For multiple days in a row, Israeli police have had to break up violent Arab riots at Damascus Gate, a predominantly Arab area of Jerusalem.

During the Ramadan Riots, violence at Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate was typical and yet the current spate of violent riots appear to be disconnected with anything else, it appears that the hidden hand of Hamas is also pulling the strings behind these riots as well.

Why would Hamas start these riots now? Hamas still wants to control over Jerusalem. However, with more and more money being spent in Arab neighborhoods by the municipality, the more the Arab population in Jerusalem has less reason to be connected to Hamas. These riots is about Hamas trying to stay relevant. As Hamas loses the street, the best way to stay relevant is violence.

So why does Hamas keep the riots going – because Israel has not yet stepped in and stopped them.

Daniel Luria, Executive Director of Ateret Cohanim, an organization dedicated to renewing Jewish life throughout the Old City had this to say:

“Arab violence and subsequent Israeli weakness has now reached new heights . Due to Arab violence around the Damascus gate area and rather than quell and squash the Arab head of terror- EGGED has njstones being thrown.”

Essentially if we want the the violence to stop, we must stand firm and push it away for good.

There is no one thing that unifies the Jewish people more than the yearning to return to Jerusalem. In every wedding ceremony, Passover Seder, and Yom Kippur prayer service, a high point is the prayer to return to Jerusalem. It is indeed part and parcel of the essence of the Jewish people for more than 100 generations. The resolve of the Israeli leadership is rarely as strong as on this one issue – the unity of Jerusalem.

Former Ambassador David Friedman deserves an enormous amount of credit for what he accomplished when he succeeded in bringing to fruition the plan to move the American Embassy to Jerusalem. This was promised over and over again by Presidential candidates from both sides of the aisle. Bill Clinton declared his intentions to move the Embassy.. George W. Bush declared his intentions. But time and again, the actual move was delayed. The reasoning was always that the timing wasn’t great, and there was concern about the sensitivity of the region. The assumption was always that any move would lead to a fiery conflict, like another intifada, in the region.

Nothing of the sort happened when the US Embassy was moved to Jerusalem. The Arab connection to Jerusalem is based more on anti-Jewish hatred, and less on a genuine connection to the ancient city. More than 1,000 years before the birth of Mohammed, the Jewish Temple stood in Jerusalem. Israel’s Justice Minister, Gideon Saar is right. The bond of the Jewish people is the core reason why the Jewish people will never agree to a divided Jerusalem.

Can you imagine being on a bus and having stones thrown at you? This should not be taken lightly. Stones can kill. We are not talking about a tiny, harmless pebble. When Arabs use stones as weapons, they have killed Jews.

The world wonders why there is no peace in Israel. They blame the Jews. But you don’t see Jews standing outside Damascus Gate waiting to attack Arabs. You don’t see Jews throwing stones at Arabs’ heads, or stabbing them, or shooting them. You don’t see Jews ramming cars into Arabs. Because the culture in Judaism is to be peaceful. And sadly, the culture amongst the “Palestinian” Arabs is quite the opposite…

The problem is that videos circulate the internet of police detaining young “Palestinian” children, and then the world thinks the Israeli police are at fault. What the world doesn’t know is that these “children” have done something murderous – like throwing stones. Large stones. At innocent Jews. That is never justifiable, and if people want to stop seeing children being detained, maybe the “Palestinians” should stop teaching their children to become murderers.

On Thursday, Ad Kan, a non-profit organization that exposes and investigates anti-Israel organizations as well as the activities of the Palestinian Authority and the European Union in Area C, announced the results of its recent investigation revealing that the Palestinian Authority intelligence service was deeply entrenched in Israel’s Defense Ministry’s Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria.

Their investigation focused on Nidal al-Atari, a Palestinian who works for Israel’s Defense Ministry. His job for the Israeli Civil Administration is to inspect all the real-estate transactions that take place in Judea and Samaria. Al Atari works under the supervision of Civil Administration Justice and Land Registration Staff Officer Tomer Carmi, whose authorization is required for any such transaction.

About two weeks ago, Al Atari requested permission from Carmi to take home confidential files concerning approximately 30 real-estate transactions. Carmi permitted this despite it being in violation of protocol. The files concerned properties purchased by Jews from Palestinians. 

