USA Today calling out the OIC for its retrograde views on free speech and how they fuel Islamic extremism:

The OIC, whose member states range from moderate U.S. allies such as Jordan to adversaries such as Iran, describes itself as the world’s largest international body after the United Nations. For more than a decade, “the collective voice of the Muslim world” has spread the belief thatany insult directed against the Muslim faith or its prophet demands absolute suppression. Quashing “defamation of Islam” is enshrined as a chief objective in the organization’s charter.

With countless internal resolutions, relentless lobbying of the international community and block voting on resolutions advocating a prohibition on defamation of religion at the U.N., the OIC continuously pushes to silence criticism of Islam.

Translated into practice inside Islamic nations and increasingly elsewhere, this toxic vision breeds contempt for freedom of religion and expression, justifies the killing of Muslims and non-Muslims alike, and casts a pall of self-censorship over academia and the arts.

By building the expectation that dissent or insult merits suppression, groups such as the OIC and the Arab League have emboldened extremists to take protection of Islam to the next level. With the most authoritative Muslim voices prepared to denounce violence but not to combat the idea that Islam should be immune from criticism, a meaningful response to counteract the resulting violence continues to be glaringly absent.

An OIC statement released after a 2011 Charlie Hebdo issue “guest-edited” by the prophet Mohammed typifies this troubling position: “Publication of the insulting cartoon … was an outrageous act of incitement and hatred and abuse of freedom of expression. … The publishers and editors of the Charlie Hebdo magazine must assume full responsibility for their … incitement of religious intolerance.”

As Professor Blitt notes in his oped, the OIC has been the international driving force behind the passage of Resolution 16/18, which was co-sponsored by Pakistan and the United States and passed in December 2011.
When passed, Resolution 16/18 was billed by the Obama administration as an improvement over previous “defamation of religion” resolutions. But the effort immediately came under firefrom religious liberties and free speech experts:

In the view of veteran international religious liberty analyst and advocate Elizabeth Kendal resolution 16/18, “far from being a breakthrough for free speech … is actually more dangerous than” the religious defamation resolutions.

“Indeed, the strategic shift from defamation to incitement actually advances the OIC’s primary goal: the criminalization of criticism of Islam,” she wrote.

The OIC’s push to criminalize “defamation of Islam” goes back to the OIC’s 10 Year Plan of Action adopted in 2005. Under the section “Countering Islamophobia” (VII), the plan says:

3. Endeavor to have the United Nations adopt an international resolution to counter Islamophobia, and call upon all States to enact laws to counter it, including deterrent punishments.

In their published [url=http://www.oic-oci.org/baku2006/english/Implementation of 10-year POA.pdf]implementation plan[/url] for their 10 Year Plan of Action, they are more clear that combating “defamation of religion” is not what they were after, but rather criminalizing “Islamophobia”:

Which is effectively what they’ve accomplished with the generous assistance of the Obama administration. Just two months before the passage of Resolution 16/18, senior Justice Department officials were meeting with U.S. Islamic groups discussing that very thing.

In fact, in my annual “National Security 'Not Top 10' of 2011? (no. 7) here at PJ Media, I noted the active cooperation of Hillary Clinton and the State Department in working with the OIC as part of their “Istanbul Process” to that end.

And in November 2012, when I reported here that U.S. Embassy in Jeddah Consul General Anne Casper was going to be addressing the OIC’s symposium on “defamation of Islam,” theOIC quickly scrubbed any reference to her appearance.

It’s hardly surprising that even after the Charlie Hebdo attack the OIC is not content to abandon their decade-long effort to criminalize “Islamophobia.” But, much as Professor Blitt has warned in his oped today, by doing so they are pushing the global Islamic community further away from the rest of the world.

ISIS Calls for Poisoning and Running Down Westerners

In a new video, ISIS threatens to murder Westerners through a wide range of new means, including poisoning of food and drink and hit-and-run attacks. This marks an increase in ambitious threats as ISIS (also known as Islamic State, ISIL, and Daesh) calls on Muslims to wage “jihad in the path of Allah” using easily accessible weapons.
The seven-minute video, entitled, What Are You Waiting For, opens with a group of Francophone ISIS fighters denouncing the West and throwing their French passports into campfire. French is the spoken language in the video, which also contains Arabic and English subtitles. One jihadi known as Abu Osama Al-Faranci, states: “This is a message from your French brothers who have made Hijra, to the Muslims who are still living in the land of Kufr.” In other words, it is an appeal by ISIS fighters who have emigrated to lands controlled by the Islamic State to Muslims living in the land of the infidelity.