The next day, Al Atari, who lives in Samaria near Shechem (Nablus) was arrested by the PA security forces in Jericho and has not returned to work.

It should be noted that as per PA law, it is a capital offense for its citizens to sell property to Jews punishable by death. As such, it is complicated and exorbitantly expensive for Jews to buy land in Judea and Samaria from Arabs with inordinate effort being expended to preserve the anonymity of the sellers. 

Also, no copies, digital or otherwise, exist of the files that Al Atari removed from the Land Registration’s office. Without these files, those involved in the transactions have no proof of ownership. 

In a statement, the office of the Coordinator for Government Activities in the Territories Maj. Gen. Ghasan Alyan said: “The subject is still under review by professionals in the Civil Administration, with the relevant officials in the Palestinian Authority. The employee is not involved in transactions involving Israelis, therefore there are no concerns information on land sales to Israelis could be leaked.

This marks the second time Al Atari,  one of the most senior Palestinian employees of the Israeli Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria, has been abducted by the PA security forces. The first time took place four years ago when he was held in a secret location for four months and tortured so severely that he required medical treatment and was hospitalized in a hospital in Shechem while remaining under arrest. 

This first arrest was discussed at length in Israel’s State Comptroller’s report from the summer of 2020. The report cited the Shin Bet which warned that employing a Palestinian without security clearance in such a sensitive position could result in leaked confidential and sensitive information from the Defense Ministry to the Palestinian security services.

Despite the warning and the proof that Al Atari had given sensitive information to the PA security forces, the Civil Administration promoted him.

A report on Channel 13 by Tzvi Yehezkeli outlined the increasing control by the PA over the operations of the Israeli civil administration in Judea and Samaria. Yehezkeli brought testimonies from Palestinians who had been arrested and tortured as a result of information leaked by Al Atari.

The Civil Administration was established in 1981 to be the civilian arm of the Israeli government in Judea, Samaria, and the Gaza Strip. In 1995, pursuant to the Oslo Accords, almost all the functions of the Civil Administration were transferred to the newly established PA. The Civil Administration’s authority was limited to being the intermediary between Israel and the PA. The Civil Administration has been ineffective in preventing the Palestinians from building tens of thousands of illegal structures in Area C. 

Ad Kan reported that there are other Palestinians under the control of the Palestinian security forces that are in similar positions in the Israeli civil administration of Judea and Samaria. Ad Kan Director-General Gilad Ach concluded his group’s report with the statement:

“The negligence of the Civil Administration has spiraled out of control. The confiscation of sensitive Civil Administration documents by the Palestinian Preventive Security marks a new low in the dysfunction of the Civil Administration. The fact that the staff officer of the real estate department in the Civil Administration allows a Palestinian employee to transfer confidential information to Area A (under full PA control – DI) in violation of the law shows the arrogance of the administration’s employees, their contempt for the State Comptroller’s report, the lives of Palestinian sellers, and the right to property of Jews.”

“It’s time for someone to pay for this,” Ach continued. “The arrest of the chief supervisor of lands in the Civil Administration by the PA shows that that Palestinian Preventive Security completely controls the Palestinian Civil Administration employees. Civil Administration employees—who work for the Israeli Defense Ministry of Defense in such a sensitive position—cannot be controlled by the PA. The handling of land registration must be expropriated from the Civil Administration at once in order to stop the madness of torture and murder under the auspices of the PA.”

Ad Kan is a right-wing, Israeli activist non-profit organization known for infiltrating Israeli left-wing organizations, as well as other forms of protest against organizations that it perceives as anti-Israel.  Ad Kan then passes the collected information and evidence to the Israeli authorities or to the media.

In 2015, Ad Kan activists went undercover in the left-wing anti-Israel NGOs Ta’ayush and Betselem where they filmed Ezra Nawi, a Jewish “human rights activist.” The Ad Kan video showed Nawi bragging that he had identified Palestinian land brokers willing to sell land to Israeli or Jewish brokers to the PA security services. In the recording, Nawi relates how Palestinian property dealers mistook him for a Jew looking to purchase land, and says, “Straight away I give their pictures and phone numbers to the Preventive Security Force. The Palestinian Authority catches them and kills them. But before it kills them, they get beat up a lot.”

For the first time, a Crusader encampment has been discovered by archaeologists in Israel. The find, described in the book, Settlement and Crusade in the Thirteenth Century, was found in ancient Tzippori in Galilee. The book sheds new light on formerly less explored aspects of the crusading movement and the Latin East during the thirteenth century.

The Crusades were a series of religious wars initiated, supported, and sometimes directed by the Latin Church in the medieval period. The best known of these Crusades are those to the Holy Land in the period between 1095 and 1291 that were intended to recover Jerusalem and its surrounding area from Islamic rule. 

The Crusaders succeeded in establishing their rule over areas of the region, an achievement that was historically documented and also attested to by the remains of castles and fortresses however very little remains to testify moments of transitions, such as battles and encampments. 
A new archaeological site was discovered during the construction of Route 79 that connects the coast with Nazareth. The site was identified as the site where the Frankish Crusader troops encamped for two months in 1187, preparing for the Battle of Hattin. There, the army led by  Ayyubid Sultan Saladin crushed them, ending the Catholic occupation of the Holy Land and ushering in the Muslim rule of the region. 

Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) archaeologists Nimrod Getzov and Ianir Milevski from the Prehistory Department conducted the required salvage excavation.
“The area along Route 79 was known as the site of the Frankish encampment ahead of the battle of Hattin in 1187, as well as for other encampments by both the Crusaders and the Muslims during a period of 125 years,” said Dr. Rafael Lewis, a senior lecturer at Ashkelon Academic College and a researcher at Haifa University. “For this reason, I was brought on board to focus on the remains from that era. It was a very exceptional opportunity to study a medieval encampment and to understand their material culture and archaeology.”

The archaeologists unearthed hundreds of metal artifacts and were able to study their relations to the landscape. The artifacts showed for the first time how the Crusader armies lived while they were in the field. These finds included coins, needles, arrowheads and objects used to care for horses: bridles, harness fittings, a currycomb, horseshoes, and horseshoe nails made both in Europe and closer to the campsite.

“Changing those nails probably represented the main activity in the camp,” Lewis tells the Jerusalem Post. “Nobody wanted to find himself in the battle on a horse with a broken shoe.”

There were surprisingly few items for everyday and domestic use, such as cooking pots. Lewis speculates that these materials were moved to castles and other fortifications after the encampments were no longer needed.
Researchers did, however, find a large quantity of “aristocratic artifacts”—gilded buckles and hairpins, manufactured in the European style and likely used by knights and other elite members of the Crusader armies.
No stone or wooden structures built by Crusaders were found at the site. Since, according to historical documents, Crusader knights lived in tents and were prepared to go into combat at a moment’s notice. The Crusader camp was built on top of a camp used by Roman Crusaders a millennium earlier. Archaeologists also found remains of previous populations at the site.
“We used a discipline known as ‘artifact distribution analysis’,” Dr. Lewis explained. “We started by reconstructing the landscape as it approximately looked like at the time; we considered where the artifacts were found, and compared what we learned to historical records.”
Using this technique the researchers concluded that despite fighting under one king, the Crusaders at the location did not serve in a centralized army. Different groups of knights would fight together, each having their own camp and each following the orders of their individual commanders.
The researchers hope to use their findings to expand their research of that period to other sites.
“I’m intrigued to understand more about Crusader encampments,” Lewis said. “I believe that the study of military camps has the potential to allow us to understand much more about the period and its culture.”

Liberals and Conservatives used to be on opposite sides of most arguments. Today, a true liberal probably would agree with a true conservative on more issues relating to free speech. The threat that exists today is the new style of silencing anyone that doesn’t subscribe to woke opinions on race, gender, and a whole host of other issues. Instead of the media serving as a watchdog to insure that people are informed, via tough questions of elected officials, the media has been complicit in the public becoming less informed and more polarized.


How and why did this all begin. It did not start with the election of Donald Trump. It began even before Barack Obama’s election. It began in colleges over the last few decades, where ideas that were fringe during the Clinton and Bush administrations began to take root among students. But over the coming decades, a small movement turned into a much larger movement that snowballed with the election of Barack Obama, and doubled and tripled during the Trump administration.