Though the fighters in the video mostly speak to Muslims living in France, they also have a broader audience in mind; for instance, Abu Maryam al-Franci addresses “those Muslims in France and elsewhere.”
The jihadis featured in the video implore Muslims to make “Hijra” and emigrate to lands controlled by the Islamic State. But if Muslims do not emigrate, Abu Maryam (holding a machine gun and a machete) reminds them, “Indeed you have been ordered to fight the Kafir [unbeliever/non-Muslim] wherever you find him” and encourages Muslims in the West to attack civilians in their home countries.

Abu Salman al-Faranci introduces new methods to entice potential terrorists living in the West to commit murder in France, telling them to “terrorize them and do not allow them to sleep due to fear and horror.” Abu Salman continues, “There are weapons and cars available and targets ready to be hit… Kill them [infidels] and spit in their faces and run over them with your cars.” He goes on: “Even poison is available, so poison the water and food of at least one of the enemies of Allah.” Abu Maryam hopes that infidels “will even fear travelling to the market.”

ISIS has proven itself successful at recruiting thousands of fighters from Western countries to join its ranks. Should this resonance continue and jihadis living in the West heed the new ISIS call, it would have dire consequences for non-jihadi Muslims; any driver, waiter, or grocery clerk could be perceived as a terrorist in waiting. For all of us, ISIS’ latest message hopes to turn a stroll down the street into a walk of terror and to turn our food and drinks into recipes for murder.

Alabama Constitutional Victory Caps Off Successful 2014 Legislative Effort

On Tuesday, November 4, 2014, the people of the United States went to the polls and made their voices heard in elections across America.

But seemingly hidden away in one state was a special kind of election.

The people of Alabama took the extraordinary step of making American Laws for American Courts part of their state’s constitution.

The American Laws for American Courts amendment in Alabama passed the vote of the people with a decisive 72% of the electorate approving it!

The victory was the culmination of a 4 year battle led by State Senator Gerald Allen, recipient of ACT for America’s National Security Eagle Award at our National Conference in Washington DC on September 11. In order to get on to the statewide ballot, American Laws for American Courts first had to pass through both chambers of the Alabama legislature. Thanks to the leadership of Senator Allen, it did so overwhelmingly with bipartisan support.

Remembering Our Veterans

Dear Elaine,

Today, on the 11th of November, we celebrate and honor the dead and the living, the young men and women who in every war since this country began, have given testimony to their loyalty to their country and their own great courage.

We are all free today because for nearly 240 years, whenever freedom and liberty have been threatened, gallant men and women have answered the call from our nation. From all the branches of the military they risked and sometimes gave their lives for America.

The rest of us owe more than we can ever repay to the veterans of all wars that our country has fought.

We commemorate veterans on this one day, and then American life goes on. It is appropriate that we recall on this sacred day in our calendar the contribution and the sacrifice which so many men and women--and their families--have made in order to permit the rest of us to enjoy freedom.

In difficult times, our veterans kept faith with America. They kept us free. On this historic day, let us resolve anew to keep faith with them.

One of the first and the greatest men to serve the American flag was George Washington, and he left behind an eloquent warning: "To be prepared for war," George Washington said, "is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace."

Unfortunately, more than once in our history we have forgotten that warning. Each time our fighting men and women have paid a very, very heavy toll.

In a world tormented by tension and the possibilities of conflict, we now commemorate an historic day of peace. In an age that threatens the survival of freedom, we join together to honor those who made our freedom possible.

On this Veterans Day, we pay special and appropriate tribute to the men and women who put their lives on the line for their country -- those who served in the armed services of the United States. We salute them for their part in the preservation of freedom and honor them for their courage and devotion to Country.

All Americans should pause today in tribute to the priceless contribution of all veterans and, in particular, those who gave their lives so America might be free.

Let us make sure, on this solemn day, the debt we owe to so many is properly honored. Let this Veterans Day strengthen our resolve to always walk the extra mile for freedom, but always walk it strong and unafraid--for without a mighty America no peace can long survive.

VICTORY: These Are The 7 States That Have Banned Islamic Sharia Law
Sharia law has become a hot button issue in America ever since reports broke of the Muslim Brotherhood creating a political party to push for states to adopt Islamic law into the U.S. legal code.
This course of action has led many states, who are concerned about the negative impact Islamic law would have on women and children, to create legislation banning Sharia law from state courts.

Seven states have voted to adopt anti-Sharia law legislation, or at least attempt to, since this issue has come to forefront. North Carolina and Florida are two of the recent additions to the list, with many others soon to follow.
In Oklahoma, legislation to ban Sharia law was struck down by the court for “discriminating among religions without justification,” leaving the state vulnerable to the dangers posed by Islamic law.
North Carolina took measures to help avoid the problem of “religious discrimination” in order to ensure the bill passed.

[…] the law in Oklahoma was struck down in court as unconstitutional, according to the Progressive Pulse, because it discriminated among religions without justification.
North Carolina lawmakers tried to avoid that problem by not mentioning Sharia in the legislation but instead banning enforcement of all foreign laws.
Those in favor of banning Sharia law believe that passing legislation is critical for protecting the Constitution from laws that are not compatible with the current legal system.
Supporters hailed the bill as an important safeguard that protects the American legal system from foreign laws that are incompatible with the U.S. Constitution, RNS reported, while critics argued the Constitution already overrides foreign laws.
Progressives, of course, are attempting to flip these arguments around to make supporters of this type of law intolerant of other’s religious beliefs, which is strange given the fact that liberals often attempt to use the same measures to silence those who hold to traditional Judeo-Christian values.
“(The legislation is) primarily designed to stir up anti-Islamic prejudice by creating fears that Islamic Sharia law is somehow going to take over the American legal system,” Carl Ernst, a religious studies professor at the University of North Carolina, told the Daily Tarheel.
The BizPac Review reported that supporters of legislation blocking enforcement of Islamic law in state courts aren’t targeting religion.
“No one has a problem with Muslims or anyone else living peaceably in America,” the Rev. Mark Creech said in an article published on the Christian Action League website. “But on U.S. soil, we must all embrace the freedoms and responsibilities assigned us via the Constitution, and not demand enforcement of rules and regulations left behind in other cultures.”
The states that have successfully banned Sharia law are taking the necessary steps to preserve the U.S. Constitution from the corruption of foreign legal codes. The successful passage of these bills is a huge victory for liberty loving people in America.
Sharia law is incredibly oppressive and dangerous, calling for extremely harsh punishments for crime and making spouse abuse legally permissible, which is why it absolutely needs to be banned. More states must address this issue before the push to adopt Islamic law gains support and momentum.

Another shocking photo has emerged on social media that have been encouraged by a Melbourne jihadist, who has clearly shown his support of Islamic State's recruitment of young children.
Mounir Raad re-tweeted a disturbing picture of two young boys, covered head to toe with only their eyes showing, dressed for combat, holding automatic rifles.
The caption of the tweet, which appeared on the twitter account of another extremist says 'There is no life without jihad' (Daulatul islam Baqiyyah!)

Mounir Raad who has associated himself with the Islamic State has claimed he is in Aleppo, Syria.
He is believed to have travelled to the country alongside teenager Adam Daham who killed five people in a suicide bombing.
Monash University Global Terrorism Research Centre director Professor Greg Barton told the Herald Sun the tweet, was almost seen as a 'badge of honour'.
'In jihadi culture, in a wide range of groups, there is a strong sense of encouraging kids to identify with a military culture as a way forward,' he said.
Raad's twitter account has also been filled with a variety of comments giving insight into life under the IS group, which strangely include eating a pot of noodles.
'Mmmmmmm noodles! I feel like a chef,' Raad tweeted.
'We say alhamdulilah for the blessings of Allah s.w.t in some other parts of shaam (Syria) they're eating cats n dogs,' he said.
Raad also tweeted a picture of the noodles, indicating what he was eating was obviously a luxury compared with what other fighters had to eat.