The media did not mercilessly attack Bill Clinton or George Bush. They were each properly called out for the failings of their administrations. Clinton’s personal failings clouded over his many accomplishments. The Iran-Iraq war clouded over the Bush administration’s accomplishments. This was no different than previous Presidencies. However, Barack Obama brought a new attitude into the Oval Office. It was a movement that was looking to change the United States at it’s core. It set out to do so and has not stopped to this day. It is succeeding in many ways. The election of Donald Trump set the Oval Office and the mass media on a clear collision course – before the first day of the Trump Presidency.

Things have only gone downhill since then. But now that the Biden-puppet Presidency is in full swing, it is clear to anyone looking and listening that the media is way off the deep end. Bari Weiss and other liberal commentators are the perfect people to point the mirror in the faces of those who have been complicit in bringing the media to it’s level that it now finds itself in.

The leader of Hamas accused his political opponent of trying to ignite a religious war in Lebanon that will pit Christians against Shia Muslims in a civil war similar to the three-decade conflict that wracked the country and killed 120,000.
 
NASRALLAH ACCUSES MILITARY LEADER
In a televised address on Monday, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Jezbollah in Lebanon, accused the Christian  Lebanese Forces party of killing  seven of its Shia Muslim followers at a demonstration last Thursday. 
 
In his address, Nasrallah accused the party and  Samir Geagea, the executive chairman of the Lebanese Forces, of trying to start an internecine conflict in the country.

“The real program of the Lebanese Forces party is civil war,” Nasrallah said.
 
The Lebanese Civil War, fought from 1975-1990 began as a conflict between  between Maronite Christian and Palestinian forces (mainly from the Palestine Liberation Organization) . Later,leftist, pan-Arabist and Muslim Lebanese groups formed an alliance with the Palestinians.
 
“They don’t have a problem with causing events that lead to bloodshed,” Nasrallah said. “Even if it will lead to a large-scale military confrontation of civil war.”
 
Nasrallah insisted that Hezbollah’s presence at the protest was entirely peaceful. 
 
“We don’t didn’t carry weapons or take any security measures, and let the security agencies handle it because it was in a sensitive area,” he said.
 
In an explicit threat, Nasrallah warned that Hezbollah has 100,000 “armed, trained, and experienced” fighters. If Nasrallah’s claim is true, it would mean that the terror group is larger than Lebanon’s official armed forces which are estimated at about 85,000.
 
Hanin Ghaddar, an expert in Arab politics at The Washington Institute, doubted the claim.

In the United States, there is now a major party, the Democrat Party. that has central people that are anti-Israel and essentially anti-Jewish. They are not in the top positions of leadership. But there is a good chance that in the next few election cycles, there will be leaders that are squarely anti-Israel. Bernie Sanders was clearly the runner-up candidate for the nomination to run for the Presidency, and he doesn’t have anything positive to say about Israel.

It is not inconceivable at all that in the coming USA elections for Congress and the Senate, an anti-Israel candidate becomes a central player, and perhaps even the candidate. Some would even argue that Barack Obama was indeed that kind of a candidate. But, he was not able to push an outwardly anti-Israel agenda as his viewpoints were still too radical during the years of his Presidency. However, today Obama’s opinions have become mainstream in the Democrat Party. It is not inconceivable at all that the Democrat Party in the United States will become dominated by leaders who think like The Squad and Barack Obama. But this time around, they will openly speak out against Israel and actually support terror organizations like Hamas. The UK Labour Party should serve as a warning of what the United States could see itself facing in the near future.

The United States, like any other country with millions of people will certainly have it’s pockets of racists, neo-Nazis, pedophiles, anti-Semites, etc… But to argue that America is a racist country is to argue that America is a country of pedophiles or a country of anti-Semites.

That is such a gross exaggeration that it amounts to one big lie. America is a great country. Let’s get over this identity politics that blames the policemen and not the criminals. If even the avowed liberal Bill Maher is a racist, then the prevalent mindset in the United States is really going off the deep end.