He also tweeted another pro Islamic State comment which appears to show his allegiance to the extremist group.
'May Allah shower patience upon the mujahideen and keep there feet firm against there enemies and give them victory over the kuffar,' it read.
'The whole game plan for the Islamic State is finding foreign fighters but so many of them are idiots, it is a double-edged sword,' Professor Barton told the Herald Sun.
Calling them soft and immature he said most 'turn up with a head full of ideas and not much to offer in terms of fighting.'
The photo of the two young boys comes just a day after another sickening photo emerged on social media showing a toddler kicking the severed head of a dead soldier in Syria.
It's believed the toddler's father is an avid Islamic State supporter and is seen wearing a camouflage military style baseball cap on his head.

The father can be seen smiling with delight in the photo as he watches his innocent child kick the severed head.
Leaning over, the bearded man, appears to be helping his young child to raise their small leg and kick the rotting head of the dead body, which appears to be the head of a dead prisoner.
Both photos are a long line of disturbing images which have recently emerged.

The Brookings Institution bills itself as "the most influential, most quoted and most trusted think tank in the world," but should it be?

Qatar gave Brookings $14.8 million in 2013, $100,000 in 2012 and $2.9 million in 2011. In 2002, Qatar started subsidizing the Brookings outreach program to the Muslim World which has continues today. Between 2002 and 2010, Brookings never disclosed the annual amount of funds provided by the Government of Qatar.

Sources of funding should not automatically discredit an organization, but critical facts and claims about Brookings should be examined in light of them, starting with a harsh indictment by a former scholar.

The Investigative Project on Terrorism has reviewed the proceedings of 12 annual conferences co-sponsored by Brookings and the government of Qatar comprising more than 125 speeches, interviews, lectures and symposia; a dozen Brookings-based programs that were linked to the Qatari financed outreach to the Muslim world; and analyzed 27 papers sponsored and issued by the Brookings Institution and scholars based in Washington and at the Brookings Doha Center since 2002. Our review, which will be detailed in a four-part series beginning with this story, finds an organization that routinely hosts Islamists who justify terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians and American troops, who advocate blasphemy laws which would criminalize criticism of Islam, and which never scrutinizes or criticizes the government of Qatar, its largest benefactor.

Imagine if your family member is suddenly killed by a terrorist wishing to strike fear in the heart of America.
On the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, The Daily Caller interviewed Debra Burlingame, the sister of Capt. Charles F. “Chic” Burlingame III, who was murdered by terrorists while piloting American Airlines Flight 77, the hijacked plane that crashed into the Pentagon.
As a former TV producer and liberal Democrat, Debra says her “whole world exploded” that day. Following the shock of the event, she transformed her life by learning how to make sense of the barbarity of our adversary and what makes them hate. As the co-founder of 9/11 Families for a Safe and Secure America, she has dedicated her life to meaningful activism and the education of others.
In this 27 minute video interview, Debra speaks of the scene in New York City as described to her by a firefighter. He told her, “Imagine that the Twin Towers are two big blenders and somebody turned them on. People lying everywhere. There were body parts from river to river and on the ledges of Brooklyn. It was a massacre of unbelievable proportions.”

Our enemy, she says with more clarity than our last two presidents, is a “political ideology masquerading as a religion. It is an ideology that says Allah controls every aspect of your life.”
They seek global expansion and a global caliphate aimed at defeating the West, she says. Our adversary deliberately deceives people by claiming to be a religion of peace, she claims.
When President Obama claims the Islamic State is not Islamic, Burlingame strongly disagrees. “Just because they are violent, doesn’t mean that they are not a religion.”
Noting that too few discuss Benghazi as an attack on the anniversary of her brother’s killing, Burlingame says we still don’t know what Ambassador Chris Stevens and the Americans were doing there. When asked about Benghazi, she can’t help but recall hearing President Obama at the Pentagon on September 11, 2012, the exact scene of her brother’s death, when he tried to comfort the families and others gathered by saying Osama bin Ladin was dead and the world is a safer place.
“What a huge embarrassment,” Burlingame said.
Among other citizen-led efforts, those who follow Burlingame’s website successfully stopped a George Soros funded multi-million dollar museum at Ground Zero to tell a one-sided story of America pleasing to its ideological adversaries.
Debra says it is fear and cowardice that prevents the mainstream media from covering stories on this battle. Her heroes include Zuhdi Jasser, Ayann Hirsi Ali, and Mark Levin who, she says, speaks clearly and truthfully for 3 hours a day on talk radio.