So why doesn’t Congress enact laws to limit the power of social media companies? Because enough Congressman and Congresswomen are scared of taking on the social media companies. Facebook and Twitter are now the most powerful forces in shifting elections. Any decision by Facebook to slightly tilt Facebook results in a specific district will have a profound impact on election results. Therein lies the Kafkaesque situation the USA is in. The safeguards that have been instilled in the political system are failing in this instance. The only solution is a massive uprising of people who will demand an end to the power of social media companies coupled with effective competitors that begin to eat away the dominance of Facebook and Twitter. The solutions will take years to implement, but the stakes are too high to ignore.

There has been a debate about American policies of isolationism for as long as the United States is in existence. During the first years of World War I, the United States was very hesitant about sending troops abroad to fight in the battles of Europe. But as the war dragged on, it became clear to the leadership of the United States that if they would not intervene, the alternative would be worse. So, America joined the fray and helped make sure that peace was restored to Europe and the rest of the world. This debate – join or avoid confrontation – did not end wit the war. It continued for decades afterwards – and really continues to this day.

But in 1939 and 1940, as the Nazi party, led by Adolf Hitler, invaded country after country in Europe and grabbed nearly everything – except for England, FDR found himself in a situation where he needed to persuade the United States to get involved in fighting for freedom. It was very simple. If Germany took over Europe and a big chunk of the Soviet Union, and England and the United States would stand down and appease Germany, it would invite more and more takeovers by Germany. Appeasement didn’t work when Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia, and it has never worked with dictators. They only understand force. Are the Taliban any different? No. They are the same. They hold machine guns, because that is the language that they understood – force. America indeed did betray our Afghan allies, and should get back in and fix the wrong. But that won’t happen under this President. He and his supporters will gloat about the heroic rescue efforts, and ignore all of the massacres that are probably already occurring all over Afghanistan. This is a man-made humanitarian disaster that was created via betrayal – for no good reason.

On Monday evening, Jews began praying for rain and their prayers were immediately answered as the first significant rainfall of the winter season fell on the holy city of Jerusalem.

RAIN AND PRAYER
On Tuesday, cloudy weather turned to rain that was accompanied by spectacular thunder and lightning lighting up the heavens over Jerusalem and around the country.

Israel is an arid country with about 70 percent of the average rain falling between November and March. As such, in order for rain to be considered a blessing, it is important that it falls in its proper season, as noted by the Prophet Ezekiel, which does not begin until after the holiday of Sukkot.

I will make these and the environs of My hill a blessing: I will send down the rain in its season, rains that bring blessing. Ezekiel 34:26

Jews begin adding a section requesting rain to the thrice-daily prayers on Tuesday evening, the seventh day of the month of Cheshvan. 

This custom is a bit confusing. At the end of Sukkoth on the holiday of Shemini Atzeret, also known as Simchat Torah, the phrase, “מַשִּׁיב הָרוּחַ וּמוֹרִיד הָגֶּשֶׁ (He causes the wind to blow and the rain to fall) is inserted into the second section of the prayers that describes God’s attribute of awe and the resurrection of the dead. This., however, is not a request for rain but is, rather, an affirmation that God is the master of rain and the source of life. 

On the seventh day of Cheshvan, a section asking for rain is added into the ninth paragraph of the prayer service which requests sustenance from God.  

Though, in theory, it would be better for the agriculture in Israel for the rain to fall directly after Sukkoth, the Talmud (Ta’anit 10a) explains that we delay requesting for rain in order to make the journey home easier for the pilgrims who travelled to Jerusalem for the Sukkoth feast. 

The Tosafot Yom Tov (commentary to the Mishnah by Rabbi Yom-Tov Lipmann ben Natan ha-Levi Heller, central and eastern Europe, 1578-1654) adds: “Because sometimes they would tarry a little in Jerusalem, until the entire Festival had finished”.

The Talmud adds the exception: “However, in the exile, [we pray for rain] sixty days after the Autumn equinox” (Ta’anit 10a) which was when Babylon needed its rainy season to begin.

Rain in Israel is not only a result of meteorological conditions or even of prayer but is a reflection of the relationship between the Jews and God.

It is interesting to note that the request for rain came directly after the Shabbat that the Torah portion is read describing the flood of Noah.

Beyadenu, an organization of students and young people working for Jewish rights on the Temple Mount, announced that a record number of Jews ascended to the Temple Mount last month. Beyadenu trains and provides free guides for the site and thanks to their work, 6,102 Jews toured the Temple Mount. Two years ago a record 5,940 made Aliyah, while during the same time last year, only 1,718 visitors ascended. Beyadenu has a booth stationed directly outside the entrance gate to the Temple Mount.

Elishama Sandman, chairman of the Yeraeh organization, emphasized the optimistic import of the record number.

“This was the beginning of the year and we can expect the rest of the year to only get better,” Sandman said. “This reflects how the nation of Israel is strengthening our connection to our holiest site despite all of the obstacles. This is the most important element that will bring the redemption.”

Beyadenu reported that the Israel Police were not adequately prepared for the thousands of Jews who ascended the Temple Mount during the holidays. Officers rushed groups through the tours and provided little time or space for ascenders to observe their surroundings, meditate, pray, or take in the lushness of their powerful surroundings. During our tours, police officers forcefully shoved ascenders who prayed, arrested four of our guests, and removed an entire Jewish group from the compound.

“The times that Jews are permitted, accessibility, and the security checks make it difficult however the conditions have also improved,” Sandman said. “The Moribiton and Moribitot who were paid by the Waqf to harass Jews have been entirely removed and even the Waqf guards no longer accompany the groups of the Jews at the site.” 

The announcement was made on Tuesday, a special day for the site. The day was the sixth day of the Hebrew month of Cheshvan, which was the 855th anniversary of the ascension to the Temple Mount by Rabbi Moshe ben Maimon, the medieval rabbi whose works are still authoritative today. In 1166 CE, the Rambam made a pilgrimage to Israel from his home in Egypt.

“We left Acco for Jerusalem under perilous conditions. I entered into ‘the great and holy house’ [the term used to refer to the Holy Temple] and prayed there on the sixth day of the month of Cheshvan. And on the first day of the week, the ninth day of the month of Cheshvan, I left Jerusalem for Hebron to kiss the graves of my forefathers in the Cave of Machpela. And on that very day, I stood in the Cave and I prayed, praised be G-d for everything. And these two days, the sixth [when he prayed on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem] and the ninth of Mar-Heshvan I vowed to make as a special holiday and in which I will rejoice with prayer, food, and drink. May the Lord help me to keep my vows….”

It is poignant to note that the Rambam was permitted to pray at Judaism’s holiest site while it was under the rule of the Catholic Crusaders. In contrast, this week, an Israeli court ruled that Jews are forbidden to pray on the Temple Mount, even silently. 

“There was a period of time when Jews were permitted to pray,” Sandman said. “That was already a step forward that cannot be erased or forgotten by the Jews who prayed there. The police allowed Jews to pray silently, something that would have gotten a Jew arrested and barred from the Temple Mount not so long ago. I have high hopes Jewish prayer will once again be heard on the Temple Mount. As more Jews ascend, this will be inevitable.”

Around 12:30 at night, a Jewish pregnant woman and her husband were driving in separate cars back to their home in the town of Adam, outside of Jerusalem. They drove through the Jerusalem neighborhood of Kiriyat HaYovel. When they were on the main Begin highway that cuts through Jerusalem, an Arab motorcyclist kept trying to block the woman’s car and cut her off. The Arab then knocked her mirror, breaking it, and drove off.

The woman’s husband drove after him to ask for insurance details. They arrived at Beit Hanina, an Israeli Arab neighborhood of Jerusalem, which is also the direction the couple drives to get back home, and the motorcyclist started choking the man. His wife went to help him and was smacked by the motorcyclist in her pregnant stomach with his helmet. Suddenly, there were 20 people trying to lynch this Jewish couple! The woman’s car was destroyed! They both had to be hospitalized, and when the woman called the police, they told her to “come and file a complaint.”

This shows the dangerous level the progressives have influenced the authorities in Israel. The police show up for Arab violence against Jews, but for calls about Jewish violence against Arabs, then the police would come immediately.

This was not even covered by the media.

Just imagine, what if this situation was the other way around?

Not only would the Israeli media be covering this story left and right, so would the world media. If Jews would ever do anything like this to an Arab, the world would go crazy.
